The Naked Gun misses the mark from frame one. Slapstick works when it’s smart underneath the chaos—this is just chaos. Neeson and Anderson don’t belong here, and the script doesn’t seem to know why the original films worked. A few jokes land, but most scenes fall on their face. It’s a cheap continuation that forgets what made the franchise a hit—and it shows.
