Yes, ma'am, you are you are.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
So I'm going to start
you off a little different
today.
Okay, can you give us a60-second pitch right of JAD
Infection Control, what it isand why to choose JAD Infection
Control experts?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Okay, 60 seconds.
60 seconds, no pressure, yeah.
So JAD Infection Controlexperts is really about being
proactive, helping organizationsproactively address all
concerns and be regulatorycompliant, improve patient
safety quality.
What sets us apart is the factthat we are not just there
(01:20):
reactively, we're therepartnering with you.
We provide the just-in-timetraining and we're there to make
sure that you're compliant allthe time.
We don't just focus oninfection control.
My background is fullregulatory compliance, so all of
CMS and Joint Commission, dnv,everything.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
That was good.
I think that was 60 seconds.
I was counting my head, I'mlying, but alright, so let's
talk credentials, because ifsomeone was to look you up, ms
Joy, now this is what it saysbehind your name okay, bsn, mba,
ha, hyphen CR, rn, hyphen WCC,hyphen CRRN, hyphen, wcc, hyphen
(02:07):
, hacp, hyphen, cms, hyphen CIC,hyphen AL, hyphen, cip.
Alright, you want to take?
You want me?
I don't know if you rememberall what I just said, because
that was a lot.
Do you want me to take?
You want to go row by row oryou tell me?
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Okay, let's see if I
can run it down.
Yeah, run it down.
Speaker 2 (02:25):

Of course, yes, Of course.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing,mm-hmm, mba, healthcare
Administration, crrn.
Certified Rehabilitation RNOkay, wcc.
(02:51):
Certified Wound Care Nurse, cjcp yeah, certified Joint

Cmscic yeah, so you're missingsome.
Okay, I'm missing.
Good, it's HACP you have, sothat you're missing some.
(03:14):
Okay, I'm missing.
Good, it's a, h, a, c, p, dash,cms.
So it's healthcare.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Us accreditation
certified professional for cms
got it okay.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
cic is the Infection
Control and Epidemiology
Certification, and ALCIP is theAdvanced Leadership in Infection
Control and Prevention.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Wow, wow.
So you have to be a lifelonglearner.
Oh, yes, right, you lovelearning.
You love innovation as well.
Yes, so, just speaking of that,in regards to affection control
, what are some innovativetactics or things that you've
implemented with yourorganization?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
So that's a great
question.
Innovation depends on the needof the organization.
So sometimes there are a lot offacilities that are still using
paper uh tools to gather dataand this and that, so bringing
them tools that are actuallyproviding, as they're doing
(04:16):
audits, as we're going throughwhatever we're seeing in the
organization, putting that datainto, let's just say, an iPad
that has an overall, what youcall I'm missing the word, but
but dashboard so at the end ofthe day, rather than sitting
(04:41):
there and having to count up ordo Excel or put something in a
different thing.
It provides a dashboard.
It provides it for all of thehealthcare leaders that need to
have it, and it also can givethem the opportunity to remind
them if it's time for you to dosome rounding.
Let's get going, because thisis waiting on you.
(05:04):
This is your task for the day,and it helps the administration
be involved, helps those nursemanagers or whoever the leaders
are, be involved, and it's awhole.
It's a whole process, got it?
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Got it.
So if you go back toInspiration and Origins, so if
you go back to inspiration andorigins, right, and I will say
you definitely, I see why youstarted your own health care
consulting firm, but I want tohear your why.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
My why was it was
funny.
I hit a spot in my life where Isaid I said it to my husband
I'm doing all of this.
It's a well-oiled machine.
I want to do something formyself, and so we created JAD.
(05:54):
Jad is Joy, asia and Daryl, which is my husband and my son,
and so we made it a family thingand he's been supportive.
But my why is I really want tohelp organizations?
I saw the struggle.
I was in the struggle for many, many years over 24 years of
(06:19):
understanding what it's like, and so my why is I want to be
the person that's able to takethe pressure off of you but
still make you look good, sothat, at the end of the day, no
one knows who my clients are.
But at the end of the day, they're shining because of the
work that's being done, and it'swork off their shoulders.
All they really have to do iscontinue and support it.
(06:41):
Right, right.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
And that shows, too,
your origins and the impact of
your family.
I love the fact I never knewthat.
You just taught me something.
Your family members are theyalso in health care as well?
None of them.
Okay, got it, but y'all arepart of the legacy though, yes,
so I love that.
That's actually really cool.
So, trends and compliance andinfection control what are you
(07:03):
watching right now?
What was something that you seegoing on in the industry that
you maybe you've attended arecent seminar or conference
about?
Speaker 1 (07:17):
You can share with
y'all.
Great question we just got backfrom APIC 2025.
That was it was.
It was amazing, but what it waswas eye-opening in a certain
way.
We're still doing the work.
So, though this administrationhas kind of pulled back on
resources and all the thingsthat people find important, and
it doesn't matter which side ofthe aisle you're on, people find
(07:38):
important and it doesn't matterwhich side of the aisle you on,
everybody needs healthcare andeverybody deserves quality
healthcare, quality outcomes, and so being on the forefront of
that and being able to makesure that that work continues
(07:59):
without having the resources, you know that's difficult, but
we're still in the fight.
We're not giving up on thehealth of our country and the
nation, not here, but globally, because, think about it,
whatever happens out there comeshere.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yes, yes, so.
So, with that being stated, Iwant to ask you you go into a
situations.
Uh, if you have a client, Iwant to ask you you go into
situations If you have a client.
I want to talk scenarios here.
Okay, Do you have a nightmarescenario that you could share
with us?
Little drama, here we're at.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
A little drama.
A little drama, here we're at.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
You don't have to say
any titles.
Of course not.
Yeah, I don't want to put youin trouble.
No, no.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Nightmare scenario is
you go in and you find rampant
infections, which is why youwere called in in the first
place.
Right right, you sit down, yousee policies and procedures that
(08:59):
are canned from whoever ownedit before or canned from the
organization and they don'tapply to any of the setting that
they're currently in.
And then, worse is when youactually try to address those
(09:19):
things and they tell you thatthey've got it.
They got it covered.
They got it covered.
Oh man, they got it.
But I'm here to show you youdon't have it covered.
But hey, I'm here to please myclients, so I'm not going to
call them out, I'm just going toput my report together and keep
it pushing.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Got it.
So that leads to my nextquestion, actually.
So what's your message to anySNF or post-acute leader who
wants to get ahead right, whowants to not just get by?
Speaker 1 (09:51):
So if you want to get
ahead and not just get by, I
recommend you check out JADinfection control experts,
because what we're here to do isbe proactive and help you not
just meet the regulations, butexceed them, okay, and so that
your outcomes can be exactlywhat you want them to be, yeah,
(10:14):
and that you and yourorganization and your employees
can be proud to work there.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
I love that.
That's a great answer.

change that I want to make inthe world and that I want my
children to be able to look upto me and say she was that girl.
