E.Z., Mark, and Oscar retrace Ray’s evangelism journey across Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii, experiencing both challenges and powerful encounters as they shared the gospel. From late-night partiers in Tahiti to a weeping man in Fiji, they saw firsthand how the message of Christ can reach hearts in unexpected ways. Along the way, they used creativity, cultural connections, and boldness to open doors for conversation. Visiting places significant to Ray’s faith journey made the experience even more meaningful. In a concluding Q&A, the guys offered practical evangelism advice, encouraged using downtime for spiritual growth, affirmed the role of women in sharing the gospel, and reminded listeners that God’s grace makes us worthy, not our past.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
And so we're excited we're really excited about doing
this, because we're going tohave the opportunity to relive
what was, for me, one of thegreatest adventures of my life
the Pacific Rim trip that we did.
What we really wanted to do was, first of all, we wanted to
trace Ray Comfort's footsteps,in a sense, his tiny little

(00:20):
footsteps.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Tiny, tiny little footsteps.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Teeny, tiny little footsteps, booty steps, yeah,
and so that was, and I will getto New Zealand, but it was what
a journey it was.
Honestly, for me, it was inmany ways revolutionary because
I was able to really get a sensefor what God did through your

(00:44):
reign, especially when we werein New Zealand.
I think that was the highlightmoment for us in different ways.
But, yeah, we started off andit was a lot of planning, it was
a lot of orchestrating and welaunched, took off and we landed
in Tahiti.
That's where it was first.
Did you get there before us,oscar, I did, and we landed in
Tahiti.
That's where it was first.

(01:04):
Did you get there before us?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Oscar, I did.
I got there one day earlierbecause there was an opportunity
.
Eddie Roman, our producer, found an opportunity in which
there was a bunch of youngadults that were there on
mission and we got to host amini one-day evangelism class in
which we taught them how topreach the gospel, use the law,

(01:31):
and it was amazing, they wereall really encouraged by.
A handful of them were alreadyfollowing Living Waters and
others were hearing the idea ofusing law and evangelism for the
very first time, and yeah, so Iwent out one day early to do
that.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
So Tahiti was really great.
And then, mark, I'd love you totalk about the time we had with
those folks where we sat aroundand instructed them in
evangelism.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Oh, the students at the Bible College, right, oh
yeah, what a treat.
People that were notnecessarily equipped in the area
of using the law.
Listen, living Waters kind ofhas a two-part message.
Right, use the law of God tobring the knowledge of sin and
stop using life enhancement as adrawcard for salvation, because
you'll have people that willrespond to that message in an

(02:15):
experimental fashion to see ifthe claims are true.
Is Jesus better than MTV?
Is he better than the latestfad or the toothpaste that I
tried yesterday?
People need to come to Christbecause they have sinned against
a holy God and because of thatsin, they've been weighed in.
The balances have been foundlacking.
They do not have therighteousness required of the
law to stand before a holy God.
Therefore, they will be judgedSin, judgment and righteousness.

(02:38):
So to stand there in front ofthose students and to open up
the law of God for the purposefor which it was designed.
You can see them agreeing withyou, because how many times have
we tried to win somebody toChrist by just trying to say
that he's better than whateverit is that you're going through,
whatever you're experiencing?
But that's not how youevangelize.

(03:01):
We give law to the proud and wegive grace to the humble.
So it always starts off andit's without fail.
The people are watching andthey're like, huh, wait, what
are you getting at?
But what about?
And their heads are turningbecause they can't compute what
they've been doing and whatthey've been taught, necessarily
.
And then as you open upScripture, because that is our
ultimate source of authority, heads begin to nod, people begin

(03:26):
to agree and they see reallyhow easy it is to evangelize,
because the onus is now left onChrist, not on you, to try to
save someone.
Salvation belongs to the Lord.
Give a lot of the proud, givegrace to the humble, leave the
results to God.
God is not calling you to befruitful, he's calling you to be
faithful Amen.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
And then I don't know if you guys remember, but there
was a guy who just happened tocome and sit down with the
students and he had questionsand he starts kind of peppering
us with questions and we triedto engage with him in that.
Ray, through the years you'vedealt with hecklers and we dealt
with that on this trip, I think, of Australia in particular.

(04:05):
We had a pretty intense hecklerthat you engaged with, mark,
but, ray, you don't see hecklersas a negative.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
No, hecklers are a positive.
Jesus had hecklers all the time.
We read in Scripture wherehecklers came to him.
We don't see the passion.
This was open air, huge crowds.
Jesus would have lifted hisvoice like a trumpet to show
this people their transgression.
And those Pharisees who askedhim and accused him would have
done so with passion and volume, and that's probably why the

(04:34):
crowd also came to see what wasgoing to happen here.
How would Jesus answer this?
And we've got some of ourgreatest truths in scripture
because some heckler asked aparticular question or brought
some accusation.
So hecklers can take a crowd of20 people to 100 people in two
minutes if they use correctly.
And the way to use themcorrectly is just to provoke

(04:54):
them to a point where they don'thit you.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
We hit New Zealand.
New Zealand again was myhighlight, because what you're
going to see in New Zealand iswe went to the place where Ray
first got a hold of the use ofthe law and evangelism.
It was a church he spoke at.
We went to the rectory theycall it where you stayed with
the family, and we went into theroom that Ray was reading the

(05:17):
sermon by Spurgeon and just gothit.
When was that?
I mean.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Ray, how many years ago was that?
That was when you received 1982, september of 82.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
The chronology was I read Spurgeon's sermon that blew
me away with just a tinyportion of a sermon where he
says what will you do when thelaw comes in terror, when the
trumpet of the archangel shalltear you from your grave, when
the eyes of God shall burn intoyour guilty soul and angels
shall tear you from your grave, when the eyes of God shall burn
into your guilty soul and allthe books shall be opened and
all your sin and shame shall bepunished?
Can you stand against an angrylaw?
In that day I remember going.

(05:48):
It's a little different from.
God loves you and has awonderful plan for your life.
And then I tucked it in mymemory banks.
And then about two days later, Iwas up at what was called the
manse, which is the house thatthe preacher stays in in the
small Presbyterian church andthat one room at the back.
That's when I read Galatians3.24 and misread it in my

(06:08):
subconscious.
The law was a schoolmaster tobring us to Christ.
I read it the law was aschoolmaster to bring Israel to
Christ.
No, it doesn't say that.
It says us.
And so I thought well, let'ssee if it works.
That's when I went to the hotsprings.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Yeah, it was amazing to go to the actual hot springs
where Ray first used the law andevangelism and that just
changed everything.
Oscar, let's go to.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Pita, pita.
Yeah, so we got finished havinglunch and there's all these
individuals outside, you know, drinking and laughing and
whatever.
And I walk up to this guy andhis name's Pita and Pita is the
size of a building.
He was just strong and massive.
I shook his hand and it waslike probably what it feels like

(06:54):
when Ray shakes people's hands.
It was just like this tiny myhand was just this tiny little
thing in his mitt, you know.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
He'd be a rugby player.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
He would be a rugby player.
And I start, you know, talkingto him preaching the gospel, and
he just starts bawling his eyesout and I mean like waterfall.
Oh yeah, they were just likejust coming down and I walk him
through the law and the gospeland we pray, and when we're done

(07:23):
I remember him saying what do Ido now?
What do I do now?
And his family's behind him andI go why don't you go tell them
?
Preach the gospel to them?
And then he says, will you tellmy chief?
He grabs my arm and he startswalking us over to the chief's
home and I remember like, as hehad my arm with him, I'm like

(07:44):
man, if this guy got crazy, would I be able to escape?
Like I felt like I can, I justcouldn't move.
He was just a monster.
So he walks us over I'm aboutto turn it over to you, ez he
walks us over to the propertyand we walk over to the chief's
home and the chief wasn't there, but his wife and mother was.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Yeah, Mark, I'd actually like to hear from your
perspective.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Well, I remember we were eating lunch up in that
area, right, and I look over atOscar and I'm like what is going
on?
And I look over at Oscar andthe guy had his hand on the
shoulder.
They're holding onto each otherand I just remember looking, I
go, is the guy throwing up?
I mean, it really seemed likethat because there were so many
tears that were running down andwe captured it on camera so

(08:32):
many tears that were coming downthe guy's face.
The next thing I know, we arenow inside of this hut and
you're preaching the gospel tothe family, and now was it the
wife of the chief.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Yeah, the chief's wife One of the wives Because we
were at the chief's mother'shouse and his wife took us to
the mother's house across fromtheir house, and I didn't know
what to expect.
I'm thinking are we going toget killed here?
You know, like what's going on,and yeah, yeah and then you
share the gospel.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
and it was so neat, you know, I mean they have
nothing, but they realize thatwhat they needed was Christ and
to see you unashamedly, you know, talk about who God is and the
law, and then the gospel, andChrist crucified.
It was it just made.
I mean, if that was the onlything we did, it would have made

(09:18):
the whole trip absolutely worthit.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
And as you're preaching, PETA is behind you.
Still crying, Crying and likeyes.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Jesus amen, yes, well what really touched me was the
chief's wife was in tears and Isaid to her what you know,
what's going on right now, andshe said I just feel like you're
speaking directly to me.
I said I wasn't going to dothat, man, but you think about
all the things that connected, that made that happen.
It was amazing.
