Thom H. Boehm is a knitting machine technician at Stanfield’s Ltd., a textile mill in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. He has worked there for the last 20 years, and before that was an English teacher in Japan. At Stanfield’s, although down in old textile lingo as a knitter/fixer, he does whatever needs to be done to keep the room functioning as well as possible, and this includes repairing and maintaining a host of different styles of circular knitting machines.
In the future he hopes write a book about the textile mill where he works and his experiences that he has had there. The last few years he has realized that he has a passion for writing, and has been working on honing his skill as a writer in preparation for some day tackling a book.
His top accomplishments in life include a family that he loves, a house and yard with plants and trees that he enjoys watching grow, and a house full of animals that keep everyone feeling loved and occupied on dark and dreary days.
