Step into the musical time machine with Jay Franze and co-host Tiffany Mason as they navigate through fascinating moments in music history, from Kenny Rogers and Dottie West topping charts in 1978 to The Monkees winning an Emmy that same decade. Their infectious camaraderie and playful banter create the perfect backdrop for music industry insights you won't find anywhere else.

The heart of this episode beats around a simple yet revealing question: What was the first album you ever purchased with your own money? Listeners chime in with touchstone albums spanning decades – from Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic" and ACDC's "Back in Black" to more recent gems like Eric Church's "Chief" and Taylor Swift's "Fearless." These musical firsts paint a vibrant portrait of generational tastes and personal connections to music.

Nashville takes center stage as Jay and Tiffany discuss the upcoming CMA Fest (though Jay insists on calling it by its original name, "Fanfare"), where they'll connect with industry professionals and artists who've been featured on the show. The conversation weaves through breaking news about Jelly Roll's ambitious plans for Nashville's new Nissan Stadium and Post Malone's expanding country music footprint with a massive new venue on Broadway.

Music recommendations shine with Tiffany suggesting indie artist Jolie's hauntingly beautiful "Ghost of Us" and Jay countering with Ukrainian female-fronted rock band No Apology's "Bad News." Their distinct musical preferences highlight the show's diverse appeal and the hosts' genuine passion for discovering and sharing new sounds.

Tony Scott (01:35):
Yes.

Jay Franze (01:37):

Let's discuss some things thathave happened this week in
history.

Tiffany Mason (01:45):
This week of June the 6th Is it the 6th 5th?

Jay Franze (01:49):
It's the 4th today.
It's the 4th, that's all right,it's the first week of June.
Let's just say it that way.

Tiffany Mason (01:56):
Okay, okay.

Jay Franze (01:57):
Okay, first week in June 1978.
Kenny Rogers and Dottie West.
They topped the charts withtheir duet Every Time Two Fools
Cuddle.
Oh wait, no, no, clyde.

Tiffany Mason (02:10):
Clyde, clyde, cuddle, whatever.

Jay Franze (02:14):
I prefer cuddling.

Tiffany Mason (02:18):
I prefer being the little spoon.

Jay Franze (02:19):
I like to be held.
Wait, oversharing, I'm sorry,Stop this week.
2010,.
Taylor Swift she performed atVerizon Center, Washington DC.
That was part of the FearlessTour.

Tiffany Mason (02:35):
Oh Do you remember?
I do not remember I was notthere.
I was trying to figure out somemath.

Jay Franze (02:45):
Did you come off?
Seven thousand dollars for aticket?
Nope, 2012.
Tim mcgraw and kenny chesney.
They launched their brothers ofthe sun tour in tampa, florida
oh snap brothers of the sun whowas it?

Tiffany Mason (03:04):
kenny rogers and him.

Jay Franze (03:05):
Oh snap, Brothers of the Sun.

Tiffany Mason (03:06):
Who was it, kenny Rogers, and who, tim McGraw?

Jay Franze (03:07):
Oh, that was the first person Tim McGraw and
Kenny Chesney.

Tiffany Mason (03:12):
See, I knew there was a Kenny there.

Jay Franze (03:15):
It's even more fun when you don't pay attention.
I like that, that's all right.
2025, not history, but stillit's here, so I'm going to read
it.
A statue of the legend GeorgeJones was unveiled outside of
Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

Tiffany Mason (03:32):
Ah, how cool is that I don't know, is it cool?
Well, yeah, it's George Jones.
Okay, I'm just asking Do youthink it's cool?

Jay Franze (03:40):
Worked on one of his projects.

Tiffany Mason (03:42):
That was a yes or no question.

Jay Franze (03:44):
I don't remember your question.
I'm sorry, I was not payingattention to you.

Tiffany Mason (03:51):
I said do you think it's a big deal that the
statue was put there?
Yeah, sure, Okay, I meanInquiring minds want to know
what does Jay think?

Jay Franze (04:04):
They're here for that.
George Jones yes, I think hewas an important part of country
music and I think that hedeserves some sort of
recognition.
What better recognition than astatue in front of the Ryman?

Tiffany Mason (04:16):
Yep.

Jay Franze (04:17):
Ryman, right there downtown Nashville.
All right, let's see 2008,.
There was a fire, fire.
There was a fire in 2008 it wasat universal studios in
hollywood I have to specifyhollywood, because I know you
being in florida yes but therewas a fire at universal studios

(04:39):
in hollywood that destroyedthousands of master tapes
controlled by Universal MusicGroup.

Tiffany Mason (04:46):
That's too bad.

Jay Franze (04:47):
That is a big deal, isn't it?
Mm-hmm, that's a big deal.
Yeah, unless it was some ofGeorge Jones' recordings, then
it's a real big deal.

Tiffany Mason (04:56):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (04:57):
All right, here's a good one 1968, before I was born
.
So, bob, you cannot be heldaccountable for this.
But the monkeys Bob recordedthe monkeys, he worked with the
monkeys, bob Bullock, that isBob Bullock producer, engineer.
He was working in California atthe time and he worked on a
project for the monkeys.
But the monkeys won an Emmy foran outstanding comedy series,

(05:21):
surpassing shows like the AndyGriffith Show and Bewitched.

Tiffany Mason (05:26):
Huh, interesting.
It doesn't say that they're aTV show.

Jay Franze (05:32):
Yeah, they're talking about.
It's their comedy series, whichis their TV show, the Monkees.
Hey, hey Got it, the Monkees.

Tiffany Mason (05:39):
So yeah, you know , now a series is like on
Netflix, so I wasn't reallythinking of it as, like a TV
show you weren't making thatconnection no, no, no, no.

Jay Franze (05:53):
I would say in 1960.
I am Gen X.
Hey, hey, we're the monkeys.

Tiffany Mason (06:00):
Or am I Gen Z?
No, I'm X.

Jay Franze (06:01):
You're.

Tiffany Mason (06:02):
X.
Yeah, sorry.

Jay Franze (06:04):
If we want to talk about the monkeys I know it's
2025, but Mickey Dolenz he's theonly surviving member of the
monkeys and he celebrated his80th birthday.

Tiffany Mason (06:16):
Oh wow, if I see that it means the other ones
could really be alive still.

Jay Franze (06:21):
Yeah, it is sad.
All right, let's see what elseis on this list here.
David bowie 1967.
David bowie released aself-titled album in the uk
marked the beginning of hiscareer.
So he he started his career.
What two years before I wasborn.

(06:42):
Good for him.

Tiffany Mason (06:43):
Yep, you are so quick with that math.

Jay Franze (06:47):
I know.

Tiffany Mason (06:50):
How'd you do it so fast?

Jay Franze (06:52):
I'm just saying I'm pretty good.
I don't want to mention lastweek there was some math
involved that you were.
You know you were pretty faroff and it wasn't all that bad,
it was only like 11.
But you know, that's okay.
All right, let's end strong.

Tony Scott (07:09):
Can we end strong?
We don't have to end.

Jay Franze (07:11):
I've got more.
There's plenty here, but I'vegot one more that seems worth
mentioning.
What do you think?
One more or 16?

Tiffany Mason (07:20):
more, not 16, but I think three more.
Pick three of your best ones.

Jay Franze (07:28):
Three of best ones yeah, 1967 yeah, the beatles
returned to abbey road ah, okaythey completed the recording of
yellow submarine.

Tiffany Mason (07:40):
We all live in the Elizabethan.
There you go, elizabethan.

Jay Franze (07:46):
Drew Ryder Smith.
He's over there right now andhe was at Abbey Road Studios
today.

Tiffany Mason (07:52):
Oh cool, Shout out to Drew.

Jay Franze (07:56):
It says this day in history, but once again it's
2025, but it says the Grand OleOpry celebrated their 100th
anniversary.

Tiffany Mason (08:05):
Well, yeah, we already reported that that kind
of information came straightfrom this show like a month ago.
Yeah, that they were doing allkinds of celebrations throughout
the year.

Jay Franze (08:17):
We should have ended on one, because then we would
have ended with the Beatles andthis would have been over.
We would have ended strong.
I'm just throwing that outthere.

Tiffany Mason (08:26):
Don't we have one more.

Jay Franze (08:27):
Yeah.

Tiffany Mason (08:28):
Yeah, okay.

Jay Franze (08:29):
So we get one more chance to end strong.

Tiffany Mason (08:30):
Yeah, yeah, here we go, here we go, everybody get
ready.

Jay Franze (08:35):
This week in history , 1977, we have Bob Marley in
the Wailers.

Tiffany Mason (08:41):
What about him?

Jay Franze (08:42):
We have to provide more.
1977, Bob Marley and theWailers they began a series of
four shows.
At the Rainbow Theatre inLondon.

Tiffany Mason (08:55):
Yeah, man.

Jay Franze (08:57):
This was to promote their Exodus album.
Okay, I don't know if that'sending strong, but you know it's
an ending which, but you knowthat's it's an ending which is
the cue that we need to end.
It's like a car crash.
I mean, that's an ending, notthe one we're looking for, but
it is an ending cue theemergency vehicles.

Tiffany Mason (09:26):
Oh my gosh.
Okay, add two to this year andit's 2027.
I did the math for you.
You're so good.
So Jelly Roll announced duringhis Music City Rodeo performance
that he will not be performingin nashville again until 2027.

(09:47):
That is right, breaking news.
You heard it here first.
Jelly roll will not be innashville performing until 2027
because his goal is to be thefirst artist to play at the new
nissan stadium, set to open in2027.
Currently he is touring withPost Malone on the Big Ass

(10:08):
Stadium Tour, which concludes inSan Francisco on July 1st.

Jay Franze (10:13):
So many things there , so many.
For one, I didn't know therewas a new.
Nissan Stadium coming, the onethat's there, isn't that old.
That's what I was kind ofsurprised by.
That was built when I wasliving there, which was not that
long ago.
But does he really have tocollaborate with post malone on
a tour?
Can these people collaborateanymore?

(10:35):
I picture them collaborating inthe food line for breakfast.

Tiffany Mason (10:41):
I mean, I don't get it there's a lot of
crossover or collaboration goingon a lot, and it's kind of like
when we talked about thecelebrities and how, like
different times, there's alwayslike a certain cluster of actors
that you know are always goingto be in a movie together.
It's kind of the same way likewe wouldn't know what to do with
ourselves, you and I, if weheard something about Jelly Roll

(11:03):
or Post Malone and they weren'tcollaborating, we wouldn't
really know what to do withourselves.
You and I, if we heardsomething about Jelly Roll or
Post Malone and they weren'tcollaborating, we wouldn't
really know how to report thestory.
We'd be so confused.
What happened here?
Wait, they're doing somethingon their own.

Jay Franze (11:15):
No.

Tiffany Mason (11:17):
No, maybe they have a codependent relationship,
co as in collaborate.

Jay Franze (11:24):
Stop Collaborate and listen.

Tiffany Mason (11:28):
Listen.
This is back in the editionNice, yeah, okay.
Well, speaking ofcollaborations and Post Malone,
he is expanding his presence incountry music by opening a
26,000 square foot restaurantand music venue at 305 broadway
in nashville.
He's partnering with the tcrestaurant group.

(11:49):
The venue will feature arestaurant bar and live music
performances, reflecting on hiscommitment to the genre
following his 2024 country albumf1 trillion, f1 trillion.

Jay Franze (12:05):
I'm checking.
I believe, if I am not mistaken, that venue used to be the
nascar venue oh well, at first Iwas like oh, a music venue,
cool.

Tiffany Mason (12:20):
And then I read more of the description.
I was like, oh, like all theother ones yeah, there's like
5,000 of them yeah you know whatI thought was the coolest thing
, though I've actually only beento Nashville once and I just
remember like walking down thestreet and, let's see, it was in
September, so the weather wasstarting to cool off a little

(12:41):
bit and I loved that all thevenues had like all their
windows open.
You could hear music comingfrom everywhere and it was just
like pinch me, am I in heaven?

Jay Franze (12:55):
I thought it was pretty cool it is.
I just looked up the nascarcafe bar in n it's the same
address.

Tiffany Mason (13:04):
Oh, he's taking over revamping.

Jay Franze (13:10):
I needed a win after some of these.
The only reason I thought thatis when you said it was 26,000
square feet.

Tiffany Mason (13:16):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (13:18):
The only place that large in that area is the old
NASCAR bar and restaurant.

Tiffany Mason (13:24):
I wonder how his original fans feel about him
being country now.
If he's like I'm committing tothe genre I don't know, do you
think they feel like he sold out?

Jay Franze (13:34):
I'm sure.

Tiffany Mason (13:36):
I like the fact that you said how cool he is
Like if he's like hanging outand he gets the whim to go play
piano with Joe Schmo over here, that's pretty cool.

Jay Franze (13:45):
Not piano.

Tiffany Mason (13:51):
We started out too rough, Jay Should we start
over you can't scare me likethat.

Jay Franze (13:56):
And we are coming at you live Okay.

Tiffany Mason (14:04):
Well, something else going on in Nashville.
Nashville's CMA Fest kicks offthis week.
Nashville Offering four daysYep in Nashville, offering four
days of live music andartist-fand interaction across
the city.
The festival is a staple event, drawing fans from all over to
celebrate country music.

Jay Franze (14:24):
I have a bone to pick with CMA Fest.

Tiffany Mason (14:27):
Whoa is a steeple event drawing fans from all
over to celebrate country music.
I have a bone to pick with CMAFest.
Whoa, that's a big organizationto pick a bone with.

Jay Franze (14:35):
I liked it better when they called it fanfare.
You need to take a stance.
Fanfare no, I mean you're OG.

Tiffany Mason (14:40):
I'm going to go with you, okay.
There you go.
Yeah, I mean, I was OG.
I'm going to go with you, okay.
There you go.
Yeah, I mean, I was on yourside this time, jay, it's not
often, so I just figured.
I'd reinforce it a little bit.
It's true, it's true.

Jay Franze (14:57):
Fanfare.
Cma Fest is a great event.
I mean they have concerts atthe Nissan Stadium.
The big names will play over atthe Nissan Stadium.
They have smaller venues, the5,000 bars on Broadway that are
all owned by country artists.
Different people play in thereand stuff too.
It'll be cool, it's a fun time, and then they also have meet

(15:19):
and greet sections.
A lot of the artists that havebeen on this show will be there
this year.
Cool, cool thing.
If you're in Nashville, gocheck it out.

Tony Scott (15:29):
Moving on to the question of the day.

Jay Franze (15:32):
Question of the day what was the first album that
you've ever purchased with yourvery own money, your very own
money, money that you haveearned in some way?
What is the first album thatyou have ever purchased?
This is a tough one for me,because I believe there's two
that stand out in my mind.
I remember I don't know if Ipurchased it with my own money,

(15:54):
so I'm going to say the firstalbum I ever received was Donny
and Marie.

Tiffany Mason (16:01):
Okay.

Jay Franze (16:02):
But the first album I've ever purchased with my own
money, I believe was theoriginal gogo's album okay, I
very distinctly remember goinginto.

Tiffany Mason (16:15):
I remember going to music land at the mall and
buying a color me bad single.
So I didn't have enough moneyto buy a whole album.
But I do remember a tape, acassette that I used to have of
Tiffany did you have to buyTiffany I?

Jay Franze (16:33):
just wanted to I think we're oh yeah, no, it was
definitely the song.
It was definitely the song yeahthere's a long time ago, jay,
it's because we're old, I knowspeaking of music land, speaking
of previous guests on the showmark modelato is in the the chat

(16:54):
room and he is saying first cddeep purple, perfect strangers
oh, wow but before that he saysK-Tel's rock album.

Tiffany Mason (17:06):
I don't know K-Tel.

Jay Franze (17:08):
K-Tel is just a compilation.
All right, fair enough, mark,if you want to join us,
jfrenzycom slash live.
You know how it works.
All right, let's go down thislist real quick, amy.
Amy says Shania Twain, come onover, on over.

(17:32):
Oh, it's a good one.
Yeah, it's a bob bullock album.

Mark Badolato (17:35):
I can go with that I didn't get to work on it.

Tiffany Mason (17:37):
I know we heard about it.
I'm sorry, I would have likedto.

Jay Franze (17:40):
You know why she's hot.
She's also an amazing singer, and mutt lang, her ex-husband,
is the best producer in theworld, so I would like to work
with her yeah, that would havebeen fun would have been good
good talent, and good talentbehind them are, I was gonna say
, behind the mic, but that's thesinger I don't know.

(18:00):
Behind console she was talentedbefore her husband and she's
talented now after her husband.
But that period where they weremarried and they were releasing
those records, those recordsare like no other.
I mean they are as sharp andwell put together as anything.
But again, it's kind of likewhat we were talking about with

(18:21):
Def Leppard when Mutt Langworked with Def Leppard.
They're a little too polishedsometimes and that's coming from
somebody who likes to polishthe hell out of stuff.
Alright, brian, says Nirvana,never mind.
Alright, brian must be 12.
Sorry, brian, I'm just sayingI'm old.

(18:42):
Lisa says Garth Brooks nofences.

Tiffany Mason (18:46):
Okay, that's a solid purchase.

Jay Franze (18:50):
That's why I feel like these people are making
much better purchases than Imade.

Tony Scott (18:54):
I mean, I like the.

Jay Franze (18:55):
Go-Go's.
Don't get me wrong, I stilllike the Go-Go's.
So I guess it's a good purchase, but it's nothing outstanding.

Tiffany Mason (19:01):
I agree, I'm disappointed in my younger self,
my, but it's nothingoutstanding, I agree, I'm
disappointed in my younger self,my Donny Marie days.

Jay Franze (19:14):
Jason says, oh dear God, he likes.

Tiffany Mason (19:17):
Tiffany, oh yeah.

Jay Franze (19:19):
He says Metallica, Master of Puppets, oh my gosh,
nobody has forgotten what I said.
I am just going to point outthat you probably haven't
listened to a Metallica album inages.
But, dear God, you talk aboutsex one night and that's what
people are going to remember.
That works for me.

Tiffany Mason (19:40):
Sex sells.
Jay Sex sells.

Jay Franze (19:44):
I was just going to make a comment but I'm not going
to.
All right, tina says RebaMcIntyre, read my Mind.

Tiffany Mason (19:54):
Ooh, that was a good song too.

Jay Franze (19:56):
Sing it to us.

Tiffany Mason (19:57):
Read my mind.
Okay, please stop.
No, I don't.

Jay Franze (20:02):
I can't think of Reba without thinking about Jeff
King, guitar player, studiomusician and her touring guitar
player.

Tiffany Mason (20:09):
And prior guest of the Jay Francis Show.

Jay Franze (20:11):
Prior guest.

Tiffany Mason (20:13):
Let's see.

Jay Franze (20:14):
Jeff King one, two, three, four, five.
He was episode number six.

Tiffany Mason (20:20):
Oh, wow, and that made it easy for you to do the
math on that.
It was easy to count One, two.
I didn't even see you use yourfingers.
That's great.
I was tapping my toes.

Jay Franze (20:31):
Oh, okay, oh, this is going to be one of those
nights, mike.
Mike says Leonard SkidderdPronounced Len-herd, skidderd,
skidderd, what I don't know.
He felt the need to tell me howto pronounce it.

Tiffany Mason (20:49):
Len Hurd, skin Hurd.
Maybe he says it kind of funny, like, maybe, like maybe he was
saying it like emphasizing, likeyou can do the claps after
stuff.
Maybe he's like Len Hurd, skinHurd.
You know like a dramatic pauseIs that what it is.

Jay Franze (21:10):
Might be, they're hyphenated.
Lenerd Skinnerd.

Tiffany Mason (21:17):
Then it sounds like you're calling him the nerd
.

Jay Franze (21:19):
I think that's what he's going for.
He's also got all sorts oflittle hash marks over it and
stuff Like it's a differentlanguage.
Oh, maybe he's going for.
He's also got all sorts of likelittle hash marks over and
stuff Like it's a differentlanguage.

Tiffany Mason (21:28):
Oh, maybe he's German.

Jay Franze (21:30):
I don't know, mike, I need more information from you
, buddy.
Yeah, we have questions we havequestions, we need you to
provide answers.
All right, heather.
Oh, I wish this, see, I wish Ihad one cool like this.

Tiffany Mason (21:44):
All right Heather , oh I wish this.

Jay Franze (21:45):
See, I wish I had one cool like this.
Heather says Alanis.

Tiffany Mason (21:47):
Morissette Jagged Little Pill.
Yeah, yeah, I had it, but Idon't remember buying it.
I don't remember it was like afirst, oh I bought it.
Color Me Bad came out in 1991.
And so I would have been like12.
All right, Not fair.

Jay Franze (22:05):
It's not fair.
You're making me seem olderthan you and I'm not.
If we do the math on thefingers, you're 10 years older
than me.
I don't understand this, Robert.
Now Robert's older than both ofus.
He says the Eagles Hotel,California.

Tiffany Mason (22:27):
Well, solid purchase though.

Jay Franze (22:28):
I remember Gary from elementary school.
We were at his house and wewould listen to the Eagles album
and we would call the phonenumber on the back of the album
asking to speak to the Eagles.
It was like their recordcompany or their publishers,
whatever we call it every day, just hoping we catch him there

(22:49):
one day.

Tiffany Mason (22:55):
Emily says, taylor Swift fearless solid
purchase, but she must be young, yeah.

Jay Franze (23:03):
Derek says Pearl Jam 10.
First purchase around 1992.

Tiffany Mason (23:12):
See, I bought Color Me Bad, but I should have
waited at Pearl Jam.
It would have been a much moreimpressive thing to say.

Jay Franze (23:20):
I'm doing math now trying to figure out how old the
people are.
It's become a game trying tofigure out how old these people
are versus their actual don't.

Tiffany Mason (23:27):
Don't do that because we've already
established even math on thespot all right, fine chloe.

Jay Franze (23:34):
Chloe says faith hill breathe, that's what tim
says to her too.
Faith breathe, breathe.

Tiffany Mason (23:45):
Just breathe.

Jay Franze (23:47):
Okay, good, that was better than the direction my
mind was going.

Tiffany Mason (23:51):
Yes.

Jay Franze (23:54):
I was thinking she needed a safe word.
Michelle says Miranda Lambert,crazy ex-girlfriend.

Tiffany Mason (24:00):
Okay, I like Miranda Lambert.

Jay Franze (24:29):

of that same chain.

Jay Franze (24:50):

Jay Franze (25:00):
Tiffany name one song off that album.

Tiffany Mason (25:04):
Chase sucks.
It's got to be more than afeeling.

Jay Franze (25:07):
Socks.
It's got to be More Than aFeeling.

Tiffany Mason (25:13):

You name a song off that one,Mark Long.

Mark Badolato (25:21):
Time Foreplay Don't Look Back.
Oh no, don't Look Back's thesecond album.

Jay Franze (25:33):
All right Makes senseony.
Anthony says eric church chief.
I don't know how old that is, Idon't think eric church has
been around all that long.
I don't think so either.
I think I worked with him whenhe first started, and when he
first started, bella was justborn, so she's 15.
And his son, we mentionedbefore, was born right after
Bella, and that's when Eric wasasking me questions.

(25:54):
I made him call the wifebecause I said I don't know the
answer to your questions.
Samantha says Keith Urban,Golden Road.
David says ACDC Back in Black.

Tiffany Mason (26:08):
They just came through Tampa and everybody's
like I'm going to the ACDCconcert.
I'm going to the ACDC concert.
No, they all just went toMetallica and ACDC is coming.

Jay Franze (26:20):
I love you so much.
Alright, let's see.
Kevin says Green Day, dookieMarcus says Brooks and Dunn
Brand new man.

Tiffany Mason (26:32):
Wait, did we ask Mark what was the first album
you bought, Mark?

Jay Franze (26:37):
Do you not remember this show at all?
I mean, we're in the moment.

Mark Badolato (26:40):
Jay mentioned the compilation called the Rock
Album.

Jay Franze (26:43):
K-Tel.

Mark Badolato (26:44):
That's how I learned a whole bunch of songs
like Sticks and Eddie Muddy, andthat was my first intro.

Tiffany Mason (26:51):
I didn't know that was his last name, jay.
You said M-Bottolotto and I waslike okay.

Jay Franze (26:59):
Nice, huh, you see that.

Tiffany Mason (27:01):
I wanted to get that right.

Jay Franze (27:02):
He pronounces it correctly.
Mark tested me when we firstmet.
He made me spell it, Did I?
That's probably the only thingI've ever spelled correctly in
my life only because I couldsound it out.

Mark Badolato (27:15):
All right, do it now without looking.

Jay Franze (27:17):
B-A-D-O-L-A-T-O.

Mark Badolato (27:25):
But I like that you're still sounding it out
almost 40 years later.
I have to.
Yes.

Jay Franze (27:30):
Right, I'm going to move on because I don't like you
guys.
Hannah says Leanne Rimes blue.

Tiffany Mason (27:39):
That's a good one .

Jay Franze (27:40):
Patricia says Patsy Cline greatest hits.
Ben says the Rolling rollingstones let it bleed.
Natalie says trisha yearwardhearts in armor.
Should we start censoring alexlincoln park hybrid theory?
That was a good album.

Tiffany Mason (27:56):
Erica says chris stapleton traveler that's the
first one that she bought.

Jay Franze (28:02):
That's what it says.
Erica, she's calling you a liar.

Tiffany Mason (28:06):
No, I'm thinking Erica's young.

Jay Franze (28:09):
Link is in the comments, if you want to join us
and argue.

Tiffany Mason (28:13):
I don't think she has to argue, but we need proof
.
How old are you, Erica?

Jay Franze (28:18):
She's 12.
And that's okay, we're beatingup on a 12-year-old.
All right, let's see here.
Fleetwood Mac, Kelsey Ballerini, Blink-182, Tim McGraw, Kid
Rock, the Band Perry, JasonAldean.

Tiffany Mason (28:36):
Care about any of those?
I care about all of them.
Okay, how about Mark Care aboutany of those?

Mark Badolato (28:41):
No, yeah, I'm kidding.
Yeah, of course.

Tiffany Mason (28:42):
I do.

Mark Badolato (28:43):
No, who cares?

Jay Franze (28:45):
All right, let's see .
Paul says Fleetwood Mac rumors.
Jasmine says Kelsey Bellarinithe first time.
Travis Bennett, Blink-182.
I'm sorry, Travis, I just saidyour last name.

Tiffany Mason (28:58):
Yep, yep, called him right out.

Jay Franze (29:00):
Travis Bennett.
He lives at 42 Main Street downby the old church.
Oh, I'm sorry, travis.
Anonymity is not yours, just donot put your last names in
there.
Don't trust me with a last name, I'm sorry.
Vanessa says Tim McGraw set thecircus down.

(29:24):
Is that the?
Name of one of his albums Setthe.

Tiffany Mason (29:28):
Circus Down by Tim.

Jay Franze (29:28):
McGraw, I don't know .

Tiffany Mason (29:31):
Set the Circus Down.

Jay Franze (29:32):
Set this Circus Down .
Lindsey says, the band Perry, the band Perry.

Tiffany Mason (29:39):
Yes, Set the Circus Down by Tim McGraw.

Jay Franze (29:41):
Okay, sean says Jason Aldean, my Kind of Party.

Tony Scott (29:48):
Hmm, okay, sean says Jason.

Tiffany Mason (29:49):
Aldean my kind of party.
I like all Jason Aldean music.

Jay Franze (29:53):
Sophia says Luke Bryan tailgates and tan lines.
Ronnie says Bon Jovi slipperywhen wet.
I saw Old Dominion, but at aquick glance it looked like old
man and it said old man, happyendings.
It's like what are we talkingabout here?

Tiffany Mason (30:15):
But apparently Freudian slip right.

Jay Franze (30:17):
Wendy says, old dominion happy endings.

Tiffany Mason (30:21):
Way to go, Wendy.

Jay Franze (30:22):
And then Mark different Mark says Leonard
Skinner second helping, notLenard-nard Skin-nard.
You weren't here for that, mark, sorry.
Apparently somebody saidLeonard Skinner and then told me
how to pronounce it.

Mark Badolato (30:40):
Well, the album was called Pronounced Leonard
Skinner.
That's one of the albums.

Jay Franze (30:44):
Is it?

Mark Badolato (30:45):
Yep.

Jay Franze (30:46):
Oh.

Tiffany Mason (30:46):
Mark.
Oh, wow, so's one of the albums, is it?
Yep, oh, mark Wow.
So, much light just shone.

Jay Franze (30:52):
Light dawns over Marblehead.
Alright, mark, look at you.
It says.

Tony Scott (30:58):
Mike.

Jay Franze (30:58):
Sorry, Mike, for all of the confusion earlier or
making fun of you or whatever wewere doing.
It says Leonard Skinner, pronounced Leonard Skinner.
Is that really the name oftheir album?

Tiffany Mason (31:13):
Mark, you're such a wealth of knowledge I'm glad
you're back, mark.

Jay Franze (31:18):
All right, where did I go?
There was Wendy, there was one.
I wanted to mention the lastone.
Let's end on.
Oh there, it is Brenda.
Brenda says Jody messina burn.
Why are we ending on jodymessina?
Miss tiffany, where is she from?

Tiffany Mason (31:40):
boston, and she's a redhead there, you go.

Jay Franze (31:45):
Oh, there's one after it that was for Tiffany.
Can we throw in a bonus?
Bonus bonus Jeff says Aerosmithtoys in the attic yes, oh,
that's the best one.

Tiffany Mason (32:04):
Yes, thank you, okay.
Yes, oh, that's the best one.
Yes, thank you, okay.
Well, black Sabbath willreunite for their final charity
concert, titled Back to theBeginning, at Villa Park in
Birmingham on July 5th.
This marks the firstperformance by the original
lineup in 20 years.
The event will featuresupporting acts like metallica

(32:27):
guns and roses tool and more.
The proceeds benefiting cureparkinson's birmingham
children's hospital and acornschildren hospice.
That is so sad.

Jay Franze (32:40):
I did not know there was a children's hospice oh no,
I didn't know that either, butno, that doesn't sound good at
all.

Tiffany Mason (32:46):
Oh, that's awful.
Nobody under the age of like 75should die.
Just all live happy.

Jay Franze (32:56):
Yes, let's all live forever.
There you go.

Tiffany Mason (32:58):
All live forever.

Jay Franze (33:00):
All right, mark.
What do you think the odds arethat that original lineup will
show up and actually perform onefull show from start to finish?

Mark Badolato (33:08):
Full show.
No, I think Ozzy's only goingto be able to do a couple of
songs, if that, because he justdoes not have the strength with
all the medical issues he'shaving.

Jay Franze (33:19):
I would think that Ozzy should show up on a throne.
He should sit there andeverybody else should get get up
, and it should basically be atribute.

Mark Badolato (33:30):
I think that's mostly what it's going to be.
I think he's going to sing acouple of songs of Sabbath, a
couple of songs of solo stuff, and the rest is going to be
tribute stuff.

Jay Franze (33:38):
Yeah, still want to be there.
Oh yeah, I'd want to go checkit out for sure, absolutely.
But I don't see that full bandplaying a full set.
No.

Tiffany Mason (33:49):
No, Okay, so you know.
Outsider question Every timethat it's not the original
people, it's called tribute.

Mark Badolato (34:01):
If it's a band that just plays their music,
that's not anything to do withthe band itself.
It's a tribute band.
Just what Jay's talking aboutis doing a tribute to Ozzy's
career because he's not able toperform anymore.

Tiffany Mason (34:15):
Right.
So what is the differencebetween a tribute band and a
cover band?
A cover band will do multipleartists and a tribute band will
stick to one lane.

Mark Badolato (34:24):
Generally yeah, okay.

Tiffany Mason (34:26):
Okay, okay, yeah, okay.

Jay Franze (34:28):
Like when we had Carried Away on the show.
They were carried under atribute band, but they were also
in a band called Hot Honey, which was a cover band.

Tiffany Mason (34:38):
Mm-hmm Okay.

Jay Franze (34:39):
And they were also in a Taylor Swift tribute band.
Oh, three bands, one group ofpeople, three different bands
Wow.

Tiffany Mason (34:51):
Oh yeah.

Mark Badolato (34:51):
Yeah, three different 80s bands.
I think Aerosmith.
Well, they're kind of a 70s,80s, 90s band.

Tony Scott (34:56):
Aerosmith Poison.

Mark Badolato (34:58):
Alice Cooper Def Leppard, I think Maybe one more.

Tiffany Mason (35:04):
That's fun, yeah, I guess it's like read your
audience, your audience, right, and then you just show up.
You know somebody maybe doesn'twant to hire carried away, but
they want to hire the taylorswift band yeah, and plus they
play um.

Jay Franze (35:20):
They're the house band for the theme park, so the
theme park's not going to wantto hear the same band all night
long got it right.

Tiffany Mason (35:29):
Well, also, when they're, like, you know, at
three o'clock, stop by thisstage, you know, to hear the
Taylor Swift band yeah right.
I don't know they might righthuge crowd work out amusement
park yeah that's Kings's islandin ohio, if anybody wants to go
check them out okay, so dropkickmurphy's will release their

(35:52):
13th album for the people onjuly 4th, featuring
collaborations with alabar, billy bragg the scratch and mary
the wallopers.
I don't know anything that Ijust read.

Jay Franze (36:07):
I will give you a dollar, because you already got
one tonight.
Where is this band from Boston?
There you go, all right.

Mark Badolato (36:21):
God I just earned a buck Mark tell me the best
thing about Dropkick Murphys.
You know I don't know a lot oftheir stuff other than the song
that they use in all thesoundtracks, like the Departed
and stuff like that, which is akicking song.
But I don't know much aboutthem other than that.

Jay Franze (36:40):
Yeah, big Irish band .
I don't know what's the name ofthat song.
I can hear it in my head, but Idon't know the name of name of
that song.
I can hear it in my head, but Idon't know the name of it.

Tiffany Mason (36:47):
Right alright how does it go?

Jay Franze (36:51):
I'm gonna find out.
While I find out, you feel freeto move on.

Tiffany Mason (36:54):
If you'd like drop kick murr hard to move
along when you're explainingeverything you're typing in.

Jay Franze (37:05):
I can't do two things at once.
I'm sorry I'm shipping up toBoston.
We'll go with.
Yes, tell us.

Mark Badolato (37:14):
I want to press play really bad.

Jay Franze (37:17):
All right, sorry, miss Tiffany, move on.

Tiffany Mason (37:21):
Okay, bush will headline Lakes Jam 2025 in
Brainerd, minnesota, on June26th, performing the Bush Light
Main Stage.
Reading this, I know exactlywhat Lake Jam's 2025 is because
I used to live in Minnesota.

Jay Franze (37:37):
There you go.
Huh Bush came out in what96-ish somewhere in that era.

Tiffany Mason (37:43):
Uh-huh, yes, that's exactly what I was
thinking.

Jay Franze (37:46):
Somewhere in the 90s right.

Mark Badolato (37:47):
Early 90s.
I was still working at adifferent music store when that
came out and I left there early95.

Jay Franze (37:54):
I was living in Orlando at the time.
There was a bar in OrlandoPhineas Fogg's, I think it was
that every Thursday had nickelbeer.
The reason I'm mentioning thatis Bush was the band that was
always played there.

Tiffany Mason (38:08):
All I can think is got a machine head.
Love that song.
Awesome, yeah, yeah.

Jay Franze (38:17):
What was the big hit ?
I mean, that was a big hit, butwhat was the first one?

Mark Badolato (38:24):
Everything Zen, that was the one.
Oh, it was the first hit offthere.

Tiffany Mason (38:28):
Okay.

Jay Franze (38:29):
Alright.

Mark Badolato (38:32):
That's a great album.

Jay Franze (38:33):
It was a good album.
It was good for Nickel Beers, and that was when Vaughn Ray
played around the corner andMatchbox 20 played across the
street from them.
So Thursday nights were a bigdeal in that area at that time.

Mark Badolato (38:47):
I'll say I remember jay introducing me to
matchbox 20 when they were stilla band tabitha's secret at the
time.

Jay Franze (38:56):
Yeah, and I met the drummer for tabitha's secret,
now matchbox 20.
He was working at a recordstore in orlando and he was
going to full sale at that time.

Tiffany Mason (39:08):
Yeah, okay.

Jay Franze (39:09):
We became friends because he saw they had a
cassette out at the time and Ihad just put out a CD called
Carousel and he was impressedthat not only was it a CD but it
had full color artwork and allthe stuff and he wanted to know
how we put it together.
So that's what sparked theconversation and we have not
remained friends ever since.

(39:30):
I don't know, we never reallytalked much, not for any reason,
just didn't really talk much.
But that was back when theywere tabbed with the secret and
then they went on to becomeMatchbox 20.
If you're new to the show, thisnext section is called
Recommendations.
What we do is we try to toss upa song that we think the other

(39:51):
will like.
This week Miss Tiffany had thesuggestion.
So, miss Tiffany, it's allyours.

Tiffany Mason (39:58):
I told you to go listen to Ghost of Us by Jolie.
She's an indie artist out of StAugustine, florida, and she
just has a voice that, like asiren, just calls me in, so I
shared her with you.

Jay Franze (40:14):
All right Voice.
Yes, it was kind of like asmooth voice, right, it was not.
When you say siren, I thinkhailstorm it was not like
hailstorm.
I think hailstorm it was notlike hailstorm.
Apparently, you found thatfunny.

Tiffany Mason (40:29):
Do you know what the sirens are?
Jay?

Jay Franze (40:32):
What do you mean?

Tiffany Mason (40:33):
From Greek mythology.

Jay Franze (40:34):
No.

Tiffany Mason (40:39):
Why would I know that?

Jay Franze (40:42):
So the sirens were, but you said it sounded like a
siren.

Mark Badolato (40:43):
Mark, when you hear it sound like a siren, what
do you think Well, in contextof music, loud and blaring.

Jay Franze (40:51):
Like a siren, like Lizzie Aile, all right.

Tony Scott (40:55):
Sorry, Miss.

Jay Franze (40:55):
Tiffany, go ahead, explain us some Greek mythology.
Is that what we're doing?

Tiffany Mason (40:59):
Greek mythology I don't really know enough to
come off educated exactly.
But I don't know if it was likea greek god or it was like a
nemesis of the greek gods, butbasically it was this thing in
the water and you weren'tsupposed to go towards it and if
you did, it would like engulfyou.
So if I'm explaining thisincorrectly, please go ahead and

(41:20):
send that to j at jfranzycom.
But to say like it's like thisirresistible.
You know, magnet, magnet, magnet, magnetic pull.
There we go magnetic, magneticpull towards whatever that is
and like try to resist it, butyou just can't.
And so that's what it meant tome, okay, but where's the?

(41:42):
siren part.
That was the name of themonster, or whatever.
They were the sirens.
And so you couldn't you, youwould have to like, cover your
ears and if you heard them, don't fire me.

Jay Franze (41:56):
Don't fire me for being smarter than you, jay, jay
I'm just gonna say, george, look that up for us, george,
fact check.
But wait, george is not here.
Oh, mercy me okay fine.

Tiffany Mason (42:13):
So that's what I meant.
So I think she kind of has likea yearning to her voice or like
a vulnerability or adesperation that you know is
sometimes, you know, desirable.
You know, sometimes you want tolike scream your brains out
with five finger death punch, and sometimes you, you want to
scream your brains out with fivefinger death punch, and

(42:34):
sometimes you just want to havea mellow moment.

Jay Franze (42:36):
Sometimes you want to hear the sirens of Lizzie
Hill?

Tiffany Mason (42:41):
No.

Jay Franze (42:42):
Mark, you're not backing me up at all tonight.

Tiffany Mason (42:45):
No, I love how incorrectly that's being used.

Jay Franze (42:49):
That's not incorrect .
That's the proper usage of thatterm in the rock world.
Mark am I wrong?
No, I would agree with that, Ihate both of you.
Where is?

Tiffany Mason (43:04):
George, I do need him.
I need backup.
Where is my George?

Jay Franze (43:08):
I don't know, Kenny, chime in.
I mean you're 67 now.
You might not remember, butchime in if you do.

Tony Scott (43:15):
Oh my gosh.

Jay Franze (43:17):
We abuse the crew every night, Mark, so it's all
right.

Mark Badolato (43:21):
I expect nothing less of you.

Jay Franze (43:22):
Yes, well, your Jolie also played piano.
I thought she did a good jobthere.
It's just her and her producer,so that's kind of cool.
And I want to take that a stepfurther.
Miss Tiffany, mr producer, manfrom up in New England and now
lives in your neck of the woodsoh, really interesting, her

(43:47):
husband said her husband I don'tknow, I don't know who her
producers.

Tiffany Mason (43:54):
I don't know who her, who her producer is who's
her husband?
I mean I could identify himthrough a photo what's he look
like?
He's a little bit shorter.
He kind of looks like a kid nohe has glasses their producer is
not, not that okay then no okay, but probably out of boston

(44:18):
lucio rubino.

Jay Franze (44:22):
Lucio rubino is the producer oh, wow he also played
um like the guitars and the bassand all that stuff.
But he, he produced our musicfor us.
But the reason I mentioned himis because he plays more of the
hard rock and music.
So he plays my style of musicbut produced your style of music

(44:43):
.

Tiffany Mason (44:45):
Oh, okay, I like it Very cool.

Jay Franze (44:49):
And I don't know her husband.
Sorry, but you know, if youwant to chime in jfranzycom not
live tonight, oh, we're liveLink's not live.

Tiffany Mason (45:02):
Okay, so what you got for me, throw it back.

Jay Franze (45:05):
Oh, wait, wait.
There's one more thing aboutthe song that I wanted to
mention on a dislike portion ofthe song, because overall I
think the song was good.
I think he did a good jobproducing, she did a good job
singing, but it's programmeddrums and I'm not the biggest
fan of programmed drums.

Tiffany Mason (45:23):
Okay.

Jay Franze (45:24):
That would be the only negative I would have.

Tiffany Mason (45:26):
Well, ever since being at that Forrest frank
concert where he showed allthose tracks, I was listening to
it through different ears forsure, and I was like, okay, how
many different things can I hearin this song?
And I was like what is synthand what is real?
I didn't do very good I wouldhave gotten f.
I would have gotten an F.

(45:47):
I would have gotten an FBecause, honestly, while I have
such an appreciation, I reallyjust want to think about the
story and I just want to singalong.

Jay Franze (45:58):
I'm really going to depress you on this next tune,
then.

Tiffany Mason (46:02):
Thanks for getting me so excited for it.

Jay Franze (46:05):
My recommendation for next week's tune is a song
called Bad News by a band calledno Apology, with no space, just
no apology.

Tiffany Mason (46:18):
And they're not sorry about it.
Sorry, not sorry.

Jay Franze (46:20):
They are not sorry.
No, they say that's bad news, but it's a band out of the
Ukraine, so the odds of youunderstanding the lyrics are
probably gonna be slim.

Tiffany Mason (46:34):
I mean they're in .
English are they being screamed?
Are they coming at me too fast?

Jay Franze (46:42):
they're not being screamed.
She's a.

Tiffany Mason (46:44):
It's a female fronted rock band of course it
is wait, wait, wait, wait.

Jay Franze (46:49):
Say it again it's a female fronted rock band.

Tiffany Mason (46:54):
Really, I would not expect that from you?

Jay Franze (46:57):
No, I mean yes, a female fronted rock band, and
yes, she is my type and yes, sheis hot.
My wife is always saying youlistening to your girl sing
again, yeah, yeah, I am.

Tiffany Mason (47:13):
Let a guy dream.
Let a guy dream.
Let a guy dream.

Jay Franze (47:14):
I wish she was here, I don't know, I'd go to the
ukraine right now just to seeher comedy legend jerry seinfeld
who jerry seinfeld is set toperform his only tex this
Saturday at Cynthia WoodsMitchell Pavilion in the

(47:35):
Woodlands, houston.

Tiffany Mason (47:37):
The event promises an evening of classic
Seinfeld humor, with ticketedseating under the pavilion fence
all right, mark, I'm big.
Oh, oh sorry, tiffany I wasjust gonna say I'm a big fan of
jerry seinfeld I didn't want youto go first yeah, well, you

(48:01):
said too.
So I think of this one stint ofhis, one of his skits, where
he's talking about the airlinepilot and he's like why is the
pilot always got to tell youwhat he's gonna do?
He's gonna take you up to 25000 feet, he is gonna cruise for
so long.

Jay Franze (48:18):
He's like, yeah, whatever, just get me there my
question to mr long hair waswhat is your thoughts of jerry
seinfeld?
Are you pro or against mrseinfeld?

Mark Badolato (48:34):
I am pro.
I love the show.
I've loved some of his olderspecials.
I did see him live about 10 or15 years ago and the show was
not very good, but I dogenerally like him.

Tiffany Mason (48:47):
I think we might have seen the same one, Mark.

Mark Badolato (48:51):
Yeah, I don't know if it was just In.

Tiffany Mason (48:52):
Peoria, illinois.
It wasn't like you were goingto go home and have stomach
aches Like a few chuckles.
It was funny-ish yeah.

Mark Badolato (49:01):
It might have just been an off-the-counter,
because he only spoke for 45, 50minutes.
It wasn't even an hour.
I don't think so.

Jay Franze (49:07):
I think his show was awesome, but I don't think it
was because of him.
You know, I think the cast iswhat made that show awesome,
including him, yeah, but I thinkit was the cast that made the
show awesome.

Tiffany Mason (49:19):
Why can I not think of the guy that would come
in, his neighbor, the crazy guy?
Yes, oh my gosh, kramer.
I think Kramer made that show, and Elaine, I mean, she was
pretty good too.

Jay Franze (49:31):
She was cute.

Tiffany Mason (49:34):
Is that right?
Yes, she was cute.

Jay Franze (49:36):
Mark, did you think Elaine was cute?
Yeah, she wasn't hot, but shewas cute.

Tiffany Mason (49:43):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (49:44):
She reminds me of Saturday Night Live chick.
What's her name?
Tina Fey, thank you.
There you go.
Yes, you're a little late, butthank you.

Tiffany Mason (49:54):
Hey, better late than never.

Jay Franze (49:56):
I reached for the button, but we're still on
George, so you are lucky.

Tiffany Mason (50:01):
Thank you, Jesus.

Jay Franze (50:04):
Yeah, she's Tina Fey hot.
I think they're both cute.
I think they're very similar intheir cuteness.

Tiffany Mason (50:10):
Yeah.
All I can think of when I thinkthey're both cute.
I think they're very similar intheir cuteness.
Yeah, all I can think of when Ithink of Elaine is where she's
like shut up and she pushes himhard.
Okay, me, sorry, wait a minute.
We're still on my segment, arewe though?
Okay, it's all my segment.
Okay.
Viral sensation Matt Rifcontinues his Stay Golden tour

(50:35):
across the US, bringing hisenergetic and relatable comedy
to his fans nationwide.

Jay Franze (50:41):
All right, Miss Tiffy, hold off now.
Hold off, Mark.
Opinions on Matt Reif.

Mark Badolato (50:47):
I've seen a couple of his specials on
Netflix.
One of them I thought was justokay and the one that he did
that was complete crowd work Ithought was outstanding.

Jay Franze (50:58):
He does do good crowd work, but it bothers me
when he does just crowd work.
I want to see some writing, butI saw him in concert, it was
okay.

Tiffany Mason (51:09):
In concert.

Jay Franze (51:11):
You still call it a concert, don't you, Mark yeah?

Mark Badolato (51:13):
Yeah, at a show In concert.

Tony Scott (51:17):
I would no.

Mark Badolato (51:20):
Or is our age just showing?
Is that the problem we used to?

Jay Franze (51:22):
call them concerts, I don't know, but anywho, yes,
matt's very good at his crowdwork.
I will give him that for sure.
And I like some of his writing, like the specials.
His specials were on YouTube.
I think it's a big deal nowthat he's got a Netflix special
coming out, because the firstone he did, he did it on his own

(51:42):
, he produced the whole thingand put it out on YouTube.
And then this time around he'sgot a Netflix one and it's a big
deal because it's Netflix.
He's actually making fun of thewhole thing, mark.

Mark Badolato (51:56):
Yes, what do you got going on this week Just work
.
Nothing exciting, nothingreally good, I don't know.

Tiffany Mason (52:03):
I think you had a cool Memorial Day that you were
looking forward to.
Last time we talked to you, howwas?

Mark Badolato (52:08):
your trip.
That was a blast.
We had about 20 of us or sojust basically having some beers
and laughing our asses off thewhole weekend.

Tiffany Mason (52:18):
Dreamy.

Mark Badolato (52:19):
Yeah, can't wait for a weekend like that.

Tiffany Mason (52:22):
Yeah, cool.

Jay Franze (52:23):
Fair enough, Miss Tiffany.
What do you got going on?

Tiffany Mason (52:27):
Well, I kind of want you to go first.

Jay Franze (52:31):
Is that how we're going to do this from now on?
Well, let me tell you what Ihave going on this week.

Tiffany Mason (52:39):
Jay, what do you have going on this week?

Jay Franze (52:41):
Well, thank you for asking.
Well, last week my children'shad a dance recital.
I say recital because it wasnot their actual competition,
but it was a dance recital wherethey get to perform what
they've been working on from thepast year and I thought it was
pretty cool because I got to seeboth my daughters, both of the

(53:03):
ones that are in there's threeof them, 26 daughters at this
point of them, 26 daughters atthis point, and the oldest two
get to do some dances, includingsome hip hop dances that I have
never seen them do, which Ithought was pretty cool,
including Lucy.
I didn't even know she wasdoing hip hop because she
doesn't do hip hop in thecompetitions.
So getting to see her do thehip hop, getting to see Bella do

(53:25):
it, I was very impressed byboth of them and may have lost
my man card that night.

Tiffany Mason (53:31):
I was going to say how many times did you cry?

Jay Franze (53:35):
Just little tears, maybe, watery eyes maybe.

Mark Badolato (53:39):
Yeah, too many cutting onions in the audience,
yeah.

Jay Franze (53:42):
Yeah, that's what it was.

Tiffany Mason (53:43):
Yeah, oh.

Jay Franze (53:45):
Want me to continue?
I got more.
Am I allowed?

Tony Scott (53:49):
to continue.

Tiffany Mason (53:52):
I mean, I don't want to jack up your segment
well, I just really did want totalk about it, but it looked
like we had one thing to talkabout first no, no, let me just
get the business out of the way.

Jay Franze (54:10):
This week, awaiting Abigail has been released.
If you would like to hearAwaiting, Abigail please go
ahead and check that out.
But this past Monday night Ialso got to talk with Ann
Kittredge, which was pretty cool.
She is from Broadway and shealso sings.

Tiffany Mason (54:29):
Did she sing any little ditties?
Did she share any of her voice?

Jay Franze (54:32):
She did not sing any ditties, no, but she is
definitely a talented woman.
She's been on Broadway foryears, she's toured around,
she's played some big venues, but she's also put together a
couple albums now that are verygood.
They're very theatrical so ifyou like that style.

(54:54):
Please check it out, even ifyou want to hear just some great
stories from a great performer.
If you did not catch it live onmonday, it will be released
this upcoming monday can't waitthere you go.

Tiffany Mason (55:08):
Yeah, I feel your excitement well, I can't be
excited about it yet because Iit's not available, so it's like
coming up.

Jay Franze (55:17):
That's why, and I it's supposed to be some
anticipation.
You're supposed to be ready forit well, I apologize.

Tiffany Mason (55:27):
You know, mr mason does not get excited about
things until it happens right, and so I feel like maybe he is
rubbing off on me and I can'tget excited until the episode is
live, and then I'll be justchomping at the bit, like, let
me listen to this episode.

Jay Franze (55:46):
I don't want to know why he's rubbing on you anyway,
but let's go ahead.
Let's move on, because he's myhusband.
Is he a Metallica fan?
No, mark's a Metallica fan.
You tell him I know somethingabout him.

Tiffany Mason (55:59):
Well, how about that?

Jay Franze (56:02):
Mark, do you like to have sex to Metallica.

Tiffany Mason (56:04):
No, stop, Jay.
Oh my gosh, Just throw it outthere.

Jay Franze (56:08):
Yeah, hi Internet, just throw it out there.
Yeah, hi internet, just tryingto see how much you guys have in
common.

Tiffany Mason (56:16):
Well, we don't have that in common, but
something that you and I have incommon, Jay, is Not sex to
Medallia.
No Is heading to CMA FestFanfare, which I am Fanfare To
fanfare is heading to CMA Fest.

Jay Franze (56:33):
Fanfare.

Tiffany Mason (56:34):
Which I am Fanfare To fanfare, were you not
part of that conversationearlier.

Jay Franze (56:38):
Mark, if you don't know, CMA Fest is a big festival
in downtown Nashville.
They have it once a year.
You get to go and you get tosee all these big performers
perform, but you also get to domeet and greets.
It used to be called Fanfare.
They've changed the name in thepast several years to CMA Fest.
I can't get over it.
I still want to call it Fanfare.
But nonetheless yes, missTiffany we are going to

(57:02):
Nashville.
I don't know what today is.
Is today Wednesday?
Yes, so I think I leave Friday.

Tiffany Mason (57:22):
Friday morning at the butt crack of dawn, so it
starts at like 10 o'clock, 10 am, to take off early tomorrow and
we are going to go spend sometime with my son and I get to
see his new baby and the rest ofhis family and I am really
super excited about that.
And then on Friday we will buzzdown and we are going to meet
up with you and Bella A I'msuper excited to meet you in

(57:45):
person and B Hannah is superexcited to meet Bella in person.
So it'll be fun to you know, share our passion of music and,
you know, cma Fest and the girlsand just all of that.
I'm really excited for all ofit.

Jay Franze (58:01):
Nice, mark.
We get to go down there and weget to talk to the PR firms that
we've been dealing with overthe past couple years and we get
to see not only get to talk tothem, but we get to see the
artists that they represent, anda lot of them have been on the
show, so we get to meet a lot ofthe artists that have been on
the show awesome.

Mark Badolato (58:21):
That's always a fun time, those kind of things
yeah, yeah, so should be a goodtime.

Tiffany Mason (58:29):
It is a brutal nine hours up to Parker, but I'm
guessing it's going to take usat least 10.
So by the time we stop.

Jay Franze (58:38):
By the time you stop and eat and all of the fun
stuff.

Tiffany Mason (58:43):
Yeah, so it'll be good.
I'm very excited and I got hima little Father's day gift which
I'm super excited about becauseit's he has been like a father
to your father.
I know, but it's he's not mrstate, I know but my baby's a

(59:03):
daddy and there was a shirt andI just thought it was so cute
and screamed that it was Parker, and so I'm going to bring that
to him just to celebrate hisfirst.
He has played the role of thedad to his girlfriend's son,
ollie, but now he has a babythat he and Mina have, and so I

(59:28):
don't know, it's his first fullblood baby or I don't.
You know what I'm trying to say.
So I don't want to discount therelationship he has with Ollie,
because it's definitely verysweet, but you know, his first
biological child.
That's what I'm trying to say.
There you go.

Jay Franze (59:44):
Well, yes, that does mean we both have road trips
coming up.
Yes, I'm excited and apparentlyI have a playlist now too road
trips coming up.

Tiffany Mason (59:54):
Yes, I didn't apparently have a playlist.
Now too, you're welcome.
Well, I thought it was kind oftimely when last week we did
question of the day and it waswhat song would you put on a
playlist?
And I got to thinking about itand I was like I don't know some
of these songs and some ofthese songs are really great.
So I was like make a playlist.
So I made a playlist and, um,it's on spotify and speaking of
cma fest, I thought that thiswas again timely.

(01:00:17):
Watching the news, and on foxand friends, one of their
anchors, steve ducey, has beenin nashville and he's been doing
these mystery morning walks.
So he goes for a morning walkand then he ends up meeting up
with some mystery celebrity.
You know they build it up likewho could it be going for a
morning walk with?
And so last week I had broughtup kid rocks, rock and rodeo

(01:00:40):
that he's been doing.
It was on may 16th and heperformed, I think, before.
Uh, but it's part of the pbrtour.
I think I'm saying that right,anyways, and I know, I know I
was going to say it Then I waslike irrelevant, don't say it.
But yes, I always think of PBR,pabst, blue Ribbon.

Jay Franze (01:01:00):
Okay, not a sponsor but I mean, spots are open,
george, oh wait, oh, georgedidn't show up for work today.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:13):
So they had him downtown Nashville and Steve was
.
You know they were building up.
Who was he going to meet upwith?
And then he met up with KidRock and they took a morning
walk and they ended up at hisrestaurant, his new one, the
Detroit Cowboy, and it lookedpretty cool in there.

Jay Franze (01:01:31):
He's got a restaurant in Nashville.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:33):
Mm.
Yep, he had just opened.
Yep, I don't know what theaddress is, but he just opened.
It's not 305 broadway, I knowthat that one's taken post has
got it, but but yes, so it wasinteresting though.
So he meets up with Kid Rockand I'm thinking like, oh my

(01:01:55):
gosh, this guy's everywherebecause of the you know what I
just said the sure, Kid Rock'srock and rodeo.
And then he also did oh theRock the Country Tour.
So that's what he was therekind of promoting was Rock the
Country Tour.
If you look at the promo for it, it says 10 small cities, 10

(01:02:15):
massive cities, whatever, 20dates, and it's a whole slew of
people that are on the tour andperforming in different cities.
And then he, for some reason,Steve, was like what is your
morning regiment?
I don't know if that's what Kidrock said he wanted to talk
about or what, but you know, kidrock is uh shoot, I can't

(01:02:36):
remember I did look it up howold he is 45, 50 um, and he's
older than that no, I thinkthat's.

Jay Franze (01:02:43):
I think that's you're depressing me these days.
Go ahead, continue.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:46):
I'll look at it, sorry okay so, but he's got a
six pack, and so steve wasasking him like 54 54.
Okay, yeah, yeah.
So this guy's got a six pack.
So apparently he fasts four tofive days a week until 1 pm and
then he eats.
But when he unlike the otherdays, he's like yeah, you know,

(01:03:07):
then if I want to order pizza onsunday, I can, and if I want to
have steak and eggs forbreakfast, I can.
So then that was the wholething that they talked about at
the restaurant was steak andeggs, which was kind of funny.
But it also got me thinking, like how early do these people
have to wake up to be on thesesegments?
Fox and friends is always doingthese diner segments, but when
I'm watching it it's like 6 am.

(01:03:29):
So how early did these peoplehave to get up?
Like 2 am, oh yeah, take ashower, you know everything, and
then show up.
You're assuming they shower?
Come on, I would if I was goingto be on TV, but it's also just
a slim chance, and who's to saythey're ever going to meet Kid
Rock?
But anyway, he kind of seems tobe popping up on my radar a lot

(01:03:52):
lately, and so I just thoughtit was funny that it was first
the rodeo and then he's goingfor the mystery walk and Steve
Doocy is down there for CMA Fest, and then they were talking
about CMA Fest and just all thethings and he just seemed to be
intertwined into all of them.

Mark Badolato (01:04:07):
Fair enough, Mark do you like Kid Rock?

Tiffany Mason (01:04:13):
not particularly, oh controversy is it a music
thing?
Or one time he shared somethingyou disagreed with?

Jay Franze (01:04:22):
yeah, it's more towards that they used to date
the same girl.

Mark Badolato (01:04:28):
I don't know I've just never been a fan of his
music in the last few years, nota big fan of him.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:36):
Okay.

Mark Badolato (01:04:36):
Fair enough.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:38):
I just keep thinking because I want to be a
cowboy baby.
That's a good song.

Jay Franze (01:04:44):
I've never met him, but everybody I know that has
met him said he's a nice guy.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:48):
He seemed pretty legit and pretty down to earth.
You know, like I was saying, they were talking about what he
has to do to condition himselfto be on stage.
And he was saying, like youknow, it's definitely more
challenging now.
I know we've talked about thatas celebrities age or singers
age.
And then, um, he was sayingbecause of his health regimen.
I mean, he had a whole list ofthings that he does, including a

(01:05:11):
cold plunge bath or whatever.

Jay Franze (01:05:14):
Everybody's doing it , but it's not supposed to be
good for you.
You can jack it up prettyeasily.

Tony Scott (01:05:20):
I don't know.

Jay Franze (01:05:21):
I'm not a doctor.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:22):
I'm not interested.

Jay Franze (01:05:23):
I'm not a doctor.
I don't play one in real life.
I'm an amateur gynecologist.
But that's a whole differentthing.
Oh my God, it came up.
Yesterday my wife had acolonoscopy.
I'm sure she doesn't want me totell anybody that, but she did.
She had a camera.
Nobody listens, so she had thatyesterday.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:45):
Pretend Jay is a siren and don't listen.

Jay Franze (01:05:49):
The doctor did not like me doctors in there.
A really good looking girl.
She's in there talking.
Uh, we're gonna go up there,we're gonna look for cancer,
we're gonna look for pops.
I said could you look for mycar keys?
And she did not find that funny.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:05):
Oh my gosh read the room, jay Jay.

Jay Franze (01:06:09):
I did.
The nurse laughed.
I thought it was wine, oh heywhatever.
Anyways this has turned prettyhard left.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:21):
Well, sometimes we are a medical show, though,
jay we are.

Jay Franze (01:06:25):
We're the furthest thing in the world from a
medical show, but we like toplay, so wrong Anyway, should we
end it Should we bring it home.
Let me take it home, please.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:37):
Yeah, yep, land this plane.

Jay Franze (01:06:38):
Well, we have done it.
We have blown past the top ofthe hour, which does mean we
have reached the end of the show.
If you've enjoyed this show, please tell a friend, and if you
have not, miss Tiffany.
