Speaker 1 (00:00):
So how can I balance
my coaching business with family
time?
So this is a question we getasked a lot by our clients who
are also coaches, but thenpeople that they're coaching
struggle with this too, like howdo they balance it all?
So I know we've come into somethings very recently that helps
us stay more focused and moreintentional with where we're at,
and I'd like us to actuallytalk a little bit about how we
(00:20):
help coaches, but then also howwe help coaches coach the people
that are their clients togetting better results.
Not only that, but also beingable to handle and balance
multiple things.
Let's talk about, like, themindset, the tactics and the
accountability, because that'swhat we always talk about on
this channel, right?
The mindset, which is having todo with the coaching, having to
do with, like, the thoughtsthat you have around that thing.
The tactics, meaning like howcan you rearrange your schedule
(00:43):
and figure it out and yourbusiness is really something
that's not going to help you.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
So it's first
identifying and becoming aware
that there isn't a true balanceto everything.
Now there's a focus that we canhave, there's like a little bit
of harmony that we can playaround with, but that is all
kind of on an individual level.
So what I try to do with myclients is help them identify
that.
Help them identify what aretheir priorities, what's most
(01:30):
important to them and what'simportant in that particular
season that they're in.
So if right now their businessis something that they really
want to gain momentum in, thenwe try to focus on how we can
implement some reallylaser-focused strategies so that
they are able to spend time ontheir business, but not so much
that it's impeding in theirother areas.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
It sounds very
similar to the 80-20 rule.
I know you're going to talkabout that in a second, but I
really like that first mindsetshift.
So whenever I'm coachingwhether it's a coach or a client
one of the things I want to dois get them to feel that the
fact that they feel like they'reoff balance, or whatever
problem they're bringing me, isbecause they want me to help
them with it.
Right, but they're currentlyfeeling like they're off balance
.
To let them know that that's animportant part of the process,
because that is just evidencethat there's a great opportunity
(02:13):
here.
Right and this is the way thatit always works, right Is you
feel out of balance, and so thatgives you the foresight to go.
Maybe I should reflect on thisand make some changes to it.
So it's important to justrecognize that, hey, you know
what?
Maybe you're off on the wrongpath, but actually that's an
important thing, because ittells you that your values are
out of alignment.
It's time to get into alignment.
So I like to give them the hope, because a lot of times, people
(02:36):
bring problems to us, right?
They're like how do I grow mybusiness, how do I do this?
How do I make this kind ofimpact and it's an important
question to ask because you'regoing through that struggle.
So it's an opportunity for youto find the answer to that.
And if you weren't goingthrough that struggle, or you
were going through that struggleand didn't even bring it up,
like then, that would show methat maybe it wasn't as
important to you, right?
So being able to reframe it soyou can give them hope there's a
(02:59):
possible solution, 100%, I lovethat.
Now you talk about the 80-20rule.
Can you kind of explain thatand how you actually do help
your clients find what's themost important thing to do?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, so the idea of
the 80-20 rule is basically that
you identify what is the 20% ofactivities that are going to
produce 80% of your results.
So that's really kind of likethe focus, the laser focus that
we talk about, because there isnot.
You know, you don't have likethis abundance of time and
(03:30):
especially energy.
So there are certain thingsthat you can identify that
really move the needle forwardfor you and you know, for
example, your business.
So there are certain thingsthat you can identify that are
your 20%, that are going toproduce 80% of your results.
A lot of times we have itbackwards, where we focus on the
things that don't move theneedle forward and we spend the
(03:52):
most time and the most energy inthose areas, and that's where
we find ourselves in trouble, because we can't gain momentum
that way.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah, I know we kind
of call that the whirlwind.
When it comes to, like us,coaching our clients, is very
easy to get trapped in thewhirlwind and that pulls you out
of the goals, the impact andwhat you want to do and create,
especially when it comes to thenew year, right?
So being able to identify thethings that move the needle the
most are really important.
I mean, it's something that weeven do in our breakdown session
, where we help the clients comeup with goals.
(04:20):
It's very easy to come up with72 new activities for you to do,
right, but when you focus onthe things that move the needle
the most, it's crazy how muchquicker you can move your
business, move your familyconnection and move your weight
loss on your scale, on the scaleor whatever it is that you're
like.
Helping a client coach aroundis when you help them get that
focus.
You're a coach with a big heartand a powerful desire to make a

Thank you for being willing tolean in and let's get right back
into the show.
So let's talk about the thirdthing.
Let's talk about accountability.
I want to talk about this onefor a little bit, just because
accountability is an importantpiece, because it's the
uncomfortable piece.
We kind of like want to pretendthat we can do it on our own,
sit in the back of the room andthen we repeat a lot of the
(05:24):
problems and things that we'vedone in the past.
And it's because we just wantto stay safe, right, we don't
want to tell another human thatthis is our goal and to hold us
to it, right, or even we thinkabout accountability.
We're like I love it, I'd loveto be accountable, and then when
it happens like you don't wantto lean into it, right.
So this is one of those thingswhere you know we always talk
about like being uncomfortableand when you lean into
(05:44):
uncomfortableness, like thatgives you the greatest
opportunity to step up and toshow up in a different way, like
Jim Rohn always says, like ifyou want something different,
you have to do somethingdifferent, and so when you put
yourself out there, when youeither have a mentor I mean we
have our coach acceleratorprogram, we have, like, there's
so many opportunities for youlean into a group, a team, a
mentor, somebody to hold youaccountable, and not somebody
(06:04):
who will let you off the hook, but somebody who knows and
appreciates you and knows thatyou have another level inside of
you.
That's the person that you wantto grab onto.
They're not going to beat youup, but they're going to call
you forward and get you to stepinto the best version of you.
That is always something that Ifind is so incredibly important
.
No matter what your client istrying to achieve, no matter
what you're trying to achieve isask yourself, like who can I
(06:26):
find that maybe is a few stepsahead of me.
That can help hold me to this.
So it's really, really powerful.
All right, so winding this allup the mindset, knowing that you
have hope, there'spossibilities this is trying to
teach you a lesson the tacticswhat are the things that matter
the most to you and how can youtake action on that?
And number three is how can youput yourself in an environment
where somebody can call youforward to get you to take
(06:46):
action?
That's the power to making surethat you have everything in
alignment and you're findingthat harmony that's really going
to help you not only excel inbusiness, but excel in personal
life too.
