Speaker 1 (01:08):
Hello everyone and
welcome to another episode of
the Modern Zen CollectivePodcast.
I am Nikki.
This is a solo cast.
I am so happy you are hereToday.
We are going into a questionthat comes across a lot when you
are starting to uncover whatyou truly want to do moving
forward with your purpose, maybeleaving your corporate job,
stepping into the unknown andthe question is where are you
(01:32):
still hiding?
So grab a journal.
This will be a short one.
We'll do some reflection andyou'll have time after to dig a
little bit more into thesequestions.
Specifically for you.
This isn't a judgment episode.
This is a mirror.
This is a question where we aregoing to explore and everyone's
journey is different, so wewant to look at where are you
(01:54):
playing small?
Where are you holding back yourtruth?
Are you shrinking your light?
Are you staying in the familiar?
But deep down, you know it's nolonger aligned, just a gentle
awareness throughout thisepisode.
So let's take a moment toexplore this together with
compassion and curiosity.
July 2025 has been an energyabout stepping into radiance and
(02:20):
power, and before we do that,we really want to look at what
could still be in the shadows.
Where are the parts of us thatwe are not fully stepping into
or holding on with such a tightgrasp to stay in that familiar.
Joe Dispenza has that famousquote where he talks about how
(02:42):
we will choose a familiar hellover an unfamiliar heaven,
because we are unsure of whatthe future holds.
And a lot of that, from hisperspective, has to do with our
nervous system and survival andmaking sure that we are not
around threat.
The unknown is threat becausewe're not sure what it is.
When you have the familiar thatyou see and do and feel every
(03:02):
single day, that is your safetynet.
So July has been about steppinginto your own power, your own
radiance, with all of the cosmicactivity that we've had this
year solar flares, everythinggoing on this year to really
support you in that way and todo so.
We can't build a house on arocky foundation or a foundation
(03:27):
that does not have the correctattributes, the correct strength
, the correct alignment for youas a person and what you were
created to bring here and birthinto this world.
So the central question for thisepisode is where are you still
(03:47):
hiding?
Where are you still hiding fromyourself, from your purpose,
from your truth?
So let's look at this from asoft reflection.
Are you waiting for permissionto share your voice?
Is that something where youhang out?
Wait for permission, wait forsomeone to ask you, wait for
(04:10):
someone to tell you it's okay tospeak your voice, speak your
truth, express yourself.
Are you waiting for that?
So we've talked before abouthuman design and different types
of human design types and howthere are some that are meant to
be the igniters, the initiators, and there are some that are
waiting for the invitation.
This is different than that.
(04:32):
This is different than youwaiting for the invitation to be
asked to do something.
This is more about your innertruth.
So waiting for the invitationfor human design is more so
about creation, opportunities,partnerships, community,
different things like that.
But it still means that you ownyour own inner voice, like
that's your sovereignty, that'syour own personal part of you,
(04:55):
that no one can tell you what itis, how to say it, etc.
Although people will try.
You get to have your strongfoundation where you decide what
your truth is, how to speak it,and to own your authenticity,
because the universe, god, however you want to name that
(05:16):
energy, light, energy, etc.
Just wants you to get back toyour authenticity, wants you to
get back to your authenticenergy inside, that you are at a
soul level, without all thelayers of everything that have
been thrown on top of it, forsurvival, acceptance, all of
that.
So are you waiting forpermission to share your voice?
(05:38):
So are you waiting forpermission to either have the
space made for you to share yourvoice, or feel that it's safe
for you to share your voice, orfeel that it's safe for you to
share your voice, or havesomeone tell you that it's okay
to share your voice and, withthis part, just have a gentle
reflection of that?
Are there times in your lifelately if not within the last
(05:58):
few months or in 2025, or whenyou're listening to this episode
that you have held your tonguewhen you knew you wanted to say
something?
Now, isn't this just such afine dance?
Because we have two ears, youknow one mouth, so we're meant
to listen twice as much as wecommunicate and talk.
That's part of the generatingand creating and embodying the
(06:21):
wisdom that is out there for us.
We also need to state our truth, who we are and own that part
of us.
So begin peeling that apart andseeing.
Is that an area where you'rehiding, where you're waiting for
permission to share your voice.
Another one to think about andto reflect on is are you
(06:43):
shrinking in relationships andwork?
Are you shrinking in ways thatyou're not fully putting
yourself out there being seen, whether that's in a relationship
, for fear of judgment, or ifit's at work, for also fear of
judgment, and you don't havethis energy of you know,
shoulders together, spine isstraight with this confidence.
(07:04):
Have you heard of the?
You know superwoman.
Spine is straight with thisconfidence.
Have you heard of the?
You know superwoman, supermanpose with your hands on your
hips, just having that energy.
So with that, are you shrinking?
Are you shrinking yourself?
Another beautiful teacher thatis great with this is Gabor Mate
, where he talks about the isgreat with this is Gabor Mate,
(07:27):
where he talks about thechildhood decision of acceptance
versus authenticity.
So if a child realized early onthat if it embodies who the
child authentically is, it isnot accepted.
The child chooses acceptanceand pushes down authenticity for
purely survival and to be therein that energy to have someone
(07:48):
provide for them that the childcannot provide for themselves.
So that's something that isreally true here when we look
back at familiar patterns andwhere this all came from.
So are you shrinking?
Are you shrinking yourself, whether it may be work,
relationships anywhere in yourlife, to not fully embody who
you are?
And are you staying quiet aboutwhat you really want?
(08:11):
Another reflection question Areyou staying quiet about what you
really want?
Do you even know what youreally want?
You know we move so fast inlife and we move quickly and we
are going from place to place, thing to thing, filling the
airwaves with everything from Ato Z.
Do you know what you want?
You might want to considerhaving some quiet time to really
(08:34):
paint a picture of what it isyou want.
And when you start to do thisuncovering and this
self-reflection, start torealize that some of the things
you wanted might have beensomething that were, you know,
societal norms or things thatyou actually don't feel lit up
in your soul to actually do.
What is it that you feel lit upin your soul to actually do?
(08:54):
So, removing that gunk toreally know what you really want
and then speak it and then moveforward with it.
So that's a way to show who youare, show who you truly are at
your core essence.
That authentic piece that wetalked about is what the
(09:16):
universe wants you to do, justwants you to get back to who you
are authentically as a person.
So let's reflect on why we hide.
You know I've talked about JoeDispenza, talked about Gabor
Mate.
There are a lot of teachers outthere.
Wayne Dyer is another greatteacher, talks about a lot of
subjects relating to this.
So you know there's a fear ofrejection, and that's not just
(09:38):
you, it goes across the board, afear of rejection that is
really across society.
You know it can stem fromchildhood, from classrooms, from
being humiliated.
It can, you know, come fromanywhere, but a fear of
rejection from classrooms, frombeing humiliated, it can come
from anywhere, but a fear ofrejection.
And with that, these spiritualteachers that speak about fear
(10:01):
of rejection.
Rejection is one of the emotionsthat we incarnated here on
earth to experience.
We came here to experience thearray, the vastness of emotions,
from the top top to the low, low.
That's why we are here on earth.
Yes, the good feels amazing andthe bad does not feel that
great.
We need the balance.
We need that balance and that'swhy we are here on earth at
(10:24):
this time, before we move as asociety and as a species and
earth, etc.
Into this 5D light where we aremoving from having that deep,
deep, deep polarity that'severywhere.
So we're moving into more ofthat age of Aquarius,
transparency, love, et cetera.
But this has been really ourbootcamp for so long to get
(10:47):
there for millions and millionsand millions and millions of
years and eons and everythingthat goes along with it.
So how amazing is it to be hereon earth at this time, at this
tipping point, that we aremoving forward.
It's been written in all kindsof texts of this time on our
planet that we are movingforward.
(11:08):
So rejection, if we can reframeit, is just another emotion.
You know, fear of rejection isanother emotion that we can hide
from so that we don't feel it.
But that rejection, thatrejection emotion when we feel
it, how beautiful it is that wecan actually feel these feelings
and feel this energy inside ofus to then know what acceptance
(11:32):
feels like, to then know whatecstasy feels like, what
empowerment feels like, but thenalso to learn from rejection,
but then also to have compassionfor other people around you who
might experience rejection.
See, there's all kinds ofreasons why we experience these
lower emotions.
So fear of rejection can be areason why we hide Along with
(11:55):
that can also be old patterns ofpeople-pleasing.
You know wanting to make sureeveryone around you is happy and
that their happiness as apeople-pleaser you feel vastly
responsible for.
So you feel almost you have tomold yourself to create the
personality, the responses, communication style etc to
(12:20):
people please someone.
And then you know, as a peoplepleaser you might find there are
some people you can neverpeople please because they are
just in an energy that they arenot going to be happy with
whatever is going on.
And that can be hard for peoplepleasers because you really are
finding your almost yourself-worth on how many people
(12:41):
around you are happy.
And we're not meant to getalong with everyone.
We're not meant to agree witheveryone.
We're meant to respectfullydisagree.
That is absolutely fine to say.
That's what you think.
This is what I think Great, pass the salt.
We don't need to fight to thedeath on every single thing,
little tiny thing that comes upabsolutely not.
And releasing old patterns ofpeople-pleasing is really going
(13:05):
back to some of those firstthings we talked about of being
strong in your foundation, yourauthenticity, stating your voice
.
Even if it's something that noone else in the room believes,
you believe it and that's okay.
And to not feel that energy ofoh, I'm definitely disappointing
someone because I'm making themupset.
You know, if you try to please,if you try to people, please
(13:29):
everyone and make everyone happy, your whole life is about just
exterior and not about you, andit really removes you from
getting back to that authenticplace with your soul so that you
can feel that energy and thenactually serve more people.
Yes, we want to serve people,we want to use our gifts to help
others.
But if we're hiding our giftsand we're not actually looking
at them and we're just peoplepleasing to make other people
(13:50):
happy, we're not doing anyone aservice, big disservice in that
way.
Other ways could be trauma orinternalized conditioning,
another thing that Gabor Matetalks about.
He has a lot of talks on thisthat you can find.
You know, when you're workingwith trauma work always great to
work with a practitioner orsomeone that can really walk you
through it.
There could be things that youknow aren't uncovered yet and
(14:18):
having someone that you can walkthrough side by side while you
might be peeling the onion andlearning things, can definitely
have that array of emotions thatwe talked about.
And having support with thatwhether it be a friend, family
or healthcare professional issomeone that's definitely going
to help you along that way sothat you can grow and evolve and
be able to heal that trauma.
(14:40):
And not only are you healingtrauma right now, in the here
and now, for you to grow forward, you're healing generations
before and after you.
So when you heal trauma, notonly are you healing the here
and now in you, you're healingso much in your lineage and
there's so much to be said withthat.
Because healing trauma can feelvery, very heavy and very
(15:04):
powerful and it can also feellike something you want to
completely avoid and not uncoverbecause it is so so much to
deal with and look at, etc.
And when you do, the amount oflightness that comes from it to
be able to heal your family andyour lineage is absolutely
(15:29):
incredible.
So only the strong came here atthis time on planet Earth to be
able to work through trauma andheal it and heal these patterns
of lineage.
You volunteered to be here.
You raised your hand.
You said I'll go down and I'llhelp the family with this
pattern that they haven't beenable to fix for 600 years.
You are here for that.
(15:49):
So working with someone fortrauma, realizing the patterns,
self-discovery as well, is great, and having someone to help you
along the way whether it's alife coach or anyone like that
would really really benefit youas well.
And you know another thing, foryou know why you're hiding is
that, that familiar pattern, that feeling that false sense of
(16:11):
safety in your invisibility,like you're invisible, you're
behind the scenes or you aren'tcontributing with your gifts
that you feel you have inside ofyou, like you don't want to die
with.
The song inside of you has beeninching to get out for 20, 30,
40, 50, 60 years.
You want to step into thatfully, gangbusters, go forward,
(16:40):
have judgment happen and justkeep moving forward, keep the
energy moving forward, becausewhen you feel that false sense
of safety in your invisibility,it's not serving anyone, like we
talked about.
It's not serving those thatwould be helped when you step
into your gifts and your purpose, and it's not helping yourself
align with your soul or anythingin that regard.
(17:01):
So let's look at this also fromthat reframe I talked about
before.
Hiding doesn't mean that youfailed, it doesn't.
This is our coping mechanism, this is our safety net, this is
our survival technique.
This is what we've done for somany years because we have been
trying to survive as a speciesand we need to know when there
(17:22):
is threat, when there is not.
And a lot of that comes fromthis vulnerability piece.
The vulnerability piece ofputting yourself out there,
whether it's going hunting orwhether it's, you know, sending
an email, like the energy insideof you from your ancestors to
now, can be completely the same, with that energy of the threat
(17:45):
and the intimidation for makingthat step to go forward.
So it doesn't mean that youfailed.
We've all been there.
We've all done this.
We've all seen areas andpatterns where we are hiding and
where we know we can take thosebig leaps, those big steps,
those calculated risks, thosebig risks, everything that we
need to step into our light, deep down.
(18:07):
We really know what that is andwe can be pushing it down.
And pushing it down andprocrastinating and staying in
our bubble.
And this isn't about, you know, performing in a certain way or
like pushing yourself.
It's about gently stepping outof your cave and into the light.
You don't have to.
(18:27):
Like I said before, gangbusters, yeah sure, go forward, move,
move, go, go, go.
That to me is the way that Imove forward with energy,
because I need to rip thebandaid off and go, otherwise
it'll be like a thousand papercuts and I am taking forever to
do something and I'mprocrastinating because I'm
living in that fear.
So only you know what energyyou have.
(18:51):
Are you the rip the band-aidoff person or are you the small
step?
Step out of the cave into thelight person, gently.
So let's look at some journalprompts.
If you want to grab yourjournal, you can journal now or
you can jot these down tojournal later.
So a first journal prompt whatpart of me is ready to be seen?
What part of me is ready to beseen?
(19:16):
Another journal prompt whatwould it feel like to be fully
visible and fully safe?
So when you first write that, what would it feel like to be
fully visible, see how it feelsin your body and finish the
sentence.
And fully safe and see how thatfeels.
(19:37):
And the third journal promptwhat's one small way I can stop
hiding today?
What is one small way I canstop hiding today?
So you don't need to wait forthe perfect moment to show up.
You don't need to wait for thestars to align.
(19:58):
You know what they're nevergoing to align.
Nothing's ever going to beperfect, and that's the beauty
in being here on earth as ahuman at this time.
Everything's going to always bechaotic and messy, or it can be
light and airy.
It's all based on yourperspective.
You know the Einstein quote.
Your biggest decision every dayis are you going to live?
Choose to live in a hostile ora peaceful universe.
(20:22):
So what is it that you can dotoday?
Just to show up.
You know you don't need to beperfect.
You're already now, exactly asyou are, and you can start to,
as I call it, shake the tree andstart to move the energy.
Because when you move one stepforward, the universe moves 10
steps forward.
So if you've been hanging outin the shadows one step forward,
(20:43):
the universe moves 10 stepforward.
So if you've been hanging outin the shadows, avoiding doing
that post, avoiding sending thatemail, avoiding making that
call, avoiding making thatbusiness introduction, avoiding,
you know, reaching out tosomeone, you know, whatever it
is that you're avoiding beingseen, when you finally make that
step it could even be sendingthat quick email or making a
quick phone call or doingwhatever it is that's something
(21:04):
that would move the energyforward the universe starts to
see it as oh okay, we're moving, let's go, and there's 10 steps
that go along with it.
So I call it shaking the tree.
You're just doing somethingdifferent.
You're getting out of thatautopilot, you're doing
something different throughoutyour day and that's helping to
show that you are moving intothat new energy.
So I am so happy that you arelistening to this today that you
(21:28):
stayed till the end.
This is a subject that's beenvery near and dear to my heart
since I left corporate and beingseen and also uncovering who am
I authentically, removing thelayers of people pleasing and
finding my authentic self, whichis a journey every single day,
finding who that is and beingunapologetically that person
when I show up wherever I ameach day.
(21:51):
So if something stirred you inthis episode, you know, take it
to your journal or have aconversation with someone that
you know you love, that youtrust, let it breathe, breathe
through it, talk through it andallow whatever questions and
answers come through tocompletely flow.
And if you're there to stepmore, you know invisibility, if
(22:14):
you're ready to step more intovisibility and more truth and
more alignment, we're right herewith you, we're walking with
you, we've done it, and youwould be surprised at how many
people around you are at thetipping point to do it too, but
have just been procrastinatingand been waiting and waiting and
waiting and haven't done it.
(22:35):
So you, moving that energyforward actually inspires others
around you to take risks or tomove forward to share their
light, to share their truth andto state their voice and to feel
that authentic self within.
Until next time, keep trustingwho you are inside and know that
it's safe to be seen.
We'll catch you next time.
(22:55):
