In this exciting episode, the Word of God teaches us in Philippians 3:7-10, that the Apostle Paul suffered the loss of all things and counted them as rubbish that he may gain Christ.
The Apostle did not hoard anything. Everything he suffered as a loss he called it filth, trash, manure.
In the eternal scope of things, everything we accomplish in the flesh, everything we hold on to and are not willing to release to the Lord is a total waste.
Why do we refuse to surrender our stuff to the Lord? That stuff cannot save, deliver, or heal us.
Why do we refuse to get rid of the spiritual rubbish, the sin in our hearts, that continually builds us and separates us from a Holy God?
During this Lenten season, are we ready for a real spiritual cleansing?
The encouraging truth is when we have nothing left but Christ, we find that Christ is everything we need! When we gain Christ, we gain everything.
We end Part 3 of this biblical teaching with practical things to do. We must first commit to obeying the Lord and releasing everything that has become a hindrance in our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ must be first and highest priority in our lives daily.
