Voiceover (00:00):
Welcome to the Leaders' Perspective podcast.
Where we talk to Triple Threatleaders about the people
products, trends and experiencesthat influence business. I'm now
pleased to introduce your host,Jason Goldberg.

Jason Goldberg (00:23):
Welcome, everyone to the leaders
perspective. If you didn'talready recognize me from the
cover photo, my name is JasonGoldberg. And I'll be your host
as we take 30 minutes everyother week to learn about the
lives, careers and perspectivesof Triple Threat leaders. Let's
take a step back. We've allexperienced jobs where we've had

(00:44):
managers some good some bad.
Have you ever had theopportunity in your career, or
in life to work with or interactwith a truly amazing leader. And
by that I mean someone who isintelligent, kind, a lifelong
learner, someone who's generous, someone who sets clear direction
and the team follows and trustssomeone who creates and fosters
an environment of teamwork andpassion. This podcast is meant

(01:07):
for us to learn from thoseleaders, the people who drive
change in a positive way. How dothey think what motivates them?
How do they get to where theyare? What are their
philosophies, and while all ofour guests will be triple threat
leaders, the topics will vary, and will cover hot topics in
business and society. And Icertainly welcome feedback from

(01:27):
our audience. So if you have anyideas for topics or guests,
please message me. I'vementioned the term Triple Threat
leader now a few times, so let'stalk about that for a minute.
Unfortunately, I wasn't smartenough to come up with that
term. That term was coined bythe esteemed Dean Bill Boulding
of my alma mater, the FuquaSchool of Business at Duke
University. So what makes aTriple Threat leader this is

(01:50):
someone who has equal parts iqplus eq plus DQ IQ. Most of you
know this is the intelligencequotient. strong leaders need
the intellectual horsepower todefine a path and a future for a
business and to direct it on adaily basis. EQ or emotional
intelligence is critical to workeffectively with teams. high EQ
leaders are aware that emotionscan drive our behavior and

(02:13):
impact people. high EQ leadersmanage those emotions, both our
own and others. And finally, DQdecency quotient, this is the
trait and behaviors whereby aleader values respects and truly
cares for others. This is theleader who realizes that it's
our job to elevate others, andto help them do their best to
have the humility to learn fromothers to embrace different

(02:35):
perspectives. And this is theleader who has the integrity to
be honest, transparent, andaccountable to ourselves and
others. So now that we'vecovered that, you might be
asking yourself, well, who isthis guy? And why should we be
listening to him? Well, I've hadan incredible 25 year career in
consulting and financialservices, where I've had the
privilege of working under someincredible Triple Threat

(02:56):
leaders. But I also had toendorse some poor managers as
well. But along the way, both inschool and in the workforce,
I've created my own style, and Ilike to think that I embody the
traits of a Triple Threatleader, and that I'm thoughtful
when building leading managingor consulting to businesses. I
promise along the way in eachepisode, I'll give you a sneak

(03:16):
peek into my life as well as myphilosophies. And what makes me
tick. Each episode will be adialogue with a Triple Threat
leader from business, politics, health care and education and
others, and the sector reallydoesn't matter. The style and
mindset does. So that just aboutwraps up this introduction of
the leaders perspective. We willbe streaming on Apple podcasts,

(03:38):
Spotify and YouTube, so pleasegive us a like and a follow. Our
first episode will be releasedthis week in just a few days, so
please keep an eye out. Thanksfor watching. And as always,
have a wonderful day and be yourbest self.
