Last week we spoke about sublimation and this week we are doing the same.
Sublimation is hot in the crafting world right now and with my new course coming out here soon Sublimation in Photoshop I felt like it was needed to cover some of the questions I have been asked about by several in the community. This episode is short but sweet!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, hello, welcome to this week's episode.
In this episode, we are goingto go over how handmade business
owners are using sublimation.
So not only just like howthey're using it, but I'm going
to focus on what the topproducts are that I'm seeing in
my shop, that I'm hearing frommy design students, that we're

(00:24):
seeing in the industry, that youshould be designing for if you
are starting down thissublimation design route.
So stay tuned after the introand we'll go ahead and dive
right in.
As natural creatives, we loveour projects, we love our craft
time and we'll never say no to aquick trip to Michael's.

(00:44):
Although running a handmadebusiness is rewarding, it can
also be overwhelming.
Hey, creative mamas Kasey here, and as a mother of two feisty
toddlers and a business ownermyself, I get the nap time
hustle and live it daily.
Managing the house, jugglingthe kids and getting those
orders out on time can train thelife right out of us.

(01:05):
But what if there was a way toconvert that business of yours
into an online passive incomegenerating machine?
Well, I'm here to tell you it'snot only possible, but
completely yours for the taking.
I'm on a mission to give all ofthe nap time hustling crafty
moms out there the right tools, systems and strategies needed to

(01:25):
convert your own businessesinto consistent yet flexible
income online, all while doingwhat you do best creating.
So put those kiddos down fortheir nap, pop in some earbuds
and kick back.
This is where you stop tradingtime for dollars.
This is where you claim yourlife back.
This is the Naptime HustlePodcast.

(01:47):
Okay, so, top sublimationproducts.
What products, handmadeproducts are our customers using
our designs on?
So, as with everything, I liketo focus on what the industry is
doing.

(02:07):
What is the most popularproduct, and I want you guys to
know that so that you can becreating for the same.
If this is what you choose Now,not to say that should you
create designs for one of theones further down this list that
, maybe, is a bit more niche.

(02:29):
That's not to say that youcan't be successful niching down
and targeting a product typethat isn't one of the bigger
ones that I'm seeing.
Okay, so just a preface there, but since we are creating files
and we want to be earning anincome, those of us who are

(02:49):
selling our files want to beearning an income from our files
, so that you guys have moreinformation to go off of when
you're brainstorming your nicheand your product type.
Okay, okay.
So number one this is the topone.
I'm very confident in sayingthat the top sublimation file,
the most used sublimation file,is t-shirt.

(03:12):
T-shirt design Sublimationt-shirts are the most common
form of sublimated project thatis being created right now.
Okay, now, if you want to goback to episode 156 and 157,
digital downloads and producttrends of 2023, I dive into the

(03:38):
different types of designs thatI'm seeing that are trending
right now and a lot of them.
If you go back and listen tothat, it's all about sublimation
, like sublimation, and then Ihave an entire guide that you
can download and see all ofthose different designs.
Okay, so I feel like that iskind of like the part B to this

(04:05):
episode.
Like it could be, because onceyou know what handmade product
project you're going to becreating for, I think it's also
good to know what the mosttrending design styles are.
So that was more like designstyles.
This is more like product types, which is important for you all

(04:26):
who are doing sublimationdesign.
It's important to know whatdifferent files your designs are
going to be used for, whatdifferent projects your files
are going to be used for.
So the next up are tumblers.
Tumblers, and I don't know if Ican even say like, why this is.
I mean t-shirts.
It's like, okay, everybodywears t-shirts, but tumblrs I'm

(04:51):
not like.
Okay, some of you are going tobe like I can't believe you just
said that, but I'm not like ahuge tumblr person, like, I'm
more like a mug, like a ceramicmug type of girl, which is my
next one, ceramic mugs.
So tumblers, though, have beenlike really big as well, with

(05:13):
the sublimation people.
There's also the ceramic mugs.
You know they have like theCricut mug press, like that's
what that is completely for.
There's also coasters.
You can apply your sublimationdesigns to coasters, also to
ceramic tiles.
You can add it to pillows, polyester aprons, polyester bags

(05:39):
, and I should say polyester islike all of these.
There has to be polyester inthese in order to sublimate to
them.
But these are the most commontypes.
Um, now, I've also heard oflike okay, in this one I'm I
don't really know as much about, but glass sheets and aluminum
sheets.
I found these, and then alsoI've seen like the um mouse pads

(06:02):
or the mouse mats, um cushioncovers, but that's like also
pillows, right.
Another one that I foundinteresting is dog tags Okay,
dog tags, pet tags, and thenalso earrings.
So this is something that Ithink is good for all of us, and

(06:22):
we're going to bring somestudents here on the podcast to
speak to more of like the typeof sublimation files and designs
that they create in theaudience and customer base that
they have, but this should getyou guys going.
It's a super short episode, butone that I wanted to do just to

(06:43):
add in here and show you theseare the different product types
and what we're seeing.
Definitely, the top three thatI see are t-shirts, above and
beyond tumblers, and then mugs,in that order, and then from
there it's a toss-up.
But I would love to hear yourall's feedback.
If you go to this episode, makea comment, tag me over on

(07:08):
Instagram at Casey Klin Go,follow me, send me a message and
let me know what you arefinding.
Maybe I completely missed aproduct that isn't on this list,
and so let's go ahead and justhelp each other out.
Let's go ahead and share whatwe know, because I might have

(07:28):
totally forgotten one or don'tknow about one that could be
added to this list, all right.
So let's just keep this listgoing, shall we?
All right.
And then if you want to learnmore about sublimation how to
design sublimation files as apart of my all new course series
sublimation design in PhotoshopI have that training coming up.

(07:50):
You can go and click on thelink in this video to find out
more about that, or just go tocaseyclincom, head on over there
.
I'm sure I'll have something upabout it All right until next
time.
