What if the key to rapid transformation isn't endlessly rehashing your problems, but instead identifying and releasing the stories keeping you stuck? Drawing from a decade of coaching experience with top performers, I share the game-changing insight my first coach taught me that revolutionized my approach to personal growth.

Most of us walk around with massive blind spots—subconscious thought patterns that keep us trapped in disempowering loops. You might be unconsciously telling yourself things you'd never say to your worst enemy! These hidden narratives create the frequency that determines what you attract into your life. When you're not where you want to be—whether in relationships, finances, or career fulfillment—it's almost always because of a limiting story operating behind the scenes.

The real magic happens when we stop viewing ourselves as broken people who need fixing and instead recognize ourselves as divine creators temporarily weighed down by stories that no longer serve us. I experienced this firsthand with anxiety. Rather than identifying as "someone with anxiety," I began seeing anxiety as just something that occasionally visited but wasn't my identity. This simple shift accelerated my healing dramatically.

Want to discover your own blind spots? Start tracking your thoughts for a week. Write down what you're telling yourself whenever you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated. The patterns will reveal themselves, showing you exactly where transformation needs to happen. When you change what's happening inside, your external reality shifts rapidly—not because you're doing more, but because you're being different.

Ready to break free from limiting narratives and step into your magnetic power? Email info@lisajeffs.com to discuss private coaching or the Magnetic Leadership Accelerator program. True transformation awaits when you're ready to release what no longer serves you and embrace who you truly are.

Welcome to the show leaders, welcome to the Magnetic Leader
Podcast.
I am your host, lisa Jeffs.
This is where we don't just talkabout confidence and success.

(00:45):
We embody it.
After a decade of coaching topperformers, I know one thing for
sure Success isn't about doingmore.
It's about becoming the versionof you who naturally attracts
what you desire, attracts whatyou desire.

(01:09):
Let's dive into this episode.
Leaders, I wanted to share withyou one thing that I've learned
from my first coach, whichchanged my life, first of all,
drastically rapidly.
I mirror a lot of that in mywork currently because it is so
foundational.
It's also so highly effectiveof helping a person to make

(01:32):
shifts quickly and when I get ona call with someone I take
calls every week from peoplethat need help and I get in a
call with someone and they'retelling me that they've been
working with someone apractitioner or another coach or
another therapist or somethinglike that and they've been

(01:54):
working with them for years.
We should not be working on thesame issue for years and years,
and years.
This is when we are loopingaround a story.

(02:14):
Now, that's not to say thathealing doesn't go in layers,
because you can absolutely behealing something one year and
you think you're done, and thenthree, five, 10 years later,
something pops up again, butit's a new layer of that.
You're not going around thesame story over and over again.

(02:38):
But when I hear this, I knowthat that person is hungry and
ready for true transformation.
Because, let me tell you, whenyou are doing the right things,
when you are doing what'sactually effective and not
surface level and not justscratching the surface of

(03:01):
something, you feel the shiftand you feel it fast.
There are clients that I'mcurrently working with that have
shifted radically after thefirst session I have worked with
individuals.
After the first 10 minutes theyare telling me that they've
gotten more out of ourconversation than years working

(03:23):
with the other individuals, thatthey've gotten more out of our
conversation than years workingwith the other individuals that
they've been working with and Idon't say this to make it sound
like I'm some kind of specialsnowflake, even though I do
think I'm special.
I think everybody is special.
I'm saying it because I focusin on what is effective, what

(03:43):
goes to the core, so we canstart moving forward, even when
we are doing healing work.
The purpose of doing it is toshift, is to shift a pattern, to
go over the same thing over andover and over again.
We get addicted to this.
Human beings get addicted totheir stories and there's a part

(04:06):
of us that indulges in thestory, especially if we feel
like a victim of something.
I often talk about shadowaspects in my work and one of
the shadow aspects is the victim.
Now, the victim loves toindulge in victim stories.

(04:29):
It feeds off of this.
This is a problem.
This keeps people trapped inloops and stories and
disempowered.
If you are not where you wantto be, if there is something
that you would like in your lifeand it's not there, then
chances are you're in a state ofdisempowerment.

(04:52):
Somewhere.
There's some story operating inthe background that is
disempowering you.
Part of the work is uncoveringand bringing all that stuff to
the surface so we can see thetruth of it so we can see it for

(05:13):
what it is An illusion.
That is not the truth of whoyou are.
You are not your stories, youare not your trauma.
You are not a label.
This is one of the reasons whyI'm not a fan of labels.

(05:35):
I don't like them.
They are restricting, limiting, they put you in a box.
Sometimes a label can be helpful, especially if we've been
challenged with something for awhile and then we can give it a
label.
So for me, when I was younger,I had very severe social anxiety

(05:59):
, anxiety in general, and when Igot older, giving it a name,
anxiety was helpful.
Oh, that makes sense.
It's not actually who I am atmy core.
That's something that I'mworking through at the moment
but it got to a point where itbecame a hindrance.

(06:20):
A hindrance Saying that I haveanxiety got to where I was
creating the story.
I was reliving that every dayas someone who had anxiety, part
of my journey of healing theanxiety and it's not to say that

(06:40):
I never feel anxiety now, butit is nowhere nowhere even in
the same planet as what it usedto be.
It used to be debilitating.
There were moments where Iwould black out.
Panic attacks like it was verydebilitating, as where it is now
.
It's something that sometimeswill come on.

(07:02):
It's like, oh no, there's thatold part just popping its head
to kind of say hi, and then itjust dissipates.
Part of my healing wasreleasing that label, no longer
identifying with that label.
I'm not somebody with anxiety.
Anxiety is simply somethingthat comes on once in a while

(07:26):
and then it dissipates.
I am, I am, I am, I am.
You are more than any of thestories.
You are more than the labels.
You are more than your thoughts.

(07:46):
So, going into what my firstcoach taught me and the work
that we did at the beginning wasreally paying attention to what
I was telling myself daily, thethoughts that were spinning

(08:07):
around my mind.
This was critical.
I had no idea the words that Iwas saying to myself.
We have blind spots, we havehuge blind spots.
I was a fairly positive person,to be honest.

(08:29):
When I started tracking mythoughts, however, I started
noticing some really significantissues there, some really
significant loops that I hadacquired somewhere along the way
that were extremely limiting, very limiting Things I would

(08:54):
never even say to my worst enemy.
I was saying to myselfrepeatedly daily we have massive
blind spots.
When I am working with someone,or when I'm working with a
client, I can see one of mygifts is just immediately
zeroing in with precision whatthat blind spot is, what the
issue is, immediately zeroing inwith precision what that blind

(09:17):
spot is, what the issue is.
And nobody goes aroundconsciously, you know, keeping
themselves in a loop.
Now, actually, I shouldn't saythat, because sometimes we do

(09:43):
consciously do that.
However, there's other piecesgoing on here, but it's very
easy to be blinded by your ownpatterns, and when I started
working with my my coach and shehad me tracking my thoughts
which we later dug into andreally got to the core of what
beliefs were there I was inshock.
I was actually in shock.
I couldn't believe what I wassaying to myself, and it was
such a pivotal moment where Iimmediately knew exactly what I

(10:09):
needed to change, exactly theroot of so many of my challenges
.
A lot of people don't know whatare my blind spots.
Well, start tracking yourthoughts.
Start, literally.
Take a paper and a pen, take anotepad, carry it around with

(10:31):
you for a week and start totrack.
You will notice the patterns.
You will see what you're sayingto yourself Anytime you don't
feel great, anytime you don'tfeel you feel overwhelmed, take

(10:52):
out that paper, take out yourpen, write down what you are
saying.
If you are in a relationshipthat is not fulfilling, that is
not making you happy, there's astory about that that you're
telling yourself every singleday.
If you are not making the moneyyou want to make, what story

(11:17):
are you telling yourself aroundmoney, around opportunities,
around the world we live in, howthe world works, what's the
mindset you're operating in?
If you are in a job that's notmaking you happy, what is the
story you're telling yourself?
What is the story you'retelling yourself?

(11:40):
A lot of times we're tellingourselves these stories that
keep us trapped in a realitythat is not fulfilling us.
These are simply stories.
This is the foundational part ofthe work, because we can't
shift your frequency if we don'tactually understand what is

(12:03):
creating the frequency we are incurrently Our thoughts.
Our thoughts are having amassive impact on our frequency.
To change our reality is notjust about doing a bunch of
stuff.
It's about shifting ourfrequency.
This is an energetic world.
This is a magnetic world.

(12:27):
You want something different.
You have to change what'sinside first.
You cannot escape this.
You cannot escape this fromdoing more.
It's not gonna work.
You're gonna keep bumping yourhead against the wall.
Why isn't this working?

(12:47):
Why isn't this working?
Why is nothing changing?
Because you're not changing.
Because you are not changingand I say that with love, not to
point fingers, because I'vebeen stuck in many different
patterns and been frustrated, like I'm on a train and the

(13:08):
train is just going around incircles and I'm like what is
going on here?
Why can't I break free from this?
Why can't I move forward?
I feel like I'm doing all theright things, because it's not
about doing the right things.
It's about shifting theinternal narrative.
First and again, this is why wehave blind spots.
We have blind spots.

(13:30):
We think we're doing it andwe're just going around in
circles, or we're not evenmoving.
We're just in quicksand andwe're just stuck there.
It's the economy, it's thedating realm, it's the
opportunities out there, it'swhat's happening outside of
ourselves.
No, it's what's happeninginside of ourselves, and when we

(13:51):
change what's happening inside, things shift rapidly in our
external world.
So a big part of what that myfirst coach taught me about this
was that it's also not aboutfixing anything right.

(14:14):
We're not, we're not broken,nobody's broken.
I don't care what life you'veexperienced, what has happened
to you, what you think yourinternal world is.
I work with a lot of people whothink that they are somehow just
quote unquote more messed upthan anyone else, and if that is

(14:37):
furthest from the truth, youknow, one of the most amazing
things that happened to me in myjourney as a coach was starting
to work with all differenttypes of people and realizing
that everybody has pretty much ahandful of issues and we're all

(15:00):
the same.
We don't all have the samechallenges, but it's just a
handful of different things andwe're just all repeating the
same challenge.
It's a human thing.
It's not a personal problem.
It's the challenges of humanity.
And it helped me realize my ownproblems, or my own challenges

(15:22):
or what I was viewing asproblems and challenges, weren't
about fixing anything.
It was an opportunity to assesswhat was happening with
curiosity and to make thedecision that, yes, I want to
change things because I have agrowth mindset, not a fixed

(15:45):
mindset, and I believe that wecan grow and we can change and
we can expand, and a big part ofour work that we are doing on
this planet right now is lettinggo and releasing we're not
fixing.
We're releasing all thesestories, all these beliefs that

(16:05):
aren't serving us, all theheaviness, all the burdens, so
we can step into this expandedstate and start claiming our
right as a creator, startclaiming our right as divine
creators in this existence andstart having fun with our

(16:29):
creation.
Start having fun with life, start falling in love with life
and your ability to create andyourself as a human being.
Holy shit, it's such adifferent reality when you can
do that.
It's such a magnifying realitywhen you can let go of the BS,

(16:52):
the stories, the survival ofprogramming and step into a
whole new way of being.
Let me tell you your life, yourmindset, your energy, your
frequency is gonna shift andyou're gonna start attracting
all these incredible people andopportunities and things into

(17:13):
your life that make it feel soon fire and so magnetic that you
wake up every day freakingexcited to be alive.
This is not Pollyanna, positivity or whatever that even
means.
This is real life that isavailable to you.

(17:36):
When I wake up in the morning, Iam freaking excited about my
day.
Now I'm going to caveat thatand say there are some days
where I don't wake up like that.
I'm not trying to put a fake orphony Instagram filter on
reality.
Not every day is going to feellike that.

(17:58):
Some days I feel a little bittired.
Some days days I feel a littlebit tired.
Some days I feel a little bitoverwhelmed.
There's a lot going on, but forthe most part, I'm waking up
pretty damn excited for my day, because I am doing the work that
I love, I am surrounded bypeople that I love, I am aligned
with my values, I am alignedwith my purpose and I feel

(18:21):
supported.
I feel supported in my life.
I am no longer under thementality that it's all on me,
and that was a huge shift for me.
That was a huge shift in myworld was feeling like I was
finally supported, that peoplesaw me for who I am, beyond the

(18:48):
stories and limitations that Isaw of myself.
Not only my first coach, butall my coaches and mentors.
This has been a gift that theyhave given me, that they have
seen the truth of who I am andreflected that back to me,
mirrored that back to me, so Icould see my brilliance, because

(19:13):
there was a point in my lifewhere I couldn't see it at all.
I literally couldn't see it.
I was not able to see my gifts,my abilities.
I wasn't connected to that partof me and there was actually
one coach that I had a littlebit later on in my journey and

(19:33):
she truly connected me to myhigher self, which was a big, a
huge upgrade in my life where Icould finally feel that energy
and that power.
That's one of the things that Ido with my one-on-one clients
now we do work connecting you toyour higher self, so far beyond

(19:58):
the small human that can takeover and start limiting our life
, our relationships, ouropportunities.
So, last but not least, I meanthere's so many things that my
first coach taught me, that allmy coaches taught me that I can
share and I will be continuingto share, but a big part of it

(20:23):
was that, yes, I listen.
There are some people that willtell you you need a coach, you
need a coach, you have to get acoach If you, if you want to do
anything in your life, you needa coach, and they'll use a
reference like athletes of youknow, every, every pro athlete
has a coach.
Now I believe right, becauseI'm all about empowerment that,

(20:49):
yes, we can achieve great thingson our own.
However, I do think it willtypically take way way longer
than it needs to take, than ithas to take.
I also believe that we are onthis planet to experience

(21:10):
humanity.
It's not a solo mission.
This is a group involvement, and working with a coach is one
of the fastest ways to excelyourself, to get over the
stories, get over thelimitations and point yourself

(21:32):
in the right direction and justexpedite your results.
Not because you're not capableof doing that on your own, but
because if you're meant to dosomething in this world
significant, you're meant to doit within a team, within a team,

(21:58):
and that coach is part of yourteam.
Especially if you have apurpose of changing the world,
of helping the world, ofimproving the world in any way,
then you are extremely divinelyguided and you can trust.
If you're brought to a coachand you feel that feeling, that
is for a reason you are meant towork with that coach.
That is your path of leastresistance.

(22:19):
That is going to help you onyour path, and I say this to
release the fears aroundinvesting in a coach.
I know what it's like to makebig investments in coaching and
mentorship.
The first, really, really biginvestment I did, which was a

(22:41):
20K approximately 20K Canadian.
I paid in American dollars andit's funny because I didn't even
, to be honest, use thatmentorship as much as I could
have because of my ownresistance at that time.
However, that was the firsttime I exploded.

(23:04):
What my income was into the sixfigures, not even using it to
its full capacity.
So you really have to let go ofthe fears that are telling you
I don't know if it's, you knowif it's going to, if it's going
to be helpful, it's a lot ofmoney.

(23:25):
I don't know all thesehesitations, all these fears.
I understand them.
Believe me.
It's not that I, you know, madeany of my investments just willy
nilly, but I always tuned inand listened to my intuition.
The only time that it didn't gowell was when I did not listen

(23:48):
to my intuition.
This was, I think this, this, the second coach that I hired.
No, it would have maybe thethird or fourth coach I hired.
I've been doing this about 11years, so it's not that I'm
saying you should work with awhole bunch of different coaches
, but I worked with differentones at different stages in my
growth, in my life, in mybusiness, and the only time I

(24:10):
didn't it didn't go well waswhen I didn't listen to my
intuition and go with a coachthat was more expensive or more
of an investment, and I wentwith the one that wasn't.
It was more comfortable for meand it was just not the fit.
I won't go into details withwith it that's a story for

(24:31):
another time but it wasn't thefit and I made a pact with
myself that day that I would notmake decisions from a place of
scarcity or lack and limitationand I would trust where I was
guided, was meant to be and themoney would come after.
And it always has.
And I'm not saying that you justgo out and rush and make a

(24:56):
decision.
I'm saying listen to yourintuition, listen to your gut.
If you are guided towardssomeone whether that's me or
someone else and they keeppopping up, and they keep
popping up, that's for a reason.
Don't make things harder thanthey need to be.
Don't make things harder thanthey need to be and trust

(25:19):
yourself that you will get thevalue from it.
I know a lot of other peoplecan hold themselves back because
they're in their head aboutsomething.
I'm going to wrap this up, butthat truly is one of the biggest
things I got from.
My first coach was notidentifying with the stories,

(25:44):
not identifying with thelimitations with the stories,
with all the goobly goop goingaround in my mind holding me
back, keeping me stuck, and tostart seeing them and really
understanding that.
Oh, you know a lot of thesestories, a lot of these patterns
.
I picked them up along the wayand maybe at one time they were

(26:10):
helpful for me, but they are nolonger helpful and to move
forward, I need to start lettinggo.
Letting go and bringing in whatis going to serve me more.
This is the way to transform, and transform rapidly.

(26:30):
Not talking about your stuffover and over and over again,
not getting up like it'sGroundhog Day in the same energy
, in the same frequency.
Again, no judgment, I did thatfor a long time.
But in letting go and reallygetting clear, what do I need
for this next step?
And or what even is the nextstep?

(26:54):
Getting out of your head, getting the support you need.
If you would like to talk to meabout private coaching, please
send me an email at info atlisajeffscom.
Again, there is an applicationprocess.
However, if I do not think it'sa fit or we decide you should
go in another way, I will do mybest to direct you what I do

(27:18):
think is a better fit for you soyou're not left hanging.
Or you can speak to me aboutthe Magnetic Leadership
Accelerator, which is in thebeta round, which is in the beta
round, such an insanelypowerful program that I am super
, super excited about.

wait, reach out, send me anemail and we'll have a
conversation to see if it's afit, as always.
