Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, hello, kasey
here.
Okay, so in this week's episodereally excited because I
haven't talked about this in awhile I'm going to go over the
passive income success model, how I was able to grow my
business and how I was able tomake 10,000 in just one day.
It's been a while since I havegone back over this, so stay
(00:23):
tuned after the intro and we'llhop right into it.
As natural creatives, we loveour projects, we love our craft
time and we'll never say no to aquick trip to Michael's.
Although running a handmadebusiness is rewarding, it can
also be overwhelming.
Hey, creative mamas, casey here, and as a mother of two feisty
(00:43):
toddlers and a business ownermyself, I get the nap time
hustle and live it daily.
Managing the house, jugglingthe kids and getting those
orders out on time can train thelife right out of us.
But what if there was a way toconvert that business of yours
into an online passive incomegenerating machine?
Well, I'm here to tell you it'snot only possible, but
(01:04):
completely yours for the taking.
I'm on a mission to give all ofthe nap time hustling crafty
moms out there the right tools, systems and strategies needed to
convert your own businessesinto consistent yet flexible
income online, all while doingwhat you do best creating.
So put those kiddos down fortheir nap, pop in some earbuds
(01:27):
and kick back.
This is where you stop tradingtime for dollars.
This is where you claim yourlife back.
This is the Naptime HustlePodcast.
Okay, so let's go over how Iwas able to go from a new
stay-at-home mom who was earningnothing to earning $10,000 in a
(01:50):
day.
We go over each of the threedifferent I guess types of
income that I have that that$10,000 is made of.
I'll go through the process ofhow I was able to do this, how I
built my Etsy shop, how Itransitioned to the educational
part of my business and sellingcourses, and what other forms of
(02:14):
income I now make.
Because I want to be your crashdummy.
I want to show you how to earnthis income and how to be a
profitable passive income mamawho can stay at home with your
kids, if that's what you choose, and how to be a profitable
passive income mama who can stayat home with your kids, if
that's what you choose, and howto essentially live that
flexible lifestyle that I knowmany of you are searching for.
So okay, so the first step thatI took when I launched my
(02:37):
business was opening up an Etsyshop.
So let's go over the Etsy sideof things.
So, like I said, a part of that10K is from my Etsy shop that
10K that I made in a day and soI believe that Etsy is the best
place to start when you arelaunching an online business,
especially for the crafters, theDIYers, the handmade artists or
(03:01):
artists in general.
It is a great place to beginbecause there are several,
several different areas as faras digital products is concerned
to sell in, and right now,we're on the brink still of this
major shift of digital productsales on Etsy.
Like that's why they are makingthese categories on Etsy.
(03:23):
Like that's why they are makingthese categories, that's why
Etsy is making room for forpeople like us, because they
expect this area to continue togrow and develop over time.
And so we're seeing we're stilllike at the forefront of this
shift.
We're seeing this happen onEtsy and we're seeing more
product digital product areasjust developing overnight.
(03:45):
Right, you know, just a fewyears ago we didn't see mock-up
images.
So as the technology developsin our area, in the crafting
machine niche, you will continueto see other and more developed
products that weren't therebefore, that take traction.
This past year it was likelaser SVGs.
(04:06):
We're going to continue to seethis outbreak, this outbreak,
this virus spread.
It's a good virus, right?
So that is why it's importantto already know and understand
how to sell on Etsy, how to sellthese digital products on Etsy,
because when you find yourproduct, when you find your
thing, you are going to want tohit it, and hit it hard.
(04:28):
You're going to want to producelike a mad woman and you're
going to want your shop torespond.
You're going to want to have aproven process to follow in
order to see the results, to seethe reward, to see the income
from all of your efforts.
And so, right now, that's whywe have Etsy Digital Success
(04:48):
going on.
It is open until just a fewdays after this.
So go to pinandposhcom, clickon the banner.
You'll see Etsy Digital Successis closing and you can get in
right away.
Now the phases that I teach mystudents to go through.
That has helped them in themost impactful process because,
(05:11):
just like any other form ofbusiness, we have to follow
different phases in our business.
And so the first phase and thisis important the first phase to
follow when you are determiningwhether or not to sell on Etsy.
And this is where the firstphase to follow when you are
determining whether or not tosell on Etsy and this is where I
think a lot of people go wrongtoo is they choose the wrong
(05:32):
product for them, and this is soimportant in the pre-launch
phase.
So this is part one of Etsy.
Digital success is thepre-launch phase, where we look
at you, we align what you aregood at, what resonates with you
, what is something that you aredrawn to?
Naturally, because in that areathere is a digital product that
(05:57):
you can sell on Etsy that willsell like hotcakes, right, like.
We just have to find which onealigns with you.
Which area can you sell in thatyou are have a step ahead of um
, your competition, because youknow and you understand it and
you're it doesn't feel like workto you.
(06:19):
That's the other part is itdoesn't feel like work because
the work that you're putting inis something you know.
If you choose the right product, one that again aligns with you
, it doesn't feel like work.
So when you choose a productthat aligns with your passion
and what lights you up, itincreases your chances of being
(06:40):
successful because you're morelikely to stick to it long term.
So that is in phase one.
We also do research over on Etsyproducts that have data backing
them, showing that people arepurchasing and buying them, and
that is so, so important as well.
So I teach you how to do thatIn phase two is where you will
(07:04):
launch your shop.
I teach you how to develop yourproducts, how to build your
products.
Even if you don't know how tocreate digital products, I teach
you how.
So that is in phase two.
I also go over SEO, which issearch engine optimization,
which is so important tounderstand when you are
launching an Etsy shop how toget your products found on Etsy,
(07:28):
because it doesn't justnaturally happen right?
You have to know where to putthe keywords.
You have to know what keywordspeople are searching for.
You have to incorporate thoseinto your listings, into the
title, into the description, into the hashtags.
I use a whole process, theprocess that we've used on our
800 products that has continuedto return since 2016 through the
(07:51):
Etsy algorithm updates, and so,since I have my own Etsy shop
and I'm going through the samething, I will pass on to you
what we are learning, and sothat is another part of it is
the same thing.
I will pass on to you what weare learning, and so that is
another part of it is the launchphase.
I show you how to launch yourEtsy shop.
I hold your hand, take you stepby step, every step of the way,
and then we move on to phasethree, post-launch phase, which
(08:12):
is a very important phasebecause this is one that many
people think will just naturallyhappen after they launch their
shop, because many people thinkthat they can sit back and just
listen to the cha-chings comingin, and that's not the case at
all.
You need to get to work.
You need to keep on listing.
There's an entire listingstrategy Like this is important.
(08:32):
This is where we dive into SEO.
This is where I help you tokeep your shop profiting and
continuing to make sales, evenafter the launch, and so this is
like the hustle hustle phase, and then, in part four, or phase
four, we will build your brandoff of Etsy, and this is how
I've been able to build up anemail list of 13,000, a very
(08:56):
highly engaged email list, andhow you can too, and so I build
your brand off of Etsy.
Okay, and so how do we do this?
How do we start marketing andgrowing our business off of Etsy
and then leverage that to sendback to your shop so that it can
continue to perform and earn anincome for you?
And then I go over how to buildout your funnels and your email
(09:19):
list.
Those welcome series are so, soimportant.
How you, you know, building anemail list is so much about
gaining people's trust.
If you don't have their trust, then your email list is going
nowhere.
And so we go over, like topicsthat you can talk about.
We go over things that you can,you know, discuss even though
you know you're sending.
Go over things that you candiscuss even though you're
(09:40):
sending them back to your Etsyshop.
There's still a lot of goodinformation that you can share
with them, like starting withwhere they are and what they
need.
Even if it's not directly tiedto your product, it still is
good and can help them, and it'sa way that you can build a
relationship with them, likewhat we're seeing now in 2023 is
building these relationshipsand nurturing them as business
(10:04):
owners.
That is what is going to makean impact on them and on your
buyers at the end of the day,and what will continue to get
back to you, too, in return, andso that is the segue into the
next phase of my business.
So now we're done with Etsy.
You've learned how to grow yourshop.
You've gone through Etsydigital success.
(10:24):
You've learned the ins and outsof each one of those which, by
the way, it is closing onTuesday, like this coming
Tuesday.
So make sure that you go andget in there, because, as of
right now, we are only doinglive launches, which is what I'm
going to talk to you about, aremy courses.
So the next phase of business, and why I chose to teach online
(10:47):
courses, is because I had mybuyers over on Etsy asking me
and they would come to me sayingthings like man, I wish I knew
how to make these files on myown, and so that gave me the
idea back in 2017, maybe Ishould start teaching this.
Maybe this is a thing we werein you know, over $300,000 in
(11:10):
student loan debt, like we hadall of this debt just on my
shoulders, on our shoulders.
I was a stay-at-home mom.
I really wanted to get us outof that and to find that
financial freedom, and so Idecided to go ahead and try this
and felt like courses was theanswer, because I've always
really enjoyed helping people.
(11:30):
I used to be a ski instructorand so I always really enjoyed
teaching people what I learnedand what I know.
And so that's where the course,my first course, which was
designing um, designing SVGfiles for Cricut and Silhouette
inside Adobe Illustrator that'swhere that originated from, and
(11:53):
it didn't take off like likeinitially I really had to work
on, you know, some problem areasin my course.
I launched and it like totallytanked and I thought that, oh,
you know, this isn't for me.
But instead of giving up, Iwent back to the drawing board
(12:13):
and just kept on trying and thenit took off and um and so since
then I've been able to developtwo types of courses the two SVG
courses like I mentioned, andthen um, etsy, digital success
is my other course, and so youknow what does the income look
(12:34):
like, you know, from these?
So between the two I alwayswill have, I usually have an
automated one.
So one of my courses isautomated.
People get onto my email list, they receive several emails and
then they eventually get pitchedthis course, and so live
(12:57):
launches are really hard.
I will say that they take a lotout of you.
I think that that's less of thepassive income side of things.
It's like throwing an event forhundreds of people you think of
just having.
I just had my daughter'sbirthday party a few weeks ago
(13:20):
and it was crazy.
And I just remember feelinglike I did back in Cabela's days
when I would put on these bigevents when I worked over there
as their marketing manager, andthen also these live launches, I
kind of felt frantic.
But even that birthday party, that kind of snowballed and I
(13:43):
ended up having like 65, 70people show up for it, even
though you know that was crazy,it had nothing.
On launching a live course, youknow, there's no other time
that I've been more scared thanright before I hopped onto my
live webinar where I had 250,you know, 250 plus people signed
(14:05):
up for it.
So very, very scary, very, verystressful.
I don't think that I wouldrecommend a live launch to you
guys.
They do make a lot of money.
But the automated ones that iswhat I keep on being drawn back
to when comparing the two livelaunches with the and comparing
(14:29):
that to the automated coursesand the funnels that I have set
up there.
I prefer the automated onesbecause, you know and even
though, like I don't make asmuch in one day, I do still make
pretty comparable um amounts tothe live launches, but over
time, and you don't have thestress and you don't have all of
(14:53):
this overwhelm associated likeyou do with your live launches.
And so live launches andlaunching a live course can be a
good thing, but it takes, likeI said, a lot out of you, and I
think that automated courseslike that's the one that I
prefer and that's the one that Ithink many of you would too,
(15:15):
because, yes, you don't get asmuch back you know in a day that
you would from a live launch, but you do earn it back over
time.
I want to also share that apart of my income.
In addition to the courses, inaddition to selling my digital
products on Etsy, the third wayI've been able to make money is
(15:37):
from my affiliate side of thebusiness.
So, being an affiliate of, youknow, summits and courses, but
mainly products like tools andsoftwares that I use, um such as
Adobe illustrator, that I teachand you know all but praise
about right or glow forge, likeI've been able to earn a
commission back from my YouTubevideos, from my podcast, from my
(15:58):
blog, from my um, even my livepresentations, and so having a
following, of course, does helpwith this, and this is why I'm
mentioning it last, because thisis like the order, like first
the Etsy shop, get that up androlling, then leverage that to
use to build your audience, tobuild your following off of Etsy
(16:20):
.
Keep on sending them to Etsy.
Education is a great area tostart building up a revenue that
is beyond, you know, 100k,beyond six figures teaching an
online course or an onlineprogram, or maybe it is at a
conference or something that ispaid for.
So once you have a followingand are to that level, then you
(16:43):
can start producing an affiliateside of the business where it's
just again working in thebackground.
You just have to link yourproducts to it and apply to be
an affiliate and then youreceive your commission for
those.
So that's the final way that Iearn an income.
Now again like why is Etsy thebest place to start when you're
(17:04):
launching your online businessfor the first time?
Number one it's fast growth.
You don't have to go out andbuild up a following of buyers,
of people who you know like you.
It's already there.
The buyers are already there.
Number two, there's no startupcosts with an Etsy shop other
(17:25):
than like 20 cents, like alisting, which is very minimal,
and they stay up for four months, you know, and so very minimal
costs there.
And even just like one salecovers your costs for, like the
next, you know, several months,so pretty much no cost needed.
There's also no socialfollowing that you need either
(17:48):
and as long as you have aprogram and process to follow,
you can make it on Etsy, youknow.
It's just understanding theirequation, understanding their
algorithm and, as you've heardme say, you don't understand.
If you don't understand themakeup of this algorithm and
what goes into and what it reads, then you, you don't understand
.
If you don't understand themakeup of this algorithm and
what goes into and what it reads, then you essentially don't
make it on Etsy.
(18:08):
So if you are interested insigning up for EDS, Etsy Digital
Success, included in that is 48plus video trainings.
We're adding to that, so Ithink the end number is going to
be like 64.
64 video trainings we're addingto that, so I think the end

64 video trainings.
