Speaker 1 (00:05):
You are listening to The Manning Show with You and Manning,
your number one sports podcast starts now. Welcome in again,
back another episode, been a little while, started doing them
every week again here on The Manning Show, You and
(00:27):
Manning your host of it. We're gonna do like a
little I don't even know, little NFL recap breakdown today
and then maybe get into a little bit of tonight's game.
It's a big game for sure throughout the NFL. And
then later in the week we will do a little
(00:47):
oilers thing as they are now on a five day break.
It's pretty pretty important stuff there. So nonetheless, let's get
started here, getting started all the way in the Cowboys
or Commanders. Absolutely fantastic game in terms of viewership, thirty
(01:09):
four to twenty six win for the Cowboys, tough loss
for the Washington Commanders, being down very late in the game,
coming back and throwing a eighty nine yard TD to
Terry McLaurin after Cal Turpin took the fake spin that
(01:31):
much of you must must have seen on Instagram wherever
you were looking at your social media. He fake spun
and then went the other way and took it all
the way to the house. So that was an unbelievable
kick return, and then Terry McLaurin goes all the way
down and then they missed the extra point, and then
they try the on sidekick and Thomas gets a kick
(01:53):
return TD. So that was a really, really fantastic game,
ended up with the Cowboys winning with a late game
innerception to Enitt here this is where Baker Mayfield ended
up absolutely cooking the Giants running in for a touchdown
and then where she'd write and Bucky Irvin who had
a massive game one hundred and fifty one yards total
(02:16):
on twelve carries, winning that game thirty to seven. Unbelievable
stuff there. For the Buccaneers, Tommy DeVito did not really
look great and Malik Daberston start getting the ball to
the second half, which many of you must saw his postgame.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Interview about it.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
He was not very happy now coming in the Dolphins
and Patriots, Dolphins taking it thirty four point fifteen, improving
the record of five and six after losing quite a
few games in a row with two a tag if
I low out. It kind of started with a big
wrin over the Rams when I was in the house
(02:54):
there in La Jalen Water had a massive day, eight receptions,
one hundred and forty four yards and a touchdown. He
was on my fantasy bench, so that's all great. Devon
Ah Chang also a two tds and John new Smith
has been getting the ball a ton recently. He goes
for eighty seven yards, a touchdown, nine receptions, which is
(03:16):
really really crazy.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
And the other day he had.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Two touchdowns, one hundred and one yards and six receptions
against Las Vegas. So from watching the game, it looks
like he's been heating up a lot more. He's looked really,
really really good overall. Then coming in we got the
lines and the Colts. The lines end up taking this
game twenty four to six over the Colts. Not the
(03:42):
greatest game in terms of Jared Goff, but Jamiir Gibbs
had two tds monts he got in the end zone
as well, only on eight carries. Anthony Richardson looked, he looked, okay,
I mean they were moving the ball a lot. Jonathan
Taylor looks washed. They could not run the ball at all,
which really kills them when you're just trying to pass,
(04:03):
especially against a decent Detroit defense. So overall, not great
for the Colts. Then a crazy game here the Titans
end up beating the Texans. Fair Baron gets driven all
the way down the field and then misses the twenty
eight yard field goal to tie the game. The Texans
somehow get a stop late, but C. J. Stroud gets
(04:26):
sacked in his own end zone and that would do it.
Nico Collins having a big game with ninety two yards
and a touchdown. Great back from injury, looked really good,
and Tony Pollard was the big one, having twenty four
carriage a touchdown one hundred and twenty nine yards. Will
Levis also looked pretty good, even though he had a
couple quite poor throws in that game.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Then we had the Vikings and Bears. The Vikings.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Finding a way to win this this game, the Bears
driving down the field, a big, big game for Keenan
Allen and Dj Moore both with touchdown reception Dj Moore
one hundred nineteen yards on seven receptions, Keen now and
nine receptions on eighty six yards. They go drive down,
throw TD and get the two point conversion. Cale Williams
looked pretty good and then they try the on side
(05:14):
kick they get it back. Kil Williams finds DJ Moore
in a thirty yard catch, they spike it and then
Santos nails the forty eight yard field goal. Unfortunately, they
would get stopped in overtime and Minnesota would drive the
field and go win that huge divisional game. Then out
here in Carolina, we had the Chiefs and the Panthers.
(05:37):
The Panthers having a big week. Bryce Young looked really
really good the last two weeks. He's looked really solid. Nonetheless,
they had a late game comeback that forced the Chiefs
to have to drive against a very very bad defense,
which isn't too hard to do, leaving the ball in
Mahomes hands to go down the field and score and
(06:00):
kick the game winning the field goal with their new
kicker who went for three for three on field goals
and three for three on extra points Straders, so congrats
to him. That was a big game for him. Then
down in Denver, Boonicks, who has been talked about as
maybe the rookie of the year, finding Courtland Sutton for
two tds in ninety seven yards. He would throw two
(06:22):
passing touchdowns, both to Courtland Sutton. They would go two
for four in the red zone, winning twenty nine to
nineteen over the Raiders, who really struggled and Gardner Minshew
got hurt and out for the season. Nonetheless, Jacoby Myers
having a big, big day one hundred and twenty one
yards and ten receptions. Then kind of a snooze fest
(06:43):
of a game. The Seahawks and Cardinals are really low
scoring NFC West matchup, as the Seahawks end up barely
sneaking their way out with a win. Jackson Smith and
Jake but has looked very very good, looking like the
wide receiver one here in Seattle, Dk Metcalf four receptions
fifty nine yards, Kenth Walker sixteen carries for ninety three yards.
(07:06):
Didn't really look great Kyler Murray in terms of the
passing game, Marvin Harrison Junior three receptions for forty seven yards.
Trey McBride with the massive game though, one hundred and
thirty three yards on twelve receptions, making most of their
passing yards today. The Packers ended up smoking the pertyless
Niners thirty eight to ten. The Niners are really struggling
(07:29):
sintin at five and six, now fourth in the NFC West,
just not looking like a great a great team. Deebo
Samuel looking like he's washed as well with one reception
for twenty one yards.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
There.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
They've got some real questions there with the injuries that
they've had, but they haven't looked good when everyone was
back as well, So that was a pretty pretty important
piece to note. Jordan Love throwing for two passing touchdowns,
but the big one Josh Jacobs twenty six carries, one
hundred and six yards and three tds, So that's big
for fantasy managers.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
He was getting the ball a ton.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
And then we go into Sunday night, the Rams losing
to Saquon and aj Brown thirty seven to twenty. My
Los Angeles Rams defense was not able to stop the
run or the pass really because they're not a good defense.
They have a good pass rush, that's about it. Tayklon
Barkley with three hundred and two all purpose yards and
two touchdowns on twenty six carries. The only bright spot
(08:29):
was the Los Angeles offense. Matthew Stafford throwing for two
passing touchdowns and Puka Nakua having nine receptions for one
hundred and seventeen yards and cup a touchdown eight receptions
for sixty yards, so that the offense is looking really
really solid, but of course the defense.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Not looking that solid.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Tonight we got a game. The Ravens and Chargers are
at it tonight. Ravens are seven and four, Chargers are
seven and three. It's gonna be really interesting to see
how the Ravens can bounce back after a brutal loss
against the Steelers, who had a rough Thursday night game
(09:11):
against the Browns, who ended up beating them on the
last drive in the snow game. Started the game, it
was absolutely clear and then it started snowing and boom,
so you can see some crazy posts on Instagram about
the snow falling and it really the Steelers could not
get anything going. They've been kicking a lot of field goals.
(09:33):
So the Ravens have a big task night and the Chargers,
who have looked really good.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
JK. Dobbins has been excellent.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
He had two touchdowns last game on Sunday Night Football
against the Bengals. Nonetheless, another prime time game for the Chargers.
So yeah, they can they can keep it going. There's
seven and three looking really really good. They are second.
I'm pretty sure you have second in the AFC West.
I mean, if they win this game over the Ravens
it's who knows what's gonna happen for both. The Ravens
(10:05):
would be sitting at seven and five. If they lose,
They're seven and four right now, heading into a big week.
On Thursday, we have the Thanksgiving games, so this is
fun for all football fans. Bears and Lines at ten
thirty am, then Giants and Cowboys at two thirty, and
then at six twenty we got the Dolphins and Packers
going at its. Then on Friday we have a game
(10:26):
at one pm as well. The Chiefs and Raiders are
are playing then, so have to watch that one for sure,
so that means not as many games. On Sunday, your
Chargers in Falcons will be a fun matchup. Then you
got a divisional game Steelers and Bengals, which is gonna
be a fun one. Texans and Jags, Cardinals and Vikings,
(10:46):
Colts and Patriots, Seahawks and Jets, Titans and Commanders, Bucks
and Panthers, Eagles and Ravens, forty nine, Ers and Bills
with all excellent games. The Rams and Saints also going
at it at that time, So big games for some
(11:08):
of these wild card teams who are looking to make
a push, especially the forty nine Ers and the Bills,
and then the big game the Eagles and the Ravens.
So I'll be interesting to see how the Ravens do
with the tough games that they have in coming here,
the Steelers and the Chargers, then the Bills, so it'd
be really interesting to see how they can cover that. Nonetheless,
(11:34):
that was the breakdown of the NFL for today.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
We would likely be back sometime next week.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Break down a little bit, but nonetheless, we got a
big Monday night game. We should do a breakdown tomorrow
and then we'll have our Edmonton sports talk as.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Well a little bit of NHL. It's none the less.
