Clay is an Nashville based songwriter originally from Mississippi who has had his songs recorded by artists like Lady A, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Diamond Rio and Darius Rucker. In fact he even had number one hits for both of the last mentioned artists.

During the course of Clay's career he has had over 200 songs recorded worldwide, received 20 ASCAP awards, numerous Grammy nominations and in addition to his day to day songwriting gig even runs an amazing songwriting training business called song-town alongside fellow hit songwriter -Marty Dodson.
