I was honored to have Dr. David Park on the show. We covered his leadership journey starting with immigrating to the U.S. as a small child and navigating and overcoming multiple challenges in medicine and education. We also dive deep into diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and how it pertains to building strong communities. Dr. Park is the Vice President and Founding Dean of Rocky Mountain Vista University—Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before relocating to Montana, Dr. Park led the development of the RVUCOM Southern Utah campus, where he served as the Vice President and Campus Dean. Prior to joining RVU, he served in various medical education leadership roles in Las Vegas, including department chair, residency program director, and assistant dean of graduate medical education. Dr. Park has been recognized nationally for his commitment to osteopathic medical education through numerous awards, including the American Osteopathic Foundation Educator of the Year Award in 2020. Dr. Park also earned the distinguished fellowship award from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and was elected as the 2023 President of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, which is the largest specialty organization in the osteopathic profession. He and his wife were born in South Korea and met in New York during college. They have two adult children who plan to attend medical school in the near future.
