Ever wonder which album you'd bring if stranded on a desert island forever? In this captivating episode of The Jay Franze Show, Jay and Tiffany dive deep into this musical thought experiment, revealing not just their own picks but fielding an avalanche of passionate responses from listeners. Journey's "Escape," Madonna's "Like a Prayer," and multiple Taylor Swift albums (always specified as "Taylor's Version" by dedicated Swifties) emerge as favorites, sparking lively debate about which records truly stand the test of time.

The music industry headlines this week bring fascinating developments across genres. Diamond Dave himself, David Lee Roth, is set to perform at an intimate outdoor venue in Cincinnati, while Steve Perry and Willie Nelson are collaborating on a reimagined version of Journey's "Faithfully" for charity. Health concerns take center stage as Alice in Chains cancels their upcoming tour due to drummer Sean Kinney's medical emergency, reminding us that even legendary performers face human limitations.

Perhaps most revealing is the conversation around artists' changing relationships with record labels. When discussing Maren Morris clarifying she's not leaving country music despite criticizing the industry's "toxic environment," Jay observes that "a label is nothing more than a bank – if you don't need the bank, what's the point of having the record deal?" Tiffany adds how social media has revolutionized artist discovery, allowing musicians to build audiences without traditional industry gatekeepers. This insider perspective on how technology is reshaping music careers offers listeners rare insight into the business behind the artistry.

The chemistry between Jay and Tiffany creates that perfect podcast alchemy – knowledgeable enough to educate, conversational enough to feel like you're hanging out with music-obsessed friends. Whether you're curious about Oasis's final reunion tour, Nothing More's chart success, or simply want to hear which albums would make the ultimate desert island soundtrack, this episode delivers the perfect blend of industry news and musical soul-searching.

What album would accompany you for eternity? Join the conversation at jayfranze.com and let us know your desert island pick!

All right, my friend, let's getit out of the way.

(01:15):
Let's talk about the questionof the day.
Question of the day what isyour Desert Island album?
What is your Desert islandalbum?
What is your desert islandalbum?
Put your comments in thecomment section and we'll get to
them a little later in the showI know that we're going for
music, but I feel like it shouldbe mixtape.

Tiffany Mason (01:37):
You know, like I know, we have to pick an album
for sake of like, conversationand everything, but a mixtape
would have been more fun.
Maybe, through everybody'ssuggestion, we make up a mixtape
like a playlist on everybody's.
All right, we'll create aplaylist yes, it is it is the
thing to do these days that'sright, although could you take a

(01:59):
playlist to a deserted island?
No, so, maybe we got to doalbum dessert, but then who's
got a deserted island?

Jay Franze (02:03):
No so maybe we got to do album A dessert island.

Tiffany Mason (02:04):
But then who's got a dessert island?
But then who?

Jay Franze (02:07):
has Strawberry shortcake island.

Tiffany Mason (02:10):
Who has a record player?
On these islands anyway, no.

Jay Franze (02:15):
All right Today, my friend.
Our episode released from lastweek with Mr.
Mark long-haired Mark and wetalked about David Lee Roth.
I just wanted to bring thatback up again a little bit of a
follow-up, as we will call it,because I'm now going to see Mr
Roth, diamond, dave himselfperform in Cincinnati, at the

(02:38):
Hard Rock Cafe.

Tiffany Mason (02:41):
You got cold hard tickets in hash In hand.

Jay Franze (02:44):
I mean Cold hard tickets in hash in in hand, I
mean cold hard tickets and I'manxious to see it because this
is a small, intimate outdoorvenue that feels like you're
going to be barbecuing insomebody's backyard.
So interesting to see what kindof show he can put on in a
environment like that.
But that's going to be inaugust, august 21st, in
cincinnati you're going to gethim to sign your chest I you
know I was planning on thatplaying a pair of underwear at

(03:05):
him then.

Tiffany Mason (03:05):
You going to get him to sign your chest?
You know I was planning on that.
You going to put a pair ofunderwear on him.

Jay Franze (03:07):
I'm going to get it tattooed that was my plan
Diamond Dave.

Tiffany Mason (03:12):
That's what I want.
It feels like you've reallythought this through.

Jay Franze (03:14):
If he signs David Lee Roth, forget it.
But if he can put Diamond Davedown there, my boob will be
forever marked.

Tiffany Mason (03:25):
Wow, how does your?

Jay Franze (03:26):
wife feel about that .
Who cares?
I mean, I haven't talked to heryet.
Sorry, babe, if you'relistening, it is still early.
She's not listening, please.

Tony Scott (03:32):
We all know better.

Jay Franze (03:35):
All right, you know what else I heard this week that
I thought was very cool andthat you're going to make fun of
me for.

Tiffany Mason (03:39):
What I love finding out things I'd make fun
of you for I love finding outthings.

Jay Franze (03:44):
I'd make fun of you for Sure Growing up what was my
favorite song Journey Faithfully.
True statement Journey'sFaithfully.
Okay Well, Steve Perry of theband Journey is re-releasing the
song Faithfully.
It is going to be done withWillie Nelson.

Tiffany Mason (04:03):
Oh.

Jay Franze (04:05):
They are going to be doing a reimagined version of
the song Faithfully.
This is for charity.
This is for what's Willie'scause there Farm Aid.

Tiffany Mason (04:15):
Well, I was trying to play it out in my head
and mix the two and like hearWillie singing it and I can kind
of hear it.
So, okay, I'll leave theverdict out.

Jay Franze (04:25):
You know that song's been covered quite a bit.
Matter of fact, it was writtenby Jonathan Cain, who is the
keyboard player for Journey.

Tony Scott (04:34):
And.

Jay Franze (04:34):
Jonathan Cain also released the song on his solo
album.
It's a completely differentfeel.
It's more of a country, slower,if you can imagine a little
slower.
It's a slower country feel forthat song.

Tiffany Mason (04:48):
If you can imagine a slower country song.
I was taking in an old episodeof American Idol tonight Because
you know they're recorded and Idon't sit down and watch TV
very often.
I do, but I don't Anyways.

Jay Franze (05:00):
Stop bragging.

Tiffany Mason (05:02):
Maybe I should say I watch a lot of TV and I
watch a lot of shows.
It's almost kind of like apodcast, right, jay, like you
get these certain shows in yourrotation until one of them has
like a season that ends and thenlike a new show takes over the
rotation.
Okay, that's kind of what it is.
So American Idol is like a gapfiller.
I like it, but am I like dyingfor the next episode?

(05:22):
No, because one episode is notdependent on the other and we
all know the same thing kind ofhappens like each episode, and I
don't really care who wins it.
I mean, I love a winner and Ilove watching it, but do I care?
No, so I don't watch it realtime, anyway.
So they were singing A lot ofdifferent people were singing a
lot of a lot of genres that theydon't normally sing.
But what was so confusing to meis this lady picked a Fleetwood

(05:45):
Mac song, which hello.
And then on top of that shedressed in country and I was
like your outfit doesn't matchthe vibe of the song, and then
what she normally sings didn'tmatch.
She normally does like thesebig power ballads.
It didn't really match what shewas singing.
I don't know, the whole thingwas off for me it would have

(06:08):
been a no, she would have wenthome Fair enough.
So got a real collab there withWillie Nelson.

Jay Franze (06:15):
I didn't really want to discuss this tonight, but I
do think there's somethingimportant to mention of it, and
that's the ACM Awards.
Yes, so Reba hosted it.
Back to Jeff King, her guitarplayer.
Reba hosted the show.
And congratulations to LaineyWilson, Entertainer of the Year
two years in a row.

Tiffany Mason (06:34):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (06:35):
But the one I wanted to bring up for us tonight was
again Jeff King.
Brooks Dunn Plays guitar forBrooks Dunn.
He's out on the road withBrooks Dunn and they actually
did it.
They won Duo of the Year WooFor the 17th time.
Oh my gosh, and I believesomeone owes me a little

(06:59):
something.

Tiffany Mason (07:01):
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
I could offer you a pat on theback, you guys.
He's gesturing for me to wearmy beaver shirt and show him.

Jay Franze (07:12):
bucky, the beaver on my shirt, that's but I don't
know if that's exactly what Iwas gesturing.
However, we had a bet on it andyou?
You did not choose the brooksand dunn who did I choose?
I don't know.
You were going against me forsome reason, because you said it
would be more fun to go againstme yeah, when you lose.
I support our previous guests,so therefore I went with Brooks

(07:37):
and Dunn and they did it.
They pulled it out, congratulations to Brooks and
Dunn.
Congratulations to Jeff King.

Tiffany Mason (07:44):
And they all darn , gone and done it.
I see what you did there Pleasedon't do it again oh my God,
let's go to me, let's hear metalk for a while.

Jay Franze (08:04):
Let's put a spotlight on you.

Tiffany Mason (08:07):
Yeah, yeah, that's why people come here,
that's why I'm saying peopleenjoy that more anyway.

Jay Franze (08:11):
So let's go ahead.

Tiffany Mason (08:12):
No, it's not true .
It's the chemistry of both ofus.

Jay Franze (08:15):
Is that what it is?
Yes, we were never good atscience, I would be nothing,
nothing, nothing without you.
I think we're one of thosechemicals that when you combine
them they blow up.

Tiffany Mason (08:26):
Yeah, blow up in a good way.
Tick, tick, tick, tick, thebomb blowing up, okay, okay,
okay.
Alice and Chains, they haveofficially canceled their
upcoming tour due to a medicalemergency involving their
drummer, sean Kinney.
Although the exact nature ofhis condition was not disclosed,
the band noted that it requiresimmediate attention, but his

(08:49):
long-term prognosis is positive, that's very sad.

Jay Franze (08:52):
So that's good.
No, it's good for him.
Sad that he's got issues goingon.
But you know I would have likedto have seen Alice in Chains.
That would have been a verycool show this year.

Tiffany Mason (09:02):
Yeah, we talked about them last last episode, I
think, yeah we can wait, we'lltalk about a van breaking up and
coming back together.
That's what we're talking about.

Jay Franze (09:09):
So yeah, yeah, we can wait.
As long as he's healthy, I'mokay with that.
You can be right, just gethealthy that's right.

Tiffany Mason (09:16):
That's right.
Best things come to those whowait, so we're waiting we're
waiting sean.
Okay, asus the uh colina whooasis, oh what did I.

Jay Franze (09:24):
What do you think I?

Tiffany Mason (09:24):
said Okay.
Asus the co-manager who Oasis.
Oh, what did you think I said?

Jay Franze (09:28):
You said Asus.

Tiffany Mason (09:29):
Asus.
No, I said OK, oasis.

Jay Franze (09:32):
Oh yeah, that makes more sense.
I'm sorry, I'll go back andlisten to that.

Tiffany Mason (09:38):
If only we could do instant replay.
Remember, okay.

Jay Franze (09:45):
All righty, then play okay.

Tiffany Mason (09:46):
Already, oasis's co-manager, alec mckinley,
confirmed that the iconicbritish band has no plans to
release new music and theirupcoming 2025 reunion tour will
be their final one.
The tour marks a significantevent as it reunites the
gallagher brothers, noel andLiam, after years of public
dispute.
It will begin on the birthdayof America, the 4th of July.

Jay Franze (10:10):
Nice.
They fight a lot.
Those brothers are known forfighting.
I mean you just mentioned inthere Alec being a co-manager.
Last week we talked aboutco-producers.

Tiffany Mason (10:23):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (10:23):
So to me it would have to be hard to co-manage a
band.

Tiffany Mason (10:29):
I mean, that doesn't seem like something that
you'd want to do well, maybeit's the noel and liam both hire
their own managers to taketheir side when they fight right
?

Jay Franze (10:41):
maybe, Maybe you know, Alec is the manager of one
of the brothers.

Tiffany Mason (10:47):
Right, because if I'm fighting with my brother
all the time, I'm getting my ownmanager.

Jay Franze (10:51):
There you go.
Fair enough, that makes sense.

Tiffany Mason (10:55):
So that's probably why Okay Inc US cancels
their Sonic Temple Festivalappearance due to illness.
Disappointing fans.

Jay Franze (11:04):
More illness.

Tiffany Mason (11:07):
I know, but I think we forget that they are
like humans, right, we weretalking about, was it us?
I think it was us talking aboutAerosmith.

Jay Franze (11:16):
Yes, steven Tyler's voice.

Tiffany Mason (11:20):
Yes, and we forget that they are mere
mortals like us, and you canonly sing so many days in a row,
or you can only tour so manytimes, or you can only break so
many pieces of your body beforelike.
Enough is enough and you got togive.

Jay Franze (11:39):
This is due to illness, and when I think of
illness, I think of like youhave a cold and you might cancel
a show or two, where Alice inChains is talking about a health
condition which would causethem to cancel a tour for the
year.

Tiffany Mason (11:52):
So I wonder if there's a little bit more going
on there.
Sonic Temple Festival.

Jay Franze (11:56):
Oh, just a festival.
Okay, sorry, I stand corrected.

Tiffany Mason (12:00):
It's a festival, Jay.
I should listen to you moreoften it would be nice, okay,
moving on to something more.
Now listen, okay, nothing more.

Jay Franze (12:12):
I'm listening to nothing more.

Tiffany Mason (12:15):
Nothing more.
Thank you for joining us.
That's been our show.
Okay, nothing more.
Tops the Billboard MainstreamRock Chart with House on Sand,
their third number one from theCarnal album.

Jay Franze (12:29):
I like Nothing More.
I'm happy for them.
I'd like to see them succeed.

Tiffany Mason (12:33):
They got their third number one and Nothing
More.

Jay Franze (12:38):
And Nothing More.
That's it.
You guys are done.
Don't release a fourth single.
You'll be disappointed.
Okay, three Days Graceannounces their eighth studio
album.
Is this a studio album?
You guys are done, don'trelease a fourth single, you'll
be disappointed.

Tiffany Mason (12:45):
Okay.
Three Days Grace announcestheir eighth studio album.
Is this a studio album?
It didn't say so.
Should I claim it a studioalbum Because I didn't know.
We could just simply say album.

Jay Franze (12:57):
I think it's fair to say it's a studio album.

Tiffany Mason (13:00):
I'm feeling like I'm getting my nail on my wood
out to start building my soapbox, because this is starting to
really get under my skin.

Jay Franze (13:09):
I've seen that you seem to be bothered by this, yes
, okay.

Tiffany Mason (13:14):
Anyways, it's called Alienation, it is set for
release August 22nd and themusic video for their single
Apologies is already out.
So probably get it on the oldYouTube, or maybe it's on, I
don't know.
It used to be called MTV, Ithink.
Anyway, okay, we're gonna moveinto country music.

(13:35):
You want to talk about thefolks out in Nashville?

Jay Franze (13:38):
Yeah, sure, why not, since I forgot to put something
in between them, sure?
No comment we're taking leftsalready folks.

Tiffany Mason (13:53):
Okay, turn signal to the right lane, into the
slow lane, not not the speedinglane.

Jay Franze (13:58):
Not the speeding lane.
I'm sitting here, I'm thinking,is there one in here?

Tony Scott (14:05):
Jay, you're fired.

Jay Franze (14:07):
There you go.

Tiffany Mason (14:08):
What Jay got fired.

Jay Franze (14:13):
I deserve that one.

Tiffany Mason (14:14):
I thought AI Trump, only let us say you're
awesome and fire us.

Jay Franze (14:19):
Well, that's true and that's the way it should be,
but I deserve it this time.

Tiffany Mason (14:23):
Okay.

Jay Franze (14:23):
Country news.

Tiffany Mason (14:24):
Well, it's good for the goose was good for the
gander, okay.
Well, he and rhymes debuted anew version of her signature
song, blue.
We talked about that before.
I think she was 14 when thatcame out during the 60th acm
awards.
The studio version studioversion is now available on
Amazon Music, so if you want tolisten to a polished version,

(14:48):
you can go to Amazon Music andlisten to that.
You really don't like thatstudio stuff, do you?
I feel like it's so given.

Jay Franze (14:56):
I agree with you.
Yes.
It should just be the newrelease, unless it's live.

Tiffany Mason (15:03):
Then we can stay live.
Yes, yes, I'm with you, thankyou.

Jay Franze (15:05):
That's the new rule for this show.
We're just going to go withthat for now.

Tiffany Mason (15:07):
Okay, we're not saying it.
We're never saying studio,assume it's always studio
because we are pretty factualand so we want to stay with that
high level of trust ourlisteners come to know from us.

Jay Franze (15:22):
I like Leigh-Anne Rimes.
I'm anxious to hear her newversion of the song Blue,
although that was never one ofmy favorite songs of hers, but
still good to hear she's doingnew music.

Tiffany Mason (15:33):
I did like it.
My guess is that she did itwithout the folk you know, like
the yodeling Without theyodeling.

Tony Scott (15:38):
That's what it was yodeling?

Tiffany Mason (15:39):
Mm-hmm, that would be my guess.
Mm-hmm, that would be my guess.
She's trying to give it a moremature.
I think she came out swingingback when she was 14 or whatever
.
It was a different sound.

Jay Franze (15:48):
She was killing it.

Tiffany Mason (15:49):
Yeah, yeah.
But now she's grown up in theindustry and she wants to give
it a new flair.
Okay, maren Morris I wasexcited to see her in the
headlines.
I kind of wondered where shewent, so I was happy to read
that she has clarified thatshe's not leaving country music,
despite previous statementscriticizing the industry's toxic

(16:11):
environment.
While distancing herself fromcertain aspects like country
radio and awards, she emphasizesthat country influence remains
integral to her musical identity, which I love that she's going
to stay.
She has a couple of songs.
I just went to the beach.
Oh man, on Sunday went to thebeach.

Jay Franze (16:30):
Take your golf cart down to the beach and hop on the
boat.

Tiffany Mason (16:34):
Noah, noah, anyways.
So it was looking like rain, itwas looking like it was going
to storm and I thought, okay, ifI could just walk 15 minutes
one way and 15 minutes back, itwas not looking good, I mean,
there were storm cloudseverywhere.
So I thought, okay, if I couldjust walk 15 minutes one way and
15 minutes back, it was notlooking good, I mean, there were
storm clouds everywhere.
So I thought, okay, if I canget 15 minutes in each way,
that's a half an hour.
I'm walking in the sand, youknow, it's a good little workout
.
So I started walking one wayand at 13 minutes, 13 and a half

(16:56):
minutes, I was like, oh God,give me one and a half more
minutes.
One and a half more minutes, Istart walking.
No, slow, big drops of rain.
And I was like, no, no, no, no,no, let me get back.
But it was funny because, as itwas raining on me, I always feel
like I mean I know that this is, this is taking like a um
shoulder.
Okay, we're taking a shoulderpause compared to like if we're

(17:18):
talking about our language,figuratively.
So I always feel like when I goto the beach, like that is
where god finds me, like he justgrabs my soul and he just holds
it and he just talks to me andI just figure, you know
everything out.
So I was like, ok, I feel like, you know, being washed by the
power of God.
I was like, ok, this is amazing.
And then I just started singingthis is my church by Maren

(17:39):
Morris, and she has a couple ofother songs I really like.
But it made me wonder if in myold episode of American Idol
that I was watching, mirandaLambert was talking about her
record label and I wonder ifthat is why she was alluding to
like an independent movementwith record labels.
And I wonder if that's why, like, they're just tired of

(17:59):
these big labels bossing themaround and that toxicity from
them and they've had enough andthey're just creating their own
labels.

Jay Franze (18:09):
They all seem to have something against the
industry as a whole right now,and I think the industry is in
flux.
I think it's.
You know, they're figuring itout, but it's not like it used
to be.

Tiffany Mason (18:23):
Well, I think, with the addition of technology
right, everybody has more attheir fingertips and they can be
more creative and they can domore on their own, like Mr Rich
Labootie.

Jay Franze (18:31):
Like Mr Rich Labootie, exactly Labels, I mean
.
I always say a label is nothingmore than a bank.
So if you don't need the bank, what's the point of having the
record deal?

Tiffany Mason (18:46):
Well, too, don't you think that record labels or
PR firms used to have to do alot of the marketing, where now
they can just open up theirInstagram account, put music at
the end of their name, get itverified, and the
discoverability is so mucheasier.

Jay Franze (19:02):
I discover a new artist almost every day at this
point, and good artists, yeah, good music with good videos.
I mean they're doing everythingon their own.
So I think really what thelabel can do now to make
themselves valuable is providetheir contact list.

Tiffany Mason (19:20):
Oh sure, I will never forget coming across Lily
Rose.
I don't know if you've heardthat name.
I think she's starting to geton the radio.
I'm not positive, but I thinkshe's starting on the radio.
Anyways, she's been opening forpeople maybe like a month prior

(19:40):
, I should say.
So we're listening to the songand Hannah, she, likes to learn
all the lyrics, so we're singingalong and like just loving the
song and I'm like I wonder who'sopening for Luke Bryant?

Jay Franze (19:51):
Luke who.

Tiffany Mason (19:52):
Luke Bryant.
I did it again, didn't I?
I always do it.
Oh my gosh, luke, I'm so sorryIf I were to have you come on
the.

Jay Franze (20:02):
Jay Frenzy show, I would stop doing it.
Jayfrenzycom slash live.
Come on in and she willapologize to you?

Tiffany Mason (20:07):
Yeah, to your face.
I did watch you on TV tonighton American Idol Anywho.
So yeah, we were really excitedwhen it was Lily Rose and we
were like oh my gosh, we knowthis song and so it was kind of
fun because nobody else reallyseemed to have known the song at
the time.
And here I thought I found likethis undiscovered talent.
And then she shows up on thestage and I was like, oh, like

(20:33):
everybody knows who she is.
That's where everybody feelssorry for me.
Well, Mr Blake Shelton he's inthe news.
He has released his new albumfor recreational use only on May
9th.
The album features his duetHanging On with his wife, Gwen
Stefani.

Jay Franze (20:49):
It's about time.

Tiffany Mason (20:50):
Yeah right.
Shelton recently expressedadmiration for Stefani's
evolving vocal abilities duringthe performance on the Today
Show's summer concert series.
I feel like I feel like she wasalways a good vocalist.

Jay Franze (21:04):
She's an amazing vocalist.

Tiffany Mason (21:06):
What's he talking about?
I?

Jay Franze (21:07):
don't know.

Tiffany Mason (21:08):
Has he met her?
Has he met her?
That's what I always say to myhusband when I do something that
I always do.
I'm like have you met me, havewe?

Jay Franze (21:15):
just met.

Tiffany Mason (21:17):
Hello.

Jay Franze (21:18):
I don't know.
He's a very technically goodsinger and she's a very
creatively you know strongsinger.
So I don't know, maybe he'sreferring to her technical
abilities okay, fair enough butit's good that they finally sang
something together.

Tiffany Mason (21:38):
Maybe if he sang something with his ex-wife
they'd still be together yeah, Ialways thought that they that
seemed like such a naturalcollaboration to me.

Jay Franze (21:46):
You know what you could also do.
Stop taking all the singers.
Leave some for the rest of us.

Tiffany Mason (21:53):
You got yours, Jay.

Jay Franze (21:55):
She doesn't sing.

Tiffany Mason (21:56):
No, I know, but you got yours.
You already put a ring on it.
Okay, you already said youliked it.

Jay Franze (22:03):
I swear I thought you just said glitter.
That's pretty nuts.

Tiffany Mason (22:10):
Okay, Well, something to get excited about.
Luke Combs is hinting aroundthat he's got an upcoming
country album.

Jay Franze (22:20):
I would hope so.
He's a country artist.
It's kind of like saying studioalbum.

Tiffany Mason (22:26):
Studio album.
Okay, so just not even upcoming.
These just are not country.
I mean it is upcoming, but it'snot country.
I mean it is country, but youknow what I mean, I think you're
a little confused at this point.

Jay Franze (22:37):
Okay, so we're not going to say country anymore,
you're going to have to assumethat if the artist is country,
it's country.
There's too many rules to thisshow.

Tiffany Mason (22:49):
Yes, and Dierks Bentley is set to release his
11th album, with details to beannounced.

Jay Franze (22:57):
Is that a studio album that's going to be?

Tiffany Mason (22:59):
announced.
I don't know and I'm not sayingif it's country either.
You're just going to have toassume.
You know what happens when youassume, but I'm going to go out
on a limb.
Yep, yep, we're going to assumethat's where it's at.
I miss playing hockey withDierks.
Yeah yeah, I remember yourstory.

(23:21):
It sounds like you really misshim a lot.

Jay Franze (23:25):
We were on different teams.
We had different points of viewwhen it came to the game, but
still it's a good time.
All right, my friend Questionof day.

Tiffany Mason (23:39):
Yes, I'm dying.
Let's do it.

Jay Franze (23:41):
Are you, are you really?

Tiffany Mason (23:45):
Are you dying to figure out how you're going to
play this album on a desertisland?

Jay Franze (23:49):
I hope somebody has a suggestion, george.

Tiffany Mason (23:50):
Work on that we've got to figure out some way
to do a solar chargingsituation again.

Jay Franze (23:55):
George is in the house.
How do we play a record ifwe're on a desert island?
So if we had a way of playingone album for the rest of our
lives, which album would that be.
What is your desert islandchoice selection album?
What do we choose?
All right, I suppose I probablyshould have thought about that

(24:17):
if I got to give an answer right.

Tony Scott (24:20):
It's not much thought.

Jay Franze (24:21):
My favorite band was always Journey.
Their best album, in my opinion, was escape.
It does not have faithfully onit oh, oh how would you survive
without you'd have to remember?
I'd have to remember what faithyou have to use your memory, my

(24:41):
re-memory.

Tiffany Mason (24:41):
So yes, journey's escape would be mine, for sure.

Jay Franze (24:43):
Wow, yeah, I'm gonna have to go with that.
I mean, I would prefersomething you know new these
days, but if we're gonna go, forthe rest of my life I can only
listen to one album, that wouldprobably be it well, it's like I
said before, we tend togravitate towards like revisit
the music from high school andcollege, and so that's what you

(25:03):
liked, and nostalgic and no, no,not at all.

Tiffany Mason (25:07):
But, um, you know , when I interview people on the
show, they always pick theseolder songs because you know I'm
like, well, what was that timeof your life like?
And they're like, well, youknow, it's just carefree and I
didn't have all theseresponsibilities, and you know.
So those songs make us feelgood.
So I, I too, would pick a albumthat is nostalgic, which I was
going to do madonna, because Ifelt like there was a good mix

(25:30):
of everything in there there'ssome slow, there's some music
videos I remember what era ofmadonna are we going?

Jay Franze (25:38):
with just like a prayer I'd have to go back to
holiday for me to have anyinterest in Madonna.

Tiffany Mason (25:47):
Oh well, that's what I picked, but I will.
I'm going to throw a caveat inthere.
No, I feel like this was likejust for funsies, right?
So for funsies, what would youpick?
So, if it's all for funsies, that's what I would pick, but I
always got to you, but I alwaysgot to you know.
Throw a little caveat in there.
So if I'm really on a desertedisland dessert island,

(26:09):
strawberry shortcut yeah, dessert island, and I am really
like just at odds with myself, Iwould need, like my faith,
music to get me through.
So then I'd have to pick alittle.
Phil Wickham Okay, so it'smaybe more of an artist for me.
I mean, I could pick any of hisstuff.
This is not the mixtape time.

(26:30):
I need a mixtape, jay.

Jay Franze (26:31):
George says just be smart, Put it on your phone and
take a lifetime supply ofbatteries.

Tiffany Mason (26:39):
My phone doesn't take batteries.
That won't weigh you down atall.

Jay Franze (26:44):
All right.
Well, while we get George goingon, let's see what he says.
He says my Island Song.
He's going with a song.
George are you not followingthe rules here.

Tiffany Mason (26:54):
We don't like to follow rules.

Jay Franze (26:55):
He says Moe Bandy and Joe Stampleys.

Tiffany Mason (26:59):
Stampleys Super hit, super hits.
Alright, see, and he too ispicking something from when he
was Stample.
Stample is super hit, superhits, all right, see, and he too
is picking something from whenhe was a teenager.

Jay Franze (27:10):
You guys always team up on me.
I don't know if I like this.

Tiffany Mason (27:14):
You picked one from there too.

Jay Franze (27:16):
Yeah, but not for that reason.

Tiffany Mason (27:17):
Well, I don't think that's why we picked it
either, but, like when you thinkof a song that you will listen
to, it's something that makesyou feel good.

Jay Franze (27:23):
True statement.
I'll give you that.

Tiffany Mason (27:26):
Don't argue with a woman, Jay.
You know I'm going to keepgoing until you say I'm right.
That's what I just agree with,even though I don't really.
Yeah, smart.

Jay Franze (27:32):
George, just look them up, they're funny.
Well, I mentioned Journey'sEscape and Mike mentioned that
this is too hard of a question.
This is too hard of a question.
There's too many to choose from.

Tiffany Mason (27:48):
He would like to know if he could go with
Journey's box set.

Jay Franze (27:51):
Oh clever?
Yes, I think so, so that way hecan get all of the albums.

Tiffany Mason (27:56):
I think if I were you, Jay, I'd be dual deserted
with him there you go, Iwouldn't mind that.

Tony Scott (28:03):
Sure.

Jay Franze (28:04):
Mike, let's hang out for a little while buddy.

Tiffany Mason (28:06):
Right For the rest of our lives, apparently,
yeah.

Jay Franze (28:09):
Maybe not, I don't know.

Tiffany Mason (28:12):
I feel good how that goes.

Jay Franze (28:13):
I don't know if we could do that.
I need more than one person.
All right, sarah with an H.
Sarah with an H Says she'sgoing to go with Miss Tiffany
and go with Rumors by FleetwoodMac.

Tiffany Mason (28:30):
Oh, dude, I really I had to battle with
myself, but I was like, I don'tknow, it's too, I gotta have a
couple upbeat songs in there.
It's gonna be some sunny days.
I have a feeling I gotta likeholiday.
Oh, that's, what you wanted washoliday.
So I said my head, but yeah, Igotta have something upbeat too,
you know all right.

Jay Franze (28:51):
Well, upbeat ashley says 1989 by taylor swift,
taylor's version has to betaylor's version.
Why does it have to be taylor'sversion?
Because we're against recordlabels tonight for some reason.

Tiffany Mason (29:08):
And I think everybody likes that longer
version.
I interviewed somebody aboutthat song on my podcast and I
mean even okay, so the way thatshe explained it was like the
OG's 50s, right, they knew aboutthe four minute version and
they knew that there was likemore to the song.
So then they waited, waited, soanticipated, and then, bam,

(29:31):
taylor's version came up.
So I like the buildup, I likethe song, but I think that
that's why everybody likes that, because it was like you know
these unreleased lyrics orwhatever, and then all of a
sudden, sudden, it's all on theopen.

Jay Franze (29:46):
I think you probably have something to that, but I
think it's, in my opinion, whatI would think it would be is
Taylor Swift's team, her crew, her Swifties.
I think they just are so intoTaylor and don't like the fact
that she was being screwed.

Tiffany Mason (30:03):
Wait a minute, I don't think I have this
backstory.

Jay Franze (30:07):
Well, the reason why these albums were released as
Taylor's version.
She went into the studio andre-recorded all of her
previously recorded albumsbecause she was getting screwed
over by her record label.
So, rather than being screwedover by her record label, she
just went ahead and re-recordedall of her records.

Tiffany Mason (30:24):
I think I do remember hearing that now yeah,
okay, okay, well, I love hereven more.
There you go, she's got onemore heart.

Jay Franze (30:36):
Jake says Joshua Tree by U2.

Tiffany Mason (30:40):
Okay.

Jay Franze (30:41):
Not mine but Jake.
You enjoy yourself on yourisland.
You, jake, appreciate it.

Tiffany Mason (30:47):
Trevor says john mayer oh continuum, he says it's

Jay Franze (31:04):
Okay, amira says Amy Winehouse, Back to black.

Tony Scott (31:10):
Oh.

Jay Franze (31:12):
Daniel says Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon.

Tiffany Mason (31:16):
I would take some Aerosmith.

Jay Franze (31:18):
Here's a good one.

Tony Scott (31:20):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (31:21):
Megan says A Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
.

Tiffany Mason (31:26):
That one came across my mind as well, because
I was thinking if you weresitting on the deserted island?
And then isn't this ironic, don't you think?

Jay Franze (31:38):
I think when that record came out it was ahead of
its time.
It just caught everybody offguard.
It was the first real song thathad, you know, the f word in it
yeah I mean it caught peopleoff guard for that the topic of
that song caught people offguard.
Then it kind of lost a littlebit when you find out who it was
about.

Tiffany Mason (31:56):
But don't tell me you don't want to.
Don't tell me.
Don't tell me.
Don't tell me.
Don't tell me I like this song.
Don't ruin it, it'll ruin it.
Don't tell me.
Don't tell me.
Don't tell me.
Don't tell me I like this song, don't ruin it.

Jay Franze (32:05):
It'll ruin it.
Don't tell me it will ruin it.
I will guarantee that I won'ttell you?

Tiffany Mason (32:07):
No, don't tell me then.

Jay Franze (32:08):
Justin says Abbey Road by the Beatles, as long as
Justin realizes that KellyClarkson's a better singer than
Paul McCartney.
Caleb says never mind, Okay, fine, Be that way.
Oh by Nirvana yes.

Tiffany Mason (32:28):
I don't think I'd want any rock on the island.
No no, the sun's out.
You gotta, you gotta, maybe Iwould.
I'd be getting frustrated no no, come on, have some island
music no, I think like you'regetting bug bites and your
sunburn and your little hut thatyou've made is leaking water.

(32:51):
You're starting to get pissedoff a little bit and I think I
think I would like to changemine.
I think I would like to havesome very aggressive mad music.

Jay Franze (33:04):
You have some very aggressive music, just so you
can feel hot.

Tiffany Mason (33:09):
No, just like yell and get all the.
I maybe need some five-fingerdeath punch in there.
That's what you need for sureI'll be talking to the ants.
Burn, mfr burn.

Jay Franze (33:21):
Oh Grant says, american Idiot by Green Day.

Tiffany Mason (33:25):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (33:26):
Wait, here's another one, emily.
Emily says Speak Now.

I'm trying to think would Ilisten to these albums from
start to finish?
And I would listen to thatalbum from start to finish.

Tiffany Mason (33:52):
Well, that was my whole thing with Madonna, Like
I think I would listen to thewhole thing.

Jay Franze (33:57):
I would have back in 1982.

Tony Scott (34:00):
I liked.

Jay Franze (34:00):
Madonna when she first came out, but you know,
she kind of went a little toofar for me.
Sean says Thriller by MichaelJackson.

Tony Scott (34:08):
Because it's Thriller.

Jay Franze (34:10):
Oh, Grace, she's commenting about my daughter and
says I will need to go withLana Del Rey.

Tiffany Mason (34:18):
Oh.

Jay Franze (34:18):
Born to Die.
That's a depressing title rightthere.

Tiffany Mason (34:23):
Okay, 89.
It came out in 89, so it's onlyseven years later.
Madonna, like a Prayer, shestill has dark hair.

Jay Franze (34:30):
That's still early.

Tiffany Mason (34:32):
It's early enough .

Jay Franze (34:33):
Okay.

Tiffany Mason (34:34):
I rest my case.
You're going to take my Madonnarecord and you're going to go
on the island and you're goingto like it, jay.

Jay Franze (34:43):
She used to be hot.
You know not my type, but Imean she was.

Tiffany Mason (34:48):
Madonna.

Jay Franze (34:48):
Yeah, at the beginning she was.

Tiffany Mason (34:50):
Yeah, she had the Cyndi Lauper look.

Jay Franze (34:53):
That was just an 80s thing.
Where was it?
I just lost it.
Oh Jackson, Purple Rain byPrince.

Tiffany Mason (35:03):
I think my husband might pick that one.

Jay Franze (35:05):
Talent-wise.

Tiffany Mason (35:05):
like I mentioned he also might pick a Dr Dre one.

Jay Franze (35:08):
No no.

Tiffany Mason (35:10):
No, my husband might.
No, tell your husband, he'swrong.

Jay Franze (35:14):
Stick with Prince.
I had respect for you when youwere talking about Prince.
Okay, okay, okay Stick withPrince.

Tiffany Mason (35:17):

Prince, okay, okay.

Jay Franze (35:20):

He just has too scrawny of a stature To begin
with period.
I just can't even take himserious.

in the USA, I'd be like Born inthe USA.
I'd be like born in the USA,Born in the USA living on an
island yeah.

Jay Franze (36:45):

Tony Scott (38:11):
This is how dedicated.

Jay Franze (38:12):
Swifties are None of them, are just saying the album
.
They're very specific with it.
I like that.
Swifties are None of them, arejust saying the album.

Tiffany Mason (38:18):
They're very specific with it.
They're there for her,supporting her.

Jay Franze (38:19):
They are there, just like the crew is there for us.

Tiffany Mason (38:23):
Yes.

Jay Franze (38:26):

Tiffany Mason (38:43):
Jay is censoring y'all's replies.
Okay, you are being censoredright here.

Jay Franze (38:47):

You keep yelling at me.
You say stop giving so muchtime to the crew.
Miranda.
I said no, we have to hearMiranda out.
Miranda says Cry Pretty byCarrie Underwood.
All right, I like CarrieUnderwood.

(39:08):
I don't know which album CryPretty is, but I do like Carrie
Underwood a lot.
I can listen to her scratchingcars and stuff.

Tiffany Mason (39:18):
Yeah, I don't think that was the name of any
of her albums, was it?

Jay Franze (39:20):
Cry.

Tiffany Mason (39:21):
Pretty.

Jay Franze (39:21):
I don't recognize the name, but I don't know them
all.

Tiffany Mason (39:24):
I was just in all of her albums.

Jay Franze (39:27):
Isaac, Isaac, Isaac.
He says the.

Tiffany Mason (39:31):
Eminem Show by Eminem.

Jay Franze (39:35):
Hmm, I don't know if I could do an Eminem album for
the rest of my life.

Tiffany Mason (39:40):
No.

Jay Franze (39:41):
My 10-year-old likes Eminem.
My husband likes Eminem I don'tmind, eminem, my wife's like
you cannot let her listen tothat.
Listen to some of the wordsthat are coming out of her mouth
right now.
Yeah, fine, you got a point.
I let my kids listen toanything.
All get a point.

(40:04):
I let my kids listen toanything.

Tiffany Mason (40:05):
All right, I'm going to end it on this one
because Brittany is myorm no.

Jay Franze (40:17):
Oh, brittany says, because she is a much better
singer.
I'm going to go with Piece byPiece, by Kelly Clarkson.
We all know what you mean, brittany.

Tiffany Mason (40:34):
We can read between the lines Brittany Thank
you, did you heart out?

Jay Franze (40:41):
Paul, you are my new friend.

Tiffany Mason (40:42):
My new best friend.
Take it easy, you can have anew favorite crew member, but
don't forget, oh yeah, fine, okay, the old tried and true
over here.

Jay Franze (40:57):
George, she just threw you under the bus.
I just want to point that out.
She said you can throw Georgeaway, but you can't throw me
away.
I don't know if he caught that.

Tiffany Mason (41:06):
I did not say that.
You see how Jay picked his newnumber one.

Jay Franze (41:08):
She said you got a new favorite crew member.

Tiffany Mason (41:13):
You're still my favorite crew member, George.
Is that what it is?

Jay Franze (41:16):
You guys have something going on Well now that
we're done with dessert wouldyou like to?
Make me laugh.
Okay, before we get into yourcomedic news, I have been
watching and listening to somany dad jokes on Instagram

(41:38):
lately.
It is ridiculous.
It's found my algorithm.

Tony Scott (41:42):
It comes up in my feed all day and I can't shut
them off, I just every time Isee one.

Tiffany Mason (41:48):
I'm like.
You're like oh, I got to tellTiffany that one.

Jay Franze (41:53):
You'd be wrong.

Tiffany Mason (41:57):
So Jay's working on his new stand-up material.
It's going to be really good.
Well, maybe he will be luckyenough to get on Netflix like
Tom Segura.
Did I say that right?
Segura Segura, that's what Isaid.
So.

Jay Franze (42:16):
Either way.
I mean, it's not my nativelanguage, I just go by the way
it sounds when everybody elsepronounces it.
Okay, Segura.

Tiffany Mason (42:25):
He has a new series called Bad Thoughts.
It premiered on May 13th.
There are six episodes and itdelves, so it must have been AI
helping to create our sentencehere.
It delves into Segura'ssignature dark humor, featuring
vignettes inspired by his ownbad thoughts.

Jay Franze (42:44):
Oh yeah, obviously AI wrote that for sure.

Tiffany Mason (42:48):
Yeah, whenever I use ChachiBT anymore, I always
say do not use the word delve,do not use this word, because I
feel like they're just like suchtelltale words.

Jay Franze (43:00):
You put that into your profile.

Tiffany Mason (43:03):
I put it actually , you know you tell it like
remember, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
So I say, remember, never usethe word Delve.

Jay Franze (43:11):
I'm with you, my friend Tom Segura, you know he
just came across my radar, youknow, within the past five years
and his podcast.
I found him through his podcast, the one he does with his wife,
and I didn't realize how funnyhe was going to be.
But Tom Segura is really funny.
I mean he does have dark humor, for sure.

Tiffany Mason (43:33):
And I kind of appreciate that I like the dark
humor.
You can tell by some of the dadjokes in my feed what was the
word that I got to use last weekwith David Spade Sedonic, I
think.
Sedonic humor.
Look at you.

Jay Franze (43:48):
Yeah.

Tiffany Mason (43:51):
I was extremely disappointed.

Jay Franze (43:54):
Oh, did you go listen?

Tiffany Mason (43:57):
Yeah, it's supposed to be like multiple
seasons or whatever, or multipleepisodes.
I went to listen to the firstepisode.
Needless to say, I I think wemade it maybe 15 minutes in.
I got a smile on my face andyou know how easy it is to make
me laugh, jay.
I mean it's not really thathard, okay, and no, I mean like

(44:17):
I smiled a little bit.
Also, if I feel like mr mason'snot enjoying himself, then I
will get like um, do you everwatch a show and you feel like
the other person is judging youfor wanting to watch it?
Why do you like this?
Ah, he doesn't like this show,he doesn't like it, he doesn't,
he's not gonna sit here.
So I get all nervous and I waslike, forget it, I don't even
think it's funny, like let'sjust turn it off and watch

(44:39):
something else.

Jay Franze (44:39):
So have you ever watched tom segura's show?

Tiffany Mason (44:43):
no, but I'm going to now.

Jay Franze (44:44):
Yeah, it's your mom's house.
He does it with his wife.

Tiffany Mason (44:48):
I forget his wife's name off the top of my
head oh, that's the name of thepodcast your mom's mom's house I
wasn't just telling you no, Ithought you were trying to say
like he remember, like yo mamajokes, yeah, no, no, I thought
it was like your mom's housejokes and I was like what,
christina?

Jay Franze (45:04):
Christina P, that's his wife, so he does Segura P
Segura.
Tom Segura and Christina P do apodcast called your Mom's House
.
They actually have their ownnetwork at this point and they
brought on several othercomedians and other podcasts and
they're typically youtube showsthat they release as podcasts.
But I mean he is very funny andthe humor but on both him and

(45:28):
his wife are on the dark sidefor sure and I really enjoy it.
My wife not usually a fan ofthe dark humor but we watched a
couple of those shows and he'salso best friends with Bert
Kreischer.
They have a show on the networkcalled Two Bears, One Cave.

Tiffany Mason (45:46):
Oh, I think maybe I've listened to it.
Yeah.

Jay Franze (45:49):
Worth checking out.

Tiffany Mason (45:51):
Okay, noted.

Jay Franze (45:53):
Not even under recommendations.
Just a recommendation out inthe wild why?

Tiffany Mason (46:00):
why do we say duly noted?

Jay Franze (46:03):
I don't know, but I, I wrote down two notes, so I
feel like that was so there'syour duel duly noted okay, duly
noted a phrase meaning somethinghas been acknowledged or
recorded appropriately and willbe considered at the right time.

(46:24):
It implies something has beenunderstood and has been taken
into account well then, I double.
Duly noted it does not tell mewhere it came from or the origin
of such I'm sure I didn'tinquire origin it's so
interesting always the originstories of these weird things

(46:47):
that we have the phrase dulynoted originated from the words
duly don't follow this up with, and noted Don't follow this up
with, and noted, which meansproperly, rightly or adequately
so duly.

Tiffany Mason (46:59):
How is duly spelled?

Jay Franze (47:01):
D-U-L-Y.

Tiffany Mason (47:03):
D-U-L-Y, oh, not D-U-A-L.

Jay Franze (47:10):
So it was properly recorded.
It is an old French and Latinterm.

Tiffany Mason (47:17):
Oh.

Jay Franze (47:17):
There you go.
You learned something on thisshow.

Tiffany Mason (47:20):
Well news reviews and interviews.
I mean, that was news.

Jay Franze (47:24):
I'm going to list us under education now as well.
Joe, you have been learned.

Tiffany Mason (47:30):
Yes, oh my goodness, I don't know who.

Jay Franze (47:34):
Joe is but Joe's chiming in about that.
So, joe, you have been learned, duly noted, okay.

Tiffany Mason (47:41):
Well, something else for Joe to learn about
Conan O'Brien.
He was honored with Mark TwainPrize for American humor with a
special featuring tributes fromfellow comedians like John
Mulaney, Will Ferrell.

Jay Franze (47:53):
Don't say it, don't say it, go ahead say it.

Tiffany Mason (47:59):
And Sarah Silverman now streaming on
Netflix.

Jay Franze (48:03):
Conan O'Brien, Bostonian with red hair?

Tiffany Mason (48:06):
We don't need to spend too much time on that.
I feel like we did this lastweek, but I just watched a
really good Will Ferrell moviethat I will again recommend in
the wild.

Jay Franze (48:21):
Yes, we mentioned this last week, but the big
thing to note from that is he isfrom Boston.
Does have right here.

Tiffany Mason (48:27):
You are cordially invited.
Yes, it is a wreath Witherspoonmovie.
Oh that's Will.
Yes, you are cordially invitedand it's very good.
I give it five stars, or awhole tomato or I don't know
what.
The ratings are three thumbs up, six stars and three thumbs up.

Jay Franze (48:46):
So if you guys two big toes oh my goodness my wife
says my toes are too big.

Tiffany Mason (48:56):
I've never heard of that.
Mr Mason's middle toe is legitas long as my finger pinky my
pinky finger.

Jay Franze (49:04):
My big toes are like massive and I've given it to
all three of my kids and they'reall girls so they can't walk
around with sandals.

Tiffany Mason (49:15):
Oh, my sister has a big, big toe and every time I
look at it I'm like god, it'slike a hammer toe he's got a big
, big toe I feel like it lookslike someone smacked him with a
hammer better big toe flattenedout.
I'm not gonna say never mind, no, no, no, reel that one in, reel
that one in.

(49:35):
Okay, while you're reeling thatin, we're going to talk about
Devin Walker from Saturday NightLive.
He debuted my Favorite Lyrics,a playful dive into iconic rap
lines and music culture.
Devin Walker does the segmentthat I confused for the Stedmire
show.

Jay Franze (49:53):
Weekend Update yes.

Tiffany Mason (49:54):
Yes, and so I'm kind of excited to check it out.
I'm also excited to check itout because it's about music, so
duh, and it's about lyrics, soagain duh.

Jay Franze (50:04):
So I'm excited about that, although I don't know
very much about it and it saysrap lines, so that means it's
got to be clever.
Well, let me rephrase that.
True, true true, it should beclever.

Tiffany Mason (50:13):
Yeah, yeah, I just got this game.
So every I don't know two orthree months, I host game night
and I just sent an invite out tolike 18 of my friends, life is
that on the boat.

Jay Franze (50:24):
Do you guys do game night on the boat?
No stop oh sorry, that's theyacht.
Sorry.

Tiffany Mason (50:35):
We don't have a yacht.

Tony Scott (50:39):
Yeah, I just stop.

Tiffany Mason (50:43):
So that's what she said.
So I invite out, like I invite,like I don't know, 12 or 18
friends I don't even know andlike we're all so busy that
usually about only five peoplecan make it no, usually like
five people can make it, and wealways play the same game and we
always love it and we're alwayslike, oh, my god, that was
awesome, what are we gonna do itagain?
So I thought like, oh, let meget a new game.

(51:05):
So people came over and I waslike, what you guys want to
start with?
So we started with the old gamethat we always play, which we
had a fantastic time, and then Ireally wanted to bust out this
new game.
So there's, there's, there'slike two or three music games,
but this is the one I got andit's finished.
The lyrics it's kind of likecards against humanity.
That was a big buildup.

(51:26):
I don't know if you could hearmy brain, but it was like I can
see the cogs turning.
So it's like cards againsthumanity, but you pull it out
and you read the thing and thenpeople have to finish the lyrics
.
Okay, and I know I can see theblood okay brett goldstein, oh

(51:55):
hey, known for his role in tedlasso.
If you guys do not know who, this is just a quick google
brett goldstein.
He's one of the soccer playersthat ted coaches.
Anywho, he has released hisfirst stand-up special.
Did you laugh at me for sayinganywho?

Jay Franze (52:09):
no, I would never laugh at you you laugh at me
every time.

Tiffany Mason (52:16):
the second best night of your life on HBO and
the special reflects his journeyfrom the UK comedy scene to
international fame.
I thought that is freakinghilarious because he's also got
a little accent.

Jay Franze (52:27):
I'll check it out.
I'll watch any comedy specialand I really like it when it's
somebody's first time doing it.

Tiffany Mason (52:33):
Right, because I think we've discussed they're
funnier usually in the beginning.

Jay Franze (52:37):
Yeah, and they're typically funnier, but they put
more time and you know it seemsto be I don't know, it seems to
be more my thing yeah, yeah,it's okay.

Tiffany Mason (52:48):
Oh, tongue biting over here.
Now let's talk about the songthat you suggested to me last
week.
This is what I will say.
At first his voice was tooshaky, like a constant vibrato,
and I was like I don't know.
Then he punched a little powerinto some of the lyrics and it

(53:10):
immediately made me think ofChris Daughtry, and then I was
like okay, I'm in, I'm in forthe vibrato all the time, I'm in
.
So once I made that littleswitch in my head, I enjoyed it
a lot more, and that's reallyall I wrote down about it.
I did like some of the lyrics.
I thought that I liked thestory, the imagery that he was
giving.

Jay Franze (53:29):
So, yeah, Well, my thoughts on the artist the song.
He's one of those artists thatI've mentioned when we talked
about the most unique voices, soI think, he's got an extremely
unique voice, yes, and it's avoice that I just really like.
I like his voice.

(53:50):
His voice has just got thatgrowl and that feel to me.
When I hear it, I feel emotion,I can feel everything he's
singing about.
It's like, yeah, he takes methere.
Like you mentioned, the imageryis good.

Tiffany Mason (54:05):
I call it the stalker song yeah, it is like
the stalker song.
He's sitting on her streetcorner staring up at her window
it could also be the iconic 80ssong where he's holding the
radio over his head.

Jay Franze (54:19):
Oh yeah, the boombox John Cusack.

Tiffany Mason (54:21):
Yes.

Jay Franze (54:21):
That was a great movie.
Yes, I'll say anything.

Tiffany Mason (54:24):
Yes, it was on the tip of my tongue, but I I
miss his movies yeah he used tobe in a lot of movies.

Jay Franze (54:31):
I wonder what happened to him.
We'll have to look him up.

Tiffany Mason (54:33):
I feel like I never realized the pairing until
it's like too late.
You know, like David Spade wasalways with Chris Farley and.
Chris Farley died and I waslike wait, why is David Spade in
a movie without Chris Farley?
Like wait, those two always gotogether.
You know, like there alwaysseems to be little clusters, and
I don't know if I really knowwhat they are right now.

Jay Franze (54:49):
but yeah, those John Cusack movies were all the same
people all the time.
So yes, the Stalker song, Ithought, has a very good story
behind it.
It's, you know, the the feelingof pain of losing somebody and
seeing them with somebody else.
So the song itself was clever.
It was written in a slightlydifferent time signature, so it

(55:13):
was in six, eight time.
So it kind of adds a little bitmore emotion to it.
It's not your typical pop songof a 4-4 time signature.
I like that.
I think it adds a little bitmore of depth to the song.
It's a little bit more clever,a little bit more adult.

Tiffany Mason (55:30):
How often, speaking of, I want to say
timestamp, but I don't thinkthat's right, you know, when
you're saying like 6-8 and 4-4.

Jay Franze (55:37):
Oh yeah, it's not timestamp, time signature.

Tiffany Mason (55:39):
Thank you, time signature.
Do you keep the same timesignature throughout the whole
song or do you like have someparts where it's one time
signature and then, like, do youbop back and forth?
Do you just have like, two Likeor just one throughout the
whole thing?

Jay Franze (55:55):
Your typical pop song will keep pretty much a 4-4
time through the whole thing.
There are bands that do switchbetween time signatures and
there's some bands that goextremely overboard into
switching time signatures andthat requires an extreme amount
of talent.
So you get bands like Tool orRush or Dream Theater.
Those are bands that are knownfor switching time signatures.

(56:17):
So, yes, you can switch timesignatures as often as you would
like.
However, your typical pop songis either 4-4 time or 3-4 time
are usually the two biggest.
3-4 is that waltz feel.

Tiffany Mason (56:32):
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

Jay Franze (56:34):
And 6-8 time is very similar to 3-4 time.
So it's still that same waltzfeel.

Tiffany Mason (56:42):
Yep, got it, just total side note, but this was
really cool.
So my new podcast that I wastalking about was trust your
inner sense, and the host has adaughter who has Williams
syndrome, and I guess this isWilliams syndrome awareness
month in the month of May.
And the kid that was on there, well, he's not really a kid

(57:03):
anymore, but he's 29, I think 23.
Anywho, he is a co-host on apodcast called the starry eyed
podcast and it is through theWilliams syndrome association
and he got to do a cool thingwhere he went on tour with if I
told you, you probably know who,but I was not.

(57:24):
That wasn't the focus of what Iwas doing at the time.
Anyway, mtv aired six episodesof them going on tour and their
band name was what's your news,or tell me, tell me the news,
one of those two and he saidthat they were like well, what
is you know some of some of thefavorite things you've done?
What do you play?
He plays all the guitars andone of his favorite pieces to

(57:46):
play is something by that dreamtheater well, that means he's
talented.

Jay Franze (57:51):
I'll give him that right.

Tiffany Mason (57:52):
So I was like, wow, that's pretty cool that he
has a disability and he can playthat complex of a song.
So you saying that giving themhigh credibility is me even more
so.
Giving Brendan, and givingBrendan just that much more
props in my head, like that'spretty cool.
I love when people overcome adisability or you know, just the

(58:12):
underdog stories are so cool.

Jay Franze (58:14):
Yeah, I like the underdog stories for sure.
One of my favorite movies isRudy.

Tiffany Mason (58:19):
Oh yeah, for sure , everybody's Jay.
Come on, Nice try, you thinkit's yours.

Jay Franze (58:24):
Just your, one of your favorites.
I'm not saying it's just mine, but my wife laughs at me for
that.
Whatever.

Tiffany Mason (58:30):
It's such a good movie, it's a great movie.
Oh man, that's why I said screwmy wife, that's it we should
get divorced.
That's it.
That's it.

Jay Franze (58:39):
Drop the paperwork.
It's done babe.
But Charlie Judge.
He has played on countless, countless hit records, including
Taylor Swift, and he alsoplayed on Bon Jovi records and
stuff.
So I mean he's amazing, amazingpiano player.

(59:00):
So he played piano and heplayed B3.
Vaughn Ray from the band.
Vaughn Ray, thank you forjoining us I do appreciate you
being here.
You, my friend, are the personthat I put on the top of our
list when we were talking aboutthe most unique voices.

Tiffany Mason (59:16):
It's true.

Jay Franze (59:17):
And favorite band.
There you go.
Thank you for joining us,Anyway.
So back to the critique.
Here you got Charlie Judge andthen you got Jim Cristaldi
played all the guitar parts andstuff.
So you got some extremely, extremely talented musicians.

Tiffany Mason (59:35):
Yeah.

Jay Franze (59:35):
Andy Hall played drums and it was recorded over
at Studio 6 in Nashville.
So I mean, as far asperformance, you're not going to
get any better of a performance.

Tiffany Mason (59:48):
Wow, I'll have to listen to it through different
ears, through different ears.

Jay Franze (01:00:01):
I think he's got a similar voice or similar style
to daughtry.
I don't think that's a.
I don't think you're far offthere.
Matter of fact, he's beencompared to daughtry in the past
.
And then, matter of fact, there's another song of his that
I would have suggested for youto listen to, but I don't know
if it's been released into the, into the streaming services, at
this point, so you wouldn't beable to hear it.

Tiffany Mason (01:00:21):
Yeah, I did try to see, like okay, who's the
producer?
Like I was trying to be all youknow researchy and I was
unsuccessful.

Jay Franze (01:00:33):
So Well, we talked about last week how two
producers work together and howthings come together yeah that
particular song um just to throwa monkey wrench in, was
produced by myself and jimcristaldi uh I thought that, as
far as an artist and he was oneof the best artists I feel like

(01:00:55):
he's one of the lesser knownartists I've ever worked with,
but one of the one of the bestartists.
I feel like he's one of thelesser known artists I've ever
worked with, but one of the

Tiffany Mason (01:01:00):
one of the better ones I've ever worked with yeah
, um von ray is saying he loveshow music is so subjective and I
think that's what I always lovefrom my show is that I listen
to a song and then a personcomes on and tells me about
their song and I'm like, huh, didn't see that coming.
Like we talked about Drinker'sHour.
Speaking of Bon Ray, you and Iand also I know that they get

(01:01:24):
feedback that people think it'slike a drinking song, when
really it's quite the opposite.
George says good surprise, goodsurprise, good surprise, good
surprise Done by our very own MrGerald.

Jay Franze (01:01:40):
Francis.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:45):
I feel like the hug at the end of Talladega
Nights, where they're like theycan't figure out how to hug.
Alright.

Jay Franze (01:01:54):
What else is going on?

Tiffany Mason (01:01:56):
Well, I think I need to give a song
recommendation.
Sir hello, it's my turn, but Idon't think let's get the
spotlight back on you gosh,we're oh there, okay, it's back.
Okay, it's back on me, okay.
I was at a wedding over theweekend and there was a song

(01:02:16):
that was playing and I was like,oh my goodness, I love this
song so much.
And then I looked it up and, nosurprise, it's by Lauren Daigle
and I love her voice.
Her voice is very Adele ish ifyou're familiar with Lauren and
so the song is called love likethis, and it was just so
beautiful.
First of all, this wedding, ohmy gosh, every speech that they

(01:02:39):
did, I was like bawling and Idon't know these people.
I don't know these people.
I was there with our otherbusiness, the Florida Coffee
Peddler, and we were servingcoffee vendor and then all of a

(01:03:01):
sudden, like just every song, ohmy gosh, when the father and
the bride danced.
It was butterfly kisses, and Iwas just like, oh yeah, like
trying to like hold it togetherbecause I know that one day that
will be Hannah, then the momand the son dance, and I was
like, oh my gosh, I could justsee like me or me and Preston or
Parker dancing and I don't know, I don't know, I was all in the
feels.
And then they, they did themother daughter, then they did
the father daughter or motherson, sorry, father daughter and

(01:03:23):
then the bride and the groom.
So I'm already all emotional.
And then they start dancing tothis song and I'm like, oh,
forget it.
Forget it.
So that's what I'm going tosuggest is Love Like this by
Lauren Daigle, and I love LaurenDaigle's voice.
She is one of those people thatcould like sing the phone book,
you know.

(01:03:43):
And then they say, like, if youcan sing, you can sing, girl
can sing.
So check it out.
Let me know your thoughts nextweek.

Jay Franze (01:03:51):
I wrote it down and maybe we should post it on the
socials or something.

Tony Scott (01:03:58):
So the crew can participate.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:01):
We could do that.
Is it duly noted?

Jay Franze (01:04:05):
It has been duly noted.
George, can you put that intothe minutes please?
Oh, that's funny, vaughn sidenote he makes knives and he made
me a knife, so I have it ondisplay.
Sorry, vaughn, I don't use itbecause I don't want to ruin the

(01:04:27):
art, but I do have it ondisplay.

Tiffany Mason (01:04:29):
It's sitting right behind me over here
speaking of shows that we makefun of our spouses, for Sean
loves to watch Forged in Fire.
Oh my God, he probably hateswhen I sit there and watch it
with him, because I'm like, ooh, they're going to stick it in
the fire now and then they'regoing to like pound at it.

(01:04:49):
You know, I'm like, ooh, toomany cracks, you've got to make
sure you can.
The guy always takes the knifeand he like sticks it into a pig
and he's like the knife willcut.
I'm like the knife will cut.
I make fun of it the whole time, but it is definitely an art.

Jay Franze (01:05:09):
Speaking of that, when he gave me that knife, he
warned me do not touch.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:11):
Probably a good thing he did.
Yeah, sharp blade.

Jay Franze (01:05:15):
Just ruined the display.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:17):
Ooh, that's a cool case.

Jay Franze (01:05:18):
Nice, huh Nice.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:20):
Did he make that too he?

Jay Franze (01:05:21):
did.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:22):
Wow, that's very intricate.
Now that's a knife.
Ooh, the knife will cut.
Don't touch it, jay, trying tobe careful.
Gosh, it's not that kind ofshow, it's not an emergency show
.
It could be with you and thatknife it could be.

Jay Franze (01:05:43):
That's pretty slick it's very, and look at the, the
grip on that too I saw that.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:49):
Oh no, I didn't see the grip.
No, go closer, I want to see itcloser.

Jay Franze (01:05:52):
I've watched a lot of forging fire.
But look at, it's got his logoon there.

Tiffany Mason (01:05:56):
That is really cool.

Jay Franze (01:05:57):
VR Vaughn Ray Uh-huh .

Tiffany Mason (01:06:00):
Nice, uh-huh, I do like.
That Is that little notch inthe front for your first finger
to go in front of that.
I'm not even kidding, I'm beingfor real.
Yeah, right, like that, yeah,yeah.

Jay Franze (01:06:12):
He says it will kill .

Tiffany Mason (01:06:15):
The knife will cut, the knife will kill.
Maybe Von Ray knows what dothey say on Fortune Fire.
I don't know if it says it willcut or it will kill.
I think they say it will kill.
Now that he said that the knifewill kill.

Jay Franze (01:06:29):
It will kill.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:31):
Yes, that's beautiful.

Jay Franze (01:06:34):
It is a beautiful knife, sir, from day one,
episode one.
If you listen to our show, heis the, the show sponsor at the
end of the show of your knivesoh, I have heard that a whole
bunch yeah, there you go see, you're making, starting to make
connections.

Tiffany Mason (01:06:50):
Oh, Von Ray Can't get one past me.

Jay Franze (01:06:56):
No, he was the very first guest on this rebranded
show, so thank you, von, appreciate you being here.
You are the man we look forwardto you coming back.
All right, what's going on thisweek?
The biggest thing to me thisweek.
I don't know if you care ornotice, but Major League
Baseball reinstated Pete Rose.
I don't know if you care ornotice, but Major League
Baseball reinstated Pete Rose.

(01:07:17):
I don't know if that meansanything to you.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:20):
I do know Pete Rose as a big name from when I
was a teenager, but I don't knowmuch more than that.

Jay Franze (01:07:26):
Living in the greater Cincinnati area.
He's a big deal here.
There's a road named after himand everything.
But he was on the CincinnatiReds but he's the one who got in
trouble for betting on baseball.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:37):
Oh, he was a player manager.

Jay Franze (01:07:39):
He managed the team, but he got in trouble for
betting on baseball.
But the thing is, this keepshim from being in the Hall of
Fame.
So now that he is reinstated,he's now eligible to be put in
the Hall of Fame.

Tiffany Mason (01:07:51):
Oh, so we'll see how that goes.

Jay Franze (01:07:56):
With him.
The big thing that I feel aboutit is he wasn't betting on his
team to lose, so he couldn'tthrow a game.
He was betting on them to winso I don't feel like he was
doing it in a malicious way totry to make money off the team,
like that right where somepeople, especially in the world
of boxing it has been known inthe past for people to throw a

(01:08:17):
fight in order to win money.

Tony Scott (01:08:21):
So anyways, I just wanted to mention that real
quick.

Jay Franze (01:08:24):
And then last week we mentioned my daughter's video
, her sign language video, andhow it was done.
You know it was what 12 000views that morning and then by
the time she came home fromschool it was around 40 000 yeah
, because I was going to say no.

Tiffany Mason (01:08:38):
I think it was more than that.
But yeah, okay, by the time shecame home from school.

Jay Franze (01:08:40):
Yeah, yeah, she came home from school it was 40 000,
I think.
Dinner time it was 60.
Well, it's up to like 220 rightnow.
So I mean that thing just keepsgoing so I'm sure it's probably
going to stabilize about now,but it's very impressive.

Tiffany Mason (01:08:55):
You would have thought that at 40,000 though
too, wouldn't you?

Jay Franze (01:08:58):
Yeah, I would have.
I would have thought it at 12,but it's up there and she's got
a lot of positive feedback.
For those who were not here atthat time, she did a cover song
from the play Hamilton and shedid it in sign language.
So it was very, very cool.
I was impressed with her, justas a father, and she released it

(01:09:21):
and she got a lot of feedbackfrom the deaf community.
My daughter is not deaf, she'shearing, so she does sign
language out of passion and shewants to be able to communicate
with the deaf.
So she did.

Tiffany Mason (01:09:33):
She did this video and it took off at
preston's graduation there was aguy that was like you know all
the sentences as fast as theperson was saying them big words
, and I was like dang, because Idon't know if you.
Well, I think I saw you try tosign something super simple,
maybe not, anyways, me.

Jay Franze (01:09:50):
No, I think it was her count.

Tiffany Mason (01:09:52):
No, no, it was at the end when she sign-languaged
mine, because that's the lastword of that song was mine, and
then she did this with the E.
Anyways, I didn't even do the Eright, sorry, I still didn't do
it right.
I got it at the same time A, b,c, d, E.
I can only do them in order.
Anyways, she did mine and thenshe did the E, like that.

(01:10:14):
And I was thinking about herduring the graduation because I
was like this guy's, like I'mlike that's what Bella could do.
She could like grow up and doall these sign language things.
So, anyways, I don't know, shewas in my mind.

Jay Franze (01:10:27):
There you go this weekend at the local comedy
venue here, the Funny Bone.
That's the big comedy venue.
Here the Funny Bone, that's thebig comedy venue.
There's two of them here.
That's the big one.
That's where all the commercialcomedians come to.
They have Big Jay Oakerson, buthe's coming to town and I'm
definitely going to go see thatshow.

(01:10:48):
I mean, I watch his videos allthe time.
It is my type of humor.
I mean he does a lot of crowdwork.
It's a lot of crowd work.
I don't think anything isscripted for him, but he's just
definitely got my sense of humorfor sure.
So Big Jay Oakerson, that's fun.

Tiffany Mason (01:11:07):
And I would imagine you don't have dance
competition because you said thelast one is a little ways off.

Jay Franze (01:11:12):
So you have a week off.
The last one is the end of June, so you have a week off and the
last one is the end of June.

Tiffany Mason (01:11:17):
Oh, got a couple of weeks off.

Jay Franze (01:11:19):
Anyways.
Yes, I'm anxious to go see himthis weekend.
He's going to be there Fridayand Saturday.

Tiffany Mason (01:11:26):
Cool Fun.

Jay Franze (01:11:27):
It's a really cool venue too.
It's the funny bone so thefunny bone in Cincinnati and
it's like three levels, so it'skind of a horseshoe shape going
down to the stage and so nomatter where you sit in the
place, it's a good seat.

Tiffany Mason (01:11:44):
I love that kind of venue yeah.

Jay Franze (01:11:46):
I love that kind of venue so I will give you the
rundown of how it went next.

Tiffany Mason (01:11:50):
Yes, we will expect a full report.
I hope you bring your paper andpen and duly note everything
that happens.

Jay Franze (01:11:56):
It will be duly noted.

Tiffany Mason (01:11:58):
Okay, well, I felt like we should just slip it
in there.

Tony Scott (01:12:05):
We got a new.

Tiffany Mason (01:12:06):
Pope Whoa, you back up, because I just said we
have a new Pope, we got to usesome soap and clean that up.
Because I just said we have anew pope, we got to use some
soap and clean that up.

Jay Franze (01:12:20):
It's got to be much less of a pause between those
two sentences.
Come on work where you placeyour pauses.
I think we should slip it inthere.

Tiffany Mason (01:12:29):
We've got a new pope.
Well, we do, we do, and I wasso intrigued by the whole
conclave thing.
I guess I've been under a rock.
I haven't been paying attentionwhen we've gotten new popes, so
this was the first time it wasreally on my radar.
So I can't remember.
I think we were just lookingfor a movie to watch.
I guess I've watched a lot ofmovies lately and we started the

(01:12:49):
movie the conclave and it waspretty good.
There's I don't know like ahandful of a-list celebrities in
it and it was kind of talkingabout, about like the dark
politics of getting a new popeand some of the divide and I
don't know.
I just thought like huh, it'ssupposed to be such a religious

(01:13:10):
institution and interesting thatthere's I mean, of course
there's politics.
Why would I think there wasn't?
But you know I'm naive in thatway.
So yeah, it was kind of arisque.
You know where I was like oh,interesting, so is it worth a?

Jay Franze (01:13:25):
watch.
Is it a recommendation in thewild?

Tiffany Mason (01:13:29):
I don't think so.
Okay, fair enough, it's prettyslow.
It's pretty slow and we made ithalfway through and I wasn't
like, ooh, I wonder what happensat the end.
So I don't think so.

Jay Franze (01:13:40):
First Pope from the States.

Tiffany Mason (01:13:42):
I know we got an American on our hands.

Jay Franze (01:13:45):
From Chicago Pope Leo.
Leo the 14th, fellow Italian14th.
You're going to stick with that, yeah.

Tiffany Mason (01:13:59):
But I do want to know if I'm wrong.
Oh God.
I'll tell you right now.
Oh my gosh.

Jay Franze (01:14:05):
Let's find out.

Tiffany Mason (01:14:07):
That's what I was telling you.
Xiv, it's 14, I think 14.

Jay Franze (01:14:14):
You are right, it's 14.

Tiffany Mason (01:14:19):
Yeah, I know hope , of course, that's what I was
saying.
14.
Well, I will tell you.
For mother's day, how was yourmother's day?
Did you treat your wife?
Did you shower her with gifts?
How was your mother's day didyou treat your wife?

Jay Franze (01:14:31):
no it would be for my mother, not my wife well, you
should treat your wife.
I do call her mommy from timeto time oh yikes, only when
nora's playing no um, she gotmad at me the first time
mother's day came around becauseI said it's not, you're not my

(01:14:52):
mother but don't you make yourgirls.
Yes, I had to do all that thisyear.
The biggest thing we did for mywife this year is she, because
we've got three kids.
Her car is a wreck and shewanted us to detail her car.

Tiffany Mason (01:15:07):
Nice.

Jay Franze (01:15:08):
I took Lucy the 10-year-old and we went down,
got it washed and then wedetailed it.
We spent probably an hour or soscrubbing it and she scrubbed
the carpets and we dideverything we could to make it
look I mean, she's got a fairlynew car and the thing looked
like it was beat to all hell.

Tiffany Mason (01:15:26):
She has three kids, three girls.
So anyways, A lot of livinghappens in cars when kids are
under the age of 10.

Jay Franze (01:15:34):
French fries everywhere.

Tiffany Mason (01:15:35):
yes, oh yeah.

Jay Franze (01:15:37):
Anyways, we cleaned the car for her and my eldest
daughter, bella, the 15-year-old.
She cleaned the whole housewhile we were cleaning the car.

Tiffany Mason (01:15:46):
Oh, that's awesome.

Jay Franze (01:15:47):
She didn't want to go for food.
We tried to take her for dinner.
She said no.
So what we did was she spentthe whole day in bed and just
relaxed and did whatever shewanted to do for the day while
we cleaned, and then for dinnerwe went out and got Chinese food
and brought it home to thehouse.

Tiffany Mason (01:16:02):
Nice, well, I ordered my mom a mug.
My mom loves frogs and sheloves green, and so I got her
this frog mug and it's a coffeemug and then inside is a ceramic
frog, it's like attached.
It's part of the mug, right.
And so then you pour coffee inyour mug and just the little

(01:16:24):
head sticks out, right, it'scute, and she likes frogs, and
so I was like that's kind offunny, and my mom it's right up
her alley.
So I sent that and then I wastelling Sean and Hannah about it
and they thought it was likethe dumbest idea and they were
like it's something you have tosee, yeah, she's like it was

(01:16:48):
like dust.
You can only fill your cup uphalfway.
I said no, you can fill yourcup up all the way and then as
you drink your drink, the frogslowly starts to appear.
And Sean and Hannah were likethat is dumb.
So then I told Preston, myoldest son, he's like oh my God,
I bet she's going to love it.
She loves frogs and Preston isme.

(01:17:08):
The only difference is theanatomy.
I mean, he is me through andthrough good, bad, all of it,
and so I love that.
When I told him, he was like Iknow I tell him sorry all the
time, and so I love that.
When I told him, he was like ohmy gosh, that's awesome.
I bet she loved that.
And I was like thank you, because Dad and Hannah thought
it was stupid, but to their, Imean, that matches what they did

(01:17:32):
for Mother's Day, which wasalmost nothing.

Jay Franze (01:17:38):
There you.
That matches what they did formother's day, which was almost
nothing.
There you go.
You know, I said happy mother'sday to my mother.

Tiffany Mason (01:17:42):
She didn't respond to me at all, just
throwing that out there yeah, yeah, I think that, like we're
just, we had a bunch of eventsand then on saturday afternoon I
said I don't think I'm doing.
Okay, I said I think I'mgetting sick and then by Sunday
I was sick, so I didn't reallywant to do anything.
Anyways, we did take Hannah.
She tried crab for the firsttime.
I love crab legs and so Hannahreally had wanted been wanting

(01:18:05):
to try crab legs, and so I said, okay, let's go get crab legs.
And they were delicious.
And she did not like thetexture.
She does not like the textureof meat, so this child has to
get protein in other ways.
So my Mother's Day was verymelancholy and it was really
nice because in the morning Iwas feeling bad for myself that

(01:18:25):
I had to run a coffee cart.
That night and my soon-to-bedaughter-in-law, my son's
girlfriend, she was like this ishow your son spends Mother's
Day and more like saying like hewasn't doing anything for her
for mother's day.
And I said, well, if it makesyou feel any better, I gotta
work tonight.
She's like I did too, and Isaid that actually does make me
feel better.
So I'm happy to know I'm notthe only one working on mother's

(01:18:46):
day.
You know we have these ideas.
I think that, like everybody'shaving these amazing mother's
day or father's day or christmasor whatever, where sometimes
it's really not all that it'scracked up to be, so hopefully,
you know, hopefully tomorrowthis all goes away and the sun

(01:19:08):
will come out again your crud mycrud, I'm over it.
I never get sick this often.
It must be you, j over it.
I never get sick this often.
It must be you, jay.

Jay Franze (01:19:17):
