coming through the door, doctor miss jaw, miss yare.

Speaker 10 (24:17):
Well, it's time to go ahead and bring on my
first guests. My first guest is a songwriter, a vocal coach,
and a gospel recording artist. You've also seen him as
a finalist in the McDonald's Gospel Fest. I want you
all to welcome Bronx's own Christopher Sims.

Speaker 21 (24:42):
Hey, hey, doctor miss Jones.

Speaker 10 (24:46):
Let's going on. I'm good. How you doing, I'm.

Speaker 21 (24:50):
Doing bro blessing, I'm highly flavored, I'm chocolate today.

Speaker 10 (24:53):
Oh you highly flavored?

Speaker 6 (24:54):
Okay, now, okay, chocolate.

Speaker 10 (24:58):
Well, I want to thank you so much for coming on.
I always like to tell everybody where I meet my guest.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
So I met you.

Speaker 10 (25:04):
I believe it was December. We were both at the
New York Gospel Alliance Christmas Industry mixer. I did some comedy.
We finally met. We had talked I think ahead of time.
I think we talked ahead of time, but we finally
met that night, right, okay, okay, so yes, So it
is a pleasure to have you on. I could be here,

(25:27):
so tell us a little bit about your musical journey.

Speaker 21 (25:32):
So I'm a pastors kid.

Speaker 10 (25:34):
Okay.

Speaker 34 (25:38):
You know, when you're a pastors kid, you gotta learn
how to do something, yes, right, play an instrument, you
gotta learn how to sing.

Speaker 21 (25:45):
You gotta learn how to change the light bulb. You
got to you gotta do.

Speaker 10 (25:49):
Something that's right.

Speaker 34 (25:52):
So I started out, you know, my pretty much my
whole family there musically inclined. And I started out playing
the drum because of my brother, he was the drummer
for the church. And you know, I started playing the drums,
started playing percussion, and then one day in rehearsal, my
oldest sister pulls my off for the drums and say, here,

(26:15):
you're going to sing this song.

Speaker 21 (26:18):
It was a chium peky song and it was the
first time that I had sing and I guess maybe.

Speaker 34 (26:24):
She heard me singing at home or something and made
the decision that, you know, she's going to have me
sing that song.

Speaker 21 (26:31):
And I did it. And that was kind of like
when I discovered that, hey, I can do as I
can sing, you know, and maybe this is something that
I need to explore for you know.

Speaker 34 (26:42):
From there, I joined several groups, you know, inquirers in
the church, my cousins and some of the family members.

Speaker 21 (26:51):
We started an all male group called Sons of God.

Speaker 34 (26:56):
Yeah, and so we we and it was in that
group where we started writing our own original material. So
that's where I started to hone that gift. And then
from there I had the pleasure of joining other groups
like Arise, another all male group that just you know
that that through that group, I was introduced to other

(27:17):
industry leaders and that this just helped to cultivate my
skills and my gifts even further. And you know, from
there I stepped out and started doing my own original
material and becoming an independent artist on my.

Speaker 21 (27:32):
Own hand, so solo art and you know, doing praising worship.

Speaker 37 (27:36):
Being a worship leader has also helped with that, you know,
help out several churches with their worship teams and so
it's just been an incredible journey and I'm.

Speaker 21 (27:46):
Just grateful that God has trusted me with this gift
and this assignment.

Speaker 10 (27:51):
I love it.

Speaker 38 (27:52):
You know.

Speaker 10 (27:52):
It kind of reminds me of Joshua Rogers because he
started out playing the drums as well. You know, he
was on the winner of BT's Best. He started off
behind the drums and then he started singing and the
boy can blow. So you have a similar journey. So
all right, so let's go ahead and play one of

(28:13):
your songs. So this one is called I'm Good and
it features friend to the show, DJ Nicholas and Rocks MC.
So we know DJ Nicholas, he came on the show
before We love him. So how did you link up
with him?

Speaker 23 (28:31):
Oh?

Speaker 34 (28:31):
Man, So I ain't had a song another single. I
believe you're gonna play it later. That's really waiting. And
the song was becoming so popular. I said, man, we
need us talking to my team and I said we
need to work on a remix for the song. Oh,
and I said, you know, I wanted to be like
a Caribbean flair. I said, who could we get that

(28:53):
that could like that can compliment the song. And we
just went through a list of different artists and DJ
Nicholas was the one that stood out the most, and
so I reached out to his team and I and
I told him the idea and they were on board.
And when he heard Desperately Waiting, DJ Nicholas said, Chris,

(29:13):
he said, the song is so good by itself.

Speaker 21 (29:16):
He said, I don't want to touch it. Let's work
on something else. And I was like, oh wow, okay.
It was a huge compliment, and.

Speaker 34 (29:25):
So we worked on I had another song that was
already in process. I said, what do you think about
this one? He said, that's great, that's a good one.
And so that's that's how it is. And then we
flew my team and I we flew to Miami and
we shot the music video for I'm Good Yeah, and
it was it was great.

Speaker 21 (29:45):
It was great. J Nicholas is awesome.

Speaker 10 (29:47):
People now tell me about bronx MC.

Speaker 6 (29:50):
I never heard of.

Speaker 34 (29:51):
Yeah, bronx MC is obviously you could tell that he's
from the Bronx. He's awesome, awesome individual, awesome artists. Uh,
and he's so gifted in so many areas. One of
the things I called my videography team, I call them
the Avengers of videography because they're so awesome and they

(30:14):
work together and and uh, he's he's a part of
that team. And uh, you know, when I told him
the idea about working with DJ Nicholas, he said.

Speaker 21 (30:23):
Let me get on that.

Speaker 34 (30:24):
I said, okay, should be some some some ideas that
you have, uh, and and he did. He sent me
some of the concepts that he had, and I said,
this is really awesome. Yeah, you're going to be on
the track for sure. And that's how Yeah, that's how
it happened.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
Yeah, okay, I love it.

Speaker 10 (30:42):
So let's go ahead and play it. It's I'm Good
featuring DJ Nicholas and Broncks MC Don't go Anywhere. Y'all
were hanging out with Christopher Simms right here on the
Me and Miss Jones Show with Me Doctor Miss Jones.

Speaker 32 (31:00):

(38:00):
given me life, you know, being a seven time heart
attack survivor seven time to take every chance and every
opportunity to give God thinks.

Speaker 21 (38:10):

Speaker 10 (39:02):
Yes, bless a brother for his birthday. Yes, I love it.
So now you said you are a seven time heart
attack survivor seven times.

Speaker 21 (39:10):
Yes, heir seven times seven times?

Speaker 10 (39:12):
Oh that is I never even heard. And you're young, yes, yes,
you're young.

Speaker 34 (39:19):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (39:20):
God is a healer. Amen that that is truly a healer. Yes.

Speaker 6 (39:24):
Yes.

Speaker 34 (39:25):
When the first heart attack happened in twenty thirteen, you
know I was, I was at work as a pest
control technician service in the hotel in downtown New York,
and I just felt really weird, really heavy, and I
was sweating a lot. Didn't know what was going on,
decided to leave work early. I got home, I told

(39:48):
my wife, I don't feel good. I lay down on
the floor and I passed out.

Speaker 6 (39:51):
Wow.

Speaker 19 (39:52):
Long story short.

Speaker 21 (39:53):
When I came to a couple of days later.

Speaker 19 (39:56):
Wow.

Speaker 34 (39:57):
So this was a Friday, and I didn't get to
the hospital until Sunday. And when I got to the hospital,
I was in so much pain that I couldn't even move.
Every movement breathing hurt, and I just laid down on
the hospital floor. My wife was nine months pregnant, running
to go get help and she comes back with a

(40:19):
security guard.

Speaker 21 (40:20):
He lifts me up, puts me in a wheelchair. They
rolled me in.

Speaker 34 (40:22):
They said, mister Simms, you've been having a heart attack
for several days. What.

Speaker 21 (40:28):
Yeah, They said, the three major arteries to your heart
have blockages.

Speaker 34 (40:32):
One that has a bunch of different blockages. One is
sixty percent blocked, and the other one was one hundred
percent blocked. They said, anything that we do, they're afraid
to do anything because anything that they thought of that
they could have done would damage my heart. And so
they were afraid to do anything. And so it was

(40:52):
at that point we knew the only thing that we
could rely on is God power, prayer and thank God
that was in tooth. I was in the thirteen where
the first one happened.

Speaker 19 (41:02):
And yeah, I had a few others, you know, but
God has.

Speaker 34 (41:05):
Been a keeper and God and every single time God
kept reminding me, he said, hey, it's not over.

Speaker 21 (41:12):
I have purpose for you. You have work to do.

Speaker 34 (41:15):
And that was the thing that gave me confidence that
I was going to be okay in that very in
those very very scary situations where the enemy is in
the other air saying you're done, God is in my
other air saying it's not over. So I and that's
why I take advantage to the fact that I have
breath in my body and I love the song that

(41:37):
says it's your breath and my lung.

Speaker 21 (41:39):
So I call up my praise.

Speaker 34 (41:40):
Yeah it's not my breath, it's not my life. I
don't get to live it how I want to. God
is the is the orchestrator of my life. Come on,
and so I have to live life according to how
He expects me to. I have to fulfill the purpose
that He has called me to here on earth. No
matter what I feel or think about it. I don't

(42:02):
get the privilege. I don't get the privilege to say no.

Speaker 10 (42:06):
You were home for those days. I mean, did your
wife think you were sleep?

Speaker 34 (42:13):
I mean.

Speaker 10 (42:15):
You fell out and then that was a Friday and
you went to the hospital Sunday. She thought she was
just sleep or something. I mean, what was she doing?

Speaker 34 (42:25):
It was very it was a very scary situation because
we didn't really know what was going on. And again,
you know, I'm so young. Nobody's thinking heart issues, right,
even though there's a history of heart disease in my family,
you weren't thinking heart issues. That Friday evening, we had
some friends come over. You might know him to meeting

(42:47):
Chris Williams m He and his wife were over at
our house that evening and the whole time everybody's sitting
at the table having fun. I'm bent over with the
chair just on my knees, hovering over the chair because
I'm in so much pain, and they're like you.

Speaker 6 (43:08):
Okay, dude.

Speaker 21 (43:08):
I'm like, yeah, yeah, I'm fine.

Speaker 34 (43:10):
It's just gas, you know, you know, you know, popping zantacs,
trying to relieve, you know, the some things, but nothing's working.
That was the Friday Saturday. One of our good friends
had a baby shower. I went to the baby shower,
but the whole time I could not enjoy myself because
again I was in so much pain. And then the

(43:33):
most frightening part of it is when the baby shower
was over, my daughter and my son they were being
potty trained, and my daughter, when we got her into
the car, she was like, Daddy, I got to use
the bathroom, and I was like, oh boy, and you
know that's my baby.

Speaker 19 (43:50):
Girls.

Speaker 21 (43:50):
I gotta trust in anybody else to take her to
the bathroom.

Speaker 34 (43:52):
So I had to take her myself, and the whole
time I'm in the bathroom with her, I'm just praying.
I'm like, God, please don't let me pass on in
front of her, because she's going to be scared. She's
not going to know what to do, and nobody else
is here, so please don't let me pass out.

Speaker 21 (44:06):
And thank god I didn't.

Speaker 34 (44:09):
But it was at that moment when I got home,
I told my wife, I said, let's make arrangements for
somebody to watch the kids, because I think you're going
to have to take me to the hospital in the morning.

Speaker 21 (44:19):
And sure enough, when I look up that morning, I said.

Speaker 12 (44:21):
Yeah, it's time.

Speaker 21 (44:22):
It's time to take me to the hospital.

Speaker 10 (44:23):
Now wow, wow, Well I'm glad that you're doing better.

Speaker 21 (44:29):
Yeah, thank god.

Speaker 10 (44:30):
Yes, So you're also a vocal coaches, so you have
your own company, Worship Works LLC, and you give lessons.
So give us a few tips because you know we
need our voice. You know, you have a lot of
people that talk for living or seeing. What are some
things that we need to do to keep our vocal

(44:53):
chords in shape?

Speaker 21 (44:55):
Of course? Yeah sure.

Speaker 41 (44:56):
Well, first of all, Worship Works LLC is a music
consultancy and training company and we are dedicated to helping churches, pastors, choirs, worship.

Speaker 34 (45:08):
Teams and individuals enhance their vocal abilities and their overall
worship experience. And one of the main things that I
focus on, especially we as as black singers growing up
in church, you know how we belt and everything.

Speaker 21 (45:26):
I teach people how to protect their voice. And one
of the main areas that I focus on is proper breathing.

Speaker 19 (45:35):
So if you don't have proper.

Speaker 34 (45:36):
Breathing techniques, it's going to be very difficult for you
to sustain your vocal health.

Speaker 21 (45:43):
So proper breathing is essential.

Speaker 34 (45:45):
To maintaining that vocal health and hitting those notes that
you want to hit and that consistency with your notes.
And so I spend a lot of time with my
students on teaching them vocal breathing techniques. So that's why
I spend a lot of a lot of time talking

(46:06):
to my students about.

Speaker 10 (46:07):
Okay, so breathing techniques. So this will help a preacher
as well, because you know some preachers hoop and stuff.
Is that because of not breathing properly or yeah.

Speaker 21 (46:19):
Yeah, definitely. You know, your your your voice.

Speaker 34 (46:23):
Is an instrument, and if you don't tune it right,
if you don't stretch it right, if you don't you know,
if you're not using it correctly, then you're abusing it.
And so you know, that's why a lot of us
experience harshness because again, you're straining our vocal cords. And
you know, if you're pushing from your belly, you're pushing
from your chest. You know you're not You're causing more

(46:47):
damage than you're doing good.

Speaker 21 (46:48):
You know, so you got to protect got to protect
your voice by proper breathing. That that air is helpful
in protecting those vocal cords.

Speaker 10 (46:58):
Okay, you should diaphragm. That's what I remember your diaphragm
push from your diaphragm. Yes, so you also have a
T shirt business with Faith Designs. Yes, what's the name
of your T shirt company?

Speaker 34 (47:18):
So?

Speaker 21 (47:18):
Yeah, there was a day I was on the train,
you know, in New York City, and I was just
having a bad day, and.

Speaker 34 (47:29):
And I caught a glimpse of myself in the reflection
of the window, and I saw the look on my
face and like and how discouraged I look. And what
was funny was that I had a friend, a pastor,
pastor Matthew Greaves in Yonkers, New York. He had given

(47:52):
me a T shirt a hoodie and the hoodie said
this is what faith looks like. And I looked at
my face and I said, wait a minute, this is
what I'm showing people, and.

Speaker 38 (48:06):
This is.

Speaker 21 (48:08):
What I'm wearing, and I'm broadcasting that this is what
faith looks like. And I'm looking like this. And so.

Speaker 34 (48:16):
It's not that we as believers we don't go through things,
but we have to shift our perspective sometimes. And God
doesn't always change the circumstances, but he can change our
perspectives sometimes of the circumstance. And that's what I have
to really focus on. I have to start seeing things
how God is seeing it. And despite the fact that,

(48:38):
again Jesus was very clear. He said, in this world
you will have trouble, he said, don't be deceived. In
this world you will have trouble, he said, But fret not,
for I have overcome them all. So just seeing my
face and realizing that I'm wearing this those world pretty
much and I'm displaying this for the world to see

(49:01):
that started get that started getting me thinking like, Okay,
what other positive messages that I can use to.

Speaker 21 (49:07):
Encourage myself and encourage others that may see me walking
around with this shirt on or with this school on.
And so that's where the idea came from from me, uh,
you know, started working on my own.

Speaker 34 (49:19):
T shirt designs with positive affirmations and just encouraging myself
and encouraging other people, just sending reminders to myself that hey, listen,
things are not great, but God is still awesome.

Speaker 21 (49:33):
God is still good, you know. Yeah, And so yeah,
so that's that's where the idea came from. And so
everybody can go and support me and purchase my T shirts.

Speaker 34 (49:45):
You can look me up on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and
you can find all of my information there.

Speaker 10 (49:52):
What are your handles on those social media yes.

Speaker 21 (49:56):
Of course.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
Uh.

Speaker 34 (49:58):
I am on Instagram you can find me at I
Am Christopher Simms. On Facebook you can find me at
Christopher Simms. And on TikTok you can find me at
I Am Christopher Simms forty four.

Speaker 10 (50:13):
All right, dope. So Bishop Banks is in the chat
On clubhouse. He wants to have you on our TV
show Praise through the Night. We shoot every month and
we love to have you come on. I'm the host
and always. All right, so we gonna hook that up. Awesome, excellent,

(50:34):
all right, let's go ahead and line up your next song,
Desperately waiting feature in Marcus Aaron, I know you kind
of lined it up for us a little bit. You
wanted to get DJ Nicholas on it, and he said
it's already good. So tell us a little bit about
the song and tell us who Marcus Aaron is, Oh, yes.

Speaker 34 (50:52):
Sir, uh So again, I'm a worship leader, and so
I wrote this song from the perspective of a worship leader,
and there is this moment before I go up to
lead worship.

Speaker 21 (51:04):
Oftentimes as worship leaders. We really don't want to be
up there on stage that start, what people might think,
but we know that we're called to it. And there's
this moment where I am praying and I'm telling God.

Speaker 34 (51:21):
I said, God, I'm about to go up on this
stage and I'm about to lead people in the worship.

Speaker 21 (51:25):
And I said, I don't really have anything to offer them.

Speaker 34 (51:29):
I said, you know nothing that There's nothing I can
give them that's going to change or alter their life
in any way, shape or form. Anything that's going to
shape change their lives in any way, shape or form
is only going to come from you, God, I said, So, God,
we will desperately wait on you. Wow, we were desperately
wait until you are here, because if you're not here, we're.

Speaker 21 (51:51):
Just having church and we're not having change. And that
is the Bible is clear about.

Speaker 34 (51:58):
Transformation, that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Speaker 21 (52:03):
And if God, if you're not here, Jesus, if you're
not here, then what are we doing?

Speaker 34 (52:09):
So God, we really need you, and we would desperately
wait on you. So that's where the that's where the
song kind of was birth from. And as time went on,
people started to hear the song. That started giving me
their testimonies about how they've been desperately waiting on our
financial blessings, how they've been desperately waiting for change.

Speaker 21 (52:27):
And their relationships and their marriages, with their children and
their jobs. And so they began to share that.

Speaker 34 (52:33):
I was like, Wow, this is more than this has
become more than what I wrote it for, you know,
And so you know, I was like, God, thank God,
thank you God for trusting me with this, and you know,
and I reached out to one of.

Speaker 21 (52:49):
My favorite rappers, Marcus Aaron passed. He was a phenomenal artist.
I heard some of his songs. I was like, man,
I got to get this guy on the track. Right
out of Brooklyn, New York. I hit him up.

Speaker 34 (53:05):
He actually used to be a part of the he
actually was was he started a group called True Praise,
and I just loved him from then, left his writing,
loved what he did, left his energy.

Speaker 21 (53:15):
And I reached out to him and he was on
board with the with the song. And he said to me,
he said, Chris, he said, people send me a lot.

Speaker 34 (53:21):
Of songs, he said, and I have to turn them down,
he said, but there's something about this song, he said,
he said, and I agreed to be on it with
and I was like, okay, awesome, And so that's how
that happened.

Speaker 23 (53:33):
Man.

Speaker 10 (53:34):
Yeah, all right, well we're gonna go ahead and play it,
and I truly appreciate you coming on. We're gonna hook
up the Praise through the Night interview and you know,
maybe a sister can DJ your birthday party, you know
all that stuff. We're gonna come to work together. We're
both part of the Gospel Alliance.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
So you know what he did.

Speaker 10 (53:52):
We hooked up at the him anyway, So thank you
so much for coming on. I really appreciate it.

Speaker 21 (54:01):
Thank you, miss doctor Miss Jones. Love you, Thank you.

Speaker 10 (54:03):

Cops Roger doctor ten four saw tem verse four the
wick of the too proud to seek God.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
So a wise man know that he really need God.

Speaker 33 (57:27):
Look, you can see God.

Speaker 44 (57:29):
Without your love, I don't know where I will be God.
Oh I need to bright a day. Take the clouds away,
take the rein away, Take the pain away. You're a
shepherd from the Psalms. Let me in Travis Greenfashions and
I'm gonna sing you made away. Until then, I just
patiently wait, stand fast, never wait, but the faith.

Speaker 33 (57:45):
Like when the doctor is usit, you just patiently wait.

Speaker 1 (57:47):
Good doctor. My patience is great.

Speaker 6 (57:51):
On you, on you, on you.

Speaker 10 (58:30):
Welcome back. You tuned into the Me and Miss Jones Show.
I'm still your host, doctor Miss Jones, and it is
time to bring on my next guests. She is a chef,
a baker, and an urban gardener. I want you all
to welcome Harlem's own chef lee.

Speaker 38 (58:51):
Hey, hey, how are you nice to hear from you
and be here.

Speaker 10 (58:58):
Yes, I'm so glad that you're on the show. Thank
you so much for coming on today.

Speaker 38 (59:03):
Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 10 (59:05):
Of course, so I always like to tell everybody where
I meet my guests. So I met you. You came
out and supported me at the comedy trivia and Bingo
show I hosted at Comedy in Harlem. So thank you
so much for that. I appreciate the support.

Speaker 45 (59:22):
That was such a wonderful event. It was during Black
History months. We had some great musical trivia I had
you pointing over my side, like, look at these answers
over here.

Speaker 1 (59:35):
It was so fun.

Speaker 10 (59:36):
We had a good time. So then you were just
telling me everything that you do, and I was like, oh,
you need to come on the show. So thanks again
for coming on.

Speaker 38 (59:44):
Yes, thank you.

Speaker 10 (59:45):
So tell us a little bit about your journey to
becoming a chef and baker. I mean, when you grow up,
did you have an easy bake oven?

Speaker 45 (59:53):
How did you get I was able to go to
the public schools in Heart public school's in Harlem at
the time, in the late seventies early eighties, they still
had stuff.

Speaker 38 (01:00:05):
In school like cooking and things like that.

Speaker 45 (01:00:07):
And I had a wonderful math lab teacher and a
wonderful fifth and sixth grade teacher that kind of gave
me the cooking bug and teaching me through math and science.
And I just got caught up in cookbooks and read
every cookbook I could, and then I just started cooking
and my mom was like, okay, and from then on.
I remember writing a poem book in the sixth grade

(01:00:30):
and I said that I would be a chef.

Speaker 38 (01:00:32):
So I knew it since I was a little girl.

Speaker 10 (01:00:35):
Wow, I love that. I love it when kids know
what they want to do, like you kind of have
an idea like well I might do this, I might
do that. But like when you know, that's so amazing
because you can put your energy into that.

Speaker 34 (01:00:46):
You know.

Speaker 10 (01:00:47):
So that's beautiful thing. And so now you teach kids
and adults.

Speaker 23 (01:00:51):
I do.

Speaker 38 (01:00:51):
I teach children.

Speaker 45 (01:00:53):
I even taught my daughter, my middle daughter, she was
a contestant on Chop Junior and you know, you know
she I won't tell you what happened was a long
time ago, but you definitely should watch that episode.

Speaker 10 (01:01:05):
Okay, all right, episode episode nine?

Speaker 15 (01:01:11):
Got it?

Speaker 10 (01:01:11):
I love that. I mean, that's amazing.

Speaker 45 (01:01:16):
Because I love to cook and teach children. It just
kind of comes naturally to me. And even even all
of my kids know how to cook. I teach children
in schools. So right now, the company that I'm with
Keys to Abundant Life, that's what we do. We bring
healthy cooking and opportunities for children to eat healthy meals
and find out how they can incorporate those meals at.

Speaker 38 (01:01:38):
Home with their parents.

Speaker 10 (01:01:39):
That's beautiful. So there's a lot of people out here
that don't cook, they can't cook, or they don't have
time to cook. So what is something easy that they
can do and quick that they won't mess up. What's
what's one quick recipe that you can give the people.

Speaker 38 (01:01:55):
My go to is pasta. I think that it's it's
very easy.

Speaker 45 (01:02:00):
Eight to ten minutes boiling hot water, jump it out,
make an easy sauce with butter, garlic, a little bit
of part of parsley, and some parmesan cheese and there
you go. You gotta have a little sauce. You can
open a jarred sauce and make it easy. And if
you don't want to do that, you can just cut
up some tomatoes in it and there you have an
easy sauce.

Speaker 10 (01:02:21):
Okay, so you can't mess everybody can do that. You
can't mess it up.

Speaker 38 (01:02:26):
That you can't.

Speaker 10 (01:02:27):
I mean I guess you could. I guess you could,
oh well, cook it, but follow directions eight to ten minutes.
Don't keep opening the list.

Speaker 6 (01:02:38):
Right right.

Speaker 45 (01:02:38):
I always tell the kids, you know, a watch pot never,
you know, takes forever to boil.

Speaker 38 (01:02:42):
So you got it, let it go through, keep an
eye on it, and there you go.

Speaker 10 (01:02:46):
Now, what about putting a little bit of oil in
the pot so that.

Speaker 45 (01:02:49):
Yes, yes, I always tell people you never need oil
and everybody's like, what, what, No, never put oil in
your pasta water. That's just something you know, chef say,
It's just something that we don't do because it doesn't
let the sauce stick to the pasta. So your sauce
is what makes the pasta come alive. And once you

(01:03:10):
mix the two together, it's perfect. Some people like to
keep their pasta separated from their sauce, but I always say,
make it happy.

Speaker 38 (01:03:17):
Mix the sauce and the pasta together. Therefore you do
not need that extra oil.

Speaker 10 (01:03:21):
Oh, keep it healthy, Okay, got.

Speaker 36 (01:03:24):
It all right.

Speaker 10 (01:03:25):
So you have a cookbook that's coming out this year,
so tell us about that.

Speaker 45 (01:03:32):
That cookbook is going to be. It's going to comprise
a lot of things that I've done over the years.
A lot of people know that my family's from the South.
I'm a Harlem, a New Yorker born and raised, and
you know, the stuff that we eat, the stuff that
I grew up with culturally, the stuff from the diaspora.

(01:03:53):
I grew up in a neighborhood where every nationality was represented,
so I kind of cooked that way too.

Speaker 38 (01:04:00):
Everybody asked, do you have a special thing that you like, Yes,
you know, I was thinking everything. So in this cookbook.

Speaker 45 (01:04:06):
Yeah, and this cookbook you'll see everything from keelth and wellness.

Speaker 10 (01:04:09):
Are you doing this independently or you have a publisher.

Speaker 45 (01:04:14):
I'm going to be doing it independently. I mean, if
there's somebody out there that wants to do that, that
would be awesome. I'm open to anything, but at this time,
I'm you know, I'm doing your independently.

Speaker 10 (01:04:24):
Okay. So now you say your you your roots are
from the South, so you good with the soul food
I do.

Speaker 38 (01:04:30):
I do soul food. You know, your macaroni and cheese,
your ribs, your you know. I eat everything.

Speaker 45 (01:04:36):
I always tell people I eat everything. I love to
eat healthy, but I eat everything. I don't, you know,
I don't leave anything out.

Speaker 10 (01:04:43):
Okay. You have designed and developed a student garden in Brooklyn,
so tell us about that.

Speaker 38 (01:04:51):
Okay.

Speaker 45 (01:04:52):
Well, I started gardening when I noticed that there was
a lot of these garden things pop up all over Harlem,
and these empty spaces were inviting Harlem residents to come
out and grow things.

Speaker 38 (01:05:07):
And I said I could do this.

Speaker 45 (01:05:08):
I mean, I was actually pregnant with my third child
at the time, and I had a big old belly,
yet I was, you know, in the dirt gardening, and
everybody kind of laughed at me. But now sixteen years later,
gardening is this thing that everybody is trying to be
a part of. And you know, I started out doing
it many years ago, and I've been growing food in
Harlem for you know, several years. And like I said,

(01:05:30):
shout out to the different gardens that I work with,
because they do marvelous work. They hold different events for
the community, for children, They grow produce and food for
the community. And it's just I tell anybody, if you
can be part of a garden, a garden association, if
you can just grow food on your own backyard in

(01:05:50):
your window still, just do it.

Speaker 38 (01:05:53):
Start out, start out small, you can do it.

Speaker 10 (01:05:55):
So how hard is it to plant a garden in
the inner city, Well.

Speaker 45 (01:06:02):
I think anybody can start one. If you have a,
like I said, a windowsill, you can grow herbs. If
you are outside and you actually have a little bit
more space, you can grow things that are a little
bit larger, like lettuce and cucumbers and tomatoes. I always
tell people to just try and see how the first
year works out or the first you know, if it

(01:06:22):
doesn't work out that great.

Speaker 38 (01:06:23):
Try again, not hard at all.

Speaker 10 (01:06:27):
So you also have catered on a movie set and
that kind of led you to an opportunity to do
some acting.

Speaker 45 (01:06:34):
So tell us I've been fortunate enough to have opportunities
to work on different films, and I've also worked in
the theater. And when I did a film called Martha's
Vose that's coming out this year, shout out to the director.

Speaker 38 (01:06:51):
And the producer, Brian McInnis.

Speaker 45 (01:06:53):
He is an amazing person to work with and for this,
I had the opportunity to to do the catering on
the set, also being an actress too, so I had
an acting role and then I had the catering role
where I made sure I fed everybody on set and
that was a wonderful experience.

Speaker 10 (01:07:11):
That's dope, all right. I want to give you a
chance to talk to your double Dutch beef a girl.
Tell us about the double dutch in and get you
a give a shout out to your pumples. I know
they're listening to Hey, y'all, all right, tell everybody about
your double dutching, girl, Tell everybody about about your double dutching,

Speaker 45 (01:07:30):
Oh wow, Well, I started double dutching right before I turned.

Speaker 38 (01:07:35):
I won't say that age, but it's everybody's overfore I
speak that way.

Speaker 45 (01:07:39):
Everybody there is there is And the cool thing about
it is you don't even know how to have to
know how to jump, but if you're encouraged, you can jump.

Speaker 38 (01:07:49):
And if you already know how to jump, we love
that too. So I just started jumping, and I wonderful group.

Speaker 45 (01:07:55):
Of ladies and only you know, the ladies are involved,
and you know you can come out if you want
to and and and jump with them all there's all
over the country.

Speaker 10 (01:08:08):

Speaker 1 (01:08:12):

Speaker 10 (01:08:12):
I grew up double dutch and we all summer long

So that's that's.

Speaker 38 (01:08:18):
It's a great form of exercise. You today need to
know how to do it.

Speaker 10 (01:08:22):
They don't know how to do it, you know.

Speaker 38 (01:08:25):
Then they can get forty like us and forty and.

Speaker 10 (01:08:28):
They do not not They don't even want to go outside.
They want to be on video games all day.

Speaker 45 (01:08:32):
All they do a different time now, learn how to
cook on on you know, on the videos and that's
how I learned how to, you know, pay attention to
cooking through my shows that I watched on PBS. Remember
PPS back in the day, Yes, ORBS still exists. You know,

(01:08:52):
we only had a channel thirteen thirteen thirteen at thirteen yup.

Speaker 10 (01:09:01):
Yes, Now what's your double dutch? Do y'all do tricks
and stuff?

Speaker 46 (01:09:05):
Well?

Speaker 38 (01:09:06):
Yes, some of the ladies.

Speaker 45 (01:09:07):
I mean, I'm not that good as some of the
other ladies, but yes, they do tricks. Okay, you know
they do showcases events.

Speaker 38 (01:09:16):
Yeah, you check them out on the internet. They do
a lot.

Speaker 10 (01:09:19):

Speaker 38 (01:09:27):
So I have to get my parlor ladies together.

Speaker 45 (01:09:30):
Yeah, founder Pamela and the other founder and Katrina and
see if that's something they want to do.

Speaker 38 (01:09:38):
They, Yeah, come on out to New York City and
jump for it.

Speaker 10 (01:09:41):
That's right.

Speaker 38 (01:09:41):
I feel right in the Bronx.

Speaker 10 (01:09:43):

I don't.

Speaker 45 (01:10:01):
I grew up with double dutch and I have some
beautiful friends who were double Dutch dynamos back in the days,
and there's videos out on them as well. And double
dutch is not new, you know, We've been doing it
for a long time and they definitely should add it
as an Olympic sport.

Speaker 38 (01:10:17):

Speaker 48 (01:14:44):
Come men your medicion to take no man left your canselweight.
Come men, your medicion to take no man left your canselweight.

Speaker 10 (01:15:14):
All right, it's time to spill some tea. Go ahead
and get your teacups ready. It is time for the
Holy tea. So Rick Ross is opening up his own
dental practice. He already opened it up. Actually he's not
a dentist, but it's with a dentist who did his veneers,
doctor Mario Montoya, and it is in the Atlanta area,

(01:15:38):
in the town of Sandy Springs, Georgia. So their model
is come get your billion dollar smile.

Speaker 34 (01:15:45):
You know.

Speaker 10 (01:15:45):
Doctor Montoya has clients like Tea Paine, Safari, Ari Fletcher,
and money Bag Yo. So they have cosmetic dentistry, but
they also offer root canals, They do gumblee and gum contouring.
I didn't even know that was a thing. I'm like,
you people get their gums bleaching. Yes, y'all, they're getting

(01:16:06):
the gums bleached. They also offered permanent implants. They start
at as little as four four hundred dollars and porcelain veneers.
That's a new thing, y'all. One of my family members
got some veneers. I was like, dang, your teeth look good.
You've been whiten it what you're doing. He's like, I
got veneers. So people been getting veniers, y'all. They start

(01:16:28):
at twenty five thousand dollars and take six hours to do.
But yes, if you see people with some perfect teeth,
they got some venias, y'all. So Rick Arov said that
his teeth were almost brown from smoking, and that this
dentist is the best. He out here doing this thing, y'all.
He got you know, wingstop, he got real estate spirits,

(01:16:50):
you know. So here out here doing this thing. He
broadening up his portfolio. What y'all think about this? I mean,
I know it's hard to find a good dentist. So man,
I hope he op up a branch right here in
New York. I'm just saying, well, Othello is now on Broadway.
That's right. Guess how much the tickets are, y'all. They

(01:17:11):
are between seven hundred dollars and twenty two hundred dollars.
You gonna have to pay your mortgage, y'all. Mortgage note, haha,
your rent to go see othellow honey. So it starts
Denzel Washington and Jake Gillenhall and it's produced by Candy
Burris and Todd Tucker. They are on Broadway, y'all, And

(01:17:34):
it's already been in just a couple of weeks that
has been open. It is the top grossing Broadway play
of all times, y'all, in just a few weeks. Okay.
It has already earned two point eight million dollars in
just eight performances, and that was before the official opening
on March twenty third, so it's earned more than that actually.

(01:17:58):
So Denzel has said he's a stage actor who does film.
You know, he actually learned how to act on the
stage rather than in films. And if you want to go,
you better hurry up and get your tickets because it's
only gonna be there till June eighth. So are y'all
gonna see it? Let me know what y'all think. I
was thinking about going, But then that's a grip right there.
I'm gonna have to go and report on it or

(01:18:19):
something through a story on and get a breast pass.
I'm just saying, that's a lot of money. But you know,
Candy Burr, she's been doing her thing, producing these Broadway plays.
I mean, I missed the Wiz. I wish I had
gotten a chance to see it. But yeah, she doing
her thing. Her and her husband, they out here doing it.
So in other news, Sean Kingston, him and his mom

(01:18:40):
got convicted. I really hate that that is, he undragged
his mom into some foolery. So, yes, Sean Kingston and
his mom's name is Janice Turner. They got convicted on
federal wire fraud. So yes, it's one million dollars worth
of fraud. Yes, they were accused of scamming vendors out

(01:19:01):
of a million dollars worth of goods, you know, luxury cars,
jewelry and other high end goods, you know, and they
were saying that they wired the money. So they would
be sentenced on July eleventh. He is on house arrest
until then. So he's thirty five. She's sixty one. Again,
I really hate that she's involved in that. She is

(01:19:23):
just too old to be going to prison. So they
actually put her in federal custody. I'm like now, why
is he getting to sit at in the house in
the air condition on house arrests and they don't put
her up in federal custody. You know, I'm really confused
about that. You know, they both pled not guilty, but
I think it's because Moms she went and testified. You

(01:19:46):
messed it up, Janice, you messed it up. Moms testified
during the trial that she was irresponsible with her son's
money and created fake wire transfers. She said that she
had every intention on pay and the fake documents were
a way to buy time and investigate the legitimacy of
the vendors straightfuller, cause you should have kept your mouth

(01:20:09):
closed on that one. Janis okay. They was not hearing
that you sixty one. So Sean Kingston, he ain't testified.
He was like, I ain't saying nothing. His lawyer said
he's a kid in his mind and doesn't get how
business works. The prosecution was like, that is not an excuse,
and fake documents are used to trick people. So you know,

(01:20:32):
these stars, you know, they got to keep up with
the life. They got to keep up with the lifestyle.
They gotta have the flashy jewelry. I say, god back
in the studio, make a song. Sean, you good, you
made that song. Beautiful girls, go on and get back
in the studio, go on a tour. That's how you
make your bread. Okay, all right, So Tiger Woods is
dating again, y'all. Yes, he dating. You know he got

(01:20:55):
a type on it.

Speaker 23 (01:20:56):
Ha ha.

Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
Who is he dating?

Speaker 21 (01:20:58):
Girl?

Speaker 10 (01:20:59):
He dating Essa Trump, donald Trump's ex daughter in law.
That's right, So how is it his ex daughter in law?
So she was married to Donald Trump Junior. Tiger Woods
actually called up Donald Trump and told him about it
a few weeks ago before this hit the public, and

(01:21:19):
Donald Trump gave him his blessing. He said, Hey, I
love Vanessa, I love you. I give y'all my blessing.
I want y'all to both be happy. So Vanessa and
Donald Trump Junior they have five kids together. Tiger Woods
kids and Vanessa's kids go to the same school, the
Benjamin School. So what's your thoughts on that, y'all? What's
your thoughts on that?

Speaker 17 (01:21:40):
All right?

Speaker 10 (01:21:41):
Last story, Ice Cube has inked a new deal for
Last Friday. That's right. He is gonna write the movie
and star in it. And it is the fourth film
in the Friday franchise series. So you know, the bad
thing is, you know that several actors have passed away
since they filmed the last one. Pops is Gone that

(01:22:02):
was played by John Witherspoon. D Low is Gone that
was played by Tiny Zeus Lister Junior AJ Johnson also
passed away since then. So what y'all think? Who should
they get to replace them? You think Chris Tucker is
gonna be in the movie because you know, at first,
you know, he said that he won't be in it
anymore because you know, they smoke weed and everything. He's

(01:22:22):
a Christian. So what y'all think? You think they gonna
get him back? You think they gonna get Mike Epps back?
What new actors do y'all want to see? All right,
that's it for the Holy Teeth for today. We're gonna
go ahead and get back to some of this great music.
Next up is King Jesus by k B and No
Big Deal, and we will be right back with some
more great show right here on the Me and miss

Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
People don't care. You keep Christ and your Christmas. If taken,
I see them. It's pricing the Christian. You do the division.

Speaker 50 (01:23:50):
I'll give me some difference controlling this place, so I
give them pay.

Speaker 49 (01:24:03):
I got the ghost, so I don't know Rose, but
I might push a fanom.

Speaker 21 (01:24:06):
That's right off the line.

Speaker 12 (01:24:07):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
I'm serving the Father time.

Speaker 49 (01:24:09):

Speaker 24 (01:27:19):
You know that when you turn, they probably think I'm
rolling nine. I'm nothing. They probably think I'm rolling nine.
I'm nothing. They probably think I'm rolling nine.

Speaker 3 (01:27:26):

Speaker 10 (01:27:59):
Jes Hey, y'all want to know where you can find
the best urban inspirational music only on the Me and
Miss Jones Show. Welcome back. You're listening to the Me

(01:28:30):
and Miss Jones Show. I'm still your host, doctor Miss Jones.
It is time to bring on the Woman of God.
So if you are in the clubhouse and you have
any prayer requests, go ahead and put them in the
chat so that the Woman of God can pray for you.
So she is a pastor at Evangelistic Teaching Outreach Ministries.

(01:28:54):
I want you all to welcome New York City's own pastor,
Jeanette Dukes. Hey, Hey, greeting greetings.

Speaker 34 (01:29:07):
How are you?

Speaker 46 (01:29:09):
I am well.

Speaker 19 (01:29:12):
And I just got thanks to God.

Speaker 10 (01:29:13):
And everything amen all the time. So I want to
thank you so much for coming on.

Speaker 46 (01:29:24):
Yes, it is a clause little to bee and I
just want to share a good by God put in
my heart to share with the listeners.

Speaker 10 (01:29:35):
Heyday, Amen. So I always like to tell everybody where
I meet my guests. I met you in the Bronx
last year. I think it was in the summertime. We
went to support Pastor Lamont Banks. He was being honored
and the Banks family invited us down. We were in
the Bronx for something else, and we said, oh, yeah,
we're gonna go ahead and come through. And I met

(01:29:57):
you downstairs in the fellowship hall. All they were about
to serve some food and I think have some cake
and stuff, and we just got to talk and I
was like, oh, I got to have you on the show.
So thanks again so much for accepting my invitation.

Speaker 19 (01:30:15):
Surely it is a pleasure.

Speaker 6 (01:30:17):
Yes, I love what I do.

Speaker 38 (01:30:19):
I love what I do because I love God.

Speaker 10 (01:30:21):
Amen. So tell us a little bit about your journey
to pastoring. I know you've done everything in the church
saying usher been an evangelist assistant pastor. So tell us
about the call. How you knew you were called of God?
Because I know you you decided to step out and
you and your husband, you know you you were the

(01:30:42):
one to say, hey, let's go ahead and start our
own ministry.

Speaker 46 (01:30:49):
Yes, a cone of God came on my life at
a tender age about two through through four, and it
was told through an all the prophet that God was
going to use me to carry the word and our friend,
and I just thought of studying and cleaning and.

Speaker 21 (01:31:11):
Asking God for direction.

Speaker 46 (01:31:12):
And ever since, from the year of nineteen eighty eight,
I've been just you by the bacle of God.

Speaker 4 (01:31:20):
Amen.

Speaker 10 (01:31:21):
Amen. So you are the pastor and your husband is
an elder.

Speaker 46 (01:31:27):
He's an executive pastor of the ministry.

Speaker 38 (01:31:31):
We worked together in.

Speaker 19 (01:31:32):
The ministry, but the vision was given.

Speaker 36 (01:31:34):
To me in.

Speaker 46 (01:31:36):
Twenty sixteen evangelistic teaching outreach ministries because I know that
God enough to reach out to sold them to hell
to be believer to know Him, and that's what.

Speaker 19 (01:31:52):
There's been all about, a relationship with God.

Speaker 10 (01:31:54):
Yes, personally you're basically co pastor. Then yes, okay, beautiful, beautiful.
We got to definitely get him on to come on
and do words of inspiration as whilst who will love that?
That would be great. So yeah, we definitely are ready
for the Word. I always like to make sure that
I get the word out because some people don't make
it into the church building. They like to hear the

(01:32:16):
word on radio, YouTube, you know they watch it on
social media. So I always like to make sure we
get some word in here for the people for the week.
So what has God put on your heart? For the people.

Speaker 46 (01:32:31):
God had put on my heart? See Choon the sixteen
chapter the thirty or ost.

Speaker 19 (01:32:42):
The keyboard and topic is be courage in the Chung time.

Speaker 46 (01:32:50):
Who are living in? Yes, in God plan for your life. Yes,
encouraged and sixteen or thirty we released in things. I
have spoken on to you that in me you might
have peace.

Speaker 6 (01:33:09):
In the world.

Speaker 46 (01:33:11):
You will have tribulation, but be a brituer. I have
overcome the world. Yes, And that is the Lord's peeping
to the disciples. Disciples are followers of Him that believe
in Him and believe in trusting the world. That He

(01:33:32):
speaks to your ears, because when you get into your
ears and listen.

Speaker 38 (01:33:37):
It gets into your heart.

Speaker 46 (01:33:39):
Yes, unless for the world not resign in the heart
and the heart in the heart. So I just want
to encourage every listening on to be encouragingly trying parents
we are living in because we're living in trying times
where we're going to be tested in everything we do. Yes,

(01:34:02):
that has faith been God's playing for real love. It's
between you and God.

Speaker 19 (01:34:08):
You're in the Lord, You're relationship with God.

Speaker 10 (01:34:12):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:34:13):
Yes.

Speaker 46 (01:34:14):
And to define in courage is the action of giving
thing support, confidence.

Speaker 19 (01:34:23):
Or hope strengthen you and it strengthens us.

Speaker 21 (01:34:28):
And how do we build this up?

Speaker 46 (01:34:30):
We build it up by any time in Korea, talk
to God for your hall. It's not in build vocabulary words.
It's just simple disability from the heart communicating him. No
matter what the situation is. We can talk to our home,
your Father and Lord that he's listening and that he
will answer you. Even if the answer the pin right away,

(01:34:54):
it will come and you will order that God speaking
for you and giving you the right answer us, he
will never for long.

Speaker 10 (01:35:03):
Amen.

Speaker 46 (01:35:04):
If I just want to in comte and I'm gonna pull,
I'm gonna we be anew the vote that came in
the spirits in the Book of Second Corinthians. These are
epistles that Puller wrote to believer to encourage us and
to beautiful instructions and that second prevent you before and

(01:35:26):
nine verses, which says, we get persecuted, but we are
not the faking. We get cast down, but we are
not destroyed. Amen, And in the eighth ofs we brought
up a little more seven. But we have this treasure
in earth invessels.

Speaker 38 (01:35:44):
That to except the excellency of the power may be
of God and not of us.

Speaker 21 (01:35:51):
We are troubled on.

Speaker 46 (01:35:53):
Every side, yet not distressed. We are perplexed for not
in despair, persecuted for me a freaking hairstones are not destroyed.
So we are going experience and some serious testing trials,
especially in this day.

Speaker 19 (01:36:09):
In this hour, and this world and the time that we're.

Speaker 46 (01:36:13):
Living in where all kinds of stuff is going on.
But the worst thing is that we can stay in
courage knowing that God's got your bank, He's got his
plan for your life.

Speaker 21 (01:36:27):
And Jomi A twenty.

Speaker 46 (01:36:29):
Nine to eleven says, I know the plans I have
for you, plans of peace, not an evil, to give
you a hope and future. So I just want to
encourage every one, doctor miss Jones, and every listeners to
be encouraged, have confidence, have faith in God.

Speaker 19 (01:36:48):
You and either come to God.

Speaker 46 (01:36:50):
Must believe that he is and that he's a reward
to being that diligently seek him, and only know how
it's been hours and hours to bank just so some
time and as feel able here and a for your
prayer being pray with jeveryone that God loves you so much.

Speaker 38 (01:37:12):
Yes, it's song.

Speaker 10 (01:37:14):
Amen. Amen, Amen, thank you so much for that word
of encouragement. So I want you to pray. I have
a few prayer requests and I see some prayer requests
in the chat. Again, if you are in clubhouse, quickly
put in your prayer requests in the chat. So I
basically just want you to pray for the show that
me and Miss Jones show and the listeners in the chat.

(01:37:35):
We have several prayers as well. Blessed Creative wants a
prayer for endurance as well as a prayer for spiritual healing,
growth and protection. Mischel Banks wants prayers for the missing, exploited,
abused children and prayers for families that are struggling with
the loss of loved ones due to violence. Amen. Yes,

(01:38:00):
something else that God has put on your heart to
pray about.

Speaker 46 (01:38:03):
All right, We're gonna pray, Amen, Father God, every prayer request.

Speaker 47 (01:38:09):
That has the name known unto you, Oh God, as
they put in the chat. Father God, you know the
hearts of each and everyone that asks me to requests
of God. And they ask it because.

Speaker 46 (01:38:21):
They believe that when we pray, we believe that we
shall receive the answer and the manifestation of what you
are able to do. You're able to do exceeding abundantly
above all we can accept and according to the power
that works within us, and that power is our faith in.

Speaker 38 (01:38:40):
Your word, Oh God, you honor your world because you
are the living Word.

Speaker 51 (01:38:45):
Father.

Speaker 46 (01:38:45):
We pray for endurance for that person, that you will
strengthening their heart, strengthen their increase their faith, brot in
their heart, Comfort them on every pride. Thank you Lord
for doing it, or God in advance. Comfort those that
O God have lost loved ones. Lord of God, strengthened
their hearts, Confort their hearts, help them to.

Speaker 19 (01:39:05):
Fill your love and be blanketed with your presence.

Speaker 46 (01:39:08):
Blank at them with the pleasant presence of love, of
the fruit of love and your peace.

Speaker 10 (01:39:14):
Oh God.

Speaker 46 (01:39:15):
We thank the Lord, O God for every prayer request
being answered and the act this in the name of
your skin the Lord, Jesus and man, and thank you Father.
We pray conpletly Lord God, and detest and times of
trials that we're living in, when everything that's going on,
people are confused, and people don't understand what's happening in

(01:39:39):
our government in the right house o God and political matters. Father,
help me to trust in you and know that you
are in control of all things. And there's nothing that's
happening that you don't know about, that you don't see,
that you don't hear, because you are God and God alone.
We thank you, Lord, hallelujah, oration and guidance and increase

(01:40:02):
from our faith the trust you a lot of what
it looks like fools like seams, like we learned.

Speaker 38 (01:40:09):
We brought as God.

Speaker 21 (01:40:12):
Jesus's name, Jesus' name.

Speaker 10 (01:40:15):
Amen, Thank you so much for that anointed prayer. So
I wanted to talk a little bit about the Marvin
Sap backlash that he has been getting. It's been all
over social media. He recently had a service and he
told the ushers to close the doors during the offering.

(01:40:36):
So I'm going to play a clip of that for
about a minute and then we will come back and discuss.

Speaker 52 (01:40:43):
All right, there's one thousand of you. I said, close
them doors, ushers, close the doors, close the doors, close
the doors. We all gonna lead together. Y'all ain't going
no place but to the restaurant. There's one thousand of

(01:41:05):
you tonight, and those that are watching, it's a thousand
that's watching online.

Speaker 21 (01:41:12):
This is a small seed.

Speaker 52 (01:41:14):
If I get a thousand on line to give this,
if I get a thousand in the sanctuary to give this,
that's forty thousand dollars tonight. I'm challenging each of you
all down here to give a twenty dollars seed. I
just think twenty dollars a lot of money. Twenty dollars,
believe it or not. When my late wife, Melinda pe
s Apple was alive, was a good date. I could

(01:41:38):
take her to the movies, buy a box of popcorn,
get one Solda, two straws.

Speaker 21 (01:41:43):
I wasn't cheap that swag.

Speaker 52 (01:41:45):
I was looking at her eyes, she's looking at mine.

Speaker 21 (01:41:50):
I can't do that no more.

Speaker 52 (01:41:52):
Now, everyone up here, we've.

Speaker 17 (01:41:54):
All sold in seated.

Speaker 52 (01:41:55):
But I need everyone standing up here with us with
me to plan a seed of one hundred dollars, because again,
it cost to sit up here.

Speaker 10 (01:42:20):
All right. That was Marvin Sapp and he was giving
basically a call for people to give an offering. He
told the ushers several times to close the doors. He's
been getting a lot of backlash. So what are your
thoughts in comments? Is this a normal thing for preachers

(01:42:44):
to tell the ushers to close the doors?

Speaker 53 (01:42:48):
Okay, based on my experience, when it's time to take
an offering in our ministry in the Bronx work, we do.

Speaker 46 (01:43:02):
H relock before in a ray of the community they
shrudded out that are that.

Speaker 19 (01:43:09):
It can be secure.

Speaker 46 (01:43:10):
But in my thoughts of told the offers to close
the boys to the sak of offering time and that
no one should leave out air be able to have
a free will of him a little bit to leave
at the time there is a manner of respect and

(01:43:30):
an offering time. Yes, because it is a part of Russia,
but it shouldn't be out of stable people or any
belie of the congregation and numbers should pure visit.

Speaker 19 (01:43:43):
They should prove that they.

Speaker 38 (01:43:45):
Are forced to remain if they choose to.

Speaker 46 (01:43:51):
Not have or give an offer. You don't know that
people are able to for here as far as giving
if they had it or not. But it shouldn't be
of the It should never be a man. It shall
never feel that anyone is forced.

Speaker 38 (01:44:06):
It's a full will also.

Speaker 46 (01:44:09):
And it should never be will. We're not food for
to get up and me. But I will say that
an offering time was a manner of the fact that
you have to give in the way of that's the
part of roadship, of giving right as unto the Lord.
If you act for an amount, so you will like

(01:44:31):
that pop forgive. It should never be closed by a
feeling of the man.

Speaker 10 (01:44:36):
Okay, God loves a cheerful giver. Yes, I think that
people also kind of maybe thought they heard lock the
doors instead of closed the doors, because I think closing
the doors is normal because again, you want safety. But
I think it's just the way that he said it,
close the doors, close the doors, like don't let nobody out,

(01:44:59):
you know.

Speaker 21 (01:45:01):
Yes, yeah, I have hurled back for us.

Speaker 10 (01:45:04):
Okay. So Angela and Missy Billips is in clubhouse. She
put in the chat it's a distraction with people moving
when this is happening. So yeah, so I think it
is kind of normal. I see you got your mic
off to Angela Missy Billups. I don't know if you
wanted to say anything, Hey, Hey, how you doing.

Speaker 38 (01:45:26):
Good?

Speaker 1 (01:45:27):
How are you?

Speaker 28 (01:45:28):
I was blessed, I am so blessed, but I wanted
to chime in.

Speaker 11 (01:45:31):
On that topic because I think it's a shame that
the church went and made this such a big issue,
where if you really look at it, when.

Speaker 20 (01:45:41):
People are moving all over the plate for offering.

Speaker 36 (01:45:44):
Other people tend not to even give. So you want
to kind of settle your environment a closer.

Speaker 46 (01:45:50):
I think Walker and Everybody's church, and that's.

Speaker 19 (01:45:55):
One thing they say is no walking, we get ready
to take up the offering.

Speaker 10 (01:45:59):
So right, But you know, I don't even think it's
the church that's doing this. I think it's other people
that's getting the backlash.

Speaker 17 (01:46:07):
You know, I've seen it.

Speaker 46 (01:46:08):
On Facebook and it's been unbelievable.

Speaker 10 (01:46:12):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, thank you, thank you for
chiming in. I appreciate and have a blessed day you
missed Christopher.

Speaker 19 (01:46:23):
I'm so upset you put that link out here.

Speaker 17 (01:46:26):
I said, Oh, gotta get on.

Speaker 20 (01:46:30):
Your blessing the people and doing what you're.

Speaker 19 (01:46:32):

that as well. I think that definitely gives some clarity
because I definitely do you know, feel bad that he's
been getting all this backlash because it's really what everybody's

(01:47:18):
doing is you know, the unbelievers have gotten hold of them.
So you know, yeah, yes, why don't you invite people
