(00:00):
Hi there my friends, welcome back to the Mosaic. This is where we piece together life, business
(00:09):
and purpose. One authentic conversation at a time. Okay, today I am going to dive into
a recent objection that I have heard from a well-meaning friend. And this friend of mine,
(00:31):
well-meaning, told me that they are retired, so they just want to fill their days by doing.
And they don't want to deal with the hassle and the bustle of running a business. Well,
(00:52):
let's talk about that, shall we? Now, if this resonates with you or you know someone who
feels this way, this episode is for you. Okay, so together what we're going to do in this
episode is we're going to break down some limiting beliefs and really rethink what a true business
(01:18):
can be and should be and show, I will show you why everyone deserves to have a business
that they love. And that is the caption of my website. I mean, check it out, arzugazzi.com.
And why I truly believe that everyone truly deserves to have a business that they love.
(01:43):
So please grab your coffee, your tea, your favorite drink, settle in, and let's just
get started. Now, first of all, let's start with this big thought barriers, those limited
thinking thoughts. Okay, so the thoughts could be like, let's start with the first one, right?
(02:08):
I am retired. Oh, I want to enjoy life. I don't want to work so hard. And then the second
one is running a business is so hard. And the third one is I've worked so hard my whole
life. It's time for me to chill. Okay, so let's just let's just challenge some of these thoughts.
(02:31):
So first of all, so a business, my friends, doesn't have to feel like work. Okay, when
you align your business with your purpose, it actually doesn't drain you, it energizes
you. If truly giving is your passion, imagine running a business that amplifies your giving
(03:02):
exponentially, right? A business, a true business could do that for you. Okay. Now, and running
a business with a purpose doesn't have to be so hard. Yes, it takes grit, right? There
(03:22):
are challenges, but isn't there are challenges in life, no matter if you run a business or
don't run a business, but you ban you, you run a business with purpose. It actually those
challenges, lights you up. If the work feels natural to you, it's about like leading with
(03:44):
the thought that this business, the work that I put into this business actually fuels me
and not drains me because the work is hard. Because if the business is truly aligned with
the purpose and the passion that you have, it actually gives you energy, not not the
(04:04):
hard work gives you energy, doesn't drain you. You don't complain that the work is hard.
Okay. And retirement, I mean, when you, you know, the thought about like, oh, I worked
so hard in my life and, you know, now it's time for me to enjoy. Well, retirement isn't
(04:26):
isn't that the perfect time to build your legacy? I mean, you now have the time that
you didn't have when you had your nine to five. Why not create something that aligns
with your values, impacts others and lights you up like your days and other people's
(04:47):
days up. Isn't that isn't it the perfect time? So honestly, like, action item today is really
I want you to write down these limiting thoughts and challenge them like, like take them to
court. Be the jury member yourself. I mean, you don't have to share these thoughts with
everyone, but really, like, take it to court, like ask yourself, could the opposite also
(05:12):
be true? Because what are you saying? The thought the contrary thought, could that also
be true? How about start leading with that and challenge it? Right? That's all. Yeah.
I mean, I want you to really do that. So because here's the thing, so many people, okay, associate
(05:33):
business with burnout and, and soul draining work, because honestly, they've only seen
bad examples. Like that's, but that's really not the true nature of a business. Right? When
you, when you think about Apple, right? Do they feel like their work? I mean, there may
(05:58):
be people in the company who feel like, Oh, man, this is like, soul draining work. Okay,
so they are not doing the right parts of the business. Okay. But when you truly believe,
right, that you're helping people when you put that cell phone or smartphone, it could,
(06:20):
I'm just giving the example of Apple, okay, it could be any company, right? But they, they
are, you are helping one person. Right? So the nature of the real business is really
helping your people, your people. When I say your people, like, not everyone is an Apple
(06:43):
phone owner. Right? So at the company, Apple doesn't go out and say, I am going to help
everyone in this world. They only have the 30% or 38% or something like that. You can
Google it. Okay. 38% of the smartphone market, they are not trying to help every single person
(07:06):
in this planet, but they are helping their people in a bigger way. That's what they're,
they are in the business for. They are helping their people. So I want you to think of your
business or whatever you want to do. And the nature of your business is helping your own people.
(07:26):
I'm not helping everyone. I'm helping people who want to have a bigger impact in life with their
businesses. And they, they are not everyone. Okay. But I want you, so, so when you think about it,
you need to run a business so you can help the people who think like you, who act like you,
(07:46):
who wants to do the things that you want to do in a bigger way. That's what a real business
does for you. A real business also makes change happen in the world on your own terms.
How, how amazing is that? A real business is really think of it as an extension of who you are
(08:14):
and what you stand for. That's why I am like so passionate about people deserving to run a real
business on their own term that they love. And it doesn't feel like this soul draining work.
So if giving is really your goal, your business can amplify that your, that amplify that. Your,
(08:42):
that amplify your impact. It can help you leave a legacy that makes your final chapters of your
life the very best. How about thinking with that thought? So action item, okay, I want you to take
time to soul search today. What do you truly want to do if you're retiring? Okay, it could be the
(09:05):
retirement, but it could be the midlife. What do you truly want to do in the chapter of the life
that you're in right now? Write it down. And if you're ready to make it happen, I mean, I can help
you sign up for my business plan bootcamp. It actually, you've got nothing to lose. It is literally
(09:27):
risk free and it is so cheap. And I mean, it's unbelievable. And I'll help you create a deeply
meaningful business. Okay, I will help you do that. In fact, you know what, I am going to have
another episode that talks about what my business planning bootcamp is all about. Okay, but this
(09:49):
this episode wasn't about that. Okay, I can help you if I'm not your person, find someone who can
help you just do if you want to do it yourself, you could try to do it yourself. But I want you to
think of a business that can amplify your message and your legacy, what you want to what you want to
stand for in this life in in this chapter of your life. That's what a business is about. And finally,
(10:17):
let's talk about community. I mean, crying out loud, you can't grow by staying around the same
ideas, the same people who keep you comfortable the same way that you have been comfortable
so many days or years or months, whatever, to truly grow. Okay, you need to surround yourself with
(10:42):
people who challenge you to be your best. Seek out I want you to seek out a community with a
growth mindset, like, align yourself with those people who are walking the path that you want to
walk. Okay, I'm glad you're here. I'm probably talking to you because that's the mindset and you're
