E.Z., Mark, and Oscar set out on a journey to retrace Ray’s footsteps in evangelism, beginning in Tahiti. Though Tahiti is often viewed as an exotic getaway, the guys were reminded that it’s a land in spiritual need. On their first day, they encountered a group still out from the night before, and E.Z. boldly shared the gospel. Though one man started the conversation with a flamboyant demeanor, a visible change came over him as he listened. The guys emphasized the biblical principle of giving the law to the proud and grace to the humble. They stressed that salvation belongs to the Lord; their role is to remain faithful.

From Tahiti, the journey continued to Fiji. Mark recalled starting to evangelize, only to be told by security guards they couldn’t evangelize there. The guys crossed the street and quickly found someone open to the message—Oscar shared the gospel with a man named Peeta who immediately began weeping and asked how to follow Jesus. Oscar encouraged him to start by sharing with his nearby family. Peeta, living near a local chief’s home, brought the guys there, leading to a touching moment where the chief’s wife teared up hearing the gospel. E.Z. was deeply moved by the humility and openness they encountered.

Next, the team traveled to Australia, where they balanced fun—like visiting a zoo—with the challenges of open-air preaching. Mark used a heckler as an illustration, while Oscar encountered initial rejection from two women who eventually agreed to talk when he appealed to their values. By leveraging cultural touchpoints, they found ways to engage in meaningful gospel conversations. In New Zealand, the guys visited where Ray was saved and began evangelizing. For Mark, walking through Ray’s past was especially moving. They preached, connected with locals, and visited Ray’s childhood home. The trip concluded in Hawaii, where even more opportunities to share the gospel arose.

During a final Q&A, the guys addressed topics like how The Way of the Master began, the importance of redeeming downtime, and practical evangelism tips. Ray encouraged solo open-air preaching if done safely, and the team emphasized using time wisely. They affirmed that women can and should share the gospel, citing biblical examples like the woman at the well and Mary Magdalene. For those sharing with atheist family members, they advised appealing to conscience and loving boldly, noting that prayer is vital in evangelism. They concluded by addressing feelings of unworthiness, reminding listeners that grace covers all, and it’s not about us—it’s about Christ.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, I remember we were eating lunch up in that
area, right, and I look over atOscar and I'm like what is going
on?
And I look over at Oscar andthe guy had his hand on the
shoulder, they're holding ontoeach other and I just remember
looking, I go is the guythrowing up?
I mean, it really seemed likethat because there were so many
tears that were running down andwe captured it on camera, so

(00:23):
many tears that were coming downthe guy's face.
The next thing I know, we arenow inside of this hut and
you're preaching the gospel tothe family, and now was it the
wife of the chief.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Yeah, the chief's wife, one of the wives, because
we were at the chief's mother'shouse and his wife took us to
the mother's house across fromtheir house and I didn't know
what to expect.
I'm thinking we're gonna getkilled here.
What's going on?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
And yeah, yeah and then you share the gospel.
And it was so neat, I mean.
They have nothing, but theyrealize that what they needed
was Christ.
And to see you unashamedly talkabout who God is and the law,
and then the gospel, and Christcrucified, it just made.

(01:08):
I mean, if that was the onlything we did, it would have made
the whole trip absolutely worthit.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
What do you do?
What do you get friends?
When you take an Arab, aMexican and a white boy and send
them to preach the gospel inthe Pacific Rim?
You get a tabbouleh burritothat can't jump.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Audience laughter cue , yes Ray my audience laughter.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yeah, that's what you get friends.
Yeah, that's what you getfriends.
And that's what happened.
Because Ray Comfort, who sathere in the comfort of sunny
Southern California, where hewould ride his bike with his dog
, sam, and go to Cerritos-College.
Oh, did I say Sam?
Yes Too soon.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
It was too soon, too soon.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yes, ray sat in comfort as he sent us to
experience torment and torturein the Pacific Rim countries.
But we did it, friends, andtoday is a special episode.
We are live, believe it or not.
You guys know we're live.
So that means we can't edit allthe crazy things you do, pinch
yourself, which we never doanyway.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
This is really cool, man.
I did not expect it to lookthis good.
Seriously, you see that one.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
No, look at that, see , lucy.
Oh, that is too cool.
Can we do a close-up?

Speaker 3 (05:43):
That is too cool so again livingwaterscom forward.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Oh, this is so cool.
You haven't seen that one.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yeah, did you notice his life size?
I'm not going to say it rightLife size.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Get a life size bobblehead of Ray Comfort.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Well, friends, we are so excited.
Look those of you that watchthe podcast.
You know that this, for us, isnot work right.
This is fellowship.
You know that this, for us, isnot work right.
This is fellowship.
We just finished doing somerecordings earlier and we leave
this set buzzing with joy, because this is what the
Christian life is about.
We hope that we model for youguys the kind of life you should

(06:39):
live in community with otherbelievers being able to just
talk about the Word, talk aboutthe Lord, laugh with each other,
harass each other.
That can be spiritual too, andso we're excited.
We're really excited aboutdoing this, because we're going
to have the opportunity torelive what was, for me, one of

(06:59):
the greatest adventures of mylife the Pacific Rim trip that
we did, of my life, the PacificRim trip that we did.
There was a time when RayComfort used to travel before he
became a bobblehead.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
What are you talking about?
Yeah, Ray's got to startwalking around Now we can take
him with us wherever we go.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
That's funny, but, ray, you used to travel with us.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yes, I travel on 2,000 flights, 2,000 flights,
and one day I said I had enough,I'm done, I could take my shoes
off.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Yeah Well, friends, oscar talked about one of the
sort of premiums that we givefor some of you who give you can
get an opportunity to come toLiving Waters.
You'll actually get the chanceto see Ray Comfort in a big
picture hanging on one of ourwalls of him sleeping in a big
picture hanging on one of ourwalls of him sleeping in a
luggage hold in a train inEurope.

(07:49):
Ray, you actually did that.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
You climbed up Well you can't lie down on the seats
in a train, but you can lie downif you're little.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
But look how logically he's approaching this.
Well, you can't, there you are,so I'll jump up and lie down.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
There was no sign saying not to do it so I did it,
yeah, jumped up and lied down.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
There was no sign saying not to do it.
So I did it.
Yeah, Like the sign in Israelthat said no shorts.
Oh, that's right, Troublemaker, said our tour guide.
Mark.
Yeah anyway, Ray, it was funwhen you traveled with us.
So now you send us off and wego and then you stay here and do
commentary.
So Ray is a part of that season, friends, and it's kind of cool
because you're going to see Rayon the streets here interacting

(08:24):
with people and sharing thegospel and then commenting on
the torment that we endured.
Mark.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
What, what a trip?
Huh, I don't remember it.
No it was a trip.
You know.
What really stood out to me isthat I'm such a weak swimmer.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
And I remember, oh, I'm remembering that.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Were we in Fiji, or was it Tahiti, Cook Islands, the
Cook Islands?
Okay.
So I said, man, hey, I'd liketo be able to kind of hold it
was one of our guides.
I'd like to just kind of holdonto your shoulder where we're
kind of swimming.
He's all no, you can stand.
I'm like, yeah well, I'm notthe strongest swimmer, and he
goes no, but you can stand.

(09:03):
You literally can stand.
We're not taking you out todeep end.
You don't have much of a weakswimmer.
I actually am.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Is this the ocean or a swimming pool?
That was the ocean.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, it was the ocean.
So he allowed me to just kindof hold onto his shoe.
One time it was his flipper, whatever that is, and then it
made things worse.
At one time he's trying to swimdown with the um, what are
those?
The?

Speaker 3 (09:24):
turtles, turtles, did you try?

Speaker 1 (09:25):
standing.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
I tried it didn't work for me.
Deep it was a half a foot.
Was it very clear water?
Tahiti had incredibly clearwater.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
That's where easy got stung.
Well, I'll tell you guys, youknow it's, it's crazy how you
can envision yourself doingsomething and then you find
yourself doing it and it'snothing like you thought it was
going to be.
Because I remember I don't knowif you guys remember, but the
cook islands, they had gone outto test the waters and they came
back and they said, man, thecurrent is really intense and

(09:54):
we're not sure.
And then we're like, oh, andwe're, I'm looking out, I'm like
looks fine, no big deal.
Man, I'll tell you, I I thoughtI was gonna drown because, my,
because my legs, well, they gaveme the stupid fin thingies and
I could, I couldn't figure out,and my legs were cramping up,
you mean you guys know, I haveone chicken.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
What's that?

Speaker 3 (10:13):
it's not fin things flippers, flippers yeah and you
know I have one chicken legbecause I had polio when I was a
kid, so my left leg is weak andI'm like ah, and I'm cramping
and the current was intense.
I kept feeling I was, yeah, seriously, and then I get stung
by that jellyfish.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
I just remember looking up and seeing easy like
full-blown, trying to get downas low as possible, and I don't
think he ever broke the surfacefloor.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
It was hard to go down, it was ridiculous.
I don't get it either.
I don't understand how to do itFlippers or yeah, so I remember
swimming underneath you.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
At one point I was like 20 feet down below us, just
so you were diving is that whatwas going?

Speaker 3 (10:48):
we were snorkeling, snorkeling but it was, it was an
intense current and they weretaking us like on the circuit
and I was getting angry becausethese guys were like the, the
tour guides or whatever theywere like.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
This is nothing for that it was great whatever oscar
I have to tell you, I wassnorkelingling in Hawaii and I
was with the director of amissionary thing and he went
down snorkeling and I put myhand on the top of his snorkel
thing and I said to myself he'sgoing to come up any minute.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
You did not, Ray, I did and he came up I haven't
been asked back what it's likewhen you told that and he went
down and he sniffed and he cameup choking and stuff Always
causing trouble Ray.
Comfort.
Yeah, again, friends, as areminder, please send in your

(11:32):
questions Again.
We're going to do a Q&A at thelatter end of this.
And, oscar, what's the websiteagain where they can go to
partner with us?

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Livingwaterscom forward slash Pacific.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Rim yeah, get yourself that bobblehead friends
.
Okay.
So we've done a lot of seasonsI mean, this was our 10th and
what we really wanted to do was, first of all, we wanted to
trace Ray Comfort's footsteps,in a sense, his tiny little
footsteps.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Teeny tiny little footsteps.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Little baby steps, booties, yeah, and so that was,
and I will get to New Zealand, but it was what a journey it was
.
Honestly, for me, it was inmany ways revolutionary because
I was able to really get a sensefor what God did through your

(12:23):
reign, especially when we werein New Zealand.
I think that was the highlightmoment for us in different ways.
But, yeah, we started off andit was a lot of planning, it was
a lot of orchestrating and welaunched, took off and we landed
in Tahiti.
That's where it was first, didyou?

Speaker 4 (12:44):
get there before us.
Oscar, I did.
I got there one day earlierbecause there was an opportunity
.
Eddie Roman, our producer, found an opportunity in which
there was a bunch of youngadults that were there on
mission and we got to host amini one-day evangelism class in
which we taught them how topreach the gospel, use the law,

(13:05):
and it was amazing, they wereall really encouraged by.
A handful of them were alreadyfollowing Living Waters and
others were hearing the idea ofusing law and evangelism for the
very first time, and yeah, so Iwent out one day early to do
that, yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Yeah, and then we caught up with you.
We got there and, yeah, youknow, ray, you went to Tahiti as
a teenager.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yes, I, had a rich aunt and uncle that put us on a
pleasure cruiser called theFlavia.
That wasn't anything likepleasure cruisers, it's like a
little dingy compared to them.
But we went to Tahiti, fiji, samoa and I think it was yeah,
it was a great time.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Yeah, and I didn't fully grasp this.
I'm thinking Tahiti, it's itsown country, but in essence it's
a part of France.
I guess it's called FrenchPolynesia, right, kind of that
region, that area, and it was soneat to land there and to see
missionaries serving.
And I wanna say this becauseit's important.

(14:04):
Again, people think this.
Because it's important, like, again, people think, oh, it's an
exotic place, and they almostfeel guilty going there because
it's like you know, we alwaysjoke, oh, I'm gonna go be a
missionary in Hawaii, you know,or whatever.
But hey, people there need thegospel and it's not all that you
think, it is all.
This paradise there's.
You, you know, in a lot of theseplaces there's a deep history

(14:28):
of demonic activity, you know, tied in with the, the local and
tribal religions and man.
They, they face intensespiritual warfare, intense
attacks, and so, anyway, wedidn't know what to expect.
This was, this was our go,there was obviously beauty in
that place.
And then we hit the first day.

(14:49):
We get out of our vehicles,we're heading toward a
marketplace, which is where wewere going to go, and then our
friends who were there guidingus ran into someone and, oscar,
I'd love for you to take it fromthere.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Yeah, it was amazing and this is a testament to you
Easy, being ready, always inseason and out, so let's call it
a staging area.
We get out of our cars andwe're getting mic'd up and we're
ready to go walk maybe a couplehundred yards away from us into
a market center where we'replanning to preach the gospel
one-on-one, in both open air andpassing by us as this group of

(15:27):
people.
Mind you, it's like 11.30, 12o'clock in the afternoon and
they were going home frompartying the night before.
Um seemed intoxicated.
Two of them were dressed aswomen and you, ready in season
and out, started preaching thegospel and remind me you.

(15:47):
Right before starting to talkto them, it was pointed out that
one of them was a female, orafterwards.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Yeah Well, I was heading toward the encounter and
I'm thinking, okay, well, youknow, okay, I'm going to witness
to this woman, and then ourfriend says, um, that's a man,
by the way.
I'm like what.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
How did he know?
Because he definitely did notlook like a female, didn't look
like it, didn't look like a male.
Yeah, he didn't look like afemale, yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
And I, you know, they just kind of I think they have
a sense for that because theysee it so often and so, yeah, so
we walk up and I'm like, okay, well, what do I do, Ray?
You always, you always, peoplealways throw this at you.
How do you witness to this kindof person?
How do you witness to that kindof person?
How do you witness to thesekinds of people?
What's your answer, Ray?
Just like everybody else, that's right right you have to

(16:33):
lie.
Yeah, you just share the gospel.
There's no partiality in that, you know, and we don't have to
focus in right Ray on whateverit is, whether it's
homosexuality or transgenderism.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
You want the ear.
You don't want to poke them inthe eye.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Yeah, and what do you always say?
They're damned despite theirhomosexuality or transgenderism.
So you can use the law to bringthe knowledge of sin and then
bring the gospel in, so yeah.
So I started the conversationand it was cool.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
You did exactly that and, mark, you probably remember
this person started out veryflamboyant and obnoxious and
there was a moment when, wheneasy was being faithful.
We're like sobriety set in.
You remember that?
I don't.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
No.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
I remember it distinctly because there was a
lot of yeah, giddiness and likelight hardness, and then I
started going through a lot andthen it was like this whoa this
yeah, this calm.
I remember that you rememberthat?
Yeah, right Watched it.
Yeah, so Tahiti was reallygreat.
And then, mark, I'd love you totalk about the time we had with

(17:45):
those folks where we sat aroundand instructed them in
evangelism.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Oh, the students at the Bible college, right?
Oh yeah, what a treat.
People that were notnecessarily equipped in the area
of using the law.
Listen, living Waters kind ofhas a two part message.
Right, use the law of God tobring the knowledge of sin and
stop using life enhancement as adrawcard for salvation, because
you'll have people that willrespond to that message in an

(18:14):
experimental fashion to see ifthe claims are true.
Is Jesus better than MTV?
Is he better than the latestfad or the toothpaste that I
tried yesterday?
People need to come to Christbecause they have sinned against
a holy God and because of thatsin, they've been weighed in.
The balances have been foundlacking.
They do not have therighteousness required of the
law to stand before a holy God.
Therefore, they will be judgedSin, judgment and righteousness.

(18:38):
So to stand there in front ofthose students and to open up
the law of God for the purposefor which it was designed.
You can see them agreeing withyou, because how many times have
we tried to win somebody toChrist by just trying to say
that he's better than whateverit is that you're going through,
whatever you're experiencing?
But that's not how youevangelize.

(19:00):
We give law to the proud and wegive grace to the humble.
So it always starts off andit's without fail.
The people are watching andthey're like huh, wait, what are
you getting?
But what about?
And their heads are turningbecause they can't compute what
they've been doing and whatthey've been taught, necessarily
.
And then as you open upScripture, because that is our
ultimate source of authority, heads begin to nod, people begin

(19:25):
to agree and they see reallyhow easy it is to evangelize,
because the onus is now left onChrist, not on you, to try to
save someone.
Salvation belongs to the Lord.
Give a lot of the proud, givegrace to the humble, leave the
results to God.
God is not calling you to befruitful, he's calling you to be
faithful.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Amen.
And then I don't know if youguys remember, but there was a
guy who just happened to comeand sit down with the students
and he had questions and hestarts kind of peppering us with
questions and we tried toengage with him in that.
You know, ray, through theyears you've dealt with hecklers
and we dealt with that on thistrip, I think, of Australia in

(20:04):
particular.
We had a pretty intense hecklerthat you engaged with, mark,
but, ray, you don't see hecklersas a negative.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
No, hecklers are a positive.
Jesus had hecklers all the time.
We read in Scripture wherehecklers came to him.
We don't see the passion.
This was open air, huge crowds.
Jesus would have lifted hisvoice like a trumpet to show
this people their transgression.
And those Pharisees who askedhim and accused him would have
done so with passion and volume, and that's probably why the

(20:36):
crowd also came to see what wasgoing to happen here.
How would Jesus answer this?
And we've got some of ourgreatest truths in Scripture
because some heckler asked aparticular question or brought
some accusation.
So hecklers can take a crowd of20 people to 100 people in two
minutes if they use correctly.
And the way to use themcorrectly is just to provoke
them to a point where they don'thit you.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
I want to commend the Christians that were there that
day, because I think so oftenwhen we want to start preaching
the gospel, we think, man, I'mnot ready.
I need to spend the next yearstudying, preparing, memorizing,
reading, watching YouTubevideos, and on and on and on.
We'll go for months thinkingwe're preparing ourselves, but
really we're procrastinating.

(21:16):
And these individuals, faithfulChristians, showed up.
We spent what an hour or twowith them and they were out
there with tracks, preaching thegospel and getting into
conversations with individualsfaithfully going forward with
the truth of God's word andthat's our joy, friends, and
that's why we do what we do as aministry.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
We exist to inspire and equip Christians in
fulfilling the Great Commission, and you think of the millions
over the years that have beenimpacted through Way of the
Master all around the world.
I mean, it started way backwhen Ray with you and Kirk yes,
2002 or 2003.
Yeah, and from there, so manypeople have come to Christ, so
many people have come out offalse doctrine and friends along

(22:00):
with that.
So many people have beenactivated to proclaim the gospel
.
That's our joy and our thrill.
We don't just give youinstruction, ray, hasn't just
written books on the subject, orwe've done training courses
saying here's what you do, weshow you how we do it.
That creates that sort ofinspiration because, wow, they
can do it, I can do it, and sothat's a part of what you're

(22:22):
standing with us to do is tocontinue to get that out there
and also, ray, to show peoplethat the gospel is applicable
everywhere, that the law istranscendent.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah, that's why I went to Europe and preached 13
episodes in 13 countries in 13days, to show that, no matter
what culture you go into, aslong as you're culturally
sensitive, you can preach thesame gospel, because God's given
the same people the sameconscience everywhere.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Amen, yeah, all right .
So from Tahiti we went to Fiji.
How do you say Fiji Ray in NewZealand-ish?
Fiji, fiji, yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
We went to Fiji.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
We can say Fiji, fiji , fiji, fiji, don't keep saying
it.
We drink Fiji water here everyday.
Okay, so, man, Fiji you guys.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Easy spirit place.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Bula Bula, oh yeah, was that.
Fiji, you guys Easy spiritplace.
Bula Bula, oh yeah, was that.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Fiji yeah, remember Bula Bula.
Yeah, bula Bula, this was yourfavorite spot.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
We pulled up to the resort and you started doing
slide a hand and gettingeverybody to laugh and cry.
Man that was.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
I don't know what happened to me, but I just like
came alive in that place.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
And they were like if you want to watch something
wonderful, watch fijians playrugby the crowd of fijians and
it's just amazing.
They will cheer anything.
They'll cheer even if they'relosing.
Yeah, they just go they're suchnice people.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Yeah, ray, in new zealand you guys, there were a
lot of fijians yes, a lot offijians in new zealand yeah,
they were your buddies.
Yeah, so, uh, so fiji, fiji hadsome unforgettable stuff.
I mean, I can't wait for peopleto watch this, you guys, so, so
, um mark, what was your vibefor fiji like?

(24:09):
What was your sense of it?

Speaker 1 (24:10):
I'm trying because the trip was so fast.
I'm trying to remember what wedid in each thing.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Look, Mark, I just got to jump in here.
You mocked me many years agobecause I'd be traveling most
weekends and I'd forget whathappened two weeks before that
and I remember you mocking meand the same things happened to
you.
You've got a clue what happenedthree weeks ago?

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Yeah, Maka, who are you?
Mark your name again.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
So I remember the Bula Bula.
I remember you going crazy andmaking everybody laugh and
handing gospel tracts out toeverybody.
What else did we do after that?
We took oh, this is where youhad the vehicle right and you
were witnessing.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Remember we went to the-.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
No, the vehicle was Cook.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Islands, that's Cook Islands.
Do you remember?
It's all a blur.
It's all a blur mark youremember in fiji we went to that
training, that, that bibleschool, yeah you, you talked to
those students that's what I wastalking about earlier what

Speaker 2 (25:02):
lords, you'll, you'll know.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
No, that was you were talking about tahiti earlier.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
No, it was those, that group of people, that, that
were I gave that story earlieryeah, yeah, yeah, oh boy, mark,
okay, forget Mark, oscar, let'sgo, let's go to PETA.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
PETA yeah.
So we we got finished havinglunch and we walk out, and it
was funny.
Again, this is a testament tohow our plans, when it seems to
be falling apart, actually theLord is at work.
So we planned on walking outand there was, like, this
facility we wanted to get inone-on-one conversations with,
and almost immediately, beforewe can even talk to anybody,

(25:39):
security came out and was likeyou can't, you can't do that
here, it was a religiousorganization, a cult, owned the
property, and so myself and Ithink one other one of our
camera guys walk across thestreet and it happened to be
Fijian day.
Remember that detail.
Fijian day is like Fiji day.
Yeah, yeah, uh, it's theirindependence day and there's all

(26:00):
these, uh, individuals outside, you know, drinking and laughing
and whatever.
And I walk up to this guy andhis name's Pita, and Pita is the
size of a building.
He was just.
He was just strong and massive.
I shook his hand and it waslike probably what it feels like
when Ray shakes people's hands.
It was just like this tiny.
My hand was just this tinylittle thing in his mitt, you

(26:23):
know.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
He'd be a rugby player.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
He would be a rugby player.
And I start, you know, talkingto him preaching the gospel and
he just starts bawling his eyesout and I mean like waterfall.
Oh yeah, they were just likeJust coming down and I walk him
through the law and the gospeland we pray, and when we're done

(26:45):
I remember him saying what do Ido now?
What do I do now?
And his family is behind himand I go why don't you go tell
them, preach the gospel to them?
And then he says behind him andI go why don't you go tell them
, preach the gospel to them?
And then he says will you tellmy chief?
So, sidebar, the way culturallythis works is there's usually
somebody that owns a lot of aplot of land and they will allow

(27:09):
people to come and live on thatland and they build basically
these shacks out of 10.
I mean they you can hardly callthem a home, but there's like a
hierarchy.
If you upset the chief, theycan kick you off of their land
and you have to live outside ofit, which is a shame.
It's like a shame culture.
Peta had been kicked off ofthat land, so he was living just

(27:32):
outside of the chief's home, and another sidebar is that
you're not allowed to talk tothe chief unless you're invited
in to talking to the chief.
You don't just get the right totalk to him.
And so PETA is saying will youtell my chief?
Will you tell my chief?
He grabs my arm and he startswalking us over to the chief's

(27:53):
home and I remember like, as hehad my arm with him, I'm like
man, if this guy got crazy, would I be able to escape?
Like I felt, like I can.
I just couldn't move.
He was just a monster.
So he walks us over I'm aboutto turn it over to you he walks
us over to the property and wewalk over to the chief's home
and the chief wasn't there.
And we walk over to the chief'shome and the chief wasn't there

(28:14):
, but his wife and mother was.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
And yeah, yeah, Mark, I'd actually like to hear from
your perspective.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Well, I remember we were eating lunch up in that
area, right, and I look over atOscar and I'm like what is going
on?
And I look over at Oscar andthe guy had his hand on the
shoulder.
They're holding onto each otherand I just remember looking, I
go, is the guy throwing up?

(28:42):
I mean, it really seemed likethat because there were so many
tears that were running down andwe captured it on camera so
many tears that were coming downthe guy's face.
The next thing I know, we arenow inside of this hut and
you're preaching the gospel tothe family, and now was it the
wife of the chief.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Yeah, the chief's wife, One of the wives, Because
we were at the chief's mother'shouse and his wife took us to
the mother's house across fromtheir house, and I didn't know
what to expect.
I'm thinking we're gonna getkilled here.
You know, like, what's going onand yeah, yeah and then you
share the gospel.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
and it was so neat, you know, I mean they have
nothing, but they realize thatwhat they needed was Christ.
And to see you unashamedly talkabout who God is and the law,
and then the gospel, and Christcrucified, it just made.
I mean, if that was the onlything we did, it would have made

(29:31):
the whole trip absolutely worthit.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
And as you're preaching, PETA is behind you.
Still crying, Crying and likeyes.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Jesus amen, yes, well what really touched me was the
chief's wife was in tears and Isaid to her what's going on
right now and she said I justfeel like you're speaking
directly to me.
I said I wasn't going to dothat, man, but like and you, you
think about all the things thatconnected, that made that
happen.
It was amazing, ray.

(29:59):
I wanted to ask you in NewZealand obviously you guys have
the native people there, theMaoris, maoris, maoris Was
evangelism to them?
Different or same principles?

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Same principle, exactly.
The Maoris have got anidolatrous history of idols and
cannibalism and the Maori Oriswere eaten by the Maoris.
They were before the Maoris andthe Maoris came, and then
missionaries went to New Zealandand a number of the
missionaries were eaten.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Wow, that's not a merry time, is it no?

Speaker 2 (30:34):
it's scary, but yeah, we'd love to see a great move
among the Maoris.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Yeah, amen, all right , from Tahiti to Fiji, to
Australia, which is a smallisland off the coast of New
Zealand.
Yeah, don't forget that, mate.
So we get to Australia.
Mark, you and I had been toAustralia before.
I think we went to Brisbane, ifI remember, and we did a
conference there, so this wasour second time there.

(30:58):
And boy, australia was fun.
So you remember, oscar, we wentto that natural or like a zoo
kind of place.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Yeah, my favorite thing is we went to Melbourne,
which is the mecca of third wavecoffee.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Oh no, so that was the highlight for me.
I mean, if we're going to talkabout Australia, I hear it's the
Mecca of creamer like flavoredcreamer.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
Yeah, you guys.
I don't know if it's becauseI'm the new guy on the block,
but somehow I pulled the shortstraw and had to get into a cage
.
With what kind of bird was that?
Kookaburra.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Kookaburra.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
And so it's sitting on my arm and the lady's feeding
it and I'm like what are youfeeding it?
She goes oh, it's rat guts.
And minutes later it startsflapping the rat guts and one of
them just lands perfectly intomy eyeball.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
That was such a joyous moment for me.
Was it your highlight?

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Imagine if your vision improved and that became
something special for people.
Rat got in the eye.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
It was a huge honor.
They said it was a huge honor.
It was a sign.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
It was no when the kookaburra started laughing.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
That was really cool.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Mark, you were hanging with the kangaroos in
there.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Dude the kangaroos are intimidating.
I just remember the kangaroosKind of on the ground and it
jumped up and it was just likemuscles on top of muscles on top
of muscles.
I remember I had theopportunity to speak to the San
Diego Chargers excuse me, theDenver Broncos before they
played the Chargers, and I wentup to one of their all-pro men
and I put my hand on hisshoulder and I was talking to
him like this and I was likewhat is that?

(32:30):
How do you have muscles there?
And there were just muscles ontop of it.
Well, that's what this kangaroowas, just muscles on top of
muscles.
And it was like I don't know ifI want to really do this
anymore.
And I don't remember what wetalked about, why we were even
there.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
But it was obviously we were preaching the gospel to
every creature.
Kangaroos need to be saved too,Mark.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Easy.
You tried to pet a Tasmaniandevil.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Oh man, that's right, I wish I even tried.
I was just like talking aboutit and I'm standing in the
enclosure and my hand kind ofwent in.
They're like no, I'm like whatthey're like.
That thing will bite your armoff.
Well they called that easy, it'sa clue Tasmanian devil, the
cartoons Remember, he was likethe tornado.
Anyway, that was really neat.

(33:15):
But the highlight obviously ofAustralia was was preaching the
gospel.
We went to Melbourne, we wentto Brisbane, we went to Sydney
and what was cool for me inSydney was it's kind of like a
metropolis, I mean, you gotpeople coming from everywhere,
and so when we were preachingthe gospel, across from the
opera house, you know, therewere people I think Bangladesh,

(33:40):
if I remember, but they werethere, you know, and they
actually he just proposed to heroh yeah, and then I walk up and
then I did their wedding rightthere and then, seeing if you're
paying attention, I was like, but it was really cool just to
share the gospel with them.
And Mark, you had some intenseopen air preaching where there
was a heckler that you and itwas demonic, you don't remember

(34:02):
there was a heckler that youdon't remember, and it was
demonic, wasn't it?

Speaker 2 (34:03):
There was some demonic manifestation behind you
, some guy smashing a phone.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Oh yeah, the guy crossed the way smashing the
phone oh yeah, that's right, sweet gentleman.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
But it was neat because we had a couple of guys,
a couple of friends fromAustralia that were there, plus
all the other people that werethere, but Ben Price was there
and Chris was there.
Stanford and this Stanford Innthis is what they go through on
the regular.
And so I remember getting upthere and preaching and trying
not to be distracted by a guywho was bashing a phone booth
with the phone and trying toutilize that as an illustration,

(34:34):
right, talking about a demonicpresence and what's going on,
and we just get angry at theworld, whatnot, and then just
not being distracted, goingright back to preaching the
gospel, because that draws acrowd and, like Ray says, crowds
draw crowds.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
Yeah, that guy actually worked for the phone
company.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
He did, he was frustrated.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
You know, I had sort of a revelatory, like a
discovery moment in Australiabecause, if you guys remember,
it was really hard to get peopleto have a conversation with you
.
And we talked to a local andthey said you know somebody who
grew up in the States and thenmoved to Australia.
Australia had been there 20, 30years and I asked him what's
the difference between Americanculture and Australian culture?

(35:13):
And one of the things he saidis in Australia you do not talk
about faith or politics.
It's very not okay.
And every time I try to come upwith a conversation with
somebody, they would push backand go.
I don't want to talk aboutfaith and politics.
And I remember these two ladiesboth of them we have this on
camera both of them wereatheists.
I think they were in arelationship with one another.

(35:33):
Oh, I remember that I think oneof them may have been a male,
but they said no to talking tome.
And then I said I said, hey, listen, um, one thing I want to
see is if we can put on displaytolerance.
I said, because we always talkabout tolerance, um, but we see
people they disagree.
Do you think you and I couldtalk about this?

(35:56):
And I learned from you and youlearned from me, and if we agree
, great, but if we disagree, canwe do it in a way that shows
tolerance?
And both of them were like yeah, yeah, I can be tolerant.
You were speaking their language.
I was I used an idol of culture, tolerance, to get them to have
a conversation with me.
And it was an amazingconversation.
One of them again, both of themsaid they were atheists At the

(36:17):
end of it.
One of them was a littleemotional and she goes, man, you
know, sometimes I wish therewas someone there who knew me
and loved me and we have that oncamera.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Yeah, that was a real powerful moment.
Yeah, we preached the gospel onBondi Beach.
Bondi Beach, yes, yeah which isa famous beach, and we got a
decent good crowd there and thatwas amazing.
Again, sydney was amazing wegot to meet up with and there
were people that came out toBondi Beach, you know, that
followed the ministry andlistened to the podcast.
It was so neat.

(36:48):
And then we had that big crowdat the restaurant of people that
support and follow LivingWaters that we were able to have
dinner with and encourage andbuild up in the Lord Esli one of
our caricature artists- yeah.
Esli was there.
It was just.
It was amazing and, ray, that'sa part of your history.
I mean you did a lot ofpreaching in Australia in the
early days.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Yeah, first time I ever preached Hell's Best Kept
Secret publicly outside of alocal church was in Brisbane,
australia, a big conferenceAbout 400 or 500 people were
there for the Commonwealth Gamesoutreach, so I stayed there for
a month.
Yeah, so I stayed there for amonth and I stayed at a place
called we thought it wasCapalaba, but it was Capalaba we
were pronouncing it wrong fortwo weeks Like.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
Ceratops and Taco Bell.
Yeah, we know, ray.
Yeah, all right.
Well, in a few minutes, friends, about four minutes or so,
we're going to do Q&A Again.
Send in your questions and beready because we're going to do
that.
But we hit New Zealand.
New Zealand again was myhighlight, because what you're
going to see in New Zealand iswe went to the place where Ray

(37:51):
first got a hold of the use ofthe law and evangelism.
It was a church he spoke at.
We went to the rectory theycall it where you stayed with
the family, and we went into theroom that Ray was reading the
sermon by Spurgeon and just gothit by it.
And that was magical, mark.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
That was probably.
Well it was.
It was the highlight of theentire trip.
Right, because I've heard Raypreach Hell's Best Kept Secret a
gazillion times.
Right, and even memorize hugechunks of it.
Taught Hell's Best Kept Secretmyself, with no attribution,
even memorize huge chunks of it.
Taught Hell's Best.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Kept Secret myself with no attribution and, being
inside that room, he confesseshis lack of integrity.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
Thank you, when Ray received the golden plates right
, where Ray just had the ideathat epiphany of using the law
and seeing Spurgeon utilize thelaw.
And then going across thestreet to these hot springs
where Ray shares the gospel withthis gentleman inside the hot
spring.
For me, I remember juststepping away and getting by

(38:50):
myself and I remember justcrying, right Just beside myself
, thanking the Lord for givingme good, solid theology, good
understanding of the importanceof the use of the law, to use it
as a tutor, a schoolmaster, thepurpose for which it was
designed.
And when was that?
I mean, ray, how many years agowas that?
That was when you received 1982, september of 82.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
The chronology was I read Spurgeon's sermon that blew
me away with just a tinyportion of a sermon where he
says what will you do when thelaw comes in terror, when the
trumpet of the archangel shalltear you from your grave, when
the eyes of God shall burn intoyour guilty soul and all the
books shall be opened and allyour sin and shame shall be
punished?
Can you stand against an angrylaw in that day?

(39:33):
I remember going.
That's a little different from.
God loves you and has awonderful plan for your life.
And then I tucked it in mymemory banks and then about two
days later, I was up at what wascalled the Mance, which is the
house that the preacher stays inat the small Presbyterian
church and that one room at theback.
That's when I read Galatians3.24 and misread it in my

(39:55):
subconscious.
The law was a schoolmaster tobring us to Christ.
I read it the law was aschoolmaster to bring Israel to
Christ and I said it doesn't saythat.
It says us.
And so I thought well, let'ssee if it works.
That's when I went to the hotsprings.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Yeah, it was amazing to go to the actual hot springs
where Ray first used the law andevangelism and that just
changed everything.
And it was great.
We just went, we went to ChristChurch and we preached, you
know, near the square and thebridge, I mean it was, and the
wizard and the wizard, I got tointerview the wizard and Ray's
family.
We got to see Ray's family goto his sister's house.

(40:32):
His brother gave commentary.
We went to the neighborhoodwhere Ray grew up.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
I mean, it was they made me eat Marmite.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
Oh yeah, a spoonful, and to this day I get the chills
when I think of that whole tripand we don't look, we're going
to get into Q&A.
But Cook Islands was awesome.
Mark Reddy gave us a highlightof that and I got stung by a
jellyfish.
Yeah, I got stung by that crazyjellyfish and we had great
encounters there, of course, with that gentleman that didn't

(40:59):
want to take us on the tour.
That day he went grudgingly andthen I shared the gospel with
him while he was taking thisaround and at the end he's like
man.
He's like I'm going to thankthat lady's scared to see me,
who gave me the job today.
He said, but I'm going to thankher that I came because I
needed to hear this.

Speaker 4 (41:15):
And all of this just to recap before we go into the
Q&A.
All of this is in season 10 ofthe TV show the Way of the
Master.
You can learn more about thatseason and how to partner with
us in that season.
Opportunity to come to the redcarpet to get one of these
bobbleheads.
You can go to livingwaterscom, forward slash Pacific Rim to

(41:36):
learn more and help us bring itto fruition.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
Livingwaterscom forward, slash Pacific Rim and
make sure to stick around, friends, after the Q&A we're
going to show the exclusivetrailer.
You're going to see some ofthese things that we've been
talking about, and I'm surethat'll get you excited.
Uh, but we finished in Hawaii,of course, and that was neat.
Again, we had more people flyin meet us there, join us on the
streets, and my sister livesthere in Waikiki, so I got to

(41:59):
spend some time with her and andwe and we experienced some
great stuff.
There was that young man, mark, that you and I kind of
tag-teamed on.
Oh yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
And that was really powerful.
Do you remember the guy thatwas up inside the hotel?

Speaker 3 (42:11):
Yeah, and he recognized one of our voices.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
That's right, and he came all the way down.
He was way up inside the hotel.

Speaker 3 (42:16):
I think he said Living Waters Podcast or
something.
He came, listened to the gospel, the preaching, so great, it
was great.
So anyway, friends, it was anamazing, amazing journey,
definitely one for the historybooks, and we're excited for all
of you to see it and, again, toget behind us and help us to
finish funding it all, and thenalso to help us to do more.
We're planning the next seasonof the television program and

(42:38):
that's going to be exciting.
So, all right, we ready for ourQ&A.
Mac.
We are All right, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
So the first question how did the idea for filming
Way of the Master even comeabout?
All right to begin with.
Whose idea was it to film?
We're in season 10.
Yeah, ray, take us back.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
I have to back up.
Kirk Cameron heard Hell's BestGap Secret wanted to combine
ministries and for a whole yearhe kept saying to me again and
again on the phone on the phonehow can we get the teaching to
the church, how can we get it tothe church?
And we had no idea.
Even kirk with a celebrity, just didn't have any ideas how
to get it to the church.
And then he was on tbn, umnetwork, and uh, he was supposed

(43:22):
to teach and I'm not supposedto be interviewed.
A guy didn't show up so he gotme on and in the interview and
then he taught hell's best keptsecret from my notes on my Bible
my and website crashed over amillion hits or whatever was
called then and TVN said comeback and do this again, do some
more teaching.

(43:42):
He said no, we'll produce atelevision program teaching
Christians how to share theirfaith biblically and we named it
the Way of the Master after oneof the chapters in the book,
the Way of the Master.

Speaker 3 (43:53):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
And that's how it came about.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
Yeah, you just think about those connections.
You know, kirk used to call theministry under his first and
middle name, kirk Thomas, and wehad no idea who he was, but he
was ordering resources.
And that's because, mark, yougave him a CD of Hell's Best
Kept Secret or a cassette orwhatever it was at the CBA, the
Christian BooksellersAssociation, and he listened to

(44:15):
it and then started ordering andthen it impacted his life.
Finally came that day met andman to think of what the Lord
has done since then.
10 seasons later, millions ofpeople around the world, almost
every country in the world, hashad Way the Master play in it.
So it's exciting, yeah, sothere you have it.

Speaker 1 (44:33):
Question two Oscar.
Do you speak Spanish?

Speaker 4 (44:36):
Si, como no?

Speaker 1 (44:38):
You really speak Spanish?

Speaker 4 (44:40):
I do.
I have a really strong accent.
My mom was the first of hersiblings to be born in the
United States.
Speak Spanish.
I do, I have a really strongaccent.
I'm the.
My mom was the first of hersiblings to be born in the
United States, so I was the onlycousin, I think.
What do you mean?
A strong accent?
English accent.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
English accent in Spanish.

Speaker 4 (44:54):
My family calls me a gringo whenever.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
I speak.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
Yeah, so it's just I have a strong.
American accent.
I have a better Mexican accentthan Oscar, even though it's
fake Spanish.
For those who don't know, thatwas not Spanish.
I have no idea what it was.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
It's all fake.

Speaker 3 (45:12):
Ray, you wouldn't know the difference you do.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
Is it Korean, indonesian?
Which one do you do?
Vietnamese?
Do you Vietnamese?
That's?

Speaker 3 (45:18):
actually Vietnamese.
Those are words I counted to 10and then I said I love you.
Now what do I do?

Speaker 1 (45:32):
I accidentally deleted this, but it was.
Do you recommend somebody toopen air preach by themselves?
Ooh, good question, Ray.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
Yes and no.
I prefer open air preaching bymyself.
I always have, because whenyou've got someone with you and
you fluff it, you fluff it infront of them, so you're less
likely to make a fool ofyourself if you've got nobody
that you know watching.

Speaker 3 (45:51):
That's so weird, Ray, because I'm so used to you all
these years preaching with ateam and we'd go out with you.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
Yeah, I preached alone for about 12 years by
yourself, almost every day.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Yeah, yourself almost every day.
Yeah, yeah, I understand thatthat dynamic you know doing it
yourself because you're prideful, yeah, so, um, yeah, right,
yeah, right, lord, why did yougive me this arab son-in-law?

Speaker 1 (46:12):
yeah, next question hey guys, how would you
recommend spending downtime athome?
I have a lot of time to wasteand I don't want to waste it,
yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
Downtime.
What is that?
What is downtime?
It'd be great to know what thatis.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
Yeah, edit videos on your computer.
You still do that in bed, right, yeah, I do it in bed every
night and during the day and Iwatch rugby with an ear plug in
so I can edit.
And what is it?
Shorts on YouTube.
Someone took one of our shortsand it's got 6.4 million views.
They just edited and we likepeople doing that.

(46:47):
So if you're doing nothing, learn how to do that, and you
can learn that atlivingwaterscom.
Forward slash shorts and we'llteach you how to do that, so you
don't have any wasted time.
Anyone can do it.
If you're a housewife, you're abusinessman, so your downtime
isn't no time wasted time.
You can have a good time byediting.
It's incredible.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
Livingwaterscom forward slash shorts.

Speaker 4 (47:12):
Let me just add to it by saying your downtime is
probably some of your mostimportant time of your life.
We just mentioned in a podcastthat we recorded that your heart
shapes your worship and yourheart is shaped by your life.
We just mentioned in a podcastthat we recorded that your heart
shapes your worship and yourheart is shaped by your habits,
and your habits are the thingsthat are happening when no one's
around, and so that is, again, the most important time for your

(47:37):
own heart, and I would say, along with opportunities to use
video to share the gospel, pickup the habit of reading, the
habit of prayer and meditation, the habit of scripture
memorization.
If you're sitting at home andyour downtime is doom, scrolling
, video game playing, streaming, your heart is being shaped and

(47:58):
discipled by those things, andso your downtime is some of the
most important time that youhave.
Spend it honoring the Lord.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (48:07):
Amen.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
Redeem the time, make your downtime your uptime.

Speaker 3 (48:09):
Yeah, I would say, like it says in Ephesians redeem
the time, because the days areevil.
Buy up the time and look.
If you treat time like moneyand you just spend it, you waste
it.
But if you treat it like moneyand invest it, you're going to
get a return.
Invest it in eternal things,Invest it in spiritual things

(48:30):
and, like Oscar said, man, youcan memorize scripture.
Your word have I hidden in myheart that I might not sin
against you.
How can a young man keep hisway pure?
By keeping it according to yourword.
And so you have the living wordof God.
Make use of it and internalizeit.
Study, watch videos on thingsthat are going to enhance your
ability to share the gospel.
Look, there's nothing wrongwith recreation and enjoying

(48:51):
some cat videos if you like cats.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
I like cats, matt likes cats, you like cats?

Speaker 3 (48:56):
I love, cats I love.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
That's terrible.

Speaker 2 (49:02):
Also go out witnessing.
Just take your dog for a walkaround the block and take some
tracks with you and when youmeet someone say, excuse me,
I've got a question for you.
Do you think there's life afterdeath?

Speaker 3 (49:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
If you make a habit of doing that, you'll redeem the
time.
Amen the one soul is wise.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
Yeah, and look, I think a good key principle to
keep in mind is priority.
Right, so it's okay to recreate, it's okay to enjoy movies and
games and whatnot, but priorityDo the spiritual first and make
that the priority and then, ifyou've really invested

(49:36):
spiritually, then you can enjoythose things.
And it's kind of like dessertafter dinner.
You enjoy it more after you'veeaten a meal.
I think Now I dine as achocolate cake.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
Boy, you've got the longest answers, aren't they
cute.
You know, idle time is thedevil's workshop.
So what I like to do is writeout what I'm going to do the
next day, at least the previousnight, so you wake up with a
purpose.
Yeah, you don't sleep in.
I like that.
Can women share the gospel withmen?
Can women share the gospel withmen?
Can women share the gospel withmen?

(50:07):
Let me go first on this.
You know, I think it's kind ofinferred there in John chapter 4
, with the woman at the wellthat she didn't go back to the
women and say what great thingsGod has done, because she was a
bit of an outcast.
That's why she was at the wellin the heat, because the other
women are not going to the wellat that time.
So she undoubtedly went to men, more than likely, if we were to

(50:27):
kind of look into that text alittle bit, I think.
And I think that she shared thegood news of what God had done,
you know.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
With the men she knew .

Speaker 1 (50:37):
probably that's right with the men that she knew.
It's not always men with menand women with women.
I think that we can build acase that God desires all men
everywhere to be saved and torepent.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
I would say, ladies, don't witness to a guy in a dark
alley.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
Yeah, it was wisdom, right yeah.

Speaker 4 (50:56):
I think the question is rooted in complementarianism,
and I think you know the fourof us would agree.
Complementarianism is definedas authority within the context
of the local church andpreaching on a Sunday behind the
pulpit, which means application.
Yeah, women can proclaim thegospel to men.
And just one other example Maryis the first person not just

(51:20):
woman, the first person toproclaim a resurrected Savior,
and she did that to thedisciples, who were all men, and
so the Scripture certainlygives precedence.
And then another one, which isthe Great Commission.
Nowhere in the Great Commissiondoes it indicate that it's
limited towards men.
This is the reason why the Lordsaves you and keeps you is for

(51:43):
you to proclaim the gospel.

Speaker 3 (51:44):
And yeah, be encouraged, amen.
Very good, all right.

Speaker 1 (51:49):
What is a good way to introduce the gospel to my
unsaved atheistic family?
I've got a good answer.
Well, we'll be the judge ofthat, yeah let's see Easy.

Speaker 2 (52:01):
What are you going to say?

Speaker 3 (52:02):
I was going to say relational evangelism, build up
friendship over a long period oftime 20, 30 years.

Speaker 2 (52:08):
Grab one of our videos where an atheist changes
his mind and show it to yourfamily, but don't say to them I
want you to watch this.
Say I'd love to know what youthink of this Appeal to the ego,
and they won't feel intimidatedby you if you say I'd like to
know what you think of this andalso be rich in good works.
Buy them gifts when it's notChristmas.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
Yeah, or birthdays.
That's good, ray, oscar, whenyou think back to your atheist
days.
If you could engineer someonesharing the gospel with you in
the most effective way, whatwould you say?
That would be like.

Speaker 4 (52:47):
Yeah, I would say two things, but first to answer
your question, I think it'simportant to recognize that
people are not atheists, ultimately, because they have
some argument against God.
They're atheists because theylove their sin.
And then I would say, toproclaim the gospel, to use

(53:08):
apologetics and evangelism in abeautiful way.
Ultimately, what that personneeds to do, as CS Lewis puts it
, is to fall in love, to fall inlove with their Lord and Savior
.
And that's what happened to me.
I did not have all the answersto my atheism.
The person who proclaimed thegospel they didn't say anything
new that night.
They weren't a particularlygood communicator.

(53:29):
They didn't present a goodargument.
They didn't even give me anynew data or information that I
hadn't already heard.
I knew about thesubstitutionary atonement.
I could articulate thesubstitutionary atonement.
I just thought it was archaicand barbaric at that time.
But when this person faithfullyproclaimed the gospel it was my

(53:51):
time the Lord softened my heartand opened my eyes and I saw it
in a whole new light, likefalling in love.
And then the second thing Iwould say is for years my
grandma, faithfully on her knees, wept and prayed for me every
single night.
And so, while evangelism takesaction.

(54:13):
It's also supported by a lot oftime in prayer over those
people.

Speaker 3 (54:19):
Yeah, amen.
And also you have to rememberRomans.
Chapter 1 tells us that really, there's really no such thing as
an atheist right God doesn'tbelieve in atheists, right yeah.
And that everyone knows God,not in a salvific sense, but
everyone is familiar with thereality of His existence.

(54:39):
God has made it evident to themthrough all that he's made, so
that they are without excuse.
But what they're doing isthey're suppressing the truth in
unrighteousness.
So you're not trying to proveto them God exists.
They know he exists.
You're telling them about theGod they know exists but are
choosing to act like he doesn't.
And so you have the ally of theconscience.
You bring the law to bear.

(55:00):
Like we said, you witness toeveryone in the same way,
generally speaking.
Of course, everyone's differentand you can allude to different
things that relate to atheism.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
Just regarding what Oscar was saying about falling
in love with the Lord, it soundskind of nebulous until you
realize it's the cross thatcauses us to fall in love with
Him.
We love Him because he firstloved us.

Speaker 3 (55:19):
Yeah, and that's the biggest catalyst for evangelism.
I mean, what's it?
Say that you may know what isthe width, the length, the depth
, the height, to know the loveof Christ which passes,
knowledge that you may be filledwith all the fullness of God.
And there's no greaterevangelism than what I call
outflow evangelism, overflowevangelism.
It's just because you're inlove with him and you know his

(55:42):
love and you can't help but tellthe world, Amen, Right.

Speaker 1 (55:45):
Next question.
I struggle often with notfeeling worthy of being saved
because of my past mistakes.
Any advice?

Speaker 2 (55:52):
guys.
Yeah, I'd like to give advice.
You're not worthy.
None of us are worthy.
That's what grace is.
That's what a merit of favor is.
Remember the centurion was toldof the Jews, told Jesus of.
The centurion said he is, he'sworthy because he built us a
synagogue.
And he came to Jesus.
And twice he said I'm notworthy, not even worthy.

(56:14):
And so that's the key toChristianity You're not worthy.
It all comes by God's grace.
So you don't need to feel badabout your past mistakes.
They're all washed away as faras the east is, from the west.

Speaker 3 (56:24):
Worthy is the lamb.
That's right.
Yeah, we have to remember that.
And just remember that.
Look, christ came to the worldto save sinners.
I mean Paul, speaking ofhimself in that context, called
himself the chief of sinners.
Acknowledging, though, though, that Christ came, and he says in
Galatians, who loved me andgave himself for me Wow, and

(56:50):
that's the greatest love thatcan ever be known.
And so, look, sometimes we getdeceived into thinking it's
humility to say, oh, I'm notworthy, I'm not worthy, but it's
really pride, because whatwe're saying in essence is, we
have something to contribute toour salvation, but when you look
and say, no, I'm so unworthythat only God can save me, and

(57:12):
then you look away from yourselfto the Lord, and he becomes the
Lord, your righteousness.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
You know it's funny when you talk to people that are
struggling with this, they'lloften say you know, I just I
don't deserve a second chance.
You didn't deserve a firstchance.
You know, it's simply not aboutyou.
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (57:29):
I love to reframe the way we see ourselves through
the lens of the gospel and aquote by JI Packer comes to mind
.
If you haven't read his bookKnowing God, highly recommend it
, especially the chapter onadoption.
And he has this quote in whichhe says I'm going to butcher it,
but it's something to theeffect of like adoption is the
highest regard of the gospel, and he refers to the atonement.

(57:51):
He says to be forgiven by Godis good, but to be loved by God,
the Father, is the greatest.
And the point that he's makingthere is that recognize, like we
inherit heaven, we inherit God.
What does God inherit Us?
Think about that, you and I.

(58:12):
The scriptures in Deuteronomycalls us his prized possession
Out of all of creation.
Think about all of the amazingcreatures that roam all of the
land, all of the amazingcreatures that roam all of the
land, all of the amazingcreatures that swim around in
the ocean.
Think about all the galaxiesand solar systems and suns and
et cetera, et cetera.

(58:32):
All of it belongs to him andDeuteronomy tells us that you
and I, as his saved children, are his prized possession.
To view ourselves in the lensof the gospel, to be able to
understand and, as I love theway Jonathan Edward puts it.
He basically says like there'snothing particularly special

(58:54):
about you.
He says when a man picks outgems from stones, he picks them
because they're beautiful, theystand out from other stones, but
when God picks you, there'snothing particularly special.
What makes you a gem is that hehas chosen you and you
therefore become his prized.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
Yeah, I heard somebody that's so beautiful,
Oscar.
I heard somebody say what doyou collect?
What are your hobbies?
What do you collect?
Some of you collect stamps.
I like easy collects cars.
Well, what is it that?
Jets, Mark Jets, you always getit wrong, I apologize.
What do you collect?
Well, God collects things aswell.
He's got a dust collectionbecause we were made of dirt.
The very thing that we get ridof, the very thing that we

(59:36):
destroy, the very thing that wedo not want inside of our house,
is the thing that God collects, and it's a paradox, right?
It makes no sense in ourkingdom, but in God's.
It does, Amen.
Last question Is there ever atime that we shouldn't tell a
stranger about Jesus?
Are we to tell everyone everytime we meet someone, or is it

(59:58):
only as we are led by the HolySpirit?

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
I like to answer this with Scripture Go into all the
world and preach the gospel toevery creature.
But what does the word go mean?

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
Actually in the original.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
original means go Whoa.
What about every?
Every in the original meansevery.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
That's the original Greek if you study it closely.

Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Wowzers.
Yeah, and all is the word passand it means all, which is
incredible.
So when Jesus said, go into allthe world and preach the gospel
to every creature, he wasactually saying to be true to
the original Greek go into allthe world and preach the gospel
to every creature.
So if they're breathing witnessto them, don't let them get
away.
Make a way to witness.

(01:00:38):
Don't wait for them to come toyou, because they're not going
to come to you.
Men love darkness rather thanlight, because their deeds are
evil.
Neither will they come to thelight lest their deeds be
exposed.
That's why we need to go tothem.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
Amen.
Is there a caveat attached tothis?
Let me play devil's advocatethere, angel's advocate.
I'm at work and I just want toshare the gospel.
I want to get into ministry andthe guys pay me.
But man, all these people needthe Lord Easy.

Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
Well, you have something called a break, you
have something called lunch, youhave something called
recreational activities outsideof work, or you can invite your
co-workers and do that.
So you do have to be wise andwhen.
But if you're working withsomeone for years or months or
weeks, even I, even you shouldfind an opportunity at the right
time in order to share thegospel.

(01:01:27):
Some workplaces allow you totalk because it's conducive for
that, but find a time.

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
I remember meeting an individual who was well off,
had plenty of finances, and hewas an Uber driver, and I said
why are you an Uber driver?
And he said well, it's anopportunity to share the gospel.
What are they going to do?
Fire me.
It's like I share the gospel.
That's why I have the job.

Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
Yeah, and I think that's a perfect context where
you can do that.
Don't think, mark?
I didn't see that.
Question of Ray is easy.
The most annoying son-in-lawever.

Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
I didn't come up with that.

Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
I thought it, but I did not come up with that.
It's the most asked question.

Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
Yeah, I'm sure it is what people don't know is I am
in reality the answer to Ray'sprayer, because he always prayed
for an Arab rapping ex-gangmember, son-in-law, and you got
him and one who impersonates youperfectly.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Right, all right, friends, you perfectly right,
all right, friends, that's theend.
Man, this was fun.
It really was, yeah, uh.
So again, I like hang on.
I like the q a.
We should do it more often.

Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
I know we should.
Yeah, let's do that.
Good idea, okay, real quick.

It's like storing up wrath.

Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
I see you're getting emotional.

Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
This is enough to cause demons to be manifested in
the background to cry out.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
How do you identify us male or female?
That's a hard question, because, no, it's not a hard question.

Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
I was a Christian fellowship before and it's like
you backslid.
Well, man, you think the Lord'sdoing something in your heart
right now.

Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
Yeah, we're in the Pacific South, specifically now
we're in New.

Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
Zealand Raised known as this crazy wild man, and
you're his big brother, I thinksome people envision he was
raised by a pack of wolves.

Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
He was raised by a pack of wolves.

Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
So there I was cruising around and all of a
sudden I felt a little sting.
I thought I'm going to dieright here in the dialogue.
So here we go again, way of theMaster Pacific Rim.
