Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay.
So a little while ago I lost mymojo.
I did not want to work on mybusiness.
I didn't even want to look oreven think about sitting down at
the computer.
The overwhelm of life ingeneral just got to be too much
and it put my system intooverdrive, which then led to

(00:20):
tiredness and burnout.
So that's when I would sit downat my desk and just stare
blankly at my computer, and thisis common.
It's a common phase for manybusinesses or business owners to
go through, and probably one ofthe hardest parts, right when
we are solopreneurs, we don'thave coworkers.

(00:44):
Oftentimes in the beginning, wedon't have a team.
We are just one person andwe're making all the decisions
on our own.
We're working on our own, wedon't have the accountability,
we don't have the support.
It's just us.
And so in this episode I'mgoing to go over how I was able
to overcome losing my own mojoand pulling myself back together

(01:08):
from being stuck, and how I wasable to move forward.
All right, stay tuned after theintro.
As natural creatives, we loveour projects, we love our craft
time and we'll never say no to aquick trip to Michael's.
Although running a handmadebusiness is rewarding, it can
also be overwhelming.
Hey, creative mamas, kasey here, and as a mother of two feisty

(01:32):
toddlers and a business ownermyself, I get the nap time
hustle and live it daily.
Managing the house, jugglingthe kids and getting those
orders out on time can train thelife right out of us, and
getting those orders out on timecan train the life right out of
us.
But what if there was a way toconvert that business of yours
into an online passive incomegenerating machine?
Well, I'm here to tell you it'snot only possible, but

(01:54):
completely yours for the taking.
I'm on a mission to give all ofthe naptime hustling crafty
moms out there the right tools, systems and strategies needed to
convert your own businessesinto consistent yet flexible
income online, all while doingwhat you do best creating.
So put those kiddos down fortheir nap, pop in some earbuds

(02:16):
and kick back.
This is where you stop tradingtime for dollars.
This is where you claim yourlife back.
This is the Naptime HustlePodcast.
Okay, you guys.
So I'm going to show you thesesteps and I promise you these
steps work every single time forme.

(02:38):
Okay.
So number one I have found thatusually, when I've lost my mojo,
I'm burnt out, I'm stressed,I'm overwhelmed.
So I need some time to recoup, and this will vary, like it can.
Maybe it's just like if you'reexperiencing loss of mojo is

(03:02):
what we will call it for anextended period of time.
Maybe you need an extendedperiod of time to unwind, a
little break from the business.
Or if it's just like one dayyou're like I don't feel like
working on anything, go for awalk.
This is a sign that you need to.
This is a sign that you need tounleash the stress within you.

(03:26):
So go for a walk, go outside.
We're at our computers so dangmuch.
It's only natural that we needto have this break and so
exercise crafting.
Maybe it's meditation, maybeit's just getting outside, like
it is for me, maybe it is thesame for you.

(03:47):
I need to get outside, I needto feel the sun on my face in
the fresh air, right.
So spend that time away fromyour computer and do the exact
opposite of sitting stationary.
So it helps balance stuff out,it helps change it up, it helps
release that pent up energy thatyou're experiencing, and then

(04:10):
this helps you move forward.
So once you're able to releasethis and get rid of it, then you
have more space and feellighter and refreshed, and
you'll just be amazed at how bigof a difference it can make.
So while you're doing your overhere, unrelated de-stressor, you

(04:31):
can listen to the podcast.
Seems simple, but you cansurround yourself with
influencers and people someoneeven if it's not me that
motivates you, that gets yourbooty going.
Each time you listen to them, you are just like yes, let's go
run a marathon, I'm ready.
Find this person for you.

(04:53):
Oftentimes, too, I will say thatwe have influences in our lives
that suck this energy out of us.
Maybe this is you right now.
Maybe this is a part of theproblem, or maybe it's something
that causes us to doubtourselves.

(05:16):
So, with this one, there's awhole other episode that I could
do on just shifting our mindsetaround this.
But if this is you, detachyourself and distance yourself
from it, from them, fromwhatever it is okay that's
bringing you down.
Maybe it's a person, maybe it'sa group of people, or maybe

(05:38):
it's social media.
It doesn't even have to be likea person.
Whatever it is, cut the stringokay.
Like a person, whatever it is,cut the string Okay, because and
you know, I'll even say, maybeit's something that is pulling
us down, that we're using as acrutch to avoid working on our
business or doing the task orstarting that project that we've

(05:58):
been wanting to start.
Okay, maybe it's your nightlyNetflix binge, maybe it's your
movie marathon watching, maybeit's your go-to show that in
that moment, when you go and doit, it feels better, it feels
safer, it feels easier thanworking on our business.
But I want you to identify itwhatever it is, recognize it for

(06:20):
what it is a crutch.
You're doing this because youdon't want to go over to your
business over here and work onthis over here, and in the
moment it feels better.
But does it really Long term?
Usually it doesn't.
It doesn't make me feel betterbecause I watched that Netflix
binge.
Now I will say, okay, sometimeswe need that release, sometimes

(06:41):
we need to just relax our mindsand escape, right, but this is
what I'm referring to here.
It's like a pattern.
It's our go-to, this is what weare leaning on because we don't
want to go and work on ourbusiness over here.
Okay, so we'd rather go to theNetflix binge over here.

(07:02):
Our crutch when you detach fromthese.
So identify it and then detachyourself from it.
When we identify these anddetach from this, it gives us
room for, for more positive, uplifting and encouraging things
to replace it.
So replace this with yourinfluencer or your motivator,

(07:28):
whatever that is listening toyour favorite podcast that
motivates you.
Replace it with someone orsomething that motivates you.
Replace it with someone orsomething well, not something,
but someone who is living thelife that you want to be living.
Maybe you go and spend moretime with your sister, who has a
successful business and she isthriving and she is already.

(07:52):
You know she's a few stepsahead of you.
Go, surround yourself with thosepeople.
You know maybe they aren't evenintentionally supporting you or
influencing you, but whenyou're around them, you feel
more motivated to go and work onyour business because you see
the successful person and whatthey're doing and what their
life is.
Okay, maybe it's a friend andit can be an actual person who's

(08:21):
online and you just go andfollow them.
Follow them on social media, watch their posts, watch their
videos.
This is like your new cyberbestie, right?
And they don't have to.
You know per se, know you.
They don't have to know youindividually to be a supporter,

(08:44):
to be a motivator for you.
So find this person and I wouldsay even like the coaches and
the mentors online, the peoplewho are the authors that write
the book.
These are your best people tofollow and surround yourself
with because they believe in you.
Like I was saying, they don'tknow you personally, but they

(09:09):
believe in you.
They believe in everyonebecause they've been through it.
They've been through the muckand the crap and the ditches and
the trenches and they've seenwhat is possible and what life
can be lived on the other sideof all that.
When you surround yourself withthese people and these
influences, you will be amazedat the transition that happens

(09:32):
inside of you.
Okay, now, this last part is key.
Be sure to listen to the partsor the episodes or the topics,
or even you know, and maybe thisrequires, like you, to shift
whoever you're listening to, butspecifically listen to people

(09:54):
talking on the things that youare struggling in in this moment
.
That's so, so important.
So, if you are struggling withlist growth, if you are
struggling writing your emailcopy, if you're struggling
designing, go and surroundyourself with people who are
designing and doing it well.

(10:16):
Go surround yourself withpeople who are the email
marketers and do it well and whoteach other people to do it,
because they're the encouragers, they are the motivators, they
are the people teaching this andthey believe that you can do it
too, and it is inevitable.
It is hard to not absorb thatenergy and to not change when

(10:37):
you are surrounding yourselfwith people talking to this
subject and to this topic.
Okay, like, lots of researchhas been put into this and it
works, you guys?
So surround yourself with thoseinfluences, with those people.
Pretty much, you are living, breathing, eating, drinking them

(10:58):
, and now it's just gettingweird, but you get the picture,
okay.
Next, if you're still not seeingthe motivation come, here's
another thing that you can try.
Try looking at your past wins.
Usually, when I lose mymotivation in the business, I
also lose sight of what I havedone that has been good or

(11:23):
amazing or positive in the past, and I'm having a hard time
proving to myself that I can dothat again.
Okay, and so when I look at mypast wins, there is nothing that
motivates me more than readingyour all's reviews on this
podcast, even.

(11:43):
Or reading the success storiesof my students, or, if you're an
Etsy seller, going back to yourown reviews of people who are
just doting on your productsthat you have designed and made
for them.
Okay, so look back at yourstats, and this has to do with a

(12:07):
part of my business that I'mpassionate about.
That is a passion area for me isthe stats and diving in and
finding out why people havelistened to this episode more
than this episode, or why theyhave viewed this video more than
this video, or why they likethis design more than that
design.
Look at your stats.

(12:28):
I don't know why, and maybethis is just like the geekiness
in me, but looking at my stats,it's very motivating because it
shows that I have made progressin some way, shape or form At
some point.
It doesn't have to be right now.
Right now, of course, you'reprobably going down in views or

(12:50):
in sales because you're notmotivated.
Go look at the stats, look atthe topics, look at those views
in which topics and episodes orpages, blog posts, have
resonated with your audiencebefore you can create content
that resonates with youraudience again, right?
So another thing that I do is Ilook at those stats and then I

(13:14):
also write down my successes, mywins, personally and
professionally, because, like Isaid, almost always it comes
back to self-doubt in me andconfidence in what I'm able to
do.
So when I look at those and Iwrite these down.
There's something that happenswhen you write down you grab a

(13:37):
pen and paper and you write downthese things on a physical
piece of paper rather than justsay them mentally in your head.
Write it down, and whateverthat is and, like I said, it can
be personal.
I am the mother of two amazinglittle girls who think that I am

(13:58):
just it, who think that I amthe world's greatest mom.
Wow, I have been fooled.
You know, like there's alwayslike the negative that comes
back into it, but still justpointing out that you have
children and people in your lifewho think that you're amazing,
wow, that's so and can be sopowerful.

(14:19):
But it can also be as simple, asI went through the process of
opening up my own dang Etsy shopthat didn't exist before and
now it does.
I made $500.
I made $30 in a week.
Whatever it is.
Whatever the win is small, insignificant or big, write it

(14:42):
down, okay.
Or, and what I like to do islook at my best month or my best
day and see what my sales were.
Then Maybe it's just likewithin a few hours I had a few
sales, right, it can besomething as small as that.
But then I look at it in justthat timeframe and this is

(15:03):
another big part for me is thenI start asking myself and I
start dreaming.
So I'm a visualizer, I'm a bigdreamer, and so then I start
dreaming and asking myself whatif I could make those same sales
every day?
What if I can make sales likethat every month?

(15:27):
What if I could do that again?
What if I could do that moreoften?
I've already proven to myselfthat I can do that.
Who's to say that that can'tbecome the norm for me.
So one month, you know, 6,000sales.
What if that was every singlemonth in my Etsy shop?

(15:48):
Then transition into your goal.
What's your goal?
What's your dream life?
What is that fantasy life thatyou would just love to have?
And don't make it be like amillionaire, even though if you
want to become a millionaire, Ibelieve it can happen for you.

(16:09):
I believe in that.
But what can you see Like?
What actually feels like itcould be real?
Have that be your goal.
You know you could actually seeit happening.
What if that came true?
What could I go out and do thatI can't do right now.

(16:31):
What would my life look like?
And I get specific, like downto what my perfect day looks
like.
So I get into this and Ivisualize and I'm actually there
, okay, and so I can smell, likeI even tell myself like.
I wake up in the morning and Ismell my cinnamon tea brewing

(16:53):
and I hear the girls laughingand I get up and I'm not rushed,
you know.
I wake up early and the sun isshining through our little white
farmhouse and I hear thechickens.
You know those of you who arenew to me, I'm a big farm girl
and one of my goals I've sharedmany times is my white farm

(17:17):
house up on the hill with awhite fence around it, and so
farm animals are almost alwaysin the picture for me.
And so I'm in bed and I get upand I hear the chickens and then
the cow pokes its head throughthe window.
I'm just joking, but you getthe picture.
This works every single timefor me, because here it is.

(17:40):
You guys, this is it what wejust did here.
We de-stressed that pent-upenergy, we got rid of, we
removed the bad, we replaced itwith the good influences.
We surrounded ourselves withmotivating, positive influences

(18:01):
and information to help ustransition our belief on a topic
, our belief on this topic thatyou're struggling in.
If you're motivated to work onyour shop, then listen to people
who are talking about theirEtsy shops.
Listen to people who haveactually lived the life and have

(18:21):
had a successful Etsy shop, whatever it is.
Listen to people who teach anduplift in that same area.
And then we went and we lookedat the positive things that we
have done and at our own wins, which then transitions to
visualizing and finding that whyand that is what we are leaning

(18:44):
on and coming back to is ourwhy.
And so we're shifting our wholementality from being like we
can't do this, this is so hard, this is overwhelming, and blah,
blah, we can't do this, this isso hard, this is overwhelming,
and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, we can't like, let's just sit
here and binge on Netflix.
No, we're walking through thisprocess and that's why this

(19:05):
process works, because it helpsget you out of that deep, low
place and it pulls you and ittransitions you over gradually
to over here, which is where weconnect with our why.
We're also proving to ourselves, to our own brain, that we can
do this because we've proved itbefore and we can make it happen

(19:27):
again.
So we connect the success thatwe've seen in some way shape or
form to our why, because that'swhat's giving us motivation and
is going to motivate us to moveforward.
So we're proving to ourselvesthat we've done it and we can do
it and that we could do itagain.
So who's to say that?
You know that same motivation, that same progress that we've

(19:49):
made before?
We can't, 10x it, as Cardoneyou know on the Cardone Zone,
his podcast, as he says you know, we can't.
Just, who's to say that wecan't just take that and 10X it,
multiply it and do it again andagain and again.
Who says that?
Nobody.
You are, you're telling it toyourself, you are, you're

(20:14):
telling it to yourself, but youalready know that you have
created that thing, that you'vealready had that success,
whether it's in that little ittybitty area, or maybe it's a
month, maybe it's a bigger area,maybe it's a bigger timeframe,
but even if it's a smalltimeframe, even if it's one sale
, you can duplicate that andmake it happen again, okay, and

(20:39):
then, lastly, one thing, thelast thing that I want to leave
off with is what big items orbig areas in your business will
lead you to living that life andgetting to your why, leaning on
that, why, looking at the lifethat you want to live, let's cut

(21:01):
out the fluff of our business, let's cut out the unneeded areas
and refocus on the mostimpactful parts of our business.
Okay, and that is what is goingto lead us to success, whatever
that may look like in the end.

(21:23):
So good, you guys, so good.
Can I say that on my ownpodcast?
This is so good?
Yes, because I believe it sohard.
Do it.
I promise Follow this process.
Yes, because I believe it sohard.
Do it.
I promise.
Follow this process.
Go back and listen to this one.
Save it to your episode.
You know, I don't knowlistening box whatever.
Whatever platform you're onwe're on Google Google Play,

(21:45):
we're on Apple Podcasts, we'reon YouTube, we are on Pandora,
like any of the major podcastingplatforms we're on.
Save this episode, come back toit, make note of it, go through
the process and let me know howyou feel before.
Make note of how you feelbefore.
Make note of how you feel afteryou have gone through and

(22:05):
actually done each of these andwritten them out, and then go
over to Instagram and let meknow how it went Like.
I would love to hear from youat Casey Klin.
Go find me over at the gram andshare with me how it went.
I want to know.
All right, you guys.
That's it for this week.
I'll see you next time.
