A chance encounter at CMA Fest turns into show gold as Scarlett Jackson joins Jay Franze and Tiffany Mason to share her behind-the-scenes experience working the Shenandoah booth. What begins as friendly banter about Jay's "new best friend" evolves into a fascinating glimpse into Nashville's country music scene through the eyes of someone who bridges fan and industry perspectives.

Scarlett's Mississippi charm shines as she recounts meeting artists like Cole Goodwin, Jake Worthington, and Trey Calloway, offering listeners insider updates on upcoming singles and performances. The conversation naturally flows into deeper territory when the trio dives into the Recording Academy's decision to split country music Grammy categories into "traditional" and "contemporary." This sparks a thoughtful debate about what constitutes authentic country sound in today's evolving landscape, with everyone weighing in on which current artists are keeping traditional country alive.

Between updates on Lainey Wilson's Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit, Lauren Alaina's journey into motherhood, and Led Zeppelin's surprising new album announcement, the hosts pose their question of the day: "If your life had a soundtrack, what would the opening song be?" The responses—ranging from Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" to the Dixie Chicks' "Wide Open Spaces"—reveal the personalities behind the microphones and create an intimate connection with listeners who eagerly share their own selections.

The easy chemistry between Jay, Tiffany, and their guest makes for an entertaining, laughter-filled hour that feels like eavesdropping on friends catching up over coffee. Whether you're a die-hard country music fan curious about industry shifts or simply enjoy authentic conversations with heart and humor, this episode delivers both substance and joy in equal measure. Tune in for insights, updates, and a reminder of why country music's community spirit remains its greatest strength.

to CMA Fest so I've been to CMAFest quite a few times.

Scarlett Jackson (03:04):
but this year I was actually on the other side
of things.
I was working the Shenandoah, cumberland Road Trading Post
booth, so I got to be kind oflike the PR person for everybody
, you know, take the pictures, interact with them, keep the
line moving.

Jay Franze (03:20):
Sign their boobs.

Scarlett Jackson (03:21):
Yeah, sign your boobs moving.
Signed their boobs.
Yeah, it was an awesome timeand I just I'm very thankful for
the opportunity that I had todo that, because it opened some
doors.
Look, I met you.
I met Tiffany.
Life's great.

Jay Franze (03:36):
You can't get any better than that.

Scarlett Jackson (03:38):
That's right.

Jay Franze (03:39):
So did you have to stay in that booth the whole
time, or did you get a chance towalk around and enjoy some?

Scarlett Jackson (03:44):
of the festival.
No, I took a couple days andventured out and watched some
shows and saw some people that Iwanted to see.
I saw Cole Goodwin.
He's on the rise right now.
He actually just released hisnew single last Friday.
Girlfriend's got a boyfriendand it's awesome.
He's going to kill it.

(04:04):
Just be on the lookout.
I went and saw Jake Worthington.
He's releasing a new singletomorrow and it's called Not
Like I Used To, so go give thata listen.
It's really good.

Jay Franze (04:17):
Jason Hale, previous guest of the show, out playing
bass with Jake Worthington rightnow.

Scarlett Jackson (04:23):
Oh really.
Oh, that's neat.
Yeah, jake's gonna do bigthings too, I feel it.

Jay Franze (04:29):
Yeah, he's.
He's doing pretty good rightnow.
I saw him at the the festival.
I saw him at his booth.
We didn't go up and say helloor anything.
Pretty popular guy and heplayed over at the what was the
Dr Pepper stage.

Scarlett Jackson (04:41):
Dr Pepper stage.
He sure did, and Cole playedout at the Good Molecules stage
there in front of Bridgestone, which is kind of the bigger
stage.
Then I saw Ella Langley.
She's on fire right now.
Her and Tucker Whitmore were atthe Chevy Vibes Not Chevy Vibes
on the riverfront so it wasreally cool.
I got to see some people that Icame to town to see.

(05:02):
I met some new friends.
We had lots of great artistscome through our booth Davis,
luce, jordan Oaks, justinAndrews, riley Smith, of course,
shannon Doa.

Jay Franze (05:15):
The namesake Billie Jo Jones.

Scarlett Jackson (05:17):
Yeah, billie, jo, she came through.

Jay Franze (05:19):
Previous guest on the show.

Tiffany Mason (05:22):
I think I also saw you with Trey Calloway.

Scarlett Jackson (05:24):
Yes, Trey did come through and he's got a new
song that's coming out June the27th.
She Don't Break it, so that'sgoing to be a good one.

Jay Franze (05:33):
You're full of information.
Look at you go.
Trey, also a previous guest onthe show.
Really Nice.

Scarlett Jackson (05:40):
I met Trey this past week and I gave his
music a listen too and I waslike cool, this dude's going to
do big things too.

Tiffany Mason (05:49):
Now, how did you get that gig to be at the
Shenandoah Trading Post?

Scarlett Jackson (05:54):
So my friends Chris and Aaron.
They own a printing companycalled Gold Circle Printworks in
North Carolina and they are theofficial merch for Shenandoah
and so through that connectionis how I got that job.

Tiffany Mason (06:09):
Okay, I'm very grateful for that opportunity
yeah, now are you a singer or doyou do anything with country
music?

Scarlett Jackson (06:17):
no, I don't sing now.
Um, I would have loved to beena singer.
I wasn't blessed there and aperformer, but you know, um, no,
I'm not.
But I I have loved to have beena singer.
I wasn't blessed there and aperformer, but you know, no, I'm
not.
But I do want to song write.
That's a dream of mine, to be asong writer.
So maybe one day that door willopen up for me.
I would love to be in theindustry and have a job.

(06:38):
I used to think I wanted to bea tour manager.
Just to be inside the industrydoing something with music is my
dream job.

Jay Franze (06:46):
I was going to say PR because you were on top of it
.

Scarlett Jackson (06:48):
Yeah, you were .
Thank you, I appreciate that.

Jay Franze (06:52):
Very nice.
Well, let me ask you before weget too far off the path here
Okay, what was your favoritepart about the entire festival?
Think carefully.

Scarlett Jackson (07:02):
My favorite part about the entire festival
Jada, signing your shirt.
I mean it literally made mywhole entire week All right.

Jay Franze (07:14):
So is it fair to say you're my new best friend.

Scarlett Jackson (07:16):
I am your new best friend and I hope you don't
get rid of me anytime soon.

Jay Franze (07:23):
I don't know if that's going to be possible, get
rid of me anytime soon.

Tiffany Mason (07:30):
I don't know if that's gonna be possible.
I already knew that jay waslike super nice guy, right.
So we're standing there in linetrying to decide if we're gonna
go meet that lady that was upthere I can't remember who it
was right now sydney mack, yes, yes, yes, sydney mack, that's
right.
And so she was up there and itwas so funny when he turned to
you and was like yeah, I'm justgonna have her sign my shirt,
and I was like what?
And then all of a sudden, likeit was happening, and I was like

(07:52):
what?

Scarlett Jackson (07:52):
is happening right now yeah, in my mind I was
thinking no, I'm not the artist.
She's up there.
You know like you want me to gotake a picture and he was like
no, I won't, I want to take apicture with you?
and I was like, okay, cool, andthen he turned around and was
like sign my shirt.
And I was like me, like I don'thave anything to sign with, and
I was glad my kids were therebecause they had just, they had
literally just made it to townlike 30 minutes before that, so

(08:15):
they actually had just walkedthrough and grabbed them
something to eat and I was like, man, I wish my kids could see
this.
And here they come around thecorner.
I was like, look what I justdid like I'm kind of a big deal
and they were like can't tellmama anything right now, so yeah
, now, where is your cute littleaccent from?
Mississippi.

Tiffany Mason (08:33):
Mississippi.
Yeah, it's very sweet, thankyou.

Scarlett Jackson (08:37):
I get that a lot and I'm like, are y'all
making fun of me because?

Tiffany Mason (08:40):
no, oh my gosh, one of my favorite podcasts
she's not from.
She talks like that too, andshe talks like when she's
telling stories about her mamaand her babies, and I eat it up.

Scarlett Jackson (08:53):
I'd probably dress up a little bit better
that day.
Funny story the day before Ihad wore boots the whole day and
I said not tomorrow, nottomorrow, not doing it Because
Shannon Doe's line was reallylong.
I mean we had probably 300folks come through that line and

(09:18):
yeah.
So it was a long day, but itwas, it was a great day.

Tiffany Mason (09:23):
Is that the day that you made the TikTok with
your daughter and your husband?

Scarlett Jackson (09:26):
That was actually at the Dixie National
Rodeo back in February in.
Jackson yeah.
My daughter and I did make aTikTok, but I was thinking that
might have been what you weretalking about.
We made one there at the hotel.
She's trying to get me on theTikTok side of things.

Tiffany Mason (09:44):
Well, they were very cute.
I have to know how tall is yourhusband.

Scarlett Jackson (09:48):
Six foot three .

Jay Franze (09:50):
Yes, he is Seven two .

Scarlett Jackson (09:53):
Very tall.
That's funny.
For a little five, five, six, three is really tall.

Tiffany Mason (10:03):
Well, spotlight goes first to Lainey Wilson.
She is a superstar and thereigning ACM Entertainer of the
Year, and she is the subject ofthe new exhibit opening at the
Country Music Hall of Fame andMuseum in Nashville this summer,
right next to Music City Center.

(10:24):
Where we were correct, it isright next to music city center.

Jay Franze (10:25):
Where we were correct, it is right next door,
the building that has windowsthat look like a piano oh yes, I
remember you pointing that outthere you go, see that it's all
coming together now I actuallyvisited there this past week did
you oh?

Scarlett Jackson (10:40):
yeah, super nice, the um dolly parton
exhibit had just opened up.
It had been open for two weeks.
Super interesting.

Tiffany Mason (10:48):
What else was in there?
That was good.

Scarlett Jackson (10:50):
Of course my son was there for Taylor Swift.
All things Taylor Swift.

Jay Franze (10:55):
We're all Swifties here, don't worry.

Scarlett Jackson (10:57):
I love Taylor Swift, girl boss, you know.

Jay Franze (11:00):
That's boss with a W-S-E.

Tiffany Mason (11:02):
Yeah, I had to run that through the brain a
couple times with a P-O-S-S andI was like I don't know.
I mean, taylor kind of doeshave girl balls.

Scarlett Jackson (11:13):
So whatever, yeah, she does, but whatever
works, huh.
Slight difference.
They did have the big LukeHolmes exhibit open up.
It felt like a mile long, butto see all the cool things and
just to see where Luke hasstarted out and where he is now,
it was pretty cool.

Tiffany Mason (11:30):
Yeah, the evolution.

Jay Franze (11:32):
Did you see my exhibit?

Scarlett Jackson (11:33):
I did Nice and mine's going to be right there
next to it.

Tiffany Mason (11:39):
Someone who has a very large pay grade or has a
lot of money to spend.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Jay Franze (11:44):
What are we talking about?

Tiffany Mason (11:46):
Mr Jason Aldean.

Jay Franze (11:48):
Okay, please continue.
Scared me for a minute.

Tiffany Mason (11:54):
No, no, he just finished his tour and, as
gratitude for Corey Kent whoopened for him, he thought he'd
give him a nice fat gift, whichwas a big old, shiny Rolex.
So, reviewing this, I did ask, jay, when I'm getting my Rolex.

Jay Franze (12:11):
Yes, it's here.
I told you.
It's here waiting for you.
Oh, that's right, you did saythat it's here waiting for you,
but unfortunately you did notcome by to pick it up, so
therefore, it might have to goto somebody else.

Tiffany Mason (12:22):
Whoa whoa, scarlett hands off.

Scarlett Jackson (12:25):
Hey, hands off .

Tiffany Mason (12:26):
Hands off my Rolex, may the best girl win.
Nice, using those girl mouths.

Jay Franze (12:33):
I like this Kenny's in the house.

Tiffany Mason (12:37):
Ooh, yes, kenny, I was throwing shade.
Yes, yeah, I'm always throwingshade at Jay.
It must be cold where you are, jay.

Jay Franze (12:44):
It is.
That's why I'm wearing a hoodie.

Tiffany Mason (12:49):
Okay, well, next on the list is Lauren Alaina.
She became a mommy, so June11th she gave birth to her
daughter, benny Dahl Arnold, anddebuted her song Heaven Sent in
celebration.
Do you guys remember the crewlistening?
And set in celebration.
Do you guys remember the crewlistening when we talked about
Lauren Alina?
When she found out she waspregnant, she did the music
video and at the end was apicture of the sonogram.

(13:10):
So it's come full circle andthe baby is here and our little
Benny doll Arnold.

Scarlett Jackson (13:16):
So sweet.

Tiffany Mason (13:18):
I want to hear you say it, Scarlett.
I bet it's so cute.
Say the baby's name Benny dollArnold.

Scarlett Jackson (13:26):
Benny, so cute .
Say the baby's name Benny DollArnold.
Benny Doll Arnold, that's atongue twister man.
I've got to practice that twoor three times.

Tiffany Mason (13:32):
I didn't realize it was going to be a tongue
twister for you.
Sorry, I put you on the spot.

Jay Franze (13:37):
That typically happens to me.
I'm glad I'm sharing thattonight.
This was on June 11th that's mybrother's birthday.

Tiffany Mason (13:44):
Oh, my gosh Craig .

Jay Franze (13:47):
Yes, Craig.

Tiffany Mason (13:48):
Yeah, because I said, chris, when we were
talking in person, but Craig, Iknew it was 50-50 shot, remember
.

Jay Franze (13:55):
Craig and Chad, the two brothers, oh, chad, yeah.

Tiffany Mason (13:59):
Craig and Chris.
Craig and Chad, they knew whatI meant.

Scarlett Jackson (14:01):
Yeah, sure she was ready to have that baby.

Tiffany Mason (14:05):
She was ready to have that baby.
She was ready, she wasmiserable.

Jay Franze (14:09):
I think it's going to slow her down for a little
bit.

Tiffany Mason (14:12):
She had an amazing support system for
American Idol.
I have to assume that samesupport system is there for the
baby While Mama's traveling.
I'm sure Benny Dal Arnold willgo with her.
I can't do Arnold in a countryaccent.
Arnold, there we go.

Scarlett Jackson (14:30):
I think her getting pregnant was a really
good thing for her, you know, because she went through with
losing her dad and her and herdad were really close and as
someone who just lost my dad inthe past year, I know that's a
struggle.
And so then she, you know, justa few short months later she
finds out she's pregnant.
So I think it's really helpedher get through some some tough

(14:51):
times and she seems reallyexcited, so I'm happy for her.

Tiffany Mason (14:55):
You talk like you know her.

Scarlett Jackson (14:59):
I met her dad back when Lauren Alaina dated
John Crist.
That's a long story, but I hadsome VIPs for John and we were
backstage and here come Lauren'sdaddy walking through and I was
like, oh my God, that's Lauren.
I looked at my friend.
I was like, oh my gosh, it'sLauren Alaina's daddy.
And she's like how do you knowwho Lauren Alaina's daddy is?

(15:22):
And I was like I'm going up tohim and I'm going to ask him.
And I was like I'm going up tohim and I'm going to ask him.
And I walked up to him and Isaid hey, I said I got questions
.
You know, you probably don'tthink I'm crazy, but are you
Lauren Elena's daddy?
And he was like I am.
And I was like do you care ifwe get a picture Like I love
your daughter?
Like he was just down to earthand come to find out he only

(15:43):
lived 30 minutes down the roadfrom me.

Tiffany Mason (15:44):
So now you guys are like having beers on Fridays
.

Scarlett Jackson (15:48):
No, we didn't go that far, but it's really sad
, you know.

Tiffany Mason (15:52):
Yeah.

Scarlett Jackson (15:53):
He was a good guy and I always wonder why God
takes the good ones so young.

Jay Franze (15:57):
So yep Do you know how old he was.

Scarlett Jackson (16:04):
I want to say he was in his fift maybe 54.

Jay Franze (16:07):
Let's move on.
I can't hear that next okay.

Tiffany Mason (16:15):
Well, next, you know, there's all this
controversy with beyonce beingin the country scene and that
cowboy carter, one album of theyear, or whatever it was.

Jay Franze (16:25):
I thought we said we're not including her.

Tiffany Mason (16:28):
I know we're not, but the news story is Okay.
The Recording Academy willpresent two separate awards at
the 2026 Grammys BestTraditional Country Album and
Best Contemporary.
I said that weird ContemporaryCountry Album.

(16:51):
Traditional country album andbest contemporary.

Jay Franze (16:52):
I said that weird contemporary country album.
It's not that much class inthere.
This is what happens whenyou're riding the the golf cart
to the yacht.
Now you're pronouncing words, all funny it's the contemporary
country album that's funny.

Tiffany Mason (17:05):
Critics are arguing that it is in response
to Beyonce's Cowboy Carter win.
I kind of think that this isprobably a wise move, though,
because we're seeing all thecollaborations across genres,
and so I feel like that's kindof fair.
What do you think, jay?

Jay Franze (17:23):
I would agree with it.
I mean, I think, when you'redealing with, like you said, all
the collabs that are comingfrom the pop world, I think,
it's good to have a contemporarysection, but even you get your
Carrie Underwoods of the worldand stuff too that's pretty
contemporary.

Tiffany Mason (17:38):
Yeah, yeah, I would agree with that that's
true, yeah.

Jay Franze (17:41):
So who are we considering to be classic?

Tiffany Mason (17:44):
Whoa, I'm in the middle of a thought, jay.

Jay Franze (17:46):
Oh, anyways, and I saw the smoke too.

Tiffany Mason (17:49):
Yeah, so I think that now I lost my train of
thought, see.

Jay Franze (17:57):
Jay Tiffany Fired.

Tiffany Mason (18:00):
You're fired.
No.

Scarlett Jackson (18:06):
Who do you consider to be a traditional
artist?
Is that?

Jay Franze (18:08):
what you were asking .
Yes, that's what I was asking.

Scarlett Jackson (18:11):
That's a good question, gosh.

Tiffany Mason (18:17):
Sam Hunt.
He does that kind of rap thing, did you just say?

Jay Franze (18:21):
rap thing and you're going to say traditional
country.

Tiffany Mason (18:24):
Oh, I thought you said contemporary, sorry.

Jay Franze (18:27):
Oh gosh, Right now in traditional Tiffany, you're
fired Twice within a minute.

Scarlett Jackson (18:33):
Strike two, tiffany.
Strike two, you're out.

Jay Franze (18:41):
I mean when we say traditional country.
At this point I can think ofthe old school ones.

Scarlett Jackson (18:48):
Yes, me too.
There is an up-and-comingartist, mae Estes.
I feel like she's got a littletraditional sound.
I'm not so sure that she'sgoing to continue that
traditional sound throughout hermusic, but it would be nice to
get somebody I like Lainey, Ithink Lainey Wilson, I like
Lainey.

Tiffany Mason (19:04):
I like Lainey.
I think she has a prettytraditional twangy country sound
to her and.
I think also Ella Langley andMegan Maroney.
I know that Megan is younger, but I still think that she has
that more traditional sound.

Jay Franze (19:21):
Billy.
Joe Jones Got to shine a littlelight on Billy.
I think Trey Calloway too thatshe has that more traditional
sound.

Tiffany Mason (19:27):
Billy Joe Jones Got to shine a little light on
Billy.
I think Trey Calloway too.
I mean, I thought his musicsounded pretty traditional.

Scarlett Jackson (19:31):
Yeah, I like Trey's voice.

Tiffany Mason (19:33):
Yeah.

Scarlett Jackson (19:34):
Josh Weathers.
I feel like Josh Weathers iskind of traditional.
I really like him.

Jay Franze (19:39):
Who's the guy out now?
That sounds like 90s country.

Scarlett Jackson (19:42):
Oh, zach Toddp , yeah, oh God, don't get me
started on Zach.
I love me some Zach Topp and Ireally feel like country music
is in a good place right nowbecause I feel like we're
bringing back some of thetraditional music, and I feel
like Zach is bringing it backand Jake's following him, and
Cole Goodwin too, so I feel likeit's in good hands right now.

Tiffany Mason (20:04):
Okay, can I interrupt breaking news?
The thought just came back,okay.

Jay Franze (20:08):
I saw you writing something down you want to get
fired.

Tiffany Mason (20:11):
Don't talk, okay.
So I think the reason why thisis a good split is because we
have our country people who aretraditional and that's kind of
like the uh, try this in a smalltown or try that in a small
town, right.
Like they're very true to theircountry roots, ok.
And then we have the otherpeople that are like oh, I like
country, but I like it mixedwith whatever.

(20:32):
That solid core originalcountry group doesn't want the
Beyonce's, but like we're openminded, right, the three of us
will take everybody.
Well, we're not very openminded, you and I, jay I know we
kind of kicked Beyonce out, butthat was my thought process is
that like there's a section thatwill value having that
traditional still, and thenthere's another group that

(20:55):
doesn't give two craps if it'ssplit or not or whatever, but
anyways, wasn't that like worththe wait?
I?

Jay Franze (21:02):
think that gets you caught up to the rest of the
conversation.
Yeah, yes, I agree.
I mean I think there needs tobe that tradition of the George
Straits and the Garth Brooks andyou know or Tracy.
Lawrence, you know.

Scarlett Jackson (21:17):
Oh gosh, yes, love me some Tracy.

Tiffany Mason (21:21):
And Shenandoah.

Scarlett Jackson (21:23):
Of course, all-time favorite.
Yes, I mean Two Dozen Roses, that's a banger.
I mean, that is such a classicand it will never go out of
style.

Tiffany Mason (21:34):
Agreed, it'll never go out of style.

Scarlett Jackson (21:39):
Look at you throwing a little Taylor Swift
in there.

Tiffany Mason (21:43):
Yeah, that was for your son, okay look, she
already knows a little bit aboutme, that's great yeah she's a

Jay Franze (21:53):
stalker lover she stands on the curb and looks up
at your window girl, I'm all theway down in Florida.
Come on over.

Tiffany Mason (22:04):
Okay.
Well, luke Combs is now theonly artist with four
Diamond-certified country songs.
The hitmaker added she got thebest of me to his list.

Jay Franze (22:13):
At Bonnaroo last week, their certification comes
from RIAA, the group responsiblefor certifying songs as gold,
platinum, multi-platinum, etc.

Scarlett Jackson (22:28):
Didn't bonnaroo get canceled?
It did.
Well, I think the red claystrays were supposed to play or
something, and it got canceledyeah, did they cancel the whole
thing or did it go off for a dayor two?
You did go for a day or so andthen it got canceled.
The last couple days?

Jay Franze (22:42):
I'm not sure, but that would make sense.
In RIAA you saw a lot of gold, platinum, multi-platinum and
diamond albums when you were inNashville?

Tiffany Mason (22:54):
Yes, I did.

Jay Franze (22:55):
You got to walk through a museum.

Tiffany Mason (22:57):
I know, and y'all rushed me, I didn't rush you,
y'all just wanted to go havedinner.

Jay Franze (23:01):
Well, food is important.

Tiffany Mason (23:04):
We had starving teenage girls with us.
That's true.

Scarlett Jackson (23:07):
Yes, I did too .

Jay Franze (23:08):
Scarlett, did you meet the daughters?

Scarlett Jackson (23:10):
I didn't get to meet your daughters.
I saw them with y'all, I justdidn't get to meet them.
Would have loved to have metthem.

Tiffany Mason (23:17):
They were holding puppies almost the entire time.

Scarlett Jackson (23:19):
They were more concerned with the puppies and
then I had to work next to thelittle puppies and I was like I
just got to go sneak one littlepeek and my friend was like, oh,
they got dogs here.
And I was like, yeah, I mightend up taking one home.
But it didn't happen.
But they were some cute littleanimals.

Tiffany Mason (23:32):
Yeah, they were, they were.
My daughter was spitting, I wassmitten.

Jay Franze (23:43):
She was not spitting .
I've got too many buttons.
Should we try a different one?
No, not yet.
Okay, we'll hold off for alittle while.

Scarlett Jackson (23:48):
Be nice to me.

Jay Franze (23:50):
Greg said this isn't the best episode ever and Kenny
said he's got to agree withthat.

Tiffany Mason (23:55):
Oh, wow, Wow that's really sweet.
Some garlic fans.

Scarlett Jackson (24:02):
Get my own new fan club going here.

Jay Franze (24:05):
Leave the queen bee alone.

Tiffany Mason (24:07):
Yes, kenny's got my back.

Jay Franze (24:10):
No, he doesn't.
He's talking about Beyonce.

Tiffany Mason (24:13):
Oh, I think maybe .

Jay Franze (24:16):
No.

Tiffany Mason (24:17):
Beyonce here.
Kenny, sorry, I'm the queen bee.
Kenny, if you're going to bringup queen bee, it's me.

Jay Franze (24:20):
You're the queen bee of the show, for sure.

Tiffany Mason (24:24):
Until Scarlet knocks you off.
Okay, well, Willie Nelson isactually still touring you guys.

Jay Franze (24:33):
Is he 162?

Tiffany Mason (24:35):
He's close, 92.
You're off by 70.
Okay, but he recently resumedthe outlaw music you did math
quick too was it right, I didn'tuse my fingers

Tony Scott (24:49):
right yeah, 60 no 70 I I corrected myself, which
would make 162 for you oh happy.

Tiffany Mason (24:55):
Hey, I'm quick.
You've seen me act before.

Jay Franze (25:01):
Moving on.

Scarlett Jackson (25:03):
Next.

Tiffany Mason (25:04):
Okay, so the legend is still touring.
He recently resumed the OutlawMusic Festival with Bob Dylan,
released his 77th album oh whata Beautiful World, and is
gearing up for the 40th Farm Aidin Minneapolis.
So we used to live in Minnesotaand we would always hear when

(25:24):
the Farm Aid concert was goingto be Coming to town.

Jay Franze (25:29):
Dave Ray, miss Scarlet from the band Vaughn Ray
.
He was on the show a coupletimes, great guy, but he was on
the road touring with Creed andNickelback and he called his
father and said he just had theopportunity to smoke pot with
Willie Nelson.
He said that's his claim tofame and his dad says, well,
that's kind of like telling mehe had sex with a hooker.

Scarlett Jackson (25:50):
I've just died .
That's funny.

Jay Franze (25:53):
Dave, if you're out there tonight, chime on in.

Scarlett Jackson (25:56):
Speaking of Nickelback, I will be in Coleman
Alabama this weekend.
Shannon Doe is playing Rock theSouth and Nickelback will close
out the show.

Jay Franze (26:06):
Fun.
Are you taking me?
That's what best friends do.
Don't want that out there.

Scarlett Jackson (26:12):
I'll keep that in mind for the next one.

Jay Franze (26:15):
Yes, we got to see Nickelback last year when they
came through town.

Scarlett Jackson (26:20):
Cool, it'll be my first time, so I'm excited.

Jay Franze (26:23):
Very nice.
I would tell you the name ofthe guest that gave me the
tickets to go see him, but Idon't remember his name.
What's wrong?
He's the live sound engineerfor Nickelback.
I forgot his name.

Scarlett Jackson (26:35):
Oh, that's neat.

Tiffany Mason (26:38):
It'd be neater if he knew the name.

Jay Franze (26:55):
Yeah, if he could remember his name reverse name,
I mean I can look it up, but atthis point I've already screwed
it up.
Next, christian.
Thank you, this is too good.
Well glad somebody thinks so.
Question of the day if you hada soundtrack to your life, what
would the opening song be?
If you had a soundtrack to yourlife, what would the opening
song be?

believing I like it I have asecondary one too no, you only
asked for one song did I.
All right, I'll tell you whatI'll hear yours.
If yours is any good, I'll goback and come back with my

ladylike, but she says she's aladylike that'll bring you to

(29:02):
your knees.
She's a lady like smoking withher pack of cigarettes on the
dash.
Like not a ladylike prim andproper.

Jay Franze (29:11):

Tiffany Mason (29:14):

to the yacht, things mightchange oh.
Sorry, I missed it.

soundtrack to your life?

the soundtrack to my life.

Jay Franze (29:36):

Jay Franze (37:34):
It's a great song.
I like that song a lot.

Scarlett Jackson (37:36):
I heard that quite a few times growing up.

Jay Franze (37:37):
Now the question is do you like the Metallica

We know you do.
Miss Scarlett.
Do you like the Metallicaversion, miss Tiffany?

Jay Franze (38:10):
I ran out of buttons .

Tiffany Mason (38:11):
I'm sorry, kim says I'm in a hurry.
My ears are bleeding it'sstarting to do.
I love that song.
I sing that song.
I used to sing it a lot whenthe kids were little and we're
just constantly running fromthing to thing to thing and I
was like why do I do this tomyself?

Jay Franze (38:27):
Did you hear Kim's?

Tiffany Mason (38:29):
No, I was talking .

Jay Franze (38:31):
I know I'm sorry, I won't do it again.
Kim says I'm in a hurry.

Tiffany Mason (38:37):
That was the one.
Yes, I heard it, cause I justreplied.

Jay Franze (38:39):
Yes, I heard it because.
I just replied to it and Idon't know why I'm in a hurry.

Tiffany Mason (38:43):
Not Alabama, yeah .

Scarlett Jackson (38:45):
Rushing, rushing till life's no fun.

Jay Franze (38:48):
It says Alabama right there and I didn't even
see it.
That was a good song.

Tiffany Mason (38:52):
That was a good group.

Jay Franze (38:54):
Yeah.

Tiffany Mason (38:55):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (38:56):
Michael says one of those things, Limp Bizkit, Is
that the song where he talksabout breaking stuff?
Michael chime in and tell us,is that the song where he talks
about breaking stuff?
Carol says A Whiter Shade ofPale.
I played that in like the firstband I was in.

Tiffany Mason (39:15):
Is it difficult to play?

Jay Franze (39:17):
It was for me.
I am not that good.
I mean that was a good band.
That band was probably above mypay grade.
Mark says I have the tiger.
No, not long-haired Mark.
But Mark with a C says I havethe tiger.

Tiffany Mason (39:36):
I interviewed a person about that song and he
explains when he first heard thesong he was like in
kindergarten and he had like, uh, you know it was in the the 70s
or whatever late 70s probablyand he had like the mushroom
haircut because he was little,he was like six, he was in
kindergarten five for eye of thetiger.

Jay Franze (39:59):
Yes, not the 70s.
No why?

Tiffany Mason (40:01):
when did it come out?
80s okay, well, 80s, he was inthe 80s, like I said, anyway.
So he had these big glasses on,nope, nope, he had these big
glasses on really thick lens, so, you know, probably a little
dorky looking, you know.
And he said he was sittingthere and they were waiting for
a pep rally and he heard eye ofthe tiger come on and somehow he

(40:23):
just knew everything was goingto be okay.
He stood up, he whipped off hisglasses and he just started
dancing eye of the tiger.
It's such a great visual thatjust this little kid just
jamming out eye of the tiger, that's a great song it is a
great song it came out the sametime as jack and diane and

Jay Franze (40:43):
my family went on vacation to beach in new
hampshire and we were walking upand down the strip and that's
all you heard is those two songs, over and over and over.
But that song was written forthe movie rocky.
It was written for rockybecause they already had a song
in mind and they were unable touse it.
I don't remember which song itwas, but they were unable to use
it.
I don't remember which song itwas, but they were unable to use

(41:04):
it.
So they needed a song lastminute and they asked this band
to write it, and they didn'twant to write it.

Tiffany Mason (41:09):
Good thing they did.

Jay Franze (41:10):
They threw it together last minute, threw it
together last minute, just wentin and recorded it real quick
and it turned out to be a megahit Band.
Survivor.
Wow, all right.

Tiffany Mason (41:20):
Should we?

Jay Franze (41:20):
start wrapping it up here.

Tiffany Mason (41:23):
Start censoring.

Jay Franze (41:24):
I'm going to censor and I see my ending point, I see
it clear right there.
And it's Michael.
He's here every week, so we'llgo with it.
All right First of all.
Gerald says time in a bottle, jim Croce.

Tiffany Mason (41:41):
Time in a bottle.

Jay Franze (41:51):
I don't know.
I think we could put an end tothat.
Let's see.
John says something like SticksGrand Illusion.
I like Sticks Dave Ray.
We'll use his last name.

Tiffany Mason (42:06):
Hey.

Jay Franze (42:07):
Because he was a previous guest on the show that
smoked pot with Willie NelsonSimilar to having sex with a
hooker.
He says it would have to bejust like this show.
The theme to Benny Hill.
What have you ever seen, BennyHill?
What have you ever seen, BennyHill?

Tiffany Mason (42:26):
No.

Jay Franze (42:26):
No.

Scarlett Jackson (42:29):
No, me neither .

Jay Franze (42:30):
No, seriously I haven't.
Okay, remind me at the end andI'll find some video or
something to play.
Benny Hill was hilarious.
It was an old British comedythat used to get away with
things that you probablyshouldn't get away with on TV.
All right, here's the ending, ending with Michael.

(42:52):
He says Escape by Journey.

Tiffany Mason (42:56):
Oh, I see why you had that be the ending, but I'm
going to pull rank and I'mgoing to put one more song on
the list and it would be for meand it would be.
A star is born.

Jay Franze (43:09):
You know what that makes sense?
It really does.

Tiffany Mason (43:14):
I thought so too, and I was trying to look for a
Christmas song, and I think thatthat can be a Christmas song
Sometimes, I don't know, becausemy birthday is December 24th.
So I was thinking oh littlechild of Bethlehem.
But it's oh little town ofBethlehem, town of Bethlehem,
yeah, yeah.

Jay Franze (43:31):
We'll let Jesus fire you on that one.

Tiffany Mason (43:36):
I have to add two more.

Scarlett Jackson (43:39):
Plus.

Jay Franze (43:39):
Scarlett, you said you were supposed to be thinking
.
Did you think of?

Scarlett Jackson (43:41):
one.

Jay Franze (43:41):
Oh, I know, but there's so many, we'll do two
more and then yours Prepareyourself.
Christopher says Whiskey andWhitley Josh Ward.

Scarlett Jackson (43:56):
Oh yeah, that's an awesome song.

Jay Franze (43:58):
All right, Christopher, you got Scarlett's
attention.
And then Greg says great songchoice, Christopher, that's
awesome.
You've got a few people youknow liking that one as well,
miss Scarlett.

Scarlett Jackson (44:12):
Put a bow on it, girl.
I'm not sure I mean I like that.
I think that Kelly Clarksonsong what Doesn't Kill you Makes
you Stronger.

Jay Franze (44:20):
There you go.

Scarlett Jackson (44:21):
Really would speak for my life.

Tiffany Mason (44:22):
Perfect, all right.
Well, led Zeppelin is who we'regoing to talk about.
They have revealed plans torelease a new album before the
end of 2025, marking their firstsince 1982's CODA.
The album is tentatively goingto be titled Echoes of Time and
is set to feature iconic trio ofJimmy Page, robert Plant, john

(44:45):
Paul Jones, with Jason Bonham, the son of the late John Bonham,
stepping in on drums.

Scarlett Jackson (44:52):
Fun fact here.
So like I was supposed to benamed Jimmy Page, but I come out
a girl and not a boy.
Oh dang yeah, my dad wasobsessed with him Scarlet Page.

Jay Franze (45:04):
It makes more sense now Wow.

Tiffany Mason (45:09):
You should have picked a Led Zeppelin song.

Scarlett Jackson (45:11):
Yeah, I should have.

Jay Franze (45:13):
Zeppelin.
You know that was one of thefirst bands, one of the first
records I ever got.
Do you remember the two peoplethat were making fun of me with
Journey and Olivia Newton-John?
Yeah, one of them was PaulPaul's house burnt down or part
of his house burnt down, and hegave me his Led Zeppelin
collection when I was a youngin'.

Tiffany Mason (45:30):
Oh my gosh Wow.

Jay Franze (45:31):
So that's how I got into Led Zeppelin.

Tiffany Mason (45:33):
At least his Led Zeppelin collection didn't burn.
Yeah Well, it was a littlewarped but it worked, not too
soon.

Jay Franze (45:40):
This was back in 1982, probably.
Oh Anyway, chris Franz was onthe show.
Chris Franz out with JasonBonham right now.
When they came through townhere what was it?
Last year, maybe I had a chanceto go see them perform and we
were backstage eating and JasonBonham came in the room and sat

(46:00):
down next to me and was tellingme about his grandkid that was
just born.
It was pretty cool.
His grandkid was born roughlythe same time as Valen, my
youngest daughter.
There you go.

Tiffany Mason (46:12):
Wow.

Jay Franze (46:13):
Tying it all together.
I remember that night becauseit was the night after
Thanksgiving and they still hada whole slew of pies left and
that's all I ate that night waspies.
I had the best food.

Tiffany Mason (46:26):
Okay, really quick roundtable Favorite pie Go
Jay.

Jay Franze (46:29):
Apple.

Tiffany Mason (46:30):
Scarlet.
Favorite pie Go Jay AppleScarlet.

Jay Franze (46:34):
Keylam oh, I'm a pumpkin.

Scarlett Jackson (46:34):
She's got a little bit of spice to her Gotta
keep it a little spicy.

Tiffany Mason (46:40):
I don't know.
I'd say a little tart.
Yeah, just call her a littletart.
She's a little tart.
That's not nice.
Scarlet's a little tangy.
She's a guest here.
She's a little tart that's notnice A little tangy.
She's a guest here.

Jay Franze (46:52):
She's a tangy tart.
Yeah, we're taking, a leftwe're taking a left I could eat
the whole.

Scarlett Jackson (46:55):
Thing.

Tiffany Mason (46:57):
I could eat a whole pumpkin pie.
I feel that, although, do youknow, I always scoop the filling
off the crust, I don't eat thecrust.

Scarlett Jackson (47:03):
What the crust is the best part.

Tiffany Mason (47:05):
On a key lime for sure, but on a pumpkin eh, the
crust for everything for me.
It's a mere holder of the goodstuff.
It's just so good.

Jay Franze (47:15):
Coconut cream is good too.

Tiffany Mason (47:17):
I like a coconut cream, I won't spit it out.
I won't spit out a key lime pie, so we could all have pie,
although y'all aren't saying youlike pumpkin, so I can have
your pie.
Okay, nope, nope, pumpkin, so Ican have your pie.
Okay, nope, nope.
I'm not finishing that sentence.
Anyways, earthly ario speedwagon vocalist terry luttrell
was involved in a scaryautomobile accident after

(47:38):
participating in a weekendreunion show at the venue
operated by the university ofillinois in champaign, illinois,
where the band got their start.
That is very scary.

Jay Franze (47:50):
Terry is like early days of REO Speed Volume, but
sad nonetheless.

Tiffany Mason (47:57):
I feel like they were just in one of our news
headlines, but I can't rememberwhy.

Jay Franze (48:00):
Yeah, they were.
Did you catch his age by anychance?

Tiffany Mason (48:05):
No.

Jay Franze (48:07):
Yep, I was just going to say, just Google that.

Tiffany Mason (48:11):
I can look that up, Jay.

Jay Franze (48:13):
Alexa, how old is Terry Littrell from REO
Speedwagon?

Tiffany Mason (48:20):
78.
Terry.

Scarlett Jackson (48:21):
Littrell is 78 years old and was born on
January 1st 1947.

Jay Franze (48:27):
Thank you, sweetheart.
She doesn't respond to that.
At least my phone responds tothat.

Tiffany Mason (48:35):
I said something to her the other day in my car
and she responded and I was likeI was not expecting her to
reply.

Jay Franze (48:42):
I wonder if Bob worked with him.
Bob worked on the REOSpeedwagon records back in the
day and I don't know if heworked with him or the other
singer if it wasn't so late wecould text him and ask him, but
it's kind of late be fair, he'dprobably answer oh, is he an
idol I don't know.
He texts me all hours of thenight.

Tiffany Mason (49:00):
Oh okay.
Well, nancy wilson, from heart, says the Trump administration
was not given permission to playone of their songs at the US
Army's 250th anniversary paradeon Saturday.

Jay Franze (49:17):
Ooh Barracuda.

Tiffany Mason (49:20):
In all fairness.
I mean, they defended ourcountry so you should be able to
play anything anywhere foranybody in the Army.
That's me pulling rank.

Jay Franze (49:30):
You shouldn't have to get permission from the
artist to play their song.

Scarlett Jackson (49:34):
I totally agree.

Jay Franze (49:36):
I mean it's not like you're saying that the artist
is supporting you.

Tiffany Mason (49:39):
Right, I think I would just be honored that they
chose my song to play my song.

Jay Franze (49:45):
You are new here.
What we do is, at this point inthe show, we go ahead and talk
about a song that we'verecommended last week and then
we throw out another one we'regoing to recommend this week.
Last week I brought up the bandHalocene, because the week
before I threw out a band calledno Apology and we wanted to go
ahead and discuss themIndependent artists out of the
Ukraine.
This week we're throwing outHalocene, an artist originally

(50:09):
from Arizona I think they're nowin Tennessee and then next week
we'll go ahead and tie it alltogether with the collaboration
that the two did together.
But, miss Tiffany Halocene, what do you?

Tiffany Mason (50:21):
think that's my name.
Don't wear it out.
Don't try to buy it at Target, because it's all sold out.
What other?

Jay Franze (50:30):
buttons do we have over here?
If these buttons were labeled,I'd be hitting them like a
madman today.

Tiffany Mason (50:38):
Yeah, no, I checked them out.
I do love that you have pointedout that all their videos are
done in their house, which ispretty impressive.
I listened to I don't know fiveor six of their songs and
actually I really liked one bythe Guy.
Regardless, I liked his voiceand I was more appreciative or

(50:58):
more aware of the cleanliness ofthe music and the voices and
all the you know.
It's a cleaner sound and so Iliked it.

Jay Franze (51:07):
To me when I listen to Halocene.
I think they are.
You know, they're polished.
I think they are you know?
They're polished, I mean, butthey're very talented, and it's
not just the talents musically, like I said, it's production
wise.
It's everything that they do toput their music out there.
They do these live streams thatgo on for hours.
They'll just continue playingsongs, just as much as people
want to hear them.
You know, just keep throwingthem a few shekels here or there

(51:29):
and they just keep playing, andplaying, and playing.
But what I like is whensomebody requests a song that
they don't know, they just goahead and mute the microphones
for a minute, learn it in asecond or two and then play it.

Tiffany Mason (51:41):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (51:42):
It's pretty talented when a band can do stuff like
that.

Tiffany Mason (51:45):
It makes me think of I don't know what y'all call
it, but it makes me think ofthe yellow pages of the artists,
the on-call people, the union, the union.

Jay Franze (51:54):
The musicians union.

Tiffany Mason (51:56):
The musicians union?
Yeah, they could be part of it.
It still blows my mind and Iknow that you say that, like you
know, there's only so manyscales or so many chords or
whatever, but it still isimpressive to me to just be able
to pick it up and fit in.

Jay Franze (52:10):
All right, miss Scarlet, you're going to have to
go back and listen to Hallucine, okay, so that way you can give
your feedback next time.
But they do a collaboration andit's a cover tune.
They've done a handful ofcollaborations, but they do a
cover tune of Kickstart my Heartby Motley Crue.
So check it out, join us nextweek.

(52:31):
We'll go ahead and we'lldiscuss that one as well.

Scarlett Jackson (52:34):
Hey.
I'm getting a welcome back.

Jay Franze (52:39):
We didn't necessarily say you Do.
I have a button for you yet no,okay, bill Mayer Mar, is that?

Tiffany Mason (52:46):
right Mar Damn iter Mar Go there.
Right Mar Damn it, Bill Mar.

Jay Franze (52:53):
You would think you would learn that one by now.

Scarlett Jackson (52:56):
I almost asked you you like comedy?

Tiffany Mason (52:58):
No, I got it.

Scarlett Jackson (52:59):
I do like some comedy.
I recently got into some of it.

Jay Franze (53:03):
I would say comedy and country music go hand in
hand.

Scarlett Jackson (53:07):
Yeah.
I think so too.

Jay Franze (53:09):
I don't think Bill Mar goes hand in hand with
country music.
Go hand in hand?
Yeah, I think so too.
I don't think Bill Maher goeshand in hand with country music.

Scarlett Jackson (53:13):
Maybe Clayton St Judd he's over there.

Jay Franze (53:17):
I think Bill Maher's over there with Beyonce.

Scarlett Jackson (53:21):
He's left field.

Jay Franze (53:23):
There you go, she's joining us already.
Miss Tiffany.

Tiffany Mason (53:27):
Alright.

Jay Franze (53:28):
Bill Maher.

Tiffany Mason (53:29):
Well, you guys will be happy then.
He has planned to retire fromstand-up after taping his 13th
HBO special later this year.
The comedian, who is 68, willcontinue to host his political
talk show Real Time with Billand his podcast Call of Brandon.
Bill who, maher.

Jay Franze (53:49):
Maher, there you go.

Tiffany Mason (53:53):
So I didn't realize he had a podcast.
But that doesn't really shockme either.
I feel like all the major newsanchors have a podcast.
It seems like.

Jay Franze (54:00):
Scarlett, are you familiar with this podcast?

Scarlett Jackson (54:02):
I'm not.

Jay Franze (54:04):
It's called Club Random and it's filmed out of
his house.
It's actually his guest house.

Tiffany Mason (54:09):
That's where.
I am my guest house.

Jay Franze (54:11):
You choose Scarlett, it doesn't surprise me, she's
in her guest house too.
But yeah, so he bought thishouse.
I forget what celebrity hebought it from, but whoever it
was had this guest house, andthey had a nightclub built into
their guest house.
So Bill Maher kept thenightclub, so that's why it's

(54:31):
called Club Random.
But he's turned it into hispodcast studio.
He interviews all thesecelebrities, but he sits there
and drinks and smokes pot theentire time.

Tiffany Mason (54:41):
How does he keep his political show?

Jay Franze (54:44):
I have no idea.

Tiffany Mason (54:46):
Scandalous yeah.

Jay Franze (54:48):
Mike Tyson gets on there and smokes pot with them.
Not everybody smokes pot withthem, but they'll sit there
while he does.
It strikes me as odd.
It's a very odd thing.
Sometimes I don't think heknows how to read the room.
Sometimes he makes people feela little uncomfortable.
All right, sorry.

Tiffany Mason (55:09):
Okay.
Well, some comedians havecelebrated the news that the
Golden Globe Awards willintroduce the category for Best
Stand-Up Comedy Performance.
Earlier this week, it wasannounced that the annual awards
will introduce two newcategories for the lineup for
its forthcoming January ceremony, nice.
So why does it say two newcategories in the lineup, but

(55:34):
we're only talking about one.
I wonder what the other one is.

Jay Franze (55:37):
I don't know.
But I am a fan that we'readding stand-up comedy to it.
I think it deserves to have itsown category.
It is a big piece ofentertainment television and
specials and all that stuffthese days.
I've been watching so muchlately.
It's ridiculous.
Ms Scarlett, you said youstarted watching some comedians.

(55:57):
Anybody that we would know?

Scarlett Jackson (56:00):
Well, john Chris, I mean, I like John Chris
.
Liam Morgan, danae Hayes oh myGod, have you heard of Danae
Hayes?

Tiffany Mason (56:12):
How are you hearing of them?
Yes, TikTok.

Scarlett Jackson (56:16):
Oh, I've become familiar with her on
TikTok and, if I'm not mistaken, she used to play baseball I
mean softball at the Universityof Alabama.
She's really crazy.
Yeah, I love her.

Tiffany Mason (56:28):
Cool, check her out.

Scarlett Jackson (56:29):
You'll have to do that.
Actually, my friend bought ustickets to go watch her upcoming
show that she's going to bedoing, and so I'm excited.
How do you spell Hayes?
H-a-y-e-s?
I think it's how she spellshers.

Tiffany Mason (56:44):
That's how I was going to spell it, perfect.

Jay Franze (56:47):
I thought that was me for a second.
I'm like huh, I was going tomake sure I gave you the right
spelling.
I was about to get your firebutton ready.

Scarlett Jackson (56:56):
Well, if you can't find her, denae Hayes if
it's not spelled like that, butI think it's spelled like that.
I was going to look her up foryou, make sure I gave you the
correct spelling, but instead Igave you two dozen roses.

Tiffany Mason (57:10):
It's appropriate right.
It ties into the evening.
Okay, Are you ready for thenext one?

Jay Franze (57:15):
Wait, no, no, Greg says Shenandoah and Cletus T
Tying country music and comedytogether.

Tiffany Mason (57:23):
Hand in hand.

Jay Franze (57:24):
It's always gone together and comedians have
always gone out on the road andopened up for music acts I would
die to go to a concert and havea comedian open up for them.

Tiffany Mason (57:34):
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about even when we
mc stuff.

Jay Franze (57:42):
That's what we do too.
Is you?
You do like a five minute setwhen you're right, okay, well,
louis, ck my just the name alone.
Let's pause for the name.
Let's let it sit scarlet, doyou know?
Louis ck I don't.
I'm learning a lot you'relearning a lot today.

(58:02):
Anyways, sorry, louis ck, hetells stories.
He tells a lot of stories inhis humor.
It's not just like punchlinejokes.

Tiffany Mason (58:11):
I love when a comedian can do like their whole
hour set and you know theybuild this story and they tell
little side stories and all of asudden, like one of the last
things that they say ties intothe first and I'm like, oh yes,
oh God, that is my yes, oh God,that is my favorite style.

Jay Franze (58:32):
Yes, I agree with you 100%.

Tiffany Mason (58:34):
Yeah, yeah, clever talent.
Okay.
Well, I guess he used to have atradition to ask people to have
him be inappropriate.
They would agree.
Then they would get mad aboutit.

Jay Franze (58:46):
So Can't just throw it out there just like that.
But yes, he got in a little bitof a scandal a little while
back and he was canceled becausehe asked a couple people that
were working for him if theywould mind if he exposed himself
and then touched it for alittle while, and they said it

(59:09):
was okay but then it wasn't andthen turned around and all a
bunch of them got together andcomplained about it and then he
ended up getting killed.
He didn't get in trouble overbecause they said it was okay,
but so now he's making jokesabout his junk you would think,
once you get in a scandal likethat, you would lay off the junk

(59:30):
jokes.

Tiffany Mason (59:31):
Yeah, no, no, he's going for it.
So he, the disgraced comedian, performed A night of stand up at
the Hulu Theater in MadisonSquare Gardens, nice.

Jay Franze (59:46):
I still like Louis CK.
I just I don't need to see hisjunk leave your junk jokes at
home leave your junk at home.
Well, that shit comes with yougrew up together, went through a
lot of hard times and we'releft.

(01:00:09):
That's pretty much.
That's right way low all right, bring it back.
What's going on this week?
Miss tiffany, do you have anyexciting news that we could
share?

Tiffany Mason (01:00:21):
that might not get us canceled well tomorrow.
Actually I'm really excited.
Um, I have a new episode comingout Finally.
It's been forever, darylStevens.
He actually started Bass Parlorapp.
I think I shared that with youmany moons ago and we talked
about a song by Curtis Mayfieldcalled Give Me your Love, and

(01:00:47):
really he has kind of a coolstory how he went to DC.
He started this thing withcollaborating with other
musicians, kind of in thehip-hop rap scene, and then he
thought he was going to bedrafted in baseball and he
wasn't.
So then he actually moved downto florida and went to full sail
, learned how to be a audioengineer, everything that goes
along with it he really producesmostly.
So then then he went to Atlantaand tried to start up the

(01:01:09):
collaborations again.
Then COVID hit and then hebasically developed this app
that helps people to collaborate.
But also, you know like themusic industry is we've talked
about it before where it'sbecoming more and more difficult
to make money off of just yourmusic.
So this was a way for them.
You know, like you, jay, couldeven go on there and host an

(01:01:32):
engineering class Me, you, theJay, franci, could go on there,
yeah, and you can make moneydoing that.
But he just he had a cool voicein general so he was just fun
to talk to but good storytellerand it was interesting to learn
about the Curtisis mayfield songand all the things I went with

(01:01:52):
it.
So that comes out tomorrow allright, anything else there, miss
tiffany yeah, no, I have kindof a boring weekend for the
first time in a long time and Iam here for it.
I want to go to the pool, Iwant to go to the pool.
I want to go to the pool.
I want to go to the pool.
I want to go to the pool, jay.

Jay Franze (01:02:11):
So hopefully this is my weekend.
Take the golf cart down to theyacht.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:14):
Oh, I will.
I'll take the golf cart to thepool, don't you worry.

Scarlett Jackson (01:02:18):
Well, think of me while you're there.
Nice.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:20):
Okay, will do.

Jay Franze (01:02:22):
Unlike yourself, Miss Tiffany, I have a very busy
weekend.
I will be going north for theweekend.
Busy weekend.
I will be going north for theweekend.
My daughter has her nationalsdance competition.
It's a week long event Week long.
I will be gone for a week, which reminds me we will not be

(01:02:45):
live next week.
We will not be live unlessScarlett wants to come on here
and just host a show by herself.
We will not be live next week.
We will not be live unlessScarlett wants to come on here
and just post a show by herself.

Scarlett Jackson (01:02:51):
Hey Tiffany.

Jay Franze (01:02:53):
We will not be live next week.

Scarlett Jackson (01:02:55):
We can kick Jay out.

Jay Franze (01:02:56):
There you go.

Tiffany Mason (01:02:58):
And she said she was my new best friend.

Jay Franze (01:03:00):
I'm just saying.

Tiffany Mason (01:03:02):
That's what happens when you switch like
that.

Jay Franze (01:03:08):
Oh, I'm sorry.
Yes, dance competition, so Iwill be.
Yes, dance competition, so Iwill be doing that.
So that will be my excitementfor the week.
I don't know what I'm going todo without editing or recording
or doing something this week.

Tiffany Mason (01:03:21):
Blowing up my phone?
Possibly Not after tonight.

Jay Franze (01:03:25):
I don't know if I want to hear anymore.

Tiffany Mason (01:03:30):
It blows my mind when they have these
competitions that are like.
You know, hannah had acompetition where she competed
on a Sunday night at like 8 pm.
Like who are these people thatare organizing these
competitions and why would youchoose a whole week?
Like, people have lives andthat costs money.

Jay Franze (01:03:47):
You know, the parents work.

Tiffany Mason (01:03:49):
I know it just blows my mind.

Jay Franze (01:03:52):
Yeah, you and me both.
Yeah, my wife doesn't seem tocare.
We're going one way or another.
We're turning that into ourfamily vacation.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:00):
Well, it'll be fun yeah.

Jay Franze (01:04:02):
That's what she tells me.
Miss Scarlett, do you haveanything exciting going on this
week?

Scarlett Jackson (01:04:09):
I'll be in Coleman for Rock the South this
weekend.
Oh yeah, that's right.

Jay Franze (01:04:14):
You were going to take me with you to go see
Nickelback, but I had to go outof town, so we weren't able to
make it happen this time.

Scarlett Jackson (01:04:20):
So I offered to take you to the next one.

Jay Franze (01:04:22):
So yeah, so next time.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:25):
That makes sense.
Now, how long of a drive isthat for you, scarlett?
It's sense.
Now, how long of a drive isthat for you, scarlet?
Um, it's about four and a halfhours.
Oh god, yeah, something I woulddo.
Miss tiffany doesn't like it.
Well, you know, what's funnyabout all of it is that, like
I'm from iowa scarlet didn'tknow that, probably and in the
midwest we all are like, oh, youjust drive that.
Oh, you just drive that, youjust drive everywhere, like

(01:04:46):
that's what you do, and becauseyou're close to like a lot of
stuff right Within like six oreight hours, I would drive
anywhere.
But I think it's funny, downhere there is a Facebook group
for people from the Midwest andit's like, you know, you're from
the Midwest, you see that it'seight hours and you're like we
can drive that.
It's funny that you say that, jay, because I really am all

(01:05:07):
about a great car ride.

Scarlett Jackson (01:05:09):
I love a great car ride.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:11):
Yeah, well, my great car ride up to Nashville
was 11 hours, and if I drove toJay's, I think it's like 12 or
13.

Jay Franze (01:05:21):
Yeah, it's 12.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:23):
But it's really 13 once you stop, oh yeah.

Jay Franze (01:05:25):
You stop at Buc-ee's 16 times and I got to.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:28):
I got to oh you, you stop at Buc-ee's 16 times.
And I got to.

Jay Franze (01:05:30):
I got to oh, you can't be at Buc-ee's, I know you
can't I stopped at Buc-ee's onthe way to Tennessee and I
thought my daughter would behappy.
She wasn't.
She was not happy.
What?
It was too much stimulation forher.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:43):
I had a friend post the same thing that she
went to Bucky's and she was likeI couldn't get out of there
fast enough and I was like youdragged me in there.
She said it's too bright.

Jay Franze (01:05:51):
All the smells, too many people, all the things
going on.
She's like I'm ready to get outof here.
I'm like would you rather justgo to McDonald's?
She's like yes, so we drovenext door to McDonald's so I
said all right, what do you want?
She goes, you know, just aburger and fries or whatever.
I'm like it's breakfast.
She goes.
Oh well, then I don't needanything.

(01:06:11):
I'm like you son of a.
She goes, fine, I'll get someJust order me a hash brown.

Scarlett Jackson (01:06:21):
Just order me a hash brown.
That's funny.
How old is she?

Jay Franze (01:06:28):
She's 15.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:30):
All right, Miss Tiffany, anything else you got
for me tonight?
Nope, Anything else you got forme tonight.

Jay Franze (01:06:37):
Jay God.
No, Miss Scarlett, you gotanything left for us?

Scarlett Jackson (01:06:41):
I just want to thank you for the opportunity
to come on here with you guys.
It's an honor and I'm verygrateful.
I've had fun, it's been fun, ithas been fun.

Jay Franze (01:06:52):
For now, folks, we have done it.
We've reached the top of thehour the bottom of the hour in
this case which does mean wehave reached the end of the show
.
If you've enjoyed the show, please tell a friend and Miss
Tiffany, if you have not.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:04):
Tell two.

Jay Franze (01:07:05):
