In August of 2020, My son was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in Osaka, Japan where we lived. Long before this diagnosis, I was already struggling with serious addiction issues and mental illness. Moonstruck Wayfarer, a nickname that came to me during psychosis, began as an introspective blog on Instagram where I could anonymously write about my journey of recovery as I attempted to navigate a nightmare existence. My son passed in June of 2021. To this day, I keep fighting. On this podcast, I dive into the themes of recovery and mental health as an advocate to all who fight the same battles.
If you’re still there, I’m sorry it’s taken so long. Life, of course gets in the way of many things we want to do, but that’s not really an excuse.
