In 2001, Mike achieved a groundbreaking milestone by becoming the first and only All Japan Appraisal Champion outside of Japan, cementing his status as one of the foremost experts in the field. His unique perspective bridges Japanese and American cultures and he has devoted himself to preserving and promoting the rich tradition of Japanese swordsmanship.
