Oprah Winfrey's words resonated with me as I found myself at a crossroads, her wisdom a beacon in the haze of failure. This week on the Melanin Unicorn Podcast, we celebrate the iconic Oprah and bask in the renewed magic of 'The Color Purple,' applauding its well-deserved Oscar buzz. As your host, Kerry, I'm here to share with you how Oprah's perspective on failure can transform setbacks into stepping stones toward your greatness. I'll be your guide as we explore the beauty of resilience and how embracing failure is not the end of your journey, but the catalyst for your success story.

Set your sights on a path of triumph and self-love, as this episode is a testament to the strength and uniqueness within each Black woman. I lay bare my own experiences with setbacks, illustrating how they serve as a powerful prelude to victory. (00:23):
goals in life.
Plus, we are going to hold eachother accountable.
My name is Kerry and today isBlack Women's Moment.
I'm so excited for this episode, so let's start the show Again.
Hello and welcome to BlackWomen Moment.

(00:47):
So this episode will be short, but it will be food for your
thoughts, heart, mind, and soul.
So today's Black Women Momentis none other than the beautiful
Oprah Winfrey.
Oprah Gale Winfrey, often knownsimply as Oprah, is an American

(01:10):
talk show host, televisionproducer, actress, author and
philanthropist.
She is best known for her talkshow, the Oprah Winfrey Show,
broadcasted from Chicago, whichwas the highest rated television
program of its kind in historyand ran in national syndication

(01:31):
for 25 years, from 1986 to 2011,.
Dubbed the Queen of all media, she was the richest African
American of the 20th century, which was once the world's only
Black billionaire, the greatestBlack philanthropist in US

(01:55):
history.
So, as we know, the colorpurple is in theaters and it is
getting glory reviews.
The Oscar nominations have comein and we just were so excited
for it.
We just so excited that thisincredible cast came together

(02:21):
and put on such a beautifulcinema experience for us to
enjoy.
So, Ms.
Winfrey, said there is no suchthing as failure.
And it goes like this there isno such thing as failure.

(02:43):
Failure is just life trying tomove you in another direction.
So I'll say that again there isno such thing as failure.
Failure is just life trying tomove you in another direction.
And too often we get caught upor hung up on failure.

(03:10):
We think failure is the end.
We think failure means that wehave no business attempting to
do the thing or things that wewant to do and we should just go
back to our mundane or ordinarylife.

(03:32):
Failure is actually a setup.
Failure is a setup into yourgreatness.
Failure is a setup, notsomething that will put you down
, but will stand you up, and ifyou persist through the failure,

(03:52):
you will come out victorious Onthe other side.
And I know that for a factbecause I am a living witness.
I am proof of that.
So if we stop looking atfailure as it being the end and
start looking at failure as thebeginning, the beginning of our

(04:16):
success.
Then our outcome will be somuch
Sweeter, I'm telling you don'tlook at failure as you are out,
you're out of the game, you'reout of the race.
No, look at failure as oh, I'mabout to walk through this door.

(04:41):
I'm about to walk through thisdoor and just expand, expand my
horizons.
And, on that note, I want tothank you for once again tuning

(05:01):
into the show.
I'm so appreciative and I'm sograteful and I just want you and
I need you to remember that youare loved, you are excellent,
you are beautiful, you are well, you are safe and, most
importantly, you are you.

(05:24):
I will speak with everyone soonfor our next full episode,
which will be coming next week, and I just want everyone to take
care wherever you are, and wewill speak soon.
I'll talk to you later.
