Unknown (00:00):
What does a squirrel
have to do with making the kind
of quantum leaps in life? Thatleave people speechless? Hmm,
let's find out. Now listen, weall grapple with the universal
struggle to overcome fear ofchange. So we can expand our
horizons, so we can achieve ourreal potential in life. So we
(00:23):
can say, not today, Satan, tothe slow death, by mediocrity
that so many people succumb to.
And despite this universalstruggle, there are some people
that just take quantum leapstime and time again, and make it
look so easy. What are theydoing differently? And how can
you do more of what they'redoing to get the same results?
(00:44):
Well, let's talk about thatsquirrel. His name was Bob, at
least that's what I startedcalling him, you know, when I
found him, burying himself in avery large mound of mulch that
was around a bush. Now, this wasabout 20 years ago. So Bob's
head was sticking out. But mostof his body was under the mulch,
(01:05):
and he was using his adorablelittle arms and to pull the
mulch up over himself and coverthe rest of his body. Now, this
was just the strangest thing. Iwas curious. And obviously, I've
thought an awful lot about Boband the mulch over all of these
years. And the odd thing is,over these 20 years, what I've
(01:29):
noticed is that I think aboutBob, burying himself in the
mulch. Whenever I'm starting tomake a big leap, or a transition
in my own life, I always comeback to Bob. And when you
understand why it's going toempower you to make those
quantum leaps in absolute recordtime, this is what I have seen
(01:53):
in my own life, the time forthis wonderful transformation is
just getting shorter andshorter. Now, I do the same
thing that Bob did, I get my BBon, I go dark, I get quiet,
metaphorically, sort of coveringmyself with mulch under a bush.
And for the people outside ofme, this might look like a sign
(02:16):
of a problem, people might bereaching out to say, Hey, are
you okay? And I'm like, Yeah,I'm actually better than ever.
When you really step back for amoment and think about this, it
makes perfect sense. Becausejust like seasons change, just
like that caterpillar becomes abutterfly. And just like every
(02:38):
philosophical and religiousparable that we hear, involves
some form of really death andrebirth. And what this means is,
we have to let go of things. Andwe have to be willing to let go
of things and move away fromthem certain aspects of
ourselves certain things in ourlives, so that we can create the
(03:03):
conditions for the new self toemerge. Now, this is the
opposite of what we're reallytaught and railroaded into doing
in life. Everything that we aretaught in life, and that we
learn through our conditioningis the opposite of this. It's
all about holding on toeverything with this death,
(03:26):
grip, and desperation. And thisis a direct contrast to the
natural flow of things andevolution in life. All things
evolve. So when you have thatdeath, grip, and desperation
that you think you're holding onto something, what you're
actually doing is you're holdingyourself back, because you're
(03:49):
not creating the conditions inwhich you can evolve. And it's
scary. I mean, we started thiswhole conversation talking about
that universal fear that we allface of not wanting to change
for some reason, right? We justfeel that way we don't want to
change. So when I find myself inthis place, feeling these
feelings. I like to think of thecaterpillar, the caterpillar
(04:13):
gets into the cocoon, it's readyto turn into a pile of goo. And
actually the cells fight it,they don't want to change and
that's just shows you how normalthis is how natural This is. And
then the reason they do isbecause another type of cell
comes into the process. And I amnot making this up, look it up.
(04:33):
These cells are called imaginalcells. So when these imaginal
cells arrive on the scene, thatis when everything starts to
change, and the imaginal cellsare what give the directions to
the cells to do all the thingsthey need to do to form the
butterfly. So it's important toallow yourself this process So,
(04:57):
so often we want to stay the oldperson, right but still have the
change, still have the newsituation but stay the old
person. Like we're just gonnaslip into it and poof,
everything's all the suddenunicorns and butterflies. But
there is this Bob in the mulchtime, right? That is very
(05:18):
important, bawled in the mulchis the caterpillar in the
cocoon. And this is when andwhere the magic really happens.
It really, really is. And, youknow, we just so often we want
to skip it, we get frustrated,we don't want to go through it,
and then there's never anychange. But the real reason
(05:40):
nothing changes is because wekeep staying the same. No, Bob,
no butterfly. That's just how itis. You've got to have the
courage to embrace the unknown.
If you're going to expand intoyour best self and into your
(06:03):
best life. Listen, our horizonsare not going to change when our
habits don't change. If you seethe same people every day, if
you do the same things everyday, you're gonna live the same
life. I call this the so soyou're gonna love it. Same old,
(06:26):
same old, the so so. So ifyou've got a death grip on the
so so well, then your life isalso going to be so so same old,
same old, no Bob, no butterfly.
The quantum leaps, the reallybig leaps, the ones that you
love, the ones that you bragabout, the ones that you could
(06:48):
not even imagine living yourlife without. They all begin in
unfamiliar places in life. ThoseBob moments when you're burying
yourself in the mulch, and yousay, you know, I'm just gonna
take a step back, take a momenthere to reimagine myself, come
(07:11):
out, renewed, rejuvenated, reimagined, re born. We all do
this so many times over in ourlives. Evolution is the very
nature and the very joy ofliving it really really is. Not
(07:31):
so So evolution and if you'rewilling to invest in some Bob
time, you can make it happenfaster and faster for yourself.
I absolutely promise you this.
When you find your life gettinga little stale, please just
(07:55):
remind yourself, no so so. No,Bob, no butterfly. Change is
good. I will release my deathgrip on this also allow myself
to take a quantum leap. I can dothis. I want to do this
