Ever wonder why certain country songs defy all odds and become massive hits? Jay and Tiffany take you behind the scenes of 14 unlikely country smashes that broke all the conventional rules - from The Band Perry's morbid masterpiece "If I Die Young" to the surprising revelation that a disco song about a man transforming into a duck once topped country radio charts!

The conversation flows naturally through breaking country music news, where Thomas Rhett celebrates selling out Boston's iconic Fenway Park - a meaningful milestone for the artist in the city that helped launch his career. Meanwhile, Lainey Wilson fights back tears as the Country Music Hall of Fame unveils an exhibit dedicated to her journey, and AI technology creates convincing fake wedding photos of her and her fiancé that fooled fans across social media.

The heart of the episode comes when listeners share the country songs that instantly transport them back to specific life moments. From "Amarillo by Morning" evoking early rodeo mornings with Dad to "Friends in Low Places" becoming a college party anthem, these musical time machines connect us across generations and experiences. Each story reveals how deeply country music weaves itself into the fabric of our most cherished memories.

Jay and Tiffany round out the show with current chart analysis, spotlighting rising star Bailey Zimmerman's climb up the charts with "Backup Plan" and newcomer Ella Langley claiming the #1 spot with "Weren't for the Wind." Their artist spotlight on Irene Kelley celebrates her understated production style and emotionally resonant vocals that have stood the test of time.

Tony Scott (00:05):
Welcome to The Jay Franze Show, a
behind-the-curtain look at theentertainment industry, with
insights you can't pay for andstories you've never heard.
Now here's your host, JayFrancie.

Jay Franze (00:33):
And we are coming at you live.

Tiffany Mason (00:35):
I am Jay Francie and with me tonight, the Lucy to
my Ricky, my beautiful co-host,Miss Tiffany Mason.
Good evening, Jay.

Jay Franze (00:47):
If you are new to the show, this is your source
for the latest news, reviews andinterviews.
So if you'd like to join in,comment or fire off any
questions, please head over tojayfranzicom.
All right, my friend, before weget started, we must talk about
the question of the day.
We must the question of the day, the question of the day.
What's the one country songthat instantly takes you back to

(01:10):
a moment in time in your life?
What is the one country songinstantly takes you back to a
moment in time in your life?
Not now, later.
And if you would like toparticipate too, please put your
comments in the comment section.
Well, as always, in my searchthrough the internet, I found an

(01:32):
article called the 14 unlikelycountry hits.
That broke all of the rules.

Tiffany Mason (01:41):
I can't wait to learn.

Jay Franze (01:42):
And, true to form, I did not read them ahead of time
.
Love it, I don't know if that'sgood or bad, but I like to be
surprised on the show, so it'snatural reactions from the two
of us.

Tiffany Mason (01:54):
I agree.

Jay Franze (01:54):
But it sounded like an interesting article.
So the 14 unlikely country hits.
That broke all of the rules.
So what do you think they meanby that?

Tiffany Mason (02:11):
You know, last week we talked about like
Gretchen Wilson, how she, youknow, had a little bit more edge
, or how we talked about MarenMorris and she kind of had a you
know, maybe I guess not reallyfolky, but a different way.
Or Sam Hunt, how he does likethe fast talking and then sings
a little bit too.
So I think things like that, ormaybe they used like an
instrument in a new way.

Jay Franze (02:29):
All right, Well, what they say here?
The typical ones typically havea catchy hook or a memorable
lyric and a few mentions of abeer, your mother and truck.

Tiffany Mason (02:41):
What about a dog?
I mean dog.

Jay Franze (02:43):
Yes, absolutely.
You can leave out man's bestfriend right, I'm with you, All
right, so let's go down thislist here.
What did they say?
14?
All right, I don't think it'sin any particular order, so I
don't think we need to worryabout numbers tonight.
So number one the band Perry.

(03:03):
If I Die Young.

Tiffany Mason (03:07):
Oh, okay, I could see that.

Jay Franze (03:11):
I think it fits their description.
Only because it had a bluegrassfeel to that song.
It wasn't a traditional countrysong, bluegrass country, same
family but a little different, and I think this had more of
that bluegrass feel to it.
It was early in their career.
I think it was only theirsecond single.

Tiffany Mason (03:29):
Yeah, Well, and I think the subject content If I
Die Young, Bury Me in Satin.
Yeah, you know, I mean it'skind of a morbid storyline.

Jay Franze (03:36):
Absolutely.

Tiffany Mason (03:38):
So there was no car, no mama, no dog and no beer
.
Fair enough.

Jay Franze (03:45):
There is a car in the next one, Luke Combs Fast
Car.

Tiffany Mason (03:52):
Okay, how did that break all the rules?
Because we made a classic songthat we already knew.

Jay Franze (03:59):
I mean, I would say pop song.
But even Tracy Chapman's a folksinger, which is more in the
country world that one getsthrown out.

Tiffany Mason (04:08):
That one's not valid Because it does talk about
a beer.
The dad's hung up on beer andthat's why he can't get out.
Mama went off and left him andthen she ends up marrying
somebody and he does the samething.
She had always hoped for better.
Does the same thing she hadalways hoped for better.
Yeah, does the same thing, sono.

Jay Franze (04:27):
One of those songs, too, that it was written in a
woman's perspective.
So did he sing it in thewoman's perspective, or did he
sing it in the male's?

Tiffany Mason (04:36):
perspective.
He sung it in the woman'sperspective and I do not like
that.
You and I had discussed thatabout the Megan Maroney song.
When I checked it out, I waslistening to last week's episode
and we had talked about who'syour Daddy and I did not enjoy
it because who's your Daddy?

Jay Franze (04:53):
Apparently, I'm your daddy.

Tiffany Mason (04:54):
I did not enjoy it.

Jay Franze (04:57):
All right.
Well, I do like the song FastCar I do like Tracy Chapman's
version Me too.
I don't necessarily mind hisversion.

Tiffany Mason (05:07):
I like his version too.
I like hers.

Jay Franze (05:09):
So you like it, even though he's singing it in the
woman's perspective.

Tiffany Mason (05:13):
That one I do Because I love the Tracy Chapman
so much.
I'm not thinking of him when Ihear it.
I'm thinking of Tracy Chapman.

Jay Franze (05:20):
Alright, cam Burning House.

Tiffany Mason (05:27):
Why do I know this song?
I can't think of how this songgoes.
All right, cam Burning House.
Why do I know this song?
I can't think of how this songgoes, but I know I like it.
But why?
Because it doesn't have beer, mama or truck.

Jay Franze (05:36):
I don't know.
I don't know.
Let's see if they say why, whatare their thoughts?
It says ballads released in thesummertime by female artists
aren't supposed to work incountry radio.
That seems like a very oddthing to say.
If you write a ballad as awoman, or if you perform a

(05:57):
ballad as a woman in the summer,it's not going to work.
You can only perform a balladin the fall with an ice cream in
your left hand.

Tiffany Mason (06:07):
Okay, well, that's weird criteria, but okay,
that's a really good song.
I can't think of how it goesright now, but I know I love it
all right, next shibuzi bar songoh, come on.
Of course, that one makes senseto me.
It has a lot of a poppy feel toit, but it does have beer in it
, which is part of the typicalcountry, but it's also by a
black man.

Jay Franze (06:26):
You're really hung up on that beer thing.

Tiffany Mason (06:28):
Well, I need to know what the criteria is, and
then I can say if I agree or not.
So it's like a hybrid.
That one's a hybrid.

Jay Franze (06:38):
I don't know.
To me it does not have atypical country feel.
It doesn't follow the typicalchord structure and arrangement
of a country song.
It's not sung in a typicalcountry song manner but it fits,
it works so it does I think itfits the criteria, then all
right, let's see what's oh next.

(06:58):
The dixie chicks, the, thechicks not ready to make nice oh
, I'm not ready to make nice.

Tiffany Mason (07:10):
Um, maybe because it's a female perspective in an
argument and she's not beingsubmissive because I feel like
women are somewhat submissive ina country music story or
presumed to be submissive andshe's like no, it's kind of like
terry clark's song.

Jay Franze (07:28):
Um, I just want to be mad for a while, you know it
talks about their controversyand all that stuff that happened
back when bush was president.

Tony Scott (07:41):
I don't think any of that should really matter.

Jay Franze (07:42):
But the biggest thing they say in here that is
relevant at all is that the song.
It was a surprise that it evenmade the top 40.

Tiffany Mason (07:50):
It wasn't expected to make the top 40, so
the fact that I could see thatactually but but how nice is it
like when, um, I know like, alot of times I've heard people
say that music will say whatthey, like a person, can't say,
and so maybe those songs gavesomebody a voice.
You know where somebody wantedto say I'm not ready to play

(08:10):
nice, I'm not ready to make upyet, and so you gravitate
towards songs that have somerelevance in your life or
whatever, and we've all been inan argument with our, you know,
significant others, so I thinkthat that's a valid reason why
it made it to the top of thecharts it says here that the
song came out in 2006, which waswhen that controversy happened

(08:30):
with Bush, while the country wasup in arms.

Jay Franze (08:34):
They're surprised that the song still made it to
the top 40 at all.

Tiffany Mason (08:38):
That makes sense too.

Jay Franze (08:39):
All right, fair enough.
Parmalee and Blanco Brown.

Tiffany Mason (08:46):
Well, I do not know this song.

Jay Franze (08:49):
I didn't even tell you the song yet.

Tiffany Mason (08:51):
I thought you said Blanco Brown.

Jay Franze (08:54):
Another artist, parmalee in Blanco, brown, just
the Way, don't fire me Just theWay.

Tiffany Mason (09:05):
Yeah, crown, just the way, don't fire me.

Jay Franze (09:06):
Just the way, yeah, it says here, parmalee hadn't
had a chart topping song in sixyears what was the song again?
Just the way I don't know, Iprobably know it, but so, just
the way, they hadn't had achart-topping song in six years,
so this song was not expectedto do well.

(09:27):
So the fact that it was a hitwas unexpected.

Tiffany Mason (09:31):
Okay, so that's why it was unlikely to be a
country hit Got it.

Jay Franze (09:38):
Okay, next Little Big Town Girl Crush.

Tiffany Mason (09:45):
That's a song, oh God.

Tony Scott (09:51):
This is such a good song, but I get it.

Tiffany Mason (09:52):
I mean, I think a lot of people thought it was
like an actual girl crush, yeah, yeah, but it wasn't a girl
crush.
That was the best part.
I love, oh I love.
It was such a good song, such agood song.
I remember working at texasroadhouse and it would come on
like when we weren't open yet.
It would be a song that wouldcome on while we were doing
opening shift things or whatever.
And, oh God, our servicemanager and myself we would just

(10:13):
sing our hearts out when thatsong would come on.
Apparently, it came out in 2014.
Yep, I remember very vividly.
And said it was a little risquefor country radio, which is
hysterical because it's not even.
She doesn't really have a crushon a girl it says that right

(10:34):
here too.

Jay Franze (10:34):
It says this is definitely not a song about
having a crush on another girl.
However, despite the risquenature of the song and the fact
that it can be taken that way,it is a little too risque for
country radio.

Tiffany Mason (10:49):
Well, conservatives.

Jay Franze (10:54):
Country is a little conservative.

Tiffany Mason (10:56):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (10:57):
Most of the time lately.

Tiffany Mason (10:59):
It hasn't been.

Jay Franze (11:00):
Bouncing back and forth.

Tiffany Mason (11:01):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (11:03):
All right, rick D's Disco Duck.
Really Was that considered acountry song?

Tony Scott (11:12):
Do you remember the song?

Tiffany Mason (11:14):
No.

Jay Franze (11:15):
This was more of a disco song.
It came out in 1976.
It does say 1976, a noveltydisco track.
It says some things in life arebeyond explanation.
The fact that this song, a 1976novelty disco track about a man
who transforms into a duck, went number one on country radio

(11:38):
.

Tiffany Mason (11:39):
Wow.

Jay Franze (11:41):
Yeah, if you heard the song, it's a disco song,
there's no doubt about it.
So it's odd that it went tonumber one on the country charts
.
Sure, but it's not a countrysong.

Tiffany Mason (11:50):
It broke all the rules.
It broke a lot of rules.
Ain't no beer in that song, that one fits Bobby Gentry.

Jay Franze (12:00):
Ode to Billy Joe, not Billy Joe.

Tony Scott (12:03):
Jones, just Billy.

Tiffany Mason (12:05):
Joe.

Jay Franze (12:07):
The spooky song is cryptic and dark.
Okay, I don't know the song.
Do you know the song?

Tiffany Mason (12:15):
I do not.

Jay Franze (12:16):
All right, we're both fired.
Mark Chestnut, there you go.
That's a name I haven't heardin a while.
I don't want to miss a thing.
That's a name I haven't heardin a while.

Tiffany Mason (12:26):
I don't want to miss a thing.
That's a great song.
Is it because it was just aremake?
Maybe?

Jay Franze (12:30):
It is yeah.

Tiffany Mason (12:32):
Is that why it was unlikely that it broke?

Jay Franze (12:34):
Let's see what they have to say.
One of country's biggest 90shit maker chooses to do a cover
and make it the title of hisalbum, and he picks Aerosmith.

Tony Scott (12:47):
Yep, it happened.

Tiffany Mason (12:53):
And it went to number one for four weeks.

Jay Franze (12:55):
I'd still take Aerosmith over that one any day.
But Well you're an Aerosmithfan.

Tony Scott (12:58):
Mm-hmm.

Jay Franze (12:59):
All right, here's my girl.
Taylor Swift all too well,Taylor's version.
We have to specify Taylor'sversion.
Taylor Swift all too well,Taylor's version, we have to
specify.

Tiffany Mason (13:05):
Taylor's version.

Jay Franze (13:06):
Taylor Swift all too well.

Tiffany Mason (13:09):
Because it was 10 minutes, probably Because she
took so long to release theadditional seven minutes.

Jay Franze (13:16):
It does say here it mentions being 10 minutes long.
Yeah, there's nothingsurprising about Taylor topping
the charts, but in 2021, herTaylor's version of all Too Well
hit number one on the Billboardcountry charts.
Despite the fact that it's 10minutes long, True Swifties will
listen.
Of course I've listened to it.

(13:38):
I mean, my daughter's been inmy car and always wants the
Taylor version and specifiesmake sure it's the 10 minute one
.

Tiffany Mason (13:45):
That's what I reviewed with Priscilla on the
podcast.
That's the one she picked.

Jay Franze (13:51):
Maddie and Tay Girl in a Country Song.

Tiffany Mason (13:55):
Okay, I don't know why it's surprising.

Jay Franze (13:57):
Seems like a normal song.
Seems pretty typical Part ofthe reason it was such a big
surprise is that it went tonumber one.
I guess they just weren'texpecting it to go to number one
.
Okay, we didn't think you weregoing to be good enough, so it's
a surprise.

Tiffany Mason (14:14):
Well, maybe you can't do a fast song in winter.
Was it released in winter?

Jay Franze (14:20):
Did you not have the ice cream in your left hand?
Carly Pierce Every Little Thing.

Tiffany Mason (14:29):
I remember every little thing.

Jay Franze (14:34):
It's a heartbreak ballad released in the peak of
summer.

Tiffany Mason (14:38):
Come on, Carly, don't you know the rules?
You?
Can't have that so it'shappened twice on this list.

Jay Franze (14:46):
So, therefore, is it really unusual?
Oh, I hate these lists.
It's funny, I mean, I love thelist, but yet hate them at the
same time.

Tiffany Mason (14:57):
Right.

Jay Franze (14:59):
All right, and ending our list, Lil Nas X
featuring Billy Ray Cyrus OldTown Road.

Tiffany Mason (15:07):
It was one of the first collabs, one of the first
.
Not one of the first, but oneof the most memorable, or you
know what I'm saying, because itwas like rap or not.

Jay Franze (15:17):
No.
I don't think any of us do.

Tiffany Mason (15:21):
I know what you're saying yes, I thought you
could read my mind.
Right now it's an awecollaboration.
It's not your tip mind.
Right now it's an oddcollaboration.

Jay Franze (15:26):
It's not Kenny and Dolly, correct, it's not Tim and
Faith.

Tiffany Mason (15:30):
It's not two people from the same genre,
right.

Jay Franze (15:33):
Yeah, that's all right.

Tiffany Mason (15:34):
Thank you.
Thank you for clarifying what Iwas thinking to our people.
Sorry, crew members, all rightwell it was an interesting list.
Well, do you want to hop overto country news and hear?

Jay Franze (15:50):
another interesting list.
I would like to hop over tocountry news.
I don't know if you're going tomake it interesting or not,
that is on you I always make itinteresting, jay all right,
let's.
Let's see if there's some truthto that.

Tiffany Mason (16:04):
Okay, well, I think you will find this very
interesting, because we'retalking about Thomas Rhett
selling out Fenway Park, sendinglove to all the Bostonians.
He played a sold-out crowd of35,000 people at Boston's iconic
Fenway Park, marking the momentwith an emotional message to
the city that helped launch hiscareer.

Jay Franze (16:26):
That is awesome.
You are right.
I like that one.
I do Not only because Boston isthe hometown suburb of Boston.
I don't want to offend thepeople from the Boston area, but
Boston is my hometown, but it'sFenway Park.

Tiffany Mason (16:42):
Right, it's a big deal.

Jay Franze (16:43):
It's, in my opinion and I'm biased the best baseball
park in the league.

Tiffany Mason (16:49):
Well, there you go.
Tom's Red sold it out.

Jay Franze (16:52):
Nice Good for him, buddy Good for him.

Tiffany Mason (16:56):
Okay, well, lainey Wilson getting a lot of
attention.
I know one of our people triedto say that she had an
underrated voice, but I'm prettysure she's getting plenty of
attention to say that she had anunderrated voice, but I'm
pretty sure she's getting plentyof attention.
I still don't understand thateither.
That was funny.
Her before Yellowstone daysthat was the stipulation that he
had put on that comment.

(17:17):
Okay, but she was moved totears as Country Music Hall of
Fame unveiled a full exhibitdedicated to her journey,
spotlighting how far she's comeand just how tough those nails
really are.

Jay Franze (17:27):
I would have liked to have seen that exhibit.
I mean, we were there, I knewabout it.
I may have made a slight effort.

Tiffany Mason (17:34):
I know I feel like that was such a huge miss
for us Next year.
It's got to go on the list.
It's got to go on the list.
There's a couple things thatare going on the list.
We can't say it was a miss forus.

Jay Franze (17:43):
We could have spin it to a more positive thing that
we wish we had had time to takein that one as well.

Tiffany Mason (17:48):
We don't miss, we don't fail.
It's true, it's true, we don't.

Jay Franze (17:52):
I mean when you're swinging home runs like us.
We may not win, but we don'tlose.

Tiffany Mason (17:55):
Okay, fair, because we did cover a lot of
ground.
So how are we supposed to havetime for that too?

Jay Franze (18:01):
I mean we were just busy.

Tiffany Mason (18:02):
We have to prioritize okay, I get it well.
Also, lenny wilson you know shehas this big fiance and I guess
ai is taking over social mediabecause it has all kinds of
pictures of them that theyalready are married.
So it says lenny wilson andfiance devlin hodges are the

(18:22):
latest to get caught in the AIcrossfire with fake wedding
photos circulating online.
So real, even grandma mightbelieve them.
I am so proud of myself.
When the Ozzy Osbourne news hit, or whatever that.

Jay Franze (18:40):
I didn't trust it.

Tiffany Mason (18:42):
No, that I didn't trust it.
Oh, I knew who it was.
Come on, I've met you, jay.
So, yes, I was very excitedthat I checked it, because I
normally just you know, believeeverything and then people are
like that's not true.
So I stopped doing that.
So I was really proud of myself.
But I am technically a grandma.

Tony Scott (19:08):
I'm sorry folks.

Jay Franze (19:08):
We had some technical difficulties.
We'll be back in a few minuteswith a new ghost.

Tiffany Mason (19:15):
Yes, so yeah.
I think that's funny, fairenough.

Jay Franze (19:19):
I don't know if you've seen any of the photos,
but you know, they look like her.
I mean I would have been ableto pick like her.

Tiffany Mason (19:25):
I mean I have not seen the photos pick him out,
but have you seen the ones whereai makes like, uh, you know,
like an animal turns into like aperson or something?
Or they have these ones whereit's like these tidal waves are
coming at cities or whatever.
There's some pretty good ones.
They must be getting agajillion views because you
can't even believe your eyes.
So you just watch it and watchit, and watch it, and watch it

(19:48):
and you're like this is stupid, what am I doing?

Jay Franze (19:51):
I see them and that obviously there's plenty that
you just look at and go.
That's not real Right, but I'llshow it to my wife because it
still looks really cool.

Tiffany Mason (19:59):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (20:06):
She'll just turn this term she goes.

Tiffany Mason (20:06):
You know that's ai stop it.
I'm like I wasn't telling youit wasn't.
It's impressive, it isimpressive, it is yeah well, now
you can make wedding photos Iknow they're doing where you can
say that you're interviewingsomebody famous now with like 11
labs or other ai voicetechnology.
So who should we have on theshow?
J, jay, we could have anybodyon the show now.

Jay Franze (20:27):
AI Trump visits us every week.
True, I'm sure he'll be heretonight.
It'll only take time.
Read a few more stories.
He'll be here sooner than youknow it.

Tiffany Mason (20:41):
Okay.
Well, let's see if he shows upwhen I'm talking about the band
Perry.
They are returning, but with anew look.
The band Perry is stepping backinto the spotlight, but don't
expect that exact trio youremember.
A new member has joined and theband is ready for a fresh
chapter.

Jay Franze (20:55):
Yeah, I heard about that, so I'm anxious to hear
what the new trio sounds like.

Tiffany Mason (21:03):
Now, as long as they do not release a ballad in
summer, they should be okay,right?

Jay Franze (21:11):
but yeah, she does the majority of the singing too,
so yeah, that's funny.

Tiffany Mason (21:18):
Well, should we move on to talk about Carrie
Underwood.

Jay Franze (21:21):
Yes, please.

Tiffany Mason (21:21):
Carrie Underwood Tell me all about her.
Carrie Underwood once channeledOzzy on the Howard Stern Show.
Carrie Underwood stunned rockand country fans alike when she
covered Ozzy Osbourne's Mama I'mComing Home, a powerful moment
that now hits even harderfollowing Ozzy's passing.
I could not believe it.

Jay Franze (21:40):
Yeah, let's take a moment of silence for Ozzy, and
it's over, can't?

Tiffany Mason (21:47):
be too silent for too long, because it's audio
it's Ozzy.
No, it's Ozzy, it's Ozzy.

Jay Franze (21:53):
But yes, first of all, let's not pass over the
fact that she's amazing singingrock songs.
It's awesome, but that is avery special song and Ozzy's
passing it.
It's fitting, but that is avery special song and ozzy's
passing it.
It's fitting that that's comingback up and they're making a
big deal out of the fact that hesang that song during the black
sabbath reunion because it'snot a black sabbath song.

(22:15):
It's an ozzy song yes, and hesang that song and they made it
made it as if he was singing itto his mother.
That has passed, that he'scoming home to her.

Tiffany Mason (22:26):
Oh, interesting.

Jay Franze (22:28):
The question is do you believe he passed or do you
believe he offed himself?
Because they were supposed togo to, I believe, switzerland,
and do assisted suicide.
Really, after that show, afterthe Black Sabbath reunion, they
were supposed to go straight toSwitzerland, which they did the

(22:50):
whole family, because that's oneof the only places you can do
legal assisted suicide.

Tiffany Mason (22:58):
Oh well, I got to think that it was intentional
then.

Jay Franze (23:02):
They talked about it and his wife talked about it.
So I mean, it appears as ifthat's what happened.
But what I'm curious about too,is she also talks about their
bond and their love and theirpromise to each other, and one
of those promises was if onegoes, the other goes.
So I don't know if this isgoing to include her or not.

Tiffany Mason (23:26):
Interesting.
Well, I did see Rolling Stonehad a whole thing like his top
20 songs or something, so I wasreading through that and it just
talked about how much he reallystruggled with his quote,
unquote demons and I mean Idon't know if he was ever of
right mind, like it just soundslike he was just one of those
troubled people he is the princeof darkness so I don't know.

(23:51):
That's sad, I did not know that.
But you know, if you're ready, you're ready.

Jay Franze (23:57):
Maybe I don't know he was in a lot of pain.

Tiffany Mason (24:01):
Oh, okay.

Jay Franze (24:02):
A lot of pain and he stopped all his pain meds
before that show so he could beas in tune with the audience as
possible that night.

Tiffany Mason (24:12):
Oh, interesting, so he was in massive pain during
that performance.
When I'm in a lot of pain, I'mlike super irritable.
So I'm proud of him for holdingit together for the sake of the
fans.

Jay Franze (24:24):
It's a sad thing, the whole thing's sad it is sad
like ozzy, or not sad?
I didn't realize just how wellloved he was because everybody,
not just people in the rockindustry but everybody in the
country industry, everybody is,you know, nodding to ozzy week.
So it's very impressive, prettycool.
Yeah, he did invent the bandBlack Sabbath was the start of

(24:49):
heavy metal.
So they created a genre.

Tiffany Mason (24:53):
Just warms your heart that everybody is coming
together and mourning that blackheart.

Jay Franze (24:59):
Yes, All right, let's move on.

Tiffany Mason (25:05):
Well, Jelly Roll says he's teaming up With Kevin
James.
I love Kevin James.
What is the show where he's theUPS delivery guy?

Jay Franze (25:14):
King of Queens.

Tiffany Mason (25:16):
Yes, I love him in that, and Paul Blart Mall Cop
.
Anyway, kevin James, a newcountry themed movie.

Jay Franze (25:23):
Paul Blart Mall Cop.

Tiffany Mason (25:25):
What did I say?

Jay Franze (25:25):
Blart Mall Cop Anyway.
Kevin James.
A new country-themed movie,paul.

Tiffany Mason (25:28):
Blart Mall Cop.
What did I?
Say Blart Blart.

Jay Franze (25:30):
Like Bart Blart Blart, paul Blart, I'm moving on
Kevin James reminds me of mybrother, and my brother reminds
me of Kevin James one of the two.

Tiffany Mason (25:38):
Ooh, I want to hang out with your brother.
So last sentence is you heardit right A little Nashville, a
little Hollywood and a lot ofheart.
I think that this is classicjelly roll.
Hey, like just morecollaboration.

Jay Franze (25:51):
Did you see he was the guest host on Jimmy Fallon?
No, he hosted the show that manwas doing everything.

Tiffany Mason (25:59):
He did a good job , I believe it.
I think he's just reallytalented, just, and he's lovable
, I think, because he's a thickguy and he's gone through all
the things he's gone through andpeople just have a heart for
him and then on top of it he'sjust nice to everybody, right.

Jay Franze (26:13):
so now I don't know what his life was like earlier
but I know what it's like nowyeah, yeah well, congratulations
to jelly roll for not onlydoing so great and being so
talented, but for overcomingyour demons as well and not
being an aussie whoa, whoa, whoatoo soon, too soon oh, hate

(26:38):
mail goes to tiffany atjfranzycom well, let's talk
about something more excitingyes so I know, last week we
talked about one of the stars Ithink it was john party going
out and his kids were sad thathe was leaving them.

Tiffany Mason (26:53):
And this time we're talking about jason aldean
and his sweet tour bus.
So jason aldean gave his kids afirst look at their new home
away from home, a decked outtour bus that had Memphis and
Navy.
His children lit up likeChristmas morning.
So I guess his wife shared on areal their reaction and what
that looked like.
So I can't wait to go checkthat out, but that'd be pretty

(27:16):
sweet.
When I was a little kid we wentcamping all the time but we had
like a I think I it's a 28-footcamper.
I think that sounds right to me.
Wasn't that the yacht?
Yes, yes, the yacht.
If you would have seen ourpontoon, oh God, that thing
looked like the Andy Griffithshow.

(27:38):
No, it was rough, yes, and sopeople would pull in these huge
rvs, you know, just luxuriousand like.
One time I remember this onekid had me sleep over and so you
know she and I were like in hergrandparents camper and, like
you know, king-size bed on bothend of the rv and all this other

(27:59):
stuff.
Just, I remember it being crazy, so I can only imagine that his
kids got like top of the line.
How cool.

Jay Franze (28:06):
Yeah, I saw pictures of it.
It's a really cool bus.
I mean, all tour buses arereally cool, and just whether or
not they're old or not.

Tony Scott (28:14):
Some of the older ones are still on the road and
they're a little rough.

Tiffany Mason (28:20):
I think it'd be cool.

Jay Franze (28:21):
Yeah.

Tiffany Mason (28:22):
Last week I was not sure if Gwen Stefani ever
had Blake Shelton's child.
Well, I am here this week toreport she in fact did.
She had a son with him and hisname is Zuma.
No, zuma, yeah, yes.

Jay Franze (28:43):
Her name is Zuma, reminds me of Zima I think Gwen
picked it out those Sprite-liketrinks.

Tiffany Mason (28:51):
Yeah, yes, it says Blake Shelton.
And Gwen Stefani's son, Zuma, didn't need any nudging.
He's naturally taken to countrymusic and he's already
performing on stage at Ol' Red.
So she did have a kid and he'sold performing on stage at Ol'
Red.
Oh, all right, so she did havea kid, and he's old enough to
sing.
That's Blake's bar.

Jay Franze (29:11):
Oh.

Tiffany Mason (29:12):
Ol' Red Got it.
That makes sense then.

Jay Franze (29:14):
It does make sense.
That's a great song.
I like that song a lot.
That's the song about thewarden's dog in prison.

Tiffany Mason (29:21):
Uh-huh, it's good .
Yeah, I do know what you'retalking about.
Bruce Springsteen surprisedfans at the Zach Bryan show.
So fans at the MetLife Stadium.
They got an unforgettablesurprise when the boss himself,
bruce Springsteen, walked out onstage for a once-in-a-lifetime
duet.

Jay Franze (29:42):
I mean how cool is that?
I'm just impressed that youdidn't add a T.

Tiffany Mason (29:46):
Well, because it's Zach.

Jay Franze (29:48):
If it was Luke, you'd add the T Right it's Luke
Bryant, so it's dependent I gotit All right, I don't know.
I've never been the biggestSpringsteen fan.
I mean, I like him but Iwouldn't go out of my way for
him.

Tiffany Mason (30:03):
But it would be cool to see him come out on
stage with somebody.

Jay Franze (30:06):
I was there to see If I was there to see.
Zach, it would be cool to seeBruce come out.

Tiffany Mason (30:13):
Yeah, I was going to say, if any celebrity that
wants to come out in the middleof another performance, that I'm
already there to see the personI want to see.
And now you're just going toput a cherry on the top, I'm in
my phone's, ready for a picture,nice.

Jay Franze (30:28):
My daughter's isn't.
It's full at all times and Ipay for the massive cloud
service like the unlimited cloudservice and her phone is always
full.
I'm like why is your phone full?
It doesn't make any sense.

Tiffany Mason (30:42):
They just take so many pictures.
I mean, I take a ton of crappictures too, so I go through
from time to time, just likewhile I'm watching TV or
something.
You know what I will say, though iPhone used to tell you
how many pictures you deleted, and there was nothing more
satisfying than when you selectit all and you delete it all and
it was like okay, all 237 fileshave been permanently deleted.

(31:03):
I'm like, oh my gosh, I justdeleted 237 pictures, but now
it's just like, okay, they'regone.
It's very unsatisfying.

Jay Franze (31:14):
I want to know what kind of space I just freed up on
my phone all right, moving on,what's the one country song that
instantly takes you back to amoment in your life?
What is the one country songthat instantly takes you back to
a moment in your life?

(31:34):
Would you like to start, orwould you like to think about it
for a little bit?

Tiffany Mason (31:38):
I'm going to think it through.
Okay, you think it through.
I always start, you do.

Jay Franze (31:42):
I always give you the option Do things at your
will.
I like it All right.
Oh, this is tough.
We're starting off with a toughone already.
Okay, all right, Jennifer.

Tiffany Mason (31:55):
That's not very tough.

Jay Franze (31:56):
That was tough for me.
That's your wife's name.
I don't think I've ever calledher Jennifer.
I always call her wife.
It was tough only because Icould not find her name through
this paragraph of writing.
But she says Amarillo bymorning, george Street, she says
.
It reminds her of early morningrodeos with her dad.

Tiffany Mason (32:21):
Oh cool, that sounds so cool.
That's a nice way to start.
It was hard to find.
Oh cool, that sounds so cool.

Jay Franze (32:24):
That's a nice way to start.
It was hard to find your name,Jennifer, but it was a nice way
to start.

Tiffany Mason (32:29):
That's awesome.
Who's going to top it?
That's so cool, that's socountry.

Jay Franze (32:37):
It's about your dad, that's so cool.
It is a country song.
I'm all for it, Jenniferiferdone are we, are we done.
I don't know.
This wasn't pick the best one,so this is just a one, so that's
a good way to start if it wasbest one, we'd probably be there
all right, lauren didn't golauren says strawberry wine dina

(33:02):
carter oh, that was on my list.
Love that one she says firstlove, first heartbreak.

Tiffany Mason (33:10):
Okay, it's a good song, I like it, I like I just
remember not knowing whatstrawberry wine was, and then I
found out, really, I mean, aboutboone's farms, boone's farm
wine, and then I thought that'swhat it was.
So it was like a curiositything for me, I guess.
And then you know, you actuallyhave it, and I don't know.

(33:31):
Coming right of passage it wasdelicious.

Jay Franze (33:35):
Okay.

Tiffany Mason (33:36):
I didn't.
Yeah, it was delicious.

Jay Franze (33:38):
I've never been a big wine drinker.

Tiffany Mason (33:42):
Well, it's not really wine.
It's like a wine cooler.
It's not.

Jay Franze (33:48):
I've never been a big wine cooler drinker either.
Never been a big drinkeroverall.
But if I were to drink, it'seither bourbon or beer.
You know, when I go to churchwhen I drink it strikes me odd
that the church has a full barin it, but that's okay.

Tiffany Mason (34:06):
Moving on Keeps you going back.

Jay Franze (34:08):
Mike.

Tiffany Mason (34:09):
Mike says it's the spirits.
It's the spirits.
The bar has all the spirits.

Jay Franze (34:14):
It does.
I like it, that works.

Tony Scott (34:18):
We're going to hell.

Jay Franze (34:19):
We're going to hell tonight, folks.
This may be the last show, Allright.
Mike says we're going to hell.
We're going to hell tonight,folks.
This may be the last show, Allright.
Mike says I'm with Tiffany.
Friends in low places, GarthBrooks.
Aw Played at every party incollege.

Tiffany Mason (34:35):
It is his anthem.
I love it.
I'd hang out with him.

Jay Franze (34:39):
Yeah, I like Mike.
He gives us an answer everyweek.

Tiffany Mason (34:43):
Oh nice.

Jay Franze (34:44):
Every week.
I don't think he's missed aweek.

Tiffany Mason (34:46):
Wow, thank you Mike.
That's a dedicated crew member.
Thank you, Mike.

Jay Franze (34:51):
Mike, you might have to be a supervisor.
Watch out.
It's one of those things whereyou do too good of a job, you
get promoted.
Oh Emily, emily says I crossedmy heart, george Strait.
Oh Emily, emily says I crossedmy heart, george Strait oh so
good, we're only four into thisand we've got two George Straits
.

Tony Scott (35:11):
Well, he was big in the 80s, 90s.

Jay Franze (35:13):
She says it was her wedding song and it makes her
cry every time.

Tiffany Mason (35:17):
Oh, my goodness, how sweet she's too sentimental
tonight.

Jay Franze (35:22):
I like it All right, let's see if we got something a
little lighter.
Ryan says Wagon Wheel, dariusRucker.
He says it's his road trip songwhen he goes out of town with
his best friends.

Tiffany Mason (35:36):
Cool.
I can see that Of coursethey're going to be sentimental
and of course they're going to.

Jay Franze (35:41):
I mean I know I get it.
It's the song that brings backmemories.

Tiffany Mason (35:45):
I know you're a little black or you want to hear
some just tragic story La la la.

Jay Franze (35:51):
But these are all songs people pick because they
have good memories with them.
I can't remember anything.
Actually, you know what Iremember.
A song I can tell you before Iforget it.
Yes, Actually you know what Iremember.

Tiffany Mason (36:03):
a song I can tell you before I forget it.

Jay Franze (36:04):
Yes, do Stone in Love by Journey.
My dad, that was the Journeysong my dad liked Out of all the
songs.
Oh, no wait, Sorry.

Tiffany Mason (36:16):
Who's crying now?
Oh?

Jay Franze (36:17):
Say I forgot, I forgot already.
I forgot the song I remembered.
He didn't pick like the bighits when we went to the concert
.

Tiffany Mason (36:29):
That was the song that he came back and
remembered.

Jay Franze (36:30):
Oh, that's funny, nice and dad's no longer here,
so that's a good memory.
See, it brings back a memory,I'll take it.

Tiffany Mason (36:38):
It's like a scent .

Jay Franze (36:39):
It's like a scent.
Oh, we get a new dog.
I can tell you some scents thathave been around the house
lately too.
But I won't.
So Sarah says, take me home.
Country roads Is it road orroads?
Is it plural?

Tiffany Mason (36:56):
Take me home country road.

Jay Franze (37:00):
I thought it was singular, I think it's one.
I think it's singular, she'sgot a plural, so should we even
bother continuing we?

Tiffany Mason (37:07):
can continue, but we will do house rules and it's
road.

Jay Franze (37:11):
Well, we don't know that for sure.
We could be wrong too.
It happens.
Well, I read you Google.
Sarah says take me home CountryRoad, john Denver.
It's literally my West Virginiachildhood song.
Is it singular Singular?
All right, sarah?
Sorry, we're not going tocontinue with you Moving on,
karen.
No, sarah says take me homeCountry Road, john Denver.

(37:35):
She says it was literally myWest Virginia childhood theme
song.

Tiffany Mason (37:41):
Aw, okay, it's cute.

Jay Franze (37:43):
My wife likes John Denver a lot.
I used to play a John Denversong in the band I was in.
We played Leaving on a JetPlane.

Tiffany Mason (37:56):
That's John Denver.

Jay Franze (37:58):
I thought so.
Wasn't it Stopping to GoogleLeaving on a jet?

Tony Scott (38:06):

I wasn't stopping to Google,leaving.

Jay Franze (38:09):
John Denver.

Tony Scott (38:10):
Why are you?

Jay Franze (38:11):
questioning me.

Tiffany Mason (38:13):
Because I just didn't.
I don't even know if I wasquestioning you, I just never
knew who sang it.

Jay Franze (38:16):
Yeah, John Denver.

Tiffany Mason (38:18):
But I like that.
I made you doubt yourself.

Jay Franze (38:20):
You did Doesn't take much.
We just discussed that.
I don't have a memory.
I forgot the memory that I hadas I was telling it to you.

Tiffany Mason (38:32):
Fair enough, sure enough.

Jay Franze (38:37):
Karen says it's your love to McGraw-Faith Hill
Reminds me of that one night Igot engaged.

Tony Scott (38:44):
Aww, I hope it, of that one night I got engaged.

Jay Franze (38:45):
Aww, I hope it was only one night, although I think
I asked my wife to marry melike five or six different times
.
Oh my gosh, I don't think sheever thought I was serious.

Tiffany Mason (39:00):
You're like no damn it, woman, do you want to
get hitched or not?

Jay Franze (39:10):
Oh, you're like no, damn it woman do you want to get

(40:18):
cousins Okay.

Tony Scott (40:20):

Tiffany Mason (40:32):
I'm getting ready to head back to Iowa, so I'm
starting to feel it coming out,I'm still bragging.

Jay Franze (40:38):
I'm still disappointed you didn't ask
Chloe.
I laugh because she's fromPhoenix.
I don't know if I should betelling people these things.

Tony Scott (40:51):
Chloe from Phoenix says something in the orange,
zach Bryan.

Jay Franze (40:56):
This was played on repeat during a tough move
across the country.
Yeah, to Phoenix.
I don't know, maybe he movedout of Phoenix, could be.
Either way, I moved to Phoenixat one point.
It was a rough, rough drive.
I drove from Boston to Phoenixin a Nissan 300ZX with T-tops.

(41:17):
It was a beautiful car.

Tiffany Mason (41:19):
That's a cool car .
It was a beautiful car.

Jay Franze (41:26):
Turbocharged the whole nine yards.
That that was also.
I was driving through probablyyour neck of the woods, where
it's all flat and open, and Iwas doing a good speed.
I was young and dumb and a coppulled up beside me and I'm like
oh god, I'm in trouble and he'swaving for me to go faster.
And I was like what are?
What are you talking about?
And I look in the rear viewmirror and there was a twister
right behind me.

Tony Scott (41:46):
Oh.

Tiffany Mason (41:46):
So I booked it like a bat out of hell.
You're like, I never gotpermission from a police officer
to speak.

Jay Franze (41:53):
I'm going to go faster.

Tiffany Mason (41:55):
Okay, officer.

Jay Franze (41:58):
Anyways, Chloe was talking about something in the
orange.
Zach Brown, I like that song alot.

Tiffany Mason (42:02):
I do too A lot.

Jay Franze (42:05):
A lot, Lisa.
Lisa says the House that BuiltMe, Miranda Lambert.

Tiffany Mason (42:11):
Makes me think of my childhood home.

Jay Franze (42:13):
Makes us all think of our childhood home.
Absolutely.
Here's the one for you.
James says I Want to GetTiffany Going Tennessee Whiskey,
chris Stapleton.

Tiffany Mason (42:29):
It's baby making music.
Yo, I mean, I don't know whatto tell ya, cause it's.

Jay Franze (42:35):
Apparently he doesn't need to say anything
else.

Tiffany Mason (42:37):
Like Tennessee whiskey.

Jay Franze (42:42):
Greg Says boot scootin bo Brooks and Dunn.

Tiffany Mason (42:46):
Oh yes.

Jay Franze (42:48):
That's a good song.
I like it.
Okay, we're going to end ithere.

Tiffany Mason (42:54):
Okay.

Jay Franze (42:55):
And it's another Brooks and Dunn song Neon Moon.

Tiffany Mason (43:00):
So, Dylan says Neon Moon.

Jay Franze (43:02):
It was always playing at the bar when I met my
wife.
It's a country dream rightthere, where you meet your wife
at a bar I'm sure it was ahockey talk and I'm sure it was
a bunch of two-stepping going onand I'm sure it was her idea
because, dylan, we all know youdidn't want to do it, but you
did it to make her happy Now.

(43:24):
You're married to her and shewants to go two-stepping every
Tuesday night and you don't wantto do it.
But you're stuck now for therest of your life.

Tiffany Mason (43:34):
Oh my gosh.
My husband used to dance withme and I'm like man.
You sold me a bill of rightsthat you can't make good on now.

Jay Franze (43:42):
I tell my wife all the time you know when we met
she was like oh, I love thatband.

Tiffany Mason (43:53):
I love that band?

Jay Franze (43:53):
No, you don't.
You don't love that band at all.
You lied to me.

Tiffany Mason (43:56):
I brought it back up to her again tonight at
dinner.
I'm like you lied to me, I'llnever forget.
Sean loves Pepsi and mygrandfather, who I just admire
my grandfather so much, and he'sa Coca-Cola man, I admire your
grandfather.
You know why?
Because his name is Gerald.

Jay Franze (44:14):
Is it Nice, a lot of Geralds coming up in my life.
I didn't know many Geralds everin my life and there's a lot of
them lately.

Tiffany Mason (44:23):
Coming out of the woodwork.
Yes, and so he loves coca-cola.
So I just always had coca-colagrowing up and I I tried to say
forever like, oh, I love Pepsi,oh, pepsi's so good.
And finally, I think literally10 years into our marriage, I
looked at him one day and I waslike you know what?
I'm a coke girl.

Jay Franze (44:41):
Yep, now I have been a Coke drinker my whole life.
That was, you know, my soda, the Coke products and stuff.
But now I've become a Pepsidrinker Not a sponsor, but could
be Pepsi and Diet.

Tiffany Mason (44:55):
Pepsi, but I feel like I've been seeing you
sipping on a Dr Pepper Diet.

Jay Franze (44:59):
Dr Pepper tonight Diet Dr Pepper, also not a
sponsor, but could be Reach outjfranzy at jfranzycom, we can
make it happen.
I have the technology.
All right enough about that, let's move on to the charts.
Who is in our top 10 this week?

Tiffany Mason (45:17):
my friend, Well, can I add to the conversation
about our childhood song here?
Oh, yeah, okay.
So now I have a couple, but Ithink what I'm going to finally
end on is Grandpa by the Judds, because I just remember so many
times looking at my sister inthe car and us singing that song

(45:39):
together and it's just, it wasalways on.
I remember sitting around thecampfire when we'd go camping
all the time and it would comeon and my dad in his deep voice
would be like Grandpa, if yousing along with it, I don't know
.
So that's what I had, but Iwould like to throw my others in
.

Jay Franze (45:56):
Somebody just covered that recently.

Tiffany Mason (45:59):
Uh-uh.

Jay Franze (46:00):
I don't remember who it was.
Go ahead, tell me your otherone, I'll look it up.

Tiffany Mason (46:04):
Okay, so I had three backups, but I just want
to say them because maybe it'llspur some memories for other
people.
So you and me going fishing inthe dark Love that one.
I love a rainy night andislands in the stream.

Jay Franze (46:22):
Island in the stream that is who you are, I think
that's dolly right, dolly, ohsnap who did you say sang
grandpa?

Tiffany Mason (46:28):
the judds yeah it's out right.

Jay Franze (46:30):
Finley F-I-N-L-E-Y.

Tiffany Mason (46:35):
F-E-N-L-E-Y Finley.
Okay, we're going to workbackwards Because these are in
order, that's the way you'resupposed to do it.

Jay Franze (46:47):
Start at number 10 and just don't throw in a death
dedication.
Have you heard that?
No, casey Kasem, that was a bigthing.
That was a viral moment, if anymoment was ever viral.
He was reading the countdownand they put in a death
dedication as he was coming outof a like a upbeat song or

(47:11):
something like that, and he losthis mind.
He went off on the producer andthe people saying you don't put
a death dedication after anupbeat song, and he just went
nuts.

Tiffany Mason (47:22):
That makes me think of Delilah.
Do you ever listen?

Tony Scott (47:24):
to it.

Tiffany Mason (47:25):
Delilah.
Okay, Someone will call in andthey'll be like I'm going
through a really hard time.
My husband's deployed and Imiss him so bad.
I just miss him, and she's likeall just.
I miss him so bad, I just misshim, and she's like all right,
I've got a song queued up justfor you and it's like Carrie

(47:45):
Underwood, Before you Cheat.
It doesn't match.
I'm always like this lady.
She doesn't even care, she justlistens to the song.

Jay Franze (47:52):
She's not picking the songs.
No, she's just playing the nextsong.
All right, sorry.

Tiffany Mason (47:59):
Number 10.
We gave her a Delilah Duadedication.
Now you know, cat's out of thebag.
It wasn't that special.
Okay, number 10.
Bailey Zimmerman backup planand I did check this one out
after we talked about it lastweek and I do love it.
You don't need a backup plan.

Jay Franze (48:17):
You just got to get back up.
I love that.

Tiffany Mason (48:18):
Yeah, that's one of my favorites right now.
Yes, I do like it.
This one was stuck in my headbefore we started talking about
the top 10 and then, when I sawit, I was like, yes, that's the
song that's stuck in my head.
Number nine thomas after all.

Jay Franze (48:29):
The bars are closed yeah, also a good one.
I would say, I like Backup Planbetter.
So if this is a top 10 list, Iwould rather see it the other
way around.

Tiffany Mason (48:40):
Okay, okay, I agree.
I would say I like the BaileyZimmerman song better.

Jay Franze (48:45):
Maybe Bailey is on the move, because wasn't he?
Out of the top 10 last week.
Mm-hmm, yes, yes, so maybe he'son the rise.
He's climbing the charts asthey say yes, he's on the rise.

Tiffany Mason (48:56):
He's climbing the charts as they say yes, yeah,
okay, okay.
Your favorite number, numeroocho.

Jay Franze (49:02):
Ocho.

Tiffany Mason (49:04):
Ocho, mucho, ocho .

Jay Franze (49:08):
I think I had some mucho for lunch today, okay.
Yes, luke Bryan is also one ofmy favorite artists, he comes in
at number eight with Country.
Song Came On.
I like that song.
It's going to help you out alittle bit.
Thank you, I was having amoment.

Tiffany Mason (49:24):
I couldn't recover fast enough and the
people need to know what numbereight was.

Jay Franze (49:28):
We need to know.
We bring it up.
We want to know.

Tiffany Mason (49:31):
Well, okay, so Country Song Came On.
Then we're going to go down tonumber seven, tyler Hubbard.

Jay Franze (49:40):
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Let's go back to Luke Bryan fora second.
Luke Bryan they were talkingabout him today on the radio
about how good he is and hownice he is and all this stuff.
But I thought it was nice tohear that the industry seems to
really like him and put him kindof not on a pedestal, but they
kind of look up to him.

Tiffany Mason (49:58):
So I thought that was nice for him.
I guess he was having fun withthe crowd at one of his
performances and talking aboutall the things about riley green
and how to imitate to be justlike riley green, because that's
what all the girls want rightnow he is a jokester, I'll give
it to him oh yeah, oh yeah.
I'd love to listen to any ofhis interviews because he was
funny yeah he's a nice guy, he'sa good old boy.

Jay Franze (50:17):
Yeah, all right, sorry, all right.
Number six Nate Smith.

Tiffany Mason (50:21):
Number seven, tyler Hubbard, the song Park.
I don't really know it.

Tony Scott (50:25):
Oh, so I kind of glazed over it.
That's why you moved over it.

Jay Franze (50:32):
Got it.
I still think backup planbelongs above that.
I would agree with that, Ithink it should be above all
those.

Tiffany Mason (50:39):
So again he's climbing the charts.

Jay Franze (50:41):
Let's just give him some time.
I would hope that Luke Bryan'salso climbing too, okay.

Tiffany Mason (50:45):
Okay, well, I mean Country Song came on.
I don't know.
I mean whatever I feel like, anything that Luke does, it's
going to hit top five.

Jay Franze (50:53):
Well, the question is, is he going up or down the
charts?
Maybe next week we can makenote of those things.
Yes, yes Add value to the crewmembers.

Tiffany Mason (51:03):
He's numero ocho.
This week there's a lot to see,all right.

Jay Franze (51:09):
That's good, because ucho gave me number two.
You have too much ucho forlunch, yikes.
You spend a lot of time On thetoilet.
Yikes, sorry.

Tony Scott (51:20):
Alright.

Tiffany Mason (51:21):
TMI Nate Smith is number six.
He's singing Fix what youdidn't break.
Oh, I love that song too.
I love that so much.
It's so good.
Her heart's broken and he'scoming along, or his heart's
broken and she's coming alongand she's fixing what she didn't
break.
Love that.

Jay Franze (51:36):
I love that too.
I think of that all the time.
I want to find a girl to comein and fix what my wife's done
to me.

Tony Scott (51:41):
Oh.

Jay Franze (51:44):
Yeah, I really like that song so much.
She's sleeping right now.
It's okay, we don't have to lether in on my plan.
Okay, okay, fair, fair enoughif anyone out there would like
to come fix the problems thatshe created?

Tiffany Mason (52:00):
jfrenzy at jfrenzycom and he's the problem.
So she's the reason, all right.
Number five josh ross single.
Again, I love this song so much, so so good.
I love this song.

Jay Franze (52:16):
I agree.

Tiffany Mason (52:17):
Got a king-size bed, just missing a queen.
Okay.
Number four is Corey Kent.
This Heart, you know.
I mean I listened to it.
Okay, I don't.
It did nothing for me.

Jay Franze (52:31):
It must have done something for somebody.
It was number one last week.

Tiffany Mason (52:34):
I know Hannah was like oh, because I said I want
to check out a couple of thesesongs.
So we were playing them on ourway to Orlando and I was not
impressed with this.
I was like let's go back to theBailey Zimmerman song.
I liked it better.
So you know.

Jay Franze (52:50):
I like it better as well, but something said for
Corey.

Tiffany Mason (52:55):
Yes, and then we also had to obligatory listen to
what is now number three, samhunk country house.
I just love this song, just anarrow near, near, near, near,
near please don't do that againso I really love that song.
Number two, mr morgan wallen.
Just in case, this song.

(53:16):
How many people have fallen inlove but they don't want
themselves to fall all the way?
Just in case their former lovehas unrequited feelings that
they just must reunite with them.
I just love it.
I feel like that's so commonfor people they never fall all
the way.
Just in case.

Jay Franze (53:36):
That doesn't seem like a song that morgan wallen
would sing no, he doesn't seemlike that type of guy.

Tiffany Mason (53:43):
It's like a mismatch to me I would agree,
his persona does not say yeahbut you know, it says I throw
tvs out of the hotel window itwas a chair, but yes, well, tvs
in the 70s.

Jay Franze (53:56):
Talk to Zeppelin, they did it right.

Tiffany Mason (53:59):
Oh, there you go.

Jay Franze (54:07):
I know he's kind of got a bad boy reputation.

Tiffany Mason (54:08):
So I can't imagine him letting a lady get
hung up on him.
He's got a porn stash he doesOkay, and coming in at number
one.

Jay Franze (54:17):
Do I have a button for that?

Tiffany Mason (54:18):
You do.

Jay Franze (54:19):
Everybody wait for it.
It's going to be there, it'sgoing to be really good.

Tiffany Mason (54:25):
Number one Ella Langley.
Weren't for the Wind.
Weren't for the Wind.

Jay Franze (54:32):
Look at that Two buttons tonight, folks, you
didn't just get one, you got two.

Tiffany Mason (54:37):
I didn't just get one, you got two.

Jay Franze (54:40):
I don't want anybody to think that that was real
applause.

Tiffany Mason (54:45):
Okay, so there you have it.
Folks Tune in next week to seehow this chart changes.

Jay Franze (54:52):
And it will change All right.
Well, let's move on.
Let's do a little bit of ahardest spotlight tonight.
We mentioned Irene Kelley lastweek, so you did not know who it
was.

Tony Scott (55:05):
So I brought her back up.

Jay Franze (55:06):
This is somebody I knew years and years ago.
She's got a ton of albums out,but I asked her to listen to a
song called A Little Bluer Thanthat.
It's an older song but I stillthink it holds up.
She was always more of thatfolky singer-songwriter, guitar,
vocal stuff, even though she'sgot full band productions.
It just had a more rootsy typefeel to me and I like that type

(55:32):
of stuff.
So let's start with what.
What your thoughts were whenyou heard the song.

Tiffany Mason (55:37):
Well, I loved her voice, nice and clear and clear
.
Clear and clear, um, it did.
It definitely had a ninetiesfeel for me Also.
I don't know.
I know I loved a two-step, butwhen I heard that song man, I
just wanted to stand up andtwo-step.

Jay Franze (55:58):
I really liked it.
I cannot picture youtwo-stepping.

Tiffany Mason (56:01):
Oh my gosh, I love two-stepping.

Jay Franze (56:04):
I told Lucy I'm going to take her two-stepping.
Laurie's Roadhouse has linedancing lessons that's open up
to all ages.
Yeah, I got to find somewherearound here because, you know,
working at Texas Roadhouse hasline dancing lessons that's open
up to all ages.

Tiffany Mason (56:14):
Yeah, I got to find somewhere around here
because, you know, working atTexas Roadhouse we did a ton of
line dances.
That's right.
And yeah, now you sent me that10 things you didn't know about
Texas Roadhouse and one of themwas that people had to come in
and learn the line dances andthey got paid for that time, and
that is really true.
So I knew I don't know themanymore, but I knew a ton of

(56:34):
line dances.
Yeah, but no, I just greatvoice, like I just said.
That's what just really sticksto me is just clear, just a
beautiful voice.
I loved it.
I mean, it started out you werelike listen to this, and I was
like okay, and so I startedlistening and I was like, okay,
I like it.
And then I was like, no, I lovethis.
And I was like I love this.
Like how many times I tell youthat it was really good?

(56:55):
You guys should go check it out.

Jay Franze (56:56):
She does have a beautiful voice.
It's very emotional.
It's got a almost like abittersweet feel to it.

Tiffany Mason (57:04):
Yes.

Jay Franze (57:05):
I think the production was understated.
It was a pretty raw productionlike not fully produced.

Tiffany Mason (57:14):
I think that's why her voice stands out so much
.
Do you think yeah, and she'salso a big songwriter.

Jay Franze (57:20):
She's written songs with Billy Yates oh wow.
I haven't talked to her in along time, but when I talked to
Billy Yates he mentioned her insome of the songs that he wrote,
so it might be a good time tobring her on and talk to her.

Tony Scott (57:36):
But her voice is amazing.

Jay Franze (57:38):
Like I said, the music, the production is very
good.
It's a really good production,especially for a production
that's as old as it is.
It still stands the test oftime.
If that was on the radio todayI would still think it would fit
in good If that was on theradio today.
I would still think it wouldfit in good, but I think,
between her voice and theproduction, it gave room for the
song to breathe and allowed theemotion to come through.

Tiffany Mason (58:01):
Agreed, yeah, yeah, I was impressed.

Jay Franze (58:04):
It's soft, it's reflective.
It's a good feel to me.
The hook is good.

Tiffany Mason (58:11):
Yeah, I like that hook is good.

Jay Franze (58:13):
Yeah, I like that I like it.

Tiffany Mason (58:14):
Yeah, I didn't get to dig into the words very
much, so, whoop, I'm not on thatscreen anymore.
I can't fire you I was going tofire you.
I have to revisit.

Jay Franze (58:24):
I won't fire you today.

Tiffany Mason (58:26):
Thank you, all right, I appreciate that.

Jay Franze (58:29):
She is an artist, but she's known for being a
songwriter.
She's a really good songwriter,very cool.
What do you got going?

Tiffany Mason (58:42):
on this week my friend Gosh I have such a dull
life this week.
Little Hannah Banana she's gone.
She's with a friend, she'shanging out in Orlando.
So there's that, the Link UpLounge.
We have a new episode out everyTuesday that helps people with
networking.
For swingers and nope.

Jay Franze (59:01):
I'll stop saying that one day.

Tiffany Mason (59:03):
Nope.
I like the idea of, you know, networking for swingers.
Well, it's not.
It's for business professionals, and how they can maximize
their time when they arenetworking, which can be, you
know, overwhelming orintimidating.

Jay Franze (59:23):
I'm saying swingers can be professionals that need
to network as well.

Tiffany Mason (59:28):
I am not discriminating.
Swingers can certainly network.

Jay Franze (59:32):
Can they join your group?

Tiffany Mason (59:34):
They can join our group, but it's just not only
for swingers.

Jay Franze (59:38):
Yeah, we do not discriminate.

Tiffany Mason (59:40):
We also do not point out specific demographics.

Jay Franze (59:45):
But what if they came to your group wanting to
network, to find other swingers?

Tiffany Mason (59:51):
They would not find anybody to network with.

Jay Franze (59:55):
You don't know, that You'd be surprised.

Tiffany Mason (59:57):
Yeah, it's a world I'm very unfamiliar with,
although there is a rumor thatdown here in Florida, in my neck
of the woods, if you go to thesecond aisle of Publix with a
pineapple upside down in yourshopping cart, that is the
symbol of the swinger.
The upside down pineapple.

Jay Franze (01:00:18):
Yeah, you see it on floor mats at houses or hanging
on the door.
Yeah, that is the known symbol, for sure.
I went to a really, really niceneighborhood in Nashville when
we took the kidstrick-or-treating through the
nice neighborhood in Nashvillewhen we took the kids
trick-or-treating through thenice neighborhood.

Tony Scott (01:00:34):
And there was a house or two with the
upside-down pineapple.

Jay Franze (01:00:39):
But Nashville had a swingers club.

Tiffany Mason (01:00:43):
Oh.

Jay Franze (01:00:44):
I've never been to it.

Tiffany Mason (01:00:45):
Like swing dancing.

Jay Franze (01:00:47):
Yeah, sure no.

Tiffany Mason (01:00:50):
So, speaking of, you know when you tell your
spouse that you're gonna be adancer, and then you guys get
married and then you don't danceanymore.
Um, yeah, um.
I bought a vhs set to learn howto swing dance and my husband
and I tried and we fought.

(01:01:11):
We did not learn how to dance.
It actually made us argue witheach other.
We dropped the option oflearning how to swing dance
because there was a move wherehe was supposed to be like
swinging around his back and wefought over how you were
supposed to do it.
So it was supposed to be thisbonding thing yeah my wife and I

(01:01:36):
.

Jay Franze (01:01:37):
We do not do activities to bond with each
other because we will kill eachother.
Okay, I mean she is a strong, strong woman when it comes to
that stuff.
She will not budge.
She wants to be right, shewants to win every game.
I mean we play chutes andladders with the kids and she

(01:01:57):
fights to win.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:58):
There's no mercy, no mercy, candyland, forget it.
My husband's Uncle Bob was likethat, so if anybody plays like
that, we call them Uncle Bob, mywife's Uncle Bob.
It sounds like it.

Jay Franze (01:02:14):
Well, let me tell you what I did this week.
Please I interviewed agentleman named Jason Chapin.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:22):
Yeah, and next time I expect a reminder so that
I will attend.
No, you had your reminder.
I am the boss of you.
I like that.
Say that again.

Jay Franze (01:02:29):
You had your reminder.
I am the boss of you.
I like that.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:33):
Say that again, let me clip that.
And I expect a reminder that Iam supposed to show up somewhere
.

Jay Franze (01:02:41):
So to be fair, if I was the boss of you, you should
be the one giving the reminders.

Tony Scott (01:02:46):
But nonetheless it was.

Jay Franze (01:02:48):
Monday night by myself, all by my onesies, I
interviewed Jason Chapin, who isHarry Chapin's son.
So that was very cool.
So bummed out.
He came on the show becausethere's a new documentary coming
out about his dad that he waspart of the production team and
they put this together.
It's going to be out inNovember.

(01:03:09):
We went through the whole thing, from everything about his dad
from the start to the finish ofhis career, but also the start
and finish of the documentaryand his role in the documentary
and how it came about and why itcame about, and what they hope
to get out of releasing thedocumentary.
They hope to shed light on thecharities and the organizations

(01:03:30):
that he would promote.
As an artist, he was big ondoing benefit shows and what I
didn't realize is he died veryyoung.
He died at 38 and his careerstarted very late.
So, as successful as he was.
It was a very short window oftime.
It was like in his early 30s hebecame successful and he passed

(01:03:51):
away in his late 30s.
So anyways, bruce Tarlecki fromthe High Mountain Breezes he's
been on the show a couple oftimes.
We've had an opportunity totalk to him as well.
He is the one who made theconnection to Jason Chapman,
because they're covering one ofHarry's songs.

Tony Scott (01:04:09):
Oh cool.

Jay Franze (01:04:10):
I don't know anything else.
Oh, you know what exciting Igot another exciting one for you
.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:15):
Oh, I know you do .

Jay Franze (01:04:16):
You know what I did last night?
Oh, uh-huh, you were goingsomewhere else.
I don't know where you weregoing.
But remember that thoughtbecause I want to know.
But last night I worked thePantera show.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:31):
Ah Fun.

Jay Franze (01:04:35):
There you go.
That was exciting.
Pantera, a rock band.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:40):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:04:42):
You know them, of course.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:43):
A band you might have heard of.

Jay Franze (01:04:46):
Anyways, it was interesting, it was fun, it was
a good night.
Yeah, the guy that I wasassigned to was very nice.
His wife was very nice.
His wife is following the show.
She's listening tonight.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:59):
Hello, oh heyo.

Jay Franze (01:05:01):
There you go.
Anyways, what did you think Iwas going to say?

Tiffany Mason (01:05:05):
Well, something very exciting in your life is
your daughter Bella gettingBowie.

Jay Franze (01:05:11):
Oh yes, bowie, service dog.
My daughter, yeah, she has beenin search of a service dog for
quite some time now and shefinally found one.
She went to Virginia with mywife to pick up such said
service dog.
She was nervous because itwasn't a guarantee that she was
going to get it.
They bring you there andintroduce you to the dog and

(01:05:34):
make sure that the dog iswilling to bond with you.
Oh, wow, if that dog doesn'ttake to you.
They will not give it to you.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:42):
Oh, interesting.
How do they know if the dog hasbonded with you?

Jay Franze (01:05:45):
I guess if it walks up to you and looks your face or
something.
But yeah, the dog has to be.
I'm learning an awful lot aboutthese dogs.
But the dog has to have acertain amount of training
ability, because being a servicedog is a step above your
typical average dog.
So they have to meet a certaintraining requirement, then it

(01:06:05):
has to like the person, then youhave to take it for a
specialized training, which isabout $20,000.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:15):
Whoa.

Jay Franze (01:06:17):
Now the dog dog was $5,000 just for the dog, that's
the most expensive pet ever.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:25):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (01:06:26):
So, anyways, the dog was about $5,000 and the
training is between $20,000 and$25,000.
Holy smokes so it's a littleless than we expected.
They told us it was going to be35.
I guess it is 35 once youinclude all of the incidentals.
You got to pay for all the vetfees and all that type of stuff
yeah, yeah buy all the supplies.

(01:06:47):
They have very specific list ofsupplies, but yes so bella got
a service dog.
If you choose to follow her onTikTok or the YouTube, she now
has a YouTube channel you canlearn all about her and the dog.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:01):
Very cool.
Well, welcome home, Bowie.

Jay Franze (01:07:04):
And then next week girls, they want to have fun.
Oh, Cindy Lauper, saying youcould have been here.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:14):
I know.

Jay Franze (01:07:15):
Rocky Rose.
Thank you for the tickets.
So she said she's going to comeback on the show too yay good
excited to have her back.
It's been a while she hasn'tbeen on the show for, I think
like three years it's time it'sbeen a little, while she's done
a lot in those three years.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:36):
Got a lot of catching up to do.

Jay Franze (01:07:37):
There you go.
All right, should we land it?

Tiffany Mason (01:07:41):
Let's land, it Should we crash it.
That's more accurate.

Jay Franze (01:07:47):
All right, folks.
Well, we have done it.
We've reached the top of thehour, which does mean we have
reached the end of the show.

You have any final words you'dlike to leave us with.

Tiffany Mason (01:08:32):
With the left engine on fire.

Jay Franze (01:08:36):

Tiffany Mason (01:08:38):
Well, okay, Bounced out.
