Hi, I'm Brian Sampson , founder of Plug Technologies,
and, in addition to hosting theNearshore Cafe podcast, I work
with a lot of customers.
I want to share a success storyof a fast-growing Series A tech
company in Atlanta that raiseda huge round, much bigger than

most Series A.
This one was over $50 millionand they had budget to work with
.
They probably could have hiredanywhere, but this particular VP
of engineering that we wereworking with had worked with
talent all over the world andwas already open to working with
Latin America, so they had thefunds.

It wasn't even a matter ofbudget.
They wanted access to the besttalent that they could find.
Now this happened in 2022, whenthere was an arms race for
talent and companies couldn'tget engineers.
They had massive recruitingteams.

Door scene was arduous.
Every engineer had seven otheroffers.
So, rather than get into thisarms race with Google and Meta
and Amazon, we helped themunderstand the dynamics of Latin
America, where, even thoughwages were going up there too,
not nearly at the rate of the USand these hot tech markets, we

introduced this VP ofengineering to engineers from
Brazil and Argentina.
These were full stackdevelopers that experienced with
React JavaScript.
With React JavaScript, reallystrong, savvy, creative thinkers

, problem solvers and time andtime again, this VP of
engineering sung their praises,as I almost forgot that they
were in Latin America.
They moved our product forward,they were able to hit their
milestones.
All their code was clean, highquality, and I like them as
people.
