When does a country star get "canceled," and does it even work? In this eye-opening episode, Jay and Tiffany dive into eight notorious country music controversies—from Morgan Wallen's racial slur captured on a doorbell camera to Jerry Lee Lewis marrying his 13-year-old cousin (which rock music rejected but country music... accepted?). Their candid exploration reveals the strange double standards that exist within different music communities.

Beyond cancel culture, we uncover a startling radio industry revelation: 38 of the top 40 most-played country songs weren't even released this year. This leads to a fascinating discussion about why music executives consistently prefer safe, proven sounds over innovation, and how artists like Garth Brooks and Zach Topp initially struggled because they didn't sound like "everything else on the radio."

The conversation shifts to exciting industry developments with Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks preparing a Christmas duet album, Jake Owen returning to old-school country sounds, and rising star McCoy Moore who received life-changing advice from Luke Combs when he was just 16. We also highlight Hardy's darker artistic direction with his aptly-named upcoming album "Country, Country, Country."

Our question of the day—"Who is an artist more people should know about?"—sparks passionate responses from listeners, with multiple nominations for Chapel Heart and several mentions of previous show guests deserving wider recognition. The episode concludes with thought-provoking mailbag questions addressing everything from live album authenticity to AI's growing role in songwriting, where Jay reveals industry secrets about how "live" recordings are often doctored and fixed before release.

Whether you're a dedicated country fan or simply curious about the inner workings of the music industry, this episode offers honest insights into what really happens behind Nashville's curtain. Listen now to join the conversation about authenticity, innovation, and the future of country music.

Before we get started, let metell you about the question of
the day.

Tiffany Mason (01:04):
The question of the day.

Jay Franze (01:04):
The question of the day.
Who is an artist Singer bandwho is an artist that more
people should know about?

Tony Scott (01:13):
Who is?

Jay Franze (01:13):
an artist that more people should know about.
Let's go ahead and save thatfor a little later in the show,
and if you would like to haveyour responses right off here in
the show, go ahead and putthose in the comment section,
and we will do that for you, because we're just good like
that.
All right, ms Tiffany?
I would like to start it offwith an article that I saw that

(01:34):
I thought was humorous, or thatcould potentially be humorous.
Okay, true to form, I did notread it, so Lord knows what
we're getting ourselves into butI like to be as surprised as
you when we do these things.
So the article I found sayseight canceled country
celebrities and what they did toearn it.

(01:54):
I can't wait.
Sounds fun, because I don'tbelieve you can really cancel
anybody, but let's go ahead andfind out what these eight did.

Tiffany Mason (02:03):
Cancel culture.

Jay Franze (02:05):
To get canceled.
Let's see, we're starting offstrong.
Who do you think gets canceledfirst?
Nope, you're wrong.
Morgan Wallen.

Tiffany Mason (02:21):
I was going to say him Dang it, because I don't
feel like he really gotcanceled.
No, Uh-uh.
No so.

Jay Franze (02:30):
I didn't know this happened, but so be it.
He was canceled in 2021.

Tiffany Mason (02:36):
Okay.

Jay Franze (02:36):
For saying the N-word and being caught on his
neighbor's ring doorbell.

Tiffany Mason (02:43):
Oh no, you can't do that.
I get it yeah.

Jay Franze (02:56):
All right, do we know who Jimmy Allen is?

Tiffany Mason (02:59):
The name does actually sound familiar.
Maybe he doesn't sound familiarbecause he got canceled.

Jay Franze (03:05):
He got canceled and we don't know who he is.
Jimmy Allen's former managerclaimed he sexually and verbally
abused her.

Tiffany Mason (03:13):
She was a me too.

Jay Franze (03:15):
I don't know who he is.
The name sounds vaguelyfamiliar, but I don't know who
it is.
He looks kind of like Prince.
I don't know I will give you ahint on the next one okay okay,
he is part of a dynasty.
That would be a duck dynasty ohphil robertson oh, oh.

(03:42):
Well, you know he was cancelledin 2013 for telling GQ that
homosexual behavior was sinfulthat would be, I mean on par
with a Christian stance, Isuppose, but really the next one

(04:04):
.
We've discussed here severaltimes in the past the Chicks,
dixie Chicks, the Dixie Chicks.

Tiffany Mason (04:12):
Well, that was my first guess.

Jay Franze (04:14):
The Chicks, the Dixie Chicks, when lead singer
Natalie made comments aboutPresident Bush.
Made comments about PresidentBush.
That was so bad at the timethat when you would drive by
Sony Records, there would be astack of their CDs on the
sidewalk from people justdriving by and throwing them at
the record label.

Tiffany Mason (04:35):
That's crazy.

Jay Franze (04:37):
Not neatly stacked.

Tiffany Mason (04:39):
Yeah, haphazardly thrown in their direction,
discarded with disdain.

Jay Franze (04:45):
I say that just to imagine how many there would
have to be to make a pile thatsize.
Jerry Lee Lewis.

Tiffany Mason (04:55):
Oh, what did this cat get in trouble for?

Jay Franze (04:59):
Oh dear God.
I mean, if it's not marryinghis 13-year-old cousin, I don't
know what it would be.
Let's see, he was nevercanceled in country music.
In fact the opposite is true.
So why is he on the list?

Tiffany Mason (05:13):
Right, they got desperate.

Jay Franze (05:15):
Oh, he was canceled in rock and roll.

Tiffany Mason (05:18):
Oh, mm-hmm yeah.

Jay Franze (05:21):
For marrying his 13-year-old cousin.
The country community had noproblem with it.
The rock community said whoa, what are you doing?

Tiffany Mason (05:31):
The rock community drew a line in the
sand Country was like I mean, whatever, I get it.

Jay Franze (05:37):
Rock says 13-year-old.
Okay, maybe, but your cousin.

Tiffany Mason (05:41):
No.

Jay Franze (05:43):
No, I don't know how he got away with it.
Me neither.
It's crazy.
I worked on one of his projectsand it was a live recording,
and during that live recordinghe insisted the whole night he
wasn't drinking, and towards theend of the night he goes okay,
fine, I'm drinking.
He was funny all right, thisone.

(06:03):
It's listed under country.
Don't know how, but let's gofor it.
Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Tiffany Mason (06:11):
Oh, what would he be canceled for?

Jay Franze (06:16):
Similar to Morgan Wallen.
He got caught using the N-word.

Tiffany Mason (06:23):
Okay Well, that's kind of frowned upon.
He called his son's girlfriendthe N-word.
Okay well, that's kind offrowned upon.

Jay Franze (06:25):
He called his son's girlfriend the N-word.

Tiffany Mason (06:29):
Oh, my goodness.

Jay Franze (06:31):
Okay, I did not know .
This person got canceled, marenMorris.

Tiffany Mason (06:38):
What'd she get canceled for?

Jay Franze (06:41):
It says did Maren Morris get canceled or did she
just leave?
The results are probably thesame.
Ever since she took on JasonAldean, she's been missing from
the country music conversations.

Tiffany Mason (06:56):
Oh brother, what'd she say.

Jay Franze (06:59):
Next one.
Again, I don't know how thisfalls under country, but this is
the next one and the last one.

Tiffany Mason (07:06):
Okay.

Jay Franze (07:07):
Miss Paula Deen, what the short version is.
That in 2013, she was part of alawsuit brought on by her
former restaurant manager, whoalleged racial discrimination
and sexual harassment.

Tiffany Mason (07:25):
Interesting Little Paula Deen.

Tony Scott (07:28):
All right.

Jay Franze (07:30):
I don't know if that was as fun as I expected it to
be, but you know it's stillinteresting.
I'm not here doing cartwheelsor anything.

Tiffany Mason (07:38):
I was.

Jay Franze (07:39):
I'm not big on canceling I don't feel like you
can cancel people, but Iunderstand it, I get it All
right.
Canceling songs canceling Idon't feel like you can cancel
people, but I understand it, Iget it All right.

Tiffany Mason (07:46):
Canceling songs, canceling books, stop canceling,
just let people have theirideations.

Jay Franze (07:51):
Just makes it more popular, yep.
All right, let's move on to thenews.

Tiffany Mason (07:58):
Well, I know one of our crew members, Amy, is
going to be very excited aboutthis first story we're going to
share.
So Lainey Wilson, Vince Gill, did a tribute performance of Go
Rest High on that Mountain byVince Gill, Of course.
She did To honor televisioncreatives who have passed this

(08:22):
year.
It was a rare country moment atthe Emmys, pausing the show,
bringing somber, heartfeltenergy to the broadcast.

Jay Franze (08:30):
Yeah, they made people cry.

Tiffany Mason (08:34):
Music can do that .
Yeah, evokes a little bit ofemotion.
Yeah, that's nice.

Jay Franze (08:40):
Lainey Wilson.
She used to be an impersonator.
Hannah Montana impersonator.

Tiffany Mason (08:45):
Oh for funny.
She should do some bits duringher shows, yeah it would be
funny.
It would be funny.
Okay, the next thing I want toshare with you is of the 500
most played country radio tracksso far in 2025, tracks so far

(09:12):
in 2025, 38 of the top 40 songswere not released in 2025.
I think that is so interestingand many reoccurrent or gold
classics topping the spin charts.
Even the newer hits from MorganWallen make the list, but only
in small numbers.
Radio is sticking with what'salready been proven.

Jay Franze (09:25):
It's been a big conversation over the past week
or two and, matter of fact, zachTopp was just being interviewed
and he was talking about how, when he went for his record deal
, that none of the major recordlabels would sign him, and they
all said that there's nothing wecan do with your music.
What they want is somebody whosounds like everything else on
the radio, because it's proven.

(09:45):
And financially, from a businesspoint of view, that makes sense
.
But once somebody jumps out ofthat and does something and it
becomes successful, then theyall jump on that.
So, I remember when it wasFaith Hill and Shania Twain and
that was the big thing everybodyhad to have a a hit woman
artist on the label where it wasmostly men on the labels, and

(10:09):
then a woman broke free and thenall of a sudden, you had
another one and then another one.
So now I'm wondering are wegoing to get more throwback
artists?
so it'd be interesting to see ifwhat he got turned down for
will now become a trend.

Tiffany Mason (10:25):
It will be interesting.
I think you're right.

Jay Franze (10:28):
Well, Zach Topp almost didn't get a deal at all
because of it.
And somebody, a moreindependent label, had to take a
risk and it paid off and theywere talking about on the
interview.
They were saying wonder whatthose labels are thinking now
that they all passed on you andhe said well, it's the same
thing that when garth brooks wasout.
So when garth brooks was out,he did the same thing.

(10:49):
He went to every label.
He was a demo singer innashville.
He was singing demos on musicgrow all day long and everybody
wanted him because they lovedthe sound of his voice.
But nobody would take the riskon giving him a record deal and
he actually moved home.
He moved home and gave up.
And someone convinced him tocome back and give it a second
try.
And when they did, he becamesuccessful.

Tiffany Mason (11:15):
You may have heard of some of his music.
I think I can remember a tuneor two, at least one, right,
yeah, okay, well, jake Owenactually has a new album, dreams
to dream, and that is comingout november 7th and it strips
back his trend chasing and leansinto old school country sound

(11:36):
co-produced with shooterjennings and I don't know.
I was just intrigued by thename shooter jennings, and so I
was looking up some interestingfacts about him.
I'm not really sure.
Sometimes these things leaddown rabbit trails.
And so he was actually born inNashville to Mr Whalen and his
wife in 79, which that's theyear I was born.

(11:57):
So it makes sense that he's agood dude.
But it was kind of cute.
There's two stories on how hegot his nickname shooter.
So his mother cited that herhusband, waylon jennings love of
western culture and country artfor inspiring the gun derived
moniker shooter.
But his father came this is socute.

(12:19):
His father said he came up withthe name when, moments after
the newborn emerged from hismother's womb shooter, the boy
sprayed a nurse before anyonecould put their finger on his
first diaper.
I love my mom says jenning, butI like my dad's version better
and I believe it's true hedidn't make that stuff up.
It made me laugh because webrought Preston home and we got

(12:44):
home and Preston was on thechanging table and my husband
was, I don't know, changing likethe fourth diaper or something,
and the phone rang.
So I started talking to whoeverit was and all of a sudden he's
like Tiff, tiff, tiff.
Preston is just peeing rightinto his own eye.
Nice.

Jay Franze (13:03):
That's lovely.

Tiffany Mason (13:05):
But we did not nickname him Shooter.

Jay Franze (13:07):
I have girls.

Tiffany Mason (13:10):
It's a whole different challenge.
Lots of nooks and crannies.

Jay Franze (13:14):
Did you know that Jake Owen was a golfer?
He was actually a competitivegolfer before getting into music
.

Tiffany Mason (13:20):
No.

Jay Franze (13:22):
Yeah, he was a golfer and got injured
wakeboarding and was unable tobe a professional golfer anymore
, so he took up songwriting.
Oh, my goodness All thesepeople who are professional
athletes, who get injured andthen say, well, I guess I'll
just be a songwriter.
I guess.

Tiffany Mason (13:37):
Yeah, just give it a whirl.
Yeah, we'll see where it goes.

Jay Franze (13:40):
My favorite was Average Joe, which was a folky
rock singer back in the 90s andearly 2000s.
But he was amazing.
But he was a football playerfor the University of Central
Florida and got injured and hecouldn't leave his apartment.
So he picked up his roommate'sguitar, taught himself how to

(14:01):
play, started writing songs andbecame one of the most notable
songwriters in that genre acrossthe country.
Quickly was on every radio showsinging songs.
He was singing, you know, invenues all around central
florida, I mean he was a bigdeal.
He was in the movie saving sarahmarshall playing his music in a

(14:23):
bar scene.

Tiffany Mason (14:24):
Jeepers.

Jay Franze (14:29):
I wish I would just accidentally step into a pot of
luck.
I'm telling you, I don't knowwhat it is about athletes,
Something about the hand-eyecoordination maybe I don't know.

Tiffany Mason (14:41):
Okay, well, the next story is that the Field and
Stream Music Fest hasofficially been canceled again
for the second year in a row, despite being slated for future
major stars like Miranda Lambert, red Green, eric Church and
more.
Organizers say circumstancesbeyond their control forced the
decision, and refunds fortickets and camping etc.
Are being processed now.

(15:02):
How much money do you think isbeing refunded?

Jay Franze (15:06):
A lot, I didn't realize it was canceled last
year.
I like Field and Stream.
I think that would have beenpretty cool, but no, I did not
realize it was canceled lastyear.
I would like some more insight.
Please Somebody come on hereand tell us what's really going
on.

Tiffany Mason (15:23):
Yeah, yeah, that's what I think too.
What was beyond your control?
If you have those names linedup, I don't know Someone didn't
dot an I or cross a T.

Jay Franze (15:35):
Somebody had their Cheerios beaten.

Tiffany Mason (15:39):
Someone got fired , there you go.

Jay Franze (15:43):
Okay, I just realized you haven't been fired
yet tonight.

Tiffany Mason (15:46):
The button's cold , well, we don't need to use it.
Um, we're going to talk abouthardy, also to not be confused
with john party.
So hardy is his own entity andhe just dropped a video for
bottom land.
The song was actually prettygood.
It sets up a haunting toneahead of his upcoming album

(16:07):
Country, country, countryCountry what an original name
Sleated for September 26, so nottoo long from now.
The clip and the track diveinto darker ground, showing
Hardy's not afraid to shake upexpectations in country rock.
You know the song if I dieyoung, bury me in satin.
Okay, he's in a casket and he'sgot his camel on and it shows

(16:31):
his feet at first, but then he'sjust singing from the casket.
So I guess this is the darkerside that they're talking about,
the haunting darker side.
It wasn't very haunting in myopinion.
There was some fake steamcoming off the pond, but you
haunting?

Jay Franze (16:47):
in my opinion there was some fake steam coming off
the pond, but I mentioned thathe was into rock before country
and he's got that duality on hisalbum.
I like that stuff.
But before that he was evenwriting songs for morgan wallen.

Tiffany Mason (16:58):
He wrote songs for blake shelton, so I mean,
it's not like he doesn't havetalent yeah, I, I guess Jeepers,
how cool is that to go frommaybe like working on your
confidence, like if you have theskill set to write songs and
then they go to these majorartists, then you're like, wait

(17:19):
a minute, I know I've mentionedJustin Wilson to you and I was
looking up a singer songwriterfestival a different artist and
he's going to be there.
Singer songwriter festival adifferent artist and he's going
to be there and this guy's voiceis like so good that it kills
me that he's not like arecording artist maybe that
should be part of our questionof the day well, it's one of my
answers, so it's what got methinking about that.
But, yes, it.

(17:40):
It does beg the question whysome people choose to just say
singer-songwriters, and it couldbe, you know, lack of talent or
lack of desire, but I would notmind picking some people's
minds or brains who have juststayed in that lane.
Well, next is going to be MrMcCoy Moore.

(18:02):
Do you know this gentleman?

Jay Franze (18:08):
Barely Because I I mean he's new, he's like what 20
?

Tiffany Mason (18:10):
nothing yeah, he's 24 and it says that he, um,
is like taken off.
So everybody, hold on to yourshorts.
Mccoy moore he's going to bethe name I'm thinking that we're
all going to hear because, um,he actually just got signed to
Sony Music Nashville.
But I thought it wasinteresting.
In 2018, when he was just 16years old, he actually met Luke

(18:31):
Combs and somehow they had aconversation and Luke Combs gave
him some advice you know, justbe true to yourself, sing
authentically, have fun, thatkind of stuff.
And then, when he was 19, hemoved to Nashville.
So I guess I don't know whatthe average age is, but that
seems young to move to a town sobig.

Jay Franze (18:50):
I've noticed the artists are moving younger and
younger to Nashville.
We had Josie Sal on the show.
She was 13 when she was on theshow.
She's 14 now and she's playingshows everywhere.
I mean, that girl is insaneright now and writing amazing
songs.

Tiffany Mason (19:07):
Can you imagine that much pressure at that age?

Jay Franze (19:11):
And she looks like she's having fun.
Doesn't look like any pressurein the world to her, but I'm
sure there's a lot of stuffgoing on behind the scenes.

Tiffany Mason (19:18):
Well, also, ignorance is bliss.
So you know, at that age maybeyou don't realize the gravity of
what you're actually doing.
You just think like, oh, thisis cool.

Jay Franze (19:26):
Well, your McCoy there probably got his boost of
confidence because he blew up onTikTok before becoming a
recording artist.

Tiffany Mason (19:33):
Oh, okay, okay.
Well, later this year he'sactually hitting the road with
Hardy Coe Wetzel and StephenWilson Jr on the Jim Bob World
Tour.

Jay Franze (19:43):
Wow, Well, that builds some confidence right
there, for sure.

Tiffany Mason (19:48):
Mm-hmm yeah.

Jay Franze (19:49):
Those will be some great mentors.

Tiffany Mason (19:51):
Yeah right, oh my gosh being in great company.
They say you are the sum of thefive people you hang out with
the most, so three of them.

Jay Franze (19:59):
Are hit.
Country Party, there you go.

Tiffany Mason (20:01):
Yeah, it'd probably be pretty good.
He's part of the country nextcrop, so early promise, a clear
vision, and listeners arebeginning to take notice.

Jay Franze (20:15):
So keep your eye on Mr Moore there you go.

Tiffany Mason (20:17):
Okay, now this next one.
I have a question for you.
Have you heard of this countrymusic and club music, or country
club music?

Jay Franze (20:26):
There's what I think you're referring to as the
mixture of genres, where you'remixing country with a club genre
Seems to be a very popularthing going on right now where
there's artists in the countryworld who are using drum beats
and stuff instead of realdrummers yeah, which drives me
insane.
I'm not a fan.
There's a few people who do itand I like them as artists and I

(20:48):
like their music.
Like Chase Matthew, I'm not afan.
There's a few people who do itand I like them as artists and I
like their music.
Like Chase Matthew.
I like Chase Matthew a lot.
He's a if you haven't heard ofhim, he's an up and coming
country artist.
Right now I just got off theroad he's getting ready to go on
a big tour.
He's going to be here thismonth, I think.

Tiffany Mason (21:01):
Oh cool.

Jay Franze (21:01):
So he's doing great and he's an amazing artist, but
his song that's on the radioright now is using a drum beat
versus a real live drummer.

Tiffany Mason (21:13):
Well, I thought it was interesting because
Hannah is a freshman this yearand at school they had spirit
days when the week leading up tothis big rival game that we had
going on and she was like Mom,should I dress as country or
club?
She was like mom, should Idress as country or club?

(21:35):
And I was like, uh, a littlebit of tear in the headlight and
I said I think she wasn't evenmean.
And I said, well, I think it'slike traditional country versus
country, that kind of is mixed.
Well, what I said to her wasthat's mixed with ns, ns, ns, ns
, lovely.
And she was like, okay, okay, Isaid like I think shibuzi would
be like club country, you know.

(21:56):
So I was trying to explain itto her but it was a new idea for
me.
I guess I didn't know theseterms, so I thought maybe that
the crew members wouldn't knowthem.

Jay Franze (22:08):
There's a lot of controversy going on about that
right now is does that belong incountry music.
I like when people borrow thingsfrom other genres For a while
it was very popular to put adrum loop into the country songs
, but it was a drummer playingthe drum loop and then they
would play their part over thatdrum loop that they just played.
So I like that.

(22:30):
It was kind of cool.
It gave a different vibe tostuff and they were borrowing
the idea from pop music, butthey were playing it and they
were changing it.
So now if you're just doing thesame exact thing by taking a
drum machine or a drum beat thatsomebody else is using or
somebody else has created andyou're just building your song
around that, or if you have mego yeah.

(22:52):
That's going to be our nextsample.
By the way, I've got a samplethat you did the other day.
That was off the wall.

Tiffany Mason (23:01):
Oh brother, Wait for it.
You guys, Jay's working on anew tune.

Jay Franze (23:06):
I'm going to start loading up some new buttons.

Tiffany Mason (23:08):
Oh gosh you guys jay's working on a new tune.
Start loading up some newbuttons, oh gosh.
Well, the next thing I'm goingto tell you about is healing
apalachia lecha whatever isactually.
Um, they bring awareness to theopioid epidemic um hate mail
tiffany at jay franzy.
Why?

(23:28):
Why am I getting hate mail forthat you?

Jay Franze (23:30):
said whatever to Appalachia.

Tiffany Mason (23:33):
Appalachia.

Jay Franze (23:34):
Is it Appalachia?

Tiffany Mason (23:35):
or Appalachia.

Jay Franze (23:37):
I always say Appalachia, but I don't know.

Tiffany Mason (23:39):
Okay, appalachia, okay, well, and they?

Jay Franze (23:42):
I'm a Yankee living in the South, I can't be
expected to pronounce everythingcorrectly.

Tiffany Mason (23:49):
At least I have respect for it.
Okay, well, whatever, anyway,so I'm kidding, it's going to be
September, oh, it's thisweekend and it is in Ashland
Kentucky, ashland, kentucky, andthey have announced Chris
Stapleton and Childers Childers, childers, childers, thank you
Will be there.
It's going to be a good event.
Expect roots, powerful voicesand a community vibe that honors

(24:12):
the Appalachian music richtradition.

Okay, well, he is um openlyapplauding his growing fan base,
calling them rabid for theirpassion and dedication for an

It's been a little while sincehe's been here, but he is a very
nice guy.
He's got an influence of 90srock songs.

Flushie, because Bella, who's 15 now, when we met
Flushie she was working atWetzel's Pretzel and she would
give my sorry, kathy, kathy'stelling me easy.
But we met Flushie working atWetzel's Pretzels and my

(36:31):
daughter was like three at thetime and we'd get slushies from
her.

Tony Scott (36:36):
Oh, yeah, and she couldn't pronounce slushies, so

guests of the show at this point.

Tiffany Mason (37:51):
Okay.

Jay Franze (37:51):
Okay, so if you've put in a guest of the show,

She just had a baby, so she's been out of the scene
for the past few months.

Tiffany Mason (38:22):
I don't know how they get back into it, man.

Jay Franze (38:24):
That's my fear.

Tiffany Mason (38:29):
Whenever a friend of mine would have a baby, I
would always be like so I'll seeyou in a year.
You know, the baby just takesover your brain your life, your
house, your car.

Jay Franze (38:37):
That's what we were saying with Thomas.
Rhett Thomas Rhett See as soonas his wife has that baby.
We said she'd leave it Rightnow.
She takes it everywhere, soshe'll be leaving it.
Logan says Matt Oakley Anothergreat artist.
Luke says JD Reynolds.
Maya says High Mountain Breezes.

However, super, super talentedand they play probably 300 and
something shows a year.

Tiffany Mason (40:22):
I thought you were going to say 300 and
something.

Jay Franze (40:24):
instruments no they probably do.
I mean, they're very talentedpeople all at one time.

Tiffany Mason (40:29):
You should see it .
It's amazing.

Jay Franze (40:32):
No, there's only two of them, a husband wife.
He plays guitar and he playsbass with his feet.
She sings and plays drums andplays flutes and plays bass with
trigger pads.
And when I say with triggerpads I don't mean she hits it
and the trigger pad plays a bassline.
I mean she's got all the noteslaid out on the trigger pad and

(40:55):
plays them based on the note.
So I mean, they're a talentedband and they write commercial
songs, I mean, and she's justgot a great love to see the
brain activity, no, while'replaying.

Tiffany Mason (41:08):
It's too much for me to imagine their whole brain
has to be lit up.

Jay Franze (41:14):
All right, my friend .
Well, that's what we have forthe question of the day.
If you would like to submityour question of the day, please
head over to jfrenzycom slashquestion.
We are always willing to gowith yours over ours because,
let's face it, they're probablybetter anyway.

Tiffany Mason (41:31):
All right, you want to talk about the charts.
You want to see who's movingand shaking on the charts.

Jay Franze (41:35):
Yeah, that's the exact way I wanted to look at it
Moving and shaking.

Tiffany Mason (41:40):
Well, they're moving like up and down, you
know.

Jay Franze (41:42):
Whoa, whoa, you're always going to take it too far.

Tiffany Mason (41:54):
Yeah, that was me all right number 10, because we

stop the thing here.

Tiffany Mason (42:23):
Stop, okay, okay.

Jay Franze (42:25):

kelly kelly's.

Jay Franze (44:34):
I'm sorry, kelly, I looked it up just so we can.

not spelled traditionallyM-A-D-D-Y-E.
Last name True T-R-E -W.
That sucks, Because she cannever call the doctor's office
and be like it's Maddie True.

Jay Franze (48:20):
She has to spell that out every single time I'm
wondering if it's her recordlabel, true blue music oh, look
at that, you are on to somethingthere.
You're so observant, jay she'snot just an artist.
She owns her own label.

Tiffany Mason (48:43):
Pretty cool.

Jay Franze (48:43):
You got to have talent to do both those things.
Those are two full-time jobsfor sure.

Tiffany Mason (48:50):
Yeah Well, something I learned in one of my
podcasts is that people inleadership can be more
successful because they have ateam of people to delegate all
the tasks to.

Jay Franze (49:01):
True statement yeah, she maybe is doing a lot of
delegating.

Tiffany Mason (49:02):
True statement yeah, she maybe is doing a lot
of delegating.

Jay Franze (49:05):
I need another team.

Tiffany Mason (49:08):
I have no team anymore, all right.
Well, spot number nine goes toCountry Boy by Randy Cobb, and
he was in spot 10, so he'sbumping up and we've got.
You Were there by ThompsonSquare, what number are they
Forget your rhyme?

Jay Franze (49:28):
What number?

Tiffany Mason (49:28):

Thank you.
I impressed myself, and then Iwas like they must have
impressed themselves.
Anyways, it's Jay's favoritenumber, number eight.

Jay Franze (49:40):
We have spot number ocho, thank you, oh, wait, wait,
wait, go ahead, tell me seven,Tell me seven.

Tiffany Mason (49:47):

Jay Franze (49:56):

Tiffany Mason (49:58):
You just wanted to say it.
I just want to say it, that'sall, all right, you just wanted
to say it, that's all alright ifyou want to hear the song.
It's on the playlist oh snapjfrancycom countdown alright, if
you want to hear the songnumber six.
That was number five.
It is turn the night on bychris kizza kizia, I don't know

(50:22):
if that's right, it's just whatthe computer keeps telling us.

Jay Franze (50:24):
It is Turn the Night On by Chris Kizia, kizia, kizia
, that's what I said.
Kizia, I don't know if that'sright.
It's just what the computerkeeps telling us.

Tiffany Mason (50:29):
I thought I was going to get it right too, but I
messed up on the second I KiziaSpot.
Number five is I Don't Know howto Say Goodbye Bang Bang, boom
Boom.
We listened to this song lastweek after the episode, after we
were done recording, and Iliked it.
And, jay, you said it had avery dwight yokum sound to it,

(50:49):
and it does, and it is by dwightyokum and post malone has a
very dwight yokum sound to it.
It's by dwight yokum yeah, well, yes, well, we weren't sure you
were saying like it would.
Yeah, if you hear, it justsounds like it's from the day.
Yeah, from his day it reallydoes.

Jay Franze (51:09):
All right, kathy, you ready for me?

Tiffany Mason (51:14):
hanging out, hanging out in spot four another
week hide and go cheat by byEric Lee Bedingfield.
Is that?
Is it Natasha?
Is it Natasha's husband Nice?

Jay Franze (51:26):
I get it.

Tiffany Mason (51:29):
You see what I did there.

Jay Franze (51:30):
I do, I see that Go to the next one.
I want to say something aboutit.
Go quick.

Tiffany Mason (51:35):
Okay, okay, okay.
Spot number three, holdingSteady for Another Week is read
by Jet JuergensmeyerJuergensmeyer.

Jay Franze (51:42):
Juergensmeyer, I like saying it, juergensmeyer, I
know you do.

Tiffany Mason (51:45):
Yeah, it's fun Okay.

Jay Franze (51:48):
Spot number two Oop, oop, she loves my country.

Tiffany Mason (51:58):
She loves my country.
By Louis Bryce Louis LouisLouis Bryce Louis Louis.

Jay Franze (52:03):
Louis Bryce.

Tiffany Mason (52:04):
Louis, not Lee.

Jay Franze (52:06):
Is that Lee's brother?

Tiffany Mason (52:08):
I think so.
I mean same spelling, soprobably Okay, in spot number
one she finally made it Comingfrom.
Spot number two is Ashley Ryanwith my Crazy.

Jay Franze (52:33):
Louis Bryce is Lee Bryce's brother.

Tiffany Mason (52:36):
It is Mm-hmm.
Oh my gosh, I knew Lee.

Jay Franze (52:39):
Bryce has a brother.
I just didn't realize that itwas Lewis, but yes, Well, he's
on the Pump House Records.
There you go.
Lee can't help a brother out.

Tiffany Mason (52:52):
No, no, lee Bryce performed here last Saturday,
on the 13th.

Jay Franze (52:58):
He's a talented dude , Worked with him quite a while.
He is definitely he's atalented dude.
Worked with him quite a while.
He is definitely talented.
He's a similar story to GarthBrooks.
He came to town, he was asongwriter and he was singing
demos for everybody in town.
People loved his voice butnobody wanted to give him a
chance.
They finally gave him a chance.

(53:18):
Curb Records gave him a chanceand they said Look, we're going
to give you one chance to getout there and make this happen,
and it almost didn't.
All right, we have receivedsome mail.
You've got mail and I have beencriticized for not reading it on
the show.

Tiffany Mason (53:40):
Oh, so they're like.
I wrote you and you did not sayanything on the show.
Oh so they're like.
I wrote you and you did not sayanything on the show, Correct?

Jay Franze (53:46):
Because on the website it clearly says may be
read on the show it doesn't saywill be.

Tiffany Mason (53:53):
It says maybe they got their hubs up high.
Anyways, everyone wants theirone second of fame.

Jay Franze (53:58):
I'm going to go ahead and read some of these.
If you would like to have yourcomments not read on the show,
please feel free to go to thewebsite.
Fill out the form and I won'tread yours either.
Shadefrenzycom slash mailbag.
All right, derek.

(54:19):
Derek says could you bring morebehind the scenes stories about
touring life?
Those are always the most funto me.

Tiffany Mason (54:29):
Oh well, maybe Billy Joe could come on and once
the show gets rolling she couldtalk about a couple of those.

Jay Franze (54:35):
That is a very good point.
I personally don't have toomany touring stories.
I've spent the majority of mycareer inside the studio, not on
the road, but I have had anopportunity or two, three, four
maybe, to go on the road with afew artists.
So I do have some stories, butI will do my best with some of

(54:55):
those.
All right, vanessa, thank youfor writing in.
I appreciate you.
I'm going to go ahead and readyours now.
On the show live.
She says George Strait shouldhave won every CMA Entertainer
of the Year, not just a few.

Tiffany Mason (55:16):
Oh, just a clean sweep.

Jay Franze (55:18):
Just a clean sweep.
I don't know.
I've never seen him performlive.
I know he's one of the best,but I get the impression there's
not a lot of movement there.
I don't think he's like GarthBrooks.

Tiffany Mason (55:31):
I mean, I do know that he did a lot of hip
movement.

Jay Franze (55:34):
Whoa.
Why is it always going to goback to that with you?
Everything?
Sorry, vanessa, I know thewomen were engaged all right, we
said he's the most importantman in country music.
Our opinion for sure.
Not the articles, but ouropinion, him and garth brooks
yeah, if we're gonna say bestentertainer.

(55:55):
I would probably go with garthbrooks.
I mean that man was swingingfrom cables, oh yeah, no, I
would agree with yes, I meanhe's definitely got the most
number one hits and he's just abeast.

Tiffany Mason (56:07):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (56:08):
Thank you, bob Bullock, engineering all those
records that I did not get toparticipate in Hunter.
I'm sorry.
Sorry, another comment come inand distract me.
I'm like squirrel.

Tiffany Mason (56:21):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (56:21):
Hunter says the sound quality of your show is
killer.
You can tell there's a probehind the production.
Aw Thank you Give all thecredit to Tiffany.

Tiffany Mason (56:34):
No.

Jay Franze (56:35):
Jake, why don't they release more live albums
anymore?
Some of the best music is rawperformances.

Tiffany Mason (56:43):
That's true.

Jay Franze (56:45):
Yep.

Tiffany Mason (56:46):
Somehow the energy from the audience does
come through.
Yeah, Well.

Jay Franze (56:54):
I hate to say this and I probably shouldn't say it,
but a lot of when I say a lot, probably all of the live
recordings that you hear havebeen doctored and fixed and
they're not.
They're not 100% live.
When you hear the record, right, you know they go back, they
replace things, they even tunevocals.

(57:15):
I mean they, they fix things onthose live records.
I know because I was the onehired to do it.
So, yes, those records they doget altered, but there are
people who are just awesome anddon't need to be fixed.
That's what we should befighting for.

Tiffany Mason (57:35):
They should have to claim it.
How impressed would you be tobe like huh, not auto-tuned,
interesting, right, like itwould be a big bragging point.

Jay Franze (57:47):
I mean, I would say, lean on rock music for that.
But even rock music these daysthey're starting to tune things.
Everybody wants to be perfect.
Music's not supposed to beperfect.
Olivia, oh Olivia, thank youvery much.
Your question of the day.
Segments are my favorites.

Tiffany Mason (58:10):
I always look forward to hearing what other
people have to say Makes sense.

Jay Franze (58:14):
Thank you, Ethan.
Ethan says do you think AI willreplace humans when it comes to
songwriting?
It's a scary thought, but I'mcurious to hear your take
writing.

Tiffany Mason (58:22):
It's a scary thought, but I'm curious to hear
your take.

Jay Franze (58:26):
I do think AI is playing more of a role in
songwriting now than peoplethink it is.

Tiffany Mason (58:40):
Yes, I think.

Jay Franze (58:40):
AI is playing a bigger role in our life than
people think it is.
Yeah, I think people are notaware of how much creative
people are relying on AI thesedays, because it makes things so
much easier If you think aboutthe role of songwriters who sit
in a room together.
They sit in this tiny littleroom and they sit there and the

(59:02):
first thing they say to eachother is all right, you got any
ideas?
No, you got any ideas.
No, all right.
So they try to come up withsomething.
So for them to be able to turnto AI and say give me 10, you
know song ideas, and it'll comeup with song titles.
And that might trigger them tosay, ooh, you know what I like

(59:26):
this, let's change it to thisand let's go with this.
And next thing, you know thatsparked their creativity and now
they're off writing a song andhopefully that's as far as it
goes, right.
But no, now you get some peoplesaying, hey, you know what?
Just go ahead and write theverse for me.
Or you know what?
I've written the verse in thechorus, but I'm having a hard
time coming up with the bridge.

(59:46):
And then, next thing, you knowthey're using AI to do that, and
I don't know if they're usingit 100%.
I'm sure some people are butthey're doing it and they're
starting to rely on more.
So do I think it's going tohappen?
yep, absolutely there are somesongs that are not only 100 ai
written right now, but they're100 ai performed and they're

(01:00:08):
doing well, so they're rackingup plays on spotify, yeah, so if
you really want to hear some ofthis stuff, just go google some
ai songs and look them up onspot Spotify and you'll see they
have hundreds of thousands ofplays.

Tiffany Mason (01:00:27):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:00:28):
I can't imagine there's that many people curious
.
I think they just think thosesongs are good.

Tiffany Mason (01:00:34):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:00:35):
And I think it's going to be like anything else,
like other tools that we've comeacross throughout time, like
drum machines or things likethat.
We always think they're goingto take over.
There'll be no use for adrummer ever again.
But then we get sick of it andthen we start hiring drummers
again.

Tiffany Mason (01:00:52):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:00:52):
So I think what's going to happen is AI will
probably take a big place inwriting, in probably even
recording music, evenengineering music.
There's AI mastering servicesout there, so I mean you can
have your songs mastered in 30seconds using AI.
It's insane.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:12):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:01:12):
But eventually people will get sick of it and
it'll start going back.
That's my take.
You asked for it, you got it.
Mark D Mark are you related toFrank.
I need to know you wrote in.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:27):
Please, for the love of.

Jay Franze (01:01:28):
God, mark answer him .
He says country and rockcollaborations are way better
than country and pop.
Mark.
I agree with you 100%, not evena question of my mind, I agree
with that 100, 100%.
Not even a question of my mind.
I agree with that 100%.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:43):
Unanimous agreement.

Jay Franze (01:01:44):
Absolutely prefer the country and rock collabs
over the country and pop ones.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:49):
Yep, I cannot argue with you on this one, jay.
I just want to, but I can't.

Jay Franze (01:01:54):
Yeah, I don't blame you for wanting to Rick.
Rick says Morgan Wallen's newalbum is overrated.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:04):
Okay, I mean, I don't know if you've heard the
songs.
There's 37 songs and about 31of them are amazing.

Jay Franze (01:02:14):
He says it's solid but not groundbreaking.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:18):
I don't know that 20 Cigarettes song.
It's Got Me.

Tony Scott (01:02:23):
Huh, and that I Got Better it's.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:24):
Got Me Huh and that I Got Better.
Since you Got Gone what I don'tknow.

Jay Franze (01:02:30):
You know what I like ?
Morgan Wallen.
I like his music.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:33):
Mm-hmm.

Jay Franze (01:02:35):
But I can see where Rick is coming from.
If you compare it to music ofthe past, does it hold up?
Is it as good as some of theother stuff?

Tiffany Mason (01:02:46):
I mean If you really pay attention to some of
the lyrics, there are some thatare a little cheesy.

Jay Franze (01:02:53):
Are there.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:55):
Yeah, a couple songs, but that 20 Cigarettes
song, that one is solid, it's asolid song.

Jay Franze (01:03:04):
Kyle says I just saw Jelly Roll live Best concert
I've been to in years.
The man knows how to connectwith a crowd.

Tiffany Mason (01:03:13):
All right, Jelly Roll.

Jay Franze (01:03:15):
Jelly Roll just got some credit for defusing a
situation over the recentpolitical events where people
started arguing and he did notargue back.
He didn't tell people to stop,he didn't tell people what to do
or how to act, he just startedsinging.
I forget which song it was GodBless America, or one of those

(01:03:36):
songs he just started singing itfor himself to put himself at
peace, and the whole crowd juststarted singing along and
diffused the entire situationthat's awesome so good for him.
Megan says why do countrystations play the same 10 songs
over and over and over again?
Why?

(01:03:56):
Because that's what they'rethere to do.
They're there to make sure theycan sell advertising.
It is 100%.
Don't make any mistake about itwhen you're listening to a
radio station.
The purpose of the radiostation is to sell advertising.
The way they do that is byplaying you the top 10 songs
over and over and over again,Because there's no one person

(01:04:18):
who typically listens to theradio all day long.
They just tune in right now tunein, tune out, right.
So every time they tune in,you're playing a hit song.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:28):
They're going to come back when it's time I was
listening to a classic rockstation the other day.
I don't know what song came ongreat song and I was just.
You know, the windows were down.
I was really enjoying myself.
I'm like god, I wonder how manyother people are listening the
same radio station.
You know like I'm on the roadwith like a million people and

(01:04:51):
I'm just thinking like, are youlistening to this same song?
Are you listening to the samesong?

Jay Franze (01:04:56):
you used to be.
You used to be able to drivearound the road.
You roll down the windows andyou hear the same song.
That doesn't happen anymore.
There's too many ways to playmusic, too many ways to hear
other things while you'redriving, like podcasts or talk
shows or books on tape, whateverit is.
So those days Well they're noton tape.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:14):
If they're, I mean unless you have a cassette
player.
Come on, we are old people.

Jay Franze (01:05:20):
Speak for yourself, my friend.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:22):
Books on 8-track.
That is not.

Jay Franze (01:05:26):
Oh, I'm going to end .
I'm going to pick one more, just because I'm having fun with
this.
I like it.
Please submit yours.
Tina says Luke Combs is themodern-day Garth Brooks, and
people just don't want to admitit.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:41):
Luke Combs is the ?
I don't know.

Jay Franze (01:05:44):
I think Luke Holmes has the energy and enthusiasm of
a Garth Brooks.
I think he's got powerful songs.
I like his rockish edge to hissongs.
But, I on this show have saidin the past that I think Trey
Calloway is the modern day.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:02):
Garth Brooks, I was just going to say Yep.

Jay Franze (01:06:06):
Sound wise for sure.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:08):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:06:09):
I don't know, he might even have some of the same
corniness that Garth Brooks has.
But I think Garth Brooks is alittle corny, but man, he's a
rocker and he loves to put on ashow, like I said, swinging from
wires and smashing guitars.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:24):
Those are great memories.

Jay Franze (01:06:26):
So, I think Trey Calloway sounds an awful lot
like Garth Brooks writes thosestyle of songs.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:32):
Yes.

Jay Franze (01:06:34):
I need to go see a show and see if he sell out an
arena and swing from wires, andwe'll see what we get going on
there.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:40):
I mean, I wouldn't put it past him, no.

Jay Franze (01:06:44):
I don't know, it's my two cents.
All right, if you would like tohave your comments right off on
the show.
It's jfrenzycom slash mailbag.
I keep saying that.
Right, I should probably checkit, slash.

Tony Scott (01:06:59):
Where is it right there?

Jay Franze (01:07:01):
Mailbag Yep jfrenzycom mailbag.
I try to make it easy and thenwhen sometimes it just seems so
stupidly easy yes jfrenzycommailbag.
You can go ahead and submityour comments whatever and make
fun of us.
Who cares?
I'll read those too, don'tthink I won't you tell us we're
whack?

Tiffany Mason (01:07:21):
don't put it past us.
I have no problem reading thisstuff, or you know what you
could do.

Jay Franze (01:07:23):
Just go to jfrenzy.
I'll read those too.
Don't think I won't.
You tell us we're whacked.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:26):
Don't put it past us.

Jay Franze (01:07:26):
I have no problem reading this stuff, or you know
what you could do.
Just go to jfrenzycom.
It's all in the menu Click away.
All these things are in themenu, including the countdown.
You can listen to the wholecountdown.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:41):
What do you have going on this week?
Well, I would like to tell thestory of the boot scoot in
Bourbon.

Jay Franze (01:07:45):
Story time.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:47):
It's story time.

Jay Franze (01:07:48):
Crisscross applesauce.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:52):
So I told you guys last weekend that I was
going to go and I was going togo with a friend.
I was really excited.
She got really sick and I waslike oh hey, I have another
friend that could buy yourticket from you, can she buy
your ticket?
And she was like oh hey, I haveanother friend that could buy
your ticket from you, can shebuy your ticket.
And she's like oh yeah, I neverbought a ticket and I was like
wait, what?

Jay Franze (01:08:10):
I wasn't really sick .

Tiffany Mason (01:08:12):
Yeah.
So I had a ticket to go to thisshow and it's like all over my
Facebook and I know twonetworking groups and they had
their ladies going to it and Iwas like I really want to go and
it's supposed to be like a showlike a little bit Vegas-y-ish,
you know, show lights flashinglittle, barely little

(01:08:34):
pyrotechnics, tectonicspyrotechnics.
That's what I said pyrotechnicsyeah, it was just the accent and
yeah, it's the accent, so I wasreally looking forward to it.
So I get there.
I'm asking my husband.
I'm like, do you want to try toget a ticket?
It's sold out.
I'm like, oh my gosh, am Ireally going to go to this thing

(01:08:54):
by myself?
And I was like, well, and Ikept thinking about my friend
Jay, and I was like Jay would go, jay would go, jay would go,
jay would go, jay would go, andmy husband used to go to movies
by himself and he'd go golfingby himself and I'm like, okay,
sean would go, sean would goespecially golfing.
He's joined other people, he.
I think he would just do 18 byhimself, yeah.

Jay Franze (01:09:15):
I would.
Yeah, I'll just join othergroups.
Yep, hey, I'm playing with youyeah, yeah.

Tiffany Mason (01:09:21):
So I was like okay, I can do this, I can do
this, and I hate going to thingsby myself.
So I walk in and I try to evenget there late, which is like 15
minutes late, because that'slike that way people will be
there.
Because I have a tendency ofbeing I don't know like on time
or whatever, and then being thefirst one there, and then when
I'm not meeting anybody, that'seven more awkward.
So I get the little program andI'm walking around it's not

(01:09:44):
that big of a venue and I'm like, okay, what I'm gonna do,
there's like this uh, you know, build your own cowboy hat,
little fender.
So I go down there and I lookat the hats and the ribbons?
I did not.
I did not.
And so I looked at the hats andI looked at the ribbons and the
little gemstones and all thesethings that they can do to the
hat.
Okay, I was like, well, thattook three minutes.

(01:10:06):
So I was like what am I goingto do now?
So I go up, I get something toeat, walk over this table
there's just a little space lefton this table and I'm like,
would I be able to just eat mymeal really quick, and then, you
know, you can do whatever youwant with your company.
And this lady's like, yeah, sure, so I start eating, you
know, and I'm trying to justlike keep to myself.

(01:10:26):
And she said something to meand I was like I have a podcast
about networking, right, thelink up lounge.
So I'm like I should just tryto network.
Yeah, so I'm like I should justtry to make conversation so you
were swinging at this event Iwas not swinging, I was
networking oh, networking, isthat what we call it?

(01:10:50):
yes, she had this purple tinselin her hair and I was like, well
, I kept wanting to put tinselin my hair.
So I was like, let me strike upa conversation with her.
So I'm talking to her and herboyfriend comes over.
He's like hi, I'm jim Ray,what's your name?
And I was like, oh, I'm Tiffany.
And so we're talking and cometo find out they are closely
related to the main performer ofthe night.

(01:11:13):
I'm like wait, what?
So I'm looking around, still,like, as we're talking, I'm
trying to like you know, okay, where are my any familiar faces?
I still don't see anybody.
And I'm like, oh, dear lord, what I'm gonna do.
And so I told them the story, what had happened, and they were
like oh my gosh, you're gonnasit with us.
And I thought, oh, that wasnice, but I'm not gonna burden

(01:11:34):
them, you know, with trying totake me under their wing for the
night.
But I still don't see anybody.
And they are like insist,insistent.
They're like come sit with us,come sit with us, you can come
to the family section.
I'm like, well, this is kind ofcool.
So I'm like, yeah, okay, cool.
So go sit with them.
They introduced themselves asthis guy's bar parents.
So this was Stephen Quinn, theone that I had mentioned earlier

(01:11:57):
in the show, and his voice wasphenomenal.
They were playing all songsfrom the 90s and a couple of
garth brooks songs came up sogood.
The show itself was like highenergy, great costumes, all the
voices were on point.
They had a fiddle player thereand she was so good and yes,

(01:12:17):
they did.
Devil went down to georgia andthe thing was like it was a
perfect night.
So it went from me walking inand being like, oh dear Lord,
what the heck am I doing rightnow?
And then it turned into like somuch fun.
Afterwards he changes out ofhis costumes or whatever.
He comes over, we take a coupleof pictures and they're doing

(01:12:38):
line dancing.
So we go over and we do someline dancing and then, like
we're going to do a family photo.
No, tiffany, you got to be init.
I'm like but you just, I'm likeI'll take the picture, I'll
take the picture.
And they're like no, you got tobe in the picture.
It was so awesome.
Met great friends.
I will be seeing them at anyperformance that Steven has in
the area because he's that good.

(01:12:59):
I would travel to see him.
Steven has in the area.
Because he's that good, I wouldtravel to see him.
And yeah, I just can't sayenough.
It just turned into a fabulousnight.
So no peeps of my own, but Iborrowed some peeps and it
worked out.

Jay Franze (01:13:11):
You'll see him again at Thanksgiving.

Tiffany Mason (01:13:13):
That's right.
That's right.
Family dinner table Nice.
Okay.
What do you have going on?
Did you do anything cool or yougot something cool coming up?

Jay Franze (01:13:24):
So what I'm going to do this weekend is try to go
and check out some music.
So I'm going to go to a placecalled the Live Action Bar.
I mention this because it usedto be Tipsy Cow, tipsy.
Cow was an event here or a avenue here in kentucky that has

(01:13:45):
live music, and I've gone to seepeople like avery glenn
crabtree, who previous guests ofthe show amazing, amazing
artist, just amazing.
Not a recording artist, heplays live.
He I don't know if he has anyintent on recording music, but
he's a live musician who's justamazing.
When I say good voice, goodcharisma, great guitar player,

(01:14:07):
he's very good.
So I've gone to see him playthere a couple times.
I've actually seen Jason Haleplay there a couple times.
So I think Jason Hale evenplayed with Avery Glenn Crabtree
as his bass player on a fewshows.
So it's a tight-knit communityof musicians here, just like it
is in Nashville.
So you see a lot of the samepeople, a lot.

Tony Scott (01:14:32):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:14:32):
Once you become known as being a great bass
player.
In Jason's case, a lot of otherpeople want you to play bass
for them, and when Jason's noton the road touring, he's out
with Jake Worthington right now.
When he's not out on the roadtouring, he comes and plays with
Avery or plays with Kyle Fieldsor whoever else.

Tiffany Mason (01:14:50):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:14:51):
So it's good times.
Anyways, instead of going toLaurie's Roadhouse this weekend,
I thought I would go to thelive action bar.
Now, the reason why I'm soexcited about this is because I
really liked the Tipsy Cow Tipsy.

Tony Scott (01:15:06):
Cow is really good.

Jay Franze (01:15:07):
It's a honky-tonk venue.
Live music was great, but itclosed.
I didn't realize.
They rebranded and reopened.
Oh so they rebranded same owneras the live action bar, so now
I'm going to go back and checkit out.
Sweet, that is my plan for theweekend.

Tiffany Mason (01:15:26):
Wow Fun.

Jay Franze (01:15:28):
Nice.
What's that?
I got the network in my ear.
They're telling me we need towind this down.
So let's go ahead and land onthe plane as you say, or no, you
say, crash the plane.

Tiffany Mason (01:15:41):
Crash it.
We're going to crash it All andthe plane as you say, or no,
you say, crash the plane.

Jay Franze (01:15:43):
Crash it.
We're going to crash it, allright, folks.
Well, we have done it.
We have reached the top of thehour.
What's the hour yet?
Top of number 16?
.

Tony Scott (01:15:50):
Top of hour number two.

Jay Franze (01:15:52):
Which does mean we have reached the end of the show
