Get ready for an exclusive behind-the-scenes conversation with rising country star Billie Jo Jones as she joins Jay Franze and co-host Tiffany Mason for a candid discussion about her musical journey and exciting upcoming projects.

The Texas-born artist shares breaking news about her sophomore album "Turquoise and Silver," set to release this October. "I really think this album beats the last album, and I didn't think I was going to be able to say that," Jones confesses with genuine excitement. Unlike her debut where she wrote just two of ten songs, Jones proudly reveals she's written or co-written ten of the twelve tracks on this new project, showcasing her growth as a songwriter and artist.

Jones offers fascinating insights into her collaborative process, discussing partnerships with established writers like Bobby E Boyd (who penned "God Bless the Broken Road" for Rascal Flatts) and her special writing chemistry with manager Lin Snow. "We write really well together," she explains, describing how they can craft entire songs even while in different states. The conversation delves into the vulnerability required for effective co-writing and how Jones draws from personal experiences to create authentic music that resonates with listeners.

The interview takes an exciting turn when Jones announces her participation as one of twelve finalists on "The Road" – a new music competition show premiering October 19th on CBS and Paramount Plus. Produced by Taylor Sheridan and Blake Shelton, the series follows artists traveling on a tour bus from venue to venue, with audiences voting for their favorites. Jones describes the life-changing experience of opening for Keith Urban and how this show differs from her previous appearances on American Idol, The Voice, and Real Country.

Whether you're a longtime fan or just discovering her music, this episode offers a heartfelt glimpse into the creative mind of an artist on the rise.

chorus?
What are songs that the name ofthe song does not appear in the
chorus?
If you would like to join ourreindeer games, go ahead and put
your answers in the commentssection.
All right, tonight we have avery special guest.

(01:19):
I said it once, I will say itagain we have a very special
guest.
We have a country musicrecording artist hailing from
the great state of Texas.
We have Billie Jo Jones.
Miss Billie Jo, thank you forjoining us.

Billie Jo Jones (01:32):
Hi, thanks for having me.

Jay Franze (01:34):
It is our pleasure.
I know we only have you for alimited amount of time tonight,
so why don't we just jump in andtell us what's this new music
you've got coming out?

Billie Jo Jones (01:43):
Oh gosh, there is so much going on right now,
but I think one of the biggestthings is I am releasing.
My second ever country album iscoming out this fall.
I don't have an exact date justyet, but I know it's in October
and the name of the album iscalled Turquoise and Silver, and
we actually have been workingon the album cover today and it

(02:05):
is awesome.
Some girls don't cry.
Album cover was awesome, but Ithink this one beats it and I
didn't think we could beat thatalbum cover, so I'm excited for
everyone to see it.

Jay Franze (02:15):
You mentioned, it's your second album and that's the
sophomore release and there'salways a lot of pressure on the
sophomore release, so have youfelt any of that pressure?

Billie Jo Jones (02:24):
I have felt that pressure, but it's gosh, I
don't know.
Like my first album that we putout last year, I'd actually
written two of the 10 songs onthe album, and so I was
determined.
For the next album I wanted towrite a whole lot more, and
really I mean, my goal is justalways write a better song than
I did the day before.

(02:45):
That's kind of my mentality ofeverything.
And then it turns out that I'veactually written or co-written
on 10 of the 12 songs for thisnext album, and I am super
excited for it.
I really think that this albumbeats the last album, and I
didn't think that I was going tobe able to say that because I
really, really loved my firstalbum.

(03:06):
I still love it, but this nextalbum is complete fire and I
cannot wait for everyone to hearthe songs.

Tiffany Mason (03:12):
Why was it important for you to write more
on this album?

Billie Jo Jones (03:16):
It's really a personal goal for me because
I've I mean, obviously I cansing, I can perform, but I
always wanted to be a writer.
And I mean growing up with my.
I can perform, but I alwayswanted to be a writer.
And I mean growing up with mygrandparents, I would write
letters to them, you know, because that's how I expressed
my feelings was I would writethem a letter instead of talking
to them face to face.
That's just kind of how I am,and so I've kind of struggled

(03:38):
with writing.
I didn't even start writinguntil I was probably 23 years
old, and so it was just apersonal goal for me that I just
really wanted to write more onthis next album.
And we have so many incredibleco-writers for this album as
well that I got to write with, and so it's really really just a
personal goal, yeah.

Jay Franze (03:56):
Give us some example of the writers.

Billie Jo Jones (03:59):
So we've got.
Tammy Marler is actually alongtime friend of mine, that
you know.
I've probably known her since Iwas 12 years old in Emory Texas
.
Tammy Marler is actually alongtime friend of mine, that
you know.
I've probably known her since Iwas 12 years old in Emory Texas
.
Tammy Marler is on there.
Kelly Schoenfeld is on there, erin Weatherholt.
Another one is Bobby E Boyd, who wrote God Bless the Broken
Road for Rascal Flatts, and thena friend of mine that has

(04:21):
become one of my really goodfriends.
Her name is Morgan Lee Powers.
She and I co-wrote a couple ofsongs on there.
And then we also have TraniAnderson.
So I'm so, so, so excited forthis album.
Lin Snow is also a writer onevery single song, so obviously
I can't forget him.
He is my manager and labelowner of Get your Records.

Jay Franze (04:42):
What's it like writing with him.

Billie Jo Jones (04:44):
Oh gosh, it is awesome.
We like, even from the beginning, we've just we've always been
able to write like really welltogether.
I mean, obviously you kind ofgot to get comfortable and you
know, get to know the otherperson and you know sitting, we
can either be sitting togetherin the same room you know he has

(05:05):
a guitar or I have a guitar, orwhatever or we have like the
notes pulled up on our phoneswe're not even in the same state
and you know he can start asong on the notes and send it
over to me to share the notewith me, and we'll just write
the words like on the paper, noteven hear the music, and we can
write an entire song, which isreally special because there's
not a whole lot of people, youknow, that can, that can do that
sometimes.
So but yeah, we write reallyreally well together and we

(05:26):
already have seven songs readyfor the next album that we're
going to be doing.
So there's I mean, there's somuch music going on right now we
had to cut this album down to12 songs.
We're like, well, let's justput all these other ones on the
next album.
So we've already got the thirdalbum, you know, underway.

Tiffany Mason (05:42):
How vulnerable do you feel like you need to get
with the other person whenyou're co-writing?

Billie Jo Jones (05:47):
very.
I mean it's, it's, it's one ofthose I don't know, I don't know
how to explain it, except withI mean anyone that I write with.
You have to be comfortableenough.
You know with them in order forme.
I think this is just my opinion.
It may not be like this foreveryone, but my opinion you
have to let that person in andkind of see your vulnerable side

(06:07):
of you, because if not, I'vebeen in rooms with a couple of
writers where it just didn'twork, like we didn't mesh, I
don't know.
It was just like there wasnothing wrong with them, there's
nothing wrong with me.
It was just one of thosemoments where we just we just
didn't click, I guess, if thatmakes sense, and so sometimes
that just happens.
But for the most part, I thinkit's super important to be

(06:28):
vulnerable, share personalexperiences, because that's
where my writing comes from, isfrom personal experiences or me
knowing people that have been inthe situation that I'm writing
about.
Sometimes I can write like afantasy song, but for the most
part I think every single one ofmy songs is real life.
I've lived it or experienced itin some way or another.

Tiffany Mason (06:47):
Well, I know you said that that's how you used to
communicate with yourgrandparents, so I would think
that you are a person whoexpresses yourself through the
music, which means you have toget pretty vulnerable.
And then you saying that you'vebecome a really good friend
with one of your co-writers.
How often do you guys get downrabbit holes and forget to keep
working?
Or are you guys really good atlike staying focused and like,

(07:10):
no, okay, we got to write thissong.

Billie Jo Jones (07:13):
I would have to say that we so myself and
Morgan Lee Powers, we we havefun, but like we're still like
we're still writing, like we'restill, you know, coming up or
saying crazy things and we'relike, oh my gosh, you said that,
but we can put this here inthis song, you know, like we're
still working, I guess, if thatmakes sense, we don't really get
distracted or goof off or youknow whatever.

(07:34):
And we were even writing at heraunt's place and she had a
beautiful pool, you know, andlike we pretty much stay focused
and you know, some of thesesongs have been written in 20 or

(07:56):
30 minutes and some of themtook, you know, a few days to
kind of perfect.

Jay Franze (08:00):
So I know you mentioned that you sometimes
just grab a guitar, but do youalways start with the lyric and
the story first?

Billie Jo Jones (08:12):
For the most part I most of my songs I start
with the lyrics.
Sometimes I start with themelody Like I'll just be picking
on the guitar and I'm like, ohI can, you know, I start humming
and then I start putting wordsto whatever I'm humming.
But for the most part I'm kindof more of a I don't know lyrics

(08:32):
just always kind of come first,I guess, or I'll be, you know,
driving down the road and youknow it'll just pop in my head
and I'll start writing it downand then I go figure out the
melodies later.
Or I tell Lynn and he's a lotbetter at you know putting some
of the melodies with the wordsthat I have, or coming up with
new melodies, because wedefinitely don't want any of our
songs to sound the same, likethat would be terrible, like no

(08:53):
one wants to listen to an entirealbum that sounds the exact
same.
So we do really well with youknow coming up with different
melodies and different things.
And sometimes I take what hehas and like, oh well, let me do
this, I can make this better, you know, and I can make you
know go up with the higher notesor the lower or whatever.
So it really just kind ofdepends on the song and what
we're writing.

Jay Franze (09:13):
See that, Tiffany?
That's why I stopped writingsongs.
I found a formula, I stuck toit.

Tiffany Mason (09:21):
I have to imagine that's kind of tricky though,
like you do kind of find a sweetspot or what's kind of fun, and
then you're like OK, crap, howdo we make it different, how do
we shake it up, how do we make adifferent tempo or use
different instruments?

Billie Jo Jones (09:32):
You know I've written a few songs by myself,
but I definitely am a firmbeliever that I am meant to
co-write.
I love co-writing.
I love even taking what someoneelse has already done the
majority of, and I come in thereand kind of like fix things or
move things or switch this tothis way or whatever.
I like fixing things like thatas well.
But I love co-writing becauseit keeps me on my toes and keeps

(09:54):
it fresh and we always come upwith something new and different
every time we sit down.

Jay Franze (10:00):
All right.
Well, the last time you werehere, you were telling us about
a little project you had goingon, but you couldn't share the
title or what it was going to be.
Now you can share.

Billie Jo Jones (10:13):
I can finally so please share.
It was so hard.
It was so hard to keep thisdang secret, but I am one of the
12 finalists on the new TV showthat is coming to CBS and
Paramount Plus October 19th.
It's called the Road, and I'mone of the 12 finalists on there
, and so I got to go and competeagainst 11 other artists and we

(10:36):
went open for Keith Urban, which was freaking awesome.
So, yeah, see, everyone needsto tune in to CBS and Paramount
Plus October 19th.
This show was produced byTaylor Sheridan and Blake
Shelton, and you know everythingthat Taylor touches like it
turns to gold.
So I expect nothing less forthis show.
And you know not to knock theother TV shows, but this one is

(10:57):
completely different thananything that's out there and
it's just going to be awesome.
It's going to be awesome.

Tiffany Mason (11:02):
It sounds like such a fun concept.

Jay Franze (11:05):
We can share it here .
First, you won right.

Billie Jo Jones (11:08):
I cannot say that.
I cannot say that you will haveto watch the show.

Jay Franze (11:16):
I mean it took a while, but you pulled it out at
the end, right?

Billie Jo Jones (11:20):
I mean, you just have to watch the show and
find out.
That's all I can say.
I'm under strict NDA contract.

Jay Franze (11:27):
So what you're saying is you can't tell us you
won, but that wink is that whatthat meant?

Billie Jo Jones (11:35):
I cannot say anything.
I cannot say anything.

Jay Franze (11:39):
Tell us a piece of the show that you can tell us
what was it like traveling withthese people?

Billie Jo Jones (11:43):
Oh, it was awesome.
I can't say a whole lot aboutit, except for it is a singing.
It's a singing competition, butwe, you know, got to go on the
road and travel on this tour busfrom place to place and the
crowd voted each night that weperformed.
The crowd is the one whoactually voted to see who got to

(12:04):
stay in the competition, tokeep going and opening for Keith
throughout the journey.
So it's really really cool.
It's going to be really fun towatch.
It's not one of those superdrama-filled crazy messes that
go on.
I can't stand.
I shouldn't say this, but I'mnot big on reality TV shows, if

(12:25):
that makes sense, but yet I'm onone, so I guess it's just a
thing.

Tiffany Mason (12:30):
You're on a music competition show, I'm on a
music competition show that'sreal.

Billie Jo Jones (12:35):
It's real life.
We are real musicians that havebeen working our tails off.
I mean me personally.
I've been playing in my bandfor over 10 years and to be able
to be given the spotlight andto be given this opportunity is
life changing and incredible, and I'm so honored to be part of
the show, no matter whathappens.

Jay Franze (12:52):
Do you have 15 new friends?

Billie Jo Jones (12:54):
Oh, yeah, I mean, everyone on the show is
amazing, and there's one inparticular that I probably can't
share just yet, but I got closeto one of the girls on the show
and so they'll you'll see thatat some point.
But but yeah, everyone wassuper nice.
We were all cheering for eachother.
I mean it, it was a competition, but it really didn't feel like
.
It didn't feel like acompetition, if that makes sense

(13:16):
, because we were all, you know, cheering each other on,
encouraging each other orhelping each other up, you know,
after a bad time or you know, whatever you, it's just one of
those things that everyone wasjust great and I, you know,
thoroughly enjoyed being a partof that show.

Jay Franze (13:31):
What did you learn from this exercise here?

Billie Jo Jones (13:34):
Oh gosh, I mean , I learned so much and there's
just, honestly, being in thepresence of Keith Urban number
one getting to know him, and notonly just getting to know him,
but he is one heck of aperformer and there's not very
many people that I would go paya lot of money to, like stand in

(13:58):
the front row to watch performor sing or whatever, because I'm
just picky or number one, Idon't like crowds, you know,
like one of those things.
But he is someone that I, if Ihad you know all the money in
the world, I would pay, howevermuch it costs, to go stand front
row right in front of him andwatch him perform, because he is
truly incredible, he is anartist and he's an entertainer

(14:22):
and he does it very, very welland I know all of us learned,
all of us learned so much fromhim, so that was awesome.

Tiffany Mason (14:30):
I thought you said Elvis, but you said all of
us.

Billie Jo Jones (14:32):
All of us Elvis .
I love Elvis too.

Tiffany Mason (14:36):
I was like is that one of the contestants?
Did she just accidentally sayone of the names?
I?

Jay Franze (14:39):
always left the building.

Tiffany Mason (14:41):
No, no, I didn't.
That's funny.
Billy joe, how did this umcompare to your other tv singing
show experiences?

Billie Jo Jones (14:49):
oh gosh, it's hard because I'm not gonna say
names one of the tv shows that Iwas on.
I really did not care for theother one, I actually really
liked it.
It was.
It was really cool.
Um, I learned a lot from there.
Then there was another one thatI was on.
It was really cool.
They treated you like royaltywhen you were on the show.

(15:10):
But this one and I'm not justsaying it just because I'm like
I have to like I don't have tosay this, but like this one
hands down.
If anyone, if I was ever to tellanyone to go and try to be a
part of anything, this TV show,I'm telling you, is going to be
around for a very long time.
I would encourage anyone thatis, you know, truly an artist,
like not if you've, if you'rejust now starting out singing

(15:32):
and you're just now starting toplay your first few gigs or
something.
No, I don't really think thatthis show is for you, because
you've got to be ready, you'vegot to be on your A game, you've
got to have been able, you'vegot to have been, you know,
doing this for a long time.
You've got to have theexperience, because what you're
about to do is crazy.
It's a little crazy some of thestuff that we did.
So that's what I was going toask is do you feel like it gave

(16:13):
you know this one you're gonefor however long?
You know, a few weeks at a time, and, and and normal touring
musicians like Keith Urban orLainey Wilson.
They go out for six weeks andcome home for a couple of weeks
and go out.
You know that I don't do that.
I've never done that.
I've never been away from mykids for that long.
You know stuff like that.
So it was.
It's one of those.
It truly is an eyeopeningexperience and it really does

(16:37):
show you like are you ready forthis?
Can you handle this?
Do you have what it takes?
I think.
And so it's.
It's incredible.
It's a really awesomeexperience.

Jay Franze (16:45):
So how proud are your kids?

Billie Jo Jones (16:48):
They're so proud, they, uh, they're excited
.
I think they're also a littlenervous because they don't know
what pictures or videos I, youknow, have sent in, you know,
for my storytelling of, you know, showing them my kids and stuff
.
So they're all like oh, my gosh, mom, what picture did you use?
Like, do I look terrible?
You know, because my oldest is15 and my youngest is eight and
I have four kiddos, and sothey're all.

(17:08):
I think they're all a littlenervous on what's going on and
what embarrassing thing am Igoing to say or do?
There's probably some of thosemoments that'll be coming out to
you.

Jay Franze (17:18):
Just because you mentioned the other shows, can
you tell us the title of thoseshows?

Billie Jo Jones (17:23):
I can.
I won't tell you which one iswhich, but I was on a TV show
called Real Country with ShaniaTwain, jake Owen and Travis
Tritt.
I was on American Idol and thenI was on the Voice, so this one
is definitely like you know, the road is hands down.
I think it's going to be ahousehold name for many years.

Jay Franze (17:44):
So I think the difference between those shows
is that the ones you were onpreviously are for people to be
discovered in the first place, where this one is for seasoned
musicians who already know howto perform and travel.

Billie Jo Jones (17:57):
That's a good way to put it.
I was trying to like say thatand like couldn't.
I don't know, my brain wasn'tworking.

Jay Franze (18:04):
Well, you keep saying the things you can't say,
can't say, can't say, whichjust means you want to come back
on the show again.

Billie Jo Jones (18:11):
I do, I would love to.
I always love being on yourshow.
I was so sad when we had toreschedule last time.
Oh, I love having you and itwas so much fun getting to meet
your daughter at CMA Fest.
That was absolutely precious.
Well, thank you.
So you have to tell her that Isaid hi.

Jay Franze (18:25):
My daughter.
I'm glad you brought that up,because I would have forgot to
tell you my daughter is heavilyinto sign language, and she does
sign language cover tunes andshe did one for one of your
songs, so I wanted her to.

Billie Jo Jones (18:45):
She's not feeling well today, but I wanted
to have her show it to youtoday.
Yeah, but tell her to show meor send a video.
You have my number, so so sendme a video of her or something,
or maybe we can facetime orsomething and she can show me,
because I would love to see it.
That's awesome.
All right, my friend.

Jay Franze (18:55):
Well, I know we have to let or something and she can
show me because I would love tosee it.
That's awesome.
All right, my friend.
Well, I know we have to let yougo, but I can't thank you
enough for joining us tonightand sharing what you have shared
with us, and we will get youback here to share the rest.

Billie Jo Jones (19:04):
Well, thank you so much for having me.
I appreciate it y'all so goodto see you.

Tiffany Mason (19:11):
So nice to meet you back and talk about your
album and your whole experienceonce we know you did in fact win
, so it's going to be great.

Jay Franze (19:18):
Well, thank y'all so much it needs to be shared here
first, even if it's like 30minutes before the last episode
airs.
Just saying.

Billie Jo Jones (19:27):
We'll make it happen.
We'll make something happen.

Jay Franze (19:29):
All right, my friend , you have a good night.

Billie Jo Jones (19:32):
Bye, thank you, bye now.

Jay Franze (19:38):
Well, there you go miss tiffany, miss billy, joe
jones couldn't be any morefabulous.

Tiffany Mason (19:41):
She's awesome, isn't?

Jay Franze (19:42):
she, yeah, was that the one yeah artist that you did
not get to meet at cma?

Tiffany Mason (19:46):
I did not.

Jay Franze (19:47):
She was the first one that my daughter and I we
rushed into town to see her tocatch her before she left, but
it was very cool.
It was good to see her, tocatch her before she left.
But it was very cool.
It was good to see her.
Then it was good to have herback on the show.

Tiffany Mason (19:59):
I agree, pretty cool.
I'm anxious to see this newtelevision show, to see what
it's like I mean, I feel like webroke that news first here that
the Road was going to berecorded.

Jay Franze (20:12):
We did talk about it months ago.
Yeah, yeah, but it's nice tohave somebody from the show come
on it's nice it will be nice ifyou know what we were saying is
actually true and she doesactually win.

Tiffany Mason (20:23):
She probably does , of course.
Of course She'll show it Nice.
Well, I thought it might benice to address the elephant in
the room.

Jay Franze (20:37):
My wife here.
Sorry, babe, sorry if you'relistening, just a joke.

Tiffany Mason (20:45):
But talking about Brandon Blackstock passing away
on August 7th, that was so sadto see Kelly mourning the loss
of her ex-husband and nowtalking about Raymond McIntyre
that is her stepson, her oldestson, and said they will miss him
dearly.
Reba skipped recent tapings ofthe Voice with insiders calling

(21:06):
this the biggest heartbreak ofher life, which is so sad.
Biggest heartbreak, I'm sure, for Kelly Clarkson.
And just like my pastor alwayssays, there's no hurt like kid
hurt and I can't imagine whatthat feels like.
To comfort those kids arelittle, so to comfort them.
You know, losing their dad isterrible.

(21:27):
The next story is kind ofcombined with it.
So just hold on and then we'regoing to go into happy times.
Okay, so I planned this onpurpose, okay, okay.
So then Dolly Parton, speakingwith entertainment tonight, she
shared heartfelt thoughts withboth Reba and Kelly Clarkson
following Brandon's death.
She said cherish memories, honor the legacy and draw from

(21:50):
their energy, as she is stillprocessing her own sorrow after
losing her husband earlier thisyear and I think last week we
even talked about Kelly Clarksonsinging I Will Always Love you.

Jay Franze (22:02):
Yeah, yeah, she sang that at her residency.

Tiffany Mason (22:06):
She's been in the news a lot with us as far as
her residency in Vegas and thenher doing that cover and then
now Brandon passing, so maybenext week we'll give it a break.
No, if she can keep herself outof the news, you're welcome
here at all times, kelly.

Jay Franze (22:22):
SheaFranzycom join us.
I heard somebody talking abouther on the news the passing of
her ex and everything.
And they were saying how?
You know, she didn't even likehim, didn't even get along with
him, so just go ahead and getover it.

Tiffany Mason (22:40):
It's like, really , that's the approach you want
to take.
No, I don't think it's thateasy.
Well, it's not.
I think once somebody passes, like for whatever reason, you
know, it's like all the positivethings come rushing back to you
.
You know, you don't rememberthe arguments.
You remember, you know all thegood times, the good
anniversaries, when you had yourchildren, when you got married.
You know all those things.
I think is what comes rushingback to you.
And I thought it was reallysweet to um.
You know we gotta throw outjelly rolls name, because a week

(23:02):
without jelly roll, I don'tknow how we do it.
This was not a technicalcollaboration, but he said that
she sang somebody save me whenhe, yeah, when she, when he
didn't have words for himselfand so he sang that for her, um,
in her time of need.
So just kind of cool that youget to see, I guess, the artists

(23:23):
as real people from time totime.
You know, you get littleglimpses into who they really
are.
So pretty cool, okay.
Well, I said dolly was onentertainment tonight, but two
days prior, on the 5th, she wasofficially recognized as
Guinness World Records icon.
So we have talked about her.
We knew she should have beennumber one, her or Ripa Okay,

(23:48):
and this just proves it evenmore.
She holds 11 titles, includingmost studio albums by a female
artist, most Grammy nominationsand only country artists with
top 20 hits across seven decades.
At 79, her humility shines asbright as her legacy and she

(24:09):
will always be like this bright, shiny, rhinestone-y, diamond-y,
sparkly, fiery yeah.
Tell me the top three songs fromDolly, top three I Will Always
Love you, or I Will Always Loveyou, and, yeah, I Will Always
Love you.
A Kenny Rogers and a DollyParton song, oh, You're failing

(24:38):
the exercise.
I know Something about rosesand 9 to 5.

Jay Franze (24:47):
I was waiting for Jolene.

Tiffany Mason (24:49):
Damn it.
That's what the roses one was.

Jay Franze (24:54):
Is that what it was?
I don't know if you're aware ofthis, but she wrote Jolene and
I will always love you on thesame day.

Tiffany Mason (25:03):
How do you do that?
See, this is why we need totalk to the people who made that
list.
You write two blockbusters inone day?
Yeah, come on.

Jay Franze (25:11):
How do you not be number one?
That's just a Thursday.

Tiffany Mason (25:14):
Whatever that's just a Thursday.
Whatever it's just a Tuesday.

Jay Franze (25:16):
You should see the rest of the week, but yeah, she
should be more productive.
I just always thought that wasamazing.

Tiffany Mason (25:25):
Wow.
Well, we all know she's amazing, but that just proves it even
more.
Okay, well, this one is not asexciting, or maybe it's riveting
.
Carly Pierce.

Jay Franze (25:37):
Carly.

Tiffany Mason (25:38):
Pierce.
She was opening a bottle ofranch dressing after a concert
in New Jersey of course, newJersey.
The bottle shattered, it slicedher thumb badly enough that
on-site paramedics insisted sheget stitches and went by
ambulance to the hospital, insisted she get stitches and
went by ambulance to thehospital.

(25:59):
No way in hell is anybodyconvincing me to get in an
ambulance when my thumb needs tobe stitched.
She later shared the mishap ontic-tac with you in tic-tac
tic-tac with humor and remindedfans to be careful.
Despite managing her seriousheart condition, she remains
scheduled to perform soon.

Jay Franze (26:18):
You want to tie her into Dolly too.

Tiffany Mason (26:20):
Why don't you give it a stab?

Jay Franze (26:22):
Okay, Thank you.
Thank you for the opportunity.
When she was a teenager, sheperformed at Dollywood for about
I think it was five years.
Oh, really yeah she would singmultiple shows a day for five
years as a teenager.

Tiffany Mason (26:39):
So this is now the Dolly Parton show.

Jay Franze (26:41):
This is the Dolly Parton show.
I just thought if you want tokeep tying things to Dolly.
I'll see what I can do on thenext one.

Tiffany Mason (26:49):
I'm going to challenge you.

Jay Franze (26:50):
I'm going to accept it.

Tiffany Mason (26:53):
You guys heard it here.
Jay is coming up with moredolly facts for us next week.
Okay, kathy matea, the 1980scountry star, was stunned when
legend charlie mccoy invited heron stage to join the grand old
opry after decades of his hits.
Like walking away a winner, sheaccepted with visible emotion.

(27:14):
Her formal induction is is setfor October 11th in Nashville.
Way to go, kathy Matea.

Jay Franze (27:21):
Kathy Matea.
You know how I likefemale-fronted rock bands.

Tiffany Mason (27:25):
Yes.

Jay Franze (27:26):
She was once offered an opportunity to be the female
front of a rock band.
She turned it down to be acountry artist.
I would have liked to have seenwhat she would have done.

Tiffany Mason (27:37):
I bet you would.

Jay Franze (27:41):
Don't get me started .

Tiffany Mason (27:42):
Speaking of a female-fronted rock band.
The acclaimed producer DaveCobb, famed for his country
Americana work, teamed up withhard rock band Hailstorm to
create their new album everest, recorded in a house in savannah
rather than his usual music rowstudio, pushing the band into

(28:04):
fresh creative zones.
What we were just talking aboutwith billy joe jones and
actually I know I'm gonna letthe cat out of the bag early for
the crew members, but we didget to talk to Chris Rasmus and
he talked about getting out ofhis comfort zone in that
interview and also freshcreative zones for him.

Jay Franze (28:28):
Chris, you're Rasmus .

Tiffany Mason (28:31):
That's what I said.

Jay Franze (28:31):
Yeah, no, I just wanted to make it clear the
accent.
Sometimes, you know, it doesn'tcome through clear.

Tiffany Mason (28:39):
My microphone yeah.

Jay Franze (28:42):
Dave Cobb, his studio.
You know traditional Nashvillestyle stuff.
He's typically producingcountry artists, but with
Hailstorm he did push them outof their comfort zone, not only
by taking his practice out ofthe studio and into a home,
making it, in my opinion, morecomfortable, but he also pushed
the band out of their comfortzone and he took the songs that

(29:05):
they came to the session withand tossed them aside and said
he wanted to write from scratch.
So he helped them get throughtheir songs from scratch and, as
they would perform and work onthe songs, he would record them.
So what you're hearing is theactual recordings of their
writing.
They didn't record the demo andthen say, okay, now let's go

(29:26):
polish it and re-record it.
They just whatever they laiddown.

Tiffany Mason (29:31):
He kept now that song that we told the crew
members about Dark Thoughts isthat on Everest.

Jay Franze (29:37):
Yes.
That was the first single.

Tiffany Mason (29:41):
Okay, cool.

Jay Franze (29:42):
And it's a perfect example of, in my opinion, of
experimentation, because if youlisten to the way the song
starts, it has a very slow startto it, but when it kicks in it
kicks in.
If you're used to Hillstorm'stypical music, this one takes a
little bit to get used to, butonce it kicks in and everything
you know.
It's a great song.

Tiffany Mason (30:04):
Yeah, you said you don't know Dave Cobb really
well.
I was going to ask is he moreof a creative producer?
It seems like it or is he moreof a technical producer?

Jay Franze (30:13):
My understanding.
I've never worked with him, butmy understanding is he's very
on the creative side.

Tiffany Mason (30:18):
Mm-hmm, it would seem so Very cool.
Well, we have Kane Brown in thenews.
He, the new ABC procedural 911Nashville, will premiere October
9th and it features Kane Brownplaying a heroic character in a
concert scene.
Weird that we'd see him in aconcert scene.
The cast includes Leigh-AnneRimes and other promising drama

(30:42):
and musical flair.
I am really addicted to thatBackseat Driver song.
Like I want to hate it, but youknow, there's just some songs
for some reason.
I maybe, maybe I'm just, I'lljust speak for myself.
There's some songs I'm like Idon't want to like this song but
I do love it so much because Ican just see her in the back

(31:02):
seat.
She's got her little orangejuice and she got her little
feet dangling out of her carseat and she's just looking out
and she's just popcorn.
I call them popcorn thoughtswhen you just like kind of one
thought after another and yousay them out loud but it feels
to me like she's having theselittle popcorn thoughts and how
cute.
And then kane brown like eversince that song with his wife.
I'm like this is a family manand easy on the eyes.

(31:27):
My favorite combination is thatloation skin I think that's
what they call it where it'slike black skin mixed with white
and the blue eyes and like yeah, so kane brown has been on my
list for a while to go see inconcert.
I would like to go see him.
I feel like he just loves hisfamily and I don't know, I just
love that.
Very attractive on top of hislooks.

(31:47):
Are you attracted to him, jay?

Jay Franze (31:51):
you know, I really, I really tried, but I just
couldn't get myself to do it.

Tiffany Mason (31:56):
No, no, okay, well, but.

Jay Franze (31:58):
Kate, if you want to come on the show, Miss Tiffany
would like to talk to you.

Tiffany Mason (32:01):
I sure would.
J-franzycom, I sure would.
Okay, bailey Zimmerman isdifferent than you, so his
second studio album, hissophomore album, finally
released August 8th, afterdelays due to his mother's
illness, which is very sad.

(32:22):
It includes collaborations withLuke Combs, diplo and Kid Leroy
.
Zimmerman is currently on hisnew New to Country summer tour.
Oh my gosh, I'm surprised JellyRoll's not on there.
Where is Jelly Roll on thiscollaboration list?
No collab.

Jay Franze (32:39):
He's another one.
He was discovered on TikTok Nottoo long ago either.

Tiffany Mason (32:45):
No Right.

Jay Franze (32:46):
I mean 2020, during COVID.
He was discovered on TikTok andonly because he wasn't working
I mean he was I'm going to saythis and regret it.

Tiffany Mason (32:55):
It's okay, jay let it out.

Jay Franze (33:08):
Let it out.
He was a pipe layer, so I hopeeverybody's laughing with me.
He was a pipe layer and then atthe start of COVID, he, we're
not going left with him, notdoing it.

Tiffany Mason (33:19):
But, anyways, he decided to start you know,
getting into music.
Oh wow, there you go.
He was on.
We have at Jack's, I guess, jacksonville Beach for people
who are not local, for locals atJack's Beach.
He was here last year forCountry Fest and did like a free
performance.

Jay Franze (33:38):
He was just at that fest that we had here in town
last week.

Tiffany Mason (33:41):
Oh yeah.

Jay Franze (33:42):
Voices of America, but you said his sophomore
effort that he's putting out.
He was pushed to recordNashville-style songs and
refused.
I want to do what's natural tome and if that's not good, he
goes.
I'm fine with going back to myold job.
Yeah, now that's the voice of a25 year old.

(34:04):
Oh yeah, for sure, because youthink this is going to come
around again, Guess what Well.

Tiffany Mason (34:12):
I mean it also makes me think of again our
interview with Chrisris where hewas saying, you know, he had a
contract proposed to him and hewas like I'm worth more, you
know, and so it kind of feelslike bailey zipperman was like
I'm gonna make the music I wantto make, which I respect so much
more than it being about themoney.

Jay Franze (34:32):
Yeah which I get it.

Tiffany Mason (34:34):
I mean it's a big deal, but it's also a big deal
to be authentic to who you arethere has to be a balance and
that's why we're doing this show, jay, so we can be authentic to
who we are well, when they saybalance, they don't mean us two
on the side of a teeter-totterokay, well, all right.

(34:54):
And last but not least, butshortly before Zach Bryan's San
Francisco show, bryan mocked theKansas City Chiefs over their
Super Bowl loss, announcing he'dnever perform in Kansas City
again.
He later softened, expressingaffection for nearby Bonner
Springs.
His behavior continues to fueldebate.
Come on, zach, you gotta behave, you gotta play the politics.

(35:19):
Actually, maybe he's balanced,he's being authentic.
Maybe he just doesn't like theChiefs.
Maybe he doesn't like thatTaylor's dating Kelsey and
that's a conflict of interestfor him.

Jay Franze (35:31):
Whoa, everybody likes that.

Tiffany Mason (35:34):
It's true.

Jay Franze (35:35):
It's so true, team.

Tiffany Mason (35:36):
Taylor?
Are we coming up with acombination of their name, like
Bennifer?
No what is Taylor, there's noneed for that no.

Jay Franze (35:44):
No, okay, nope, just Team.

Tiffany Mason (35:45):
Taylor.
Nope, okay, team Taylor.

Jay Franze (35:47):
Travis is on Team Taylor.

Tiffany Mason (35:50):
True that he's laying pipe?
I would hope so.

Jay Franze (35:57):
Oh, let's move on.

Tiffany Mason (36:00):
Jay, refresh my memory.
What was the question of the?

Jay Franze (36:05):
day.
Oh, I'm glad you mentioned that.
What are some songs that do nothave the name of the song in
the chorus?
What are some songs where thetitle does not appear in the
chorus?

Tiffany Mason (36:18):
and I want to tell you why I suggested this
last week oh, dear god, tell memy husband's favorite restaurant
, which I hate going to, butevery time we go there it never
fails.
They're having music trivia,I'm like yes and then I go to
guess the name of a song whichwe've established.
I know lyrics you're a lyricartist.

(36:39):
Yes, I don't know artists.
Sometimes I know the title ofthe song, but anyways, so it
will never fail.
One of these songs will come up.
I'm like dang it, you know, like I gave it my best stab, but
no, it was no dice, because thetitle is not in the course, and
so this happens to me often.

Jay Franze (36:59):
I didn't give credit last week to Mark.
Mark submitted the question forlast week and if you would like
to submit your questions, please do so.
You can send it to Jay atjayfrenzycom or you can DM me on
any of the socials, but wewould love to ask your questions
as well.

Tiffany Mason (37:16):
Absolutely.

Jay Franze (37:17):
All right, shall we start.

Tiffany Mason (37:20):
Do it, do it, jay , do it.

Jay Franze (37:22):
Let's start with the most important man in country
music.
Emily says George StraitAmarillo by morning.
Now, is that true?

Tiffany Mason (37:35):
No, because it's Amarillo by morning.
Amarillo's on my mind, so we'regoing to pass on Emily's.

Jay Franze (37:49):
Mike.
Mike says Chris StapletonTennessee Whiskey.

Tiffany Mason (37:53):
Because you're a smooth Tennessee Whiskey.

Jay Franze (38:01):
All right, moving on .
Laura says yeah, ready.
Laura says Miranda Lambert, theHouse that Built Me.
I'm afraid to keep readingthese at this point.

Tiffany Mason (38:13):
Me too.
Oh, take nothing from a memory, from the house that built me.
It's the last line of thelyrics.

Jay Franze (38:21):
Well, I'll give it to her.
It's typically a repetitiveline through a chorus, but the
last line is still in the chorus, technically.

Tiffany Mason (38:31):
It's said like three times.
Let me interrupt the flow andI'm going to give you mine,
which is Green Day.
Good Riddance, that is notanywhere in that chorus.

Jay Franze (38:45):
It's not anywhere in the song.
I'm going to let you interruptonly because I didn't offer it
to you at the beginning.

Tiffany Mason (38:50):
Well, I could have waited, but I want to draw
a picture of what I was lookingfor, and another one.
When I was in high school, nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit.
I was always like what is thename of this song again?
What is the name of this songagain?
And I think it has tripped meup in the old trivia.

Jay Franze (39:10):
I'm going to bump it to the top of the list here,
but your mother says BohemianRhapsody by Queen.

Tiffany Mason (39:17):
Oh good job, mom yes.

Jay Franze (39:19):
Now that's on here a couple times.
So at least, we're getting backon track here, but thank you.
Miss Kathy, Thank you forcalling me the other day.
It was a very nice conversation.
Oh my gosh.

Tiffany Mason (39:34):
How did she get your number?
You gave it to her, you reachedout to her.

Jay Franze (39:38):
What are you wearing ?
What are you wearing, MissKathy?

Tiffany Mason (39:44):
That's a whole other show, Jay.

Jay Franze (39:46):
Oh, I'm sorry, that's the after hours your
mother says she was going to sayNirvana that Tiffany stole my
thunder and then she said thatI'm welcome, Wow.

Tiffany Mason (40:00):
You want Jay to steal your thunder Mom.

Jay Franze (40:05):
Kevin says Brad Paisley Whiskey Lullaby.

Tiffany Mason (40:10):
I don't know that song.

Jay Franze (40:12):
So it's one that we can't fight.
You're in a fighting moodtonight.

Tiffany Mason (40:16):
I'm just saying, I am feisty, feisty.

Jay Franze (40:20):
Now Amy says Vince Gill, do you think it's Amy
Grant?

Tiffany Mason (40:25):
Probably.
I think she probably tunes inon the regular amy, if that's
truly you, please let us know.

Jay Franze (40:33):
She says vince gill, go rest high on the mountain oh
, that sounds like a hymn theheart of the song is in the
message, not the title.
Isn't that nifty Mark D.
Remember last week we had FrankD that I said might be somebody
I knew.

(40:53):
Well, frank D has a son namedMark.
Could it be coincidence?
I don't know, mark, if you'rethe son of Frank, let us know.
He says Garth Brooks the Dance.

Tiffany Mason (41:08):
Could have missed the dance.

Jay Franze (41:11):
See, I'm getting disappointed.
You're disappointing me.
I would have read these allthinking they were true, but
when you sing them I'm like, no,that's there.
I know that for sure.

Tiffany Mason (41:21):
Sorry, Jay.

Jay Franze (41:24):
I'm losing faith tonight, mark.
If you are son of Frank, I'mlosing faith tonight, mark, if
you are Son of Frank, I'mdisappointed.
Anthony Says Fade to blackMetallica.
Now you're a Metallica fan.

Tiffany Mason (41:42):
I don't pay attention to the lyrics, I'm
kind of busy.

Jay Franze (41:45):
Oh, mercy, I don't pay attention to the lyrics.
I'm kind of busy.
Oh, mercy.
Anthony also says Surfacing bySlipknot.
Joe says Bohemian Rhapsody.
Like I mentioned, it is on hereseveral times.
Your mother's still chiming in.

Tiffany Mason (42:10):
Space Odyssey by.

Jay Franze (42:11):
David Bowie.

Tiffany Mason (42:13):
You know what I'm proud of her, because that's
one that she like knows.

Jay Franze (42:18):
Maya Project.
Music says Enjoy the Silence byDepeche Mode.

Tiffany Mason (42:23):
My uncle is a big fan of Depeche Mode.

Jay Franze (42:27):
Turtle Rose Music.
Turtle Rose Music says GordySampson Hanging on by a wire.

Tiffany Mason (42:40):
Okay, if you guys don't want us to argue with you
, you have to put out moreobscure songs.
There you go.

Jay Franze (42:46):
Grayson Turner says Back to Sleep.
Oh, he says, but that's my song, alright Good.
Alright, grayson, you want tocome on and tell us a little bit
more about it?
Jfrenzycom.

Tiffany Mason (43:02):
I'd love to hear it.
The Girl 6132 I liked it betterwhen girl 6132.

Jay Franze (43:10):
I liked it better when you were using names.
I know I tell you not to putyour names in there, but it
might be better for you.
She says Unforgettable Fire byU2.
No, this might be your husband,I don't know.
But it says Prince Charming.
71 says Bohemian Rhapsody.

Tiffany Mason (43:33):
Heck yeah.

Jay Franze (43:37):
Grable.
Paul G-R-A-B-L-E Grable.

Tiffany Mason (43:43):
Grable.

Jay Franze (43:45):
Grable, you're probably right, I don't know.
Either way.

Tiffany Mason (43:47):
Tomato tomato.

Jay Franze (43:50):
Many of panic at the disco songs, so he's not even
going to give us one.

Tiffany Mason (43:56):
Many oh, I think that's actually true At the
disco songs.
I think that's true.

Jay Franze (44:00):
Okay.

Tiffany Mason (44:02):
But I will be honest, I don't like when they
do that Because it makes triviaharder.
Nice.
I am a fan of the title beingin the chorus, but this is a
tough one, me too, just alludeto the name of the song Also,
because then when you're lookingon an album you're like I want
to play that one song.
There's been actually a coupleof Fleetwood Mac songs that I

(44:25):
was like huh, I didn't realizethat was the name of that song.

Jay Franze (44:29):
Zachary says Superstar by the Carpenters.

Tiffany Mason (44:33):
And that might be actually one of them, because I
have that record.
It's not Fleetwood Mac, but andTarm.

Jay Franze (44:42):
he was on here last week, oh thanks for coming back.
He says Fade to black Metallica.

Tiffany Mason (44:49):
Hmm, that must be true.

Jay Franze (44:53):
Up my says Iris by the Google dolls.

Tiffany Mason (44:57):
I think that's true.
Good job.

Jay Franze (45:02):
Moving on to the charts, you can be fired next
week, okay, well, oh yeah.

Tiffany Mason (45:04):
Oh yeah, we started the 10.
We started the 10.
God, I was excited about one.
You can be fired next week, okay Well, oh yeah, oh yeah, we
started at the 10.
We started at the 10.
God, I was excited about one.
I'm so excited about one.
Okay, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10.
Okay, 10.
I'm very excited about this onetoo.
It is Scotty McCreary BottleRockets.
Oh yeah, I was.
Have you heard the song, but Idid a review on it, hello.

Jay Franze (45:25):
Yes, how can you not hear the song?
It's on the radio at least oncean hour.
It's a great song, it's so good.

Tiffany Mason (45:30):
It's such a great summer song.
It's a little cheesy but it'sreally cutesy and I love it and
I like Scotty McCreary so.

Jay Franze (45:36):
Darius Rucker was at the festival and they were
talking about you know.
They were asking if he wasgoing to actually play the
original song and he said yes.

Tiffany Mason (45:49):
Oh, that's very fun.
Okay, mr Russell Dickerson, hehas moved up to Happen to Me and
it was not registering.
But I was like, do I like thissong or not?
Yes, I do, because itreferences one of the 80s songs.
You know, we've got the yeahanyways, this is another one,
yes, yes.
So anyways, I'm very excitedabout that.

Jay Franze (46:11):
Okay, bailey zimmerman, that's my song and
where is it?
Where's it sit?

Tiffany Mason (46:17):
ah, your favorite number, numero ocho.
There you go.
Number eight, bailey zimmermanbackup plan.
If you haven't checked it out,you should.
It's a good song and I like theplay on words.

Jay Franze (46:30):
Okay, and it's from a young spitfire of a
25-year-old.

Tiffany Mason (46:34):
Yeah, who was like?
I'm going to make music I wantto make or I'm letting this
massive deal blow up.
I'm going to go back to layingsome pipe.
Whoa, whoa.

Jay Franze (46:50):
He's not even my type.

Tiffany Mason (46:53):
Yikes, Okay, number seven.
Luke Bryan with Country Songcame on and he moved from number
eight to number seven.
That's exciting.

Jay Franze (47:03):
I've said it enough, but I like him.

Tiffany Mason (47:06):
I know You're a big fan.
You got a big fan.
You got a boy crush.
All right, Number six Shaboosiewith a little bit of good news.
Really it's called good news.
I like to embellish, Sorry,it's called good news.
I should be reporting facts.
And he went from number sevento number six.

(47:26):
There's no fun in that.
All right, Number five NateSmith Fix what you Didn't Break.
Such a cute song.
But it slid from number four tonumber five.
Kathy Want to fix what his wifebroke.

Jay Franze (47:41):
Just saying Let me know if you're still there,
kathy.

Tiffany Mason (47:48):
Mom, if you do, you have to go to Kentucky for
it, so I don't know if you canget over that, I'll meet you in
the middle, okay, how?
Many fence posts?
Would that be A lot, becauseyou guys are both in the sticks.
I'm around a lot of farms, allright.
Number four Thomas Rhett.
After all the bars are closed,he went from number six to

(48:10):
number four, so he's climbingthe charts.
Mr Tyler Hubbard, he's stayingsteady with spot number three.

Jay Franze (48:20):
She doesn't care much about you.

Tiffany Mason (48:22):
We talked about it a lot the last time.

Jay Franze (48:24):
I've got something in my eye, Sorry I know it's
very distracting.
Tyler Hubbard Park, numberthree.

Tiffany Mason (48:30):
Park number three , numero tres.

Jay Franze (48:32):
Park is my native people speak.

Tiffany Mason (48:37):
In your Bostonian tongue.

Jay Franze (48:38):
I saw a video the other day that said the most
annoying accent in the countryand it was crossing off states
as it was going down and it gotto Massachusetts and just
circled Boston.

Tiffany Mason (48:53):
Well, I was telling somebody that I like how
you say A's and E's it must beall vowels.
But I was like he's from Bostonbut he doesn't have like the
strong Bostonian accent but thevowels have stayed, Like when
you say Sarah and Eric, SarahEvery time you say Eric, yeah
and Eric Church.
Eric Church.

Jay Franze (49:14):
So pretty vanilla that time I don't know what I'm
saying wrong.

Tiffany Mason (49:17):
You say Eric, it's almost like an A-E Eric.

Jay Franze (49:21):
Eric Church.
Eric Church.

Tiffany Mason (49:24):
Yeah, well, when you're thinking about it.

Jay Franze (49:25):
you say it more normal, Eric Church.

Tiffany Mason (49:26):
Yeah, no, eric.

Jay Franze (49:29):
Church, I don't know Eric Church, sarah, sarah with
an A, sarah with an H.

Tiffany Mason (49:33):
Okay, well, I want to talk about Morgan Wallen
.
Because my little South Africanlady, my Siri, has a South
African accent and she alwayssays, whatever the song, so in
this case it's spot number two, just in case.
But she'll say Now playing Justin Case, by Morgan Wolin, and I
can't help myself.

(49:53):
Every time I have to say itlike three or four times after
she says it.
I'm becoming OCD about sayingMorgan Wolin, after Siri, you're
becoming one of those old women.

Jay Franze (50:04):
This is what your future's going to hold.

Tiffany Mason (50:06):
Yikes, okay, well , it stayed at spot number two.
I think he was already at one,so I don't want to see it go
back.
He could, he could, but he'sgonna have to beat out number
one.

Jay Franze (50:23):
Jay, where's the drum roll?
You want a drum roll?
I could do it.
I could do it, I'm drumrollready.
Whenever you're ready, you justtell me when.

Tiffany Mason (50:29):
Okay are you ready?

Jay Franze (50:31):
No, go ahead.

Tiffany Mason (50:34):
Okay, in position number one, sam Hunt with
Country House.
It's so exciting for this girl.
We are just so off our rockers.
I was very excited to see MrSam Hunt sitting there at spot

(50:56):
number one.
From number five to number one,I want to live in a country
house.
Nice, so good, so good, love it.

Jay Franze (51:07):
I have nothing against it, but it's not my
favorite on that list well, weknow it's mine, so that's all
that matters.

Tiffany Mason (51:15):
I'm just gonna point out.

Jay Franze (51:17):
I was gonna say, obviously I like number eight.
Uh, backup planners yeah, but Ilike luke bryan there, but
scotty mccreary's song is atnumber 10.

Tiffany Mason (51:27):
I like that better debuting I know, it's
debuting, so it means it's gonnaclimb even more it's getting
more.

Jay Franze (51:33):
Where's it been for the past several weeks?

Tiffany Mason (51:36):
I don't know.
It's a great question.
I'm disappointed in people fornot requesting it more all right
yeah, and kind of like for therest of the country, like that's
kind of uh, that's the likesummer song, but for the country
, because kids are starting togo back to school like summer's
over.

Jay Franze (51:53):
So so it's just now appearing.

Tiffany Mason (51:57):
Yeah, they didn't promote it Right.
It should have been like bottlerocket right off after uh, may
30th or 31st however many daysare in May, tiffany you're fired
.

Jay Franze (52:16):
Nothing but facts.

Tiffany Mason (52:18):
I haven't heard Trump for a while.
Good to hear his voice again, even if he is being mean to me.

Jay Franze (52:24):
AI Trump for those listening.
What is going on this week?

Tiffany Mason (52:28):
I feel like it's ai trump for those listening
what is going on this week.
I feel like it's our news.
Is it our?

Jay Franze (52:31):
news.

Tiffany Mason (52:32):
Tell me what our news is we oh, I almost said
interrupted we interviewed chrisuramus, urasmus, chris Erasmus,
I don't think he's going tolike the fact that you said

(52:52):
Uranus.
I did not say that you did too, chris Uranus.

Jay Franze (52:57):
Why don't we start over.
Start that one over.

Tiffany Mason (53:01):
Well, because I feel like you're saying it
Erasmus.

Jay Franze (53:04):
That's correct.
Erasmus, erasmus, well, urasmus, that's correct Urasmus,
urasmus.

Tiffany Mason (53:11):
Well, I, okay.
Okay.
So we interviewed Chris.
It was a really good interview.
He's in London, but he's got aSouth African accent.
You guys.
I would listen solely becauseof that.
So if you need thatencouragement, go check it out,
just because he has a southafrican accent.
Otherwise, check it out becausehe lives in london.
He spent some time in montana, you guys.

(53:32):
He grew up on a farm and hespent some time in australia,
and him and jay have degreesfrom the same university.
Like such a great interviewfrom australia same institute in
australia.

Jay Franze (53:46):
Yeah university of queensland go UQ.

Tiffany Mason (53:49):
Okay.

Jay Franze (53:53):
Yes, and he also got a truck stuck in the mud in
London.

Tiffany Mason (53:57):
It's a rare thing to do and didn't even write a
country song about it.

Jay Franze (54:00):
Did not write a country song about it.
No, what.
It is a good episode.
It will be out on Monday.
If you would like to check itout, please do.

Tiffany Mason (54:11):
It was a good interview too, because he's so
multifaceted when it comes tohis fitness, the sports that
he's been in, or the athleticactivities, and then his music,
all the instruments that heplays Like growing up on a farm,
this guy like like seriously,an hour wasn't enough.
I mean I think we could haveasked him yes.

Jay Franze (54:32):
I think we could have asked him so many questions
.
That was his major at UQ.
It was supposed to be business, but he was majoring in the
decathlete, yeah.
Well, earlier you mentionedHailstorm.

Tiffany Mason (54:44):
Heck yeah.

Jay Franze (54:45):
Hailstorm is coming to town this weekend.

Tiffany Mason (54:49):
Oh my gosh.

Jay Franze (54:50):
I'm going to try my best to get out there and say
hello to Miss Lizzie Hale, if Ican.

Tiffany Mason (54:54):
Yeah, I'd like to do so.

Jay Franze (54:57):
You know, if only I had somebody to go with.
It always happens.
I'll probably just take one ofmy kids, take Lucy.
Lucy likes to go to the shows.

Tiffany Mason (55:09):
God, I love Lucy so much.
She just had a birthday right.
Happy birthday, lucy.

Jay Franze (55:15):
That's a good point.

Tiffany Mason (55:15):
She had a birthday this past week, today
or yesterday.

Jay Franze (55:18):
It was yesterday or two days ago, it was Monday it
was past weekend.

Tiffany Mason (55:22):
It was during the week the 11th.

Jay Franze (55:24):
It was during the week the 11th, but we started on
Friday, I think it was, ofcourse.
And what I don't understand iswhen did birthday parties for
kids become weekly events?
We had like four or fivedifferent parties each day.
What?

Tiffany Mason (55:39):
is up with that I mean on.

Jay Franze (55:41):
Saturday they went out for pedicures, her and a
group of friends.
They went out for pedicures, her and a group of friends.
Then, after pedicures, I metthem all out for dinner, which
was a different group of friends, some of the same but, a
different group of friends.
Yeah, Then after that we wentto a golfing range.
Yes, you know for whateverreason, 11-year-olds like to hit

(56:03):
golf balls.
Then after that they came tothe house for cake ice cream and
a sleepover.

Tiffany Mason (56:08):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Jay Franze (56:09):
Then they woke up and they went to the beach.

Tiffany Mason (56:12):
Yeah, this all sounds normal.

Jay Franze (56:13):
And then they came home and whatever they did after
that, I don't know.
I was no longer a part of it.
I left at the beach.

Tiffany Mason (56:19):
Right at that point you're like I'm paying for
nothing more.
So if you guys want to watchTikTok, if you guys want to go
somewhere else, I paid for themore I just didn't participate
in the more Trust me.
No, it's not like I was goingto get away from that.
No, I love Hannah's friends Allof them.

Jay Franze (56:37):
They all have either Apple Pay on their watch or
they've got.

Tiffany Mason (56:38):
Isn't that what you were telling me about the
other day?
Stop, all of her friends aregreat, but everybody has money.
So, like they'll be like Mom,can we go to Starbucks?
I'm like, who has money?
Does everybody have money?
And they're all like, yeah,we'll pay, we'll pay.
I'm like, okay, great, then youguys can go.
You know, miss Tiffany, willyou take us here?

Jay Franze (56:54):
What happens when you're in the area with the
yachts and the oh God time, though, and you know okay,
you're just gonna make fun of me.

Tiffany Mason (57:08):
They've got golf carts, so they can take your
golf carts out so they can takethemselves to the little town
center where they haveeverything there, you know.
And they're like, okay, we'regonna have panera for lunch and
we're gonna hang out for acouple hours.
Then we're gonna go tostarbucks, we're hanging out for
a couple more hours and we'regonna hit the grocery store and
then we'll come home and it'slike whoa, whoa, I don't get to
go out that much, you don't getto go out that much.

Jay Franze (57:28):
So sorry, friends absolutely go, go, oh, stop the
bleeding makes the house quiet,oh my god, tell me about your
time at the fair oh jay.

Tiffany Mason (57:40):
Well, first of all, I flew into des moines and
my niece picked me up and thenwhat that?
And then what?

Jay Franze (57:46):
Who flies into Des Moines?

Tiffany Mason (57:48):
There's nowhere else to fly into, jay, it's Iowa
.

Jay Franze (57:50):
But never has anybody ever spoken those words
before?

Tiffany Mason (57:56):
It was really cute because I am from Iowa and
Hannah was like we're going togo to Des Moines and I was like
don't ever say the S again.
Don't ever say the S again.
I'm like the s is silent.
I am from iowa and if mydaughter says the s I'm going to
be very embarrassed.
I'm like don't ever say the sagain.
Then I made a joke with her onthe plane going to des mons and
she was like I thought you don'tsay the s and I was like I mean

(58:17):
, I'm doing a joke now that'sall right.

Jay Franze (58:21):
My kid says louisville or no she says says
Louisville.

Tiffany Mason (58:25):
Louisville, louisville, louisville, I've
been told you have to try toswallow it, louisville.

Jay Franze (58:31):
Louisville, you can swallow it.

Tiffany Mason (58:35):
I am not swallowing it.
No, thank you.
Yes, so we had a great time inthe teeny, teeny, tiny town of
Centerville, iowa.
We checked out an Amish generalstore.
That was kind of fun.
I don't know if you have everseen Amish people, but it is a
little bit of a spectacle for us.
I don't know non-Amish people.

(58:56):
What am I trying to think ofIndustrialized?

Jay Franze (58:59):
We have a lot of the horse and buggies around.

Tiffany Mason (59:03):
Oh sure, because Ohio yes.

Jay Franze (59:05):
Ohio has a large population.
Ohio has a large population.

Tiffany Mason (59:07):
Pennsylvania has a large population yeah, yes, so
that was kind of fun to seethem out and their farms are
always so pristine.
But, honestly, like my heartjust swelled with pride.
I was just like, look at allthese open fields and the all
the corn and just the beanfields, and I don't know.
I just had like some weird warm, fuzzy little heart just

(59:29):
driving through all the opennessand just the green countryside
and I don't know.
It was like I don't know it wasa whole thing anyway.
So there was that.
And then the reason we wentoriginally I wanted to go was to
go see forest frank on thursday, but we changed our plans.
I think I shared with y'allthat we didn't know where we
were going to go and we ended upat Megan Maroney and I was like

(59:55):
, eh, I mean, we'll see.
I don't know.
And I'll tell you what.
I am one of the biggest fansnow and I don't like this, but I
do like this.
Somebody was like she's kind oflike the new Taylor Swift and I
was like, oh yes, with like thebreakup songs and she was
adorable, I mean, and her voicewas way better in person.

(01:00:17):
I mean it's fine on the radio, but you know, they all have kind
of a similar sound to them, alot of breakup songs.
No, it was so awesome to bethere and it was so awesome to
hear all these young girlsscreaming.
All the lyrics, I mean everysingle word, was so fun.
I had these two girls behind methat were probably I don't know
like 20 each or something andthey knew every word, but they

(01:00:40):
would make little side commentson all of the things and I don't
know.
It was great.
It was great energy.
And then it was so cool.
The grandstand has thiscovering on just the people that
are in the upper levels andthere was a flag placed, like I
don't know, every six feet orsomething on top and then there
were two service membersprotecting everybody and it just

(01:01:02):
felt so freaking cool Like I ama very patriotic person, so to
see these men up thereprotecting us.
And then my sister said sheknew one of them and I was like,
oh my gosh, it was just likenext level for me, like the
american flag was flying and wewere out doing like an american
thing and one of the mostamerican places you know, good
old-fashioned corn growing iowajust it was a whole experience,

(01:01:27):
you can sell Iowa all you want.

Jay Franze (01:01:29):
I don't think it's going to happen.
Hello, kaden, I had a greattime.
Kaden agrees with you.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:35):
I want to share that.
I got this Iowa Hawkeye shirt.
I'm pulling it out.

Jay Franze (01:01:39):
For those listening, she's showing us her tatas.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:44):
No, I'm showing you my Herky, my Iowa State
shirt that I picked up.
Oh, it was just so good.
It was so good, it was so goodto see my family, it was so good
to have my memory refreshed howbeautiful iowa is, and it was a
great trip I know you wereshowing your tatas, but did you
say hi to Kaden?
hi Kaden.

(01:02:04):
There you go, thank you you.
You love Megan as well.
She is even cuter in person Ifyou get an opportunity to see
her.
She's so adorable.
She's my spirit animal.
She might be my spirit animal.

Jay Franze (01:02:16):
She was very nice.
She was very nice to Lucy.
She let Lucy sing through hermicrophone and all that stuff.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:22):
Wait, revisit the story.
I don't remember things likethis.
What, what, what.
She got to meet Megan Maroney.

Jay Franze (01:02:28):
She did.
Thanks to Jeff King arrangedthat one.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:34):
Oh, my gosh.
Again, I want to be your kid.
How do I be Lucy?

Jay Franze (01:02:42):
I just like the fact that you keep wanting to call
me daddy.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:47):
Oh, and she did play who's your Daddy, and it
did bother me a little bit.
Yeah, Anyway, yes.

Jay Franze (01:02:53):
Megan Roni very nice , very cute, nice girl.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:57):
She is adorable, she's beautiful.
Her legs, oh my God, they'relike all muscle and then it's
hot in Iowa so they got like allshiny and I was like dang girl,
she'll look good, she'll lookgood.

Jay Franze (01:03:10):
Yes, she does.
Yes, caden, tribute to Toby.
We know who Tiffany's dad is.

Tiffany Mason (01:03:19):
I've got all 18 wheels here girl oh yeah we
should probably end this thingsoon.
