I can never answer thatquestion.

latest news, reviews andinterviews.

(01:07):
Slash live.
All right, my friend, I don'twant to steal your thunder
tonight, so I'm going to justflat out ask you do you have
Journey in your items for thenews tonight?
Jay Franze (01:18):
No sir.
Tiffany Mason (01:19):
Journey.
Journey has gone throughseveral stages in their time.
They've had several bandmembers from the 70s until now.
That band's been together for along time.
So they've been together sincethe 70s and their original band
had a drummer that's sincepassed away.
Then the drummer that everybodyknows from the band Journey is
(01:39):
a drummer named Steve Smith.
He was the one through all thebig hits the Escape album, the
Frontiers album and the Infinityalbum and so on, all the big
songs that you know like Don'tStop Believing.
But lately, for the pastseveral years probably a decade
or so at this point they've hada drummer named Dean Castronovo.
(02:02):
He just recently had an accidentwhile they were performing a
show in Houston.
So they were in the middle ofplaying their hit song, don't
Stop Believing, and he caught onfire.
And you find that humorous.
What the heck?
We know what direction the showis going to take tonight.
(02:23):
Yes, they were in the middle ofa gig, I mean a show in Houston
, and I don't know if youremember you don't remember,
never mind, they played in the80s.
They played a show in Houstonthat was recorded live and it
was Journey, live in Houston.
And it was one of the firstvideo programs that was released
(02:43):
on MTV.
Jay Franze (02:43):
I don't know if that
was released on MTV.
Oh, very cool.
Tiffany Mason (02:45):
I don't know if
it was the same venue, but
unfortunately there was a littlebit of a mishap and he caught
on fire.
Jay Franze (02:53):
I mean, was he just
like going so fast?
He was in the middle of playing.
Tiffany Mason (02:56):
Yeah, he was
friction, that's what it was.
Wow, there is no sympathy fromyou, my friend, no sympathy at
all there's no sympathy from you, my friend, no sympathy at all.
Jay Franze (03:07):
I mean, it was one
of those shows that really
brought sparks to the stage hatemail goes to tiffany at
jfranzycom oh my goodness, Idon't know what I would do if I
was at a concert and, all of asudden, the drummer I thought
you were going to say I don'tknow what I'd do if I caught on
(03:28):
fire.
Tiffany Mason (03:28):
No, you don't
know if you'd do it.
Do I get my money back?
I mean, how does this work?
Jay Franze (03:31):
You know what?
That's funny that you bringthat up, though, because I was
going to send you a video.
I did backstage production thisSunday for church.
I had like front and centerwatching the drummer and he was
really like I mean, they, Ididn't realize, I guess, how
hard they really do hit thedrums all the surfaces.
They really hit them very hard.
(03:52):
And it was very interesting toothat as the singer was singing
slower, he was sitting backthere keeping beat, you know,
like faster than the song wasactually going, because when he
had to do his part it had to beat that speed.
So that was just one of thosethings I guess I had never,
never thought of.
Tiffany Mason (04:10):
Never paid
attention to.
Dean is definitely a hardhitting drummer.
I mean, if you go back to SteveSmith, the drummer that we all
know he is known for playingjazz, he was never really a pop
or a rock style drummer and henever intended to be.
He joined Journey back whenthey were a progressive rock
(04:33):
band and they were playing morejazz style music and as things
became more and more pop, pop, rock style music, he stayed in
that band and he stayed for along time up until probably the
nineties when they had their youknow journey kind of.
When I say the guy went alittle left and had a their
divorce time and all that stuffwhere everybody got an ego and
(04:56):
decided to go in 16 differentdirections.
But Dean stepped in and becamethe man.
From that point forward he's ahard hitting drummer.
He's a rock drummer drummer.
He's a rock drummer, for sure.
And he's also got a good voice.
He sings harmonies and stuff.
He's a really, really a reallygood drummer.
Jay Franze (05:14):
How does a drummer
sing Right?
Because the microphone, I wouldthink, would pick up all of the
instruments all the instrumentsbut all the surfaces.
So how do they grab a vocalwhen all the drumming is going
on?
Tiffany Mason (05:29):
Well, it depends
on what type of microphone you
use, what polar pattern you setit to and if you have effects
like a compressor, a noise gate, those types of things, on the
vocal chain itself.
He was known for using aheadset with a microphone that
would come off the headset.
But a lot of drummers like PhilCollins would take a bar like
(05:50):
my mic here, and he just put itaway when he's playing drums and
pull it back to his face whenhe's ready to sing.
Jay Franze (05:56):
Oh, interesting,
that makes sense.
So they're not drumming andsinging at the same time.
Tiffany Mason (06:02):
Oh yeah, they are
.
Jay Franze (06:03):
Oh, they are, oh,
yeah, oh.
Tiffany Mason (06:05):
Yeah, phil
Collins did it.
This guy does it.
There's a lot of drummers Not alot, but there's a handful that
have done it well in pop songsthat you would know.
Jay Franze (06:14):
Ah, interesting.
Tiffany Mason (06:15):
But yeah, phil
Collins started off playing
drums.
He wasn't intended to be asinger and he just started to
sing and then went off on hisown as a solo artist.
But Dean, I don't think everintended to be a solo artist but
he does sing some of the songswith the band and he definitely
sings harmonies and stuff andhe's really really good at it.
(06:35):
But the fire it broke outunderneath the stage and he
himself had to be pulled off.
I mean, you know, not somethingyou want to be caught up in and
I hope he's okay.
I mean, I know we laugh about it, but that's just our nature,
just joking to get through ahard time, but.
I hope he's okay.
I mean, he's a good guy.
I did have an opportunity tomeet him and it was backstage
(06:59):
with Rascal Flatts, but I hadthe opportunity to meet him.
He is a nice guy and nobody, nobody, should ever feel the
pain of being caught on fire.
That just seems, seemsridiculous.
Jay Franze (07:11):
When I was a little
kid, we used to camp all the
time, and one of our familyreunions was at a campground and
one of my cousins took a stepbackwards and fell into the fire
pit.
Tiffany Mason (07:23):
Ooh.
Jay Franze (07:23):
Uh-huh.
Tiffany Mason (07:25):
Oh no.
Jay Franze (07:27):
Uh-huh.
Tiffany Mason (07:29):
All right, let's
move on.
George is in the house.
Hey George, how are you buddy?
Good to see you.
Hopefully no fire-relatedstories coming your way tonight.
Jay Franze (07:42):
Kenny is in the
house, only the fire and the
heat from our show Jay.
Yes, that's what it is.
Tiffany Mason (07:48):
That's what we're
doing here.
Oh, and thank you, Kenny.
You never stop making me laugh, but I really do appreciate you
and you.
I wouldn't want to be caught onfire.
I'm sure you don't want to becaught on fire.
I'm sure anybody who's everfelt any ounce of pain from a
flame would never want to becaught on fire.
Jay Franze (08:08):
No, I feel like
being a firefighter and fighting
in our.
Like the service members, they're all way more brave than
I.
Tiffany Mason (08:17):
George says he's
here with no burns.
That's a good thing, George.
Thank you.
We'll burn you, we'll burn you.
We'll burn you for sure, butit's not going to be over this.
Jay Franze (08:28):
No, Well, not
related but kind of related.
Have you had any update fromyour brothers about the fires in
California, how they've faredor how their neighborhoods are
doing or anything to that extent?
Tiffany Mason (08:41):
Yeah, the fires
made it right up to my brother's
neighborhood.
Jay Franze (08:44):
So I mean, mean
that's tough.
Tiffany Mason (08:45):
However, they not
only did they personally
survive and have no burns orissues on them or their property
.
So that's a good thing yeah,even my brother's work
properties are all good, oh, butthe fire was close, close
enough that they had to evacuatefor a period of time.
So yeah, and I feel like they'relike breaking out everywhere
right now where they normallydon't, but the fire was close,
close enough that they had toevacuate for a period of time,
(09:05):
yeah, and I feel like they'relike breaking out everywhere
right now where they normallydon't.
Jay Franze (09:09):
I had a friend
coming home from spring break,
from the Keys and the mainbridge that connects the Keys to
the main peninsula of Florida.
There were flames on the sidesof them, I think, as they were
getting ready to get on thebridge.
They got on the bridge, theygot to the other side and they
shut down the bridge because thefires.
They were one of the last carsto get across, but they showed
(09:30):
this black sky that theybasically drove through to get
home.
Yep, Mm-hmm.
And I think that I saw some upin Appalachians, but I can't
remember which state exactly, but there were fires up there
too, and I was like jeeperswhole world's catching on fire.
We didn't start the fire.
Tiffany Mason (09:50):
Oh you are brutal
.
You are brutal.
Yes, we worked the fires when Iwas up in California, up
outside of the San Franciscoarea.
We had to work the fires and Ipersonally was not working the
fires, but my team was.
So I wanted to go show supportand I brought water you know,
truckloads of water, not just acouple of bottles.
(10:10):
Truckload of water and.
I'm glad you clarified, I knowright, it just seems like I just
brought some water.
Jay Franze (10:18):
Douchebags showing
up with like a 12 pack.
Tiffany Mason (10:20):
Here you go, guys
.
See ya, I gotta get out of here.
It's hot, but we but we droveup and we had to get past the
police barricade.
And then we're driving up tothem and they're saying just go
this way.
And the flames are on the sideof the car, on both sides, and
it was so hot you could put thewindows up and so we could feel
(10:42):
the heat.
And we just got up there, dropped everything off, turned
around and left, but they had tostay there and you know not,
not something I would want tohave to do, yeah.
Jay Franze (10:50):
Good for them for
sure.
You want to hear what else isgoing on in this world.
This crazy world of ours.
Tiffany Mason (10:57):
I was just going
to say, well, why don't we get
off the fire talk and just jumpinto some news for tonight?
Jay Franze (11:03):
Okay, well, talk and
just jump into some news for
tonight.
Okay, well, on saint patty'sday, luke bryant was honored to
be inducted into luke who bryan, don't.
I do it every time justchecking.
Sorry, they know I said it Isaid it very clear, luke bryan.
He was inducted into the trailof trail.
(11:25):
Yeah, fame.
Sorry um rodeo houston becomingthe 11th artist to receive this
accolade.
And I thought I would mentionit because last time we talked
about the little walk of fame orwhatever in nashville.
Tiffany Mason (11:38):
So I thought you
were gonna say the little
mermaid, that could no, that'sthe little engine that could oh
was it a mermaid?
Is there a mermaid behind theengine?
I?
Jay Franze (11:49):
don't know no, I
don't know how the mermaid would
survive outside of water.
Jay it's a mermaid it has to bein water no they don't, because
then they get their legs Idon't know, I mean ariel only
got legs once.
She got her voice taken awayfrom her.
Tiffany Mason (12:04):
I didn't know,
ariel had legs, but yeah.
Jay Franze (12:08):
I love that movie
from the 80s.
I do know one, ariel, that wasa stripper Too early in the
night.
Tiffany Mason (12:14):
For a left side
Too early.
Jay Franze (12:16):
Come back over to
the right lane Jay.
Come back over.
Did you ever see that movieSplash?
I think with Tom Hanks.
Tiffany Mason (12:21):
Yes.
Jay Franze (12:30):
Yeah, love that
movie where she does get the
legs but then when she gets wet, they turns into a mermaid.
Love that.
Okay, morgan wallen, somebodyto love holds the number one
spot into spring 2025, andshibuzee has also been fighting
for that.
Okay, so they're toying withthat.
It's going to be named song ofthe year because it's in its
24th week of raining in thecharts.
Tiffany Mason (12:45):
Which is amazing.
Jay Franze (12:48):
And now we're
getting ready to hit summer, so
welcome back I don't want tohear.
Tiffany Mason (12:52):
It's first day of
spring.
Jay Franze (12:54):
Okay, it's the first
day of spring, so we're getting
ready for spring, so I thinkthat you know it's one of those
feel good songs that we'vetalked about before and it's
easy to keep listening to it.
Keep it on the playlist.
Tiffany Mason (13:05):
I never did
mention the question of the day,
but does he qualify as aone-hit wonder?
Jay Franze (13:11):
Speaking of which.
Tiffany Mason (13:13):
Yeah, question of
the day, if you want to put it
in the chat for us, is who'syour favorite one-hit wonder.
However, let's back to this.
Does Shibuze?
Jay Franze (13:22):
count as a one-hit
wonder so far, or?
Tiffany Mason (13:24):
is it only if he
stops at this point?
Jay Franze (13:28):
At this moment in
time, he's a one-hit wonder,
okay.
Tiffany Mason (13:32):
We're keeping our
eye on you buddy.
Jay Franze (13:34):
Yeah when he did
that I think there's a Pepsi
commercial that he does and thatPepsi commercial I was like
jeepers.
Even that sounds good.
So I think he has a good voicein general.
That I would expect.
Tiffany Mason (13:46):
So you said he's
doing a commercial.
Jay Franze (13:50):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (13:53):
For those
listening, I'm holding up a
Pepsi can, sorry.
Jay Franze (13:56):
He thinks he's funny
.
I'm laughing just to make himfeel better.
Looks aren't everything.
Continue.
That's what my dad always says, and I do too, so love that joke
.
Okay, l, I do too, so love thatjoke.
Okay, lainey Wilson, she isannouncing that she is going to
have a world tour 2025.
I wonder what a world tour, thetoll that that takes on you
because of time changes and youknow language barriers.
(14:19):
I never thought about that part.
But language barriers and likejust being away from home, just
all the things you know?
A global tour, how long do youspend in the other months?
Do you know what's kind ofcommon practice people?
Tiffany Mason (14:35):
typically do
three to six months.
Country artists don't.
I mean they've got it down.
They go out on weekends only, usually thursday, friday,
saturday.
So they travel on Wednesday andtravel on Sunday.
I mean they have it down.
And then even the musicians areable to capitalize on that
because, like Jeff King goes outwith Brooks and Dunn he's the
(14:56):
guitar player but he's a studiomusician, that's his normal gig,
but then on the weekends hegoes out with them.
So during the week he plays inthe studio and on the weekends
he goes out with them.
So during the week he plays inthe studio and on the weekends
he goes out on the road.
Jay Franze (15:06):
That's amazing.
Tiffany Mason (15:07):
It's a very cool
system, the way Nashville has it
put together, but rock artistsaren't like that.
They just go and go and go.
We talked about Circe the otherday.
They tour almost every day ofthe year.
They're playing over200-something shows per year.
Jay Franze (15:22):
Yeah, that's crazy,
but I mean, if you're enjoying
it and it's paying the bills.
Tiffany Mason (15:27):
I mean our friend
Rocky Rose.
Miss Allison Piccioni, yeah, she's been on the road with
Cyndi Lauper.
They're in the European legright now, but they've been on
the road for, I want to say, over a year, but I'm not 100%
positive.
Jay Franze (15:44):
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah, I don't know.
I just think that that would bevery exhausting.
Personally, I don't like reallybeing away from home for about
more than four or five days andthen I want to be back home
again.
We have taken like a week-longtrip, we've taken a 10-day long
trip and it's I don't.
I don't personally like it.
You know, what is the dumbestthing is I get tired of having
full meals, you, you know, because, like at your house, you
(16:05):
can have like this little mealhere and a small lunch or a
small breakfast or whatever.
Tiffany Mason (16:10):
I never get tired
of that, my friend.
Jay Franze (16:13):
Never I do, and I
only had one kid that would
split meals with me, and myhusband does not split meals, so
when I go out and we are onvacation I gotta own up to a
whole meal, and then, I don'tknow, it just seems like a big
waste to me, so not a fan thereyou go okay yep, yep in other
news.
Um, mr hardy and his wifewelcome their first child.
(16:36):
It's supposed to be inspiringnew music.
I watched wicked for the firsttime today it's on peacock, if
anybody hasn't caught it, andshe's giving birth to the green
woman or whatever.
And they're like it's, it's acurly haired, I see her nose and
then they're like it's a, it'sa.
And then they pull it out andthey all somebody says green and
(16:58):
I was like huh, I didn't seethat coming.
I guess I didn't really knowwhat the movie was about before
I started it.
Tiffany Mason (17:04):
I just knew some
of the songs.
Jay Franze (17:08):
You know how I roll
Che.
Tiffany Mason (17:09):
Yeah, I'm
starting to figure that out.
Jay Franze (17:11):
Yeah, okay, dan and
Che's Bigger House brings
feel-good vibes to the top 20.
This song is one I really love.
It's saying like love, don'tlive in bigger houses, so it's
talking about how people havethese bigger houses.
Yes.
Tiffany Mason (17:29):
Yes, clicked.
Jay Franze (17:30):
Yep, and I really
love that song because we were
getting ready to move inDecember and my daughter was
like I really want a two-storyhouse.
And I'm like you know, hannah, the bigger the house doesn't
necessarily it's not really thatbig of a deal, like well, think
of stairs.
Tiffany Mason (17:49):
Stairs is what's
killing my family.
Everybody complains about thestairs all the time.
You know, we get six, asix-story house, so I mean
people.
Jay Franze (17:53):
They complain about
the stairs we had to put in the
elevator and we're still waitingon the escalator stop oh, we've
got like five stairs that go upto a slightly elevated level.
Well, we have 12 stairs, Jay,so we are working extra hard in
the Mason house.
Tiffany Mason (18:12):
We're close,
we're close.
We've got six in each direction.
Jay Franze (18:16):
Okay, okay.
So you've got a turn in theresomewhere, got it?
Our poor dog, I don't know whatwe rest at the turn.
I don't know what was wrongwith our dog, but he was at the
top of the stairs and likewhining that he was like afraid
to come down, so I had to likecoax him down.
I'm like give him a little pushit's okay, I did try, but he
(18:37):
would, he resisted hard so youpushed your dog down no, no I
encouraged him lovingly.
And then he got to the last stepand his legs were just like
trembling.
He was terrified.
So I don't know what happenedwith that, but I get it.
I'm terrified of the stairs too, and they say that that's one
(18:58):
of the like top training.
What's that?
Tiffany Mason (19:02):
You're terrified
of the stairs.
Jay Franze (19:04):
The dog was.
I'm not terrified.
Tiffany Mason (19:06):
You just said you
were too.
Jay Franze (19:09):
Oh well, in the
sense that you and your family
are terrified of them orcomplaining about them, in the
same respect I'm not actuallyscared of them.
Tiffany Mason (19:18):
All right.
Jay Franze (19:20):
So we lived in this
model of a house before, and
when we lived in it before, Iwas like okay, every day I'm
going to do like 10 reps of thestairs and I was like this is
stupid, what am I doing?
Exercise it didn't last long, but it's supposed to be.
One of the top ways to train isto do stairs.
Anyway, I had read thatsomewhere, probably in a podcast
.
I heard it.
All right, let's see what elseis going on here.
(19:50):
Josiah, queen, queen, and youprobably, I'm guessing you don't
know this name he's a christianartist.
I do not know the name, butokay.
So he he has a sold out concertbut of a um self-released debut
album and he's got a real folkysound to his voice.
I can't remember the guy, oh,Noah Cahan and Benson Boone A
very similar voice.
So I personally really likethat folky sound and so it's
(20:13):
somebody I've got an eye on.
I appreciate his music quite abit so I'm excited to check out.
And if they say sold out, Imean usually there's still
tickets.
Hey, what do they consider soldout?
Really?
Is it like 80% of every venue,90% of every venue?
(20:33):
I think it's more like the venuesells out, but the label and
everybody still is holding agroup of tickets for themselves.
Tiffany Mason (20:41):
So, yes, you have
scalpers that purchase tickets
that are going to resell them, but everybody in the band is
going to get a block of ticketsfor themselves.
So, yes, you have scalpers thatpurchase tickets that are going
to resell them but everybody inthe band is going to get a
block of tickets for themselves.
The label's going to have ablock of tickets from themselves
, so they'll be giving things tothe radio stations and things
like that for promotionalpurposes.
The more you can say, hey, thisshow is sold out.
However, we have a handful oftickets here we're going to give
(21:02):
away today.
It's just building hype andstuff for everybody.
Jay Franze (21:07):
Yeah, but does it
mean that it's actually sold out
, like I can't get tickets nowfor real?
Tiffany Mason (21:10):
It depends, like
some of the venues, what they'll
do is they'll close, like theupper deck of an arena, so they
can advertise that it's sold out.
But it's really not sold outbecause you still have half the
arena.
So, oh, if all of a sudden itstarts going like gangbusters.
Hey, we went ahead and openedthe other half of the arena
because it was such in demandgot it okay well in reality.
(21:32):
If you're good enough to sellout the arena in the first place
, that's truly what sold out isgot.
Jay Franze (21:37):
It makes sense to me
, okay, jason aldean.
He is headlining Crash my PlayaFestival in Mexico, so if
you're heading down, make sureto check out tickets and see if
you can crash his party, crashhis concert.
Tiffany Mason (21:55):
Have our tickets
for that come in yet.
Jay Franze (21:58):
I don't think so.
I think they're in the mail forsure.
Tiffany Mason (22:00):
Is that what it
is?
Jay Franze (22:01):
When are we heading
down there again?
Tiffany Mason (22:03):
I'm just trying
to figure it all out, trying to
put the plans together now.
Jay Franze (22:07):
Yeah, I like it All
right.
Green Day it's a punk rocklegend band are set to top the
bill.
Top the bills, welcome to theRockville and Download Festival,
showcasing the enduringpopularity.
Green Day is one of my favoritehigh school bands and I think
(22:29):
I've shared on here before thatwhen I get really fired up I
have to play Basket Case reallyloud.
And what were Hannah and I doing?
We were driving down to StAugustine and I was getting like
like just ripping mad attraffic and I can't remember it
was.
It was justified, whatever itwas, I can't remember.
And I said Hannah, when we getdown there, I, when this
(22:51):
lightens up or whatever, I justhave to play Green Day.
And so, as soon as I think Imust have been on, oh, I was
listening to a um, a call, that's what it was.
I was on a virtual call and thecall was just like rubbing me
the wrong way and I had to getoff and I was getting so annoyed
and we just blared it just asloud as possible and I was like
what do you think, anna?
And she was like digging yournuts but I always feel better
(23:12):
afterwards.
Music just kind of helps you to,like you know, release.
Tiffany Mason (23:16):
It's kind of like
your burn mf green day known
for being a punk band, but theirbig hit album was mixed by
Chris Lord-Alge, who is one ofthe most famous mix engineers in
the world.
He's been working for decadesmixing hit after hit after hit.
(23:36):
He's very good at makingsomething sound good on the
radio.
He might not be the mosttalented mix engineer but he's
definitely one of the morepopular ones because of how good
he can make something sound onthe radio.
You get Bob Claremountain oreven Bob Bullock and some of the
others that I would say arebetter mix engineers in general,
(23:58):
but he did the Green Day album.
Engineers in general, but hedid the Green Day album and it
sounds more polished than yourtypical punk album would, but it
is so good and sounds so goodlike musicianship as well as the
quality of the album.
I think people look past thatbecause they did not get a bad
(24:19):
rap for going too commercial orat least I've never, never heard
anything of it yeah, yeah, well, and I know, like everybody, it
was very popular.
Jay Franze (24:28):
Nobody was saying,
ah, turn that off, it's you know
pretty boy grunge music orpretty boy punk music, whatever.
So I know it was really popularand, yeah, nobody had a problem
with it.
Tiffany Mason (24:38):
I mean it's won
all sorts of awards, fairly
certain.
Chris won a Grammy for that.
Oh interesting, probablyseveral.
Jay Franze (24:45):
Now you said that
mixing for the radio versus
mixing for an album.
Tiffany Mason (24:51):
Yes, okay, now
he's mixing for both of them,
but he has a way of mixingsomething, so it sounds good
when it's played on the radio.
Jay Franze (25:01):
Got it.
Tiffany Mason (25:02):
I mean, things
that are on the radio are
heavily compressed, so the audiois just squashed, and usually
when you squash something somuch and then the radio squashes
it, you know, several moretimes, it kind of loses its life
.
The dynamics of the song aretaken out of it, and he has a
way of making stuff sound reallygood when it's like that.
Jay Franze (25:25):
Got it.
How much does it break yourheart when you spend so much
time mixing something and thenyou hear it on the radio and
you're like it's squashed right.
Tiffany Mason (25:34):
Yeah yeah, the
Bobs Bob Bullock and Bob
Claremountain.
They are both known for big, wide open mixes where you put on
a pair of headphones or you sitin a studio that has really
nice monitoring system and youcan hear little things twinkle
over here and something backhere and it's like you just hear
(25:55):
an atmosphere and everythingjust sounds like you're part of
the music.
And then you turn on Chris LordAlgae Mix, or even his brother
Tom Lord Algae.
It's just like in your face atall times.
Jay Franze (26:07):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (26:08):
Like he's done
all the Carrie Underwood stuff.
I mean he's done all the bigstuff and it's just always right
there at all times.
There's no life to it.
And I think that's the way itis these days, is that everybody
wants it right there, just likeeverybody wants video to be
short and sweet.
Everybody wants music to beshort, sweet and in your face
(26:28):
and go away, where the days ofPink Floyd or something where
you had big audioscapes andsounds that are just floating
around, those days seem to beover.
Jay Franze (26:40):
I'll tell you what.
I don't think people do enough,and maybe there's a reason
behind it, but I really freakinglove when you're driving and
the song comes on and all of asudden you hear it a little bit
on the left and then you hear ita little bit on the right.
I love when it bounces back andforth where it's not equal
distribution that's one of myfavorites.
Where it's kind of like I don'tknow, pardon my French.
(27:03):
Where it's kind of like I don'tknow, pardon my french.
It's like a mind you're likewhere, where's it coming from?
It has some movement to it.
Tiffany Mason (27:08):
Yeah, yeah, I
like that yeah, I like things
like that and that's one of thethings that I do when I mix
songs.
I want to.
I want things to have someexcitement to them.
I don't want them to just be inyour face, so I want them, if
they warrant something, like thebobs, where things should be
lush great.
But unlike the Lord Algae's, Iwant it to be in your face.
(27:30):
But I also want it to have alittle bit of life, a little bit
of movement to it, so I try tofind a balance in between.
I'm not as successful as eitherone of them, so it doesn't
really matter, but it looks likeChris Lord Algae won five and
nominated for seven when itcomes to Green Days, american
Idiot or whatever that album wascalled.
Jay Franze (27:51):
Wow, that's crazy.
I'll have to go back and listento the full album and just you
know, like when you learnsomething about it, it's so
interesting to go back andlisten to the music again and be
like okay now let me listen toit 2004, American.
Idiot, awesome, something aboutit.
It's so interesting to go backand listen to the music again
and be like, okay, now let me,2004, american, idiot, awesome.
I'll have to go check it out, play them back, relive the good
old days.
I also hate the reverse of that, where, like, there's an artist
(28:14):
and for some reason, they justcannot like project, or they
can't like it's supposed to bethis big swell or it's supposed
to be this big crescendo, andthey just can't like punch it
and I'm like what you know?
You know that they're supposedto be going somewhere and it
just the excitement falls flatyeah, no, that happens a lot too
(28:36):
, even with some of the famousartists.
Tiffany Mason (28:37):
I mean, there's
ours.
Even like ours, I like likefive finger death punch.
I mentioned them a lot.
Death punch, I mentioned them alot, I've been listening to
them a lot.
It's aggressive but it doesn'tquite have all the emotion that
it could for somebody who wouldbe a, let's say, a trained
vocalist.
Ivan is, as far as I know, isnot a trained vocalist.
(29:04):
Where, if you look at, a bandlike Distur singer is trained,
highly trained.
Oh so you can hear the thetalent difference.
Now, if you're just listeningfor rock music, both of them are
great singers, yeah, but if youlisten for talent in addition
to just like that rawness, disturbed has definitely got it
down interesting, I will have topay attention.
Jay Franze (29:26):
Well, we have um
oasis reuniting for a live tour
does anybody really care, wonderwall yeah, that's a great
song, it's okay they're aone-hit wonder.
Why wasn wasn't that on thelist?
Tiffany Mason (29:41):
I don't know if
they would like to be known as
that.
I don't quite think of them asthat, but yes, In my mind it's a
one-hit.
Jay Franze (29:53):
All right, were you
a big Korn fan.
No.
They have a festival seasoncoming up.
Tiffany Mason (29:58):
I respect them.
I heard the bass player at onetime.
He was playing a five stringbass and tuned them all to the
same note.
So no matter what he played, itwas always in tune.
Jay Franze (30:09):
Good for him.
Tiffany Mason (30:11):
Yeah, I don't
know if it's because of the way
he was slapping or how he wasperforming, but made me think
like that's a little cheatish.
But yeah.
But hey, if it works, it works,it works.
You know what I didn't think of?
Jay Franze (30:24):
it.
That's right.
You were just jealous.
Tiffany Mason (30:26):
I'm jealous yeah,
absolutely, absolutely.
I play bass and I'll tell you,I don't play like he does, I
don't play like anybody doeswell, the last thing I was going
to bring up was green day.
Jay Franze (30:39):
red hot chili
peppers and reform Reformed
Nirvana are going to perform atwo-day benefit.
Okay, I'm saying this wrong, they're going to have a two-day
benefit.
Tiffany Mason (30:49):
Does that
surprise you?
Jay Franze (30:50):
For wildfires.
Well, I kept thinking two-daybenefit, but I wanted to say
benefiting.
So a two-day benefit benefiting, right, it doesn't work.
Anyway.
Two-day benefit benefitingright, it doesn't work anyway.
Two-day benefit for wildfirerelief, to raise money for the
fire victims in california.
(31:11):
So I think that's prettyawesome do we know who's gonna
sing?
Well, it says reformed.
So whoever their new person is,I don't know you are not
helping me, not Kurt Cobain.
Tiffany Mason (31:24):
You don't think
he's going to show up.
I was wondering, I guess, isPost Malone going to step?
Jay Franze (31:31):
in.
I don't know.
Cross your fingers?
Yeah, because that was one ofour stories before right Post
Malone had done it.
Tiffany Mason (31:39):
You are very good
at this.
Jay Franze (31:42):
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, there it is love you so much
all right moving on I reeled itup, though like yeah, you did.
Tiffany Mason (31:57):
You like a
fishing, you had talent to the
flip.
Jay Franze (32:03):
All right.
Tiffany Mason (32:04):
Is that?
Jay Franze (32:05):
it.
Tiffany Mason (32:05):
Are we moving on
Question of the day.
I think we're moving on, we'reending the segment on a flip off
.
That's wonderful.
Jay Franze (32:10):
Yeah.
I'll tell you your number one.
Tiffany Mason (32:14):
All right folks.
Question of the day who is yourfavorite one-hit wonder.
Who is your favorite One?
Hit Wonder, kenny George.
Those out in the internet world, please go ahead and chime in.
I will kick us off.
Tommy Two-Tone 8675309.
(32:37):
That is one of the best songsthat I know of.
I mean, it was an amazing song, but are they truly a one-hit
wonder?
Jay Franze (32:47):
I have no idea.
What else did they sing?
Tiffany Mason (32:51):
That's what I'm
wondering.
I don't know, so I'm looking itup.
I probably should have beenmore prepared if I was going to
do this.
Jay Franze (32:57):
Well, while you're
looking it up, I got it, oh,
okay.
Tiffany Mason (33:00):
Yeah, one-hit
wonder.
I Well, while you're looking itup, I got it.
Oh okay, yeah, one Hit Wonder.
I mean, I don't recognize asingle other song and it
actually says on here One HitWonder.
When I look them up, there yougo.
What did you think of 8675309?
Jay Franze (33:14):
A phone number you
will never forget.
I freaking love it.
It's got a great beat to it.
It's fun to sing along to Rollsoff the tongue.
Yeah, to sing along to rollsoff the tongue.
Yeah, jenny, I got your numberand my sister's name is Jenny.
Tiffany Mason (33:27):
Well, I'd like to
say my wife's is, but it's
Jennifer.
I just call her wife, I canprobably count the amount of
times I've called her by hername on my hand, but yeah, my
sister's name is Jenny and onthe birth certificate it's Jenny
.
Jay Franze (33:41):
And Mrs Ferguson,
her fourth grade teacher I think
it was fourth grade, otherwisefifth always called her Jennifer
and on all of her paperworkwrote the name Jennifer.
Everything she sent home if shehad any correspondence with my
parents it was always Jennifer, this Jennifer that, and my mom
told her at the first quarterconference oh, it's Jenny.
And the teacher still proceededto write Jennifer.
(34:02):
So at, like you know, semesterend, my mom brings in my
sister's birth certificate andshe's like it's just Jenny,
because before the teacher hadfought with her, like, oh, it
must be Jennifer.
So my mom brought in the birthcertificate and that teacher
continued the rest of the yearto write Jennifer on everything.
My sister hated it, my momhated it and I definitely didn't
(34:24):
want Mrs Ferguson when it wasmy turn coming up.
Tiffany Mason (34:30):
I have my three
daughters, and we've given them
all Italian names, but they allhave Italian names that shorten
into something else, so we getSarah.
Jay Franze (34:37):
Bella Luciana and
Valentina.
Tiffany Mason (34:38):
We got Sarah,
bella, luciana and Valentina.
We've got Bella, lucy and Valenand, for whatever reason,
everybody calls Lucy Lucy.
Jay Franze (34:54):
But my daughter
Bella.
They insist on calling herSarah Bella all the time.
Tiffany Mason (34:56):
She'll go either
way, she doesn't care, she just
goes with it.
But I asked her once do youhave a preference?
You want them to call you Bella?
She's like no.
So I'm like okay, whatever youlive you girl.
I was talking about that theother day too, because my name
is not my given name.
So, yes, imagine that.
(35:20):
But I've never been called bymy given name and I can't
imagine doing it now, althoughthat's what my kids call me.
Jay Franze (35:29):
Dad.
Yes, that's my given name, dad, you're very smart though.
J-dad Francie.
Tiffany Mason (35:35):
Gerald.
Jay Franze (35:39):
Gerald Francis
Francie Jr.
That is my grandfather's name.
Tiffany Mason (35:41):
And they tried
calling me Jerry but they called
my dad Jerry and that justconfused all of the old folk in
my family, calling both of usJerry.
So they shortened me to J,which was one letter.
Jay Franze (35:52):
And it should have
been G.
Tiffany Mason (35:54):
Well.
Jerry is with a J too, andthat's the official shortening
of Gerald Unless, you're a girl,it would be a G, but they
shortened it down to the letterJ, but Facebook, of all things,
would not let me use the letterJ.
Up until Facebook, everything Ihad, all my websites,
everything was just one letter.
(36:14):
If you look at my books, theletter J is the author, and all
that stuff.
But Facebook would not let youhave a one-letter name.
So I put the A-Y in there andman, if that didn't stick.
So now I have J-Y on everything, so whatever.
Jay Franze (36:34):
Way to go Facebook.
You guys, do you Thank?
You Zuck.
Tiffany Mason (36:39):
All right.
Callback from last week.
We were talking about MeredithBrooks and the song, which is a
great song.
Jay Franze (36:45):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (36:45):
And she's on the
list of one-hit wonders and I
know a couple of her other songs, but it's only because I own
the album.
But none of them were on theradio, at least not that I know
of.
But she is definitely listed asthe one-hit wonder.
Now you said you didn't knowwho she was last week.
Jay Franze (37:05):
I definitely know
who she is.
Sorry, yeah, refresher.
Like I said, I never reallyknow who sings what songs, but
did I have a problem singing thelyrics?
Nope.
Tiffany Mason (37:18):
So you do know
the song for sure.
Jay Franze (37:20):
Oh, for sure.
Tiffany Mason (37:22):
Yeah, good one.
Yep, George says 8-6-7-5-3-0-9.
It was a very fun song and Ifind that funny too.
I work with a lot of youngerpeople.
Being the older person that Iam, I work with a lot of young
people and they all still knowthat song.
They all still know that phonenumber.
Jay Franze (37:41):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (37:48):
Any of us could
call jenny at any time.
Yeah, we got her number.
You know, a lot of people did alot of people use that phone
number in real life across allarea codes.
I mean people were calling thatnumber all the time no, I would
not do that to myself so I'msure jenny changed her phone
quick.
Jay Franze (38:02):
I bet it was in a
lot of bathroom stalls.
Tiffany Mason (38:05):
For a good time.
Call it's right there in thelyric All right, before I move
on to some of these, would youlike to tell me one of yours?
Jay Franze (38:14):
Yes, one of mine
that popped out to me was the
Macarena and the Macarena littleline dance.
Man that was very fun.
At every wedding Everybody wasdoing the Macarena little line
dance.
Man, that was very fun.
At every wedding Everybody wasdoing the Macarena.
And the funny part is evenHannah and her cheer team know
it and they'll do it, like atsome of their gatherings or
whatever, when they get to doingall the different line dances.
(38:34):
That's one that will come upfrom time to time and I'm like,
wow, okay, so one hit wonder.
We maybe should have done onehit wonder that has stuck around
for a while, because that's onelike the um jenny 8, 6, 7, 5, 3
0, 9.
That one has kind of stood thetest of time.
They're one hit wonders at thetime, but you know, some of them
(38:54):
hang around, they linger ohyeah, that one lingers for sure
yeah, yeah all right, you'regonna have to help me and
forgive me.
Tiffany Mason (39:03):
Um name is ulu I
think it's ulu ulu, I'll go with
it.
Ulu favorite one hit wonder isis that rue?
Jay Franze (39:14):
I think it's a larue
bulletproof is larue
bulletproof?
Tiffany Mason (39:18):
all right, I do
not know it.
Proof you know, it.
Jay Franze (39:22):
I think that's the
song.
Tiffany Mason (39:23):
All right, we'll
find out.
Jay Franze (39:25):
I may know this
person Help us out.
We're older than you, we areold.
Tiffany Mason (39:33):
And George says
what?
George, I don't know what yourwhat is in reference to, but
please help me out, it is.
Jay Franze (39:39):
I do like that song.
Tiffany Mason (39:40):
It is a little
newer, pointing out the fact
that I'm old.
I love having you here.
Please come back.
Jay Franze (39:48):
That's my kid.
I love it.
Tiffany Mason (39:53):
You don't use
your real name.
I kind of do.
I mean I go by Jay, it's likewhat I go by.
I mean to me it's my, my realname.
Jay Franze (40:02):
I've never been
called anything other than that
it's always interesting whenpeople don't use their real name
.
I drove school bus for a littlebit and this one little kid was
all nervous because his momwasn't there to get him off the
bus, whatever.
So I radio into the base andI'm like hey, I'm at this stop,
I've got this child with me.
Mom and dad aren't here andthey're like what's the child's
name?
So I tell them and they'relooking through the system.
(40:25):
They don't have this kid.
So they're like ask him if hegoes by another name.
So, or if he has another name.
So I asked him if he hasanother name.
Sure enough, he was going bylike Robert and his yeah, and
his given name is Christopher.
So like, the school records sayChristopher, but this kid's
going by something completelydifferent.
I worked at a doctor's officeand it'd be the same thing.
(40:45):
They'd call in and be like youknow, little Susie has a rash, I
want her to see the doctor.
So I'm trying to pull up littleSusie's account or whatever to
make the appointment.
Tiffany Mason (40:53):
It's really Mary.
Jay Franze (40:54):
Lou, yeah, you think
that that's something you would
say, like our daughter.
Her name is Hannah and there'sno H at the end, and so every
time we go anywhere and Iregister for anything, we always
say it's Hannah, there's no Hat the end.
Tiffany Mason (41:08):
Why would you do
that to the poor kid?
Jay Franze (41:10):
Well, jay, if we
have time I don't know if we
have time- Well, we don't, butyou know we've already blown
that, so who cares?
We always take the time anyway.
When I wanted to have adaughter, my husband said you
know he wasn't ready, but he'slike I'll let you know when I am
ready.
I said, oh yeah, okay, you, mr.
Tiffany Mason (41:27):
Communication.
So you get as far as the H andyou had the daughter before the
H and you said, oh, screw it.
Jay Franze (41:34):
No, so we went to
this place in Chicago called the
Ravidia.
It's like this outdooramphitheater but it's kind of
hoity-toity and you bring likeyour fancy wines and cheeses and
meats and whatever right.
That's actually where I sawCarrie Underwood.
I don't know how she was thereat this, but she was.
Tiffany Mason (41:49):
You can't
convince us.
You're fancy.
There's nothing you could say.
That's going to convince us,Jay.
Jay Franze (41:56):
I'm fancy like
Applebee's.
Tiffany Mason (41:59):
On a Friday night
.
Yeah, there you go, I'm withyou tonight.
I'm not going to get yelled atagain.
Jay Franze (42:05):
Okay.
So we're sitting there and wewere really into wine at the
time and he pulled out a bottleand he was like what do you
think?
And I said, oh, cabernet, thatlooks great.
And he was like no, the name ofthe winery.
And I was like, oh, hannahWinery, I don't know that winery
.
And he was like no, for thename of our daughter.
And then I was like, oh gee,you mean it.
(42:29):
That's what happened after.
Tiffany Mason (42:34):
Didn't you just
say your child was watching
tonight?
Jay Franze (42:37):
Yeah, but he's 21.
He's got a kid of his own.
He's fine.
He's got two kids of his own,so he knows about the birds and
the bees.
He knows what happens after yousay you can have a baby.
You get a baby, yeah.
Tiffany Mason (42:49):
Yeah, all right,
moving on to George.
Let's get back to the show.
George says blues traveler hook.
Now, george, I'm with you.
Great song.
But are they really a one hitwonder?
Jay Franze (43:02):
I don't think so.
That song might have been morepopular than the other ones, but
I think enough of them made itout.
Tiffany Mason (43:10):
Yeah, they had
several hits right and I'm going
to have to look them up, butthey had several hits.
Jay Franze (43:15):
Now, George, help us
out.
Is Hook why you Want to Give Methe Run Around, Because that
one was Blues Travelers and Idon't think it's Hook, no Right.
Tiffany Mason (43:34):
Runaround the
Mountains, win Again.
Look Around Hook Brother.
Jay Franze (43:37):
John, it's
definitely the most popular one,
for sure.
Yeah, so it's their one hittheir most popular one hit.
Tiffany Mason (43:43):
It is the most
popular of their hits.
Jay Franze (43:46):
And.
Tiffany Mason (43:46):
George, I'm going
to do it to you again only
because you did it twice.
You know the rules here, but hedid it twice.
He's got another one here, butit's also another one.
I wouldn't consider a one hit.
Jay Franze (43:56):
Oh yeah.
Tiffany Mason (43:56):
It's their big
hit, but I don't know if it's
their one hit, and that's Hootieand the Blowfish.
Let Her Cry.
Jay Franze (44:02):
Yeah, yeah, we're
going to slap your hands on this
one, george.
George is going to get fired.
Tiffany Mason (44:07):
Oh, I don't.
I wanted to have that buttontonight, george, I really did.
George, you're fired.
But no, all right, george, you're going to have to do a
little bit better, buddy Come upwith an actual one-hit wonder.
He said he got it from the list.
But I like their music ingeneral, oh yeah yeah, yeah, oh,
(44:28):
look at Mumbo no 5.
Jay Franze (44:29):
Oh yeah.
Tiffany Mason (44:29):
Mumbo no 5.
Jay Franze (44:31):
A little bit of
Jessica.
Tiffany Mason (44:34):
George says it's
okay, just burn me.
Jay Franze (44:39):
Well, I warned you,
George.
Tiffany Mason (44:40):
You said it right
at the beginning of the night.
Jay Franze (44:42):
George, yeah,
there's always a burn coming.
Tiffany Mason (44:48):
You want to go
back to singing Mambo or Mumbo
or whatever, however youpronounce it.
Jay Franze (44:52):
That one was so fun
because I never, like you know,
I'm such a big fan about thelyrics and I could never
remember what girl's name wasnext, so I was just throwing out
a name and hoping and prayingI'd get it right.
But I thought that's what madethat one kind of fun.
And it also sounds like I knowit's a mumbo, but it kind of
sounds like a limbo song or likeyou're at a party and you know
(45:15):
you could easily.
Tiffany Mason (45:16):
It's a party song
for sure, yeah, for sure now in
the late 90s I produced analbum for a girl named tristan
burke really amazing songwriterand she's um put together a
great album and she did a covernot on her album, but she did a
cover of sir mix-a-lot.
Baby got back.
How do?
(45:36):
You do that sir, mix-a-lot, Iwould say, is a one-hit wonder I
would say so, but yes, um,tristan went ahead and she did a
cover of that and she did agreat job.
I mean, she's you know she is apop rock singer on her album but
when she sings she playsacoustic guitar by herself most
of the time and her songs soundkind of folkish and then, if you
(46:01):
can imagine somebody folkishdoing a little bit of Baby, get
Back.
It was very clever.
She's a very clever artist.
Jay Franze (46:08):
I think that's one
of those that has lingered.
A lot of people know that oneStood the test of time, linger.
Tiffany Mason (46:17):
All right, George
is going to Natalie Imbruglia.
Jay Franze (46:20):
Yes With Torn.
I love that song.
Tiffany Mason (46:23):
And he's got
question marks.
He's wondering if we're goingto tear it down.
It's the only song of hers Iknow.
Is she a true one-hit wonder?
I don't know.
Jay Franze (46:33):
I think so.
Tiffany Mason (46:34):
I think so All
right, Natalie.
Jay Franze (46:35):
Sarri in our book
Third time's a charm.
Tiffany Mason (46:37):
You're a one-hit
wonder, but your name sounds a
little bit more known to me tobe a one-hit wonder.
We'll go with that one.
Jay Franze (46:45):
I think because it
was so popular.
Tiffany Mason (46:47):
You know what I
did.
I told you about the list andthe chat and all the stuff.
I pulled up the window.
I forgot about it.
Anyway, it's going like crazyover here.
I don't even have it on myscreen.
Jay Franze (46:58):
Oh for funny.
Tiffany Mason (47:00):
All right, my
brother chimed in.
Jay Franze (47:07):
Daniel Porter Bad
Day.
So you had a bad day, you takeit one down.
Tiffany Mason (47:12):
Sing a sad song.
I'm so glad you sang, because Ihad no idea what it was.
Jay Franze (47:16):
See, I don't know
who sings it, but I know the
song, daniel.
Tiffany Mason (47:18):
Porter.
Jay Franze (47:20):
Daniel Porter.
Now we all know who sings it.
Tiffany Mason (47:22):
Thank you, Chad.
That's two weeks in a row.
Look at you.
Jay Franze (47:28):
That might be my
favorite one that got suggested.
Tiffany Mason (47:30):
Had a bad day.
Jay Franze (47:31):
Mm-hmm, all right
yeah.
Tiffany Mason (47:34):
He made another
one too.
He's not following the rules.
I don't know, did we have rulesfor this one?
I don't even think we did.
So you're good, I don't thinkso.
Jay Franze (47:45):
Are you going to be
my girl?
By Jet, I'm thinking.
Are you going to go my way?
Which?
Tiffany Mason (47:51):
is not.
Are you going to be my girl?
I don't know.
I don't know that one either.
I'll take the blame for thatone.
I'm fired.
Jay Franze (47:59):
Okay, well, one that
I'm dying to tell you, stacey's
mom.
Tiffany Mason (48:02):
Oh, she's got it
going on.
How many times has anybody eversaid that?
Jay Franze (48:09):
Six gajillion
thousand times.
Tiffany Mason (48:12):
Every time I hear
anybody say something about a
mom or Stacy, it just goes rightto that.
Jay Franze (48:19):
I completely agree.
I have a friend and she and Ithink in like lyrics of songs.
So we are on a networking callevery Thursday together and she
and I are in the chat justblowing it up every time.
Somebody says something in thesong that we think of and then
somebody else says somethingelse.
So we're in the chat justconstantly back and forth those
aren't the things we put in ourchats.
Tiffany Mason (48:40):
George says yes,
stacy's mom yes do you know her,
george?
Can you introduce me?
I hear she's got it going on.
It's all you've ever wantedit's all I've ever wanted
stacy's all I've ever wanted.
Jay Franze (48:55):
Stacey's mom.
Tiffany Mason (48:57):
George says he
only knows her from the song.
Jay Franze (49:01):
Me too, it's weird.
Tiffany Mason (49:03):
All right, we

Jay Franze (50:51):
It's by a band
called.
I forget who sings it.
Oh, that's really their name.
Tiffany Mason (50:54):
That's what she
wrote.
Oh, that's funny, their name.
Jay Franze (51:03):
That's what she
wrote.
Oh, that's funny.
Yes, sunshine, we'll sing.
In the sunshine, we'll see.
Tiffany Mason (51:06):
Please tell me
it's an old song, so I don't
feel bad for not knowing what itis well, if I could spell, that
would be better.
In the meantime, Nigel.
Jay Franze (51:16):
Oh yeah, from the
60s.
Tiffany Mason (51:18):
Thank you, dear
God, thank you.
George says that's an old song, but it's a good song.
Jay Franze (51:24):
Oh, I trust it even
more, george backing it.
Tiffany Mason (51:29):
Nigel, we have a
Nigel.
Jay Franze (51:33):
It's a German name,
isn't it?
Tiffany Mason (51:34):
Nigel.
Jay Franze (51:35):
I don't think of it
as a German name.
Tiffany Mason (51:37):
Fine, okay, sorry
, nigel, we have Nigel in the
house.
Nigel says Patrick Henderson, born to be alive.
We were born.
Jay Franze (51:46):
Born there you go.
Born to be alive.
Tiffany Mason (51:50):
Born to be alive.
Jay Franze (51:51):
Yes, that's a great
song.
I like that song.
Tiffany Mason (51:53):
That was a good
song.
I remember that one growing up.
Jay Franze (51:56):
I'd pull it up, I'd
listen to it.
Tiffany Mason (51:57):
Put it in your
one-hit wonder playlist.
Jay Franze (52:00):
I was thinking about
that.
We should make a one-hit wonderplaylist.
Tiffany Mason (52:04):
I'm sure there's
a one-hit wonder playlist.
Jay Franze (52:06):
But is there one by
us, jay?
Tiffany Mason (52:08):
No, and you know
what I was thinking too, I want
to create a Spotify playlist ofour guests.
You know, you come on our show, you get added to our playlist.
Sure, yeah, yeah yeah, justthrowing that out as an idea,
george, get on that.
And hey, george, you know how'sour, what's that page, our
Wikipedia page, how's our?
Jay Franze (52:29):
Wikipedia page
coming it's almost compiled.
Tiffany Mason (52:32):
At this point
it's got to be pretty full.
Tell us when you're ready forus to check it out?
A fool for learning, that's agood name.
A fool for learning, aka Joseph.
Jay Franze (52:44):
Okay.
Tiffany Mason (52:45):
He says come on,
Eileen, Come on.
Jay Franze (52:51):
Now, to be fair, I
don't even know her.
Tiffany Mason (52:53):
Hey, give her a
shot.
Dexy and the Midnight Runner.
Is there something wrong?
Your face is red and I don'tunderstand what's going on it's
not.
Jay Franze (53:09):
It's not podcast
appropriate Jay it is not
appropriate.
Tiffany Mason (53:14):
Let's leave it as
it is.
Jay Franze (53:16):
You talk about left
lanes.
Tiffany Mason (53:17):
This is this is
the person that's driving down
the interstate with theirdirectional line.
It doesn't ever shut it off.
That's how left this one is.
Yes, texting the midnightrunners I would.
I would include that in thethe-hit wonder listing for sure,
but it's a good song.
(53:38):
I liked it it was fun.
80s had fun songs, even thoughthat was my heyday.
That's when I graduated highschool, so that's when all the
music I like should have beenout.
But I was never a big fan ofall the 80s sounding stuff or
all the 80s looking stuff thebright colors and the parachute
pants and the big fluffy hairand what else was there.
(54:02):
Oh, the music was just verysynthesizer.
I played keyboards and stuff inthe bands that I was in and I
just didn't like that sound.
Jay Franze (54:14):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (54:15):
So I was more of
the hair metal style.
You don't say Surprise, surprise, which reminds me Rat
is not a one-hit wonder.
Folks, stop writing Rat in thechat.
Rat had many hits many albumsand many hot girls on the cover
of those albums.
George says I can't type today.
(54:37):
That's all right, george, wecan't type any day.
I didn't know that.
I'm working on a Wikipedia page, george, go back a few episodes
, buddy, we had thisconversation on the air.
Yeah, wait, wait, wait.
Kate Stanton, singer-songwriter.

Tiffany Mason (54:53):
Right here from
my neck of the woods, here in

music by wild cherry.
And you know what she uses thecherry emoji oh, I love the
emojis extra, extra credit, extra points agreed their their
(55:13):
family from Ohio and she usedmusical note emojis.
She's not only informative, butshe has emojis.
She keeps things light.
I like them.
Spirit in the sky.
How about that?
Jay Franze (55:26):
Spirit in the sky.
Tiffany Mason (55:30):
You know what
I've done?
I've found your One Hit Wonderplaylist.
Jay Franze (55:35):
You did, I did.
I hid it, hid it from you oh,this is a great song.
Tiffany Mason (55:40):
I didn't think of
this one.
It's by a guy named mark cohen.
Mark cohen, he's a very knownmusician.
He's a very good piano playerand he's had, you know, a lot of
songs, but the one he is knownfor.
Jay Franze (55:54):

Tiffany Mason (55:55):

married to his cousin.
This is Walking in Memphis.
Jay Franze (56:03):
Oh, wow.
Tiffany Mason (56:05):
With my feet 10
feet off the ground.
Jay Franze (56:11):
That's going to tie
with.
Had a Bad Day.
It's up there.
Tiffany Mason (56:13):
We're going to
have to go with.
Had a Bad Day because it camein from my brother, not just a
listener, but my brother.
This one is just on the list.
Jay Franze (56:21):
Ooh, that one's so
good I've got to write it down.
Tiffany Mason (56:27):
Breakfast at
Tiffany's.
Jay Franze (56:30):
And I said what
about?
Tiffany Mason (56:32):
breakfast.
Now I'm going to throw this outthere.
I'm going to do a callback to aprevious episode when you said
that it was a song with a girl'sname and I said it was a store
and it is a store, but the wayit's written here it's written
as a girl's name.
Jay Franze (56:47):
Yeah.
All right, but if you came over, to my house and you have
breakfast at my house.
Tiffany Mason (56:52):
I know, but I
always thought they were talking
about the store.
Breakfast at my house, I know, but I always thought they were
talking about the store.
Jay Franze (56:57):
You ever had
breakfast at Tiffany's jewelry
store?
Tiffany Mason (57:01):
Well, I thought
that was what made the song
clever.
I don't know no.
Fine.
So now you're just too damnliteral.
Your song sucks now I don'tknow.
It's great.
George says Oasis Wonderwallyes.
I agree with you there.
He also says, Walking inMemphis is awesome.
Thank you.
George.
Now you're back on track,George.
(57:22):
You're back on the good list.
Cotton Eye Joe.
Why did we not think of that?
Thank you, Steve.
Cotton Eye Joe Whoa.
Jay Franze (57:32):
I had on my list no
Rain by Blind Melon.
My uncle introduced me to thatsong.
Tiffany Mason (57:42):
And.
I love that fat little girl onthe front with the bee costume.
You just call a poor girl fathey as long as I'm not the one
doing it.
Jay Franze (57:47):
that's all I'm
saying.
I'm just speaking facts.
She was obese, she wasoverweight.
What do you want me to say?
Tiffany Mason (57:54):
I'm all right
with you spitting facts.
I'm okay with that.
The rest of the world, I don'tknow if they're okay with facts.
Jay Franze (58:00):
Well, she's cute.
She was cute with her littlebee costume.
She's cute, let's go with that.
Tiffany Mason (58:03):
The little cute
kid that was on the cover.
Jay Franze (58:05):
The cute little kid
on the cover.
Tiffany Mason (58:08):
My Sharona from.
Jay Franze (58:09):
The Knack.
Thank you.
Tiffany Mason (58:11):
Cindy.
Thank you, Cindy.
Yes, that was a good one.
Jay Franze (58:17):
I had I'm Too Sexy
by Right Said Fred God, we would
say I'm Too Sexy abouteverything all the time.
Tiffany Mason (58:22):
That song was
popular.
Not a good song, but man was itpopular.
Jay Franze (58:28):
It was a terrible
song.
It was like she Bangs fromWilliam oh yeah, hung William
Fonger.
Yeah from American Idol.
Tiffany Mason (58:39):
I hope he is for
his sake.
That's all I can say that poorbastard.
He's a little guy who just gotmade fun of sometimes.
He's not feeling bad about itLet me tell you, good for him,
he had his 15 for sure.
Jay Franze (58:54):
That's right.
Spin Doctors, two Princesthat's a great song.
Yeah, I love that song if you, mike.
Tiffany Mason (59:02):
Thank you, mike.
I'm leaving names off.
Joan osborne, one of us.
She had more than one song, didn't she?
I mean she seemed she was verypopular for a while.
I would hope she had more thanone hit.
Jay Franze (59:16):
I am not knowing.
I don't know of the other ones, but I hope she had one.
I don't know if you've caughtvery many Apple TV shows.
Tiffany Mason (59:29):
Not recently.
Jay Franze (59:30):
Okay, I feel like
they're really like for me,
complete hit or complete miss.
I really like Bad Monkey.
That sounds like a great name.
And now Seth Rogen has a comedyseries called the Studio.
It is set to premiere on Appleon March 26th.
The show features Rogen as MattRemick, an unexpectedly
(59:52):
appointed studio exec navigatingthe tumultuous film industry.
So big fan of Seth Rogen.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:00):
Let me ask you a
question.
Jay Franze (01:00:01):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:03):
I get told all
the time that I look and sound
like Seth Rogen.
Jay Franze (01:00:08):
Yes, and I feel like
you were the one that I was
thinking of the other day and Iwas like, oh, seth Rogen.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:15):
You think so?
Jay Franze (01:00:20):
Maybe not looks,
looks, but yeah, some of the
facial expressions you make.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:23):
He's just like
that stoner character.
That's all I can ever think of.
Jay Franze (01:00:26):
When I think of him
is that stoner character no, I
think of him in 40 year old, virgin and also, uh, the blonde
when she gets pregnant knockedup yeah, yeah, that was a good
one yes but he was kind of astoner in that too.
But yes, they say, I have thatmonotone style voice to me yeah
(01:00:48):
yeah yeah, so, anyways, that'sexciting.
Coming up this week, march 26th,tomorrow, yes, okay, gabriel
Iglesias, fluffy Mania that'skind of his stage name, or what
he goes by Fluffy he's going tohave a massive 2025 arena tour,
and we actually my husband'swork used to have a box seat,
(01:01:10):
and so he asked me one night hey, you want to, you know, go see
this act.
And I was like, yeah, okay, whatever.
He didn't really know what itwas, so he didn't really tell me
what it was.
We had such a great night thatnight, though, just listening to
him rip off the jokes andperform, and he was great.
So if he's coming to your area,I would say it's worth the
ticket price.
Tiffany Mason (01:01:31):
She says check
him out.
Jay Franze (01:01:33):
I say check him out,
Okay price she says check them
out.
I say check them out.
Okay, nikki glazer am I sayingher name right?
Glazer glazer?
I knew you said it differentlythan me.
Nikki glazer's golden goldenglobe okay, okay, jay couldn't
say cersei I or kcg, I clearlycan't do this.
(01:01:54):
Nikki Glazer's Golden GlobesGig Boost Tour.
Tiffany Mason (01:02:06):
KGC.
You keep saying KCG.
Jay Franze (01:02:11):
It's easier.
Oh, okay, kgc.
Tiffany Mason (01:02:16):
See, now it's
harder to say, isn't it?
Jay Franze (01:02:18):
Barely Okay, Fine,
Whatever.
Barely Sorry Kaden, Sorry Kaden, Okay.
Fresh off a viral hosting stintGlazer alive and well, tour
double in ticket sales.
So she must be doing a greatjob because she's making a lot
more money on her ticket sales.
Tiffany Mason (01:02:38):
She is awesome.
She's one of the best comediansout there, especially when it
comes to roasting.
She is earning a name forherself when it comes to
roasting and she's brutal.
I mean, she can tear you apart, but she's awesome at it.
Now her other stuff.
She had a podcast apart, butshe's awesome at it.
Now her other stuff.
(01:02:59):
She had a podcast and stuff Ididn't necessarily care for.
I've seen some of her littleskit style stuff that I didn't
care for, but her comedy orstandup is amazing and her
roasting is amazing.
Jay Franze (01:03:09):
I'll look up her
pictures.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:11):
You said it three
times.
I just want to point out thisis what happens when you say it
three times Kayden shows up.
Hey y'all, oh, hey Kayden goodto see you buddy, thank you for
joining, but yes, nikki Glaser.
Jay Franze (01:03:23):
Oh, I do not know
her.
She's awesome.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:24):
She's a beautiful
girl too.
Jay Franze (01:03:26):
I was going to say
she's beautiful.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:27):
She's hard on
herself.
Jay Franze (01:03:36):
She doesn't, and
stuff.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:37):
She does not
think she's a good looking woman
.
Jay Franze (01:03:38):
I think she's
beautiful.
She's like a smoke show.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:39):
She's not my
style, not what I would want.
Jay Franze (01:03:41):
She's no Tina Fey.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:42):
She's no.
Tina Fey but she is classicallybeautiful.
Jay Franze (01:03:46):
She is classically
beautiful.
That's exactly right.
I think yeah, she's beautiful.
I can't believe she.
That makes me sad.
Alright, moving right along.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:55):
Wait, wait,
before we do Caden, you know, he
says I hope things are goingwell, yeah, great.
Yeah.
Jay Franze (01:04:04):
But if you notice,
it says KGC Caden.
Tiffany Mason (01:04:07):
I was just saying
KCG, it's KGC.
We say it slow, so we get itright, okay, slow down.
I say it slow, so I get itright.
Okay, slow down.
I say it slow, so I get itright, apparently, you might
need to do that too all rightorder.
Jay Franze (01:04:20):
I'm being dyslexic
about it, okay.
Matt rife's meteoric risecontinues his problematic world
tour I'm surprised to say it's ameteoric rise.
Well it's not mediocre.
They're saying like a meteorite.
Tiffany Mason (01:04:38):
Oh, that makes
more sense, doesn't it?
Jay Franze (01:04:40):
Yes, yes, they're
not saying mediocre.
Tiffany Mason (01:04:43):
Okay, that makes
more sense to me.
Jay Franze (01:04:45):
Yes, it's saying
that he also has an
international sold-out show.
Tiffany Mason (01:04:51):
He's going to
change it All right, we
appreciate it If he can justchange the KGC to.
Kcg oh yes.
We're forcing people to changetheir names.
Sorry, Matt Rife.
What is it?
Jay Franze (01:05:07):
So his comic tour is
called Problematic and it is
sold out.
International dates sold out.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:13):
Are you a fan of
Matt Rife?
Jay Franze (01:05:16):
Okay.
So he came to our area.
He was in I can't remember ifhe was in Jacksonville or St
Augustine, but I remember on theLadies of Nocatee page, oh man,
these women were going crazyLike, oh my gosh, he's so hot
Going on and on and on.
I looked him up, he's okay.
I get why they're saying thathe's way too young for me.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:36):
Yeah, he's 12,
but yeah.
Jay Franze (01:05:37):
Yeah, no, everyone
was going on and on about how
awesome he is.
I've not caught any of hismaterial, really, but I do know
his face.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:48):
Yeah, I can admit
it, he's a good-looking guy,
for sure.
Jay Franze (01:05:50):
He is.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:51):
He's very funny.
When he came to town.
I had a chance to go see himand it was fun, but I didn't
think it was that good.
Jay Franze (01:06:00):
Now is memory
serving me right, Because I feel
like I tried to pull up one ofhis specials and I feel like he
was swearing a ton and sometimesthat kind of ruins it for me,
Like when it becomes a littleexcessive, then I'm like, okay,
now you're just saying itbecause you think it's kind of
funny, but it almost just ruinsit for me, Like let's not
overuse it.
Tiffany Mason (01:06:17):
I don't mind if
cursing is your thing.
It's kind of like we talk aboutpolitics.
Being an artist Sure.
If that's your thing, it's yourthing, but if it's not, you
shouldn't lean heavily on it.
Matt Rife is a very funny guy.
His specials are very good.
And he even put his YouTubespecial together himself.
Oh, wow.
So I mean, he's a smart guy.
(01:06:39):
He has whatever size team hehas working with him.
He travels with his friends ascomedians.
The problem I had when I sawhim live was that he and his
friends are young.
And I don't feel like they havethe road miles on them that some
of the other comedians have.
So some of the other comediansknow how to command, like these
(01:07:02):
large rooms and he's funny.
But when you put him in thelarger, like the halls instead
of a comedy club, they kind ofswallow him up.
The actual pre-written materialwasn't as good as I would have
hoped.
It was where his crowd work isreally good, so he relied on the
(01:07:24):
crowd work and he spent moretime in the show doing crowd
work than he actually did doingmaterial.
I still thought it was funny.
I still thought it was great.
You know I enjoyed my night andthank you for having me, but I
think that the actualpre-written material could use a
little bit of a little bit moreof it.
Jay Franze (01:07:44):
A little more
polishing.
Tiffany Mason (01:07:46):
Just a little bit
more of the material.
Jay Franze (01:07:49):
Oh, because he did
so much crowd work.
Tiffany Mason (01:07:51):
It was a lot of
crowd work and that's what's
impressive.
Don't get me wrong, that's.
You know, that's all his viralclips, all of those things are
his crowd work.
But as a comedian, you shouldalso be able to tell a joke.
Jay Franze (01:08:02):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (01:08:03):
But great
comedian, yeah.
Hopefully he will be around along time.
Jay Franze (01:08:07):
Oh, I think he's got
a long career in front of him,
Especially as he gains.
Like you're saying, gains themiles.
Tiffany Mason (01:08:15):
Just wow, in his
time on Wild and Out.
Are you familiar with that?
No, all right, he was on the TVshow Wild and Out.
It's one of those improv thingswhere you're, you know, ripping
on each other.
It's kind of like a rap battlefor comedians.
Jay Franze (01:08:29):
Okay.
Tiffany Mason (01:08:30):
And he was very,
very good at it.
Jay Franze (01:08:32):
Huh, did they do the
traditional yo mama.
Tiffany Mason (01:08:36):
I'm sure he's
done all of it.
Very, very good.
All right, moving on.
Sorry, okay.
Jay Franze (01:08:44):
Jerry Seinfeld
unfrosted sequel.
This comedy legend hits afollow-up Pop-Tart movie.
Did you see the Pop-Tart movie?
No?
Tiffany Mason (01:08:51):
I love Pop-Tarts.
Jay Franze (01:08:53):
It was actually kind
of good.
I expected it to be really Lame.
I guess if you go into it withthe right mindset, you know like
I guess maybe my expectationswere low, so then it was
perfectly fine and I did like it.
But it looks like he's got asequel to that now, so it was on
one of the streaming services.
I guess it's going to come back.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:15):
I like Seinfeld.
I do, I like the show Seinfelda lot.
Jay Franze (01:09:19):
Have you ever seen
him in stand up?
Tiffany Mason (01:09:21):
I have.
Jay Franze (01:09:23):
Okay.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:25):
He's clever, I'll
give it to him yeah.
But it's not my thing, okay,he's the opposite.
He's like the extreme oppositeof Matt Reif.
Jay Franze (01:09:32):
Yes, all written.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:34):
It's all
pre-written and it's all very,
very basic, straight humor.
Jay Franze (01:09:40):
Yep, yep.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:41):
So if we can meet
somewhere in the middle, if you
two could get together and putsomething together for us, we
would enjoy it.
Jay Franze (01:09:47):
We're seeing a lot
of crossover in the music
industry.
Let me get some crossover inthe comedian space.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:51):
If you guys could
cross over a little bit and
maybe write some material forsomebody else.
If you guys can get togetherand do a little bit of a mashup
and maybe make some material forPost Malone to come in and put
together a comedy album, thatwould be fantastic.
Jay Franze (01:10:04):
That'd be awesome,
all right, well, do you want to
wrap up with Tony Hinchcliffe?
Tiffany Mason (01:10:11):
Sure.
Jay Franze (01:10:12):
Okay, okay.
So Netflix deal post Trumprally conversational comic Tony
Hinchcliffe, who called PuertoRico a float.
He had some things to say aboutPuerto Rico.
He scored a Netflix dealstarting April 25th and let's
(01:10:32):
leave it there.
Let's just say that he's gotnews.
Tiffany Mason (01:10:35):
Do you know much
about Tony?
Jay Franze (01:10:37):
I do not clearly.
Tiffany Mason (01:10:38):
Tony is.
He's a funny dude, but he hasmade a name for himself and I'll
give him all the credit in theworld.
He's out there in Austin, texas, and he runs a show called Kill
Tony Cool, where it started ina comedy club.
What he would do is he puts apanel and they bring up
(01:11:01):
comedians from the audience justpeople who would want to come
up and do one minute, andthey're supposed to do a new
minute.
So if they come up, it has tobe a new minute that they've
never done before.
And then they either give youpraise or rip you apart, and
it's a funny show.
It's like a two-hour live showthat they do once or twice a
week.
I watch it fairly regularly.
(01:11:21):
I mean it's pretty good.
I come to know of him throughthis show.
Kill Tony.
Jay Franze (01:11:27):
And what is it?
Where are you catching thisfrom?
This is on YouTube, he streamsit.
Tiffany Mason (01:11:32):
He does something
similar to us.
The only difference is he hasan audience.
I mean he's built that audiencefrom that small club to now
he's doing a Joe Rogan'sMothership.
Jay Franze (01:11:46):
Oh, wow.
Tiffany Mason (01:11:47):
And I mean it's
big, he's got a band, there's a
band that sits behind him, butthey listen to.
These people do a minute andeach week, you know, you get
thousands of people.
It used to be, you know, tensof people, now it's thousands.
They put their name in a hat.
He pulls their name out of thehat and reads it off.
The person makes their way tothe stage and typically fails
(01:12:08):
miserably, and they rip on themthe whole time and if you're
successful, they keep you onstage and they ask you personal
questions and get to know you alittle bit.
Jay Franze (01:12:18):
Oh, wow.
Tiffany Mason (01:12:18):
But I never saw
him do any standup.
So I was like man for somebodyI've never known or seen.
You're ripping these peopleapart.
But then I had a chance to seehim and he's pretty funny.
Jay Franze (01:12:30):
Pretty good, so he
deserves it.
Definitely send that to me intext message.
I want to check him out.
Tiffany Mason (01:12:36):
He is definitely
worth checking out.
Jay Franze (01:12:38):
All right, tony
Hinchcliffe, love me.
A new person to make me laugh.
Tiffany Mason (01:12:42):
I'll tell you
he's going to have some colorful
language.
Jay Franze (01:12:48):
Well, I'm sure it'll
be good.
I'll take a recommendation fromyou, Jay.
I trust you.
Tiffany Mason (01:12:53):
Don't blame it on
me, my taste is usually out
there.
Jay Franze (01:13:00):
I know.
All right, my friend, let's justmove on, let's leave it at that
well, rachel and I went and sawa father, daughter, the
daughter's boyfriend that's atrio and so we went to rooftop
bar and check that out.
That review will be out shortly.
What was so good about them isthey sing like how we kind of
(01:13:23):
got on a roll with these one-hitwonders.
Right, they sing songs that areyou know, they do cover music,
but they don't do like, you know, Sweet Caroline or kind of the
classic ones that everybody kindof.
They didn't do any Journey.
Tiffany Mason (01:13:40):
No.
Wouldn't it be cool, though, ifa band would come together and
do nothing, but one hit wonders.
Jay Franze (01:13:46):
Yes, I would be
totally all over it.
That's what we all want.
I mean, it's what we know, likeI think I've mentioned it
before on this show before, butyou tend to want to listen to
the music from when you were inhigh school and college.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:00):
But qualify it
Only one.
If you have more than one hit, you're out.
They'll only cover the one hits.
Jay Franze (01:14:08):
Yes, yes, no, I'm,
yeah, I'm down All right yeah,
no, I think it's a great concept.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:12):
Let's do it Me,
you and George.
Jay Franze (01:14:14):
Ugh, this is not
sounding good.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:19):
George, did you
see that as soon as we included
you, she said it doesn't soundgood.
No, I, you know.
I suggested you.
She said it doesn't sound good, and this is the one you want to
say is your best friend.
Jay Franze (01:14:31):
All I could think of
was me trying to sing and I was
like, eh, and thinking of Jaytrying to sing.
I was like eh.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:38):
Jay no sing.
Jay Franze (01:14:39):
I didn't think Mr
George does sing, so then maybe
it'd be okay.
He does sing.
George sings, right, I knowyeah, so maybe it'd be okay.
I was just thinking of you andI first, and I was like, no, no,
sir, wouldn't be good.
Nobody's coming to see us,george says he knows he's crying
now, okay, hannah had cheercompetition.
(01:15:02):
They got first place.
This is a new cheer team thatthey just like I don't know.
Tiffany Mason (01:15:08):
First competition
come in first.
Jay Franze (01:15:10):
First competition
and they came in first.
That's.
That's a pretty big deal.
I mean they went up against ateam that was that had a higher
difficulty level, but our teamhit more clean, which means
they're more sharp with liketheir motions and stuff Anyway,
and so I think that they had theupper hand just because of how
clean it was.
So that was really cool becauseher school team is done, so now
(01:15:31):
she's on the new storm team.
Did you hear about theunfortunate Tristan Bailey who
was stabbed like 112 times?
By a fellow classmate.
Yeah, she was a cheerleader andso her legacy lives on.
Her parents have done a ton ofwork with the Tristan Bailey
Foundation and so they startedthis team storm and what's
(01:15:56):
really cool is the music thatthe girls are performing to.
In the middle of it her sistersays I am the storm, and it's
just really cool how we wereable to, or how they were able
to, incorporate that family and,you know, help her legacy to
live on.
Tiffany Mason (01:16:11):
That's got to be
rough.
I was going to say the storm isa great name, and then all of a
sudden, you brought up thatstory and now it's like ooh.
Storm is a great name for acheerleading team.
Oh, mm-hmm.
Storm is a great name for acheerleading team.
Oh yeah, and their logo issuper fun.
But, yeah, my daughter's team, they had, they had somebody pass
away and they had these, thoserubber bracelets, but they put
(01:16:31):
them around their cheer shoesyeah, yep, yep.
Jay Franze (01:16:35):
it wasn't too long
after that that we had another
equally tragic event happen, andand so for that girl, everybody
did magenta lights because shewas part of a team that magenta
was their team color, so oneverybody's houses.
That was, yeah, so interestingways to pay tribute to those
girls, but super proud of them.
And they got a paid bid, whichmeans their registration fees or
(01:16:58):
whatever are paid for, orwhatever.
Anyway, so we're going to go toOrlando again in May.
Tiffany Mason (01:17:04):
That's a scam.
They do that with my daughterin the dance competitions Like
somebody on the team will win,you know, a scholarship to go
here Like yeah you just gavethem free entry to your thing.
Now they got to pay for all thetravel and all the things that
go along with getting that freeentry.
That's right.
No, you're scamming us is whatyou're doing?
Jay Franze (01:17:24):
That's right.
Well, speaking of thatcompetition, I went and got my
hair day-to-day.
That's why you can't see verymuch of it, because it's shorter
, Because we're getting readyfor cooler temperatures or
warmer temperatures, but I wasalso ready for a haircut.
Anyway, the lady who cuts myhair is actually Hannah's old
cheer coach.
Anyway, the lady who cuts myhair is actually Hannah's old
cheer coach.
So when Hannah first got intoit, she was part of a program
(01:17:45):
called Outlaws and Coach Jen washer coach.
And then Coach Jen turned intomy hairstylist and then on
Saturday we went up againstCoach Jen.
Tiffany Mason (01:17:59):
Good thing it was
after.
Jay Franze (01:18:02):
Yeah, so that was
good to see her and see her in
her element, doing her thing, opposed to just doing my hair.
And then I had the pleasure ofinterviewing Mr KGC today.
Tiffany Mason (01:18:14):
Look, at that,
look at that.
Jay Franze (01:18:16):
Say it again KGC.
Tiffany Mason (01:18:19):
There you go,
kaden, if you're still here.
Jay Franze (01:18:23):
Kaden and I had a
great conversation about.
Time has Changed Me by William.
Lee.
Tiffany Mason (01:18:27):
That's not what
you told me earlier.
Jay Franze (01:18:29):
Yes, I did.
Tiffany Mason (01:18:31):
You said I can't
believe I had that guy on my
show.
What was that about?
Jay Franze (01:18:36):
I said I couldn't
believe how genuine Kaden is At
only age 21.
I was pretty impressed by that.
He's only 21?
He's not old enough to be here?
Yeah, he is, he is, he's hereand actually his show his
interview on my show will comeout on April 3rd when he will be
interviewing me on his show.
Tiffany Mason (01:18:57):
Then that will
come out shortly after that so
full circle here, Nice, I likeit.
Jay Franze (01:19:06):
We are family, all
right.
So, that's where I'm going tobe.
What are you up to, Jay?
Tiffany Mason (01:19:16):
Well, on last
night's show you were able to
join me and we interviewed one,Connor Daly.
Jay Franze (01:19:19):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (01:19:20):
So that was good.
Hopefully that show will be outon Monday.
It kind of throws a wrench intoour release date.
So we had decided does thisshow does tonight go out on
Monday or does Connor go out onMonday?
Jay Franze (01:19:34):
Um no.
I think, Connor goes out onMonday.
When do you normally put us out?
On Tuesday or Wednesday?
Tiffany Mason (01:19:41):
Well, on guest
days Connor goes out Monday, we
go out on Wednesday.
When do you normally put us out?
On tuesday or wednesday, youknow, on guest days connor goes
out monday, we go out onwednesday.
Yeah, yeah, so I'll keep it thatway.
You know it's fair.
Fair enough one week.
Usually.
What people can expect from usis when we do an interview on a
monday, gets released thefollowing monday.
We do this show typically onwednesdays, get released on that
following wednesday yeah, I'msure going to be on the scenes
(01:20:02):
and how it works this is oursausage and this is how it's
made.
Jay Franze (01:20:05):
Oh shit I did not
take that left my friend, I did
not, that was all you Whoa, thisis our sausage and this is how
it's made.
Did you just whip that out?
Tiffany Mason (01:20:23):
Oh, it's sausage.
I don't have that one readilyavailable.
Jay Franze (01:20:26):
It's okay, I always
have it readily available.
You do, you really do.
Tiffany Mason (01:20:32):
This week I'll be
traveling and I was planning on
seeing the in-laws, but guesswhat?
The in-law she came here.
Jay Franze (01:20:40):
Nice.
Tiffany Mason (01:20:40):
So she's here
tonight and I'm going to be
leaving.
It's fantastic, what a good, good time I was hoping to get to
go to nashville.
I keep saying we got to make itto nashville and every
opportunity I get is fallingshort.
So tiffany, right nowchallenged you, pick a time.
We're going to go to nashvilleand let's make it happen.
George says he's going to meetus there.
Jay Franze (01:21:00):
Perfect.
Oh my gosh, I always wanted tomeet you, George.
He's going to reveal the whatis it?
Tiffany Mason (01:21:08):
What page we got
going on?
Jay Franze (01:21:10):
The Wikipedia.
Tiffany Mason (01:21:12):
George is going
to head down there.
And then Caden said he's goingto go From Spokane all the way
to Nashville To spend time withus too.
Jay Franze (01:21:20):
I love it sounds
great, That'll be fun.
Tiffany Mason (01:21:23):
I don't know, I
have no idea.
At this point I'm just rambling.
Kgc says we've got to go toSpokane.
Kgc, did I say it right?
I want to make sure I said itright.
Jay Franze (01:21:36):
You did.
Tiffany Mason (01:21:36):
KGC.
Jay Franze (01:21:37):
Yeah, you said it
like it wasn't even a problem.
Kaden Kaden K.
Tiffany Mason (01:21:39):
Yeah, you said it
like it wasn't even a problem.
Caden.
Caden says we got to go toSpokane.
We will, caden, we will go toSpokane, but first you've got to
come here.
Tony Scott (01:21:47):
We're all going to
be in Nashville?
Is it Caden, gerald Collins?
Tiffany Mason (01:21:50):
Yes, gerald is
Caden's middle name.
They named him after me.
Jay Franze (01:21:55):
Yes, that's
thoughtful of his parents or
George.
Tiffany Mason (01:21:58):
It could be Kate
and George, it can go either way
and then George.
Thank you, another great show.
We appreciate that, thanks.
Jay Franze (01:22:08):
George.
Tiffany Mason (01:22:11):
Very thankful
that you guys are here.

Jay Franze (01:22:13):

Well, we've done it Once again.
Look at this as I look at theclock and I say we reached the
top of the hour.
