have some new birthdays come upin the month of June and I
wanted to talk about them alittle bit, but first you took
your glasses off.
Yeah, just noticing, I just wantto say I do notice these things
.
Tiffany Mason (02:04):
Thanks for
calling me out.
Why is that calling you out?
Wow, because I want to come offas young, like I don't need
them.
Jay Franze (02:13):
You are young, you
are so young.
Tiffany Mason (02:16):
Thank you.
Jay Franze (02:16):
You are not
experiencing a June birthday.
Tiffany Mason (02:19):
I am not.
I got six months still, soyou're with me then.
Jay Franze (02:22):
Alright, see you,
senior.
I got six months still, soyou're with me then.
Tiffany Mason (02:25):
Mm-hmm, all right
.
Jay Franze (02:27):
Si senor.
Let's start off with RonnieDunn.
Ronnie Dunn of the band.
Brooks and Dunn, born on June1st 1953.
Tiffany Mason (02:39):
Let me throw in a
birthday that you're not
expecting June 2nd.
The man who made me, Mr Statethat's my maiden name, State
Dennis State.
June 2nd yeah.
It's so weird I met Sean when Iwas so young.
I've been Mason longer thanI've been State Nice.
Jay Franze (03:00):
Yeah, you get
married at 12.
That's kind of odd these days, arranged marriages and stuff, oh
my gosh yeah.
All right.
Well, ronnie Dunn, june 1st1953.
I hate to say it, but he seemsolder than that.
Tiffany Mason (03:18):
You think he
seems older?
Jay Franze (03:21):
Yeah, because 1953
is not that far from me.
That just puts him in the 60s.
Right Seems older than that tome.
Sorry, Ronnie, Let me move onLee Bryce.
Lee Bryce had a chance to workwith Lee.
He was a nice guy, Born June10th 1979.
Tiffany Mason (03:43):
Ooh, that was a
good year.
Jay Franze (03:45):
And now it's sad to
say, but I would think Lee Bryce
was older than that.
So I'm just all jacked uptonight.
Tiffany Mason (03:56):
I would think he
was older too.
Jay Franze (03:58):
Plus, judging by his
photos, he's coming here to
town and he may have just beenhere last week, I think, but
either way, here in town, andhis photo for the event he just
looked like he was older he'scoming to Jacksonville he's a
good artist.
He was a writer for GarthBrooks and a few others before
(04:18):
he actually went on to be a soloartist.
Tiffany Mason (04:23):
I'm going to look
at images.
I'm going to see if I think helooks older than me or not.
Jay Franze (04:27):
I Drive your Truck.
Tiffany Mason (04:29):
Oh, I love that
song.
Jay Franze (04:30):
I love that song.
Tiffany Mason (04:32):
I love that song.
He looks like the same age asme.
Knock it off.
Jay Franze (04:38):
Okay, if you say so.
Next is Chris Young Chris.
Tiffany Mason (04:43):
Young, I like.
Jay Franze (04:44):
Chris Young.
Tiffany Mason (04:45):
Chris Young I
like Chris Young.
Jay Franze (04:47):
He recorded the same
studio but I never got to work
with him.
But he's born June 12th 1985.
Tiffany Mason (04:55):
He was on the TV
show Nashville.
Jay Franze (04:56):
Star, you remember
that show, by any chance.
Yes, yes, it was filmed at theWild Horse Saloon in Nashville.
Tiffany Mason (05:06):
Okay, it was
filmed at the Wild Horse Saloon
In Nashville.
Okay, I know you just said hisname, but tell me the name you
just said again.
Jay Franze (05:10):
Chris Young, it's
too early in the evening to fire
you.
Tiffany Mason (05:15):
No, I've got a
song by him.
That is getting in my way, andit might not be by him, but I
thought it was.
Oh, he sings Lonely Eyes.
Yeah, I was thinking of anotherone, but anyways, okay.
Jay Franze (05:31):
Yeah, chris Young,
june 12th 1985.
I don't know if you've ever hada chance to see the Wild Horse
Saloon, but it's a really coolvenue.
It's multiple levels and youcan look down at the stage.
Tiffany Mason (05:43):
It's not where
they do the line dancing, is it?
Oh yeah, at the end of Broadway.
Jay Franze (05:47):
It's not on Broadway
, it's down towards the bottom
of Broadway and it's whereSecond Cross is Broadway.
Tiffany Mason (05:53):
Yes, like
basically, if you looked at the
back of it, you'd look at thestadium.
Jay Franze (05:57):
Yes.
Tiffany Mason (05:58):
Yeah, I'm pretty
sure I was in there and I did
line dancing.
Is there a horse statue at thebar?
Jay Franze (06:05):
There, there, and I
did line dancing Is there a
horse statue at the bar.
Tiffany Mason (06:06):
There's hundreds
of them.
Okay, yeah, I think that'swhere I was.
Jay Franze (06:08):
Yeah, yeah, and they
used to film Crook and Chase at
that bar as well.
I mean another news relatedcountry show Very cool there you
go Will and Jennings, june 15th1937.
Now see, that seems right to me1937.
Tiffany Mason (06:25):
Now see, that
seems right to me.
Finally, one you can agree on.
Jay Franze (06:29):
Well, Chris Young, I
never would have expected him
to be that young.
Well it's in his name.
I knew you would go there, butthat seems odd.
Moving on, Blake Shelton, bornthe year of my wife, June 18th
1976.
Tiffany Mason (06:46):
I don't think
your wife wants you telling that
.
Jay Franze (06:49):
Well, she's old.
Tiffany Mason (06:52):
Yay, george is in
the house.
Jay Franze (06:53):
Welcome, george,
George is in the house, Whoop,
whoop, but yes, Blake Shelton, born June 18th 1976.
I don't know if you know who heis, but he was on a TV show as
well.
Tv show the Voice.
Tiffany Mason (07:07):
This is the Voice
.
Jay Franze (07:11):
No, you didn't know
that, Kathy Matea June 21st
1959.
, 18 wheels and a dozen roses.
Tiffany Mason (07:25):
18 wheels and a
dozen roses.
I knew all the trucker songsbecause my dad he was a semi
driver.
Jay Franze (07:30):
He was a truck
driver.
Tiffany Mason (07:32):
He was not over
the road though Across the state
Right.
He just did across the state.
He did not go across thecountry.
Jay Franze (07:40):
Mr State.
That's why they called him MrState.
Oh yeah, yeah, well, he did goacross Iowa State, mr.
Tiffany Mason (07:44):
State.
That's why they called him MrState.
Oh yeah, yeah.
Well, he did go across IowaState a lot, but he didn't
really go into other states.
Sometimes they would ask him to, but it was for more pay.
Jay Franze (07:56):
Yeah, that would
make sense, mm-hmm.
Tiffany Mason (07:57):
Mm-hmm.
Jay Franze (07:59):
Gretchen Wilson,
June 26, 1973.
Tiffany Mason (08:03):
Ooh, she rowdy.
Jay Franze (08:03):
She's a redneck
woman.
I did not get a chance to workwith her, but I did go in the
studio to set up the day aftershe was in the studio.
And her room was still set up.
It still had the area rug downon the floor.
It had a floor lamp and candlesand smelled heavily of
marijuana.
Tiffany Mason (08:23):
Okay, okay good,
you know what I've learned about
rednecks.
It doesn't mean that they'retrain wrecks.
Nice, I see what you did there.
Jay Franze (08:32):
I see what you did
there.
We'll get back to that a littlelater in the show.
I like that.
I like it.
That was good, thank you.
Tiffany Mason (08:41):
That was my
favorite lyric that I wrote down
.
Jay Franze (08:43):
Nice Kelly Pickler.
She is also from a televisionshow called American Idol.
Tiffany Mason (08:51):
Yes, a lot of
contestants on this list.
Jay Franze (08:53):
Yes, she was married
to a friend of mine and
unfortunately that friend ofmine has passed away.
Oh no, he was also, if you wantto tie this in, the producer
and songwriter for Lee Bryce.
Tiffany Mason (09:07):
Oh, how about
that yes.
Jay Franze (09:10):
Very sad Kyle.
Tiffany Mason (09:12):
Jacobs, that is
very sad.
Jay Franze (09:13):
Kyle Jacobs, you are
missed.
Cole Swindell, june 30th 1983.
June 30th, my grandfather'sbirthday.
Ah, you know if my grandfatherwas still here.
You should be here.
You Should Be here.
There you go.
That's one of his songs.
My grandfather should be here.
Michael Anthony, june 20th 1954.
(09:35):
Bass player for Van Halen.
Tiffany Mason (09:38):
Okay.
Jay Franze (09:39):
He has one of the
most unique voices.
When it comes to harmonysinging, I know we talk about
unique voices a lot, but as faras harmonies go, van Halen's
harmonies would not be what theyare without Michael Anthony.
He definitely has a very, veryunique voice when it comes to
that.
Joey Kramer, june 21st 1950,drummer of Aerosmith.
(10:03):
I know you like you someAerosmith.
Tiffany Mason (10:07):
I do, I do.
Jay Franze (10:08):
I think Kramer's the
one who stuck his clothes
hanger in my oh yeah, I think itwas your belt.
Belt Loop Either way it was onthe back, it was backside.
Tiffany Mason (10:22):
Okay, I think
we're stretching it a little bit
here.
Jay Franze (10:24):
It was I and my
backside is what I'm saying.
Oh, Robbie Merle.
He is the bassist for Godsmack.
Godsmack Boston band, June 13th1963.
Not bad.
He's six years older than me,Six and a half ray loser I don't
(10:49):
know if it's pronounced loserlugeer l-u-z-i-e-r ray lugeer,
I'm gonna assume.
Drummer for corn.
He was born j June 14th 1970,but also on June 19th 1970 was
Brian.
Why he has the nickname of Head?
I don't know, but Brian HeadWalsh.
(11:11):
He's also the guitarist forKorn, so Korn has two members
with birthdays.
Tiffany Mason (11:17):
It's interesting.
I feel like it's important toget that K on there, korn Korn.
Jay Franze (11:25):
Not porn, but corn.
Tom Maxwell.
Let's end with Tom Maxwell.
Tiffany Mason (11:32):
Oh, yes, okay,
yes, also Parker's girlfriend
Mina's birthday.
Not a celebrity, but we need tothrow family in there.
Jay Franze (11:41):
If there is Sure.
Tiffany Mason (11:44):
Yeah, yeah.
Jay Franze (11:45):
Tom Maxwell, june
25th 1968.
He plays guitar for the bandHell yeah.
Tiffany Mason (11:51):
Hell yeah, there
you go.
That's a good band name.
Well, I'm going to start offwith Billy Joel.
He has canceled all upcomingtour dates after being diagnosed
with normal pressurehydrocephalus NPH a brain
disorder that affects hearing, vision balance and cognitive
(12:13):
function, I would assume so.
I mean, if it's in your brain, that makes sense.
Jay Franze (12:17):
It does.
It's very, very sad.
You know he sold over 150million records.
Tiffany Mason (12:24):
Dang.
Jay Franze (12:26):
That is one of the
most talented people musicians
ever.
I remember watching adocumentary about him and they
were talking about him.
He grew up in a poor familyhouse in New York and his piano
had keys on it that hadcigarette burns and some keys
didn't work.
And they said said well, heplays around them.
(12:47):
And they said, well, he justbasically plays the piano and
just hits dead keys.
But no, he literally playedaround those keys.
So if he wanted to make a chordhe would just find a new way of
making that chord and he playedaround the broken keys.
So he's very, very talented, andI mean his songwriting is
amazing so it's very sad I thinkwe've talked before like
(13:08):
they're.
Tiffany Mason (13:09):
They're people.
At the end of the day, they'repeople, they're humans.
They too are having a humanexperience, which may include
hpn as long as it's not hpv well, somebody who's lucky they
didn't get hpv is freddiemercury.
you don't know that for sure.
(13:29):
It's true I don't know that tobe factual, but I'm gonna spread
it as a rumor that he never hadit and but he did have a secret
daughter, and so there is a newbiography claiming that he had
a love child accidentally in1976.
And there is a book out aboutit right now Love, freddie colon
(13:49):
, freddie Mercury's secret lifeand love and it will be released
on September 5th and it isavailable for pre-order now.
So get your copies.
Jay Franze (13:58):
So when you say
accident, does that mean he
tripped and fell in?
Yes, okay, I always wonderedhow that worked.
Tiffany Mason (14:11):
Yeah, yeah, it's
an accident.
Jay Franze (14:13):
I mean, you know,
let's assume that all of this is
true.
It's going to be hard on thedaughter.
I'm sure she's going tospotlight on her that she didn't
ask for now.
Yeah, yeah, I was listening toa podcast today.
Tiffany Mason (14:24):
I feel like
that's got a spotlight on her
that she didn't ask for now.
Yeah, yeah, I was listening toa podcast today.
I feel like that's how all mystories start and somebody was
born out of wedlock and theillegitimate box was checked
Right, and then they weretalking about how that affected
their life and how they thoughtthat they were like not worthy
of all these things, and somaybe she felt like that, you
(14:46):
know, like that she was anaccident and you know, I mean,
it plays with people differentways in their brains.
Jay Franze (14:55):
Well, I'm sure, with
the spotlight on her and people
saying it was an accident andall that stuff is not helping
her either.
Tiffany Mason (15:02):
Well, and
probably also knowing his sexual
orientation is maybe confusingas well.
So you know, all the above notexciting, maybe for this secret
daughter.
Jay Franze (15:15):
Well, as a father of
daughters, I would hate to
think of my daughter having togo through such, such emotions.
I guess Such scrutiny.
Tiffany Mason (15:27):
Well, somebody
who is not going under scrutiny
is Iron Maiden.
Jay Franze (15:33):
Are they not?
Well, maybe they are.
Tiffany Mason (15:35):
Maybe they are,
yeah, maybe they are Okay.
So I was thinking about theiron tour, but really the story is
that they have made some majorchanges in their personnel and
stage production, so the tourkicked off.
They hadn't played live in morethan over a decade and now
they're.
Something has happened thatthey have made major changes in
their stage.
Jay Franze (15:56):
It's called age.
Age has happened.
Their band members are too oldto keep performing.
Yeah Well you know, and notonly that, but I'm sure I mean I
know they're doing well andthey still pull in quite a crowd
, but they're not doing the sizeof the shows they used to still
pulling quite a crowd, butthey're not doing the size of
(16:17):
the shows they used to.
I know, when we talked about inthe past, we talked about Eddie
, that giant creature that wouldbe on the back of the stage.
Yeah.
They're not bringing in allthose different sets anymore.
They're not doing all that.
I mean those sets require bigarenas.
So unless they're playing thesebig arenas, they can't even fit
those things in there.
Tiffany Mason (16:32):
Right, yeah, yeah
, yeah, fit those things in
there.
Right, yeah, yeah, yeah so.
And then they said it alsomarked the debut of drummer
simon dawson, who replaced nicomcbrain after the elder musician
announces retirement fromtouring in december so did you
say nico mcbrain?
Nico mcbrain.
(16:52):
I'm just reading what's written.
Jay Franze (16:57):
I do not know what's
written, so, but someone with
the last name of brain I don'tknow, mcbrain is a kid who grew
up in the 90s and went to theMcDonald's a bunch and now they
have a McBrain.
Tiffany Mason (17:10):
Oh, that's sad
that's probably what's wrong
with my memory is I probablyhave a McBrain.
You have a McBrain, we you havea McBrain.
We used to go camping everyweekend and on our way out of
town we'd always hit McDonald's.
There you go.
Jay Franze (17:24):
I got a McBrain I
eat at McDonald's almost every
day because of my daughter, ohreally, she got me hooked on
that app.
And now that app gamifieseverything I do and I just can't
help but log in there and seewhat kind of things I can do to
get more free food.
Tiffany Mason (17:41):
There's a sucker
in every bunch.
Jay Franze (17:43):
I was thinking about
it today.
It's sludge, there's sludge inthere.
Tiffany Mason (17:50):
I was thinking
about it today we use that
GetUpside app.
My husband and I do, yeah, andI think between the two of us
right now we have like a hundreddollars in our accounts.
But I was thinking that we cango to another warehouse store.
That's kind of like costco, butthey have cheaper gas too.
And I'm thinking like evenafter the upside discount, I
(18:10):
think that they are stillcheaper.
So I'm like that's kind ofstupid, using the app and
getting the points or whatever, when really we could just go
save money and not use the appat all, like just forego the
hassle of it's not really thatmuch hassle, but the two clicks
that it takes.
We could just get cheaper gasoverall.
So we might be playing afoolish game.
Jay Franze (18:35):
Well, it's good if
you have a place next to you
like that For me.
I'm always on the road so afoolish game.
Tiffany Mason (18:42):
Well, it's good
if you have a place next to you
like that for me.
I'm always on the road, soalways finding a place that's on
the road is pretty helpful.
You know, what is stupid aboutit is it is close to us, but
it's one of those that it's likeeasy to get into and hard to
get out of, so it just detersyou from going just because you
know that's how I get stuck withthe wife I like what you did
there.
Okay, well, we got guns androses.
(19:03):
They are playing a cover songlive for the first time.
Uh, last night, may 27th,during their show in abu dhabi.
I was gonna that's what Ithought it was and then the h
threw me off ab Abu Dhabi and itsounded a bit different than
their original rendition of itin a good way.
The rockers recorded the studioversion studio version because
it couldn't have been the liveversion, but they were doing it
(19:24):
live of the New York Dolls songhuman being, which appeared on
their covers album, called theincident.
While most of the songs on thealbum were originally recorded
by punk artists, the New YorkDolls and singer-guitarist
Johnny Thunders were especiallyinfluential for Duff McKagan.
Jay Franze (19:43):
I don't know if you
had a chance to see any of the
highlights from this tour thatthey're on, but I saw the
highlights of one of the songs.
It was absolutely horrible.
I mean horrible.
Tiffany Mason (19:53):
Oh, wow.
Jay Franze (19:54):
I mean, I'm glad
they're out there doing it and I
would like to see them, but thevocal that I saw, the highlight
, was just bad.
It was very, very bad.
Tiffany Mason (20:04):
Okay question for
you.
You know, sometimes you seepeople on TV and you're like
holy crap, that does not soundlike them.
Is it that they're having a badnight, or is it that somebody,
like the engineer, isn't mixingit for tv or isn't mixing it for
the arena that they're in, orwhatever?
Like sometimes it kind of blowsmy mind, like maybe I see
(20:26):
taylor swift and I'm like no, no, she's always on point.
But that performance, you know, you're just like it sounds.
It sounds not good.
Jay Franze (20:35):
So what would you
attribute it to?
Taylor Swift is one that shedefinitely sings on the money
all the time.
I'm sure Axl Rose, I mean, he'salways been an amazing singer.
I'm sure he's just old and outof breath and he's running
around the stage and he's justnot able to hold the notes like
he used to, and he's not hittingthe notes, like he used to.
(20:56):
Yeah, it's tough, I mean when.
Carrie Underwood stepped in andsang for Guns N' Roses for a bit
and she nailed it.
I mean she really did a greatjob, but I think that's a young
person's game.
Those songs are hard.
Tiffany Mason (21:11):
Yeah, I mean he
has a range, a lot of lung
capacity.
Jay Franze (21:13):
He does a lot of low
stuff and just goes right into
high stuff.
And I think the high stuff is.
I think he's kicking himselffor writing songs that are so
high at this point, no matterhow he does.
Tiffany Mason (21:27):
He's better than
me.
Jay Franze (21:28):
So nothing against
him.
Tiffany Mason (21:30):
Said it was a
little different than the
original rendition, but it wasin a good way.
Jay Franze (21:35):
So yeah, this
rendition that he did he did in
the lower register so he didn'thave to hit those high notes
like he he did on the other songand of course the highlight
that you see in the the news isjust the high notes, just what
he was probably hitting wrong.
Yeah, I'm sure the whole nightlong he was probably doing great
, but one moment where he'strying to hit the high note and
(21:58):
fail pull the one segment, that's the one that everybody
wants to the highlight.
That's great jerks trust me, I'msure they're doing that on
purpose for sure yeah, yeah, don't tarnish our guns and roses
.
Tiffany Mason (22:13):
Dang it.
Well, godsmack is in the news.
Jay Franze (22:18):
Godsmack, where are
they from?
Where are they from Boston?
Tiffany Mason (22:25):
Oh shoot.
You told me that.
Jay Franze (22:28):
Sorry, Sully.
Tiffany Mason (22:29):
You guys, you
tease me the answers, then I
can't remember any of them.
Jay Franze (22:31):
Can't even help you.
Cheat on a test.
Tiffany Mason (22:33):
Sorry, I can't
even help you cheat on a test,
Sorry.
So the legendary rockalternative metal band Godsmack
recently finished their 2025live track Across the World and,
according to the frontman,Sully Erna, who is not having a
birthday, the group will now betaking a full year off.
Who is in their group that ishaving the birthday?
Jay Franze (22:55):
I don't know, you
don't know.
I'd have to go back and looknow I don't know, but either way
, godsmack is a great band.
I like them a lot.
They are very, very goodrepresentation of what Boston
rock bands were like when Imoved out of what Boston rock
(23:15):
bands were like when I moved out.
So I mean there was bands likeAngry Hill, which is a regional
band that never had that majorrecord deal, but they had that
same Godsmack sound to them.
That was just a very, very goodsound coming out of Boston at
that time.
Tiffany Mason (23:32):
Okay, Well.
Jay Franze (23:32):
I'll have to check
them out.
Tiffany Mason (23:33):
I don't really
honestly know their music.
Jay Franze (23:39):
So I apologize, but
you know, apologize but you
might know some other songs.
Maybe possibly might be arecommendation in the future.
Do we have a question of theday?
We do we have a question today?
What was your first concert?
What was your first?
Tiffany Mason (23:52):
concert.
What was your first concert,all?
What was your first concert?
Jay Franze (23:57):
All right.
Tiffany Mason (23:58):
George, did you
wait in?
Jay Franze (23:59):
George doesn't count
.
George wasn't here last week.
He got fired.
I don't even know why he cameback to work.
Yeah, you have to earn your wayback in George Earn your way
back in All right.
Jay's tough my first concert?
Now I say it was the bandJourney because it was the band
(24:20):
Journey.
Journey was the first concert Iwent to, but Billy Squire was
the opening act.
So who was really the firstconcert?
Was it Billy Squire?
Tiffany Mason (24:31):
or was it?
Jay Franze (24:31):
Journey.
Tiffany Mason (24:32):
It was Journey.
Okay, it was the headliner.
Jay Franze (24:35):
So Journey was the
show I went to.
Billy squire was the openingact.
It was when billy squire justput out the song stroke.
So oh okay, he was having avery good year.
He did a very good show, thenjourney.
Of course was awesome.
That was the escape tour, myfavorite album, my favorite tour
(24:55):
and how old were you I?
Don't know, it was 1983.
Can you do math?
Tiffany Mason (25:02):
when were you
born?
Jay Franze (25:03):
60 69, 70, 13, 14
years I was 14 years.
My dad took me to the show.
Tiffany Mason (25:14):
Oh nice.
Jay Franze (25:15):
We sat maybe nine
rows center from the stage.
Oh cool.
And smoked an awful lot of potthat night With your dad.
We did not smoke pot, buteverybody else around us did, so
we may as well have.
Tiffany Mason (25:32):
Yeah.
Jay Franze (25:32):
So I mean, that was
my first time really smelling
pot.
Tiffany Mason (25:36):
Yeah, so I mean
that was my first time really
smelling pot.
Yeah, yeah, hannah's completelygrossed out whenever she smells
it, because she knows what itis now and you know, I live in
Florida so it's pretty prevalent.
Jay Franze (25:46):
We went out for
dinner last night, me and Bella,
my eldest daughter, and wecould smell it as we were
walking in.
I said something there and Idon't even think she even
flinched yeah, what was yourfirst concert?
And we could smell it as wewere walking.
I said something there and Idon't even think she even
flinched yeah.
What was your first concert?
Oh, wait, wait, wait, bostonGarden.
By the way, that's veryimportant to note Journey at the
Boston Garden Because the.
(26:07):
Boston Garden, even though itstill kind of exists.
The original Boston Garden doesnot.
Tiffany Mason (26:13):
Yeah.
Jay Franze (26:13):
They built up one
right next to it and tore the
original down.
Oh, so this was at the original.
Tiffany Mason (26:19):
Wow.
Well, I don't know what thevenue was, but I went to Michael
W Smith, which is a Christianartist.
I just want to press it so bad.
You can't fire me for going toa Christian concert, but the
next one I went to was Aerosmith.
(26:40):
But I didn't go to a lot ofconcerts.
We didn't have disposableincome.
Jay Franze (26:53):
And in Des Moines,
Iowa, it's not really the
up-and-coming scene for rockartists.
Tiffany Mason (26:55):
They don't put
that on their tour schedule.
No, and honestly, if I wouldhave went to one, it probably
would have been New Kids on theBlock or something like that.
Some of the Bostonians, oh yeah, Damn, everything comes out of
Boston.
Jay Franze (27:08):
All the good things.
Tiffany Mason (27:10):
All the good
things.
There you go?
Okay, well, I knew when thequestion was posted, I was like
no there you go alright, george,we're going to let you get away
with this here, buddy.
Jay Franze (27:26):
His first band was
the who.
First concert was the who.
I need a glass of water, sorry.
Tiffany Mason (27:37):
I have water and
Jay still fires me, so Alright,
george.
Jay Franze (27:42):
Very good Amanda,
this is as bad as Tiffany's.
She says Backstreet Boys.
Tiffany Mason (27:52):
Heck yeah.
Jay Franze (27:54):
That's awesome,
valerie for the win, george.
George's wife, valerie, saysOzzy Osbourne.
Tiffany Mason (28:01):
Oh, that's cool.
Yeah, and my parents were biginto country music, so I wasn't
going to go to any cool rockconcert anyway.
Jay Franze (28:08):
When I was a kid, it
was when he bit the head off
the bat, so that was the time.
It was all in the paper.
He was being banned from Boston.
Tiffany Mason (28:17):
Yeah yeah, it
made headlines all the way to
Iowa.
Jay Franze (28:23):
Jason says Garth
Brooks.
There's a good show.
I mean, you go to see GarthBrooks concert and you're
probably not the same anymoreand it's going to be hard to
beat that.
Tiffany Mason (28:31):
Yeah, agreed.
Jay Franze (28:33):
Another one hard to
beat.
Brianna says Taylor Swift.
Yeah, agreed, Another one hardto beat.
Brianna says Taylor Swift.
Now Connor says this, but Idon't know if he's just sucking
up, but he says.
He says I want to get on.
Tiffany Mason (28:51):
Tiffany's good
side Metallica that's pretty
sweet.
Different Valerie says eltonjohn.
I got to see elton john inperson at cvs as a benefit of a
thing that I was doing, and justthe power of his voice was
impressive, I don't know.
I was pretty impressed and allhe was doing was sitting at the
(29:14):
piano playing is that it?
Jay Franze (29:15):
And all he was doing
was sitting at the piano
playing, is that it?
Tiffany Mason (29:17):
That all he was
doing, mm-hmm.
He is super talented I meanthere wasn't like some big
performance or, you know, costume changes or anything like
that, and it was prettyimpressive still.
Haley says, britney Spears thatwould have been a good one.
Jay Franze (29:31):
All right, let's see
.
Greg says Pink Floyd.
There you go.
Ooh, all right, let's see.
Greg says Pink Floyd.
There you go.
Travis says Kiss.
You know I saw Kiss.
Kiss was a good show.
Now I saw them later, beyondmakeup, but they were still very
good.
Put on a good show.
Lisa says Shania Twain I'm goodwith Shania Twain.
(29:53):
Dan says the Rolling StonesDang.
Tiffany Mason (29:55):
Stephanie says
the Rolling Stones Dang.
Jay Franze (29:57):
Stephanie says Reba.
Tiffany Mason (30:01):
Ooh, that would
have been good.
Jay Franze (30:03):
I don't even want to
mention that Claire says the
Jonas Brothers.
Oh, claire, claire, he saidwhat was the first concert you
went to?
Tiffany Mason (30:12):
I only reminded
because I'm a co-host.
She didn't have to admit that.
What was the first concert youwent to?
I only reminded him because I'ma co-host.
She didn't have to admit that.
Jay Franze (30:18):
What was the first
concert you went to?
That doesn't count.
That's not even a concert.
Oh, another one for you.
Michelle says Tiffany likesFleetwood Mac.
That was the first one I got tosee.
Tiffany Mason (30:31):
Yes, very cool,
I'd love to see them.
Jay Franze (30:34):
Brian says Kenny
Chesney, richard says the Eagles
, emily says Carrie Underwood,my daughter went to see Carrie.
Underwood.
Tiffany Mason (30:45):
I've seen her a
couple times.
Jay Franze (30:46):
My daughter and a
friend of hers went to Vegas
without us to see Carrie.
Tiffany Mason (30:51):
Underwood.
Oh right, Right.
Jay Franze (30:53):
Me the father of the
year.
Good or bad, you can take thateither way.
Josh says Maroon 5.
Tiffany Mason (31:02):
Ooh, I'd like to
see Maroon 5.
I mean, he seems like a niceguy, but you say eye candy, he's
pretty easy on the eyes Really.
Jay Franze (31:11):
Oh yeah, he's not my
type.
Tiffany Mason (31:14):
No.
Jay Franze (31:15):
No, carl says Def
Leppard, he's not my type.
No, no, carl says Def Leppard, they're not my type either.
Def.
Leppard came out strong.
I really liked them at thebeginning, but not my favorite
after.
They kind of jumped the shark alittle bit.
Tiffany Mason (31:29):
Bad finish.
Jay Franze (31:30):
Well, we mentioned
their drummer losing their arm
and they had to learn a new wayof performing.
They didn't want to lose thedrummer, so he kind of adapted
his drum kit.
They put together this newthing so he can continue to play
.
And that's when mutt lang alsowas heavily involved with the
band and that created this verysynthesized sound.
So it went from a raw rock bandto a very synthesized sound
(31:55):
rock band like pour some SomeSugar On Me and stuff.
I have nothing against them.
I like the albums and stuff, but they weren't my favorite.
I like their earlier stuffbetter.
Tiffany Mason (32:03):
Yeah.
Jay Franze (32:04):
All right, derek,
good call Linkin Park.
I got to see Linkin Park withJenny oh, not my Jenny, another
Jenny, jenny oh, not my jenny, another jenny.
Jenny was a student at thecollege that I used to teach at,
and we went to see lincoln parktogether.
Yeah, not a date, just friendsyeah sex was good though no just
(32:31):
kidding.
Just kidding we not have sex, just in case she's listening or
anybody else Just throwing thatout there.
Moving on.
Teresa says Hootie the.
Blowfish.
Did you ever tell me what?
Tiffany Mason (32:47):
That's not a good
follow-up.
Jay Franze (32:50):
Jenny and the
Blowfish.
Tiffany Mason (32:53):
Oh my gosh.
Sorry, Jenny, You're going tohave to edit some stuff out of
this.
Jay Franze (32:55):
Sorry, oh my gosh.
Sorry, jenny.
Tiffany Mason (32:56):
You're going to
have to edit some stuff out of
this with the radio Holy crapTeresa says Hootie and the
Blowfish.
Jay Franze (33:08):
I liked Hootie and
the Blowfish.
Tiffany Mason (33:09):
I did not.
Jay Franze (33:10):
You did not like
Hootie and the Blowfish.
Tiffany Mason (33:12):
I liked them, but
it annoyed the crap out of me
their lack of enunciation.
I don't know what I'm being.
Jay Franze (33:21):
Well, also he sings
flat, oh Like consistently flat.
Okay.
So I mean he's hitting thenotes that he's intending to hit
.
It's just flatter than normal.
I got to see him in Nashville.
He played at the Grammy partythat we went to.
Darius Rucker did not Hootieand the Blowfish.
Tiffany Mason (33:40):
I was going to
say we had Darius Rucker come
perform for our company for aconference and it was a really
good show and it was in Hawaii,so it didn't hurt my feelings.
But I feel like he enunciatesmore now, but he still could
enunciate more.
I'm really a big fan ofenunciation.
Jay Franze (33:59):
Well, now he's in
Nashville being produced by
Nashville producers, and that'sa big thing in Nashville for
sure.
Tiffany Mason (34:06):
Speak clearly.
You know why enunciation is soimportant, jay?
Because when I'm trying tofigure out what the heck the
story is, if I can't make outthe words, I don't know what the
story is.
And then, guess what?
I don't want to listen to it.
Jay Franze (34:19):
Got to connect the
dots.
Tiffany Mason (34:21):
I got to connect
the dots.
I'm a little bit, you know, stuck on that.
Jay Franze (34:26):
I'm stuck on you.
Tiffany Mason (34:29):
Lionel.
Jay Franze (34:30):
Richie, I told you.
Tiffany Mason (34:31):
I went to see.
Jay Franze (34:32):
Lionel Richie by
accident, didn't I?
Yes, for those who don't knowthe story, I went to see the
Nashville Predators.
We were standing outside of thearena in Nashville.
We thought the Predators wereplaying, so we bought scalp
tickets.
We went in and guess what?
We were watching Lionel Richie.
But it was still a good show.
(34:52):
My wife likes Lionel Richie.
It was good, just not what wethought the plans were going to
be.
Tiffany Mason (34:59):
You know who
Lionel Richie reminds me of or
really, this person probablyreminds me of Lionel Richie, but
you know the rich boyfriend inComing to America, lisa's rich
boyfriend.
I guess he's not rich but hewants to be part of the McDowell
family, right, that boyfriend?
That's who he reminds me of.
Jay Franze (35:19):
Becky says, dolly
Parton.
Oh, I would like to see herplay live.
I get to work on her liveproject, but I did not get to
see her perform live.
Tiffany Mason (35:30):
I think I would
like to meet her, but I don't
think I would like to see herperform.
Sorry, Dolly, if you would liketo see her perform.
Jay Franze (35:36):
Sorry, dolly, if you
would like to confront tiffany
on that jfranzycom slash live.
Tiffany Mason (35:43):
just hop on, I'm
gonna start censoring.
Jay Franze (35:47):
Olivia says bruno
mars frank.
How old are you, buddy?
He says johnny cash, frank.
If that's your first concert, buddy, you're older than I am
and he saw him at Folsom Prison.
Tiffany Mason (36:01):
I got to work on
one of.
Jay Franze (36:02):
Johnny Cash's live
shows too, but never got to meet
him.
Tara says, bon Jovi, I like.
Bon Jovi they were one of myfavorites until their later
stuff as well.
I feel like they kind of jumpedthe shark when they when Jon
Bon Jovi went to Nashville andstarted writing with Nashville
writers.
Yeah, I thought the charm ofBon Jovi was when he was writing
(36:24):
the songs by himself.
Tiffany Mason (36:27):
Yeah, Corporate
people get their their hands on
it all and then change it up.
Jay Franze (36:34):
Debbie, my friend
Debbie says journey.
Tiffany Mason (36:37):
Maybe you guys
went to the same concert, if?
Jay Franze (36:39):
you want to tell us
where or what year.
That would be helpful.
Tiffany Mason (36:43):
Jay wants to know
if your seats were next to his.
Jay Franze (36:45):
Were you smoking pot
?
That's really what I want toknow.
Charlie says Tim McGraw, I'venever seen Tim play live.
I've worked with him, but I'venever seen him play live.
I've worked with Tim, but I'venever seen him play live.
I'd be curious.
Tim himself thinks he puts on agood show, but he's not a very
good singer.
I would like to know if that'strue.
Do you think he puts on a goodshow, charlie?
Tiffany Mason (37:06):
and did Faith
come out?
Is it while they were marriedor dating?
That would have been cool wehave questions.
Jay Franze (37:13):
Follow up questions.
Tiffany Mason (37:14):
Please please
chime in Nate says red hot chili
peppers questions.
Jay Franze (37:17):
Follow up questions
please.
Tiffany Mason (37:20):
Nate says red hot
chili peppers.
Ooh, that'd be a good concert.
I would want to go to anyconcert that has like upbeat or
rowdy people.
Jay Franze (37:27):
Yeah, that's.
I think these days that's whatI'm into.
Tiffany Mason (37:30):
Don't want to
crowd surf, no why not?
You know it's funny.
I heard someone who told methat they crowd surfed and they
were actually bruised from itwouldn't surprise me a girl
should never crowd surf.
Jay Franze (37:44):
There's too many
creeps out there for that yeah,
I would agree with that paulsays george straight no, that's
a good one, but that is not arowdy one it is not a rowdy one,
but he looks good in thosejeans.
All I can imagine is himstanding center stage and never
moving.
Tiffany Mason (38:02):
It's fine.
I hope he turns around a coupletimes.
All he needs to do is move hiships back and forth a couple
times.
It's fine.
He's good looking.
Side to side Side side, side toside roger says james taylor I
(38:23):
looked like good one.
Jay Franze (38:24):
It would have been
mellow, but good I used to date
a girl and she's out with jamestaylor right now oh really she's
the background vocalist andfiddle player for james taylor
right now oh, how cool is that.
Tiffany Mason (38:35):
I've been looking
for one of his records, hoping
to come buy one, but I've lookedthrough a lot of record
collections and not there.
Jay Franze (38:43):
Tyler says Eminem
you know what Tyler.
I'm not going to knock it, Iwould like to see him.
You know not my style of musictypically, but there's a few
people and he's one of them thatcan pull it off in my mind.
Tiffany Mason (38:58):
I agree.
Jay Franze (38:58):
Melanie says Foo
Fighters Pre or post drummer.
I forget the drummer's name.
What was the drummer thatpassed away?
Tiffany Mason (39:06):
Don't look at me.
I like that you actuallydepended on me, though I was
hoping you would know one.
Jay Franze (39:13):
I was hoping you'd
pull me out of the trench.
Tiffany Mason (39:14):
Actually no.
Jay Franze (39:16):
You got Google.
Tiffany Mason (39:17):
Linkin Park
drummer.
Jay Franze (39:18):
No Foo.
Tiffany Mason (39:20):
Fighters, foo
Fighters, drummer.
Jay Franze (39:23):
Yes, I forget his
name.
It's on the tip of my tongue.
I want to say it, but I feellike if I say this name, it's
wrong.
Tiffany Mason (39:29):
Okay, do you want
the new drummer or the one that
passed away?
The one that passed away?
The one that passed away?
Okay, who do you think it is?
No, no, we're not playing thatgame.
It's Taylor Hawkins.
Jay Franze (39:43):
Yes, I was trying to
say Tyler Taylor.
That would have made much moresense.
Taylor he was an amazingdrummer.
Really really good drummer andhis son stepped in and played
drums during the tribute withFoo Fighters.
Tiffany Mason (39:57):
Yeah, I think we
covered that right.
No, but we should have if wedidn't.
Victoria says Alanis MorissetteOoh, jagged little pill.
Jay Franze (40:12):
All right, I'm going
to end on this one, crystal.
I'm going to need follow-upfrom you, though she says Keith
Urban.
I would like to know when andwhere.
Only because was it a show thatI engineered, and I would like
to know that.
Tiffany Mason (40:28):
Oh, hmm, hmm, you
want to know if you were
responsible for her listeningpleasure.
Jay Franze (40:38):
I want to know if I
was responsible for ruining the
show for her.
I didn't ruin a Keith.
Urban show.
I ruined a Phil Vassar show Inhis mind anyway, he told you
that no but he was very mad.
He was very mad.
He's a piano player and he alsois the lead vocalist, so he
walks around stage.
But when he sits at the pianohe's got a player and he also is
(40:59):
the lead vocalist, so he walksaround stage, but when he sits
at the piano he's got a stand, kind of like the boom arm that I
have.
And he puts his microphone inthere and then when he gets up
and walks around it's a wirelessmicrophone.
He takes it out and he walks.
Well, the wireless microphoneis thicker than a regular
microphone so it got stuck inthe boom arm and he couldn't get
it out right away in the boomarm and he couldn't get it out
right away, so he's strugglingto get it out of the stand and
turned around and yelled at meLike it was my fault that he
(41:19):
couldn't get it out of the stand.
So he wasn't happy.
Sorry, phil.
Now I've worked with him a fewtimes after that where he was
very nice and he was nice to me.
That day before that, mygirlfriend at the time was a big
fan of his and we sat down andate dinner with him.
He was very nice, but as soonas that happened, he was not
nice, so he changed prettyquickly, yeah.
Tiffany Mason (41:47):
Got to see
another side.
Jay Franze (41:49):
Keith Urban opened
up that show too, so it was a
good night.
Tiffany Mason (41:53):
Anyways, how does
Keith Urban open up for Phil
Vassar?
Jay Franze (41:56):
Well, this was back
in the day.
That's what I'm saying.
This was the very first gig Ihad when I moved to Nashville.
The very first gig I got.
I thought it was probably goingto be my last after that night,
but it wasn't.
I got to go on and work withsome of these people again, like
Keith.
Urban I worked with Keith Urbanseveral times.
I worked with Phil Vassar threeor four times.
One of them was up inConnecticut, which was pretty
(42:18):
cool.
It was at the casino there, soit was kind of my home area,
home-ish.
Tiffany Mason (42:24):
Yeah.
Jay Franze (42:24):
A couple hours from
my home, so it was nice, yeah,
anywho.
Tiffany Mason (42:29):
That just sounds
really peachy, jay, thanks, okay
.
Well, let's talk a little bitabout country.
What's going on in the countryworld and specifically with
miranda lambert.
So she, I don't know having aconversation, don't know where
it came from exactly, but thatmiranda lambert says that she
(42:51):
knows she has work to do to getinto the country music hall of
fame, acknowledging that it's agoal that she's been working
towards.
Lambert's name, I guess, hasbeen mentioned frequently in
discussions about being a futureinductee, with some speculating
she might be invited as amodern era artist.
(43:12):
She qualifies what are thequalifications?
You've got to be in theindustry for 20 years.
Jay Franze (43:15):
So she qualifies.
What are the qualifications?
You got to be in the industryfor 20 years, so she qualifies I
like the fact that her and TimMcGraw last week are self-aware
enough to know that they're notready, Like Tim McGraw was
saying he feels he's a goodperformer but not a very good
vocalist, when Miranda is sayingshe still has work to do to be
considered Hall of Fame worthy.
So I like the fact that they'reself-aware to know that.
Tiffany Mason (43:38):
Interesting.
Jay Franze (43:41):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (43:44):
But I do think
she's talented.
Jay Franze (43:46):
If she doesn't
deserve it now, she will shortly
, especially if she continues.
We were talking about the otherday where she's getting ready
to go back on the road again.
Tiffany Mason (43:55):
She's got a new
record label and getting ready
to do some more work.
Jay Franze (43:57):
Yeah, I would like
to see it happen for her.
I like her music.
Tiffany Mason (44:00):
Yeah, I do too.
I do too.
I like, uh, the house thatbuilt me a lot yes, very good
song it always makes me think ofmy childhood house does it and
she's also won what grammys andcmas.
Jay Franze (44:11):
I mean she's also
won what Grammys and CMAs, I
mean she's definitely.
Tiffany Mason (44:17):
Qualified.
Jay Franze (44:17):
Definitely in my
book would meet the
qualifications.
But when.
I think Hall of Fame worthy.
You know I get 20 years is agood benchmark, but you've got
to be towards the end of yourcareer.
Tiffany Mason (44:28):
Yeah, yeah, I
agree, and she's not.
She's clearly in the mid.
Jay Franze (44:35):
You know, I think
that when people do that, you
gotta think longevity.
Even if she was another tenyears from now, if she got in
ten years from now, I think itstill be perfect timing oh yeah,
she still deserve.
It still be good timing yep, yep.
Tiffany Mason (44:50):
Well, miss gwen
stefani performed at the amas on
the 26th monday night uh,memorial day, and I guess
everyone was getting all pantiesin a bunch that her performance
was recorded.
So the fans feel like they gotgypped, they feel like they were
, quote-unquote, lied to.
(45:11):
But I mean she did two outfitchanges so they got a show and
it was some of their favoritesongs.
They were singing along.
They weren't trying to figureout if she was really singing
anyway.
So who cares, it's an old trickin the book, right?
Like everybody that does that.
Milly vanilly, come on well,that's.
Jay Franze (45:32):
That's a different
story.
I mean, they didn't even singthe song, but right she at least
sang it at one point right, butwhat they're being accused of
and criticized for is being apower couple and getting special
treatment compared to the otherpeople that performed.
So I think that's why the fansare upset, or that's why people
(45:53):
are upset.
Now, I didn't see it.
I don't know if it was real ornot.
There's a lot of that.
Stuff is fake.
When I say fake, pre-recordedor singing, along to a track
Right right.
All those shows.
Every one of them does it, so Idon't like it.
You know I'd like to seeeverything perform live, but in
some cases you just can't dothat, you know, especially when
(46:16):
you're dealing with such quickchanges, when you're dealing
with one band on, bring anotherone off, and a whole different
setup and all the differentthings.
It's hard to keep everythinglive, so it wouldn't surprise me
if they filmed it and then, when they're playing that
performance, they're setting upfor the next thing.
that's, that is live or live-ishsinging to a track or something
(46:40):
.
Yeah, is it trickery.
I don't think they did anythingon purpose to mislead anybody.
It's just part of the show.
Tiffany Mason (46:47):
Right Agreed.
Jay Franze (46:49):
I definitely don't
think it's favoritism either.
I mean it's going to happen.
If they get to put on a show ofthat size, something's going to
have to happen.
Tiffany Mason (46:57):
Yeah.
Jay Franze (46:57):
So if she was the
one chosen to make that happen,
she was probably the mostcooperative person to do it.
Tiffany Mason (47:04):
I don't know.
Jay Franze (47:10):
She looks like she
has not aged a day Like come on
already.
She's another one that's verypretty.
We've established not my type, but she's very pretty.
Tiffany Mason (47:15):
Yeah, I agree,
she's very pretty Well.
Mr Benson Boone was also in thenews.
He has a new tour out, AmericanHeart 29 dates that he's got on
the calendar and his tour soldout in nine seconds.
(47:35):
Nine seconds and that was aheadof his new album release
physically possible.
Jay Franze (47:41):
Think of all the
telephones or internet sites
that would have had to have goneoff at one moment for that to
happen.
Or do you think that was justyou know, the resellers that
just snatched them really quick?
Tiffany Mason (47:58):
I think it's a
combination like american
express always has their littlepre-sales, so maybe it was like
them plus the scalpers it'simpressive, so I don't want to
take that away yeah, butunfortunately these days.
You know some of that stuff isrough yeah, I agree, and it
makes it very, very, veryexpensive for makes it not fun
(48:20):
anymore yeah, it is true, it istrue.
And nothing's worse than whenyou try to go to like ticket
master and get a ticket and thenyou realize you're really on
some scammer site or somethingLike can we just have?
I'm so tired of being scammed,I'm so tired of having to look
at the you know URL to make surethat it's real and all this
(48:41):
stuff people can do with AI nowand it's like oh, God, yeah, I
miss being able to just walk upto the box office and buy
tickets.
I miss being able to just walkup to the box office and buy
tickets.
There was nothing cooler thanwhen you got your tickets in the
mail, or you went up to thewill call box and you got your
physical tickets.
That was the best.
The ticket stub.
Jay Franze (49:00):
This is a big one
for me.
This is a big one for me for aparticular reason.
Royale Lynn is the artist.
The song is Six Feet Deep.
I'll say that Royale Lynn, sixFeet Deep, just so I don't skip
right over it again.
I'm sorry, Maddie.
McCree on the couple episodesback when we skipped over your
name and your song, but RoyaleLynn, six Feet Deep.
(49:23):
The reason why I think this isa good one she's a young artist
and I think I mentioned lastweek, when I said we're going to
bring the song up, that shecomes across as if she's one of
these artists doing everythingon her own.
But I think she has at least asmall team behind her that was
able to put something reallygood together and got her some
big gigs and stuff coming up,and she's been traveling and
performing with some knownartists big artists.
(49:44):
However, when I worked inNashville 20 plus years working
out of Nashville, and beforethat I was working 15, say, five
years out of Boston, 10 yearsout of New York, something like
that.
So when I was in Nashville I wastold I was too rockish for oh.
(50:06):
And then when I would go backto the North, they say I was too
countryish for the North.
So I'm in the middle.
I like hard rock and music.
I don't care if it's country orif it's rock, I just like hard
rock and music.
Like you said earlier, musicthat has some sort of kick to it
.
Tiffany Mason (50:26):
Yeah.
Jay Franze (50:26):
Well, royal Lynn is
a country country artist, but
she calls herself punk countryand it is a country metal song.
Okay, so it's one of thosethings.
If you ever have a song thatyou could look back on and say I
wish I had done that one, thiswould be the one I would look
back on and say I would like todo that yeah.
Tiffany Mason (50:50):
At first, when
she first did her first few
words, I was like oh, Jay pickeda country song.
And then, as you get into it,it's obviously not.
I think punk country is a greatway to explain it.
Do not make fun of me, but Ilistened to it on the golf cart
and I liked it Because itsounded like the guitar was a
(51:12):
little bit distorted, almost, and I loved that.
And then I listened to it againand it sounded a lot cleaner
when I listened to it, not, youknow, buzzing through town, but
I liked it both ways.
Jay Franze (51:26):
You can't start off
by saying don't make fun of me.
I was listening to it while onthe golf cart On my way to the
boat.
Tiffany Mason (51:34):
I was not on the
way to the boat, anyway, I was
on my way to the coffee shop.
Jay Franze (51:42):
You live a life that
the rest of us do not, my
friend.
It's okay.
We all aspire to be you.
Tiffany Mason (51:49):
It's not as
bougie as you think it is,
anyways.
So I like the clean voice, Iliked the clever lyrics and,
like I said earlier, the onethat stood out to me was just
cause I'm a redneck don't meanI'm a train wreck and you know
my roots are a little redneck,so you know that resonates with
(52:09):
me again.
Jay Franze (52:13):
I thought it was a
very good song.
It's one that my daughter lucyI played it for her.
We were driving aroundsomewhere.
I said oh, check out this song, tell me what you think.
And she liked it.
And she liked the fact that Iliked it so yeah when we drive
around now she'll say some stufflike to me every time we're in
the car Can you play this?
Can you play this?
Can you play this?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
(52:34):
Just one song after another song, to the point where I'm like,
dear God, give me a chance tostart it.
But she goes.
I'll tell you what she goes.
You play your song and I'm like, what song is that?
And then she keep talking aboutthis one and I'm like, why that
one?
She goes because I know youlike it.
I'm like, so you can then playyour song.
(52:54):
Is that what you're getting at,right?
Right?
Are you asking me to playbecause you like it, or you ask
me to play it because it's agateway to your song?
Tiffany Mason (53:04):
well, hannah was
playing her songs and I said,
hey, I would like to listen tothis song, and then you can go
back to listening to any of yoursongs, and I think that it was
three minutes of sheer hell forher.
Um, I loved it.
I would have easily done it onrepeat and I think I will add it
to my golf cart playlist, um,so I can hear it again.
Jay Franze (53:24):
I just want to press
all sorts of buttons there's so
many buttons that have yet tobe pressed.
I don't even know what they alldo.
Tiffany Mason (53:32):
But yes, I really
did like it and I will listen
to it multiple times after therecommendation.
But I really liked it a lot andI like a song that is easy to
pick up to sing along to and Iliked that it had your punk
flair to it but or rock flair toit but it had my you know, I
(53:54):
don't know easy ability to likefigure out what the storyline is
and sing along and I don't know.
I really liked it a lot it is aif you guys have not heard it
yes, yeah six feet deep six feetdeep royale lynn Check it out.
Jay Franze (54:09):
Definitely a good
song.
George, check it out, let usknow what you think, earn your
way back in George.
That's all I'm saying.
George was actually here Mondaynight, so he was he didn't come
back for his show.
He's got some making up to dofor you.
Tiffany Mason (54:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
come on George.
Jay Franze (54:28):
All right, so what
do you got for me?
Tiffany Mason (54:31):
Well, the song
that I'm going to recommend is
Ghost of Us and it is by anartist.
She just goes by her first name, jolie.
And when we moved down toFlorida the town south of us is
St Augustine, florida, and a lotof people know of St Augustine
and it's supposedly thecountry's oldest town or
whatever and we went downtown, downtown St Augustine, and I
(54:55):
just hear like this voice of anangel, it just lured me in like
a siren, right, we go listen toher.
And I'm like, oh my gosh, sean, she was so awesome.
So then the next time we'rewalking around, I'm like, oh,
there's that voice again.
I'm like we got to find her.
Where is she playing?
And so multiple times we'vebeen down in St Augustine and I
hear her voice and just I justhave to go, like I I can't
(55:18):
explain it Like she's just, Ilove her voice.
She has been dubbed the voiceof St Augustine.
She plays a lot every weekendor every week at a couple of
different spots.
You can usually catch her everyweek.
Jay Franze (55:32):
So are you
recommending an indie artist
tonight?
Tiffany Mason (55:36):
It is an indie
artist.
Look at you.
I'm impressed, I know, and shejust has a very soft falsetto
voice, I don't know, but shedoes.
I don't know.
I don't know how to explain it,but I really like her voice and
this song.
I felt like there was a lot ofdesperation in her voice, which
I personally liked, so I hopeyou guys take a chance to go
(55:59):
pull it up.
It is the ghost of us by Jolie, and I hope you guys enjoy it.
Well, you want to talk aboutBoston again?
Jay Franze (56:07):
Well, you want to
talk about Boston again?
Tiffany Mason (56:08):
Sure, boston,
what do you got?
Okay, I miss Boston.
We have touched on this before, but Mr Conan O'Brien, he has
the Kennedy Center Mark TwainPrize for American Humor Special
.
That is now available onNetflix.
So before we were talking abouthow it's coming up and now, if
that made your ears perk up, youcan go and check it out on
Netflix.
Yes, okay.
Jay Franze (56:29):
No, no, no, bop, bop
, bop bop bop, bop bop.
Tiffany Mason (56:31):
Oh, Bop, bop, bop
, bop, bop, bop bop.
Jay Franze (56:34):
Redhead from Boston.
Yeah, we got that yeah.
We've said that before, but Idon't know me the head writer of
saturday night live for a longtime, like before he got his
talk show and stuff.
Tiffany Mason (56:53):
He was the writer
for saturday night live I feel
like he has such great stagepresence that I'm surprised that
they weren't ever like hey, conan, come on stage I don't
know when he started.
Jay Franze (57:02):
I don't know if he
had that presence to him.
I'm sure he did true I mean,he's a funny, funny dude, right,
but he also wrote for thesimpsons that's awesome.
Yeah, yeah, I mean wow he wasdoing stuff long before his talk
show.
I don't think he gets that kindof credit.
Yeah, he should.
It's a true legend when itcomes to comedy no hope from
(57:25):
chat gpt either he's long beforeChatGPT.
Wait, wait, we got word fromGeorge Charlie.
No, oh, george.
No, george, we're still waitingon the others.
George says he listened to thesong.
It was surprisingly strong, buthe did not expect it.
(57:46):
He did like the power of hervoice and he would recommend it
yep all right, you've earnedyour way back in George.
Tiffany Mason (57:56):
I think so.
Yeah, I think so.
Jay Franze (57:58):
He just showed his
dedication make sure you show up
on time next week, george, george, I don't even know why he
bothers coming back each week.
He's for the abuse.
Tiffany Mason (58:14):
He likes us, he's
like Mikey, he likes us, he
really likes us.
Jay Franze (58:20):
Still think we need
to make the next shirt.
Who the hell is George?
Okay?
Tiffany Mason (58:27):
Okay, ilana
glazer, her special human magic,
offers a candid look atmotherhood and is streaming on
hulu.
So maybe not one that you wouldrelate to, maybe more something
, I can't relate to being amother.
Jay Franze (58:44):
I've been called the
mother quite a few times.
Tiffany Mason (58:51):
Not a mom like a
mom, no sir.
I would still check out hershow.
Yeah, you probably could findit funny.
Jay Franze (59:01):
I think it was known
as more being a confessional.
Oh, so I like that type ofhumor, so I'll check it out.
Tiffany Mason (59:06):
Yeah, okay, cool
that's exciting.
Jay Franze (59:10):
I would check that
out.
A recommendation out in thewild folks, okay.
Tiffany Mason (59:14):
And then we have
ralph barboza and renee vacca,
and I'm gonna tell you a littlesomething.
Okay, my middle name is reneeand re.
Jay Franze (59:27):
Good to know, George
.
Write that down.
Tiffany Mason (59:31):
Renee in French.
If you're a man, your name isspelled R-E-N-E.
If you are a female, your nameis spelled R-E-N-E-E.
My name, middle name, isspelled R-E-N-E.
The male version of Renee Makessense yeah, why not?
Jay Franze (59:53):
Your parents were
right on track.
Tiffany Mason (59:56):
Well, my mom was
carrying low and a slow
heartbeat.
Jay Franze (01:00:00):
And so they thought
for sure, it was a boy.
Tiffany, we want a boy, that'swhat that name is Tiffany, we
wanted a boy.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:05):
Yeah, state, and
you got it girl.
Jay Franze (01:00:07):
Tiffany, we wanted a
boy State.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:09):
And you got a
girl.
Tiffany wanted a boy State.
So these two, Ralph and Renee, are rising comedians.
They are performingDoubleheader Show in New York
following the Barbossa Top 10Netflix special that has over 80
million YouTube views.
Jay Franze (01:00:27):
I do not know Ralph,
but I have had a chance to see
Renee's videos and he ishumorous.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:34):
I'll have to
check it out and he's also a
little risky too.
Jay Franze (01:00:37):
Not risky in the
comedy way he brought somebody
up on stage and had somebodyelse choke them out, like put
them to sleep on stage.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:46):
Oh my gosh.
Jay Franze (01:00:47):
I'm sure that was
not venue approved, but funny
nonetheless.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:53):
A little pushing
the envelope, if you will.
Jay Franze (01:00:56):
A little bit of push
.
What's going on?
Tiffany Mason (01:00:59):
with you Going on
with me.
I don't have a lot going onthis week, but I thought I might
share with you a floatexperience that I had.
You need to be very careful howyou approach this.
So there's these pods that youcan go into.
(01:01:21):
They have basically like Epsomsalt baths that you can lay in
and, because of all the saltthat they dissolve in the water,
you're very buoyant and so,like you, effortlessly float in
these pods.
And so for Christmas, mr Masonhad gifted this to me and I was
super excited.
I was like, oh my gosh, this isawesome Because there's also
like these salt caves that youcan go into, and both ways.
(01:01:43):
Because of the amount of salt.
It's supposed to be good foryour body and it's supposed to
be good for anxiety salt it'ssupposed to be good for your
body and it's supposed to begood for anxiety and, as we know
, I may have it from time totime.
So I was really excited aboutit.
So before you go in, you haveto watch this little video and
it says that sometimes peopleget nauseous from it and you
know, if it persists afterwardsit could be a sign of like
(01:02:04):
pancreatitis or something, and Iwas like Whoa, or something
with your liver, maybe, anyways, something with one of your
organs.
So immediately, you know, likeI tweak out and I'm like, oh my
gosh what.
I'm probably going to get sick.
This is probably going to beawful, oh my God.
And so it just starts to spiralreally fast, you know.
And I'm like nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
So I shut it down and I'm likeokay, I'm going to go, this is
(01:02:26):
going to be fine.
Now, when I get warm, I getlightheaded.
I don't know if that's aproblem or if that's a normal
thing, I don't know, but I getlike kind of dizzy or
disoriented or something if Iget too warm.
So it's like this little room, like a doctor's office, if you
can kind of imagine that Maybelike twice the size of a
doctor's room when you go to seethe doctor, and then there's
(01:02:46):
this pod in there and thenthere's like maybe a foot of
water.
It's not very deep.
You get to pick your spa music, you know, for like meditation
purposes and relaxation.
The idea is that you'resupposed to get very relaxed.
Your brainwaves are supposed toswitch to this different
frequency that is supposed toinduce extreme relaxation and
(01:03:07):
like I don't really knowwhatever.
Okay, so I got my music.
She gives me my little earbudsand I was like, what are these
for?
And she was like, well, youwouldn't want the salt water to
get into your ears.
You know the salt.
Afterwards and I thought, yeah, yeah, Okay, that makes sense,
Whatever.
So I put them in.
You can still hear the music, which I was surprised about.
So I feel the water and I'mlike, Ooh, it's kind of warm.
(01:03:28):
I was like, like I take coldshowers.
Okay, Like I don't even duringthe winter I take a hot shower,
but during summer, like theminute we get past, like 75,.
Jay Franze (01:03:37):
So much about you.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:38):
Yeah, I take cold
showers.
So I was like, ooh, I don'tknow if I can do this.
I don't really enjoy hot tubs.
I don't really enjoy like whenyou go get a massage and the
table's hot.
I don't like any of that.
I just I don't like it.
That's why I thought when wefirst moved to Florida I was
like I don't know if I'm goingto make it in Florida, I don't
know if I can live down here.
I told Sean I would try.
I'm like I will give it like ayear and I will try, but if I
(01:04:07):
don't like it.
Jay Franze (01:04:07):
Now you're on golf
carts and yachts.
You live a whole different life.
You're talking about salt, notyachts.
They're not yachts Anyway.
Tiffany Mason (01:04:17):
Redneck yachts,
redneck yachts.
So I go in there, I startfloating and afterwards I was
like, hey, babe, I did the floatand he was like how did it go?
And I was like, hey, babe, Idid the float and he was like
how did it go?
And I was like it was kind ofstressful.
So there was this rollercoaster, so it's an hour, which
I was like, oh my God, can I doan hour?
Can I lay here for an hour?
(01:04:37):
I was like I don't know if Ican do this.
So I'm laying there and it'sreally weird.
It's so weird supportive.
I literally felt like I waslaying on a bed and I'm a side
sleeper.
So I was like, ooh, I want toturn to my side.
And then I was like, oh, no,but I'm in water, I'm not
actually like.
So that was really weird.
Then I got super warm there.
(01:04:58):
Thank God there's this littleintercom.
So I pushed a little intercom.
I'm like um, so like I'm hot inhere.
And she was like, yes, open thepod doors.
So there's these little doorsthat you can open, that open to
the rest of the room.
And then a little side trick,if anybody doesn't know this, if
you do get warm and you need tocool yourself off.
If you put the inside of yourwrist on something cool, it will
(01:05:21):
cool your body.
So they were talking about allthese different positions, how
you could lay in the water.
One of them was surrender, which is your hands over your
head.
Well, when you do that, youexpose your wrists and there's a
little breeze over your wristbecause they were wet, right, so
okay, so I'm starting to cooloff.
Okay, I'm going to make it,everything's okay.
And then I'm like I'm justgoing to get out.
(01:05:42):
I'm just going to get out andI'm like, tiffany, you're only
in a foot of water, nothingscary is happening.
And then I get myself reallyrelaxed.
So they tell you that you willmaybe drift a little bit within
the pod.
And so I'm laying there and allof a sudden, like maybe my
pinky nail just barely touchesthe edge and I'm like, oh yeah,
I'm right there, I'm right onthe edge.
(01:06:02):
Then I felt fine.
Then, all of a sudden, I waslike I'm spinning, I'm spinning,
I know I'm spinning.
So I opened my eyes, like all onalert, and it was just this
constant roller coaster of likeI'm going to lose it to like I
was so relaxed, that I couldfeel myself like twitch, and
then I would get all crazy aboutsomething like I'm too hot, I'm
going to get nauseous, I'mgoing to be lightheaded when I
(01:06:27):
get out of here, I'm not goingto be able to drive home, and
then, like I would talk myselfout of it.
So I thought I would share myfloat experience if anybody has
wondered about this and the goodnews is Mr Mason got one for
some reason and he would neveruse anything like that because
he cannot relax for more thanfive minutes, so he can't do an
hour.
But it was a good experienceand I forced myself to stay the
(01:06:49):
whole hour because I was like,no, I want all the benefits.
So I'd be like out with badthoughts and with good vibes,
out with bad thoughts and withgood vibes.
It was learning way too much.
Oh thing, oh yeah, it was.
It was quite the rollercoaster.
So Sean was like how was it?
He was out of state when heasked me, so I said it was hot.
(01:07:15):
And then when he came home heasked me and I gave him the full
, all the details of the rollercoaster of emotions.
But I think the next one I cango and like actually relax
because I already know I can doit.
And you know, that is the onething I would say with anxiety
is like whatever scares you justkeep doing it.
Because, like what was I reallyafraid of?
A foot of water?
I could sit up at any point.
Jay Franze (01:07:39):
No, thank you.
None of that sounds like fun tome, not the way you're
describing it anyway.
Tiffany Mason (01:07:44):
No, no, I'm sure
I did not make it appealing to
anybody just now.
Jay Franze (01:07:49):
No, it seems like
something I might like, but no,
after you described it, nope.
I'm good.
Tiffany Mason (01:07:55):
Yeah, it's a hot
mess.
It was a hot mess for me, butI'm excited to go back and do it
again and I feel like this timeI can be more present because
I'm a fantastic meditator.
Jay Franze (01:08:07):
Not in any sort of
dirty sort of way or anything,
but are you wearing clothes orare you naked?
Tiffany Mason (01:08:11):
Yes, you wear
your swimming suit.
I was going to say that and Iwas like maybe I don't need to
say that, but yes, you wear yourswimming suit.
I mean, they didn't tell me to,but in the video the chick's
wearing a swimming suit, which Isuppose it would be
inappropriate to show a videowhere she wasn't.
But they do not ever tell youyou need to put a swimming suit
on, so I suppose you could do itnaked so it is a private room
(01:08:35):
right, you can lock the door.
I did not lock the door becauseI was like, if I get too hot, I
want someone to come in here andget me, or if I think I'm gonna
get sick, I need a quick exit, naked Naked or not, but no, I
have my swimming suit on.
Jay Franze (01:08:49):
You don't want to
get sick in a pod.
Tiffany Mason (01:08:52):
It's like pooping
in the pool, right, it's not
good, I'm taking a left.
Jay Franze (01:09:00):
Alright, I'm moving
on.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:02):
Yes, please.
Jay Franze (01:09:03):
This past Monday
when George showed back up, we
had Awaiting Abigail on the show.
We had James and Abigail thatcame on.
They talked about their bandand the success they're having
at such an early stage.
They're actually getting readyto go out to LA to perform with
LA Guns, so that'll be a goodshow.
And George says ha ha ha.
(01:09:25):
But yes, they were very nicepeople and their music is pretty
cool.
If you're into bands likeEvanescence and that style of
music, I think you would likeAwaiting Abigail.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:36):
Okay.
Jay Franze (01:09:37):
What I found the
most unique, I guess, about this
band is Abigail 19, just turned20.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:46):
Oh, wow.
Jay Franze (01:09:47):
The oldest person in
the band is 62.
So the span is from 1920 to 62.
And then there's afather-daughter in the band as
well, the father being 62, thedaughter being in her 30s.
Okay, and then everybody elsein the band is probably in their
40s to 50s.
Tiffany Mason (01:10:08):
Okay, that's cool
.
Jay Franze (01:10:09):
So it's definitely a
span of age.
Tiffany Mason (01:10:12):
Well, you did say
that the singing portion is a
young person's game.
Yes, so I would imagine it'sthe 18-year-old Abigail, and is
she the front singer?
Jay Franze (01:10:22):
Yeah, she's 20 now
and she is the singer Definitely
amazing, definitely has a verygood voice.
George says she's a powerhouse.
Yeah, she is the singer, definitely amazing, definitely
has a very good voice.
George says she's a powerhouse.
Yeah, she is a powerhouse.
She can sing for sure.
Like I said, young girl, butshe doesn't come across as young
, she comes across as kind of anold soul.
So she fits in with the olderpeople in that band.
So we'll see.
(01:10:43):
We'll see how it goes.
They've committed to a couplemore years, so we'll see how it
goes after those couple moreyears.
I'm anxious to see what theyhave in their future, because
the style of writing everythingthey do is unique.
they don't do anythingtraditionally so james is a he
comes from a music educationbackground where he's, uh,
teaching people music, andabigail comes from a theater
(01:11:05):
background, so she's verytheatrical.
Anyways, the first few songsthat they did, they did a
four-song demo as a band beforethey had the singer, and then
she came on and actually wrotelyrics and melodies to their
music and it turned out to bevery good.
Then they took a couple songsthat she had done, but she had
(01:11:26):
done them in a more pop formatand they kind of gave it a
little bit more of a rockingedge to it turned them into.
You know good rocking songs thatfit the rest of their songs.
So now that gave them six.
And then when they went in tofinish their album, they went
ahead and did true collaborationas a whole.
They wrote the songs together.
So I'm anxious to see how allthose songs blend together and
(01:11:47):
it works out.
But they were very, very goodband and I'm excited for not
only what they've got going onbut the the opportunities they
have in front of them.
They're playing with Lilian Axeand, like I said, la Guns, so
they've got some big, bigopening spots coming up.
Tiffany Mason (01:12:01):
So I'm excited
worth checking out, she probably
has the powerhouse voice, because if she is theatrical, I
mean a lot of that is projectionand a lot of ballads, so that
makes sense.
Jay Franze (01:12:14):
She has that theater
background and she's also into
film, so I wouldn't surprise herif she starts getting into
directing their videos as wellas doing some film work in the
future.
Tiffany Mason (01:12:24):
That's fun that
she gets to kind of pursue two
passions yeah absolutely Twohonorable mentions this week.
Jay Franze (01:12:31):
I don't know if
you're familiar with David Ortiz
, otherwise known as Big Poppy.
David Ortiz, otherwise known asBig Poppy, was a big baseball
player.
I think he won three WorldSeries with the Red Sox.
He was their first baseman, buthe was known as a designated
hitter.
He was a powerhouse, but he'sbecome the owner of the Red Sox
(01:12:51):
how cool is that?
The team that he loved andplayed for and he's foreign.
I don't know what nationalityhe is, but Boston claimed him as
their own and treated him likefamily, and he never wanted to
leave, and then he turned aroundand he became the owner of the
red socks wow
Tiffany Mason (01:13:11):
very, very cool
that is very, very cool that's
honorable mention number one thefact that they are saying poppy
makes me think some kind of youknow, latino, spanish, mexican
connection there and I feel likethey have such loyalty to their
families.
So if you're saying that Boston, you know, treated him like
family, then he probably felt aton of loyalty to where he got
(01:13:34):
to be famous, make his money andwanted to stay.
Jay Franze (01:13:37):
Dominican Republic.
Oh, okay, there you go.
Tiffany Mason (01:13:41):
The DR David
Ortiz, big Papi.
Jay Franze (01:13:45):
Dominican Republic
First baseman, designated hitter
, three-time World Serieschampion, now owner of the Red
Sox.
Tiffany Mason (01:13:54):
Very cool.
Jay Franze (01:13:55):
It is very cool.
I'm very proud of him.
Not that I had anything to dowith it, but I'm happy for him.
I guess is the better choice ofwords.
I'm very happy for him.
Another one that I had nothingto do with, but it was kind of
cool.
As well as Tom Brady.
We all know Tom Brady.
He has somehow become ahousehold name, but he is now
back in New England and he willbe managing the New England
(01:14:16):
Patriots.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:18):
I think that's
what happens when you marry a
supermodel.
Jay Franze (01:14:21):
Is that what it is?
I don't think the supermodel iswhat kept him word of mouth.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:28):
No, but it
definitely helps you you think
so?
The fact that he's quarterback.
I know, but what's her name?
Jay Franze (01:14:34):
giselle so I bet you
got it okay.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:38):
I didn't think
you would giselle brady,
although I think they'redivorced now right I think they
are.
Jay Franze (01:14:44):
Yes, man yeah yeah,
anyways, very cool for him too
to go, to go back to Boston andNew England.
Yeah, become manager of thePatriots.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:54):
Look at these
Bostonians.
I mean pumping out athletes andmusicians, rock bands Dang
Boston's got it going on.
Jay Franze (01:15:04):
There you go.
I'll take that.
I mean, neither one of them arefrom Boston, but they played in
Boston.
Tiffany Mason (01:15:09):
I mean, you came
out of Boston.
Jay Franze (01:15:11):
No, that's true,
that is true, I did.
I mean and get this my family'sfrom New York, but I was born
and raised in Boston.
Tiffany Mason (01:15:19):
Oh so.
Jay Franze (01:15:22):
I was born on the
right side of the tracks.
And we're getting our comediansout of there of the tracks and
we're getting our comedians outof there.
Like you know, boston is knownfor comedians.
All the good ones, jay leno, isfrom boston.
Tiffany Mason (01:15:35):
I know we've
talked about it before dane cook
is from boston uh, we talkedabout that.
Jay Franze (01:15:40):
Yep, yep can we talk
about dane cook?
Yeah, yep when I um used to dostand-up, my tagline was just
another comedian from Boston.
Tiffany Mason (01:15:53):
Oh, that's clever
Mm-hmm.
Jay Franze (01:15:57):
That's the whole
point.
Try to be clever.
Tiffany Mason (01:16:03):
Did you do
anything fun for Memorial Day?
For what?
Memorial Day Memorial.
Jay Franze (01:16:06):
Day Did I do
anything?
Tiffany Mason (01:16:07):
fun Memorial Day
For what Memorial Day?
Jay Franze (01:16:09):
Memorial Day Did I
do anything?
Tiffany Mason (01:16:10):
wrong Memorial
Day.
Jay Franze (01:16:12):
I don't think I did
anything exciting, just stayed
home.
We don't have a yacht, we don'thave a golf cart to get to our
yacht.
We don't float in the saltwater.
Tiffany Mason (01:16:22):
I mean Well, we
did take the boat out, but
that's not the point of it.
The point of it is well, okay, actually, two things actually.
So we're just part of the boatmembership, like I told you.
So we just take the boat out, have fun with it, bring it back.
They store it, insure it, doall the things.
So we take the boat out, wehave super fun.
(01:16:45):
Preston starts looking a littlered.
I'm like Prestonston, you mightwant to put some sunscreen on.
He's like yeah, what's whatever.
You know, he's 24, you know, invincible still, and his mother
burns.
Okay, like I like to burn.
Pretty good, um, I don't liketo, I just my body does.
I'm irish, we've learned in thelast couple of years nice
anywho.
So irish people burn.
(01:17:07):
Okay, preston, descendant ofmine, of me, and he also has
irish blood, and he burns, itturns out he normally tans, but
this particular day we the waythat the boat reservation works
for a holiday is we could onlyhave the boat for half of a day.
So 1 30 our time was up.
We went out early.
(01:17:27):
It's hot here early, so it wasno problem.
We had a blast.
We were not cold at all.
We go to rev up the boat andthe engine will not turn on, and
we're getting like an uh errormessage or whatever, like a
beeping sound, and so, like gosh, I don't know, the boating
community is amazing, like.
Also, another thing you have tokeep eye on is the tide.
(01:17:50):
Literally, if you forget tolike, if your boat is anchored
at like a sandbar and you don'tpay attention to the tide, your
boat can get stuck there, andthen you're stuck there for like
four hours till the tide comesback up.
Okay, cause the tide changesevery six hours.
Okay, so we're sitting there andwe realize, well, okay, we had
(01:18:14):
oh God, I don't even want to saythis, cause you're going to
just make fun of me more we hadrented or taken out whatever,
made a reservation for thisdouble decker pontoon boat that
had a slide that went off of it,right, and so other people that
were there, they were like canwe go off your slide, can we go
off your slide?
We're like, yeah, go for it.
(01:18:34):
So then they were jumping offthe top of the boat, and it was
very fun, okay.
So those same people, though, were like oh, what's going on?
You can't, your boat started.
What's going on?
So everybody like rallies andeverybody's like try this and
and a couple of people had likejumper kits for the batteries.
Turns out the battery was fine.
Then this guy, like this angel, appears and he's like oh, I
(01:18:56):
work on boats, that's my job, that's what I do every day.
So he gets on the boat.
We're calling our boatmembership people.
They're not picking up thephone.
So we're thinking like A don'tyou want your boat back?
And B, it's Memorial Dayweekend, don't you think you
should be answering your phone?
So we're stranded in this supercool area but we can't even
have fun because really we'resupposed to be leaving All that
(01:19:18):
to say Preston's holding theboat up.
I held the boat up for 45minutes and then I said hey,
sean, can we throw the anchorout in the back?
So because of the tide going inand out and where we were, it's
very strong tide so you need ananchor on the front and the
back of the boat.
So we had taken them up becausewe were going to leave.
Now this is 45 minutes in.
I'm like can we please put theanchor down?
So I'm done holding the boat.
(01:19:39):
I've had sunscreen.
Preston like takes over for hismom, which was very cute and
very sweet that he's like I gotthis mom, I'll let go whatever,
but then, like the rest of thetime, he wanted props that he
had been holding the boat for 45minutes.
It wasn't that hard to hold itI had already done it for 45
minutes.
This kid, though, proceeded toget more and more burnt by the
time we got home, like hecouldn't like even just like to
(01:20:01):
touch his skin hurt, and so thenext day I was like hey preston,
how's that sunburn?
He's like I am glowing like afire truck.
I was like I bet you are.
I bet you are.
So when we go out on Father'sDay, I'm sure he will use some
sunscreen All right, I'm goingto take us home.
(01:20:24):
Yeah, yeah, let's do it.
Let's land this plane.
Jay Franze (01:20:26):
