Joining me on the telephone this morning is our Mayor
Shane Pitt.

a look at your council meeting which is coming up
next week, is it it is?

Yes, Tuesday, the twenty third of July, five pm and
of course open to the public, as we always talk about, Scervo.
Would be good to see members of the public come
along to the meeting, So yeah, please come along if
you've got three time on Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Evening, absolutely all right.

Also reminded to about the next meet and greet session
with the general manager at this time at Granville Harbor.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Yes, Greenville Harbor, Thursday, twenty fifth, fifth of July, from
two pm to three point thirty pm at eight sixty
eight Grenville Harbor, Rawting Grenville Harbor. So an opportunity need
for people down there at Granville Harbor to meet the
new general manager, Kira Spencer, so here has been around
most of our community now and Greville Harbor's the last

one on the list, so you know, it's great to
see that she's out and about and meeting meeting up
with our residents.

Also, of course have your say designation of smoke vake
free areas. Were really wanting people to have their say

Yes, mate, that closes today that consultation period, so please
you've got to a five pm today to put any
suggestions Ford that you'd like to put forward, both for
or against our smoke and vape free environments and our
main business business areas in our town. So please have

It certainly is all right. And moving on West Jo's
community volunteer strategy. As I've said before, I think this
is very exciting.

It is exciting and it's an opportunity for anyone who
would like to participate in driving the West Coast community
Volunteer strategy which we've been put together over the last
twelve months, and the opportunity for people there now to
move that strategy forward. So if anyone is interested, please
contact our Growth and Change team there in the office

will be able to assist in setting up the first meeting.

Alrighty well, dog registrations are on the agenda. Again, this
is a constant reminder.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
It is a constant reminder, mate. Just the twenty twenty
four dog registration renewals will be issued in the coming month,
so if your details have changed, please contact council so
that we can make sure that the information is up
to date and we do get the registrations out to
the right the right address.

Okay. And also food license renewal reminder.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Yeah, so again, please be advised that if you're a
food business and you've not renewed your food license for
twenty four to twenty five season, the food license have
now expired, so submit your renewal as so as soon
as possible, as infringements may be issued that do not

if you don't have hard a valid food license. So yeah,
opportunity their last opportunity, I guess for those business to
make sure they've got their licenses all in hand.

Okay. And finally, a position's vacant.

closes at five pm Friday, twenty sixth of July, and

All right, well, you and I and other people attended
to function on Wednesday at the Unconformity, honoring the outgoing
artistic director Travis Titty, of course, and the new CEO
that's come on board, Louisa, who has a wealth of experience.

She has mate yes and no. I guess it's an
opportunity for us also to thank Travis for the amount
of work that he's done over the years with the
Young Conformity and then before that Queensley and Arts and
Heritage Festival and then also Project Queenstown back in the
early days. So he was got along for the whole

ride with Travis and has been a you know, he's
put a mountain of work into that organization. He's heading
into new directions in his life. And you know, as
he mentioned during that during his speech there on Wednesday evening,
he's had children born since he's been in that room.

It's been significant time taken out of his life to
run that organization. And it's great and it's certainly put
the Young Conformity and also the West Coast on the
the International Arts Festival arena. So great work there. And
as you mentioned, Louisa's on board now and you know,

(05:51):
I think she's certainly got a wealth of knowledge and
we look forward to working with her in the.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Future, certainly do all right, Well, that is it for today.

announcements lately in the media around active grant funding that
I received. I'll get some more information on that for
next for next weeks, but you know, it is exciting
that we're being able to get some of that grant
funding coming away down here in the West Coast. For

ye what we'll see some you know, some very worthwhile
projects that we've applied for over a little while now
and some of it's starting to come through, which is
great to see.
