(00:03):
Welcome. To the Moon Man for.
Fast does the moon. Actually possess such strange
powers. Pass in your seat.
Belts. It's going to be a bumpy nuts.
Moonlight is thought to transform some people into
strange creatures to drive others mad.
Ladies and. Gentlemen, we're certainly glad
to be here tonight 543210. I can't even name like.
(00:33):
OK, I can name like more than half.
Do you not remember the 50? Nifty No?
No, I don't even know where they're at.
Like if where they're at. Like if you if you show me a
map, you're like, where's North Carolina?
OK, Yeah. I wouldn't.
I wouldn't know where it's at. I know where Idaho is because
it's. Not you.
You should know that one. You should, yeah.
North Carolina? No, I don't really.
Yeah. Are you bullshitting?
(00:54):
Yeah, I'm serious. This is where.
Florida is right. Where's the man?
Pull it up. It down, it's not classroom.
You. We should not, ironically, get a
map. That would be sweet.
I know. I know how Florida it looks
like. I know how Arizona looks like.
Yeah, you haven't. You haven't.
I remember last time we had a conversation, you said you've
(01:15):
never been out of the state. Is that still the case?
No, we went to Seattle. God.
You're fucking good at this man.Holy shit he's transitioning for
us. I know for real 'cause.
You know what Eddie told him thestory.
I got flustered. Hold on.
We went to Seattle and then we went to Oregon.
Nice. That was like 2 months ago.
(01:36):
And then I, I was, I was mostly nervous with the flight.
With the flight. Yeah, because on an airplane.
No, because for some fucking reason, there, there, there,
there was all these plane crashes before we we got on the
on the plane, but the moment we came back, no more plane
crashes. Did you notice?
That. No, I just noticed you stopped
bringing it up. Well, yeah, because we we
(01:58):
survived, so that's why. Like you, I kept traveling, so
like I was like, you know, I kind of noticed it.
But yeah, he just stopped bringing it up 'cause he's, I'm
safe, I'm back home. Yeah, yeah.
And there was one in Seattle. A really big one, right?
Holy shit. Was there?
I think it was no, no, my bad. It was the other Washington, no?
Oh, DC yeah. Is that the one where the the
(02:20):
the helicopter in the plane crash?
Yeah, OK. I thought he was talking about
knowing. Is that in DC?
I I think so, yeah. Have you ever seen knowing?
Really, I don't even know eitherof you.
Who's that? Nicholas Cage.
Yeah, it's Nicholas Cage. He finds out that the world's
gonna end in, like, a couple of weeks, and he's the only person
that knows, and nobody believes him.
So he keeps, like, telling people, right?
(02:40):
Yeah. And then it turns out that
aliens knew the whole time. Is that where you got your
theory? No.
That aliens are gonna come and save us?
No. Well, aliens.
Aliens, yeah. And then they save us and.
It's no, they don't save us. The world ends regardless.
They just save. They save the kids.
Yeah, they save the kids so theyso the human population can keep
going. And ironically, their names are
Adam and Eve, the aliens. No, the kids.
(03:09):
The Alien. How was your your guys's trip?
I saw you guys went to the to the garden.
I recognized the pictures you had.
You went, you got it. Slick, Hold on.
Hold on. Hold on, hold on, hold on.
You are amazing. I don't know what you've been
doing on the YouTube channel, but you've been getting
confident. I love it.
I love it. OK, welcome back to the Moon Man
podcast, everybody. I'm your host, Evan.
(03:31):
That's your Co host Eddie. And today we're joined by two
very special guests. Very, very special.
We've been trying to plan this episode for a very long time.
You were actually a fan favorite.
I don't know if you ever told you that, really.
Yeah, I. Didn't know that.
Wait wait wait, I'm getting distracted.
We're joined today. Karen.
And Angel and I, I, I'm, I'm sorry, I always mispronounce
(03:52):
your last name. I know.
I do it all the time. Altamirano, it's OK Angel calls
me all tomatoes so. That's fucking.
Awesome. And again, by rookie pilot, the
one and only the GOAT. And I'm very, very excited to
have both of you guys on one forclout, obviously, but two years.
We're not gonna. He's not gonna sugarcoat it.
Yeah. Yeah, I think it's all a mutual
(04:12):
benefit type of thing. Here but.
But obviously because we all went to school together and then
we all ended up going in these different careers and like, you
know, you got the KM paint. Is it K dot M paints or KM
paint? KM Paint I just used the dot for
Instagram. It's cool.
It's the only way. It's like the eyes there.
Why someone took the original name?
Yeah, I wanted to just KM paint but it wasn't there, so the
(04:35):
period will do. OK, so we got the famous
campaign and the famous rookie pilot and you guys, like,
honestly, I'm glad that we can all sit here 'cause I can't
speak for him. He's not very sentimental, but
I'm not. I've been watching you guys.
I'm not gonna lie. It's.
Like just another guest. Yeah, he's.
Like who are you? Just another two people in my
room. He's like, you guys get to see
(04:57):
my. Hair, we're all in his room.
Too. Yeah, now you guys know where I
sleep. Yeah, we don't.
We don't have a studio or anything.
Yeah, but eventually one day. One day, one day.
This is cool. Trust the process.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Like we, we talked about it. I think last time we were here,
we when we first started, it wasa laptop and a Yeti microphone
and we would put everything on that hamper.
(05:18):
Yeah. And we had to like take turns
using the mic and so we would doa lot.
I love that it. Was funny and now look at us now
we got chairs, 4 mics. That grows?
Heck yeah. Yeah.
But as I was saying, I'm very glad to have you guys here.
Sorry if I look away. It's a it's a thing to help me
think because I've been kind of admiring and watching that
(05:41):
That's Eddie's mom. Don't.
Yeah. Hi, Mom.
Hi, Eddie's mom. I can't say your name, so hi
Eddie's mom. Don't start.
You do this every time I remember her name.
You don't have to question. Me.
I, I was. I was just.
You just gave me the look that you always give me, so it's OK.
It's whatever. I'm just acknowledging.
We're in. We're in a couples therapy.
Yeah. We're going through all right.
(06:01):
Like give us, give us a break. Don't feel seen a lot of times
and then you kind of just brush me to the side.
You know, you guys kind of look like therapist right now.
You look very professional, so like I'm.
Are you gonna finish? I want you to see see how you
brush me aside. I'm not making this up, people.
(06:22):
Come on man, you guys show things.
So I've been kind of watching you guys from the sidelines for
a couple of years and for a little while I didn't have any
social media, so I didn't have any way to contact you guys.
But like, you know, I heard stories and he would kind of
update me. And so it's awesome to see both
of you going on your independentjourneys and like being able to
(06:45):
do what you love, you know, and then the shops right next to
each other, like that's fucking awesome.
That's so. Sweet.
Like you guys, like I told him last time, I was like, you guys
are like my goal. I was like.
It's like. It's so awesome to see you 2
doing what you love and then being able to be together and
like love each other and power through, you know, so
congratulations to both of you. Thank you.
(07:06):
Thank you. We we realize how lucky we are
like on the daily we pull up to our shops.
We both have two different gatesand we both get off of our cars
at the same time. We open the gates at the same
time. We wave at each other while
we're unlocking the gate like wepulling to the front of our
doors while we can still see each other.
We say hi, I love you. And then we both go into our
(07:26):
shops and and yeah, I call her my my work wife 'cause.
She's really. Yeah, I'm.
The work wife, Yeah. And see, that must be awesome
for you too, 'cause you're like, see, I ain't gotta worry about
no other girls. I'm the work wife.
Oh, OK. So I don't really know where to
go from here. What?
What was your earlier? Question I how was your guys in?
Seattle there. Especially being your first time
(07:48):
out of your first time out of the state.
My funny enough, my favorite daywas when I stayed home and
watched movies. I say Airbnb.
Honestly, I'm. I'm not even gonna gonna fault
you on that because sometimes even on vacation, that's what
you have to do. Yeah, that's.
What vacations are for? That was my favorite because
they were bar hopping. And that sounds fun too.
And. Oh, we got stories.
(08:09):
We'll get into it, but go ahead. They were bar hopping and I
don't drink, so I was like, I'lljust stay home and watch movies.
I watched Paul, I watched the Ninja Turtles, I watched Fuck.
Do you? Do you remember?
I think it showed up for one of them.
You started watching. I was gonna say Paw Patrol, but
you haven't watched Paw Patrol in a few weeks.
Yeah. I.
(08:32):
Was getting addicted. I had to is.
That is that like a a thing? No, no, it's not.
It's. Not.
OK well what? I watched like 3, I watched like
3 movies while they were gone and then I think we'll save that
story a little bit later becausethey came home drunk and woke me
up while I was. Asleep.
(08:53):
Why would we save it for later? How are we going to transition
back to? This Devin threw up in the.
Scene. You could have.
Found a better way to do it. Anytime straightforward, yeah,
we just. Yeah, not.
In front of the guests. You see what I mean?
This is what our therapist is talking.
(09:14):
About I I know I I I. So how did that go?
You just got home and. Reacted too drunk.
I have been known to overdo it while partaking.
And. There are multiple videos of me
overdoing it, so to speak. Like when I used to go to more
(09:36):
house parties, there'd be, I posted one of the funnier ones
on the Instagram. It was a video of me passed out
looking at like girls who lived on my phone.
So it was like, do you know who?The muscle mommies.
Yeah, muscle mommies. And I was like, you know, that
that one's funny. But there are instances where
like I just start seeing things, are doing things that I
shouldn't have, which is part ofthe reason why I stopped, right?
(10:00):
And Seattle kind of made me recognize that.
So the group of people that we went with to try to be as brief
as possible, we don't really associate anymore.
But at the time it was really fun.
We had a lot of fun and we planned to go out drinking.
(10:20):
What was it the third night? It was like the third or fourth
night, 'cause we were there for five days, almost a week.
Wow. And that's.
A good amount of time. Yeah.
And then I think it was a fourthday because that was like when
my social battery was just completely dead, so I had to
stay home and watch way. So I think it was like the 4th
day. Yeah, so we we were all planning
on like going out and doing likea bar hopping drinking day.
(10:40):
I was like, I've never drank in Seattle before.
Like this would be awesome. I bar hopped in Tucson and
Tucson's Tucson. So, you know, you see the same
fools, you see the same. Yeah, you know.
Fights at Cobra, yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's all the same
people too. And it's like I remember you
from math class. Like it's not as fun, you know?
And I'm like, oh, wow, you you didn't wow, something happened
(11:02):
with you. I don't know.
What the fuck? Stay away from me.
Like I'm sure we've all seen some of those people, right?
I won't name names, name names this time around, but so we were
like, hey, let's go out, let's have a let's have fun.
So me, my brother and two of ourfriends, we all went out walking
around and drinking. Me and one of my friends, I'll
(11:23):
call them Bob, I gotta change that.
That's two. That's.
Two dude, just just say the name.
It's all. Right, I know who it is.
Yeah, OK. Wow.
You know. Bob, it's Robert.
Yeah. Yeah, just fucking First off.
How do you know? How do you she's all on top?
Of it what the? She does that to me all the
time. How do you?
OK, for how did you know? I'm.
Gonna beep some of this. Out well, I mean Robert, Bob,
(11:45):
I'm like, I know he was or is one of your guys's friends.
So I just, I, I put 2 together. She's quick.
She's quick, just say the name. Man, it was Rob, me, Rob and my
brother and then our jello. We all went out drinking and we
went to this little like brewerythat was down the road from our
Airbnb. I thought it was a 10 minute
walk turned into like a hour and10 minute.
(12:06):
Walk. Oh no, But.
I liked it. I was like, we get to see the
city, you know, we're hanging out.
It was in the slums. Yeah, it was in the ghetto.
Oh, OK. So I didn't know it was the
ghetto I was. Like, yeah, their their ghetto
is like Midvale for a sort of like the north side.
OK, Yeah. I mean, I guess an hour walk in
Seattle is different than an hour walk around here.
Yeah. You can't walk for for now,
we're here like downtown. No downtown or anywhere.
(12:29):
Yeah, and like, so I was enjoying it.
We were having fun. Apparently we saw a fridge in
the middle of nowhere. I still don't remember that.
I don't. Don't look at me.
I wasn't there. I don't.
Know that's, that's one of the lighter stories I'm trying to
make this quick because I can, Ican talk and I'm trying not to.
So we get to the the brewery, weall start drinking and then I
think we all end up walking. We got a Uber back.
(12:50):
We got an Uber back after we each had like 5 or 6 beers and
they were Ipas, they were drafts.
So we were all kind of like filling in a little bit, right?
We get back to the hotel, we start sobering up and then a
couple of us keep drinking and he's all annoyed because we are
coming home buzzed already and. Drunk.
Oh yeah, yes, I'm pretty sure you guys been there sober.
The only if you're the only sober person around.
(13:11):
Drunk people. The drunk people are annoying.
Yeah, yeah. So that's what they were.
And then if you were napping. No, it was like 11 PMI was done
for the. Day.
Not that point when we came. Oh, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, you were still watching.
Yeah, he was. On Paw Patrol.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the second movie.
Yeah, Sorry, my bad, my bad. I was getting ahead of myself
(13:32):
because I was. I'm reliving when they barged
into my room. It's.
All right, it's OK. I swung on his brother because
that that night when they bargedinto my room.
So I, I have a snippet of it that I posted in my last mission
log, but I'll post it here at the end of this episode so
everybody can hear it and we talk about it.
And so it'll just be a nice little recap to this whole
(13:52):
story. So we get back and we started
drinking some of the beers that we had bought.
And so my brothers changing and I think Jello was changing.
And then as Jello was changing, he decided that he didn't feel
like going downtown with us anymore because we were just in
the slums and we were going to drive to downtown Seattle and go
drinking out there, right? And so once he decided that he
(14:13):
didn't want to go and he was like agreeing to be the DD,
we're like OK, we're just going to Uber.
So then when my brother was ready, me, Rob, and my brother,
we hop into an Uber. Me and Rob were already
drinking. So I still at this point I'm
like 7 beers in, but I'm like sober because for whatever
reason if I drink without eating, I can drink more than if
I do eat. I don't know how that works.
(14:34):
I think it's because my metabolism is already going when
I eat. So then the alcohol hits me
faster. So when I'm not eating, it just
sits there, which is bad becauseat some point lights turn off
and I start, I stop remembering.And so I wasn't being very wise
with my decisions. And I was actively telling
everybody that I didn't want to be wise with my decisions.
(14:56):
And everybody was in support of that.
They're like, yeah, it's vacation, let's have fun.
And I'm telling them all the stupid things that I want to do.
I want to go and have sex with these people.
I want to go and do that. I want people.
Plural. I was.
Like, hey, it's in Seattle. Get weird, right?
Nothing's normal in Seattle. I am.
I'm like, I'm heartbroken right now, let's get lit.
And I was like, just I was in that mindset, right?
(15:19):
So we get to this is where. So I don't remember any of the
night. That's how fucked up I got.
But I'll try to paraphrase the best, the best that I can.
So we get to like the first bar,and I do remember this one.
It was a gay bar. We didn't know it was a gay bar.
No disrespect to gay bars, but we got a preface.
So I get to the gay bar and you know I'm looking cute.
(15:39):
I did my hair I. Have my earrings.
On I feel good, you know, so I was getting a lot of attention
and I've been told by some of mygay friends that, like, it's
part of the fantasy to turn a straight guy gay and especially
a shorter, cute straight guy. And I'm like, oh, and once I
realized where we were, I was like, I can get us free drinks,
(16:02):
but. I don't.
I don't know if I'll be able to.I don't know if I'll be able to.
Take it for the team. I don't want to wake up sore.
I don't want to explain that to my family.
I said take one for the. Team not take it for the team.
Oh, my head, I was. Trying to.
Find the worst. I was like, if my friends
(16:23):
abandoned me, like this is what's happening.
I was like, at least I hopefullyhe's gentle, you know, he
strokes my hair. He calls me pretty at the very.
Least stroking something. Oh shit.
So I was like, I just got to be on my toes and I'm pretty sure I
this was the running joke because after this bar I don't
(16:45):
remember anything. So I was wondering if somebody
actually did spike my drink because we were we, I wasn't
really checking drinks and I've never really had to.
But this made me more cautious of that.
Like if I ever did start drinking again, because
literally like I had a mixed drink, it was liquor.
And they personally handed mine to me, which I didn't think
nothing of, but they just had everybody else's their drinks.
(17:06):
So then we drink that somehow mybrother gets talked into dancing
with the random black lady that was just hanging out there.
Super tall, deep voice black lady probably.
And I'm not body shaming again, just prefacing like maybe 2 to
300 lbs Huge, like just enormouspresence, right.
(17:26):
And they're just, you know, fucking dancing and doing fun.
Yeah, just in the middle of the of our little section.
And it wasn't like, you know, itwas like, what's what's the,
what's they were swaying. They were what's?
Do you guys know they were waltzing?
Waltzing. There he goes.
(17:48):
What? Yep.
Yeah, waltzing in the club and like, I think it was My Chemical
Romance or The Killers was it? So it's all, you know, like
they're playing like nice music, but that's not waltz music,
dude. These guys are dancing like it's
the 20s, OK? OK, I thought the club was
playing waltz. Music.
No. Welcome to the conversation.
(18:09):
Thank you. For having me.
They. Were playing killers of the back
out of the club and these guys are waltzing and I'm watching
this like this is getting weird. And then somehow I get talked
into doing some karaoke so that me and Rob, you know, go up on
stage and we're doing karaoke and he he wanted to do Bleed It
(18:30):
Out by Linkin Park. And that's funny because I'm
wearing the Linkin Park shirt right now, and it's because he
loves that song and he loves doing the rapping section of
that song, and I like singing that.
Section of the song. But I told him, like, hey, when
we drove to Portland the other day, I shot my voice like, I
Can't Sing right now. My voice is all fucked up.
And he goes, that's fine. Nobody cares.
Nobody cares. We're never going to see these
(18:52):
people again. I was like, yeah, but like, I
can't, I Can't Sing well. And he's all, let's just go up
there, brother. Let's just have fun.
I was like, fine, fuck it. So the like, for 30-40 minutes,
I'm shaking because I'm thinkingabout it.
I was like preparing my voice and warming up my voice and
drinking water and making sure like I was ready to go.
And we went up there and of course, you know, every person
(19:14):
in the bar is looking at us because a couple people went up
and they did amazing. Some people didn't do amazing,
but when we went up, they're like up the target's up there.
And so everybody's looking and I'm seeing all these dudes.
And one guy actually winked at me and I was like, oh, this is
weird. I don't want to be here.
Like guys, I'm not comfortable. Pineapple, pineapple.
Like somebody saved me. And I was like, OK, fuck it,
let's do it. Don't look at the crowd.
So then he's already drunk, drunk.
(19:36):
Like he's feeling it. He's telling us guys I'm drunk.
So he starts singing the song and he's doing the raps, but
he's like going at 1.25 speed and the song's playing at normal
speed. So.
He's like, here we go for the 100th time on your main pins and
every light. And I'm like oh, fuck.
And he's like, oh shit, oh fuck,I'm fucked up.
OK, wait, hold on. And he's talking in the middle
(19:57):
of the song. And then he goes and he catches
himself and he's getting into it, but he's talking as he's
rapping when he should just be rapping.
And so then he threw me off. And then he goes take it away.
And then he like, passed it to me.
And then I'm like, oh fuck, I play.
Yeah, my fucking ticket. Yeah, exactly.
And then instantly, instantly, on the first fucking note, my
voice just went and it like died.
(20:18):
So instead of being able to likeget the rumble and the like
croak that I wanted, I was like.I was like fuck, I guess all the
way. I was like, I Can't Sing.
I was like, I told him I Can't Sing.
And all the. Guys are looking at me and I
don't wanna. Be.
Where's Eddie? You're breaking down, having a
panic attack with me watching Paul.
(20:40):
He's like. Eddie's watching Paw Patrol.
He's like, oh, this is a good episode.
I'm with Jello, we're watching Paw Patrol.
I think you guys are watching SpongeBob, weren't you?
Oh, I think it was SpongeBob. It probably.
Was ironically SpongeBob becauseJello loves SpongeBob.
So that's happening while they're just hanging out, right?
And I get so embarrassed. I was like, we need to leave.
(21:01):
We need to leave. And like, we get down and like
some of the some of the guys chilling at the bar are like,
yeah. And they're like patting me on
the back and I'm like, I got to go.
I got to go. I don't want to try to stay
here. Like I don't feel safe.
What time was it? Pineapple at this point?
It was probably like at 9:30. So it's like everybody's
starting to show up. And I had talked to the the the
(21:21):
Hostess there and she recommended a couple of other
bars. So now I'm going to start speed
running the story a little bit. So we start bar hopping around
and in the process of bar hopping, we meet a lot of crazy
individuals. We meet two homeless guys.
One of them was from Egypt and one of them was from California.
And I just started talking to them.
I didn't care that they had urine on themselves because I
(21:42):
was drunk, you know, I didn't care that there was flies in
their hair. Like they were cool.
So I'm bullshitting with them. I'm talking to them and I'm
talking to them like I'm a homeless dude too.
So they're like dapping me up and I'm like hugging them.
And I'm like, oh, I shouldn't have done that.
And like one of them had a dog and we had gone into like a
liquor store and I bought a sandwich and I hated the
sandwich. So I'm like you.
Gave it to the dog and. I was like, here you go, buddy.
(22:04):
And like the homeless man is yelling at me and I was like,
I'm feeding your dog. And so so like, I'm like, I'm
getting to that point where I'm like, people need to watch me.
So then Rob starts sobering up and starts trying to watch me.
Then we get to the final club. And then this is like where most
of the stories derive from. So while we're at this club, I
made friends with the like a whole group of black and they
(22:25):
just like accepted me into theircult.
And so then I was one of them. And we're all, we're all hanging
now. We're all talking, we're all
bullshitting. They're buying drinks and like
we're trying to go deeper into the club and like go to secret
sections and like, I think I fell on the stairs at one point
and like the bartender like noticed us and they noticed us
being rowdy. So then they were like, hey, you
(22:46):
guys are cut off. We're not going to give you any
more drinks. And I was like, what the fuck?
You mean you're not going to give us anymore?
And then the the guy I was with,he's like, hey, bro, chill.
It's not worth it. I was like, Nah, fuck that shit.
I was like, let's. Shoot this place.
Oh damn. Oh.
No, I always. Say stupid shit, right and they
didn't believe me so like they just escort us out so then me
and the guy are staying outside he's like man, why'd you have to
(23:06):
get like that? I'm.
Sorry. I was like, I got a lot on my
plate right now. He's like, Nah, I get it.
We're like consoling each other. And I'm talking to the the
security guard out there and he's like talking to his work
wife who like pulls up. So that's funny you guys brought
that up because he actually had a work life and they like
they're scared about it. Oh, OK, no.
They're a real work life, yeah. I'm a real work wife.
(23:28):
Well, that's, that's that's that's personal.
If you want to bring that on to the show, do we need to beat
Eddie? Do we need to beat that out?
I don't look at me, I'm over here to the side.
Hey, OK, I don't. I'm just making sure.
Like I didn't know if that was beep worthy.
I don't think so. OK, Eddie says it's good.
We think we just. He's the sensor.
(23:51):
He'll tell me like Devin Beep that.
Out. Thanks, Eddie.
Yeah, you will. We beeped out your N word from
last time. Say so if you wanna say that.
I'm not saying the N word. If you want to say the N word
again, you're OK. Again, what do?
You think? So just let one out for the one.
Time no wasn't it Bork is that kept saying the N?
(24:11):
Word. I think it was Bork.
Yeah, it was boring. That must that must be a lot of
work in pose. I tell them beforehand, I'm
like, hey bro, I know this is your culture.
This is who you hang out with onthe show.
I don't do it. I was like, you know, people
might see what you look like andthen realize.
You don't really got the. Pass.
Like you're Mexican, but you don't really look human like so
(24:32):
you don't got human. That's why I always tell them
it's a joke. We love you, Marquez.
I love you, Marquez. You're my favorite guy in the
whole world. You need you need to text me
back. I got AI got a story on Borquez.
Borquez is a real one for real. So we I shared a class with him
and Mr. Escalantes and it was anauto body class short.
(24:53):
Sorry. But anyway, me, me, Borquez,
Mondo Roth, we would all hang out Abel and there's one time we
were playing, there was a, a section in the back of the class
where it had a spray booth and nobody can see.
There was no cameras, no teachers or anything.
And we were all playing soccer with brooms.
So what the fuck I'm like. Expecting fights, drugs or sex
(25:16):
and you're all we're playing. Soccer there was like 10 of us
playing, playing with the soccerball and brooms and just
smacking it with the brooms. And this one, this one time I, I
went to swing at the ball. Fuck snap the snap the the broom
in half snapped it into pieces. And I was like, oh crap,
Escalante's going to be pissed. And Orcas grabs the broom and he
(25:37):
goes, he goes to Escalante and he's like, yo, Fernando broke it
so. No.
Right away, Mr. Escalante just starts fuming on Fernando and
Fernando was just so confused that he didn't know what to say.
He never, they never knew who really did it, but Bork is just,
he just threw that out there. That wasn't even planned or
anything. He just threw it out there and
(25:58):
Escalante never told me anythingand he just reeled out Fernando.
So you've been living with this?Built all the time.
It's your time to shine, yeah? I I'm barely letting this story
out to the. Public, you know what, that
that's true. Bork is like, he's a real one.
I've known Bork for going on like 16 years now, something
like that. Like I met him really, really
young and he's he's always been like that.
(26:20):
And that's why, like, I love him.
And he didn't even tell me or I didn't tell him, like put the
blame on somebody. He just did it.
Honestly, I don't know. I for as long as I've known him,
I have no idea why he did that. Like a.
Mystery I bought. Something got possessed by him
or something possessed him to dothat, Yeah.
Yeah, I, I. I don't know, maybe.
And I just remember us going to being like this, like we can't
(26:41):
have nice shit because they're always breaking everything.
And I was like, fucking Fernando.
See, that's what stuff you. Don't.
Oh, wait, I'm they're going to be pissed if I don't mention the
wizard. So let me finish the story real
quick, Real quick. No, no, no, I'm sorry.
I don't mean to distract. So we're at the bar, work, life,
(27:01):
all that crap, whatever. At some point, this guy in a
full wizard costume, like walks up.
Maroon wizard had war war Cape and then a wand and he like
walks up and me being intoxicated and being the
asshole that I normally am I like start making fun of him.
But he like, realized how drunk I was and he was like, hey, you
(27:22):
better stop being mean. I'm going to make your beep be
small. And I was like, no, you're.
Like too late. I had told him like I'm already
struggling a little. Bit harder.
Then he was like, all right, allright, then you better chill
out. And then he goes, you know what,
You're actually cool. He's oh, don't come to the club
tomorrow. I'm going to cast a spell on
this. Bitch, Oh my God.
And I was like, wait, what? You're like warning us.
(27:43):
He's like, I'm gonna cast a spell on this motherfucker, so
don't come over here and. We're like.
Okay. And then he walked into the
club, was in there for like maybe a minute.
He doesn't know. I don't know why I'm.
Looking Yeah, I. Walked in there for maybe a
minute. I'm hearing this story for the
first time too. Really.
And it came out with like one ofthe most beautiful women like
any of us had ever seen. And she's just standing there.
(28:04):
And then they get into a car anddisappeared to the night.
And then afterwards I was like, where the where did the car come
from? Did he conjure the car?
Was that for actually magic? Like, did we meet a real wizard?
And then that's when I went homeand then I vomit in the the sink
and I don't remember. That, yeah.
And then Eddie. I woke I I was the first one to
wake up in the morning. It was like 7 AM 8:00 AM the.
Only sober one. Well, Jello too, sort of.
(28:27):
And the house we were at was twostories.
So me, Devin and Rob were on thesecond story, Jello and his
brother in the first. In the first story I come out
decide to use a restroom and I just see this puddle of throw up
just in the sea in the morning. So for like so drunk.
(28:48):
OK, I wasn't aware of what was happening.
For for six hours, it was just sitting there, just brewing up.
Please don't judge me, I hate that he ventured this first.
It was just brewing, brewing up.So I just closed the door and
used the the bathroom downstairs.
So I waited till everybody woke up and I'm like, who the fuck
threw up in the bathroom? And I'm like, oh, it was Rob.
(29:11):
I know I heard I overheard Rob saying something about throw up.
And that's when we started piercing the freaking puzzles
together and we're like, oh, it's Devin who threw up in the
bathroom. Were you awake at this point?
So I woke up dead. I shouldn't have been awake.
He can attest to it. So that day we had a drop off
the rental car that we got for our trip and since I was the
only one. Who?
(29:33):
Of the age to rent the car, I had to be there to fucking
return it. And so I was like, somebody go
for me. I I can't.
Go like. I was laying on his lap and he
was like petting my head and I was like.
What a good friend, yeah. For real, I did.
Were were you the one that cleaned up everything?
No, I it was Rob. Rob.
Rob got a plastic bag I got. To shake Rob, you didn't even
(29:54):
clean your own throne. I would do.
I was just, I was dead like I would have.
And I told him like, you can leave it, I'll clean it, yada
yada. No, that's a lie.
I'm just trying to seem nice. I, I told her I was like, guys,
I can't do it. I'll throw up again.
And and I knew it was him too, because there was a trail going
from his room to the bathroom because his room was right in
(30:15):
front of the bathroom, like tinychunks.
And I'm like, it was Devin. It's like when you're holding it
in with your. I think I'm pretty sure that's
how it went down my. Fucking brother doxed me.
So apparently we came home all intoxicated, all excited because
we just met a wizard and then I was speaking Japanese to some
random dude. That's a whole other part of it.
(30:36):
I don't know enough Japanese to hold a full-fledged conversation
so I don't know what I was saying when I was drunk.
I have no idea what I told this man, but apparently we had a
full back and forth for about 4-5 minutes and completely in
Japanese so nobody knew what we were saying, including me.
So I I don't know, I could have insulted his whole culture.
Like I don't even know if he wasJapanese.
It doesn't matter. And we came back.
(30:59):
And so instantly, we all go to Eddie's room because our
favorite pastime is to piss Eddie off.
This is after the bar. This is yeah, they they already
got home and it and when it was like 11:00 PM so and.
They go into your room at the Yeah, this is the first stop.
Yeah, because, because, Because I was.
(31:19):
I was. I was with Jello.
Me and Jello were the only ones home and I'm like Joe, I think
I'm going to call. He's like alright, I'm going to
go down to my room and like cool.
So I hear the door bursts open. I'm like please please please
not my room. Fucking first person to walk in
was Rob. Rob jumps on my bed and then
that's where I almost swung at at Devon's brother because I saw
(31:43):
a just a black shadow coming towards me.
I was half asleep and I just fucking swung at him and I'm
like oh it's him. So I just cover myself in the
blank and then Rob started cuddling me and I didn't know
Devin was there because I was hiding in my blankets.
Yeah, I kind of remember us. Like, I remember, like trying to
(32:03):
punch you in the ass. And I was like, yeah, hey, yeah.
And I was like kidding you, but like I heard the story
afterwards like the first time and he like, I guess, woke up.
And was like everybody and. I went to a crowd of.
Three. Yeah, yeah, A.
Drunk crowd of three. So you're like, fuck these guys.
They made their decision, right? You're like kicking them.
(32:25):
So yeah, that was that was the whole story.
I bought. And then I guess I went to the
bathroom and threw up in the sink and clogged the whole sink
and then went to my room. And so when I woke up the next
morning, I was pissed. I was like, did that.
I was like, what the fuck? I started crashing out on
everybody. I was like, you're nasty
motherfuckers, you, I can't go anywhere with you.
I was crashing out and then my brother woke up and he's the one
(32:48):
that docks me. He goes, bro, who's you?
And I was like, what? He's like, yeah, like we none of
us went to the bathroom. You're the only one that went to
the bathroom. And then you went to your room.
And then I saw the scene full ofvomit, and I asked you, yo, did
you throw up? You're like, yeah, I threw up in
the toilet. And I was.
Like threw up in the. Scene.
I was like, no, it wasn't. He goes look at your shirt.
(33:09):
I looked down and the whole timeyelling and everyone I could see
a little like I was like fuck. You're all actually, it's not
that bad, guys. I was like, I was First off, I'm
sorry. Second off, I think you're over
exaggerating. I mean, it's not even that much.
It's like maybe. It's all clogged out.
Come on. Oh man.
So that's why that's part of thereason why I don't drink
(33:29):
anymore. That's Seattle trip.
That was how long ago? Two months ago it was in March
2. Months ago, it wasn't too bad.
Yeah, I I knew instantly you guys were up there because I saw
you guys at the Japanese garden and we had gone there too.
The Portland one, right? Yeah, in Portland, Yeah.
Really. When?
So when did you guys go? Let's get off of us, because
you're the guest here. Oh, that was when COVID was
(33:49):
barely a thing because we still had to wear masks.
And there wasn't really like a lot of people, a lot of like the
little houses, like the tea houses that they had.
Yeah, they were, they were empty.
What? I mean, it was so pretty.
But that would probably be the best time to go because there's
like. A fuck ton of.
People there and they're just like, don't get me wrong, I love
taking pictures of stuff, but itwas to the point where they
(34:11):
weren't even looking at the garden.
They were just looking at their phones.
And I was getting annoyed. So I made it a point to put my
phone away and I'm like, take your picture, put your phone
away and just enjoy it. So your guy's a strip.
Must have been fucking sweet. You're like, wow, there's no.
Fucking people. What time of the year did you
guys go? I think we usually we've gone
every year for the past four years in July.
(34:31):
We usually go like in July. Wait, wait, wait.
You go to the Japanese garden every.
Single year. No, no, no to Portland.
Well, to the Portland. Oregon, Washington area
Northwest. So you guys, you guys, have you
been to Seattle before? We just went last year.
Yeah, it was our first time. Yeah, we well, first time in
Washington. First time.
Legitimate. Washington, yeah, 'cause we when
(34:52):
we went to Portland, we went to Washington to go visit a casino,
'cause my friends love casinos so.
We didn't even know it was in Washington.
Like we just looked up Agps and then we're like, oh, oh crap.
Like we're in Washington right now.
They didn't even tell us they were like, yeah, we're going to
a casino that's nearby. I didn't know we're crossing.
Nearby. You're like, wait, there's
fucking border. Before we're almost in Canada
(35:14):
yeah that trip was crazy though,'cause they always make me the
driver in in all the trips and we had like 8 people, eight
people with us and. That makes sense though, you're
the car guy. Yeah, I guess, yeah.
But it it's not always fun. No.
Trust make you drive. They made me drive the whole
trip over there and I, I don't know, maybe you feel the same
way 'cause I know you're, you have a fear of heights.
(35:36):
I fucking hate heights. We talked about this last time
and I hate driving on heights. And if you're you, you guys
remember the Portland Bridge going into the fucking city?
Oh yeah. I couldn't drive that I had.
To switch out. I was like, I'm not.
Nope, I'm not. Yeah.
I was like, I'm not fucking doing that.
I could be in the middle lane inthe center, and I was like, I'm
not doing. What do you what do you feel
though? Like you feel like the.
(35:57):
I feel like I'm dying. I feel like I shouldn't be here.
Like my hands get all sweaty. I was like having a panic
attack. I was like, I can't do it.
And short people and heights don't go together, man, Come on.
So like I was closing my eyes. I was like, let me know when
we're there and they're like hitting me and rolling down the
windows. And I was like, you guys are
asshole stuff. Oh yeah, even we Did you guys go
to the pier like where the public market is?
No, we didn't. No.
(36:19):
Well, on the pier there's a Ferris wheel.
We made his ass get on that Ferris wheel hold.
On, hold on, we will get to that.
But you were in the middle of a story we got to be better about.
That sorry, sorry. You guys are good.
I feel like all this ties in with your, your experience and
our experience because I mean, if you guys tell us whatever you
did, we likely have seen it or vice versa.
See, that's cool that you guys at least know enough to like,
(36:40):
know what I'm talking about. Yeah, yeah.
So anyway, there were, we had like 8 people with us, which we
usually do. We have a lot of people on
vacation because it's it's a lotof us, my parents, my nephew, my
two sisters, Karen. They're significant others.
They're significant others. It's a lot of us anyway, when we
went to that casino in, in, in Seattle, it, you know, obviously
(37:02):
it rains a lot in Seattle and inPortland.
And it was raining heavy that day and we were driving back
like at midnight. So I couldn't see anything
because it was dark and I couldn't see anything because it
was because it was raining so hard, dude.
And I'm just in, I'm in control of this van with eight souls on
it. And I'm like, and it's a van.
It's a big ass van. I'm like, bro, I can't see shit
(37:25):
and I'm driving. I'm going like 60 miles an hour
and I can't see a thing. Did you tell him that?
Did you tell him how like? No, I didn't want them to freak.
Out. I think everyone was like
panicking already just because it was really heavy rain.
Like you could barely see out the window.
Think anybody was even talking but.
Everybody locked in. Yeah, it was so loud.
So there was just like. Yeah, dude, I was like, I would
(37:46):
try to blink harder, but it wasn't making the rainbow any
more weight. Yeah, but that was, that was
scary. Yeah.
But that was my story. But no, I honestly feel that
because I drive so much for workthat they were like, hey, you're
gonna be the driver. And I was like, you know what, I
don't really trust any of you fools to drive anyway, so I'm
(38:07):
gonna do it cuz they're all bad drivers.
He had just got his license, no shade, and he had just got his
first car. So I was like, I'm not gonna
make Eddie do it. It's a whole new territory.
And I was like, Rob can drive, but he's adamant about not
driving and nobody else I trust. So I was like, I'll do it.
And the entire time I was freaking out because I was like,
dude, like, because especially in Seattle, like it's all
(38:30):
highways and freeways out there,I was like, we have one and it
goes One Direction. Yeah, like 17.
And somewhere to go underground.Yeah, yeah, there's.
Tunnels. I'm like, what do you do with
tunnels? I've never seen tunnels before.
And then they got the express lanes and then the regular
lanes. And then the HOV, I'm like we
can get at HOV, right? They're like, I wouldn't, I
don't know how that. Works.
(38:51):
What do you? Do.
Don't do it. Like look at the fines.
I was like, I don't want to pay those fines.
I can't. Afford that shit.
I was like, OK, we'll just stay here.
So like, it sucked. I feel your pain, especially at
night too, because then we're going to places I've never been
and I'm like, where the fuck? Like at least I know a little
bit of the downtown now and likeyou got you.
Did you go to downtown Seattle? Did you walk around like the big
(39:13):
city area? Not no.
We just, we went to drive by theneedle, the Space Needle.
OK, but we didn't even go on. We didn't.
Get off. Really we just, I think we were
just passing by and were we at this, at the museum, at that?
.0 Yeah, yeah, that's why we went to Seattle.
Yeah, we went to Seattle becausewe we went to the Museum of
(39:35):
Flight. I think that's what it's called.
It's just a a big aviation museum.
But then we'll pilot here. Yeah, I, I don't even remember
what it was called. I had filmed a video on it, but
I never posted it. What?
Yeah, it's 'cause I something happened.
It's hard. It's like hard to vacation and
record and then like you're still like brainstorming ideas
(39:55):
on like, how do I keep this video going?
And then it's like, how do I enjoy it's?
Yeah, it's how do you find that balance of too much on the Cam,
too much like or enjoying it in person?
Or like not enough footage? But one thing the thing we've
started to realize is every vacation we've gone to, we
always regret, heavily regret not filming anything because
then it's just, it's just memories that are going to fade
(40:18):
away. And the one vacation she filmed
and edited and posted was a Disneyland vacation.
And we love watching that video because it just sums up the
whole experience in a way that our brain couldn't.
Remember, Oh my God, you guys are so good at fucking bringing
up stuff for us to talk about. It's like, have you done this?
I know you've done this one. Have you done this before?
Have you done on any podcast? No.
(40:39):
Do you? Listen.
To a lot of podcasts. I do I do.
I'm a podcast listener. See.
OK, that's awesome. See you're making my job easier.
I appreciate I got a couple different ways to transition
that, but I'll start with this. So like editing wise, like I'm
pretty sure you guys are self-taught, right?
Or did you take any classes or you just kind of started picking
(41:00):
it up and learning from what youhad, right?
Yeah, all self-taught. Yeah, pretty much.
Who did it first? Between these two, who did what?
Who did it first? Like editing?
Yeah. I think it's been it's like the
same but we just to had different paths with it.
It's kind of hard to like a lot of like middle school, like I
think of being like with my like, do you guys know Savannah?
(41:21):
Like we'd, I'd always be at her house.
Yeah. Savannah.
Hi, Queen. Yeah, Like, all the time at her
house. Like, we'd always just be making
videos like, that was like the past time.
Like, it's like, oh, let's make a video on this.
Or it's. I have all the cringy videos on
Facebook still. They're private now.
But I've always, I don't know, anything with, like, a computer,
a laptop and a camera. I'm always like, I'm in, let's
(41:41):
do it. That's awesome, Did you take
Duddleston's class? No, I've never taken a media
class or anything like that. I've always just liked it.
I don't know. I can, I can feel that because
I, I tried to do YouTube at multiple different points in my
life and I think the, the first time I did, I was like 10 and I
was like trying it and I, I, I have to beep out the name, but
(42:03):
I'll tell you guys. So I want to make Minecraft.
Oh cool. I couldn't think of a cool
Minecraft name and for whatever reason my fucking dumb 10 year
old brain was like why don't youcall yourself?
Shit. I.
Didn't know the context of the Holocaust at all.
That, yeah. I'll have to leave that in.
(42:24):
Don't try to find the channel. I looked the other day, it's
like gone. Please, I don't need to see
those videos. Gee, you posted.
Yeah, I had, I had like 30 videos on that Channel.
I bet you I could find it. Was it like gameplay?
It was gameplay. I recorded it all on my iPhone,
iPhone, iPod touch. I got an iPod touch that
Christmas. It was the only thing I got, but
(42:44):
I was super happy so I started making videos on it.
I found like software. I jail broke it.
I found software to like record with.
So kind of like similar to you guys just using what you had and
a taint and I was like, man, this sucks.
I'm not doing this. No more than like three years
later I started again and it wasbased more off of Jose cuz Jose
had his own YouTube channel and he was doing his whole thing.
(43:07):
What? What was his YouTube?
Channel name, do you remember? I think it was like call me
mercs, I or call me mercs. That's what I wanted to say but
I feel like call me mercs is another.
YouTube. Yeah, me too.
Jose Mendoza. No, no, Jose Guzman.
Guzman. Oh, OK, OK.
Did you guys know he had a YouTube channel?
I didn't. He.
He. For a little while there, he was
getting pretty well known. I think he got up to 1000
(43:30):
subscribers at the time, and everybody was like, holy shit,
wholesale made it like him. And my friend Mario Tamayo,
before he moved to Mexico, they both had YouTube channels.
And so that inspired me to like try doing it again.
And I just couldn't. I couldn't get into it because
they were roasting my videos allthe time and I got insecure.
So I was like, I couldn't do it.It's hard, it really is,
(43:50):
especially with today's society.I mean, the roasters, they pay
you anyway because they watched your video.
That's true. Like when you start out, you
don't realize that. So like when when you were
starting your YouTube channel because you started like I want
to say, right around high school.
Time seven years ago. Yeah, I think so.
Yeah, I. Maybe right after high school.
Yeah, I think so. I don't, I don't really.
(44:11):
Yeah, cuz I got the must the first.
No, the second Mustang I had that's the one I started filming
videos with and that was like roughly 2018 or 2000.
No 2019 ish. Yeah, that was around the first
time. So I can't imagine cuz we talked
about this last time and I'm sure you can attest, but like
(44:31):
everybody that I've ever come across that like knows you never
has anything bad to say. So I can't imagine you were
getting a lot of hate comments, but did you receive any like as
you're starting out? I did, I did.
And most, most of my feedback and things like that are never
from people up until now aren't really from people that I know.
(44:53):
Cuz I mean, like when I started out, most, most of my friends or
acquaintances or high school peers, I mean, I'm pretty sure
they wouldn't, they wouldn't watch the videos.
It was just, oh, this another person trying to do YouTube,
which which it was and obviouslystill I am, but it was mostly
older, older people, random people.
I I think I remember one guy saying that why would I trust
(45:14):
anything from a person that's younger than the age of my tires
which. What's up?
Which by the way, you have to change your tires every five
years, so. I was literally thinking like
what the hell. Is he talking about?
Yeah, but obviously some of those things do do get to me.
But I mean, that comment, I was just like, bro, change your
tires at this point. But it's, I mean, to this day, I
(45:39):
still have, I still have comments of that, of that kind
of thing where it's an older person being like, well, I have
like 50 years plus of experienceon you.
What makes you think you're so good to, to try to teach people
on this subject? And my response is always like,
well, I never said I was a professional doing this, but I
did it. And it's, it's proven because
(46:00):
it's, it's here and it's working.
So whether whether you like it or not, I did it and people are
going to learn from this video. Oh oh.
That was a fucking bar Eddie quote that shit, put that shit
on the shirt so. Let's go back I.
We're gonna make a tic tock out of that.
I don't know if you saw but lasttime you're on we we made a
TikTok out of one of your clips.Did you?
(46:20):
I? I think I did.
Moderately, well, I mean moderate in terms of US.
I think you got like 800 or something views so I posted it.
Yeah, yeah. And Instagram's pretty tricky
sometimes. Yeah, and I I guess the same
applies to you. So as you were starting out,
because I remember you selling paintings back in high school.
Yeah. Starting middle school.
Yeah. So like did you, I mean, because
(46:41):
especially like do you feel likethere's a lot of women who are
judgmental or like jealous even or like kind of pray on your
downfall or is it like a lot of support?
I mean, not even narrowing it down to just women, I mean
anyone you know can be the jealous type, but it ultimately
is just like up to you as a person and just trying to like
(47:02):
accept what you do and why you do it.
So I mean, if you like somethingthat should be like the main
reason why you do it and not because you're thinking of like
anyone else, you know what I mean?
I mean, in what I do, there is like a lot of girls I've known
who do like the crafty stuff andit can get a little competitive.
But I mean, I've made good friends out of it too.
(47:24):
So it's just like blocking out the haters, honestly.
So did you. I don't, I don't mean to just
tie it down to women, but like in my own experience, again,
watching you guys on the sideline, I noticed that a lot
of women really seem to support you and like follow your stuff.
And every time I look at your page, it's always like, you have
that the support of them, you know?
And so that's why I'm like, well, if it's going to come from
(47:46):
anywhere, it probably come from, you know, your own supporters
sometimes. Yeah, I mean, I would hope if
they're following me, you know, it's because they like what I
do. And it's no like malintent, but.
But yeah, I mean, the support isawesome.
It's cool to see who like actually does support.
And sometimes it's like more strangers than people, you know?
Really. Yeah, that's like most of the
(48:08):
support. So since yours is like a little
bit more business focused, not that yours is I'm.
Just yeah. Not yet.
Where would have you noticed that you see more support like
in town or like out of town? Well at first when I started cuz
campaign started just like me making paintings and that was
just like for fun. I worked at Old Navy for like 6
(48:28):
years. Yeah so I was just doing that on
the side and for fun and for anime conventions.
My sister-in-law is the one thatinvited me to my first anime
convention so I got to sell them.
But I'm sorry, what was your question?
Yeah, for real, I don't. Know go.
Into that cuz that's how you got.
Your journey, yeah. With that, with the convention.
(48:49):
So here let me phrase it like this, like you were kind of
setting it up. How did you start and how did it
transform into what it is now you know?
Again, so I was at Old Navy, I was doing paintings for fun, the
anime conventions. I think the anime conventions
was like the first time I saw like, wow, I'm making these
paintings and I can make money off of it.
So that's when I started to do commissions again, still
(49:11):
balancing Old Navy and then I found out what a cricket was.
Do you guys know what a cricket is?
The cricket, yeah. Like the sport?
A cricket. The phone service.
There's a lot of crickets. You can't just say.
The cricket I'm talking about islike a vinyl cutter.
It's just a cutter. Cuts, paper cuts vinyl, whatever
(49:33):
you feed into it, it'll cut. Not everything though.
But yeah, I got one of those machines and I got into like
vinyl, started making like little stickers for cups.
And that's when I'm like, oh, like I'm not just doing
paintings now, I'm doing cups. That's sweet.
But then from there, I kind of, I've just opened a can of worms
honestly. And I started to like realize I
could make so many things again. This is kind of going into like
(49:55):
COVID now. So then that's when TikTok
started booming. So of course, I like cameras and
videos and stuff like that. So I started to do like videos
of my projects and stuff like that.
And I started just to see like afollowing.
So I kept doing it. I was super excited.
And then, yeah, so then I created campaign and that was
(50:18):
kind of like making it official to make things faster.
I've had a couple of TikTok videos go viral.
So that's kind of what got my like reach from outside states,
from Arizona. So when you say viral, you mean
and? I'm that was the question he he
asked you. These were.
You scared the fuck out of me. Were you thinking about that?
(50:41):
Yeah, you know, I was. I was.
I, I was. But like how?
Did she start? Eddie, Why don't you?
Watch No, no, no, I'm I'm I'm onthe question.
He he asked you these more more.Oh, support from here locally.
Yeah, locally or out of state, that's what it was.
Sorry AD. HDI forget shit really quick.
(51:02):
So yes, I do have support from my local people of course, but
tick Tock is just what opened upthe support from people outside
of Tucson. So what was that view count for
that first viral? This guy knows he's setting it
up. Yeah, good man.
So again, Corona coronavirus. Hey no, don't you dare try to
preface it and like humble it. Like just say what it is big
(51:24):
Dick. Everyone slap the shit on the
table. It's a big number to say it.
That that video right now is at 4.4 million.
People. Jesus.
Yeah, that was my first hold on.Hold on, you slapped me in the
face at your meat. That was crazy.
Holy fuck I wasn't ready for that.
I don't use tik. Toks I I'm not aware.
(51:45):
Hold on. They're over here boasting about
their eight. 100 I know for real, you humbled us real quick.
Hey wins a win. Wins a win now compared to that,
That's that's that's domination.Megan Fox.
I took home the prettiest girl Icould find.
Oh shit. But it's, it's funny though,
because with those views, like it was amazing, obviously, like
(52:08):
for my TikTok account and stuff like that.
And I had put it was like a memeof the coronavirus.
It was just like these little germs.
And it was like a little comic series.
And I made a shirt. I made a shirt for his brother
and I just posted it. And that's what went viral.
I did post a shirt on my websiteto sell and I got more than 100
(52:28):
orders within like 24 hours, which was crazy for me because I
had never done shirts like that either.
I was like in such a bulk amount.
But then that comes in with creating and stuff.
Copyright, I wasn't really into copyright.
I didn't know a lot about it. I just knew I like to create and
that picture was I found the original artist and I of course
(52:50):
asked them if I could sell thoseshirts cuz I didn't want to make
all those shirts make all that money and then get sued at the
end. And then I'm like left with
nothing. So I thought I'd ask him and he
said no because he was actually like he had other people who
licensed his artwork. So he told me the no and I
literally refunded everyone back.
(53:12):
Like I did not make $1.00 from that that.
It was a couple thousand, right?Made overnight.
Yeah, it was. It was the first one to go viral
and I made so many sales. I was so happy.
Literally, I think I was up at 3:00 in the morning just for my
phone buzzing and I stayed up all night just watching it.
Like the money grow. But it.
Just didn't. I didn't feel right to meet
(53:32):
either and I was just so scared. So I was like.
Let's not. That's a big decision to make to
let that go. Yeah.
That must have been a roller coaster of emotions.
It was cuz I remember it was like.
Motherfucker slick dude, I'm like.
Impressed as hell. I remember waiting, it was like
7 in the morning already and I couldn't take it.
And it was just, I only lived with my mom.
(53:52):
It was just me and my mom and I'm like hiding all this.
I had all this excitement with no one to tell and and I
remember at 7:00 in the morning,I like went to wake up my mom
and I was like mom, I made this much.
I really don't remember how muchit was, but.
But yeah, I can imagine, like you said, if you got 100 orders,
you're selling them at like regular sweater prices.
Yeah, so, so yeah, that was likemy first viral video.
(54:14):
And luckily I've been able to just keep up with TikTok and I
still get out of state orders and local orders which is really
cool. That's awesome man.
Congratulations. Thank you.
Ask because like I'm genuinely afan of both of you on the side,
you know, and I feel like as much as I love showing support,
like I pop up on your videos andI comment and stuff, I also
(54:35):
don't like to do that to some extent because I don't want to
make it seem like I'm just therefor the attention because like I
like to observe from the background.
So and when I get moments like this, I tell you like, hey, I'm
proud of you guys. You guys are doing awesome.
This is sweet. Like you're playing Tucson on
the map, you know, if anything else, and it's cool that so many
people from our class are doing stuff like this.
(54:55):
It's just cool that I get to say, I know you guys, but I
especially am fans because both of what you guys are doing,
except for the flying, cuz I fucked that.
That's awesome. But I would never do that.
Fuck that. Like all of what you guys are
doing are things that I wanted to do at some point.
So it's almost like I get to watch it from your guys's view.
And I'm like, you know, they have the passion for it.
(55:17):
You have the passion do like sell merchandise and custom make
orders. Because for a small time in high
school, I was selling artwork tolike some of my close friends.
And it got to the point where I was like opening up a website
because I have people coming to me requesting stuff.
Oh, that's cool. And it was always like anime
things, you know, as you know, And so like I was doing anime
(55:40):
and I was doing tattoo designs because there was a couple
people who were like, Hey, I want to get tattoos this, but
like, people don't do it right? Can you do it?
So I would design and they wouldtake it to their artists, right?
And I loved it, but like I didn't love it enough to take it
to the level you. I loved YouTube, but I didn't
love it enough to take it to thelevel that you did, you know,
and it's like watching you guys do that.
(56:01):
And it made me not only appreciate your guys's journey,
but just like become more of a fan, you know, Cuz like I
literally everything I wanted tosell our work.
I wanted to go to conventions. I want to do all that stuff.
I want to create merch. I opened up a website when I was
18 and then I wanted to sell like jackets and shirts and I
started designing all that stuff.
But I was like, I don't know howto do this.
(56:22):
And it's too intimidating for meto like get into it, you know,
even now I would like to do thatwith this show, but I don't
think we have quite the audienceto sell that.
Maybe some limited edition like drops like made to order and.
There's somebody who can. Make your Oh, no, I know.
I I actually have some questions.
We're gonna talk after the show.I have some designs and some
other stuff personal and for theshow.
Yeah, Hell yeah. Yeah, I've been meaning to reach
(56:43):
out, but I wanna make sure I hadeverything set 'cause we have
some shirt ideas and some sticker ideas and stuff.
Hell yeah. And I know you have a sticker
press and. All that, yeah.
But funny enough, I even make custom stickers for people and
mine was super good. I was like getting double sided
tape and I was putting like plastic tape on.
Top Yeah, I I started like that. It's all it's all cool.
It's. That's how you start.
Yeah, you find your way. It's like I would get a drawing,
(57:05):
let's just say it was a Peach, and I would get a piece of tape
and I would put it on the drawing and then I would cut
that out. And then I would get double
sided tape and put it on the back and then cut that out.
And then people would have a sticker.
Yeah, I think I gave you one, didn't I?
Maybe by lawsuit. It was like a bottle and it said
mad milk on it. Mad milk.
So like watching you guys do allthat and taking it to this like
(57:27):
next level. It's just like I'm, I'm, I'm
happy I get to say that. I know.
You. Oh, thank you.
Yeah, of course. I'm like 2 things real quick.
It's funny because I, I know we didn't hang out in like high
school or middle school, but I do have one memory of us in Mr.
K's class. And I just remember you always
drawing. I like if someone had asked me
like, hey, do you know David? I'm like, no, but I can tell you
(57:49):
he likes to draw. Really.
I didn't. That's what I remember from Mr.
K's class. I remember.
Her in Mr. K's class and I, I, there was a lot of times where I
was acting like a jerk because Iwanted to like fit in.
So if at any point I made you feel, you know, I'm sorry.
No, no. Not at all, because I did that
to a lot of people. I did that to a lot of people
and I'm very sorry. We're kids.
(58:11):
We're kids learning and I'm growing so.
I remember Mr. K called me an accident.
An accident. Yeah.
Talk about a bull. What?
Yeah, 'cause I it. Was like 40.
So many bullets, actually. Yeah.
What did you guys ever do? That What did you do?
I'm sorry for laughing. So in, in high school, I was in
AVID and we and one of the things we had to do was
(58:32):
volunteer at like anywhere. So me and Alfred decided to go
to the to Apollo to volunteer aslike tutors or like teacher's
aides. And we aside.
I remember that, Yeah. And we decided to help out Mr. K
and we're, we're talking about parents and everything.
I told him how how old my parents were.
He's like, oh, wow, Huh. And it got quiet and he's like,
(58:55):
were you in an accident? And after that, I just, I, I, I
can't look at Mr. K the same. You're just like, was I?
And I started thinking of I'm like, was I because.
Did you ever ask them? No, I I don't want to know the
answer. Hey, were we talking about that
last time? I think it turned into something
with a waterbed. Yeah, we did.
Yeah, last. Time we did.
(59:16):
That's that's my concept. Oh, you were made on a water
feed? Sorry to bring that up.
No, it's all right. Man.
We're just exposing me today. My school is cool.
Yeah, I I know too much about how I was conceived, and I don't
like to know that, but I was. I didn't consent to any of this
information. It was just told to me.
(59:37):
That's awful. I wouldn't.
I wouldn't ever get on a water bed after that.
I still look. He kind of wanted to.
I've never experienced it. I'm like, what?
What made them so excited? You know, does it regulate your
body temperature? Helps you go longer?
It's too cool. It keeps you.
Cool. Like, you know, like worst part
about it, sometimes it's just how hot it gets.
(59:58):
So like, what if it keeps you cool?
You know, I never know. What if the bed is hot?
Like they don't go the. Water's warm.
Yeah, and the water's. Warm.
That's how you know. That's like slip right off the.
Are there fishes in the water bed that?
You're the fish expert. You got a fish.
Eddie has a fish. That's how my fish.
It's not your. Fish.
No, it's how my fish. It's my moms fish.
(01:00:18):
We had a fish and then we had a couple of fishes.
One was Henry, and he died. Did I tell you want to get a
frog? No.
I want to get a frog. I want to name him Larry.
I have a thing for frogs. I just realized that recently
and it I don't know why I didn'tnotice it earlier.
I got a frog tattoo on me but like.
And you're just noticing? Yeah.
Frogs get up. I love Milfs bumper sticker man.
(01:00:40):
I love frogs. That's good.
That is good. That is good.
Man, I love frogs. Yeah.
I don't know if I would do that with the frog.
I I just kind of like staring atthem, you know, interacting with
them. I don't know.
I don't think any of us thought that.
Yeah, I. Think you're heading in another
direction? He really likes frogs though.
No, no. No, no, no we don't.
(01:01:02):
I don't like frogs like that. Hey Joe, come on man.
We bleeped out your N word. I don't make me bleep this.
Thing that I did not say the N word.
For the record, I did not say the N word.
He didn't say the N word, he didn't say the he's going to get
some backlash then. If people actually listen to
this and take that bit seriously, then they need to go
touch grass. They need to go watch the other
(01:01:23):
the other. And then make him hear a beep.
You're not helping your case, man.
With any beep they hear, they'regonna think, yeah, it's just a
random conversation with the beep in the middle, like if I
just drop. The, you know, you should do
that. What are your, your YouTube
videos? Just do a beep in the middle.
And for the people that have heard this, they'll be like, I
know what he's doing. I know what he said back there
(01:01:46):
so on because on note of, you know, embarrassing ourselves or
whatever, do you guys have any, you know, funny drunk or
intoxicated stories or somethingthat happened to you?
You don't have to meet a wizard to compete, but like if you do
have. Any that's pretty up there to
meet a wizard while you're drunk.
I think that was awesome, but like that, that was more out of
(01:02:07):
luck. My birthday.
My 21st birthday Angel had to Take Me Out of a IHOP bathroom.
Oh damn. Oh.
IHOP. What are the girls bathroom?
I thought I was going to get arrested for walking in there.
OK, wait, see, that's a story. What the?
Fuck what? What?
Happened. Let's make this fast.
We started at Cobra. It's my birthday.
(01:02:27):
People are buying me drinks. I didn't buy one drink that day.
I didn't either, just by association.
Hey. Yeah, so then we ended up going
to Zen. We're taking shots like more
friends start coming. Hey, let me buy you a shot.
I don't know how much I drink that night but we ended up going
to hi-fi which is now closed. RIP Hi-fi.
Even Zen Zens closed. Really.
Yeah. Hi-fi Zen high wire.
(01:02:49):
No high wires open. No, it's the funky monk that's
closed. Funky Monk closed.
Oh yeah, we ended up at hi-fi and someone invited us to their
table. They're like there's drinks
there. Like take as you please.
Like go ahead. And of course we're like, we're
like, hey, shots, shots. But and I'm good, I'm good.
Like I thought I was fine. We took pictures at the end.
They closed the club. They kicked everyone out.
(01:03:12):
We're like, yeah, let's go to IHOP.
IHOP. I was so hungry.
Cool. There's just something about the
air. Like once you get out of a club,
that air hits you and it's just like, oh shit.
Like I'm drunk, like I'm bad. I remember walking to the car, I
remember getting to IHOP, ordering our food.
I got Mac and cheese. And then I don't even know if I
(01:03:34):
remember this because I saw a video or because I actually
remember it. But like a whole IHOP team comes
out and they're singing Happy Birthday.
And in the video I'm just like, down, I'm clapping.
I'm like singing and they're singing Happy Birthday and cool.
I had to go to the bathroom. I went to the bathroom and I
(01:03:54):
guess I just stayed there. It was just no.
But that's all I remember. In between all of that, after
they sang her happy birthday, Ralph was with us, with his lady
as well, and he asked the peoplesinging Happy Birthday.
He was like, can it be my birthday too?
And they just laughed and shrugged that off. 2 minutes
later they come out with anotherlittle bowl of life.
Happy. Happy.
(01:04:15):
Birthday and the people behind us too, right?
Yep, there was 3 birthdays in the span of 10 minutes.
Yeah, yeah. So everybody.
Got pissed off like my hands aretired guys like.
No, it seemed like they were having a slow a slow night or
something, so we're happy to do it.
So where does Angel going into the ladies bathroom.
It's cuz honestly, I think I just sat down and like, you
(01:04:38):
know, you're just calm. You're just like and I think I
just dazed off honestly. And I I went to go look for her
because she was in the bathroom for a long time.
I'm knocking on the door. I don't want to go in because
it's the ladies restroom. And I feel like I can slightly
hear this like like in my like if I'm dreaming.
Hello, are you in there? And then I, I tried to peek, I
(01:05:00):
tried to open it a little bit and to see if anyone was in
there so I could be like, hey, can you check on my on my lady?
She's she's in there and I open the door and all I hear is I'm.
Like groaning. I don't know a whole lot.
Babies I used Oh my. I could see her feet under the
stall, so I was like, fuck it, I'm going to go in.
(01:05:20):
Here. I don't know if it's illegal to
go in here or not, but I go in there and she's just on the
stall. Like she has all her clothes on.
So I don't even know if she wentto the restroom, but she was
just sitting down like all slumped.
I'm like, come on, we got to go.She's.
So questioned so at any point, like as you started to realize
like, well, I'm drunk. Like, did you start gaining that
like, nauseous feeling that you get like when you're really,
(01:05:42):
really drunk? Luckily, no, I don't get too
nauseous when I drink and considering I would consider
that a blackout because I kind of did blackout.
But no, never did I get nauseous.
I just remember we ended up leaving the bathroom and there's
a picture of Angel with me slouched over and he's just like
supporting my head and I'm sleeping.
(01:06:04):
But somehow our friends, Ralph and Steph, like they were the
DDS and somehow we picked up a cousin at a strip club.
We dropped them off. We we went home and I just, I
just appeared at home. Like as soon as I got home, I
guess I opened the door and I left.
I walked straight to our bed. I didn't say bye to our friends.
(01:06:26):
I didn't say thank you for the ride.
Like literally I was like, we'rehome bed.
That's blackout. Yeah, she's on bed.
Yeah. And yeah, that's that's my
blackout story. See.
OK, so the morning after, how did you feel?
Honestly, I don't think I felt anything.
I think I was good. Hey, think about it, it's like
21. You're like in your prime.
(01:06:47):
Every time I've ever drank, wokeup the next morning and my body
hate. Him What do you drink?
It very like I could drink just beer that night and like, yeah,
just alcohol and my body's like, what the fuck are you doing?
It's because I feel like now me if I drink too much sweet
drinks, then in the morning I'm like Oh my God, this is
horrible. I'm never drinking again.
But like, if I stick to like, I mean, Twisted teas, Twisted Teas
(01:07:11):
are it. Oh yeah, he texts me.
He's all Do you like Twisted tea?
And I was like, yeah. And if only, if only angels that
would have. Been sweet but she she'll have
like 1 twisted tea and in the morning she's like I don't feel
good. I think it was that tea.
I'm like, dude, I don't even think that tea hit you.
So what about so she exposed herself.
Thank you. That was I.
(01:07:31):
I feel less alone now. What do I like you, buddy?
You can't be Mr. Perfect, Ben. Your whole life's perfect.
You gotta have sub story, no? No, no, it's, it's not perfect
then, but I don't, I don't thinkI can recall.
Do you have any? Angel's just funny when he's
drunk. Like Angel just starts, like, I
don't know, he just gets very flowy and like, you'll know,
(01:07:56):
Angel's drunk just by looking athim 'cause he's just like, very
comfy and slanted. Yeah, yeah.
And then his eyes will close up.But, but he's fine.
He's he's really fine, but he doesn't do like crazy things.
I like how you guys are sitting the same too, that's cute.
Oh, it's funny, I I never noticed that.
(01:08:16):
Hey. What?
What did I say earlier? Yeah.
What did I say earlier too? I told him I was like, for
whatever reason, those chairs you just have to cross your
legs, these are. Comfy chairs, thank you.
For yeah, they are. Yeah, yeah, this is.
Nice. I can stay here for hours, but
I, I, I'm, I'm trying to think of a time that.
I was like, I don't know if you want this on the record, but do
you want to talk about Greece? What happened in Greece?
(01:08:41):
Oh, so we weren't, I wasn't, I wasn't drunk, but I was, I was
high. Oh, I got some of those stories
too, so. So I I managed to have edibles
in Greece which probably isn't very legal.
So question, yeah, on the legality of it, Do you mind
telling us how you acquired it or was it like?
(01:09:03):
Wait, statue of limitations? Off the record.
Like we could beep that part outif anything.
But like, I'm curious, you know,as a as a part of.
Myself, we'll beep it out just to OK for legality, yeah.
They're still looking. Oh my God, I can't believe I
didn't think of that shit. I could have been fucking blown
(01:09:25):
in Seattle. The.
Whole. Time So, so I, I had these,
these like 2 gummies with me andthey were pretty strong.
They were like 5050 milligrams when usually the usual dose is
like 10 and 10 will get you pretty good.
Anyway, we were saving them. We were in Greece for a couple
days already and we're like, cool, we're going to buy a bunch
of snacks. We're going to lock ourselves in
(01:09:45):
this really nice hotel room. We had gotten that hotel room,
had a Jacuzzi on the balcony andwe were, we were coincidentally
upgraded to that. So it was just amazing.
We're like, we're going to have a grand time.
We're going to order room service, which is another story.
And so we, we prepared the day. We, we, we rented a quad.
(01:10:06):
We went to the store, bought some snacks, I bought some,
some, some milk and Oreos, whichwe'll get, we'll touch on that.
Just. A bunch of snacks.
Just a bunch of snacks. They have these a bunch of
croissant snacks which is amazing.
Oh, and let me just mention there's no chips in like Greece.
Like they don't believe in any red dye.
There's nothing like here in theStates.
Like all this is literally like pastries and like things you've
never seen before. So you're getting, like, food?
(01:10:28):
Food as snacks, Yeah. Yeah, cuz.
We're going to order room service.
We know we're going to be hungry.
And so we, we, we popped these edibles.
It's 50 milligrams. 15 or 50 OH.50 it's quite.
A bit and the reason I took I was comfortable taking that
amount because I had done it before here at home and I was
(01:10:48):
cool. I was like cool like this is I'm
I'm buzzing, I'm chill. So over there I I took it
expecting that same result and we were we were waiting.
We got in the jacuzzi. We were having fun and I was
like hey babe. After like an hour or so I was
like, it's like hey baby, we should get out of the jacuzzi
just in case these hit. And she's in the jacuzzi
(01:11:10):
striking poses and I'm like, oh shit, it hit her.
Wait do you get like you get outmore outgoing and active when
you're high or is it like a chill?
I guess it just depends on the environment.
Yeah, on the environment we were.
We were having fun. So I guess I was in a silly,
goofy mood. Yeah, I couldn't.
Get her out of the damn Jacuzzi and I'm like come on, let's get
(01:11:31):
out because if well let's get into the room service because
could have got her other day like.
Bake of us, you know. Dude, I was already outside and
she was over there doing the robot.
So earlier that week we had ordered room service and they
don't just give it to you at thedoor.
They they set it on your bed, they prepare it for you, they
open the coke bottles for you. And and I was naked when they
(01:11:54):
when they came in, I was in the shower and the shower is just
the glass. Cube and like literally like
right at the entrance so you enter the room to the right is
like just the little bathroom and you can literally see Angel
like naked. Like like I'm sure if that guy
like wanted to get a peek like he could but like he just went
straight. But like Angel was showering.
Yeah. And anyway, that was that was
another day, not the not the edible day.
(01:12:15):
So we had that background of theroom service.
We knew they were going to come in and we're like, we don't want
to make cause a scene or anything.
So let's order it before we're too blown here.
Yeah, that's a good idea, yeah. And Nope, it starts, it starts
hitting, I start getting all paranoid.
I I start shutting all the the windows and and and all that and
all that stuff. So by this point, I have the
(01:12:36):
room secured and I I'm like, youknow what, I'm going to bust out
these snacks. So I get the milk in the Oreos.
Turns out the milk wasn't milk. It was yogurt.
It was freaking, it was strawberry yogurt.
So I was like, how am I going toeat these with?
Me, I just tried it. He should have fucked.
Out and tried it. It was just so sad because he
opened the cup and he was like, yes, I'm going to pour myself
the milk. And it like plopped into the
(01:12:57):
glass and he was just there. Like what?
Is the. Did you think it?
Was expired at first you're like.
I didn't know, I just felt the the disgust in my stomach
because of how chunky it. Was I was like.
This ain't milk. I don't know.
And, and mind you, we we startedeating the snacks because we
both agreed that we were in no way shape or form ready to.
Accept the room service. Accept the room service.
(01:13:18):
Like we weren't even gonna call.Like we couldn't call.
We couldn't know it. Was hitting hard.
Yeah, so we're like, we're just gonna call it a snacks night and
that's that. Yeah, see, that's fucking
awesome. But go ahead, I don't want to
interrupt so. Yeah, So we got to the snacks.
I didn't. I was very disappointed because
that was my main snack for the night.
And it was, it was weird becausethe containers that look like it
(01:13:39):
would be milk here was yogurt over there.
It was. I was.
So it was like a like a tall like bottle it.
Was shape it was like kind of like how you see the Shamrock
bottles at Circle K it was just a a white bottle with a red cap.
So I was like, well, this is like whole milk.
It was whole yogurt instead. Yeah, So, so yeah, that that
time we, we just ended up, oh, and I was in the shower, I
(01:14:01):
showered that day too. And the shower had a removable,
A removable head. And I was, I was going crazy
with that thing. I was like.
I was washing the shower. I was just.
Aiming at everything cool and and I was just, I was just
fucking around with that shower head pointing it everywhere.
And so by the time we got to thesnacks, we get on the bed and
the bed is wet for some reason. We're like, why is it wet?
(01:14:25):
And it turns out the shower had a a like a a A2 foot gap from
the roof. To the glass.
And the whole time I was playingwith the shower head, I was I
was spraying down the bed. I.
Could see like a visual like I'mthinking like a James Bond level
hotel room where it's like beautiful.
You got the fucking like curtains in your hotel room.
Like in ropes holding the curtains.
(01:14:47):
Like it was very beautiful. And like, I could see you in
the, and I'm not saying this in a weird way, but I could see you
in the shower, Nate. You're just like.
Yep, and the towel was. Like over like by the food just
and I'm like picturing like the room service walking in and
you're like spraying the bed from the shower and she's like
eating the snacks and I'm like. Did you guys sleep in the bed
(01:15:09):
all wet? Yeah, we put a towel over her.
Oh, OK. Yeah, yeah.
It's that was stir. Oh yes, fuck it, it was.
That's awesome, man. So I don't we didn't really get
a chance to talk about this lasttime because I was kind of like
pussyfooting around it last timebecause I was I was still in
that weird phase where I was like, I like weed, but I feel.
Bad. Yeah, I remember.
(01:15:29):
And I'm not going to lie, I haven't had a chance to tell you
this, but because of your like, mature outlook on it and
somebody else's mature outlook who like gave me some
perspective, I was like, you know what?
I can incorporate it into my life if I use it correctly And
you know, and I manage like how I do it.
So I hopped back on it. What was it like nine months ago
or. Something like that.
(01:15:49):
I'm on a break right now, kind of like a sobriety thing.
I mean, I'm, I might, I might crack here soon because the
stress is insane. I'm not going to lie.
It's a great stress thing. And I hate to keep talking about
this, but because I recently found out about the whole ADHD
thing, which I guess the whole world knew about and didn't feel
like telling me, It's a great way for me to wind down
personally, because they're like, I don't like the way
(01:16:11):
alcohol makes me feel. And obviously it changes me and
makes me do things that I regretthe next morning.
Yeah, So like with that as the context and the foundation.
And then we'll take a break heresoon.
So if you guys need to stretch your legs or anything, I guess
what are some of your favorite snacks when you're higher?
Like, what do you like to do? Like what's an ideal night for
you? Because for me, I would say like
(01:16:33):
probably I love Ritz, Ritz. I love cheeses and I love Oreos
and especially, like, pizza. If I get a whole pizza, I'm high
and I throw on like, scooby-doo or something spooky.
Like, fuck, I'm in the zone likeAmerican Horror Story and some
pizza. Oh, fuck, I'm there, man.
Yeah. I don't really discriminate
(01:16:54):
between snacks. I I fuck everything up.
Yeah. I mean, a good night for us is,
I mean, it's always nice to smoke before a meal because you
just like, kind of like enjoy itmore.
So we are more of like, let's goget our food, we'll smoke a doob
(01:17:16):
and then we'll enjoy our night and watch some movies.
Gangster, we'll. Smoke.
A doob OK, I mean, like I was saying last time, this is a good
way, good way to to wind down. Obviously you can abuse, you can
abuse anything, right? But I mean, we just use it to,
to, to wind down and, and I don't know, it's it, I, I see
(01:17:37):
how it can get very complicated and I've seen how sometimes it
gets overcomplicated, but sometimes it, it is an issue
with, with people and it's, it'svery different.
It's very different with people.Yeah, I can.
From my own experience, I've seen it's more based off of like
their lifestyle or like how whatthey got going on in their life.
(01:17:58):
Because I mean, kind of like youwere saying earlier, you guys in
a are in a very great position and because of that, like you
have each other there to supporteach other, obviously.
So like you notice like if he's trying to take a little bit too
much, you could be like, hey, you know, like we usually do
this after like 5:00 PM, it's 2:00 PM.
Like, you know, I know it's Friday, but like you good and
like shit like that. Yeah, and.
(01:18:20):
I've noticed like in myself, like the reason why I'll take
breaks or I'll like stop for a little while is because I
noticed that stress from work orlife or whatever will start to
get to me. And then it becomes like my
crutch. And I'm like, Hey, that's not a
crutch, that's a privilege. Like that's your unwinding
thing. Sure.
Like don't abuse it. And so like there was instances
(01:18:41):
where like I would get home and as soon as I get home, I'm like,
all right, where am I going at? Right.
Because like, I need to unwind. But it's, that's when I was
like, Hey, take a break for a couple of weeks, you know,
reset, you know, set a goal for yourself, hit the goal and then
you can get back on to everything.
Because like, it's starting to get to that weird point where
you're like crossing over now that you cut off alcohol and all
(01:19:03):
this other stuff like this. Is substituted for something
else, yeah. So like it's cool that you guys
are able to again have that mature.
Like, and it's, I mean, it's notlike it's a, it's like a rule
thing. I mean we'll, I mean, we'll,
we'll, we'll smoke whenever. We'll be like, wow, what a nice
view. Light it up.
Yeah, like. That's awesome.
That's awesome. I think I'm sorry to interrupt.
(01:19:24):
I think a lot of it is like how we talked about earlier you
around people that didn't like it.
So then it like made you question like how you look at
it, but now you're in a more supportive.
Yeah, and I, I like I was sayinglast time in like high school
and stuff like that, I would judge, I would judge heavily on
the people who smoke, which it'sjust crazy how you develop as a
(01:19:45):
person because now, now I smoke. And what about all those people
that I might have made feel a certain way by saying no, like I
don't, I don't do that. Or, or maybe I made somebody
feel judged or something like that.
And it's, it's crazy to see how,how your whole perspective flips
on something. And it can also be used as, as,
(01:20:07):
as a tool. I mean, how many?
How many people don't use it as a a creative tool?
You get, you get ideas on. That right, yeah.
And, and sometimes, like when I know I'm, I'm not going to do
anything that day other than editing, I'll light one up and
then I'll start editing a video And it, it really, it expands or
(01:20:27):
you hyper fixate on some detailswhile you're editing or, or
doing whatever it is you're doing that you would otherwise
look over. Like sometimes I'll go really
deep into sound. How can I carry you across this
video with sound alone and visuals and, and, and all kinds
of things like that. And sometimes it, it can hinder
(01:20:50):
you sometimes when you kind of just feel like I just want to be
bummy. But most of the time you just,
you just do do whatever you got to do.
Yeah, and like I said, that's why I love like talking to you
guys about it because of your perspective.
It helps me like reassess it because again, I, I have an
addictive personality, so I knowhow I can get and that's why I
(01:21:12):
kind of like restrict myself because even though I don't
consider it to be bad, you know,I am around people that have
negative connotations towards it.
And even though I try not to letit affect me over time, it can
just wear you down a little bit.And I'm aware of that, but it
changes my relationship. But then and a lot of times I'll
start to feel guilty with it andI'm like, man, this was supposed
(01:21:34):
to be something that helped me, you know, creatively or
something to unwind or whatever, something with my, to help me
with my eating habits, you know, and now it's turning into like
something that I get guilt from.Yeah.
You know, And so that's why I like, I love talking to you guys
about it. Like you said, beautiful view,
light it up. Let's go.
That's like, that's how I want to be, honestly.
(01:21:54):
And a lot of times I stop myself.
Yeah, I mean it, like I said, itchanges with with everybody and
it changes with whatever situation you're doing too.
Cuz say like sometimes, sometimes you do have a hard
week and you're, you're like, man, I need AI need to have a
smoke or something like that. You do feel some type of guilt
in, in terms of, well, am I using this as an escape or, or
(01:22:16):
things like that? But I mean, you'll get that type
of guilt with whatever. It is, yeah.
You use in my instead of doing that, you go distract yourself
at a casino or at wherever you spend a bunch of money.
That's you. You know anything could be a
negative. I love how you say that because
I've seen that like exercise forme has been something that's
(01:22:37):
really helped me with like my mental state and obviously like
all the bad shit that happens. Like he can attest to it.
I'll go and get my heart broken on a weekly basis and then going
to the gym and hit a new PR right.
But that's where like the the bad comes from it because there
have been so many times where I injure myself where I push it
too far because I'm using it as that thing.
But for I guess the gym and working out, because everybody
(01:22:59):
has that like better perspectiveon it, you don't feel that same
kind of guilt, you know? Whereas with weed, it's still
kind of like negative, but some people are opening up to it and
then they look at you like a loser.
Like, at least in my own experience, you know.
Yeah, and and I see we're we're that it's almost a stereotype
that comes with it. But honestly, like we just try.
(01:23:20):
And I, I kept doing this last time.
I kept saying we, but I I. Shouldn't.
Say I don't want to speak for you, I just like try to do the
best that I can with what I haveavailable and try to be the
person I want to be regardless if if I was smoking weed or
smoking crack. Oh my God, yeah.
That's a good. I love.
(01:23:40):
I love the example that I know what you're saying.
And I mean again, so that he doesn't speak for you.
Do you kind of feel that same type of like pressure or like
does your background a little bit more supportive of it or?
My background, I mean, mom, if you're listening, no, I'm just
kidding. I mean I had I grew up with like
an older sister who was always into like the bad stuff.
(01:24:03):
She was always like, you know, smoking weed behind our shed at
home. And I mean I I've seen it.
I my mom was always against it for sure.
Sometimes I feel like I got it alittle easy and she's more
understanding with me, but I mean I'm more of like a go with
the flow person. I guess it's just like you do
what you want to do. I mean, me personally, like in
(01:24:26):
high school, like I smoked various times and even now me as
a person, I'm like, wow, like sometimes I wish I wouldn't have
gave in to that like peer pressure, you know, because I'm
like, what am I doing smoking atschool or like, you know what I
mean? But can't change it now and I
mean I'm I'm a weed lover now soit's chill.
I love OK more than anything, you guys are breaking the
(01:24:48):
stereotypes of what it is and that makes me feel comfortable.
So then like when I do like there was so many times that I
thought of you while I was blown.
I was like, thank you Angel. I should text them.
And I'm like, Nah, that's weird you.
Should've let the feeling come out.
But I was like, man, that's weird.
I don't want to. I don't want to bug them.
I was like, I'll just put on a rookie pilot video.
(01:25:08):
Nice plug. Do you see that?
I'm like. Yeah.
All right, so we'll take a quickbreak because I want to stretch
my legs real quick, I'm sure. I need to pee.
I'll keep going. Wait, wait, wait.
We'll, we'll do a quick. Add break, wait.
What do you mean go? Eddie's gone, everyone.
Wait, Guy. No, Eddie.
OK, whatever. Eddie walked.
Eddie walked away. So it's.
Just the moon, man. It's just the one.
(01:25:29):
It's just the one. And then there was one.
It's all right. I got, I got you guys here.
You guys are great company. Thank you again.
Thank you for having us, for having.
Us this this was supposed to be an ad read, but I guess we're
just, you know, showing appreciation ad read yeah, cuz
we we have we've had a couple different sponsors, but the only
one that we keep active right now is the better help sponsor.
Cool that's really cool cuz I just that was my first ad
(01:25:54):
placement in one of my videos. Really.
Congratulations. How much percent do you get off?
I think it was like 15 or something like.
Oh you fucker, you got better. Than how much is yours 10/10 It
might be 10 actually but but yeah that was my first ever AD
placement. Congratulations man, I'm happy.
For you. Yeah, thank you.
Yeah, yeah. I always wondered I was like how
do how do they get ads on their on their podcast?
(01:26:16):
Yeah, you should ask me. I would have told you.
And for those of you that are curious, like we actually reach
out to sponsors at this level cuz we're not at the level where
they told us. Yeah.
So like, how many times have we reached out to Doctor Squatch
already? I think it was.
The one with. Wait, tell, tell the mic.
Oh shit. I.
Know we're on. Break.
No, we're not on break. You took off My my bad.
I think we reached out like 3 times.
I thought it was 4. And do do you guys get a
(01:26:38):
response at all or is it? A No the first time.
No, none of the times, actually. What's your friend?
No, no, no one of them. Or was it liquid death?
I think it was liquid death. Oh.
That's a cool one. Yeah, we're choosing like
companies that we actually like would use or enjoy or whatever.
So like, better help. Although neither of us are
(01:26:59):
currently in therapy, we're always talking about mental
health and like sobriety issues and stuff that people probably
don't probably think are boring or don't want to talk about.
But we're like, hey, if they even get a glimpse of this kind
of world on their way to work and it like maybe helps them do
some self discovery, that's whatwe want.
And if they need a path to go here, better help.
Yeah. But also, they're the only one
(01:27:21):
that reached back out, so we're like, OK, cool.
No, I get that. I get that.
And I, I struggled quite a bit to decide if I was going to do
the better health ad because. It's.
It's a it's oddly enough, it's acontroversial topic.
It's it's weird to to say that mental health and people being
OK is a is a is a taboo topic. And, and I also, it was my first
(01:27:45):
ad placement too, so I, I didn'tknow how exactly to do it.
They reached out in February andI didn't do it until oh.
They reached out to you. Yeah, they did.
They, Yeah, they reached out in February and I didn't accept it
until May. So yeah.
And and. He got 15% off on his.
Wow, I'll use. His it's because they reached
(01:28:06):
out first. Yeah, yeah, it might be 10 I.
I I think it's 15. That's OK.
That's OK. We'll get there one day.
So it hurts, you know, we were here first.
Yeah, I don't. Think in your guys contract,
does it allow to say how much you guys, how much that ad
placement was? So ours is pay per use.
So like you got paid to, they sponsored that video, right?
(01:28:30):
So then they gave you that sum of money upfront.
With us, it's every time somebody uses our link, it's an
affiliate we're partnering. So you get a, we get a small.
Cut of it. OK cool, I didn't know they
could do it differently. So I can beat this out because
I'm just genuinely curious, how much did they offer you when
they did reach out? OK, bleep it out, but say.
It's a NDAI know you can't. Yeah, I.
(01:28:52):
Oh wow. That's awesome.
Yeah, but don't we can't even say that I told you guys.
Yeah, no. So I didn't even ask that
question. Welcome back.
That was a weird beat. I'm sorry.
There's some shit you can't knowabout.
All right, Big business moves over here.
Yeah, but it was it was it was. It was a good topic to, to start
on as my first add to because it's, it's important.
(01:29:15):
I also feel it's important to talk about mental health and,
and because it, like I was saying in the video, it doesn't
discriminate between gender or race or where you come from or,
or whatnot. Like it can affect anybody.
And it's something that that most people should be aware of
and that shouldn't be a like a cultured like, oh, you're,
(01:29:38):
you're a man like, like toughen up, right.
Or you're, you're this toughen up.
Your, your life is great. Toughen up like you, you got it
good. Because you never know what
what's behind somebody's eyes exactly.
If, if it seems like they have aperfect life, like even if they
have a, a quote UN quote perfectlife, like they could be a
(01:29:58):
little bit cross wired in the in, in the head and it's it
could affect them in in ways that they can't enjoy that life
as much as somebody would think they're enjoying that life.
Matt, you guys are so good at having conversation.
Let's just take a moment to appreciate that because with no
shade to anybody in particular, we've had guests on that don't
you know, really get comfortableand you guys are awesome at
(01:30:21):
keeping the conversation going. So thank you.
I appreciate that. You guys are great.
I think it's because you're fellow creators and you kind of
understand it, but like you guysare just so comfortable.
You got a presence here. It's awesome, you know?
Yeah. Yeah, like I made you go
uncomfortable. You shouldn't have said
anything. I'm.
Nervous. You should be nervous.
(01:30:41):
Thousands of people are listening.
Last night, it's probably. Like, like like it's.
It varies. We've had episodes that do very,
very well on episodes that like our mom didn't even listen to
them. Like hey mom, listen to the last
time she's. Like, yeah, it was really.
Good. I'm like you're a.
Liar, we had. One play and that was.
Me. We're like, what did we talk
about? Yeah.
Exactly. And then she's, why do you
always do this? I support you.
(01:31:03):
And I'm like, I'm trauma dumping.
It's all right. I have a question.
Yeah, of course. Why don't you guys record
anymore? Like.
Video. Yeah, like you guys.
Get out of my head. You even looked at me the same.
Yeah. So we really like doing the
video, but there was a couple things that we noticed.
(01:31:25):
One, the main thing was the editing because of how we
traditionally record our episodes, we use audio recording
program, we use Audacity and youguys might be familiar there.
You might have used it on your projects and it's cuz it's a
great free platform that you canadd plug insurance to and really
like learn what it is to edit. And we still use it to this day
(01:31:46):
cuz it's just convenient and it works with all of our stuff,
right? But with our current setup,
because we use this guy, it's anaudio interface and all it does
is it's basically an amplifier amplifier.
So it takes all the audio soundsfrom the mic and plugs it into
the computer in a way that the computer can understand.
(01:32:08):
And you can't record a video on one platform and then record
audio on another platform with this setup as of right now.
So the way Joe Rogan does it, for example, because everybody
uses him, he has a digital recorder and an audio interface.
The digital recorder has maybe like 2 terabytes of space.
And so he'll plug that in directly into here, and then
(01:32:31):
that'll record the audio by itself.
And then he has a video separately on a computer, and
then they sync up everything. And then because of that, it
makes the editing very easy. We currently don't have that in
digital recorders, at least decent ones.
It can vary in price from like 600.
Oh yeah. A couple grand, Yeah, Yeah.
Like even this little fucker right here was what, 450?
(01:32:52):
Something like that. So like we we both pitched in to
get this and now we're in betterpositions financially to do
that. Yeah.
But to be fair, I think a lot ofwhat we like about the show is
that it's only audio and you don't get distracted by the
video. So yeah, we experimented with
it. We might do it again in the
future. Cool.
You know, I mean, what? OK.
(01:33:14):
As people who have dived into the show a little bit and have
been on it, what would you like as, I guess an audience?
Would you prefer more video or audio from the experience that
you've had listening? Me personally, yeah, I when I'm,
I watch a lot of podcasts. I mean, while I work in my
office, that's literally I play podcasts and that's all I play.
(01:33:36):
I don't know, something about just seeing the people like
talk. I, I like it better.
I don't know you. Can see that emotion and
reaction. Yeah, I think so.
Maybe that's where I, I like it.But yeah, it's just, I, I mean,
I'm not opposed to just audio, right?
But I don't know, something about, I mean, I mostly watch my
videos on YouTube, so maybe that's why I'm always like also
(01:33:57):
watching the screen and stuff like that.
But yeah, I guess I all the podcasts I watch are more in
real life. And I asked just because I had
seen you guys trying a setup. Yeah.
So I was like. So again, we always start off
ghetto and then get professionalto see I'm not gonna buy a
$400,000 camera just to mess with it for two weeks.
(01:34:19):
I can't do this. Yeah, so we had plugged in a
webcam that I found at my house. It was 1080P supposedly.
It's really. Like. 4480P yeah, and they scam
you with those things every fucking time.
It says 4K and you're lucky to get 720.
But all right, so we tried that.We tried some actual like,
cameras, and then he even boughta camera from Amazon that was
(01:34:42):
like at a very decent price. And like, we tried multiple
different setups where we each had our own camera.
Holy shit that one's hard to edit if the normal episode.
A 2 hour episode takes me like 3hours to edit.
Usually just adds an hour if youtake a 2 hour episode where we
each have our own individual camera.
To sync all that up. Sync and you have to manually
(01:35:03):
cut it. So you have to cut it and then
change the the key frames and like boom, boom, boom, boom,
insert all of it and cut it at the right time and watch both of
them. So I did that once.
We had what, a 2 1/2 hour discussion?
Yeah, it. Took me 23 hours to edit.
Holy. Crap of like 4 days and I was
like fuck this Eddie. I can't keep doing this shit.
(01:35:24):
I was like I work. I was like not that he did it
but like I was like I just got ajob like I can't do this shit.
I was like this is too hard. Like we can't maintain this as
of right now. Like maybe if we had a guy who
edited for us, but like, we can't afford that.
That makes sense. 24 hours of editing.
Yeah, that like it was insane. And I think it's more because it
was a learning process at that point.
(01:35:45):
I was using software hadn't usedat that point.
I don't know if you're familiar Da Vinci.
I was trying that. I think I've heard of it, yeah.
They have a free one and a paid 1.
I tried the free one cuz it's supposed to be similar to like
Adobe and I didn't want to pay for the Adobe subscription so I
was trying that and learning that at the exact same time so I
was pain in the ass but I can imagine once you get it all down
(01:36:07):
it's still like 8 hours, 10 hours worth.
Yeah, I I can imagine syncing uphours worth.
Of footage, I mean, you should know because you got the, you do
the YouTube videos every every day.
Yeah, some. Some videos can take up to a
similar amount, probably like 3035 hours on on a big video
that'll probably be like a 30 minute video.
So like when you went to SEMA and you were recording all of
(01:36:29):
that like to work, is it SEMA the the?
Sema. Sema, OK, Sorry.
Yeah, that. Video was a little, a little
shorter. That video sees some it's, it
just depends on how I do the video.
I, I say like the video speaks to me and it, it, it lets me
know how long it, it's going to be like that Sema video.
I had this pressure from my bosssaying, saying, because she also
(01:36:52):
filmed a video up there and she was like, I'm going to post mine
on Tuesday or on Wednesday. If you want to post yours with
it, I'll I'll shout it out. She never shouted it out.
That's a different conversation. You gotta love when they do
that. Yeah, but I, I, I posted it
early just cuz everybody within the week of SEMA, it's like a
(01:37:14):
week thing. I posted it early in the week.
So people that didn't attend getto see a video early on rather
than seeing it at the end when the event's already over.
The video didn't didn't perform too well anyway.
But that video I edited, I started at 5:00 in the morning
and I finished probably like, I don't know, sometime, sometime
(01:37:34):
like at noonish maybe. So some videos can take take a
couple hours and some videos will take a couple days.
Just depends on what it is, whatthe topic is, and if it's a
video I think will perform that is on a topic that I I believe
it will perform well in the future and I'll spend a little
more time on it. But it it just be great.
(01:37:55):
Depends. And like, I guess same for you,
like as you, well, both of you. So as you started to learn to
edit, like have you seen the in private?
Not in private? Have you seen improvement in
like how long it takes you versus how long it took you?
Like versus like when you did your first TikTok and you were
editing it or when you were doing your vlogs and when you
(01:38:15):
were first starting out with YouTube.
I guess with anything, right, it's like as you keep going,
there's always improvement. There's things you can change.
I know, my bad. My questions sound basic,
sometimes no. No, they're really good
questions. They're real questions.
Yeah, no, no, I agree. They are basic.
No, I, I, I get that. I see, but I see.
No, let me let me add to that. So the like in, in terms of
improvement, it's not really as far as speed goes.
(01:38:40):
It's like I was telling her instead of growing the video
this way horizontally, it grows this way so vertically so.
More cuts. More, yeah.
More cuts, more, more, more scenes, more transitions.
How does the SAT like again, if you dive into just just sound
alone, like if you look at like movies and and I think they have
(01:39:03):
posted like one of Mr. Beast's videos, the timeline in the
editing software and it's like it's like along this way just
from sounds alone. So you with every video you do,
you get better, as I'm sure withevery podcast you guys do, you
guys learn how to flow it a little better.
You learn something from from from it, right?
(01:39:23):
Well, I ask in like in terms of length because again, like when
I first started, when I first started editing, because I'm the
primary editor and he's been learning over the last few
weeks. Shout out to Eddie or months.
Sorry, not weeks, months. And he's edited a lot of
episodes now, so he's starting to understand it.
When I first started, I didn't know how to do any of this shit.
And I'm like I'm the type of person I realized that I can't
(01:39:44):
watch tutorials on something so I never watched a tutorial on
like how to edit, I just had to.Jump and learn.
Right. And so there was literally a
day, and I remember this becausewe had gone to nightfall that
night, but I was editing all day.
Like literally I woke up out of black coffee, sat down and
edited until we went to nightfall.
And so they're asking me like, how was it?
I'm like, dude, I'm not even done.
(01:40:05):
I was like, I've been fucking, I've been doing this shit all
day. I, I have like 9 hours on the
end. They're all what the fuck?
Like you're overworking yourself.
Like the people we're with. I was like, yeah, I was like,
it's just learning how to do it.I was like, hopefully one day
it's easier. And now it's like the length of
the episodes, Like if it's a 2 hour episode, it's a 2 hour
editing process, OK. So like, even though the episode
(01:40:25):
itself wasn't that long, becauselike you said, you're getting
into it, you're learning it, you're, you're getting more
involved with like the layers ofit.
You, you spend more time on it, I guess, so to speak.
But then you start to figure outyour flow, you know, you start
to figure out what works, what doesn't.
And so now I have a system and the system worked so well that I
texted it to him. So then when he started editing,
(01:40:46):
like he didn't have to experience what I did.
So in a sense I was learning forboth.
Of us, right? So that's what I meant, like if
you noticed that like the first TikTok we ever made took me 4
hours to do it and it was like aminute.
That's pretty long cuz you had graphics and all that.
Yeah, so we since it was audio only, we didn't have no visuals
to use. I had to find like space videos
(01:41:07):
that just looped. So I found one and it was like
uncopy righted space video, freeto use, commercial, blah blah
blah blah. I was like, OK, cool.
And I stole that. I flipped it vertically.
And so then it was just space going on forever, right?
And so I was like, that's the background.
And then I found a sample of us talking about how the gym was
(01:41:27):
making me check out dudes. And the joke was that I think
I'm turning gay because I'm starting to check out men way
more than I should. Like admiring their biceps is
one thing, but wondering how they would feel is.
Another. Like I'm, I'm kind of like low
key tempted to ask if I can touch it, but then that's
that's. That's harassment.
You know that's a song you're getting.
Kicked out of the gym. Yeah, so that was the joke.
(01:41:50):
And it was, again, it was like literally a minute long because
I was like a minute is the absolute limit.
So let me see if I can push that, right.
And so all it was was writing out basically the entire script.
So I put my text right here, Eddie's text right here.
So then whoever was talking, they had their own individual
text. And in the middle, I put like
emojis to go what we were talking about.
Very, very simple. And it performed pretty well.
(01:42:12):
That first one, I think was one of the best Tik Toks we ever
did. It was like I think we got 3K or
something. Oh nice.
That's yeah, for Instagram, that's.
Really, I know you guys are doing very well on your own, but
for us that was really good. It's really good.
It's hard even like I I'm not popping on on TikTok or
Instagram. It's I really, I can't break
those, which that's her. That's her specialty right
(01:42:34):
there. So do you.
What do you? And I'm not trying to steal your
trade secrets because putting itout here can.
Like, you know, like. What have you noticed in doing
it that's like different as opposed to like YouTube for
example? Like, do you notice there's
certain things that do better onlike Instagram or certain things
that do better on TikTok? Yes and no, I mean for me
(01:42:54):
personally, TikTok and Instagram, which is, you know,
something faster than short termvideos, right?
That's that's something easier to me than a YouTube video.
Like I still do YouTube videos, but not as frequently or, you
know, heavily edited like Angel does.
But it's just like, I don't know.
I like Angel always says too, like when I'm doing YouTube
(01:43:16):
videos and stuff like that, I'm like, Oh my God, like I'm scared
like this is so nervous. It's so cringy, things like
that. And he's just like, well, it
never gets easier. Like you just need to do it.
And also the same for Instagram and TikTok.
Like, you literally just need topost everything because those
are the times anytime I've posted a TikTok where I'm like,
oh, my God, like, I don't think I should post this.
(01:43:37):
I don't think it's going to do that.
Well, it's the ones that go viral.
The coronavirus 1. I did not want to post that.
I think I left it in my drafts for like maybe four or five
hours. And Angel kept saying, are you
going to post it? Are you going to post it?
Like it was so cool. And I was just like, you know,
I'm just going to post it. And it got me 4 million views.
Like, it's literally what you don't expect and how they say
record everything. Yeah.
(01:43:59):
And it's funny you say that because I have my own experience
with that. And again, way smaller degree,
but I can understand to an extent where there was a, it was
a TikTok, but I had heard that TikTok extended their, their
thing to 10 minutes. And I, I get all my information
on the app from him because I know that if I ever downloaded
it, it would be crippling for mebecause of how my brain works.
I would never get off of it, so I just stay away.
(01:44:22):
So I was making this and I pulled the story.
It was a story from one of our guests.
And it was a very funny story about how he, like got cock
blocked right before he almost had sex for the first time,
right? And it was like a 10 minute
story that he told on the show. But I condensed it down to like
4 1/2 minutes, right? So I was like, we're gonna make
a TikTok out of this. It'll be long form, but people
(01:44:43):
might, you know, like it becauseTik Tok's longer now.
And so I made it, and that one took me about 17 hours to edit
in full. Damn.
Because I was putting in way toomuch effort into some of the
images that I showed on screen. Like I would be making like he
would be saying like, yeah, her hair look like this.
And so I would have to find a GIF of a girl girl's hair that
(01:45:03):
looked exactly like how he was talking about.
Or if he's like she did this motion, I'm like, OK, where do I
even look to find this motion? Like, well, how do you look this
up? Right?
So I was struggling with that. So I put all this effort into it
and I was very proud of it. And I like did a bunch of little
nitpicks and stuff and I posted it on everything.
And I sent it to him and I was like, post it.
And thankfully he didn't post itat first because no engagement
(01:45:27):
whatsoever, no reactions, nobodycared.
It was like 4 1/2 minutes. Took me all this time to edit.
Nobody cared. I was like what the fuck?
And I was like Eddie try something on TikTok.
I was like cut it into parts andsee if people like follow and
engage from that right? And we did.
And then he forgot to post the rest of it.
So like all the engagement died and I don't have the apps so I
couldn't check. So I just assumed he was posting
(01:45:49):
it and I asked him. I was like hey how'd the video
do? Like 2 weeks later he's like.
Oh fuck, I was like. You know what, Eddie?
It's fine. You got the first thought up
there. It's OK, bud.
I was like, maybe they'll click one of these.
Things. That's all I was hoping for and
that didn't. That didn't turn out.
So then the very next one, I waslike, that was when we were
pumping out like a new TikTok like every couple of days,
(01:46:12):
right? Because I had, there's a period
of time where I didn't work because I was trying to focus
all my energy into the podcast and into my writing that I was
doing at the time. Yeah.
And so I was making another one and this one I was like, I'm not
going to put this much effort in.
Like nothing paid off. So I think it took me 45
minutes. Made this little quick story
(01:46:33):
about how one of our guests met one of my best friends from
childhood. And then they ended up having a
make out session. And I was like, wow.
I was like, I didn't even know you two men.
You guys were making out. Like, that's so weird.
Like I'm really close to you. I'm really close to him.
I never knew about this. Like it would be like if I found
out Eddie was making out with like my childhood girl best
(01:46:57):
friend and I'm like what the fuck?
Eddie, like Eddie, you didn't mention this, no.
Sorry, he. Was a player back then.
Man, I don't trust that first finger.
They called me Game Boy. Game Boy did.
You just come. Up.
Yeah, I just came up with it. Oh my God, we forgot to take a
break. Do you guys need a break?
Do you need a chance to like stand up, walk around?
(01:47:19):
Yeah, OK, well, real quick. So then we I posted that 45
minutes and then like it blew upand it got like 800 views in the
1st 5 minutes. So I was like, I was like, what?
I was like, this is going to be one of our best ones.
And it died. I was like, hey, that first 5
minutes though, that shit was fire.
But like literally video one, wegot like 6 views.
(01:47:42):
Video two took me like 30 minutes.
Like you were saying, I didn't even really want to post it and
it did well. So I kind of look at it with
that mentality and I'm like, it's probably bad.
I mean, I don't like it, but we're perfectionist.
We want it to be this specific certain way where like that's
not what people always want. Like when it comes to content
like that especially, they just want something that they can
(01:48:03):
watch while they're waiting for their boss to come back from the
bathroom or something, you know, like, so I just kind of started
focusing on it, on it like that. And not every video is going to
do well. I accept that.
But you know, it's nice to get your guys's perspective on.
That social media is hard though.
There's a lot of expectations from people we don't even know.
We're like hearing like, oh, we need, we have a video on TikTok
(01:48:26):
that's like, you need to be posting this many times a day.
This with this, with this, but it's not going to work like that
for everyone. Like, and then just pushing into
one can like creating. But then once you start putting
yourself in that position where you're like, Oh my God, what are
other people going to like? Which of course we all want, you
know, the content we put out to be liked by others.
But like, ultimately it's alwaysgood to remember how you want
(01:48:49):
your video and you're doing things for you and how you like
it. And just going back to the root
of, oh, I like creating. Like I'm going to create what I
want and this is something good for me and my soul and like what
I'm doing. And it's a plus that all these
other people can like it. And if they don't, cool, like
someone else is going to like it.
(01:49:09):
You know what I mean? No.
You could, yeah. You couldn't have said that more
perfectly. Dude, you said that exactly
perfect like recently. And again, we're going to finish
this up so we can take a little quick to go to the bathroom.
But like, I've kind of been rediscovering that Cuz like we,
we get caught up in there. We're like, we wanna get paid,
we wanna do this, yadda, yadda, yadda.
But then one of us, like we mentioned before, will remind
(01:49:30):
the other like, hey, you know, we're doing this cuz we want to,
you know, like it's hard. We're like literally paying to
do this, but we do it because welike it and because it's fun and
it's a great way to meet interesting people and like,
it's just what we like to do. And so it's a hobby.
It's a hobby, yeah, at the end of the day, because it turns
into a career. If it turns into a job, we're
(01:49:51):
just going to get burnt out and we're not going to want to do
anymore. Yeah, that's one thing I was
going to mention earlier. Sorry.
I know we said we're going to goon a break.
I know you're fine. It's it's too good.
We. Yeah.
And this isn't discrediting likewho and like how we're doing
things, like to anyone, but it'sjust like sometimes it's not for
everyone to take their hobby andput it into a business because
sometimes it yeah, like sometimes it's just it,
(01:50:13):
sometimes it'll just take out the fun right out of it.
And you're just like in this badplace.
I I just feel like it's different for everyone to see
whether you want to take your hobby and turn it into something
like your whole life is like youwant to base that off of.
But sometimes it's good to just keep something as a hobby and
not put that stress into it. My God, you are so wise.
(01:50:36):
That was awesome. OK, I want to keep going, but
somebody, we got it. We got to be disciplined.
So we're going to take a quick ad break and then we'll come
back and we'll continue this discussion.
(01:50:59):

(01:51:45):
Blend with the juice. And so that's why they taste as
good as they do. They're fucking.
Fantastic. That's like, I think your whole
daily percent of sugar that you're supposed to.
Have it's funny you say that because I I have an employee and
every now and then she'll bring us.
You have an employee. I was going to add that earlier.
What the? Fuck.
Holy. Shit, yeah, I have someone who
comes in and helps. That's awesome.
(01:52:06):
Thank you. Yeah.
So she'll bring us like Red Bulls and stuff.
And I think the first time she brought me an Angel Red Bull,
she got us the no sugar. And I think later she asked
again if we wanted Red Bull. And I was like, yeah, just the
regular's fine. Like, it's cool.
And she brought it. And she pointed out she's like,
I brought you guys the regular ones.
I'm sorry if I got you the no sugar.
Last time I didn't know. And I was like, no, it's OK.
(01:52:28):
Like but. I had a no sugar one.
Yeah, the first drink, yeah, thefirst time she brought US1 it
was no sugar, but but yeah, she mentioned it The second time
she's like, sorry, me getting you guys no sugar because I
think that's what she gets. And I was like, no, no need to
apologize. And see so so like I I always
drink 0 sugar because again, thegym.
So I'm always like health conscious of it.
(01:52:49):
But occasionally when I want to be naughty, I will grab a four.
Sugar naughty like what I. Said I'll grab like my favorite,
my favorite energy drink of all time is the original Monster.
And I like grew up drinking that.
And like, again, it could be theway my brain works, but I think
it helps me like focus. It's like Adderall to me.
(01:53:12):
And so I've always loved caffeine, like from a young
child. And I found monster through my
dad. And so I was drinking it when I
was 8 years old and I probably shouldn't have.
So it was like a special. Treat.
Yeah, they're like, hey, if you do this yard work, we'll buy you
a monster. Fuck yeah, I'll do the work.
Where's? My monster at he does 8 hours of
Labor. Legitimately so like again, my
(01:53:32):
my dad works in the beverage industry.
Welcome back everybody. I don't know when we came back
in, but we're in now, so whatever.
And there were so many times where I would get out of work.
I haven't told you this yet, Eddie.
I don't know if I told you this. There were so many times where I
would get out of school regardless if I went to practice
for a sport or not, or I was at a club or not, or if it was just
(01:53:52):
a regular day. And then my dad would pick me up
and he's like, hey, we're gonna go work.
And I'm like, you, mother. And he's, I'll buy you a
monster. I'm like, oh, OK, let's go.
So then like, he would pick me up from, like, wrestling
practice, like 7:00 PM. I'm worn out.
I'm tired. He's like, hey, I need to go
merchandise a store. I'm like you've he's like, I'll
buy you a monster. I'm like OK, so then we go over
(01:54:13):
there and I do like 3 or 4 hoursworth of free labor under his
banner and just throwing their product all over the floor and
helping him stock everything. A monster at like 5:00 PM like a
way after. School, No.
So he wouldn't let me drink it. Then I would have to drink it
the next day, so I would take itto school with me.
OK. I just became obsessed with the
(01:54:36):
flavor. His mouth is watering right now.
The flavor, it's like I love it and because I love it so much I
I only drink it sparingly now because I know how I get and if
I drink it too much it'll ruin it so.
And they're just like, not good for you too, so.
There's that, there's the whole sugar thing, you know, so like 0
(01:54:56):
sugar all the way around becauseit's been proven time and again
that 0 sugar energy drinks, not just Monster but and Celsius you
might want to just stay away from because there are some
things that they don't. Yeah, I assume every, every
beverage like that, like Red Bull, Monster, Celsius.
I, I, I can't, I can't sell Red Bull like I, I can't say that.
(01:55:18):
But I'll be honest. Red Bull doesn't put anything in
their product that's bad. Monster doesn't put anything in
their product that's bad. Ghost doesn't, C4 does, Celsius
does, and there are a couple other brands.
Yeah. I mean, I don't know.
Allegedly. No.
Yeah, don't sue me. I assume that all the the ones
that are no sugar like Celsius and and similar ones have you
(01:55:40):
know everything has has that badstuff in there.
I consider like this, like you guys were talking about on your
travels when you go to these different countries, what
products are available there that are still available?
None ones that you can. Trust no and even the ones that
are available like they're different like even Kit Kats
they're. Totally different.
They look different. They don't even have ranch.
(01:56:03):
What? Wait, what?
What? Ranch, Ranch does not exist in
Europe. I we went to a Greek place and I
asked for ranch with my fries. And the lady looks at me like
huh? And I'm like, can I have ranch?
And she said, what's that? I said.
OK, never mind. Yeah.
(01:56:23):
So ranch does not exist over there.
Hot Cheetos, Takis, turbos, anything red you do not see at
all. At all.
So again, being in connected to that industry, I like, I've seen
different like areas and I try to keep up and like there's only
a few of like our brands too that carry over and one of them
being like that white monster, like that one's almost
(01:56:45):
universally like for the most part, you guys are scratching
your arms at the same time you're saying, Oh my.
God, I feel like something bit me.
Dude, we we do that a lot. You guys are like so synced up
you. Know that's funny because
yesterday I forgot what we were doing, but we were both holding
a drink. Oh, we were in line at Hobby
Lobby and we're just quiet. We're just in our own thoughts.
And then out of nowhere, both ofus start shaking the drink.
(01:57:07):
Shaking our drinks at the same time.
Look. At these damn.
We just heard the ice and we looked at each other and we're
like, can we just do that at thesame time?
We're like, are we meant to be? And we're like, yeah.
Wait, by the way, thank you. Great transition.
You guys are awesome at this. There's a couple of things I got
to ask about the mean post office lady because that had me
rolling. Yeah, but hold on, hold on, hold
(01:57:29):
on. Wow, you know about that?
I I've watched some of his videos from time to time and
like I was oh. Yeah, when I was excusing to
meet me more. What?
Yeah. And I was like, I was watching a
bunch of car stuff and then I was like, let me see what
Angel's posting about so and I was watching your video and then
you're like the mean post office.
Lady, I was like, what? OK.
(01:57:50):
We can touch base on that. So the the engagement and the
wedding, do you guys have like aa date or an idea of what's
gonna happen? Oh.
I don't know if you want to tellus on here if that's something
you're announcing for yourselves, but like, do you
have? I'm like, do you want to talk
about the engagement? Or the wedding.
That's that's the tea, that's what.
I you know what? Let's start.
Let's start at Ground Zero, where all right, where our
(01:58:12):
decision was and where my mind was at, OK?
And I'm like you want to, you know, start it.
OK, Yeah, yeah. So.
Oh. I'm excited.
Hold up. Shit.
I love. Love.
Marriage has always been like a a weird topic for me because I
had never seen any any marriagesthat I that I would be like.
(01:58:35):
Cock blocking. Fuck it, it's that.
Fucking Americans Got Talent. Just not shouting them out.
Eddie, they don't matter. He's telling a story.
So so. Anyway, yeah, I, I had never
seen a a relationship that or like a marriage that I would be
like man, like I want to be, I want to be like them.
Most of the marriages that I hadseen kind of don't, don't, don't
end well in there. They don't look happy or
(01:58:55):
whatever. And experience?
They're usually not. Yeah, and, and, and the one, the
one couple that I would like want to even be close to is like
my parents, but funny enough, they're not married, but they've
been together all my life. So that's kind of how I saw it.
I was just like, well, that's it's not really important to me.
(01:59:16):
And again, this is this was pastme and I would have
conversations with Karen too. Like this isn't, this isn't
something that's a priority to me.
Like it's not, it's not a goal in my life to be, to say, Hey, I
want to be married by X age or whatever.
And I, I was always like that. And, and, and we've had talked
about it before and whatever. And then we moved in together
(01:59:39):
and just by itself, it just kindof started forming in my head
like like, hey, I want to, I want to be, I want to be married
to this lady. And it wasn't like, like
anything to, to make it official.
I just, I just, I, it was just afeeling.
I don't even know how to explainit, but I, I knew it.
(02:00:00):
I knew it. And I was like, how do I do it?
When should I do it? And we had a trip, we had a trip
planned to, to Europe that was gonna be a couple weeks.
And I was like, I'm gonna do it there.
We were gonna visit Italy and then we were gonna visit France
too. So as.
(02:00:20):
Fuck. Shit, I was like, if there's any
place I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it over there.
And so I'm like, cool, now I need to buy a ring and I need to
do it secretly. And I'm, we do everything
together. And she knows, she knows pretty
much everything like we're, we're.
We're two peas in a pod. What the fuck?
(02:00:42):
Holy wow, do you need a? Moment.
That. Was that?
Was that was Whoa. We never get that.
We get like we say the same thing sometimes, but like that
(02:01:04):
was that. Was.
That was fucking do. We got that?
Yeah. That.
Was great check. The recording.
Check the recording. Are we?
Recording. We got that.
OK, fuck. So, yeah, back, back to, to
getting the ring. That was stressful, man, because
I had to find a way to to, to beaway from her and long enough
(02:01:25):
where I can purchase, purchase something and, and her not know
where I'm at. And, and so it was just
complicated. So this one day she she goes out
to to Fry's with her mom or whatever.
I think I was just spending the day with my mom.
Yeah, I think she was spending the day with her mom.
And I was like, shit, here's my chance.
I I go, I go down to, to, to, I think it was like Kay Jewelers
(02:01:46):
or something like that. And I'm like, I'm going to park
far away and I'm going to leave my phone in the car.
So if she checks my location, I'm at Starbucks.
Oh my. God, this guy's.
Sweat. As hell I would not have thought
of. That and like my, my chest was
like pumping out of my, my, my heart was pumping out of my
chest. I was like, oh, before, sorry,
before I even got to Kay jeweler, She was like, Hey, I
(02:02:06):
told her I was going to go to Starbucks to edit a video and
she was like, hey, me and my momwere going to pass through
there. And in my head I was like, fuck,
I was like, I'm not, I'm not really at Starbucks.
So I was already freaking out. And I could see how it
backfires, too. You're like, Oh my God, this is
going to look like I'm lying here.
Her mom's with her. How am I going to explain?
(02:02:28):
That I'm somewhere else and, and, and yeah, so I'm already
freaking out and I'm like, I, I got to be in and out, but how do
I choose a ring with when with such pressure like that?
And I'm in there, I'm like, I'm looking at the rings.
I'm debating between these two and I'm sweating and I'm, I'm
like, you know what? This one's it.
So I, I get the ring, I bet I get back to my car.
(02:02:49):
There's three missed calls and acouple messages.
I was like. Pause.
This is. This is.
An awesome part. So at that point was what were
you assuming because you thoughthe was at the start?
Oh, OK, so again, I'm just with my mom and I mean, we're not
really too well, we don't get too much groceries, but we're
grocery shopping. And I was like, man, this is a
(02:03:10):
chance to get some stuff. And I was like, should I should
I not? So I called him because I
literally it sounds so simple but I was literally calling him
just to see if I should get eggs.
Oh my God. I mean, in this economy, it
under, yeah. That's a financial decision.
Can we afford? It.
No, and I remember calling him in the in the Walmart and it
(02:03:32):
didn't go through once and I waslike OK, well I'll try again.
And I guess I tried 1/3 time butI never got a response.
I was like cool, OK. And I mean we start driving and
it's funny because we're on Valencia and Cardinal.
So that's where my mom lives kind of by.
So we were going to go straight back up home and she mentioned
(02:03:52):
she's like, I get a Starbucks. And I was like, oh, OK, so like
we can take Irvington. And that's when I had told him,
yeah, that's when I told. Him.
I was like we. Might see you, we might see you,
'cause we might pass through there.
And yeah, that that's where we're at right now.
But I didn't end up actually going to Starbucks, though we
(02:04:12):
didn't end up going. Yeah, I ended up getting the
ring and and hiding it in my carfor a long time.
So it was, I think we, it was like I had it for like 3 months
before I proposed or we went on that trip.
So yeah, the the ring was a successful operation.
And wait, so while you were in the store, like how did how did
you choose? Did you see when you're like
(02:04:33):
that's the one? Or did you know like what kind
of cut she wanted? Like did you get a Princess cut
or like a fuck I know too much about this.
I, I didn't, they didn't even tell me about that.
I just showed whatever one I I feel like matched her her in the
best way and I think it was I was debating between a gold one
and A and a silver one or a white gold 1 and I ended up
(02:04:55):
getting the white gold which turns out I didn't know she
didn't really like gold. I don't like gold.
Gold, I mean, I do like it, but it's not my preference.
I prefer silver. Yeah, and white gold.
It's basically like almost silver, so it counts.
I love it by the way. Yeah, yeah.
I mean, I've seen, I've seen sparkles.
I'm like, Oh my God, yes, good for her.
(02:05:16):
She deserves that. Yeah, so I I end up getting the
ring and we end up going on thistrip.
Holy crap, man. But the nerves, the nerves were
building up. I'm telling you this one time we
were in the car and she just randomly says every kiss begins
with K. And that's where I bought the
ring. And I was just like, she knows,
(02:05:40):
she knows. Like the song?
Yeah, yeah, the little. Jingle.
Yeah, it's the Jingle. No, I mean she knows.
Like the song, she knows. She knows.
She knows, she knows. You made a double reference, you
know, double on time. Yeah, Kendrick Onomatopoeia.
Yeah, so she says that and she just says it for whatever
reason. And I'm just like.
(02:06:01):
Do you remember that instinct? I do, but it's just, it's a
catchy Jingle like. Lucky when he when he said that
I was singing, yeah. Ray.
Every kids because OK. Automatically saying it to
myself once or twice. Like shit.
Shit's catchy. I don't know who thought of.
It that's hilarious though. I had no idea at all.
There's a fun fact too. Every kiss does become OK.
Yep, they are right. Did.
(02:06:25):
You guys, I, I, I just found that out.
I'm. Gonna talk to you.
After the show, because this can't go on anyway.
We're we're we're leading up to the days of this vacation.
I'm. Sorry, I'm sorry.
That's what I call it, Eddie. They.
They have a special place in my heart.
So as you were saying. Yeah.
(02:06:45):
So we're, we're leading up to this vacation and it's the first
flight out, I think it was Phoenix, Phoenix to JFK, which
is in New York and then JFK to CDG, which is.
And you guys got The Dirty dogs. The Dirty dogs.
We actually. Oh, after when we came back,
yes, we. Did.
Yeah, Yeah, we did on the way back because we were.
I remember that shit. Yeah, we were only in New York
(02:07:05):
for a couple hours the first thefirst go of it.
And while we were walking on thefirst flight, she was vlogging
and she says she says look at uswalking down the aisle.
And I said I love walking down the aisle.
Yeah. So here I am with the ring in my
backpack and I'm just like, why did she say that?
And it's so funny because I don't know if you guys seen
(02:07:27):
those memes and it's like, I love walking down the aisle and
literally it's like the plane, like the plane, the little aisle
you go into boarding a plane. And that's why I was referring
to it. And funny enough, like I was, I
did vlog that trip up until we got there.
That's where I stopped. But I lost my train of thought.
What was? I saying I've actually never
(02:07:47):
seen that meme, so I'm like, yeah.
I had two like. OK, I would have been like, did
she know? Yeah, but basically I was
vlogging. So I got his reaction of when I
said that. Yeah.
And, well, little did I know that I was going to get proposed
to that trip. But in the video, he's just
like. I just tried not to make a face.
I was just like, I was just ignoring her.
(02:08:08):
Like it was brushed over. Try so hard not to say nothing.
Obviously she's like, why is it He say?
Nothing. Yeah, like that.
Might be weird. Yeah.
Yeah. It's so.
So we're there for, I think the first.
I think it was the third day that I proposed.
Third day. Uh huh.
Yeah. The third day we were in
Versailles in France and we're in this beautiful hotel called
(02:08:30):
the Palace of Versailles and it was the second time we had
stayed there and they they coincidentally upgraded us to
one of the best rooms they had. It was a corner suite with two
balconies on on the corner. And it's just amazing.
It's it's so green there. There's so much like wildlife.
I just it's so beautiful that we.
Get your rooms upgraded a. Lot we do, yeah, Yeah.
(02:08:52):
And that one was a complimentary1, which was which was weird.
And shout out to Amex. So yeah.
Yeah, yeah, they, they, they, they hooked us up to.
Amex man, I'll I'll bye. I'll try.
Fuck it, maybe I'll get lucky. Yeah, so we were, it was just,
it was just already a really good, a really good time.
And by the third day, I just felt it in my gut that it was
(02:09:15):
the day that it was going to happen.
And we woke up, we went to breakfast at the free breakfast
they had their breakfast is amazing, by the way, there, it's
free. But it was so good.
So I just, I had the ring in my pocket though the whole time.
And while we were having breakfast and all that, I could
see in the distance it's just like a very big park or very,
it's just so green and you just have miles to walk in and
(02:09:38):
whatever. I was like, you want to take a
walk after breakfast? And she was like, yeah, so, so
cool. I was like, you want to head up
to the room and grab a tripod just in case.
We want to take some pictures. And in my head I'm like smart
get this set up real so. Question before you continue,
did you have an idea of how you want to do it or where you want
to do it? Or you were kind of like, I'm
going to go with the flow and see like what the universe where
(02:10:00):
life gives me, like the opportunity.
That that is what happened. But the days and weeks and
months leading up to it, I was brainstorming on how to do it.
Should I do it? Should I rent out a boat in
Italy? Because we're going to be in
Lake Como, so there's a lot of boat rentals.
It's really beautiful. Do I do it?
Do I make it a cliche and do it under the Eiffel Tower?
You know, I had I had a ton of ideas.
(02:10:21):
Should I do it? Like, should I film something
and have her look away? And then and then, you know, I
just had a ton of ideas, but forsome reason that day just spoke
to me and I was like, I think this is it.
So we go on that walk and the whole time my chest is like
beating and my hands are in my pocket.
(02:10:41):
I'm feeling the ring and we got,I was just looking for the right
spot to do it. And we see this giant tree, like
huge 5080 feet up in the air andit was bushy and it was just
beautiful. And I was like, let's take a
let's take a couple pictures there.
So she sets up the tripod. Cool.
I have the the ring in my in my hand and I'm like I'm waiting
(02:11:03):
for, I'm getting. There, I know, I'm getting into
it. The ring in.
My pocket, I have the ring in mypocket and I'm just, I'm just
fiddling with it, spinning it around and she's walking towards
me and I'm like, cool, we're going to post for a couple
pictures and then, and then I'lldo it.
And she, she walked right past me and towards the tree.
(02:11:24):
And I was just like, OK, well, Iguess I'm going to wait a little
bit. Yeah.
I was just. Like she walked right past me
and that's when I took the ring out and I showed the camera
because she was behind me. And I was like, and I put it
back in my pocket and she gets close to me again and I see a
dog in the distance. I was like, hey, look at the
dog. And she turned around and she's
like, whoa, that's how I I, I got down on my knee and I could
(02:11:45):
just feel myself shaky. And then, yeah, that's that's
that's something happened. What was your what was your
thought process is how this was happening like when you when
he's all let's go for a walk. Did you think of anything of?
It no, not at all. And I always tell him like I I'm
AI don't know. I always say I don't like
surprises because I feel like I can genuinely never be
(02:12:07):
surprised. Like there's always like I can
always suspect something or something that makes it not a
surprise. And I'm like, OK, but I swear he
did such a good job because I was shook.
I I did not expect it one big, even with all my jokes and stuff
like that, like I was not catching on one bit.
I was. Like in the future.
(02:12:28):
So I, he kind of said earlier that he came from a background
where that wasn't really a thing.
You growing up, did you ever imagine like the wedding, the
gay? It's funny because how he says
like he didn't really see good marriages and sadly I didn't
either. So I don't know where I even
like got the idea, but I knew I wanted to be married.
(02:12:50):
I knew I wanted I just feel likeit's that commitment to a
person, you know what I mean? And I always like just explain
to him too that it was somethingthat I wanted, but it wasn't
like a deal breaker. Like I wasn't going to be like 5
years from now and be like, hey,if you don't marry me like I'm a
leave you like 100% never crossed my mind.
And I would never want to put himself, put him in that
(02:13:13):
position and put myself in that position because like, why force
someone to do something, You know what I mean?
And I mean, I love him and I respected him opening up to me
and just saying like, hey, like,I don't see that as a priority.
But he always told me like, he'slike, I'm not saying it's never
going to happen, but it's just not something that I see like
(02:13:36):
that needs to happen. So like in that proposal, it was
just like so many emotions. And I told him I was like, I
changed your mind. Like it was just, it was
beautiful. Fucking.
Beautiful. Yeah, Yeah.
Man, I'm gonna die alone. Let's make the pack 35.
We're both single brothers. Just fucking do it.
(02:13:57):
Do. It not not, no, not me, not me,
not not with you. It's not.
It's not you, it's me. That's what the last three said,
so I know there's a pattern. I get it.
Wait, did you tell anybody priorthat you were going to propose?
I I was so scared of it getting getting leaked so I only told
(02:14:17):
one person and that one person managed to tell and almost
ruined the surprise. Yeah.
I told her dad so I can ask him for permission.
We were at. I see.
I like that you did that. That's not something people do
anymore. Yeah, so I, I just wanted to get
his his approval and and he was like, he was like, yeah, of
course, Miko, like you were always part of the family and he
(02:14:40):
was really nice about it. And I was like, hey, just this
is she doesn't know this is let's keep this a secret.
And you want to let them know how they almost?
Yeah, so then blown up, so I have my mom's side of the family
and my dad's side of the family, they're separated.
So my dad, which I'm sure he wasa very excited.
(02:15:01):
He's probably I don't really talk to my dad's side of the
family. I only see him every now and
then when I go to like like functions and stuff like that.
But I'm sure he thought, well, no one on my side of the family
is going to tell her, so let me go ahead and tell everyone.
Oh my God. Yeah, and that's.
The one person. The one and only person I told.
Yeah, so I'm sure my whole family knew.
(02:15:24):
And it's funny because the morning of with that breakfast,
before we went to breakfast, I had a text from one of my aunts.
And she didn't like, say, like flat out like I was going to get
proposed to, obviously. But she's like, like, oh, she
said it in Spanish, but she basically said, Oh my God, like,
I love you. You're going to have such a
great time. And and you're going to like,
(02:15:46):
things are going to happen that you don't even suspect.
Like, yeah. So I mean, luckily even then I
didn't take it as like a oh, something's going to happen.
But then after the proposal, I was like, no way.
She almost gave the secret away.Like I was just shook too.
I was just like, she's. Straight upset.
You're going to, you're going tothings are going to happen that
(02:16:07):
you wouldn't expect. Like, why would you say that?
Yeah. Like.
That you know, I saw this recently and I didn't understand
it at first, but then I thought about it and I was like, oh,
that makes sense because it was a fucking TikTok and again, I
don't watch tik Toks, but it wason Instagram and I'll watch
reels. So that's why I have to be
careful. And it popped up and it's like,
how come you don't let people take phones to your wedding?
(02:16:28):
It was like an edit or something.
And then it showed a picture of some girl, like taking a picture
of the bride and groom at the wedding.
And I was like, I don't get it. She's taking a beautiful
picture. But then I looked closer and she
was posting on her story. So before the bride and groom
could ever, like, take pictures and show everybody what the
wedding was, she had already showed the whole world.
And I was like, like, I know you're excited.
(02:16:51):
Shut the fuck up, please. You know, like and I'm not
directly. Oh no, no, you're fine.
You know, like I I get that now.So like and I'm dude, I feel
your stress like 'cause you weredealing with that for months
without telling anyone. I I feel your pain.
My own parents. Really.
(02:17:13):
Holy shit. I did dude, I had that burning
inside of me for. He's like, I can't tell my
friends, I can't tell nobody else.
I. Can't.
I can't even trust my own parents with the secret.
Little did I know her dad was helped to.
Tell everybody, man. Oh man.
He just gets excited and I mean,it is what it is.
Luckily, the secret didn't come out.
(02:17:34):
So I mean, no male intent to my aunt either.
She was just excited and happy for me.
But yeah, there was part of me that was just like, wow, like I
was close. I don't know.
I catch on pretty good to things.
So it's just like I could have and that could have really like,
you know, blown it up. Yeah, I'm glad that nothing was
revealed. Yeah, me too.
(02:17:54):
But man, that was close. But.
Let me tell you, he proposed to me and that was probably like a
8, maybe like 9:10 in the morning in Europe time.
But you guys were asleep like you.
It was probably like 3 AM, 4:00 AM here.
So then me with that suspense deal to tell everyone, like I
had to wait hours for everyone to wake up.
(02:18:16):
Yeah. And I'm like I.
Had to wait six in the morning. You're like, wait, OK.
This. Yeah.
Exactly. I had a nightmare.
This person cheated on me. You're like, hold on, that
doesn't matter. Let me tell you something.
What was going on? Like I yeah, that's so initial
thoughts, like right afterwards, like what, what were you
feeling? What were you feeling in the
(02:18:36):
moment? Just like everything.
Was it overwhelming? Was it like?
I was just so happy, Yeah, it was just so much like.
Did it hit you like right away or were you still in shock?
I think there's a point where I'm just looking at I'm like.
Like really? And Are you sure?
And yeah, and I guess like you do see proposal videos and you
always see the guys are like, really like, like you're like,
(02:18:58):
yeah, no shit. Like he's on one knee.
Like say yes, but it really is just like, Oh my God, like
really? So yeah, it was just like a
bunch of emotions. Obviously I was super happy and
I said yes right away, but but yeah.
Was there anyone around like anybystanders who were watching
the? The dog that was really funny.
Well, I mean the yeah, it had a owner, it wasn't just like a
(02:19:20):
stray dog, but like I where theywere like really far.
So yeah. It was, it was very private.
It was, it was really nice. And I loved it.
It was perfect. It was.
It happened the way it was supposed to.
Yeah, everything, everything lined up the way it was supposed
to. That's awesome.
You said such a high bar man. It's guys like.
Yeah. That said like like what the
(02:19:40):
fuck are we supposed to do now? I gotta go run out of.
Here I gotta. I gotta do some crazy shit.
I gotta get dolphins to synchronize with music.
I. Have to buy doves now.
Like no. Man, it's, it's about the
feeling, it's not about the the the price of of what you spend.
It's not about the the extravagance of your proposal.
(02:20:00):
It's just, it's whatever feels right, like.
Well I feel like buying doves fucking.
Beautiful. He's so good.
You're you're lucky. You're lucky.
Yeah, you guys are both lucky. I.
Am I'm very lucky like how she was saying it's it.
I, I don't think it's something you should force on people
because I've seen that in almostevery relationship.
Like if we're not married by this time, I'm leaving you.
(02:20:22):
And why? Why pressure somebody into that,
regardless of if it's him or herinto doing that?
Like now you're they're doing itbecause it's an ultimatum rather
than because it's a, it's a feeling that they want.
Like now, now they're not marrying you because they
genuinely want to do it at this time, but they're marrying you
because you set a time limit forthem.
(02:20:44):
I don't, I don't think that's fair to either of them.
It's it's. That's just that's just setting
them up for failure. Yeah, it.
Is basically. You're starting at a failure.
It's just even as a person setting the ultimatum, it's just
how I, I don't, I don't understand how someone would be
like, OK with saying that to someone, like you have to marry
(02:21:05):
me or I'm going to leave you because it's just like, well,
damn. Like, yeah, they're going to
marry you. But like, wouldn't there be a
part of you that's like I told him to like you don't?
Care. They don't care about their
feelings or what they're going through at that point or the
fact they were working 80 hour work weeks in my own personal
life. I mean, luckily it's just it's
(02:21:26):
worked out for us. It's always worked out for us.
And just to think that I met himat 10 years old is so crazy.
That that. Yes, yeah.
Holy. OK, you know.
You go ahead. You, you guys are are what are
they called? Elementary school sweetheart.
There you go. Thank you.
Thank you. You guys are legit our
elementary school sweethearts. Yeah, it's.
(02:21:47):
And that's like super fucking rare.
Wait, pause because I don't wantany of you to steal my question.
Who liked to 1st? Well, that's a good.
One I did, I I remember the first time I met her that the
first time I saw her. So it's funny because this is
gonna this I can feel. It hold on hold.
On just one second I. Agree.
(02:22:08):
They're scarred man right? This is man.
This story goes deep. I think we could be here for
like 10 hours. But kind of crap.
So okay, we're good. So I had just moved back from
Mexico because I was living in Mexico for like 2-3 years.
Oh, I think you had mentioned that last time you were on the
(02:22:30):
show. Sorry.
Yeah, no. It's 2010, fifth grade.
Yeah, 2010, fifth grade, it's myfirst day of school, first time
being back in an in an English speaking school.
So I was still getting used to like the lingo, the language,
like what is cool? What is it?
You know, I'm just, I'm just trying to fit in like, like you
say, I my first day I was wearing a Mohawk for whatever.
(02:22:50):
Whatever. At 10 years old.
Yeah, at 10 years old and I had these, I had, I had weird ideas
of, of society and I was, I was like a little chunky back then.
And and I, I remember seeing herfor the the first day of school
and the first day of school, shewas up front presenting the
drawings that she had made that she had painted during the
(02:23:10):
summer. So I remember seeing her and I
remember thinking to myself, well, I'm chunky and she's
skinny, so I don't think, I don't think we can be the guy,
which is weird. Why was I thinking that at 10
years old? I don't know where I got that
notion from. Society.
Yeah, it's society. I thought.
I thought that before, too. Yeah.
I see like, so I, I, I feel bad for my, for myself back then to
even like have believed that, you know, so I, I immediately
(02:23:34):
had a crush on her while like seeing her present her drawings.
And I mean, she probably didn't see me because she was in front
of the class. But after that, I think they
they sat us together. They sat us together.
And then we just became friends there, OK?
Pause. What was your first impression
of him at that point? Did boy do you remember I?
Don't I? Don't I?
(02:23:55):
So you weren't? Even really at any.
I'm just kidding. I don't remember like the first
like look and stuff like that but I remember our teacher
sitting us next to each other and us just becoming really good
friends and then we getting a crush on him.
Oh, this is so adorable. Oh.
(02:24:15):
Man. So my manly side is starting to
break down with this story. Like my heart is melting right
now. Yeah, my heart's melting too, in
a different way, but fuck man, you guys are beautiful.
Don't let my pain interrupt thismoment.
So like you said that you started to develop a crush at
(02:24:36):
him like on him. When did you really start to see
that like? Manifest.
So to speak, like was. I think it just progressed in
the year. I mean, I feel like from an
early age we just knew we alwaysliked each other and, well, then
you have like the little kid stuff of oh, Angel told Karen.
If you wanted to be my his. Girlfriend, I think I I I asked
(02:24:59):
you what? Somebody else?
Yeah, yeah. Somebody else asked for.
Who was it? Was it Oscar?
I think so, yeah. Well, he just sent a friend to
ask me if I wanted to be his girlfriend.
Oh man, this guy was. On it and.
I was on it. I mean, obviously I said yes.
And then I remember walking fromfrom lunch back into class, and
(02:25:20):
I think everyone in line was like, talking about it.
Yeah. So then we're all like sitting
down. We're all sitting down.
Everyone's like, rowdy. And then I remember our teacher.
And she's like, all right, guys, like, stop talking.
Like we all know, Angel and Karen are dating.
Like they all. Know, yeah.
So wait question because this happened to me like when middle
school dating and I'm entry school dating all that stuff.
(02:25:44):
Did they like, try to like forceyou guys like cold hands and.
Say Oh yeah. In 5th grade they forced us to
make out which we didn't even know.
Yeah, I. Happen to be I feel that but.
It was, it was the weirdest thing ever.
But I mean, it's just. Wait, was that you guys first
kiss? Too hard as our.
First, it was our first kiss. It was.
(02:26:05):
And I think I have a picture of it.
What? Yeah, if I, if I log into my old
Facebook, I think I have that picture and it's add Drexel on
the playground after school, after school.
Because it was just like truth or dare.
Yeah, I can't. Believe that was our first kiss.
It's a. It's a.
(02:26:25):
It was magic. That's when the sparks.
Magic. That's fucking awesome.
That's what you said. This whole story, it's like,
damn, it's really. We're meant to be peas in a pot.
A very long story. Yeah, it's, it's, it's been,
it's been crazy. And I mean, we've obviously been
through through a whole lot together within this decade and
1/2 that we've known each other. But I I mean it only makes us
(02:26:48):
stronger I guess and. You see the way he looks?
At it. Yeah, yeah.
That's, that's a load. And like when he's talking, I
know she's staring. Yeah.
They're they're Devin and and Eddie aren't even here.
Like literally like there, thereare several moments where
they're just staring at each other and I look at you and I'm
like, dude, they're having. A moment.
(02:27:08):
We should leave. Let's go get some.
Food for real? I'll close my own door.
I'll leave them. Here they won't notice, it won't
turn out the mics to be courteous, you know, we'll come
back in an hour, maybe 2 and. Lock the door, please.
You know, we'll buy some new sheets while we're out, you
know, let. Them out there, I'll buy a new
(02:27:29):
bed too. You already bought these chairs,
You. Might as well.
Yeah, I'm halfway there. Yeah, so it's it's been, it's
been a crazy ride from 5th gradeuntil now.
Like it's, I mean, we're just, we just kind of hang out
everyday really. And it's true.
Like there's times where we're like just even doing nothing and
we're like, wow, like you're really my best friend, huh?
(02:27:50):
Like we're really just here and we.
Just. We know how lucky we are also,
like it's just cool to to just let it be known and we're like,
wow, like we really enjoy each other's company and we're still
not tired of each other. We're still.
Not tired of each other. We're still not.
We still find things to talk about and.
(02:28:11):
Yeah. Dude, I lost my best friend
already. Devins heartbroken.
Tell us about your heartbreak. I want to hear about that.
All right, Eddie, sit down. Lay.
Back No I. I won't tell the whole the mood
was too light right now. Let's go dark, yeah?
We can go dark and we can I think it's better that I do talk
(02:28:32):
about it cuz it for whatever reason, it's coming back up.
Remember when I texted you the other day you put a question
mark? Yeah.
So why are you messaging? Me, so there's this person
that's been in my life for goingon like 10 years and it's very,
it's been a very, very painful 10 years because of how we both
(02:28:52):
mismanaged. The fuck?
Yeah, I'm gonna go to. The bed I'm summarizing, man,
I'm trying to be different. I'm.
Already here, I'm out. He's so we met in middle school,
me and Eddie, you know, we all went to the same middle school.
And I've said on the show, but Idon't know if I told you guys I
used to know him as the damn kidbecause I don't know if you guys
remember this, but Eddie used tolike, say, damn.
(02:29:12):
I I do now that you say it like it like pops into my head.
He would no, he would go damn like loud in class for no
reason. I'm like what?
The. Fuck.
And so he had done that and I thought it was the funniest shit
ever. So I'm like, I would see him.
I'm like, hey Eddie, do the damn.
He's all damn. And then we would shake hands
and he would walk away. That's it.
But then the same year that I met this girl was the same year
(02:29:36):
that me and him got a class together for the first time.
I was like, hey, this is the damn kid.
So then me, him and her, we all started bonding class like and I
had, that's why I really got to know her.
That's why I really got to know him.
But I had met her a little bit beforehand.
So that was 2015 sophomore year, right?
(02:29:59):
I had met her in freshman year on like the first or second week
of school and it's painful because it was that it was
exactly like you with her. And I guess in this instance you
guys were able to work through everything and you're on the
other side of it, right? So I had saw her and even at the
(02:30:20):
time she like looked different than what she would later like
look like. So to her like it was when she
was ugly. I saw her and I was like, that
is the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen.
I was like shocked, like my jaw dropped to the floor and I was
like flabbergasted. And I noticed her instantly and
I was just like, like my heart started beating faster and I was
(02:30:43):
like what the hell? And she disappeared.
And then like 2-3 weeks later, there was an instance where I
was at school really early and she was there with her friends
and I went to the cafeteria and I sat at a table by myself
because I didn't really have a lot of friends.
I wasn't friends with him yet. And so I was there early
listening to music and her and her friend group were at a table
(02:31:06):
nearby. And I don't know if she had said
something to start the conversation or if they were
just instigating. But it got to a point where
they're like calling me over to talk to her.
So I was like, no, like I'm not,I'm not comfortable.
Whatever they're calling me over, they're like, come talk to
her, come talk to her, yada yada.
So then I walk over there and I'm like nervous because again,
I don't really know nobody. I'm like a social outcast at
(02:31:26):
that point. And so I like walk over and then
they're like ask her out like yada yada.
Like she says you're cute, yada yada.
And I was like, no, she didn't cuz like I hated myself.
And then they're like just ask her out.
And I was like, will you go out with me?
And she like put her head down and I was like, see.
And so that I walked away and I knew it was the same girl, but
like I just didn't know how to how to handle it.
(02:31:47):
Like I didn't want to be rejected.
So like, I was already rejectingmyself.
And then for the rest of the school year, I never saw her
again because we ended up getting different lunches and we
hung out with a completely different crowd.
So I just never saw her. So it wasn't until sophomore
year where we got that class where I met this dork over here
that. Geometry.
(02:32:07):
What? Happened first no with the
vanos. I love her.
Yeah, we really can't. Can't.
You want to know who it is? Yes.
Yeah. OK, I'll beep it out.
It was, I saw her, you know, first week of school.
And I like to be vulnerable here.
Like I fell in love at first sight, right?
(02:32:28):
And I was just like, I don't know what it is, but there's
something about her that just I love, you know, like I could
tell. And then when I actually got a
chance to meet her in the class, like, I walked in and she was
already sitting down and I saw her and I was like, that girl's
hot. Like, because you're 15.
So. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah, and she kind of had a
glove, so she wasn't wearing herglasses anymore.
(02:32:50):
She started styling her hair differently.
And I was like, I noticed her islike, I was like, is that the
same? I was like, no, it's not the
same because they look like two different people.
And it wasn't until later I was like, oh shit, it's the same
person. And I was like, that's weird
because then the teacher sat me directly next to her.
And I was like, yes, let's. Fucking go, right?
(02:33:12):
And so then initially, like I had told other people, I felt
for her because I thought she was beautiful.
I thought she was the most beautiful girl that I had ever
seen. But the reason that I kept
talking to her was because then I fell in love with the girl
inside and I realized that inside she was even more
beautiful. And more than that, we were just
(02:33:34):
so compatible. Like we kind of like you guys
would just talk for hours and hours and hours and hours.
And in the beginning, it was always about getting to know
each other. As we continue to stay friends
and go through the years of highschool, it started to become
about other people, which I think is important to note now
because, you know, as I'm all heartbroken.
We hear whatever. Because they were like they're
(02:33:57):
little signs where I'm like, those were instances where I
should have had self respect, like pulled away.
But because I was so head over heels, it became an unbalanced
relationship for such a long time.
And so all throughout high school, it was like a scenario
where the people that knew us were like, it's a matter of time
before you guys get together. But internally, like, I knew I
(02:34:20):
wanted to be with her. I just didn't know how to voice
it. And every time I kind of did, it
was always like in a immature kind of way and in a way that
she could write off is not beingserious.
OK, right. Which I didn't realize at the
time. So I was like she's just
rejecting me because I'm ugly orI'm.
Fat like swiping up on a snap or.
Yeah, well, no, not nothing likethat, but like.
Just kind of jokingly. Yeah, I would be like, you know,
(02:34:42):
wouldn't it be crazy if we like got together?
Wouldn't it be crazy? If we just kissed right now.
OK. Do we have like the same hand?
Like how big is your hand? You know, like we do shit like
that, right? But like she would play into it
and there were instances where we would be like at lunch and
like she's feeding me or I'm feeding her, or she would like
grab my hand and we would walk together to places or she would
(02:35:05):
tell people that we're dating orwhatever it is, right?
So I'm like, she likes me. So then I worked up the courage
to tell her and the granite, I was like 15 1/2.
So when I told her that I liked her and that I wanted something,
I told her through Snapchat. I told her on text because that
was the only way I could really.Do Yeah, yeah, dude, we've all
been there. We've all been there.
And so like I told her and I threw my phone across the room
(02:35:26):
and I ran into another room. And I remember the blanket I.
Was like I don't. Want to know?
Like don't answer, she answered.Yeah, no, don't look.
I don't want to. She's typing.
She's typing. So it popped up and she's like
she's typing and I was like oh fuck.
I was like, I'm not looking and like she was typing.
She was typing and I was like, this is either going to go good
(02:35:47):
or bad. And then she stopped typing and
I was like. I'm gathering the thoughts.
I'm like, yeah, gathering the thoughts, gathering the
thoughts. And I'm like, I need a referee.
I need somebody I can talk to about this.
And I was like my whole family. Where's Eddie when you need
them? Again, like we were becoming.
Friends with Yeah. Close at that point.
So I was like, I can't call the weird damn kid to ask him this.
(02:36:09):
Like what? The weird kid?
He's he's, he's gonna answer andbe like he'll be.
Like duh, Is that why you say myname like that?
Something. No, no, no.
I never thought of thought of that connection so.
I'll just ask. So like I, I told her that first
time and then she kind of said like, no, I don't think like we
should date right now, like yadda, yadda, I don't see her
(02:36:31):
working, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, you know what, I
can respect that decision. I'm sorry.
And she goes, I still want us tobe like in each other's lives
though. I was like, yeah, of course.
And I was like, I'm just going to need a couple days.
So then eventually we went back to normal routine and then after
that it got even more intimate to some degree.
So like, now we're planning outfits with each other and
(02:36:51):
we're meeting each other's families, and I'm going over to
her house and like, we did dietstogether, like fad diets.
And, you know, like, she would start to get a little bit more
territorial to a degree. Like if she saw me talking to
other girls, she'd be like, who is that?
So at first it was a, it was a like a polite rejection, but it
moved on as if it wasn't a rejection.
(02:37:11):
Almost right. Like it was kind of like that.
Like we weren't doing anything intimate, like physically, but
like it was there was. Emotionally, yeah.
Emotionally it was very intimateand it would turn into like our
little texting on Snapchat turned into phone calls and then
phone calls turned into 5 minutes to five hours.
And then it turned into US falling asleep on the phone
(02:37:32):
together multiple times. Then you know, her asking me to
stay on the phone and her just like opening up being like
you're the only one that I can feel vulnerable with.
But then at some point, I was like getting to the point where
I was like, I need, I want to ask her out again, Like I want
to do it better this time. And then some dude got involved
(02:37:53):
and then they started to, you know, date and they start to
talk. And so then it turned into her
trying to ask me for advice. And I was like.
Oh no, I was. Like I can't, I can't do this.
And I, like I responded in the only way that I could as a 16
year old. I was like, you made your choice
so you're going to have to deal with it.
(02:38:14):
I'm going to go move on and findsomebody who will appreciate me
like you guys are dating now. That's great.
Focus on you. So then I ended up finding the
girl who would later become my ex-wife.
(02:38:40):
Hey, editing Devin here. So sorry about the weird cut,
but I had to cut a large sectionof the episode out because for
the next like hour and a half, we just kind of talked about my
love life. And although I talked about all
of that on the show, I just really don't feel comfortable
continuing to talk about it and bringing it up and making a an
(02:39:02):
aspect of the show. So I cut all of the important
details out to save some time and to, you know, give myself a
little privacy here. So hopefully that's OK.
That's cool. You know, and this is kind of
like it took up most of the episodes.
So we're at the tail end here. So there's not very much of it
(02:39:26):
left because we kind of got carried away with that
conversation. So we'll be closing up the show
here soon. Just thank you to everybody who
supported us who's listening to this.
I appreciate all of you. Thank you for tuning in.
Bye. And there's a lot of reasons for
(02:39:58):
that, but like I told myself this time, I'm not going to do
that. So that's the full story.
Thank you guys for listening. Wow, I appreciate it, man.
I didn't mean for it to go this long or get this dark again.
Eddie, I'm sorry you've heard this like 40 times.
And then lived through it. I know.
Are you OK? Are you?
Do you need anything buddy? I'm just tired.
(02:40:18):
Talk us through what you're feeling right now.
I'm just tired, my head hurts, my eyes hurt.
Are you Are you ready to start wrapping it up soon?
Yeah, very soon. OK.
Very soon I have to. I have to wake up in six hours.
I'm sorry. OK.
Yeah, I forgot about that. I got carried.
I know. We talked about it.
We're like we won't get too. Crazy.
Yeah, Yeah, we, yeah. And there's still so much I
(02:40:39):
wanted to talk to you guys about.
So I think at some point we'll definitely have to bring you
guys. Yeah, part three-part 3.
It's not to be Part 2 for. You Part 2 for you guys.
Part 3 for you, yeah. Yeah, I mean, it, it was fun.
I yeah, Heck yeah. I don't mean, I don't mind it if
if you're comfortable in this enough to open up to us about
that. I mean, that's that's also.
(02:41:02):
No. And I guess I think I appreciate
you guys just listening to it and just giving your input
because I always value that. I think it's just cool that we
weren't in like the same same wave of like friends, you know,
but we all, we all knew of each other.
We went to the same school and Ijust think it's so cool to see
us as adults now and like just learn things that we didn't know
about each other. Now it's just really cool and.
(02:41:23):
It's really cool. I'm glad that we can do this.
And again, thank you guys for being here.
Like thank you for just your time today, like your energy,
your time, everything. It was awesome.
Yeah, yeah. Thank.
You. Oh yeah.
Yeah. Thank you.
You guys help me reflect a lot of myself because I'm really big
on reflecting and all that and you know, just being around you
guys really like, I guess boost my energy, so to speak.
(02:41:43):
So thank. You Oh, that's cool.
That's really good. I'm.
Glad I'm next time we really have to talk about you guys a
little bit more though. 'Cause I don't, I feel.
Like this was way too much aboutme.
Like I'm telling them shit that the fans I've already heard too.
Like this is crazy. Like, I'm sorry.
No, man. It, it, it was like, we're
catching up too, 'cause it's kind of like, yeah, we're
getting to know each other and. We started off with the keyword
(02:42:04):
ex-wife and that's. What?
Yeah, we said what we said, Ex. Wife.
And when I told you, I was like, sit down.
Like I was like, I'm gonna tell them everything in 10 minutes
and be done. But then I was like, fuck, it's
bleeding in. Oh, no, everything's coming out.
Oh, shit, no, I'm so sorry. And like, I'm like, these guys
are gonna get tired. I look at Eddie.
He's like, I was like, no, Eddie, I'm sorry.
But it's just, it's 'cause I've heard the story 20 times, that's
(02:42:30):
it. And he's had to edit it 20 times
too. Well, probably like three times
the other times where it was him, but fuck.
Yeah, I feel bad for future me this weekend because I'm going
to have to be editing this goingfuck, he told the story again.
And what the fuck? No man, that sounds like a crazy
(02:42:51):
heartbreak. And 1/2.
That's a double heartbreak. Yeah.
Again, there were girls in between that I don't like to
look at as in between, but they would help heal me and make me
realize things about myself. And so then that's part of the
reason why I stopped quote UN quote hoeing around, even though
it wasn't really hoeing around. It was just relationship
(02:43:11):
hopping. And that's why now like I'm not
focused on any of that. Like, and I still feel the old
me come out like I'll be in public and I'll see a girl
that's attractive. I'm like, Nope, Nope, Nope.
Don't even engage. Go back to what you're doing.
It's not. It's not about that.
Yeah, So what do? What do you think?
Cuz I can't, I can't even tell you what I think.
Which one would be the worst? Heartbreak #1 or #2?
(02:43:36):
Clock. I don't that's a good question.
I think #1 would be a lot worse.Feel like that one was the most
agonizing in terms of time. I mean, I can give it for #2 for
being straight up with you, like, you know, yeah #1.
Day I'm I like another dude and you know, I'm like, OK, cool.
At least she like could tell me,you know #1 is just like playing
(02:43:58):
around with her own emotions too.
So like I think #1 hurts only because it it's like a cycle
thing. It happens like every so often
and it always gets a messy because of how involved we.
Get So the first time you met her was in 2015. 2014. 2014 and
you stopped talking in 2024. So met in 2014, then we became
(02:44:23):
friends in 2015. We stayed friends until 2017 and
then we stopped talking. Then we read this, we
reconnected and let's just say beginning of 2023, we stayed
friends and in each other's lives throughout the entirety of
2023 up until I gave her the ultimatum and we stopped
talking. And then midway through 2024,
(02:44:45):
she reached out, we started talking again.
And then I, we just went our separate ways.
There was no like, I'm dropping you, you're dropping me.
We just kind of stopped talking and I accepted it because I was
like, she's acting different. And that's another thing too.
She was started like hanging outwith different people.
So I think that played a part into everything.
But like, that's still not an excuse for like how you treat
(02:45:05):
somebody, right? Yeah.
And then at the end of 2024, we,we connected for that brief like
2 week period and then that's when all this happened.
That message was sent, so that's10 years.
Literally, yeah. Of pain and having that carrot
strung over your head. Yeah.
Yeah, I've put it that way. Damn.
(02:45:26):
Yeah, yeah. That's a good.
That's a good way of putting. It wow that's that's insane.
I think that one is the worst heartbreak.
It's the one I think about the most.
So yeah, I could say that. And I, I know, I guess I could
say that one is the worst because when I think about
number, what do we say #2? When I think about #2 it's more
(02:45:48):
of a rage. It's more of an aggression.
And so that's why it, like, helped fuel me in the gym.
That's why it, like, motivated me to be better.
But with #1 it's just devastating.
Like when #1 it makes me not want to get out of bed.
It makes me not want to like go to work, you know?
Because there's a lot of confusion in it, I feel like,
because like at least how you say #2 you're, you can feel the
(02:46:10):
rage towards what happened, the situation.
It was like kind of upfront, youknow, as to 10 years of like on
and off and confusion. You never really have that
clarity or that you know. You could still kind of see that
hopefulness in you that number one might work.
(02:46:30):
And that like, I hate it. I wish I could like kill it, so
to speak, but to kill it, I feellike it's just killing a part of
like my personality. And you can't.
I mean, that's 10 years of your life, that 10 years of emotions
and 10 years of ups and downs. Like you're never.
Yeah, I don't think you'll ever get over that.
Really. Forget about it.
(02:46:51):
No, but get over it. Maybe.
But I mean, that's 10 years of, I mean, 10 years of anything is
going to stick with you your whole life.
Yeah, so as much as I want to belike Devin, just get over it,
drop her, like say bad things about her if you need to, like
get it out of your system, like it just.
I can't. And like, as much as I hate to
admit it and as much as like I wish I it didn't feel this way,
(02:47:12):
there is like she said that verysmall part that's like maybe.
And I want like I want to squashout that light so bad, but every
time I try, it just won't die. And I don't know what it is.
I don't know if it's because right person wrong time, or
there's like one more chapter weneed to go through before we
close the book or what it is. But like that hope just won't
(02:47:33):
leave no matter what. I blocked her on all my shit,
you know I've seen the worst parts of like how she can hurt
me and still. Still, you have that little bit
of hope, yeah. And it sucks.
Wow, what a. Hopeless romantic type shit.
You know what? I.
Mean, yeah, what a what a what up and ups and downs there were
in this. Yeah, holy moly.
(02:47:57):
Yeah. So that's a little bit about me.
Thanks for catching up, guys. I'm sorry for like trying to
like end it this way but I know he's tired so I'm trying to like
sorry. It's all right, it's all right.
I enjoyed it. It was a ride.
It was definitely a ride having you guys on.
Like I said, this was an amazingepisode.
It was just, I like how you saidwe're all here and now as
(02:48:19):
adults. I like how mature this episode
was. I like how we all came in with
different things, like I got to hear a little bit about this
amazing engagement, just how beautiful you guys are.
And if anything else, it not only like the duality of your
guys's beautiful relationship and the heart breaks that I went
through shows people the things to look out for and the things
to aspire for. So if anything, it's like, hey,
(02:48:41):
like this is what? Again, they don't know the full
story because I'm sure you guys had your ups and downs and
stuff, but like they get to see like this is the kind of
connection they have and then this is what Devin was going
through. So which one would you guys
prefer? Don't do what Devin did.
Yeah. I mean, it's, it's, I feel like
our situation is so unique that it can't really, you can't.
(02:49:03):
Replicate it. But it gives you something to
like look out for, like you knowit when you see it.
Yeah, and like it's just the relationship you have with that
person in terms of how you, how you bond together, how you, how
you speak to each other and how fucking.
Beautiful man, you guys are beautiful and it's I'm so happy
that you guys are living these awesome lives and you get to do
(02:49:23):
what you want. You know, you get to do all the
cool stuff that you do, you know.
Thank you. It's fun it.
Is it's fun, It's I mean, it's not without its struggles.
Yeah, we definitely, we definitely work hard and.
I feel that, yeah. And yeah, it's.
But to answer that last question, the wedding is to be
(02:49:43):
announced. Hey, there will be 1.
I like that. I might I might have to clip
that and use that to tease. People, because to be fair, you.
Do what you got to do. Episode How long is the SETI?
411 Four. 11. So it'll probably come out to
like 3:40 with the cuts. So like 350.
(02:50:06):
So a four hour episode. Fucking hey, man, hey.
And half an hour of it was us standing outside looking at.
Hey, Mr. Meals, Yeah. Yeah, we're looking at Mr. Meals
Nuts. Angel was like, show me your
nuts. I thought that was fucking wild
to say to a cat. You didn't even feed it first,
but okay. It was a kind of tuna outside.
I should have gave them that. And I, you know, we do this with
(02:50:27):
all our guests, like now that we're getting to the end here,
they people can hear the music like we're closing up.
Is there anything you guys want to say?
Anything you want to promote? Anything you want to shout out
for the people listening to thisthat earned this?
Yeah, check out, check out both of our channels, paint and
rookie. Pilot, I'll put both of them in
the description. I'll put both of their
(02:50:48):
Instagrams in the description. Please go check these guys out
if you haven't already. I'm guessing most of you here
are already familiar with them, but if you're one of our fans
that are discovering these guys,go show them some love.
They do some great stuff. Are we gonna do the album?
No, me and you have to. Yeah.
How was? Yeah, Remember that.
Yeah, I remember that. Hey, let's do it for the one
time, Eddie. For the one time.
(02:51:09):
Do you guys not do that anymore? No, we stopped it because to be
honest, Eddie was getting annoyed with trying to find new
albums every week and I was getting annoyed with trying to
keep track of what we said. So.
Because we, we, we're there. There was a couple times we said
the same album, like, yeah, multiple times.
Really. Oh really?
It wasn't just the me and you moment.
No, no, like he'll say like a Logic album and you one week,
(02:51:31):
one week, and then like the nextweek he'll say the exact thing.
I mean, there's nothing wrong with that.
Some months that you just play the same album over and over and
and then you get stuck on it again in another month and.
Again, it ties into my ADHD. Sometimes I'll get hooked on
albums or songs for weeks at a time.
Yeah. And I ruin it for people, but
like, I wouldn't realize that I said it.
(02:51:52):
So if you guys have an album that we can all recommend to the
people and then we'll close up here.
Eddie, you go first. This Eddie, start it.
Well, this is a It's because it's on the bed.
Glory Sound Prep by Jon Bellion.Get out.
Jon Bellion. Don't.
Jon Bellion's a good one. We saw him live, actually.
With 21. Me too.
Yeah, me too. You were there.
Yeah. Yeah, I was there.
What 17? Now you open up at the end of
(02:52:13):
the. Fucking.
Show that was there that. Was a good show, right?
Well, I to be fair, I didn't like I, I, I like 21 pilots, but
I mainly went to go see John Bellion.
Yeah. That's cool when you get to go
to a concert just for the opener.
Did you leave after 21? I mean, yeah, For John Bellion.
Yeah. And.
Then when he's like. We.
Did you see that? Yeah.
He's like, yeah. His social battery is drained.
(02:52:36):
He's not trying to be, no. No.
You're right. He said.
Yeah, like literally after like we we walk you guys out, he's
going to go and die. Yeah.
It's violence. I mean, you have to wake up in
six hours or five. Hours.
Five hours. He wasn't supposed to work
tomorrow, but his boss screwed up his schedule and Eddie was
like, I'll do it, Yeah. So.
(02:52:57):
Sorry, album. The Queen is dead by The Smiths.
I was going to get that one on vinyl too.
Really nice. That is a good album.
It's a really. Good.
I love karaoke and The Smiths. He kills The Smiths on karaoke.
You guys got good music taste 'cause I noticed it like with
your post and like especially yours like 'cause I see him all
the time. I'm like, oh, this guy's putting
some good music. I've.
(02:53:18):
Got as. Soon as I spend like 30 minutes
adjusting the little section onto what what?
Lyric you want a. Lot of people don't don't care.
I care. I know me.
Too, Yeah. Yeah, it makes a difference.
I'm like, it has to be just. Yeah, for the people that are
listening, they appreciate it can.
You your album. I'd say the New Abnormal by The
(02:53:39):
Strokes. You guys haven't heard it.
It's a it's a good album, OK. That's a really good album.
OK. You guys strokes over here, OK.
Smiths. Smiths.
I'm sorry, I'm Strokes. I'm tired too.
What's your album? I'll say The Crossroads by
(02:54:00):
Corday. It's a wrap up, OK Very mature
album. He's talking about like having
kids and stuff, so like, I like them.
Nice. All right, Well, thank you guys
again for being on here. We're definitely going to do a
Part 2. There's so much stuff.
We didn't get a chance to talk. I didn't talk about cars at all
with you. Will we talk about our wedding
in the next one? Probably, probably.
(02:54:23):
All right. Thank you everybody.
I hope you guys have a beautifulrest of your night and I hope
all the listeners out there, I hope you get laid.
