Welcome to the Moral Questions of Sports Video Podcast hosted by John Camacho and Zack Hamilton. We discuss moral questions within current sports topics. Our discussions embrace the social, religious, medical, political, and legal contexts of sports. Our aim is to bring reasonable moral arguments to sports in order to enhance the overall public conversation. We will be introducing a new way to talk about the moral questions of sports called The Moral Method. This is a structure to ask and answer moral questions related to sports in an objective and comprehensive way. We structure a moral topic into three parts: (1) character, (2) action, and (3) consequences. After talking about these areas, we discuss where to place this topic into the moral ranking system. The ranking determines the seriousness of the topic including whether the moral conclusion is a fact analogous to scientific facts, violates the public/social trust, against a good or bad law, breaks a traditional or contemporary rule of etiquette, or expresses personal tastes without any hope of a resolution.
