When most people hear of someone having weight loss surgery (also known as bariatric surgery) many of them automatically assume that the person took the easy way out. "If they only dieted and exercised, they wouldn't be so fat." "Why didn't they just stop eating?" "He or she cheated." Well I'm here to tell you, that's not the case. Weight loss surgery is HARDER and more DIFFICULT than losing weight "the natural way." There is a very lengthy approval process that a patient must go through BEFORE being approved. In this episode, I'm going to bust some myths, offer my honest opinions as well as my experiences as a gastric sleeve patient. I had the VSG on 2/28/2017 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, New York and was performed by Long Island Bariatric's Dr. Paayal Metha whom is affiliated with PBMC.
