Welcome to the No Cat Sports Show podcast with sports
and compos Collide.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
I'm your host, to.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Cobra, I'm your host. More money, Hey yo, your host,
Coach Milton. That supposed to have been nice. More money
we're supposed to take y'all opportunity. Oh many, I forgot
all about it till you say it.
Speaker 5 (01:03):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
I think I think we gotta take that copyright for
show for show. Yeah, man, how y'all been doing? Man,
We it's been a little bit. Man, it's been a while.
We got a lot of catching up to do, for sure.
For sure, man, I've been watching a lot of boxing, lady.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
They've been talking, of course, a lot about uh Tank
his his upcoming fight, if that's what you want to
call it. And of course the world is still shot.
How dominant Bud was against call, but we all knew it.
We all called the really shocked. I mean they acting
(01:47):
like they shot you know, what I mean. But you know,
we I think we all we all called it anyway there.
So now everybody making comparisons you know with Bud and
uh Floyd, you know, who who's the better fighter and
the different.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
Who fight canelot better and all that stuff.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
So yeah, so man, that's that's all the chatter in
the boxing world.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
My my question about that man is that they try
to cheat. But in the.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
Score cards, if you look at ain't no way he
won just you know, he won by two rounds. That
dude dominated from beginning to end. And the way that
they just you know, the way that the score card,
you know, they got the results right. But had there
been any any offsetting with them numbers, man, he would
have been screwed.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
They would have tried to take that title from him.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
That would that would have been in That would have
been the worst cheating scandal in boxing because you didn't
even need a score card to see how I was.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
That fight was absolutely not But they tried it. They tried, but.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Beat his ass but to prove Yeah.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
But but in the in the context of him and Floyd, man,
those you know, regardless who you know, I think both
of them are are two of the greatest fighters ever.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
It's just two different styles.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
Like Floyd was a defensive genius who could make the
like I think I seen this song where maybe last
week or week before, like Floyd really didn't need a
corner man.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
He could make adjustments on the floor.
Speaker 6 (03:23):
He's he was a defensive technician and he and he
could fight.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
You know. And but it's just but it's just it's
just a different monster man.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
He understands ringmanship, he understands skill, he has power. And
then the thing that people don't understand about Bud Man
but is a fighter like Bud wrestles, Bud street fights.
But Bud is a dude that you just put him
in the mix and nothing rattles him. And I think
that's the thing that got Canelo off everything. He tried nothing,
(03:56):
even when he tried to move Bud around, like try
to bully him around, nothing, Bud didn't fall for nothing,
nothing phased him. And then when he figured him out,
he just started two pieces of them, you know, just
tapping him up. So it's just two different comments, two
different types of fighters for the conversation to even be had.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
I don't know, I don't think it's I don't think
it's that much of a difference as we think, you know,
if you think about it.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
But West started at one thirty five one thirty.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Five, so I mean they started around the same weight class,
you know, but just took the lead, went up three
classes to to fight Nello. But I think Bud is
naturally bigger. Anyway, I think it works out. You know,
he has to work a lot prior to a fight
to get down to the weight that he was boxing
there because you can see in the fight against Canelo
(04:46):
it wasn't that much of a size difference. And I
think Budd said, you know, Canelo not that big. He
might be a little wider, but he not that big.
He a shorter fighter, his reach not that long. And
then he said, once he got in a fight, he
saw that his his punching power is overrated.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
You know.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
But with all the talk about, you know, comparing the two,
whatever the case, it made me go back, get on
YouTube and watch the old Mayweather fight.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Right man, Mayweather fucked him up.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Bro Mayweather.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Look, it was like it was crating like a video game,
like Coo. Canalo didn't touch this man the whole fight.
And you know, people have you thinking that Floyd was
running around in that fight.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
You weren't running around, he was standing there.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
I think somebody, I think I think somebody said it was.
At one point in a fight, Canelo threw a couple
of punches and Floyd had moved so much he tapped
him on his back, like yo, I'm right here, hey.
Speaker 7 (05:52):
But you know what, though, was crazy about that, And
I told you all this from the jump as soon
as I got on this show.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
I don't.
Speaker 7 (05:57):
I don't like to compare errors because if you the
same way you watch that video Kobe, if you don't
think Bud in his corner, watch those videos, you're crazy, right.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
So he just.
Speaker 7 (06:09):
Took a little bit of Floyd. He added a little
bit of Bud in there. But there's no Bud Crawford
without Floyd Mayweather. So you try to compare errors, it's
crazy and I think it's a little bit of a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Of underminded this in there.
Speaker 7 (06:21):
I think sometime when you compare another box or another athlete,
you take away from the legacy of the athlete that
came before, because we're a prisoner to revision its history.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
You know what I'm saying. What's going on? A prisoner
of the moment.
Speaker 7 (06:33):
So I think they both beat Canelo's ass and in
a way that was unexpected at the time. And I
appreciate both their greatness and also too, people gotta stop
sleeping on Bud Crawford and some of these modern fighters
because the game of Boxton can't promote itself.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
These guys are just as skilled as any error.
Speaker 5 (06:57):
Yeah, yeah, I agree with you. And we got Remember
Floyd was.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
President and Buzz camp through throughout, you know, throughout his preparation.
So and I know they've grown really close since Floyd
retired from boxing, and they they asked Bud, like, what
would you have to do if you foll Floyd?
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Would somebody need to beat him?
Speaker 4 (07:22):
And he said something like you need to have eight
arms and six eyes, you know.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
So that's that's That's one thing I love about Budd too. Man,
if you watch him, not only now after you postfight,
but pre fight, he gives everybody due respect. Man, Like
he he ain't out there trying to bath them off. Nobody,
he ain't, you know, he ain't doing no trash talking.
The dude is humble and he understands, you know, like said,
he understands the the all the guys that came before him,
(07:49):
and he never even even in the post when he
took Canelo his belts back. Man, everybody was shocked that
he said, Man, those his belts, I'll get mine. But
you know, it was the right thing to do. Those
are his his names are on those belts, So I
thought it was the right thing to do, was take
him back. So just the humbleness of that, dude, man,
I think he you know, so I guess the question
is what's next for him?
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Man, Like, what's the next What do you what do
you think he does next?
Speaker 4 (08:14):
I think he ride off into the sunset unlet somebody
come come with one of those big two three, four,
five hundred million dollar fight. Other than that, I think
he rides off into the sunset into until that right
offer comes across his death.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Yeah, And before we jump to the topics of the day,
which I think about the whole Floyd and Roy Jones thing,
like who's greater and they're going it's that back and
forth between them, who's greater and who duck what fight
and who got knocked out by this fighter. It's kind
(08:51):
of getting petty now, but you know, it's a hot topic.
For the boxing world. Everybody's charming in Well.
Speaker 6 (08:58):
The thing about Roy Man and is Roy Roy is
one of the greatest as well. But when you when
you when you hear Roy talk, Roy is always talking
about himself. Like a lot of the questions that they
asked about Floyd is just for him to give his opinion,
and Roy always emerges himself in the conversation. You know,
(09:18):
when they were talking about who he's fought, it was like, well, nope, that.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Wasn't the question. But okay, I'll listen to the answer.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
But that's the problem, like a lot of these guys
try to immediately instead of giving the flowers, like Bud
does they ad meet it? Well, I he didn't do
it the way I did it, or I thought this
person like that, that wasn't the question.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
So that's why I sent you all those clips over
the week. You know, I was watching Floyd didn't duck fighters.
If you go back at the table, they was ducking him.
Especially it was pretty Boy because pretty Boy threw his hands.
Let's not forget before the hand injury, and you know
he changed his strategy. Uh, but Floyd used to throw
(10:01):
his hands in Buddy was saying, pretty Boy he stood
in front of you, had more opportunities to hit him,
you know what I mean, you couldn't yes for you
to hit him. But when he became Money Mayweather, it
was impossible to hit him, you know what I mean.
He just became this cerebral boxer that you just you
couldn't figure him out.
Speaker 7 (10:21):
Yep, I mean to me, in my opinion, it's it's
like just two you know, guys that were great at
what they do, just arguing. They just talking crap to
each other, and we witnessing it because they were both great.
And then everybody has their own errors, right Obviously I'm
thirty eight, So Roy.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Jones is my great, my goal.
Speaker 7 (10:39):
Right, He's the guy that I tried to stay up,
try to most some lawns to put to pay for
his fights, you know what I mean. And and Floyd
was in that era too, They were in a non
ducking era. So it's just it just too like two
uncles just arguing about who was better than each other.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
That's all it is.
Speaker 6 (10:58):
So money with with with and again, you know, I
agree with you. Roy is one of them dudes. So
you being a Roy fan and him being your goal,
do you think when he fought Tarvor. Should have given
Tarboro that second fight after the first time.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Should I thought that was if.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
He would have just rolled off into the sunset after
that first fight, because Tarboro was what I considered his kryptonite.
He beat him the first time, but Tarboro made it interesting.
So when he gave him that second chance, I was like, oh, nah,
he shouldn't have done that.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
What is your thoughts on that one?
Speaker 7 (11:31):
So my thought is, and I don't know Roy Jones personally,
but it seemed like to me as a fan, I
think he was into some other stuff at that time,
right he had his music career going on, he was
doing some other stuff. I don't know how focused he
was on Antonio Tarboro and he beat him, you know,
pretty handily the first time. To your point, I don't
think he took him serious and the bag was there.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
To fight him again. So I think he was looking
at the money.
Speaker 7 (11:57):
Did somebody he probably considered a chump and I could
I could just go in there and take care of
my business and get this money. But you know, in
the sport of box and you can't take anybody lightly.
That's what it looked like to me. I just don't
think he took Antonio talk very seriously.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
He was definitely making music out of that second right
type of instruments. All right, man, let's get into these
topics for today.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Man.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Let's start out with some w n B A action
they was playing last night. Man, we saw some saw
a couple of good games.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Man.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
We had the uh the Las Vegas Aces they played
in Indiana, phoever for the second game they tied up
one one. Then we also had Phoenix against the Minnesota Lynx.
They also tied that series up one one. Hey, what's
your guys start? I think right now, it's been very
entertaining w NBA playoffs so far. We saw a huge
(12:52):
comeback last night by the Phoenix Mercury, and I think
that was like the fourth largest come back in in
the w's history. And then and I didn't expect no
less for the Acest to thump Indiana in game two.
The type of thing up because uh Asia Wilson, she's
showing why she is the full time m v P.
(13:12):
I I've been saying all along. She I think she's
hands down the best player in the w I get
why they gave it the m v P this year
because that second half push was was legendary. Almost know me,
but I thought, you know, the feast of dead enough
to get the m v P. But but I get it.
(13:33):
But but what's your thoughts on the on the w
playoffs so far? I honestly, man, my question about the
whole thing is why they not giving Milchell Mitchell her
due respect? Man from Indiana, Kelsey Mintell, she killed man
and they don't even mention her.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Huh.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
She's that first team all w n B. She made everything.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
But when you watch all the avatars, man, they avatarsed
everybody but her on the damn Fever. So you really
think it is the Caitlyn Clark effect they don't want
to give. She's clearly the best player on the team with.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
It without Caitlyn.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
But you never see her in any of the advertisements
or any of the commercials when it comes to the fever,
even when they were leading up to Because remember, now,
all these women that are playing right now, all of
them is in the finals for the damn NBA, up
for the MVP. All of them, and she's the only
one that they don't talk about.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
I don't get that either, but I will say this,
yesterday she looked like trash.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
Because she hit it, because she told the ass up
for thirty four points the first.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Kid, Yeah, but you first year at thirty four, Yeah,
come back with another thirty four or at least somewhere
in that range.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
But she dropped all the way to thirteen points.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
COVID, you just answered the question I was about to say.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
Sometimes her consistency, Okay, it's not it's not always there.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
It's not a steady state.
Speaker 7 (14:53):
But that's that's just Indiana though, Like I always thought
it was crazy when we just talked about Kaitlyn Clarke
and we didn't talk about the Lee ball Boston. We
didn't give any of the other players on Indiana any credit.
But that's how they they rolled or their team like that,
that any of them can get off at at any
given time. Mitchell, obviously it's a catalyst, but they all
take turns though, because they wouldn't.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Indiana wouldn't be there with a leea Boston on the boards.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
I mean, so they you.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Know, before Caitlyn was hurt, I think there was a
big three Kaitlyn and Boston. That's a big three. But
to youall point, they don't talk about Boston. They don't
talk about Mitchell, but they do talk about Hall and
and Sophie cutting Ham. So it's kind of like I
think they just using the people that help help them
market the sport better because you know, everybody follows Hall
(15:44):
and Sophie cutting Ham and you know they got this
and they waiting.
Speaker 6 (15:48):
For Caitln to come back the way, come back to
hopefully pick up that torch.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
But that team as a whole, that team is dangerous.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Man.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
They play, like you said, they play well together.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
They compete with anybody, and I think the first guy
the first game that they played the Aces, you know,
they were celebrating the Asia, so I don't think they
were really.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Prepared for them or taking them serious, and they jumped
on them.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
But you can't.
Speaker 6 (16:09):
You can't sleep on them, because they can. They the teams,
the four teams that are there belong there. Uh, they
all played well. I've been watching, you know, I've been
watching all the games, and uh, it's it's gonna be
good man. I don't think you know, anybody's gonna run
away with this thing. Yeah, but it's it's gonna be
interesting to see game game three tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
For all of them.
Speaker 7 (16:32):
They don't have to go a little negative one with
you a little bit quick. So I'm happy to four
teams that are there. But I feel like the liberty
under te you know, with what you said the coach.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
But but that was injury, that was not I think
that was a result of a lot of injury.
Speaker 7 (16:49):
Yeah, yeah, I guess you're right. You're right now that
I think about, I forgot about the injuries.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Most of the season. They was without their two best players.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
And got hurt in the in the the first game,
she got hurt.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
Their center got right. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, so she
was already out. But they fired their coach yesterday.
Speaker 7 (17:10):
Yeah, because they I mean, it was some games, even
with the injuries, that they just was playing with their food.
Like it was a lot of games that I watched,
and some of them, I be honest, I'm a fan too,
So they played like Angelies or somebody like that. On
watching the game, and it's no way that Chicago should
be in this game right now when you got Sabrina
and the players that you have on that team. So
(17:31):
I think it's just a consistent thing all all season
that they just played with their food.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
And I think, you know, the ownership had enough of it.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
Yeah, what y'all think about that? That Phoenix Minnesota game?
I was a huge comeback with like Minnesota had that
rap was about to go up to Oh like, oh,
what's the energy in Phoenix? Would that big comeback win
against Minnesota last night? Anybody talking about the game? Now,
what's your thoughts? You being there out there in Phoenix?
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Oh boost moke? Uh oh there go go.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Can we hear you? We can't hear you?
Speaker 5 (18:16):
Yeah, oh man, technical difficulties, So I jump.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
I ain't say nothing.
Speaker 8 (18:27):
Yeah, yeah, I ain't. I ain't saying. I ain't say nothing.
Ain't nothing really to say. Ain't nothing, Ain't nothing really,
ain't nothing really to say. I mean, they they excited,
They get a good day, have a good following, the
city happy for him.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
But you know, m I'm not gonna sit here and
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
Act like you know, I.
Speaker 8 (18:57):
Don't understand why we're talking about the w n b
A while we talking about this is my problem with
the Hopes, while we talk about the w n b
A and everything. First, right, when Baltimore Ravens lose, Look, wait.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
He could he couldn't and you knew it was coming, Kobe,
come on now, I'm.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
And he walked off twice. I'm surprised it took them
that long.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Hey, listen, I knew it was coming to but you
gotta be patient, you know what I'm saying. You know,
you know the you know, the order to discuss. You
gotta be patient.
Speaker 5 (19:35):
And then really, you know, it's.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
Not really you know, the bullets not penetrating because there's
naughty trash, Dallas trash. So there's nobody on this on
this panel for the podcast really got a place to speak.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
I mean, we could talk about the law.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Where's the losses, but they is not it's not penetrate.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Mo, Mo, you know this. He let him back in yet, Yeah, she.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
Come back in on NFL recap. Man, just man, he's
petty man. He was like a lying in the jungle man.
You see how you're just sitting in the woods man.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Wait, he had his hat backwards for that one.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
He was just wait, hey, you know what. I started
to text you, but I don't.
Speaker 7 (20:20):
I don't like doing that ship because I don't like
when people text me from players up on my team.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
It's like, I ain't fumble.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
But he don't even care. Bro, you know bro, what
the hell? But you know what, let's bring o'doll back
on here. Let's get into this NFL man, because I
know that's what that That's what the people were in here.
That's what I want talking about. Take the floor because
over man ship make go ahead.
Speaker 8 (20:45):
Man, that's the same, it ain't it ain't nothing really
to talk about coming my team. Everybody know, my quarterback
got so our season over it. We trying to go
get Kirk cups. We can at least so we can weekend,
so we can at least. But I'm the you said
NFL recap, So I'm starting with my team first. Excuse me.
(21:11):
That's why I'm starting with my team. As far as
your team go, your team played a good game. Your team,
your team played.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
A good game.
Speaker 8 (21:23):
Your defense, your your defense needed you got some defense
of your secondary is you know, I feel like they
need to play thegether a little bit more. I think
they out there doing their own thing instead of but
you know, playing with the defense calls. But hey, but
it's gonna happen. I mean, it's week three. I'm not
worried about Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
You know, let me ask you this, if you as
Baltimore's defensive coordinated.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
What would you do differently to fix that defense?
Speaker 6 (21:54):
We said, oh, don't you don't you'll have don't you
have your center out and one of your your uh,
because it was they put.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
Up with people out.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
But but that's no, that wasn't no because they got
bully you. You don't get bullied, you know what I'm saying.
They Look, I was at the game and I seen
Detroit didn't even have to pass the ball. All they
did was run right down there next up the field
into the red zone, touchdown. You know what I'm saying that,
(22:23):
And it was it was embarrassing. We couldn't get off
the field on third downs. I don't care if thirty short,
third and long, we couldn't get off the field, none
of that.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
But but I would know.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
I was asking, oh, dog, I was like, if if, oh,
if you was the defensive coordinator, what would you do
differently with that defense?
Speaker 5 (22:40):
From what you've seen so far?
Speaker 8 (22:47):
They well, they Baltimore Ravens is such a three four
right defense.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
Right, the three four, So you.
Speaker 8 (22:54):
Leave a lot of you leave a lot of you
leave a lot of your your one technique that's right
over top of your center. He gotta be an absolute monster, right,
you know what I'm saying. And then your and then
your two three techniques, they gotta be dogs. And I
just feel like they now holding their own because them
lineman was able to get up on those linebackers.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 8 (23:16):
Your two linebackers like that, and Rokwan can't make every tackle.
You know what I'm saying. I don't even know who
your other linebacker is. I don't even know who your
outside I know one of the youth one of the outside.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Linebackers, I forgot his name. He's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Where the boy?
Speaker 3 (23:30):
What a young boy after Marsh? What a young way
after Marsh? And then y'all had Van whatever like he
was hurt? What a young boy?
Speaker 2 (23:43):
The African last name? He was out?
Speaker 3 (23:46):
That said man like coach man?
Speaker 8 (23:49):
Right, that's a that's a that's a major peechnique.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Right, that's Detroit. Why why why are you acting like?
Speaker 8 (23:58):
Why you Detroit is it's arguably the best team in
the NFC. That was my team. It wasn't that like
you played. They lost. It was they lost. Yeah, I
mean they put up there, but like they got bullied
in it on I get it. They got and that's
(24:18):
not what they do.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Yeah, so let me go question, let me let me
ask you this. It was too It was too great.
Speaker 6 (24:26):
So everybody is talking about the play Hutchinson made on
Derrick Henry right running back as a running back. I
understand how that happens, because Hutchinson was supposed to follow Lamar.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
He didn't. He just traced back, made a great play.
As you look at it.
Speaker 6 (24:42):
Henry was in the he was in the goddamn Heusman
trop trophy poles getting ready to make a move and
get up field.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Hutcherson made a great play.
Speaker 6 (24:49):
But here's the player that I don't I understand why
they didn't talk about it. But Humphreys man on that run,
that jump cut that Montgomery made, he made that nice
ass one two jump cut, got down and put up what.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Seventy yards on the ass.
Speaker 4 (25:03):
Humphreys was in the box, he missed, was down on
all fours and then hustled his ass back to make
the tackle.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
How the fuck does that happen?
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Your safety is in the box gets I think he
got ran off or got clipped or something. He was
down on horse. No I know, I'm saying, like, how
does Humphrey. My point is, Humphrey just showed he out
hustled the dudes that that.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Was already in the secondary. He was up in the
line of scrimmage.
Speaker 8 (25:31):
He was So you're talking about I'm confused, you're talking
about You're talking about the young You talking about number
forty four from the Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
From from Baltimore, Yeah, the safety. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:46):
So my question was that goes back to the effort
that everybody else was making, because Humphreys was up there
when the dude was at the line of scrimmage and
he the one that ran him down for the tackle.
So my my question was they didn't talk about I
just thought there was a hell of an effort on
Humphy's part, and I get why they talk about him
so much.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
That just shows who he is.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
But how the hell is he getting back after being
fifteen yards behind the play outworking everybody else to make
the tackle. I know he a great athlete, but ain't
no where in the hell he should have made that.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Tackle the other guys should have made.
Speaker 6 (26:16):
So that may be part of the problem, right there,
some of the effort that guys are getting.
Speaker 7 (26:21):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, you're you're not wrong.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
I don't know. That's not my team, So I can't.
I can't.
Speaker 8 (26:29):
I can't question somebody's effort or whatever. I have to
really actually see the wild copying.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yes, that's what I was gonna say. That's gonna say,
go back and take.
Speaker 8 (26:37):
A look at the bottom line is I just feel
like Baltimore got some holes to field.
Speaker 5 (26:42):
They yeah, man, fact, go ahead, coach.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
No.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
And then also, why wouldn't and I understand this game
because I think the game was always down with the
last two or three minutes, But why wouldn't Henry fumble? Man,
they don't put him back in the game and throw
them back like he can't catch the ball off the backfield.
You gotta get that man's confidence back up, like he's
he's not a fumbling running back.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
That's not what he does.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Yes, he's just.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
Had some great plays made on bonehead in the first game.
Because he should have went down, the game would have
been you know, you know, he would have been able
to live to make another play. I don't even remember
him fumbling in the second game. But this, this fumber
right here was just Hutchison making a great damn play.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
You're not thinking about Hutchinson back there but why they
leave him out of the game when he fumbles, Like, coach.
Speaker 8 (27:34):
That's the problem, the coach, that's the problem. You are
thinking about ball security at the end of the game.
At all times, you're thinking about ball security. It don't
matter whether Hutchison's behind you, in front of you, a nigga,
excuse my name, somebody coming from the sideline. Well talking
about all security. Yeah, it don't matter where, it don't matter.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
He's made it great. Hutcheson made a great play.
Speaker 8 (27:57):
But we know when it comes down in four minutes
or whatever it may be, ball security, period. You work
on that and literally, yeah he made the man made
a great mistake. You will or your two hands on
the ball, hands or your two hands on the ball
to make sure you right. So the man made a
(28:18):
great play one hundred, but if he got two hands
on the ball, it ain't it's not coming out. So
at the bottom line is you know they're gonna be
trying to punch the ball out. They need to get
the ball back. Ball security, ball security, ball security. They
got to coach in the NFL that's making well over
six figures and all.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
He does is get water and yell ball security.
Speaker 8 (28:37):
I promise you. He gotta realize that. And it's his
second time. Second time.
Speaker 7 (28:44):
This at the second time, right, this ain't the second time.
So I went back and I looked at some some
Derrick Henry stuff. He getting sloppy with his fundamentals.
Speaker 8 (28:52):
There's no not just just throughout the duration of This
is the third time this season.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
This is thirty the last two seasons.
Speaker 7 (29:01):
Because he's stiff farming in traffic. There's no coach. They
always teach you stive farms for the open field. If
you in traffic is high and tight, two hands on
that rock. If you stiff farming, I don't care if
you as big as Dad Harry or whatever. There's defensive
coordinators that's gonna match that up, and they gonna say
this is his tendency. Every time he gets into traffic,
he trying to move somebody. So when he does that,
(29:23):
the ball is lax. He don't have you don't have Boston.
So you can say it's a great play by Hutchison,
but the blueprint is out there. They're gonna continue to
do this, and he gotta clean that up. That's the
bottom line with that.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
Yeah he will, yeah will, Yeah, Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
He was.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
He was definitely frustrated. Was it was right behind the
runner back bench, right how many times he slammed that
helmet Monday night? You know what I'm saying that when
he fumbled, he came back to the sidelines and he
was asking everybody over there what happened? What happened, Like
he didn't even know what happened, Like how he fumbled?
Speaker 2 (30:02):
What happened?
Speaker 4 (30:02):
You lost to god, damn ball, that's what happened. I'm saying,
you better get this white bro. But the office just
looked frustrated from the beginning. I didn't understand it, Like
Lamar Jackson looked like something was going on with him.
Like I'm talking about the first series. He come to
the sideline pissed off, talking to somebody. I'm like, damn
this this offense been putting up forty one in a game,
(30:25):
Like what you what is it to be sad about?
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Hey? And he got going yet, Hey, cob ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
He threw one pass and all I can hear was
Old saying he the knock when them got them kill
leaders out man.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah he did.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
I saw that.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
I thought about two when he threw that path but
guess what number one passing ring of all time. I'm
telling you, I'm telling y'all need to talk about it.
But let's move on from the raves. Just not how
about them? There's not about the count.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
How about the boys.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Yeah, it looks like, hey, hey.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Oh, where the garbage can they?
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Because you can throw the whole secondary in the garbage
can all of them from tray Von Digs to Malik
Hooker to Ready Steward, all them guys look like straight
trash deepensive coordinator.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
This is Walt mood nothing. Let me ask you this.
It's got the effect of your best pass rushing being
traded away.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Bro. We can have those guys out, Bro, we.
Speaker 7 (31:32):
Can have Aaron Donald, Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, and John
Randa up front. If the quarterback getting the ball off
in one point seven seconds, it don't matter because they
blowing assignments on the back end.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Hey, they ain't doing nothing but running, bob, motherfuckers. It
ain't complex, It ain't complex.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
They just they got the blueprint from goddamn Russell Wilson
a week before you knew Caleb coming in. And that's
the first thing. Everybody just take off, go like ain't. No,
they ain't worried about it. Nothing like how you mess
those assignments up.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
Coach.
Speaker 7 (32:05):
My thing is too if you know they're not communicating right,
then you gotta go back to cat coverage like just
play man, you know what I mean, because it's obviously
the zone because it's you know, I don't know if
they're in cover two three, it ain't work.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
They don't know if they're in cover two cover their mother,
Hey you just hey, my fastest man, just go get
the goddamn ball.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
That's all. And they threw a what was that a
fleet flicker type ship.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
The whole fload to the fleet flicker, the whole defense.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Our residents subject matter expert after defensive back position.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
What you see with Dallas secondary uh?
Speaker 3 (32:48):
I saw.
Speaker 8 (32:51):
I just see like a lot of guys blaming other
people for their mistakes. And I think they they they
on TV and they going like this or going like that,
and they wanted to make it seem like it's somebody else.
And that's why I said, we need to get some
wild copies and we can really see what is really
going on in some coverages and stuff. Like Coach Miller
said when when a young boy out of you dub
(33:13):
ran past number seven on the Cowboys, that didn't look.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
Like no zone to me.
Speaker 8 (33:19):
That just like it was man and man and he
ran past him, but it almost looked like he was
trying to you know a lot of you know, a
couple of years ago, and I used to argue with
his trainer, and we don't need to say names or whatever,
but one of his trainers, that's our og, my og.
And I used to be like, he paused, he is
sitting on a lot of routes, And I said, sometimes
(33:40):
it's good sometimes when you guess right. But sometimes, you know,
people look start to draw draw plays in the dirt
for you, and then they.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Start to run past you.
Speaker 8 (33:49):
You know where you're starting to throttle down at seventeen
to twenty yards and they getting gone at twenty yards.
You know, so you gotta be careful with that. And
you know, people starting to realize that that was his mo.
He liked the squad on a lot of the route running.
So now people are just saying, Okay, we're just gonna
run past them, or we're gonna try to attack him,
you know what I'm say saying, or whatever the case.
(34:11):
May be, and he coming off of an injury, so
I don't know, you know what I mean, Like, I
just feel like it's a lot of the blame game
in that in the secondary, and they don't really Malie Cooker,
I ain't gonna lie. He is somebody who I thought
was gonna be a all pro safety coming out of
Ohio State. When he got drafted to Indy, I thought
he was gonna be a monster. What he was doing
(34:31):
at Ohio State, flying around to the ball, making plays
all over the secondary ball hawk. I thought he was
gonna go crazy, but hey, it just go. It just
goes to show you, man, when you're out here dealing
with these grown men and you got grown man decisions
and you got grown man temptations, you truly find out
who really loves the game and who works on their
craft and who gets better and who doesn't. So what
(34:54):
that's just mine with that on the secondary and whatever
it is that they doing.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
I think it goes back to what money Most said.
Speaker 8 (35:02):
I think they need to realize and say, hey, we
might not have the athletes for a zone. We might
not be a zone team because we gotta rely, we
gotta read routes, We got.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
A pattern read.
Speaker 8 (35:10):
Maybe we just need to say, you know what, this
is my guy. I have a guy, You have your guy.
Let's get after the quarterbacks so we don't have to
cover that long. We can play we can play off,
we can play man from off, and we can play
man from bump and run. Maybe they need to go
to do that. So I don't know, but whatever it is,
they need to get it fixed and they need to
(35:32):
fix it fast. So that's just happens.
Speaker 7 (35:35):
It's good if he's in the box like he's like
almost thirty, his athleticism has faded a little bit. When
he first came to Dallas, he was like twenty seven.
He could cover the back end a little bit, and
he was our free safety. But now they had Donovan
Wilson and Maalie Hooker both playing safety and neither one
of them are deep covered safety.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
On that play with Treyvon Diggs. Is this guy named
Brian Broadis.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
I don't know if y'all heard him him or not,
but he breaks down Cowboy film every shit. Actually the
day between Tuesday and Wednesday, and he showed all twenty
two of that DIGS play and what happened was Donovan
Wilson was supposed to be the deep third, So even
though Trady bard dig slipped, he still thought he had
(36:18):
had some coverage. But Donovan Wilson bit on the underneath
route from the tight end, and then Malik Hooker was
already covering the tight end. So now you got two
people covering the tight end when you're supposed to be
over the top. That's that's what makes it uh frustrating
as a Cowboys fan. Not that I think we was
going anywhere this year now, and that's why another reason
(36:39):
they traded Mike because we weren't going well with them
or without him. But to answer your question directly, Michael
Parsons wouldn't have had no effect on that game because
the secondary is just that bad.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
That's one thing. That's one thing.
Speaker 8 (36:56):
That's one thing I might have to disagree with you
on money Moowe because I played on some trash secondary,
the worst in the league.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
And when you got somebody that can that.
Speaker 8 (37:05):
Can get after quarterback a little bit, he can't cover
even if even if he just get even if he's
just getting after him and having him pressure pressure a
little bit, that does help especialty out tremendous. So when
they got to account for that. They gotta leave extra
people in the box. They gotta they gotta chip. That's
Tighten can't get out as fast as he wants because
he got a chip. He gotta make sure that Parsons
(37:26):
ain't coming around the edge, and that does the fact
that the game plan is totally different. The game plan
is different when you got somebody that can get after
the quarterback and that help out your secondary. But you know,
it is what it is. At this point, it don't
even matter. So the Cowboys they need to just keep
losing so they can get some draft picks.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
That's fast.
Speaker 7 (37:47):
I mean, we got some secondary players coming back. You
got Blad coming back. Who's the number one?
Speaker 8 (37:52):
Yeah, he got it. But Blaine got injured. He was
playing well before he got hurt.
Speaker 7 (37:56):
I thought, yeah, well he got his footsteps on in practice,
so he should be back.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
He should be back this week.
Speaker 7 (38:03):
The young guy that we drafted from Eastern Carolina sixty
three corner, he should be back. We got the next
so we literally out there with people that's from the
practice squad. But that's still no excuse. Because you got
your assignment is your assignment. You shouldn't get beat like that.
Speaker 8 (38:19):
And last time I checked Trayvon Diggs and Hooker those
two first round, well second round and of what you
call him, and both of them got big ninety sixties
whatever seventy million dollar deal. So it is what it is, Yeah,
is what it is, and money and money. I will
say this up. Then you say, Dallas going to the
NFC Championship this year.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
I ain't never say that. I ain't I picked the Eagle.
Speaker 5 (38:41):
I was gonna win the Vision.
Speaker 8 (38:43):
I ain't I picked the Eagles. You picked the Cowboys,
you know, Damn.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
I will tell you who I am disappointed in.
Speaker 8 (38:57):
Who I thought was gonna be go out And I
said this probably that before I thought Pikett was gonna have.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
A monster year this year. Man. I thought he was
gonna really take advantages.
Speaker 8 (39:06):
Of those backside one on one match up, you know,
not really having to go against the number one receipt
of defensive back. And then to me, it just seemed
like he's just being he's just inconsistent, like almost like, bro,
you need to grow up, man, become a professional, you
know what I'm saying, Like you want sit up here.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
And get a big deal and things like that.
Speaker 8 (39:26):
But yeah, you ain't even you know what I'm saying,
like you dropping passes that are meaningful. I'd rather take
somebody like a like a and I hate to say this,
but I'd rather take the uh what's the what was
the boy in uh New England that played with Brady
for so long?
Speaker 3 (39:46):
West Walk?
Speaker 8 (39:46):
And what was the other one right after him?
Speaker 3 (39:49):
And not Amadola the other one?
Speaker 2 (39:53):
We were a number.
Speaker 8 (39:56):
I'll take a Julian Edelman that I know he gonna
catch the ball every time.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
You know what I'm saying. Like, That's the thing about it.
Speaker 8 (40:03):
You you you when it comes to receiver, you gotta
be consistent, man, you gotta be consistent. And you you
mess around, you catch some you'll catch a great one.
And then when we need you on third and whatever
to catch a big ball, you know, to catch a
ball he dropped the joint or what that, I'll just
be like some of it.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
But but yeah, he probably won't get a crazy deal.
I'm like, bro, you some of them I just don't understand.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (40:31):
Yeah, consistency, bro, Consistency get you. That's what gets you paid.
It's the consistency, you know what I mean? But you
you you dropping, you dropping the ball and in big
time games, major games where they need you. So excuse me.
Hopefully he gets it together here. Man, it's a great
time to change your attitude. You got a big Sunday
(40:53):
night game, green Bay, coming in green Bay, coming off
with lost, You going against a vicious secondary, green base secondary,
vicious and you.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
Ain't gonna have CD CD is out. But that's a
chance to the old point, chance to step up.
Speaker 7 (41:09):
If he wants the bag, he gotta show the great
game to go get it. All the lights is on,
big time.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
Hey, Michael coming, Hey, we.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
Will see man.
Speaker 7 (41:21):
Like I keep telling people, and I said it back
in the summer time, Oh put me on game, and
I appreciate it. It didn'tlightened me to some things that
it's just it's just not about the plays on Sunday.
It's about what you do Monday through Saturday sometimes. And
with that, Michael Parson's play doesn't warrant what happens Monday
through Saturday sometimes, right.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
And I think it was Brian Brodis who brought it up.
Speaker 7 (41:45):
Shout out to them, Oh b Washing, he plugged us
in too, but he if you got you talk about
Lawrence Taylor, you talk about Derrick Thomas, Reggie White, some
of the greatest sacment of all time.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
Right, They led the leagues in sacks.
Speaker 7 (41:59):
Their play were impactful every down or when the game
was on the line. That's not always the case for Michael.
And I said that before he got traded.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (42:08):
If you're talking about a guy through three and a
half games, was it three three games? He got one
and a half sacked, So.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
I get it.
Speaker 7 (42:16):
He might ball out on Sunday. I gotta see it
in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (42:20):
I gotta see it.
Speaker 7 (42:21):
The crazy part about Ebony, she better worry about the
Washington Commanders. She always peeking over the fence at the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
I get it.
Speaker 7 (42:31):
When you got one playoff win in twenty thirty years,
at least we went the playoff game.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
But anyway, I got, I got, I gotta see it.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
Don't get money, don't get distracted money.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
I got. I gotta see what he does in the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (42:47):
He can come out there and get eight sacks against Dallas,
but if he don't show up in January, then it
don't matter.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
Yeah, and will I got.
Speaker 6 (42:55):
I have to say this too, money, since you on
the show, and last time was we had a conversation
about that dollas and again for those who just tuning in,
I am a former Cowboy fan. I have to take
my hat off the dock man, Dak playing his ass off,
and I like the running back.
Speaker 4 (43:10):
I like how he played for them as well. The
cat from from Denver.
Speaker 6 (43:14):
He went, knowse that Carolina, Hey, they look good man,
That Dak is the one.
Speaker 4 (43:19):
This party forty yards didn't drop the ball. The one
broke for thirty forty yards and then dropped the ball.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
He dropped it. Oh took that boy. That was a
good That was a hell of a hell defensive play.
Speaker 7 (43:33):
Yeah, man, he took I ain't seen a play like
that in a while. Man, he took it from You
gotta hold that ball tight.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
We mentioned that the pack is uh a few moments ago.
Are you surprised that they only could put up ten
points against the Browns?
Speaker 5 (43:48):
And I know Browns that Alc North defense.
Speaker 3 (43:51):
No such Browns.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
You know they get you got at all, bro, You.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
Got arguably one of the best defensive lines over there.
Speaker 4 (44:00):
He got old boy over there that they just paid
one hundred million dollars to the follower.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
He the best defensive in in.
Speaker 4 (44:08):
The league, without question, without question. That's so he allowed
he allows the defense to do a whole lot, man,
And you got to think about what green Bay?
Speaker 2 (44:18):
What green Bays if they got they got.
Speaker 4 (44:20):
The young receiving corps, you know, and if you can
neutralize that running game, you already know what's gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (44:27):
What's green Bay quarterback? First name love, what's his first name?
Speaker 4 (44:31):
Jordan's Jordan's So you heard what the defensive it went
to the to the sideline and he was.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
Pressuring Jordan's uh run, run, Yeah, he said, run.
Speaker 8 (44:44):
Jordan's run, run, Jordan's run.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
It couldn't block them.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
They couldn't like kids, Bro couldn't do.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Nothing with him, man.
Speaker 7 (44:55):
And then on top of that, to your point, it
ain't just Miles Garrett, Man, they got to dudes Newton
and then I can't remember the other cornerbacks name, but
they some dogs.
Speaker 4 (45:04):
Too, and the old their whole defense like that, I mean,
that's what been keeping Cleveland like at least a flute
for all these years. That their offense has been a
question about for a minute, but their defense been consistent.
Guarante Cleveland is going to come and play on the
defensive end of the ball.
Speaker 3 (45:24):
And they kind of like Baltimore kryptonite like on.
Speaker 4 (45:29):
Them last week, bro we put a forty one on them. Boy,
But they played. They played Detroit this week. That's what
I'm forgetting who they played. They played Detroit. That's gonna
be a good game.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
As long as Joe Flacco had quarterback, they got a shot.
Speaker 4 (45:46):
So so the best game I saw, I guess just
this past week. I'm going to say Tampa Bay versus Jets.
That was an exciting game. It was entertaining. It came
down to the end. Baker Mayfield, you know what I'm saying.
He showed his greatest toughness and drove his team down
the field to get the victory. I think it was
twenty nine twenty seven. So, so what your thinking about
(46:07):
that game and Biger Mayfield's performance?
Speaker 3 (46:11):
I think I think where's Fredo? Where's Fredo?
Speaker 5 (46:18):
You know, hiding?
Speaker 8 (46:20):
You're talking about Justin Herbert while we get while they
give Justin Herbert that bread?
Speaker 3 (46:24):
Where with fred Oh? Where Fredo up?
Speaker 5 (46:28):
Come on?
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Fred Oh?
Speaker 8 (46:29):
I know you're watching the show we love call in
Center Text Messes centerble Message.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
So what you what? What you know?
Speaker 3 (46:38):
You why they you know Herbert, this Herbert, that that
man balling right now, that man looking like he didn't
running up to me to Josh Allen, uh uh MVP
the way he playing, Yeah, he right now look like
gonna win the m C West.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
Yeah, you gotta you gotta put Daniel.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Jones in the VP right now. Jones ain't no MVP.
Just her y'all pray.
Speaker 4 (47:08):
I mean, I'm sure he's playing well, but you you
excited because you haven't seen him play at that level before.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
So it's y'all, y'all excited.
Speaker 8 (47:16):
Y'all excited for Dames Jones because I ain't seen him
play that at that level.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
That's what I'm saying, right for both of them both.
But but Herbert, I mean Herbert Herbert is.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
I would I would give it to Herbert. Herbert Herbert
playing Herbert always been like that.
Speaker 5 (47:31):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (47:32):
You never been't take it away from him, want to.
He's just his play just hant generated like wins, like
getting into the postseason with the playoff games, all that stuff.
But in terms of who he is as a quarterback,
what he do as a quarterback, he's been like that
(47:54):
since they.
Speaker 8 (47:54):
On yeah, but we're not talking about what is intelligibles
are We're talking about what his play the fifth right,
Because from an intangible standpoint, then yeahangibles too, right when
you compare them, even even before this season, But when
you compare them, there's there's no comparison, right, Herbert is
here and Daniel Jones is here when you compare it
(48:15):
just those.
Speaker 3 (48:16):
Two, Yes, sir, I mean I don't know.
Speaker 7 (48:19):
Like I said, I'm I'm I'm a Cowboys fan, so
I don't watch Daniel Jones for a few years.
Speaker 3 (48:24):
It come down to coaching.
Speaker 7 (48:25):
That is nothing that Daniel Jones can't do on that
football field that Justin Herbert can do. From and from
just an athletic standpoint, in a skill set he can.
Speaker 3 (48:36):
He got an arm, he got wheels.
Speaker 7 (48:38):
It comes down to coaching. He made some bad decisions
with the football. Yeah, but that's what that's that's all.
That's all I said about that.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
But we don't talk all this time. And Cob, you
brought up a good game.
Speaker 4 (48:53):
What about the Eagles game and that they look like
in the first half they got a board Like I
don't understand what the offensive court they to be doing.
It's like he'd just be playing with his food sometime
with all them weapons he got on offense.
Speaker 2 (49:04):
But they came back the sacond half.
Speaker 4 (49:06):
You know, my son is a he damned turned the
call of on the road man.
Speaker 6 (49:09):
He That was a great second half by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 3 (49:13):
Man.
Speaker 6 (49:14):
And and they shut out they shut out the squad
in the second half. Like that was like two different teams.
And I don't understand why they don't play like that
from kickoff to the end and of the game because
they got too many weapons to be you know, dudes
not showing up catching the ball like it was completely
Whatever they said at halftime should have been said at
(49:36):
the beginning of the game, knowing that that's a that's
the team that they lost to correct in the playoffs
last year. Right, yeah, so why you don't come out
ready to play front the beginning.
Speaker 2 (49:47):
But that was an awesome game. That was an awesome game.
Way to win.
Speaker 3 (49:53):
Given credit to the Eagles.
Speaker 7 (49:54):
I gotta I gotta throw some shame on the Rams
they got they got ahead in that game throwing.
Speaker 3 (49:59):
The ball and in attacking the Eagles secondary.
Speaker 7 (50:03):
How you gotta read Blankenship Guarden, one of the greatest
wide receivers of this era and you not take advantage
of it Davonte Adams for that twenty yards received. No,
there's no way that you gotta read that. You got
a safety guarding Davonte Adams. So that's on the That's
on the Rams offensive coordinator staff. I'm pretty sure they
kicking themselves because they put Mitchell on Pook and the cop.
(50:26):
I don't even know who their second corner is.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
I think it.
Speaker 7 (50:28):
I think it might be the guy for USC and
they had read blankenship garden Davonte Adams.
Speaker 3 (50:35):
That's that's on the Rams.
Speaker 7 (50:36):
I mean, I gotta get an Eagles credit because you
gotta make the players when they're there. But I have
to you gotta throw some shade at the at the Rams,
how do you not take advantage of that?
Speaker 2 (50:44):
Yeah, I don't understand it. Ain't they was.
Speaker 3 (50:51):
Running the Hey take this out. They was running the ball.
Speaker 7 (50:54):
I know you watched the game because your center fan,
the Rams was averaging four point five yards of carry
out at one point.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
We stopped running the ball.
Speaker 6 (51:03):
Against against that defense. You gotta keep going to the
world to their stopping. They did not stop it. You
stopped yourself like they stopped calling the run.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 5 (51:12):
They'll see each other again.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
It's week three, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (51:15):
They they learned from their mistakes, but they don't see
each other again for sure.
Speaker 3 (51:20):
Yeah, for sure. But I hashed off to Jordan Davis.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
He lost some weight.
Speaker 7 (51:24):
The brother looked good out there, him and Jalen Carter.
They looked like the bass bros down there.
Speaker 3 (51:29):
So good on them. Good win for the Eagles.
Speaker 7 (51:32):
Like you said, some of it, coach is the offensive
coordinated the Eagles and some of us Jalen hurts. I
do believe his processor the upload at the same speed
as other quarterbacks, and it take him a while to
figure out what that defense is doing.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
But when he figure it out, he on point. But
I think it the Rams coverage.
Speaker 7 (51:51):
I think it gave him some trouble at the beginning
because if you look at it, he just checked everything down.
He wasn't getting the Norman amount of pressure. I just
don't think he understood what was going going on in
the first happen And it took somebody to be like,
you know what, a bro they playing aj Brown one
on one, A bro they playing Davonte Smith one on one.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
This is no zone. They played cat defense.
Speaker 7 (52:12):
The from what I've seen, I don't know, you know,
I had like, oh say, you got to look at
the all twenty two or something.
Speaker 6 (52:17):
So I just I just think at one point, you
look like he was he was being combative with the
with you know, he wasn't happy with what was going on,
like he I think there's some dissension in there as
far as you know what's being called when it's being called,
because when they when they do that flash of its
solid again we were catching lightning in the bottle type shit.
But at the same time, he don't look happy with
(52:38):
what's happening. Like he did not look happy.
Speaker 2 (52:40):
He didn't look comfortable. But at the same time, so
I don't like, oh say, we don't know what's really
going on.
Speaker 4 (52:46):
But again they're with that, with that, with all that talent,
you know, you can't take everything away from them like that.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
There's no way that they should ever be started. They
got too much talent out there.
Speaker 4 (52:58):
You got two even you got two great tight ends,
and you got a hell of a running back back there,
like I don't what can you do? And you got
a quarterback that can get you out of any situation.
You know, he's not gonna hurt you.
Speaker 6 (53:09):
He's gonna he gonna you know, he gonna put you
in an advantageous situation. So I don't understand how they're
ever in a situation where they look like they're stalling.
But you know, it is the NFL. Everybody gets paid,
everybody's professional. You know, there is you know, coordinators and
people watching film. But they they just have too much
talent over there. So but again, great games, So yeah,
(53:31):
we'll see they got a who they got they got
They got Tampa Bay this week coming up, so that
that's gonna be a good tough that's.
Speaker 2 (53:38):
At Tampa.
Speaker 4 (53:39):
Yeah, so switching their speeds a little bit. Man, let's
jump into some college football. It wasn't a lot of
marquee games over the weekend, but one one game I
saw in particular that was kind of our popp It
was how bad Indiana be Illinois?
Speaker 3 (53:55):
Man?
Speaker 4 (53:56):
I mean they crushed him sixty three to ten. And
you know that was a battle between two ranked teams.
I mean I wasn't expecting that. I mean, I Indiana
been playing well the last couple of seasons. They looked
like a really good football team, So I'm not surprised
they won, but sixty three ten, that's that was just
crazy to me.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
Did y'all get a chance to see that game?
Speaker 3 (54:18):
You I didn't. I didn't, KOVI, I ain't a lot
to you.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
Yeah, I got.
Speaker 6 (54:21):
You know, my my son's well, he's like my third son, Camar,
who plays for them. We talked to him, damn there
every day. He plays for Indiana, and I was talking
to him yesterday. I think the thing that caught people
off guard that quarterback, that quarterback is you know, he's unheralded.
He's coming because that defense is not That defense ain't
the same as it was last year. Indiana's defense is
(54:44):
not the same, and they're getting you know, of course
they have the most returners on that side of the
ball that's coming back, and they're you know, they're getting.
Before that game, they were getting a lot of you know,
fans were really on them about not performing up the standard,
which I don't understand. The standard in Indiana day and
one ship. Last year was the first winning season.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
But you know, that's what happened when you get spoiled.
Speaker 4 (55:06):
But at the end of the day, I think that
quarterback has has come a long way, very quickly, and
it's starting to kind of level them out on that
side of the ball because they got a good running
back to but that quarterback.
Speaker 6 (55:16):
Play well and they still got a surrat is still there,
so they got they got some offensive fire part.
Speaker 4 (55:22):
That quarterback played a good game. But we'll see because
they really haven't played anybody yet, to be honest, but
you know they you know, we'll see you in a
couple of We'll see you in a couple of weeks.
Speaker 6 (55:35):
Let's talk about let's talk about old Florida State. Y'all
got a big game.
Speaker 2 (55:40):
We good.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
We won't even talk about us.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
We good.
Speaker 3 (55:44):
Miami now we got university.
Speaker 6 (55:47):
We got u v A.
Speaker 8 (55:48):
I mean no, no u v A, u v A
this week, but Miami is next week. Correct, Yeah, we
tell you one game at a time. Over here, bro,
So what did so what did you think about car
performance in the last game? I mean, he cast him back,
cast him back to me, look like he playing having fun.
(56:11):
And when you having fun at quarterback or as a player,
you and you you get it, you you take out
all the the thinking so much with anything. I just
think he looks like he having fun. He got guys,
that's flying.
Speaker 3 (56:27):
Around, They laughing, they joking, they celebrating, they partying. I
just think he's having fun, that's all.
Speaker 5 (56:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (56:35):
He just he just looks like he's having fun. He
ain't worried about being the number one uh picking the draft.
He just looks like he having fun playing with his teammates.
They out there, they flying around. Even when he makes
mistakes the floor, the receivers going to him, tell him,
don't worry about it.
Speaker 3 (56:52):
We get it back.
Speaker 8 (56:53):
You know, when he does score, he's celebrating, party, throwing
it into a good pass, he's expressing it. So he
wasn't doing that when he was at Georgia last year.
Speaker 3 (57:03):
So I don't know.
Speaker 8 (57:05):
That's that's that's the only thing different than I see
you still got a good arm. You got obviously, you guys.
It always helps when you got some dogs. You know,
one thing, Miami gonna have it. Some receivers, we know that.
Speaker 3 (57:16):
So and the tight end they got a nice yea.
Speaker 5 (57:22):
Sometimes it change the scenery is good for a player.
Speaker 3 (57:26):
It's great for a player, you know. Yeah, yeah, I mean.
Speaker 5 (57:36):
That's what I've been saying.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
So the cop before you move on, or what you
think about the Oklahoma quarterback.
Speaker 5 (57:47):
I like him.
Speaker 3 (57:48):
I like him, and I like that. I like that
receiving number five he nil.
Speaker 5 (57:54):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's all. Yeah. They played against this
past week, right, you know, not.
Speaker 8 (58:01):
They played against Michigan. I thought, Oklahoma, my bad. Yeah,
Nebraska played against Michigan, my bag. Yeahod though, yeah.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
They looked he looked pretty good to me, So I
don't know. We'll see. At one thing though that I
don't think it was the what's his name, Max.
Speaker 8 (58:24):
Mad Dog to be on ESPN First Take Us he
said something that was really I don't agree with nothing
he said, but today he did say something this morning,
why is why is why do we have to split
Oregon playing against Penn State and then you got Alabama
playing against Georgia at the same time at seven thirty
(58:48):
like one on CBS, one on ABC, Like why like
come on college football? Put one of them at three
thirty and then put one of them at seven thirty
or one of them at you know, I don't know,
I don't understand that, and uh mac man Max talked
about that on which he made a great point, like
come on, man, but this week we ain't have no
(59:08):
hardly any like Marquee matchups like that, you know what
I mean? Like college football gotta do better, like they
they splitting it, splitting up the viewers. You know, I
think you know, obviously you can go to a you know,
you can split the screen, or you can go to
a bar or you know, somewhere and watch it. But
for the people that want to watch every play all
(59:29):
the whole time, gets like, man split.
Speaker 2 (59:32):
The joint up.
Speaker 3 (59:33):
Man put one at three thirty, one at seven thirty.
Speaker 2 (59:35):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (59:37):
Don't put your two best games on at the same time.
That's right, and O doll to your point. SEC football
always us to come on at three thirty.
Speaker 8 (59:46):
See always CBS three thirty three, CBS three thirty always always.
Speaker 3 (59:55):
So I don't know, yeah, I don't know what that's
all about, but it is. What of this?
Speaker 7 (01:00:00):
Hey, oh, you could take it one game at a time.
But I'm stopping everything I'm doing. Next Saturday, I'm gonna
be locked in Miami Florida State.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
Baby, Hey, I'm gonna be I'm gonna be honest with you.
Speaker 8 (01:00:11):
I'm I'm nervous about tomorrow night because in twenty and
eleven we went we went down to your UVA.
Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
Mm hm and they upset it on a Friday night.
So I'm I'm I don't. I don't like playing on
Friday nights. I don't.
Speaker 8 (01:00:29):
This This to me got upset written all over because
I feel like the team. You gotta have a locked
in team where we're saying we locked in, we don't
care about what next week.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
We all we focusing in on it right here, right now,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 8 (01:00:46):
And if not, you gonna see how we play when
we come out. So I hope they locked in. I
hope they focused. But this is definitely a trap game.
If I was, if I had some extra chain and
I was gonna bet something, this is the game I
will bet.
Speaker 3 (01:01:01):
Sure.
Speaker 4 (01:01:02):
But I say this about the Florida State. I don't
think that they'll get caught sleeping against U b A.
You know what I'm saying, because you got to understand
where Florida State came from to where they at now.
Speaker 5 (01:01:13):
I think they hungry.
Speaker 4 (01:01:14):
You know, they understood the struggle that they had in
the past season or so, and they ain't trying to
go go backwards, you know what I mean. I think
they're hungry. They're trying to show the country that they're
back they're still a force, you know what I mean,
and they're they're they're going to compete for a national title.
So I don't see them losing focus and getting surprised
by Uba.
Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
I hope, I hope you're right, brother.
Speaker 4 (01:01:37):
Yeah, So before we get out of here, let's get
some predictions for UH for week five. So I mean,
we don't got predict ALLAR games, but just some of
the marquee games. So going around the horn, L s U.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
Ol miss, is it that old miss?
Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
That old miss?
Speaker 3 (01:01:59):
I'm glad let's you L s U.
Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
I like, I like, I like the upset.
Speaker 8 (01:02:04):
I like Lane Kiffin in the upset just because you know,
Lane Kiffin got that show that's on ESPN right now
where they following where they talking about his life and
everything or whatever the case may be. So I don't know,
I think this is it's on ESPN.
Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
I think this is UH. It's gonna be the they're
gonna try to upset you.
Speaker 4 (01:02:22):
Speaking of his show. Oh you see his daughter Dave
Salonbacker from L s U. Yes, I saw that Take
the over, Take the Over.
Speaker 5 (01:02:37):
I'm gonna go with old miss.
Speaker 4 (01:02:38):
You know, I just can't. I never picked L s
U because of their coach, So son, that's that uh
Oregon Penn State big when they playing that Penn State.
Speaker 6 (01:02:53):
Penn State, I don't know. I got orgon man, I
got I got organ. I think I think they just
that Penn State is like they're like a fluid team
of organ. It's like a goddamn hot high octane for raight.
I think they just got too much for our power
for I.
Speaker 8 (01:03:10):
Think, what's the temperature gonna be? Is it gonna be
rainy and muddy? Is it gonna be you know, it's
gonna be supposed to.
Speaker 6 (01:03:16):
Be supposed to be eighty degrees this weekend and Tha's
still is still on the East coast.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Is it a right game?
Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
Yes, this is seven seven thirty games.
Speaker 8 (01:03:30):
I think I think I think it's a pen I
think for Penn State, this is a statement game. Let
let the country know that they're for real. So we'll
see I like, uh, everybody, my prediction is I'm gonna
go with the home chown the home team. I'm going
with Penn State.
Speaker 5 (01:03:46):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (01:03:47):
Yeah, I'm going with Penn State as well. I think
that that crowd gonna be rocking. It's gonna be all
white in there. It's gonna they're gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
Be all white. They're gonna wipe out.
Speaker 5 (01:04:00):
It's gonna be electric. So Alabama, Georgia in Georgia, in Georgia.
Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
I like Georgia. I like Georgia too.
Speaker 5 (01:04:11):
Yeah, Georgia like george Yeah, same here Georgia.
Speaker 4 (01:04:16):
So quick question, quick question with Alabama said, who who's
on the hot seat? Him A dabble, probably him, Probably him,
because if he lose, if he lose.
Speaker 6 (01:04:26):
This game to Georgia, they are what uh what is
Alabama's record right now?
Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
There? Ranked seventeen, but what's their record they got? They
gotta be what three and one? Yeah? Are they three
and one?
Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
I don't think they. I don't think they lost.
Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
Right, Okay, okay, So if he if he loses, if
he loses this game, they two and one. Excuse me?
Two and one? Yeah, because when we were week four,
week five, week four matchups. So yeah, yeah, I think Georgia.
Speaker 7 (01:05:03):
But to answer your question, is him man like being
from South Carolina, Davo is a legend. He'll have to leave,
like he's built so much equity with that program. It'll
be him just leaving instead of him getting fired because.
Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Before he got there, Yeah, already said ship. He don't
give a ship. He's gonna have a job anyway.
Speaker 6 (01:05:23):
That's pretty much what he said in this last I said,
it don't matter be coaching somewhere, So do what you want.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Now he'll be all right.
Speaker 5 (01:05:31):
Yeah, but ship, That's all I get. Fellas, Man, y'all
want to leave our views and listens with something before
we get out of here.
Speaker 8 (01:05:38):
I got something that asked y'all since y'all back home, Well,
but y'all back on the east coach uh and uh cole,
what do y'all think about this quarterback from University of
Maryland that's going that's going crazy even though they haven't
really played anyone. Yeah, the freshman that's ball and throwing
the ball around. What y'all think about him?
Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
It's impressive, man.
Speaker 4 (01:06:01):
They've been talking about him even on the local news
out here and just watching I haven't watched Maryland play
like a game in entirety, but I have been watching
clips of him. Man, he looks like a talented young man.
He showed maturity, a lot of poise to be a freshman.
You know what I'm saying. He and he definitely throwing
(01:06:21):
that ball around. He uses legs when he have to.
I think they got a gym in him, you know
what I mean? I think if you build around him Maryland,
can you know.
Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
Do you think he do you think he stays there
all three years? No?
Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
Probably not, probably not because you know how this is
he gonna.
Speaker 6 (01:06:41):
I don't know what type of resources Maryland got, but
somebody's gonna throw that bag at him.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
And I don't think you don't know what type of
resources they got they got Kevin Plank he.
Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
No, no, but no, I don't. I don't know if
they gonna. I don't know.
Speaker 8 (01:06:56):
I mean, that's that's quite a that's falls, that's right,
a bag to have, right, that's quite that somebody that's
actually name yeah, yeah, at all times, somebody that you know.
Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:07:08):
So I don't know if the money is there for
him to stay.
Speaker 8 (01:07:14):
Of course, it's just I feel I feel as they exposure,
like you know, I don't get it. I don't get
the WB channel out here, so I can't watch Maryland game,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
I don't get the WB channel thirty two. You know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
You know, I don't he and Coke and Cop could
tell you he even here in the d n V.
He ain't. You gotta really look for him.
Speaker 4 (01:07:38):
Then you know he's getting some but he ain't getting
the exposure even here on the East coast.
Speaker 6 (01:07:44):
Right, you know, unless you following Maryland football or you
know or following that, you know that conference, you know
more about the local hospital teams than you do Maryland.
Speaker 5 (01:07:56):
He'll be out of blue.
Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
Blood Florida state. You need a quarterback next year they
quarterback and seeing Miami gonna need another, Miami gonna need one.
Speaker 5 (01:08:05):
He got you gonna have plenty of options.
Speaker 6 (01:08:08):
Oh before, oh, before we go out here, And I
know we said a pre pre show, I was telling
Cob and mole Man, did you see that the n
C double a for for basketball gave the cat theory
from the G League? He played in the G League
for three years, and he just gave him eligibility in
the NBA back in college.
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Did you see that?
Speaker 5 (01:08:31):
So so he got two years of eligibility in college.
Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
Right, he got two years of eligibility in college.
Speaker 4 (01:08:36):
He already played three years of G League basketball professionally,
or however you titled that G league. It's still to me,
it's still professional basketball, so that's going back.
Speaker 5 (01:08:47):
So by the time just two years in college, he's
gonna be down retirement. He will be.
Speaker 6 (01:08:55):
But so so if you if the if the n
C the n C Double A did for basketball, what
do you think is gonna happen? Do they have the
opportunity because I know there was some talk of some
of the I think the running back, one of the
running backs from.
Speaker 3 (01:09:14):
I think it was from South Carolina. It was South
Carolina running back too well, it was one.
Speaker 6 (01:09:21):
Of the guys that wasn't he was came out as
he came out as a I think he came out
pretty decent in the draft, but he wasn't getting playing time,
and it was talking about him going back to college
because he wasn't getting what he's They were entertaining giving
him his eligibility back to going back to.
Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
College, ain't. I ain't see that.
Speaker 8 (01:09:45):
I thought, once you get drafted and you are becoming
a professional athlete in football, I don't know how it
is in basketball.
Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
I thought you couldn't go back.
Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
Yeah, that's how as well too, But it seemed like
now they change the rules as they go.
Speaker 6 (01:09:59):
Yeah, because it was it was it was talk about
it right right doing preseason because he wasn't happy about
I have to look it back up because I think.
Speaker 8 (01:10:06):
But are you talking about the gentleman that didn't sign
until until late because it was a gentleman that he
hadn't signed, you correct, he had not right, he hadn't signed. Yeah,
but he hadn't signed it. He hadn't signed his paperwork.
He was talking about the because they were talking about
the deal and the guaranteed money because a lot of
the second round draft picks didn't sign for a very
long time, you know what I mean, And then he
(01:10:27):
was one of the ones that didn't sign until the
very very last, you know, the last minute. So that's
why he's Yeah, he was talking about talking about going back.
But yeah, besides besides that, I don't know. I mean,
my whole thing is, you know, why would you go
you just got drafted in the second round. Why would
you go back to college?
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
You get hurt?
Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
Yeah, but it's crazy that they did that.
Speaker 4 (01:10:55):
So you know, that's that's something to look at moving forward,
because that to me, that that's that's wild. You already
got these guys that are mature, you know, body wise,
age wise, and now you got all that NBA experience
and you're taking it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
Back to the college ranks. That's the blueprint, bro, Like
you like, what.
Speaker 3 (01:11:13):
Are we doing? What college did he go to?
Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
NBA?
Speaker 3 (01:11:17):
Did anybody know what college he's going to?
Speaker 5 (01:11:19):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
I don't know they. I just saw it flashed up
right before before we came on. I was talking to Cold.
His name is Theory, last name is Theory. He played
three years in the G League.
Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
But I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
I don't know where he's going.
Speaker 6 (01:11:33):
But they did, they did approve his eligibility to go back,
so you got two years of eligibility left.
Speaker 5 (01:11:40):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:11:41):
I feel I feel bad for these high school players, bro.
They about to be out, specifically uh public school. They
might as well just abandon all of their athletic programs,
especially for like men's basketball, football, stuff like that.
Speaker 8 (01:11:59):
Because it was a kid in my office today he
was supposed to commit to Wisconsin.
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
He told him he ready to commit. They've been recruited him,
recruiting him. You couldn't you can't sign, Yeah, it ain't signing.
You can't shigne he was.
Speaker 8 (01:12:17):
He told him the little guard, the left hand guard
that I'll be sharing on the on our group chat
coach you met with him. He was ready to sign,
I mean commit. Call the coaches like, coach, I'm ready
to commit, stop my my recruiting. They told him, Uh, yeah,
we're gonna hold off on that because, uh we got
a couple of people that's in the track that might
(01:12:38):
be in the transfer portal that were thinking.
Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
He was like, damn, So it just goes to show you, man,
it's crazy out here. I told him, just keep his
head up.
Speaker 8 (01:12:49):
Man, I told him, I said, at this point, you
better going to a men major kill put up big
buckets and then going to transfer.
Speaker 4 (01:12:56):
Reporter, exactly what I told him when you gave me
an opportunity to speak to them, I said, look, man,
like these days, you don't have to go straight to
the Power five to the Blue. You can go to
a men major Lord Division one, put up big numbers
in your sophomore junior year, and you right to where
you wanted to be in the first.
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Place, in the first all the experience you want to get,
all the game experience.
Speaker 8 (01:13:19):
Ye, and because they're gonna be quick to take you
before they take a freshman sophomore two years from now. Anyway,
like you said, coach, pretty soon they're gonna get rid
of and you're gonna get recruited.
Speaker 5 (01:13:33):
Out of AAU anyway. Yeah, yeah, it might not.
Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
You might well just play high school sports just to play.
Speaker 7 (01:13:40):
On the flip side, though, they're not patient with coaches anymore.
So the game kind of forced this because they want
the coaches to have these ready made products. You don't
get the Thompson's and and the coaches like that anymore
where they give them leeway and latter two to have
a bad recruiting class.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
They want these coaches to perform right away.
Speaker 7 (01:13:57):
So the transfer portal is I won't to say it's
a safest bet, but it's a safer bet you already
got to take for what they did at the collegiate level.
Speaker 8 (01:14:05):
So yeah, I mean they got you ain't got worried
about them worrying about classes and knowing how well, not
that theyre going to class anybody, but just learning the
whole college game and learning how to adjust and all that.
Speaker 3 (01:14:17):
So it's.
Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
Yeah, and for most and for most kids coming out
of high school into into the college environment, when you
got to compete for a position against somebody who already
been in college for two years, it's a different ball game.
Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:14:34):
They older, they bigger, they stronger, you know what I mean,
they understand the game a little more because they've been
around you know what I'm saying, I've seen it. Of course,
you got that handful of special special talents coming out
of high school where they can make the adjustment right
away and they all right because they weren't done. But
for the vast majority, that's a that's a big that's
(01:14:54):
a big transition for them to have to adjust to
the speed and to the to the strength and side.
As of those college athletes that's been there for a
couple of years already, but they should be focusing on
JUCO now. Since you can go to Juico two years
and you don't lose any UH college eligibility. You can
go two years at JUCO and still get your four
(01:15:15):
years in the Division one. That that might be the
pay for those you know, those guys in particular that's
getting looked over by the.
Speaker 5 (01:15:24):
One schools.
Speaker 8 (01:15:26):
I mean, I look at it as the men major
that you want to use the men Major like a JUCO, Right,
so they on the two years what you're playing on,
take your team to the UH the tournament, have a
good tournament, run ball out you you be straight?
Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
Which now?
Speaker 8 (01:15:40):
And then my last two quick questions, which I'll think
about the Virginia Tech football coach being fired in Oklahoma State?
Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
Which you think about what you call being fired from
Oklahoma State.
Speaker 6 (01:15:51):
I think I think Gundhy was just a matter of time.
I think that was more of a you know, I
think it was more of a mutual mutual agreement because
Gundhy been there forever. Undis, Mike Undy's been there. Oh,
Oklahoma State forever, all shut out. Yeah, And the Virginia
Tech situation, I'm surprised that the damn coach made it
(01:16:11):
to the beginning of this season.
Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
He should have been fired last year. That's but you know, uh,
while they wait to what to two games into the
middle of the season, what was the expectation for him
to do different?
Speaker 4 (01:16:24):
Maybe they was just trying to give him a chance
to you know. Yeah, So now now they scrambling. You know,
we got big fella down there. I just talked to
him day before yesterday.
Speaker 6 (01:16:37):
They scrambling now because of course they don't know who
the coach gonna be, so they playing with the interim
tag and so everybody just kind of got you know,
tails tucked and everybody's trying to, you know, do a foriurself.
But you know the talk was D'Angelo Hall or Mike Vick.
I think Mike got to get in. Don't Mike gott
to go two years before he really gets some consideration
from there.
Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
To go back to Tech. And then what's the Hall.
Speaker 6 (01:17:00):
What's the Halls coaching experience? Because I know they want
somebody from Tech back that they gotta get.
Speaker 4 (01:17:05):
They gotta bring old Buddy ain't going He ain't leaving
South Carolina, so that ain't going back. So they got
to get some Virginia Tech blood in there. The name
that's swirling around is the Angelo. I don't know, I
don't know much about it, but that's the name to
swell around. Of course, they got Victor.
Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Vic still in Trench Down and that he's just getting
started at Norfolk State.
Speaker 4 (01:17:28):
It's just like those players. They'll even know that name.
Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
Is if it come.
Speaker 7 (01:17:36):
His football acumen will grow as a coach as long
as he can manage the game, which he can because
he played it at a high level.
Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
You just need a good staff.
Speaker 7 (01:17:44):
His name gonna attract, you know, D MV talent to
come just off his name alone, of course, So of
course I hope I fess the luck to Mike Vig.
I hope he takes the job, because at the end
of the day, you never ready for what you're doing.
Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
No, go take it. But j and Tech me lose.
Speaker 8 (01:18:02):
They not even They're not even. They're not even keeping
their hometown kids home like you know what I mean,
that's what they used at least keep at least the
majority of the hometown kids home state.
Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
And they come in there and take all them cats.
Speaker 8 (01:18:18):
They losing kids. They losing kids to James Madison and and.
Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Older than me.
Speaker 2 (01:18:26):
That's a fact. They just lost about twenty points. Yeah,
that's why I'm five.
Speaker 5 (01:18:33):
They they just getting the paperwork together at.
Speaker 4 (01:18:37):
That and during the halftime they already had it said
he is getting fired immediately tied off of win. You know,
they had a tough game against Wolf. You know what
I'm saying, They got that w but going to a
C C play m hmmright.
Speaker 3 (01:19:03):
But that being said, wish him nothing but the best, man.
It's been a great show.
