(00:00):
Hello and welcome to the MarketYour Message Show.
I'm your host, JonathanMilligan, and I'm the author of
the series.
We're going through the YourMessage Matter series.
This is book number five, scaleYour Income, and today we're
gonna listen to chapter four ofthe audio book.
Now this is where I begin toshare over the next couple

(00:21):
episodes my five scalingframeworks.
Each of these can be used toscale your business.
And make multiple income streamsas a writer, teacher, speaker,
or coach.
So in this particular episode,we're gonna talk about one of my
favorites.
It's the first one I ever usedcalled the Hub and Spoke Income

(00:45):
Method, and we are gonna jumpright into it.
But before we do, if you want acopy of the book to go along
with this audio book.
All you gotta do is go to Amazonor go to a bookstore that you
buy your books from, or you cango to platform growth books.com.
Alright, without further ado, let's get in to chapter number

(01:06):
four.
I.
Chapter four, blueprint numberone, the hub and Spoke Income
method.
What if I told you there was asmarter and faster way to share
your message with the world?
A way to turn a single idea intomultiple income streams without
feeling overwhelmed byconstantly creating something
new.
For many bloggers and creators, the challenge isn't a good

(01:28):
message.
It's about using that messageefficiently.
We often get caught up in thecycle of trying to create the
next big thing, hoping it willfinally take our business to the
next level.
But here's the reality.
Focusing on one product alonecan lead to frustration.
It's easy to feel like all thework, the marketing, and the
promotion didn't yield theresults we expected.

(01:51):
So what's the answer?
Repurpose.
Instead of putting all yourenergy into one product, you can
take that same core message andrepurpose it into a variety of
offerings.
By doing this, you're no longerdependent on a single pathway to
reach your audience.
You're giving them multipleentry points to engage with your
message, which opens the door tocreating several streams of

(02:12):
income at once.
I've experienced this firsthand.
It all started with one idea, abook I was planning.
But instead of just launchingthe book, I took a different
approach.
Over the course of 12 months, Iturned that single message into
seven distinct income streams.
Let me take you back to thebeginning, how I created seven

(02:32):
income streams in 12 months fromone message.
The idea hit me in a Panerabread.
I was meeting with a coachingclient who had driven two and a
half hours just to spend acouple of hours with me as he
explained his businessstruggles.
I had a realization he wasn'tjust missing a product or two,
he needed a whole framework.

(02:54):
It sounds like you need anexpert's product wheel.
I said.
Then I grabbed a napkin andsketched out what would become
the hub and spoke blueprint.
His core message was at thecenter of the diagram.
Branching out from it were waysto deliver that message.
Events speaking, coaching adigital book, a physical book,
an audio book, and an onlinecourse.

(03:16):
Each one was a potential incomestream connected to the same
core idea.
The simplicity of this modelstruck me.
Not only did it offer multipleways to reach people, but it
also provided multiple ways toget paid for delivering the same
message That day.
As I explained this to myclient, I realized I needed to
do the exact same thing for myown business.

(03:38):
I left Panera knowing I wassitting on a strategy that could
completely transform myapproach.
At the time I was working on anew book concept, but instead of
treating it as a standaloneproject, I decided to make it
the hub of a year long plan.
My goal create seven differentincome streams from that single
message.
Here's how I did it.

(03:59):
Month one, I started byoutlining the core message.
This wasn't just a rough draftfor a book, it was a roadmap for
how I would teach coach andpresent that message across
different platforms.
Months two through four, I wrotethe first draft of my book.
This was going to be thefoundation, the piece that
everything else would buildfrom.

(04:20):
Month five.
I launched the Kindle version ofmy book, creating my First
Income Stream.
Month six, I followed it up witha self-published paperback
version, establishing a secondstream.
Month seven, I narrated andreleased the audiobook on
Amazon, iTunes, and Audible, which became the third income.

(04:41):
Month eight.
I crafted three keynote talksbased on the book, which opened
the door to speaking engagementsand created my fourth income
stream.
Month nine, I launched amembership site tied to the
book's principles generatingmonthly recurring revenue, a
fifth stream month 10.
I rolled out a group coachingprogram where participants could

(05:04):
work through the books contentwith my guidance.
Adding a sixth stream.
Month 12.
Finally, I hosted a livehigh-end workshop, which became
the seventh income stream, andallowed me to teach my core
message in person in just oneyear.
I had created seven incomestream from a single idea, and
the beauty of it was that Iwasn't constantly reinventing

(05:25):
the wheel.
I was simply repurposing onemessage into multiple formats,
each tailored to a differentpart of my audience.
Some people prefer books.
Others like to learn throughcourses or live events and still
others seek out one-on-onecoaching.
By offering all of these, I wasable to maximize my reach and

(05:47):
more importantly, my revenue.
The hub and spoke model at theheart of scaling your income
lies a simple but powerfulconcept.
The hub and spoke model.
This framework lets you takeyour core message the hub, and
extend it into income generatingproducts and services.
The spokes each spoke is aunique way to deliver the same

(06:09):
message.
It will reach different audiencesegments and create new revenue
streams.
Imagine a wheel.
The hub is your core message, the single most important idea
that you wanna share with theworld.
Whether you're a coach, author, speaker, or teacher, that core
message is the foundation ofeverything you do.
The spokes from the hub are theways to deliver that message.

(06:31):
Books, courses, workshops,coaching sessions, keynote
talks, membership sites, andmore.
These folks don't just spreadyour message to a wider
audience.
They also provide multiple waysfor you to get paid.
The genius of this model is itsflexibility.
You're not confined to onemethod of delivery.
Instead, you're expanding yourreach.

(06:52):
You're using various platformsto suit different learning
needs.
Some people wanna dive into abook.
Others prefer hands-on workshopsand still others.
Seek out one-on-one coaching byusing the hub and spoke model.
You meet your audience wherethey are.
You also give them many ways toengage with your message.
How the hub and spoke frameworkworks at the center of the Hub

(07:16):
and spoke framework is your coremessage.
This is your central idea, thesolution or transformation you
offer to your audience.
Your message doesn't change asit branches into various
products or services.
It's delivered through differentformats, making it accessible in
new ways.
Here's how it breaks down thehub core message.

(07:36):
This is the main idea you wannashare with your audience.
It could be your strategy tosolve a problem, the framework
you teach, or the principlesyou've created to help others
achieve a goal.
Think of the hub as theessential blueprint.
You've developed the spokesincome streams.
Each spoke represents a product, service, or platform that
delivers your core message in adifferent way.

(07:59):
For example, book a writtenversion of your core message.
This could be a self-publishedpaperback, an ebook, or even an
audio book online course.
A deep dive into your message Inbite-size lessons, they will
guide people through yourframework, step by step
workshops, virtual or in person.
They let participants interactwith your message.

your content.

engagements, keynote talks orseminars that allow you to
spread your message on a largerstage, one-on-one coaching a

The hub and spoke model isbrilliant.
Every spoke feeds back into thehub.
This reinforces your coremessage and ensures consistency
across platforms.

(09:04):
You're not creating newmessages, you're repurposing the
same message in multiple ways.
Why the hub and spoke modelworks?
The model works because itcreates multiple entry points
for your audience.
Not everyone will come to youthrough the same path, and not
everyone consumes content in thesame way.
Someone might discover youthrough your book, but another

(09:24):
person may prefer the immersiveexperience of an online course.
A third person could encounteryour message at a keynote talk
and later become a client foryour high-end coaching program.
By offering your message indifferent formats, you give your
audience options.
More importantly, you createmultiple streams of income so
you are not relying on oneproduct to succeed.

(09:47):
Each spoke supports the hub andreinforces the others.
Creating a steady andsustainable flow of revenue,
adapting the blueprint to yourbusiness.
The hub and spoke model isadaptable to any business or
platform.
It doesn't matter whether you'rea writer, coach, speaker, or
teacher.
This framework can scale yourmessage into multiple streams of

(10:08):

core message to a wideraudience.

courses or coaching courses fora structured step-by-step

(10:30):
approach and online course isbest.
It offers a more in-depthlearning experience.
You can charge more for thiskind of focused guidance
membership sites.
A subscription model keeps youraudience engaged long term.
It offers them ongoing access tonew content, resources, or live
coaching.

once.
Start with one or two and buildfrom there.
Step four, take action.
Now that you have your coremessage, your list of potential
income streams.
And a timeline for launchingthem, it's time to take action.

(14:50):
Your goal for this week is tocomplete the first step toward
creating your initial incomestream.
