It's an interesting thing to realize one day that you've given years of loyalty away to the wrong people for so long... The cycle of always giving so much of yourself to those that weren't deserving of all you give is a tough pill to swallow... The silver lining in all of that is who ends up being there for you at the end of the day. Never forget those that are there for you, who fight for you and accept you for you. The importance of trust, feeling safe, being present and checking in all fall in line with a healthy relationship, whether it's a friend, a lover, a sibling or a parent.
