The Fruits Of The Spirit Part 7; The Power Of Self-Control

Welcome to episode 13 of Joyful In Hope! This week we continue our look at the Fruits Of The Spirit and how studying them can strengthen our relationship with others and Christ! The Fruits Of The Spirit are Love, Joy, Peace, Forbearance, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control! This week we will be taking a look at Self-Control! We will talk about my personal experience with self-control and how in some areas I do well and other areas I really struggle. We will then look at what the world says about self-control, and it is saying a lot whether you see it or not. With all the worldly influences out there, it truly seems more and more difficult to exhibit self-control. The world truly has a "me" mentality and that makes it almost impossible in some circumstances to have self-control. But have faith that you can show self-control and fight the worldly influences just like Jesus fought the temptation of Satan in the wilderness. We will dive in and see how the Bible handles this topic and look to the word for guidance in our own lives.
