Thanks for tapping in to The Life N Times Network !

Last week was a wild one for fight fans, and The Fight #58 brought it all together. The UFC cage saw Steve Garcia explode with a blistering first-round TKO over David Onama, setting the tone for a weekend full of chaos. Over in Karate Combat, Ilyas Khamzin and Adrian Weathersby went to war in a fast-paced, technical showdown that had the pit glowing—Khamzin’s precision and pressure earning him the win. Then DBX wrapped things up in heavyweight fashion, as Gable Steveson stormed through Billy “Big Sexy” Swanson in just fifteen seconds, reminding everyone that pure power still rules the ring. Three promotions, three statement victories combat sports at its finest.

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
It's Lane LA, the fight, episode 58.
Let's get into it.
Listen, this was a low-key weekof fights, bro.
Like, low-key, we had a greatweek.
Like, low-key, all these threeevents equals one big event.
We had DBX, we had KarateCombat, we had UFC Fight Night,

(00:20):
Vegas 101.
All three cards did notdisappoint.
I had a good time watching allof these cards.
I appreciate everybody gettingthe bag.
Let's appreciate that.
I like that fighters have pathsoutside the UFC.
I like that fighters haveoptions outside of whatever

(00:41):
combat sport they originallystarted.
All these new leagues beingbrought up.
These guys get options to feedthemselves.
Speaking of people who wanted tofeed themselves, we had Brian
Battle out there hungry for KO,gets a TKO in the first round.
He fought kill shot.
I almost thought Brian was aboutto get his ass beat, bro.
It was a tumultuous affair.

(01:03):
I thought he was going to getKO'd.
He took a lot of shots.
But I think this is thedifference in caliber of a UFC
athlete versus any otherathlete.
Like Brian Battle was born forbattle.
He survived the, you know, theearly attack and finished his
opponent.
Um the guy couldn't get up, andwhen he got punched again with

(01:26):
the follow-up, if he would havekept following up for five
seconds, which is the rules, yeah, Brian would have uh done
some real damage to that guy.
So I think that was justified.
What was justified even more wasGabriel Stevenson, Olympic
wrestler, stepping his toe intothe striking world.
He beats Billy Swanson by TKO inthe first 15 seconds.

(01:52):
Listen, these athletes comingfrom Olympic backgrounds are
different.
Look at Kayla Harrison, look atHenry Sehudo, look at even Andre
Ward, Floyd Mayweather, SugarRay Robinson, people who come
from an Olympic pedigree.
It's very different.
These guys had to learn how tobeat the world with one skill

(02:15):
set.
And now you're giving them moretools to win, and they have such
a drive that you can't reallybeat that.
Gable Stevenson looked great.
He obviously didn't look likehe's a world beater.
I think he's gonna get built upby the UFC.
I think he's the nextheavyweight face for the UFC.
I would love to see him in theUFC.

(02:35):
I think he has the goods.
I think he beats anybody, especially in the heavyweight
division.
He can beat a lot of people.
He can beat a lot of people.
Like he is damn near challengingfor the belt before he even
steps in there because he canbeat a lot of these guys.
Now, we get into karate combat.
We got Uriah Hall.
He gets the W against MarcusPerez.

(02:57):
Perez got hurt.
It was sad to see.
But, you know, Uriah Hall waspiecing him up before that.
So I was on the side of JudgesDuddles and UD.
Shout out to Uriah Hall.
He's a legend.
Cosma undefeated Adrian for the,you know, the main event over
there at Karate Combat.
Like Karate Combat is great ifyou like striking.

(03:18):
Like, if you don't likestriking, then you shouldn't be
watching Karate Combat.
You shouldn't be watching OneChampionship.
You shouldn't be watching bareknuckle DBX.
Like, I see people complainingabout these sports.
But like if you're here for theaction, that's where you go,
man.
Like, I had a good time.
Like, I like watching a MuayThai match, a kickboxing match,
a boxing match.

(03:39):
Because all these skills, ifyou're just a casual watcher,
right, you can also see how ittranslates to other fighters.
Like, you can clearly see MMAfighter with a wrestling base
versus an MMA fighter with akickboxing, a kicks, a
kickboxing base.
It's totally different.
And uh it's good to see becausenow you know how to bet.

(04:01):
Okay, speaking of bets, we gotthe big, big fight, big card
coming up in two weeks.
We will be doing a pre-episodeabout that, who I'm leaning
towards, how I'm betting, andeverything like that.
If I know you, I'll show youwhat I've won.
If you want to have some fun,you want to bet with us, man.
Like it, it's it's really it'sdifferent over here.

(04:23):
I really don't miss.
But uh getting into the UFCcard, listen, we had just last
week an eye poke stop a mainevent heavyweight match.
We have another heavyweightmatch as the co-main Waldo
versus Auntie.
And Waldo gets poked in the eye.

(04:46):
Aunty is Tom Aspinell's partner.
He before this fight, he said toeveryone, I would never poke
anybody in the eye.
I never did that.
I don't know how people do that, and he just did it.
Listen, people, stop beinghypocritical.
Gain made a mistake.
Tom did not take the easy wayout.
Okay?
Everybody gets affecteddifferently.

(05:08):
Let's try to believe thesefighters, besides the ones that
are gambling.
You know, people are lettingthemselves be finished.
This guy got dropped from theUFC because he let himself get
finished in the first roundbecause the odds were good.
This is no bullshit.
Watch how you bet and who you'rebetting on.
You gotta know like their likefinancial stances and everything

(05:29):
like that, too.
Like, shit is wild, bro.
Shit is shit is really wild.
Because like a fighter could belosing and he can have somebody
bet side money to lose a certainway to cash out.
So just watch yourself.
Just like Auntie should havewatched himself, he got the eye
poke.
He thought he got the knockout.

(05:49):
I'm sure he did a drilling dumpwhen he won temporarily, and
then Waldo stepped back in.
He said he could he couldcontinue, and then he knocked
him out.
And that's how that's whathappens, man.
That's what happens.
Anything happening in thisheavyweight division, it is
fucked up, but they are gonnause that against Tom.
And listen, man, that is Tom'sproblem.

(06:12):
He has to deal with theheavyweight division.
The heavyweight division doesnot respect Tom right now.
Everybody's making jokes.
He gotta go out there and fucksomebody up.
That's just how it goes.
Now, speaking of fuckingsomebody up and how it goes,
Steve Garcia gets David Onamaout there and won.
Listen, there was a clear, aclear difference in striking.

(06:35):
Like, I don't think their skilllevel should ever be matched up
again.
He had no answer for Steve's uhcontrolled aggression,
controlled MMA striking, andpretty boxing.
He just lit him up.
He did nothing, like it wascrazy.
And David Onama is not a badfighter.
I don't I think he's one ofthose guys who has to be the

(06:57):
hammer because he was the nowand he got he got squashed, man.
But shout out to everybodytapping in the fight episode 58.
We will be betting on the nextUFC card.
Tap in UFC 322.
You already know what we'regonna do.
Cashing out every day for you.

(07:19):
Tapping in the fight, right?
