(00:48):

Are you ready?
Let's get into today's episode.
Welcome back to the MompreneurMindset podcast.
So in today's episode, we'regoing to talk about a topic that
I've been thinking a lot about,honestly, and it's something
that I think we can all relateto.

(01:10):
So before I tell you what thattopic is, I want to ask you a
couple of questions.
Have you ever found yourselfcontinuously asking why things
are happening to you?
Have you ever felt like givingup on your dreams because you
can't seem to catch a break?
Have you ever felt lost orunsure of the next steps on your
journey?
If you're nodding your headright now know that you're not

(01:32):
alone.
The journey of starting andrunning a business while also
balancing motherhood can be avery difficult one.
And sometimes we can'tunderstand why things are
happening to us in the moment.
And we may feel like we'refailing.
But here are a few things that Irealized recently.
The first thing is I, life isreally like a book.
Every chapter represents its ownchallenges and obstacles.

(01:55):
And while some chapters may befilled with joy and success.
Others can be hard and leave usfeeling defeated.
There are moments where you mayfeel like when is this chapter
going to be over already?
But in all reality, thesedifficult chapters are needed to
develop the character, thestrengths, the skills that will
ultimately lead us towards ourgoals.

(02:16):
And that takes me to the secondthing that I realized recently,
and that is that sometimes wehave to really embrace the
journey and have faith inourselves that our dreams for
our life and our business willcome true.
And so that's what we're goingto talk about in today's episode
is to have faith in yourself andyour journey in your life and
business.

(02:38):
So let's go ahead and getstarted.
So the first thing you can do tohave faith in yourself in your
journey is to believe in yourpurpose.
And so we all have a calling onour lives and that's the thing
that we feel we were sent downto this earth to accomplish in
this lifetime.
And this is what I refer to asyour purpose.
And one of the reasons why youmay have started your business
in the first place is to fulfillthis purpose.

(03:00):
So let your purpose be yournorth star and guide you in your
journey.
And when you believe in yourpurpose, it can inspire and
motivate you to keep going.
Even when things get tough.
So another thing you can do tohave faith in yourself is to
recognize your strengths.
So first take some time to thinkabout your accomplishments and
the skills that you possess.
And this could be things likemaybe you have a bachelor's

(03:22):
degree in business.
Or maybe you're a master ofMicrosoft office products.
For example, of course.
So grab a notebook or a piece ofpaper or your phone, basically,
anything that you have easyaccess to that you can write
down what comes up.
Make a list of your strengthsand use it as a reminder that
you are a boss, mom.

(03:43):
And you can do anything you putyour mind to, whenever you doubt
yourself.
So that takes me to my next tip.
Which is to embrace yourimperfections now.
That's easier said than done.
And especially coming fromsomeone like myself, who is a
perfectionist, but one thingthat I try to tell myself all
the time is that no one isperfect.
So instead of dwelling on yourshortcomings, Focus on improving

(04:06):
yourself and your skills.
And remember.
Progress is better thanperfection.
So now my next tip is tosurround yourself with
positivity.
Something that I'm not sure ifmost people realize is that your
environment plays a significantrole in how you feel about
yourself and how you feel aboutyour journey.
So, have you ever been aroundsomeone and you're talking to

(04:27):
them and you're telling them allthe things about your life, and
you mentioned all the thingsyou're working on on your
business, and you're just soexcited and you're happy and
you're like, you just see thesmile on your face.
And then they instantly commentwith something negative or they
compare what you're doing tosomething that someone else is
doing that they know.
And you instantly feel.
a negative emotion.

(04:49):
Being around positive people whobelieve in you just as much as
you believe in yourself willhelp you in negative.
Nancy's come around trying torain on your parade.
I remember that you have yourown path and your own timing and
you are right where you need tobe.
So that takes me to my next tip.
Which is.
Take small steps.

(05:10):
I know you may have these big, scary goals that you're working
to accomplish.
And sometimes our vision is sobig and our goals are so big.
That we become so fearful thatwe can not take any action at
all.
But when you have faith inyourself and your vision and
your goals, you learn to takeaction by taking small steps.

(05:30):
And so it was funny because Iwas watching Elmo and grouchy.
Actually with my son now theday.
And it's interesting becausethat movie came out when I was
about 10 years old or so.
And I've seen it a few timeswith like my siblings.
And for the first time, Iactually listened to the words
of the songs from theperspective of an adult.
And it has some reallymotivational material in that

(05:52):
movie.
Okay.
And one of the songs is calledtake the first step.
And this really stuck out to me.
And I'm going to sing a littlebit of the lyrics.
Apologies.
If you know my voice, isn't upto par.
You know, I did say in chorusthough, when I was in high
school, so hopefully that helpsa little bit.
Okay.
Elmo get your chin up.
Things could be worse.

(06:13):
You could have your feet stuckdown in the earth, but.
I don't see no roots growingfrom your toes, just to furry
little feet and their revenue, revenue, revenue.
Take the first step.
And soon you will see just howbrave you.
heart can be look on up.

(06:33):
To the sky and take that firststep.
And kiss your fears.
Goodbye.
It's such a catchy song.
Oh my gosh.
I love that song.
I love that whole movie ingeneral, honestly.
But the lesson that I got fromit is really just to take the
first step.
And they will help to buildmomentum and give you the
confidence you need to keepmoving forward in your journey.

(06:57):
And then that leads me to mylast tip.
Which is why you're taking smallsteps.
Celebrate your wins.
So it's important that wecelebrate our wins no matter how
small they may seem.
And when you celebrate yourwins, you see your progress in
real time.
So in those moments, when youfeel like you haven't progressed
on your goals, as fast as youlike.
You get to see how far you'veactually come and it can

(07:19):
motivate you to keep going.
All right.
So now that we've gone throughthe tips.
I'm going to put on my teacherhat.
Just for a couple of minutes.
And we're going to go through.
10 minutes or less actions, steps that you can take from
this episode.
So, what I want you to do is tolook at the five tips you got

(07:39):
today and choose one or two thatyou can take action on.
Right now, either today, tomorrow, sometime this week.
Choose the one that you resonatethe most with, or the one that
you feel you need to work on themost.
So.
Acknowledge your strengths.
Remember that.
Notebook or a piece of paper.
I asked you to make a list ofyour accomplishments and your

(08:00):
strengths.
I want you to grab that.
And now we're going to take thatlist and we're going to turn
those skills and thoseaccomplishments into
affirmations.
So for example, Maybe one of thestrengths you listed is that
you're really good at managingyour time.
So an affirmation you can writeis I am great and managing my
time and I use it wisely tocreate a life that I love.

(08:22):
And you can say theseaffirmations daily, or you can
have them with you for when youbegin to doubt yourself in your
journey.
And you can say theseaffirmations daily or can have
them for when you begin to doubtyourself and your journey.
So now for embrace yourimperfections, Your task.

(08:43):
If you want to embrace yourimperfections more is to make a
list of five to 10 areas.
Where you feel you need the mostimprovement.
And list those areas and thenrate them on a scale of one to
10.
One being the lowest and 10being the highest regarding how
comfortable you are with thatimperfection.
And this will help you identifyareas that you need to focus

(09:04):
more attention on.
And after the, this list iscreated, you can write out an
action plan for how you can workon each area and make strides
towards embracing thoseimperfections.
Now for surrounding yourselfwith positivity.
If you want to work on thatmore, your task is to make
another list.
Of three to five people.
Who you absolutely love talkingto.

(09:26):
Maybe they make you feel goodabout yourself?
Or they just always havesomething positive to say, when
you talk to them, Make a note tospeak with them, even in those
moments when you don't need aboost of positivity.
And let them be your people thatyou surround yourself with the
most.
Right for the taking the smallersteps.
Your task.
If that's your goal is to go andwatch Elmo and grassland.

(09:49):
No, I'm kidding.
Your task is to look at how youcan break down your goals into
even smaller steps.
If you look at your goals andthe tasks that you have for
them, and something just feelsvery uncomfortable in your body.
Look at ways that you can breakthem down even more and try to
take actions on them everysingle day.
And last but not leastcelebrating your wins.
If that's your task, you want towork on celebrating your wins

(10:12):
more.
Again, with the list, make alist of things that you've been
wanting to do.
Like maybe you want to go to anew restaurant or you want to
try a new brunch location, ormaybe you want to go see a movie
that just came out.
Right.
Right.
Those things that you absolutelywant to do down.
And you can also write down thethings that you love.
Like maybe you have a favoritechips or a favorite candy or a

(10:34):
favorite no chocolate bar.
And once you have your list, think about.
After you've taken the smallsteps, how you can reward
yourself.
Maybe you finally wrote thatblog post that you've been
procrastinating on.
Once it's done, you can go tothe store and you can buy your
favorite chocolate bar as areward.
And remember the way youcelebrate your wins.

(10:55):
It does not have to be a bigextravagant thing.
I'm going to say this again.
It does not have to be this bigextravagant thing.
And that's only if you want itto be right.
If you want it to beextravagant, then make it
extravagant.
But it can be the smallestthing.
Like you take your children togo get ice cream because you got
your tasks done.
So the kids get rewarded and youget rewarded at the same time.

(11:19):
All right.
My loves.
That is all I have for youtoday.
