Speaker 1 (00:00):
In this episode, we
are going to cover the exact
thing that may be the differencebetween you on a very simple,
easy maybe not always easy, butmore of a linear path towards
your goals, and one where youfeel like you're starting and
(00:24):
stopping, like you're here,you're there, you're everywhere
and nothing seems to behappening.
Stick around.
This is an important one.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Welcome.
Welcome to the show leaders.
Today's episode is we'recovering a topic that is super
(01:15):
super important.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
If you have any type
of goal, you are working towards
any type of vision that youwant to create, especially if
it's a bigger vision.
We are talking about the gapthat happens between when you
make the decision that you aregoing after something, that you
(01:39):
are desiring to create, something you are getting in the
energy right of it alreadybeing done.
You are excited, you have thisvision and what happens on that
journey from that decision, fromthat realization, to it
(02:01):
actually coming into yourreality, of it being in your
physical right, because if youlisten to the last episode I did
on manifesting, everything weare moving towards is already
done.
We're not actually creatinganything out of nothing, but
there is still a path that we godown that feels like it is a
(02:28):
journey, even though time isirrelevant, but that's a whole
nother podcast.
What happens on this journey iswe often start out with
excitement.
We start out with unbridled, just motivation.
(02:48):
This is what we're going to do.
You know we're running on allthose good hormones that are
released, all those goodchemicals released in our body,
and that doesn't last, in fact, once we start going on the
(03:10):
journey and we don't see resultsright away, which typically we
don't not all the time.
Sometimes results come fast andfurious, but sometimes we don't
see results.
Just think about, like, if wecan compare it to exercise.
I know for me when I used toexercise or I'd go on a new
(03:34):
routine in my 20s, sure I wouldsee results right away.
I can work out two days and I'dhave a huge change in my body.
Now in my 40s, no, that is nothappening.
It takes a significantly longertime for me to see the results
(03:55):
that I want.
When I am working on somethingand this is true for any kind of
vision that's worth anythingthere's often a period where we
start out with excitement andwe're not quite sure the steps
it's gonna take to achieve it.
(04:16):
We're not quite sure ofeverything because we haven't
done it yet.
And it doesn't matter if youare following someone else's
strategy, if you have it allmapped out.
There are still things thatcome up, the nuances of any
journey that make it a wholedifferent thing.
(04:38):
And what I've seen in my workwhat happens is a lot of times
people don't lean in to theenergy of perseverance and they
get caught up in the weeds.
And when they don't have aclear awareness of that, gap
(05:01):
right between when you start andwhen you actually start to see
the results that you want.
If they don't have anunderstanding of what happens in
that period or can happen, theycan feel lost.
They can feel like they'remaking a mistake.
The worst thing that I see and Isee it all the time, I see it
(05:23):
all the time, and I've beenguilty of this myself is that we
change paths and there'snothing wrong with changing a
path, by the way, there'snothing wrong with changing it
but we do not want to change thepath because we've suddenly got
in our head and think we're onthe wrong path, just because we
(05:47):
are not seeing the results thatwe want that quickly.
But I remember a time where Iwas doing something similar,
because when you're in that kindof a loop, you can get lost in
the blind spots of it.
So it's for me it's really easywhen someone else is doing it
(06:09):
to see that, or if I'm workingwith my clients, we can identify
it.
It's not as easy when you'redoing it yourself to see,
especially if it's somethingwhere I mean, let's be honest,
if you're doing that everycouple of days, that may be a
little easier to to realize, butif you're doing that every six
(06:29):
months or every you know fewmonths.
Mind you, we don't want to dosomething for years upon years.
If we're we're not getting theresults that we want, because
that is crazy.
If we're not getting theresults that we want, because
that is crazy.
But if we're being honest withourselves and we haven't put the
effort in or we haven't reallyput in that elbow grease to this
(06:55):
vision that we are desiring tocreate, and then we're switching
gears because we don't see theresults right away, especially
in the online space, orespecially when we're selling
something or we're offeringsomething or we're trying to
grow a social media, we want tobe aware that there's a gap
period where you may not seeresults.
(07:17):
In fact, you may not see muchresults at all.
That doesn't mean it's notworking at all.
That doesn't mean it's notworking.
That doesn't mean the energythat you're putting in is for
nothing.
It means to stay the course, especially if you're in the
beginning period and you'restill understanding what you're
(07:38):
doing.
So a weird thing that happensonline, I don't know.
So a weird thing that happensonline, I don't know.
I'm not sure what has createdthis.
I think it's a lot of those brogurus who push the narrative
that you can create a 10 pageebook and make millions of
(07:58):
dollars because people are justgoing to rush and purchase it.
Mind you, that's not really thecase anymore with ChatGPT, but
that was a narrative that wasgoing on years ago and I would
talk to a lot of people whowould get very frustrated and
very down on themselves becausethey would create something that
they were really passionateabout or they believed in and
(08:22):
they would put it out and eitherno one would purchase it, no
one would buy, or not manypeople would see it, and when we
really went in and startedlooking at things, they only
mentioned it, let's say, once,on their social media, or they
only put it out a couple timesand it's a delusion that we can
(08:45):
fall into, because what thatdoes if we have wounding around,
fear of rejection which many ofus do many right Fear of
rejection, fear of abandonmentthese are core wounds it can
trigger that and suddenly youcan get in your head and you can
start thinking well, nobodywants my stuff, nobody wants me,
(09:08):
I'm doing it wrong, I'm afailure.
And then you stop and it's likehold on, hold on.
No one's even seen this or noone's even registered yet.
Sometimes, you know, I postthings on my social media and I
think I've posted it.
It's like overkill, I think I'mposting it so much.
(09:28):
People are sick of it.
And then I will get on the callwith someone or have a
conversation and I'll ask themhey, did you see that thing that
I?
I was talking about?
Or I'm sure you've seen me andthey're like no, what is that,
if I haven't seen anything?
And they and they're regularsin my social media and they
haven't even seen it.
(09:49):
So we really have to put thingsinto perspective in that gap
phase, to watch our internaltriggers, where our wounds are
being triggered by things notworking out and where we
(10:19):
misjudge the process.
And now it's actually muchharder than we thought it was
going to be and we want to stop, especially if we have created a
vision that's completely inline with our values.
This is going to be a visionthat is going to literally blow
your mind.
It's going to feel sofulfilling, it's going to bring
(10:41):
so much joy to your life and thekey is to stay the course.
Do not give up Now, again, ifyou're doing something over and
over and it's been three yearsand you're not really seeing
what you want to see, thenplease do not keep doing the
same things over and over.
Now it's time to assess ourstrategy, assess what we're
(11:05):
doing, but that doesn't meanthat we need to change our
vision, right?
I really cautious anyone to giveup on their dreams, on their
vision, what they're desiring, because there is divine timing
that is at play with everything.
(11:27):
And as long as you get veryclear what the vision is, you
know and trust it's aligned withwho you are and the work that
you came here to do, and youtrust that you are being guided
to this in whatever shape orform, that is because it feels
(11:49):
right, it's coming from anauthentic desire, then you can
be sure that you are going toreach there or something better.
So not to get in your head andstart questioning everything and
doubting that it's possible foryou.
So a couple things that you cando when you have this vision,
(12:13):
when you have an awareness ofwhat you're creating, do some
research on what it actuallytakes, and this isn't to go down
a rabbit hole and go down andfeel like, oh my God, this is so
much stuff, I don't know if Ican do this, but just have an
awareness of.
(12:33):
Okay, you know what this isgoing to have, these different
moving parts I understand.
You know this is new territory.
There's going to be a learningcurve.
There's going to be things Ihave to do that feel challenging
and hard.
I may not see results rightaway, that's okay.
(12:54):
It doesn't mean I'm off trackand, if you can, this is one of
the biggest reasons to hire acoach and I'm not just trying,
I'm not just saying that topromote coaching, but it is so,
so important to have support inthat gap phase.
(13:17):
So one you don't start to godown these rabbit holes and
start talking yourself out ofthings and start just going all
haywire.
Lord knows listen, I can speakon this because I've been there
and when you can have a coach,or you're in a group or you're
(13:37):
in something that is keeping youon point right, keeping you on
your path, so you can simplyshow up and do what's needed,
not get in your head, notoverthink, not go down into doom
and gloom, stay the course, have an easier time staying the
(14:02):
course, staying accountable andwork through that inner critic
that comes in during the gap andstarts trying to throw you all
these false truths or yourwounding comes up and it starts
making you question your entirereality and existence and what
(14:26):
you're doing on earth.
Critical to have, and if you'reat a place where you can't
afford that or you don't havemoney to put even though I would
say if you have money to puttowards a vision, I would highly
recommend allocating some ofthat to coaching or some kind of
(14:47):
a group.
Not all groups.
Groups are at every differentlevel, every different price
range.
Mind you, being with a group ofhigh level entrepreneurs or
business leaders or creativeswill likely give you a different
experience than being with agroup that is perhaps not at
(15:11):
that level, and I'm onlyspeaking from experience being
in these different groups.
There's a different level ofawareness and clarity and
encouragement that I haveexperienced in higher level
(15:32):
groups and coaching containersthan lower ones, and that's
simply because I find thatthere's less fear, there's more
ambition and there's more what'sthe word I'm looking for Risk
tolerance.
There's more perseverance andrisk tolerance.
Now, that is my experience.
(15:54):
I'm not saying that you have togo into a high level coaching
container to get great coaching.
You may find that with acompletely free group, an
accountability buddy group thatyou can find or curate, and that
is enough for you, although Iwill preface and say I
(16:15):
personally, I haven't found thatmyself.
As for me, I need to have skinin the game to really be
accountable.
I am not great at justaccountability buddies, I'm
really not.
And and that's okay I knowwhere, I know, I know my limits
and I know what works for me.
(16:36):
But for you you, if you'relistening and you have a big
vision and you know you get inyour head the strategies.
I want you to implore is onereally have an idea of what this
is going to be like and committo the process.
Know that if you are creatingthis vision, if you are
(17:00):
dedicated and committed tohaving this, there's going to be
challenges, and you really gotto get the mindset right.
And there's a reason why mostpeople do not do this.
Do not go after anything biggerthan status quo or where they
are, because it's hard, it'schallenging.
There are challenging moments.
(17:21):
Now it's not always hard, andwe can argue that hard is also
being in status quo, when youknow that you are driven for
more.
So it's that old saying ofchoose your hard.
And second strategy is to findsupport.
Make it easy on yourself.
(17:42):
There's a reason why everysuccessful person I know has
mentorship, coaches, mastermindsbecause it's not only a lonely
journey when you're doing it onyour own, but it can be
(18:03):
challenging in that gap whereyou're working towards something
you're putting in so much time, effort, money, you're not
seeing the results and in thosemoments you need to have people
to talk you through it, even ifit's just listening to what
(18:23):
you're going through and lettingyou know that it's okay, it's
part of the journey.
You literally have this.
We've all been through this andyou will get to the other side.
Stay the course, stay thecourse.
Okay, leaders, that's it forthis episode.
(18:44):
