This is a layman's discussion about the challenges of interstellar travel. It is being considered as the greatest enterprise of mankind. It is mentioned that they would surpass the efforts of great empires and modern megaprojects. Two methods are proposed to be able to travel to nearby star systems. The first method consists of arriving extremely quickly, limiting the time needed to arrive and minimizing the harmful effects on the crew. However, this method requires advances in technologies and new understandings of the universe. The second method accepts the current state of technology and settles for slow travel times, using current technology and accepting a longer travel time. Overall, this series highlights the complexity, costs, resources and cooperation required to carry out an interstellar program and its ultimate goal, a crewed visit to another star.
