  • AFL-CIO - The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations is a national trade union center that is the largest federation of unions in the United States. It is made up of 60 national and international unions, together representing more than 12 million active and retired workers.


  • Respectability Politics - Respectability politics, or the politics of respectability, is a political strategy wherein members of a marginalized community will consciously abandon or punish controversial aspects of their cultural-political identity as a method of assimilating, achieving social mobility, and gaining the respect of the majority culture.


  • B.I.P.O.C - Black Indigenous People of Color


  • Queer - Queer is an identifier for individuals who are not exclusively heterosexual in their sexual orientation.


  • D.E.I - Diversity, equity and inclusion. As a discipline, DEI is any policy or practice designed to make people of various backgrounds feel welcome and ensure they have support to perform to the fullest of their abilities in the workplace.
