Speaker 6 (02:27):

rocking you for three homers. Man, that's that's playing. That's yeah,
come on, bro, who does that? That's video game the
ultimate the ultimate weapon.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Yeah, no question about it. What I think about last night, man,
some good. That was some good.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
That was some great opening that game one.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Oh yeah, I only saw the first game only I
only saw the Houston OKC game.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
But that was the hell of a game.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
That's the only team that played.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
No Golden State plag last night to.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
That's the only Golden State player.
Speaker 4 (03:06):

That's the reason why I'm rocking the pink joint, rocking
the pink, no cap pink, you know what I mean,
or whatever the case may be. So shout out to
all our listeners and viewers. My mom personally is someone
(03:55):
who went through that. She is still here with us.
She is a survivor, is a fighter. So shout out

that went through it or going through it, or you
lost a loved one, we are we support you, we

Speaker 4 (04:14):
So absolute, Yeah they having Mom, I love you, I
miss you. Yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
And I got a I got my little nephew he's
seven years old that's going through it as well.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
So we all, we all been touched by for.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Sure, question, no question.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Yeah. So what yall think about the football games?
Speaker 6 (04:32):
MANU NFL, I ain't college football?
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Some good ones. Bro.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
I think Cincinnati shud you know, showed us the right
way to start your weekend off last Thursday. Took care
surprised a lot of people, really real happy with the
way your former quarterback from your team, Joe Flacco.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
One thing about Flacoh he know how to get.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
That ball out of his hands, throw the ball all
around the yard. I thought that was very important. And yeah,
I thought it was some good football. Detroit looked real
good on Monday, dominant. They looked like they look here,
ain't no, ain't no letdown, don't get game one, don't
let game one for you.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Around it's all it's all starting to come together. You've
got Kansas City getting all their weapons back. They're looking good.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Yeah, that was That's looked pretty good.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
That looked good.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
They look pretty Yeah. I definitely like how I like
how Pickens is.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
You know, he ain't dropped off when CD came back,
and the running back is doing well and Dak Daku
is getting the ball out of his hand as well,
playing playing some real good football.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Yeah, what's going on with Miami? Man? They falling apart
at the seams. Well, they're bad. They're a bad football team.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
They're bad football team and any bad leadership. They messed
up when they paid two or anyway. So I would
have never paid two, or if I would have paid two,
I would have gave him one another one year. You know,
I would franchise him, franchise tag him, and in that
way he has to prove to me. So which I
don't understand is because the simple fact is when you
got weapons like a wattle and Tyreek Hill, even when
(06:15):
Tyreek take it, even when he's slowing down, he's still one.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Of the top five, top ten fastest people.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
In the league.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
So I just feel like you just got to have
a certain type of leader to lead men when you're
playing that you playing, I apologize, when you're playing for, uh,
the Miami Dolphins, you got to have a leader, man.
And I think their coaches time is up, I think,
(06:42):
and you know, I think he sort of lost the
locker room. So when you lose the locker room, it's
tough to it's tough to uh get players to play
for you.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yeah, I like how I like how Cobe Brissette stepped
in and playing well for the Arizona car Speaking of leadership,
lack of leadership, you know, God steps in and doing
what even though they didn't win, you know.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Oh yeah, yeah, he's he's always been reliable.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
Oh yeah, yeah, he's gonna play another five years in
the NFL if you want to.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Yeah, he definitely taking advantage of that situation. What happened?
What happened to Geno smith Man? You just fell off
all of a sudden.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Right, No, he didn't fall off. He went to the Raiders.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
That's what it is in Las Vegas.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
It's the difference.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
It's the difference of playing for a pro team in
Seattle in the team just in Vegas. Yeah, your practice
and you and you play five minutes away from the well.
Now you play basically on the strip practice and you
practiced thirty minutes away from the strip.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Yeah, gotta be mindset, gotta be different.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Speaking of Vegas, you're here that rumors are out the
uh it's a bidding war for the for their defensive
en is a defensive end.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
What's what's the name Crosby? Max Crosby.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Yeah, it's a bill for him and a couple of
other teams are inquiring the bottom I know.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Oh yeah, oh so oh so so Vegas, Like man,
I see how many picks we can get in the
trade or something.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Huh yeah, right, nice night.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
So he definitely I think you definitely need to trade
him now you can get some for him, you know,
because that's you know, that would be the best thing,
because you don't one because he definitely ain't going back
then when his deal well even though he just signed
a new deal I think even last year, right before this.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
So mm hmmm, yeah, it could be interesting how it
goes here in the next couple of days. Somebody go
make a move for him. Definitely, he worked regardless, crazy, regardless.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Oh yeah, he's a dog.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
College football, a lot of ranked teams went down this
past weekend. What's your thoughts on those games? I didn't
even look.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
I text. I text put me to let him know
I was. I was in this area.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
I didn't realize his mom was playing on Friday evening
and I was like, oh, okay, now I see why
he ain't answering me, because the TV happened to flash
to you know, the highlights, and that's all Miami lost.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
So I was like, you gotta do a bigger.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
Man, and that I asked when he called me, I
call his mom, I said, mom, Bro I called his brother,
and his brother was like, oh, you know, he ain't
answering the phone. If he don't, you know, he don't
care who you are. He ain't answering the phone, and
his mob blues and I was like you right. So
he didn't answer the phone. But he finally came to
(09:53):
and was like.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
My bag, I was sick. I said, yeah, you know
what I said.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
But y'all, Sami still in a good places. They lost
one game, so what it ain't like.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
It used to be. You it's better to get that
one loss out the way.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Well, here's the here's the here's the crazy part.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Oh, I don't know if it's whether they lost right
now or not. Is remember the quarterback man. That's the
same way he started hitting it down with slide when
he was at Georgia throwing them picks, and he didn't
he didn't recover from when he started throwing them. I mean,
they were playing good defense, but he just looked like
his old Georgia self. So hopefully he recovers and uh,
(10:32):
you know, and gets back on track, because you know
that's how he fell off the grid last.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Year or the year before with Georgia. So they all
gonna go as far as he take them.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Yeah, I hope he continue your I hope they lose
every game. I'm Florida State.
Speaker 6 (10:58):
Y'all play this week game. Y'all play who y'all play,
It don't matter. We get ready for that. We get
ready for spring man spring ball. Hey, hey, just a
week ago.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
They give it to five. They give me to have
a new head coach. They canna be looking for a
head coach and a quarterback.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
Hey, hey, except September. September first was a good day,
was beautiful. October twenty second, that's so much.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Man, You know the Dame had a nice win.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Man.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
I love, I love, and it's crazy cause I'm saying
I love. And that's his name. Man, that young man,
that running back number four. Man Man, right man, he
running certain certain people. You know you was a former player, basketball, football, hockey, whatever, soccer.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
They sort of remind you of stuff.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
You you know you used to do, man, and remind
you of your sort of style. Right man, he run
that ball. Man of the way he run the ball.
Bro I love the way he run the ball.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
He is.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
He is a good and he a good teammate too.
He's a great team he seems like he's a great teammate.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Mm hmmm, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
I talked to I talked to Jordan Clark, Bryan Clark's
son about him when we went to when we went
to dinner, when he was out here training for the
UH for the season and getting ready for the Combine
in his draft or whatever, and I asked him about him,
and he was like, man, he cool, laid back. You
know that you would ever think he knocks at that
(12:33):
number twenty four saved y'all though that that kickoff return
was huge.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Oh he do that. He do that almost every week.
He a beat, right, Yeah, he knows.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
But I got the only probably got with number twenty
four is his uniforms.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Sure, whoever beat though a monster?
Speaker 5 (12:58):
You y'all, y'all a monster, But don't do that every kicker.
You didn't do that against Who did y'all lose against?
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Who y'all lose?
Speaker 5 (13:04):
Y'all lost against some ofod when, Oh, y'all don't have
no losses this year.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
It's been so long ago. I don't remember. Knock it off, man.
Speaker 6 (13:16):
You know, some people go for other people's go backwards,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (13:20):
I don't you know, I don't remember our losses. It
wasn't recent, it wasn't a reason. I was probably in
another time zone the last time.
Speaker 6 (13:29):
We lost right right there, right right.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Right there, right there. Why my goodness, why crazy Why.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
Man, man, man man, We gotta get this name rolling
man CoA Joe got.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
To go.
Speaker 6 (13:56):
M hm and he popping in. I thought I seen him.
He working on connecting his mic so we can add
him to the show. He backstage.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
Okay, I was gonna say.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
That dope man even before he come on here. Man,
he's a og man. Oh man, man. I actually loved why.
Speaker 7 (14:15):
I used to love watching him play bro He used
to run that ball when he was at UVA.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
Man like that, like that, Like if it wasn't no
ESPNS and none of that, you got your local change,
got you got, you got a chance to watch.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
UVA Universe University of Maryland.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
I ain't back in the day.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
I ain't even seen no Virginia Technic like that.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
Oh yeah, it's a crazy part about.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
So men, this dude have known each other since nineteen
ninety and the only reason we know each other is
because of football.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
But this will be the first time we've talked football ever.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Whowever and when I mean when I mean, man, that
this dude.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Like you said, oh he's a og. This dude is
like my big brother. Man.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
He he turned the keys over to the castle when
we were at Faram And so you know, for me,
it's just it's just one of them things, man, where
you got a dude man that that you know, all
of his greatness.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
But when we're around each other, it was just like we.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Are just real dude. Nobody you know, we For me anyway,
I ain't never give it. He'll tell you when when
I first know, I was like, who the hell.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Is Chris Warning? I don't give a ship Chris Warning.
But we hit it off, man.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
But he is probably one of the most humble dudes
that I know outside of you know, outside of the
crew that we have on here.
Speaker 6 (15:42):
Man.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
So you know, you know, just just when you.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Start talking about all his accolades, he probably won't bring
him up because that's just what type of dude is.
But that dude, man, it is probably one of the
best running backs in the nineties. If you you know,
you add him to probably top I think what was
it ninety two through ninety seven, he was in the
top twenty at one point he was top two.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
He's like this man, this motherfuckers for real?
Speaker 6 (16:10):
Yeah, Coach, cause you know, you know, I'm excited to
have have Chris on and get to chop it up
with him. He's somebody his names run bells for me
for a long time being from northern Virginia and hearing
about this awesome running back at Robinson High School out
dan fairfaxt. So now I get to get to chop
(16:31):
it up with the myth and the legend. So you
know what, why don't you go ahead to introduce our
special guests for this evening, Coach.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
And man one of recently he is recently one of
the Seattle Seahawks' top fifty players of all time.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
He is still currently their all time leading Russia.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
And in twenty eighteen, I believe, if I'm not mistaken,
he was inducted, not inducted, but nominated for the whole
Hall of Fame alongside of it was it Shan Alexander
And I forget mother man Waters, Ricky Waters, And like
you said, man one of Virginia's own sons, Robinson's first son.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Let's bring him on, mister Chris Warren, Welcome to the
secast for so podcast, Chris.
Speaker 8 (17:22):
Hey, Hey, what's up, fella's say, Man, I'm having a
connection problems.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
Can y'all see? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (17:27):
I see you on two different cameras, So I'm gonna
go ahead and take the other one off. Oh let
me check this one down. All right, okay, all right, yeah, yes, sir,
How you doing, big bro? There we go?
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Good? Good man?
Speaker 8 (17:52):
How got fellas doing the night we're doing?
Speaker 4 (17:58):
Yeah? We got you.
Speaker 6 (18:06):
Okay, let me uh all right, I removed I removed
the other cameras, so were good.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Yeah, you know what it is. It's little brow in
the building.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
Yeah, that's what's up. Mm hmm yeah.
Speaker 6 (18:27):
Man, so we we We definitely appreciate you coming on
the show, Chris and showing the podcast some love, man,
and giving our view as the listeners of opportunity to
hear your amazing journey, your story football life, whereas of wisdom. Man,
I can't wait. I was telling the fellas earlier. You
(18:48):
know you you you're you're a legend because I'm I'm
from Northern Virginia and your name always ranked bells and uh.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
It is a pleasure and the honor to be able
to sit here and chop it up with Yeah, yeah,
for sure. Man. You know I'm here for tonight. You know,
y'all got me.
Speaker 8 (19:12):
You know, we can talk about everything from high school,
college pros, you know, the upstdam yeah, towns, uh you know,
uh you know, talk about the future.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
Yeah, so let's jump right into it. So, so where
did the legend.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Chop it up? Oh?
Speaker 8 (19:39):
Man? I started out and I was born in Silver
Spring and quickly moved down to Charles County, Maryland, a
little small town called Indian Head, yep.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
And that's that's where I got my chops.
Speaker 8 (19:52):
That's where I got my my, my toughness, That's where
I got my you know, my introduction of sports. Uh
you know, seeing all the guys before me in the neighborhood. Uh,
my dad, my uncle's, you know, just so many other
influences that you know, probably never would have heard of
it before, but you know, I had such an impact,
you know on on my future uh sports career. So yeah,
(20:17):
that was my humble beginnings from Charles County, Maryland, Woodland
Village and uh made it up all the way to
all pro so uh, you know, it was quite a journey,
but that was that was my start.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
So go ahead, coach Mill No, no, no, So when
so when you got started, Man, what was your first love?
Because you was you was a multiple sport athletes, So
what was the first love?
Speaker 4 (20:43):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (20:43):
Man, My first love was baseball. I was a pitcher, uh,
center field and shortstop. So you know, I was playing
you know, semi pro at thirteen years old, and you know,
had had the Yankees scouted me, uh in high school.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
They used to come to the baseball games, and but
it just.
Speaker 8 (21:02):
You know, it weren't weren't that many opportunities, you know,
to go straight from uh, you know, from from college
right to the pros. You know, I probably would have
been in the in the minor leagues for a couple
of years, and you know, who knows what, but you
know it was for me growing up. You know, that
probably was the only way you was gonna make it,
you know, coming from where I came from with sports.
(21:24):
So whatever season it was, I was playing you know, baseball, football, track, basketball, uh,
you know whatever. So and I continued that on up
until I got to Robinson and I did uh baseball
and track at the same time. So that was up
until my junior year and then I couldn't keep going
(21:45):
on in my senior year with that, so I had
to give up baseball. But you know, I also ran
track in high school, so I think that's where I
developed my speed and the top end speed, being able
to maintain my speed, you know, speeding, durance and all
that stuff. I learned that from track. So you know,
(22:07):
well rounded background as far as that led me to
my football career. Sports wise, that's tough.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
That's tough, coach Chris.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
First of all, Man, it's always a pleasure to see you,
big dog.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
It's always a pleasure to see you. Man.
Speaker 5 (22:24):
You already know whether we in Seattle, you know what
I mean, and we hang it out in Seattle or whatever.
You always show show your boy love. We back in
the day in DC or you know what I mean.
Whatever you saw me out, man, it was always love.
Whether I was with your little bro, my big bro,
Sean Springs, or I was just by myself. Once it
(22:46):
was an introduction, it was it was love. So I
tell people all the time, Man, I appreciate you. Man.
You you always looked out for me no matter where
I was. It's a little knucklehead running around Seattle. I
don't know where I'm going. You know, you see me,
you be like, oh what the hell you doing?
Speaker 4 (23:04):
I like.
Speaker 5 (23:10):
You like I'd be like, see, look, I ain't gotta
play on Sunday, Sean gotta play ship.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
I'm I'm outside watch him play. But you know, I
always give your flyer, always tell you I appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
But who who was some of your coaches that was,
you know, influential? And I know you said you know,
your your uncles and your dad, but was it any
coaches that sort of like pulled you and be like,
hey man, you got a real opportunity to do something
with this football.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Was it one of your coaches at Robinson? Was it
one of your little league coaches? Or who's what?
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Can you tell our listeners if you was, who were
one of your coaches that sort of you know, helped
you guide you and sort of get you on that
right path to say, hey, Chris, this can really be
something that helped, you.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Know, take care of you as well as help take
care of your family.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (24:05):
At uh, at every level of sports I played on
I had, I had great coaches and my talent and
like consin I should be playing where I could be
most useful, you know, all the way from uh from
my first league team.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (24:26):
Uh you know that that boys are running back, that
boys are running back. You know you tried my receiver
offensive line anyway, so you.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Know that that that was funny how it was. That's
that's all started.
Speaker 8 (24:43):
And you know, as I you know, got older, I
went to uh went to high school, I didn't play
in my freshman year. I only played like three years
of little league football, and like I didn't play after
like I don't know, maybe seventh. I didn't play again
until tenth grade for football wise, But when I did
(25:07):
start playing along the way, UH, Coach Hines, my running
back coach at Robinson, he was you know, he was
one of the one of the coaches that you know
told me about the recruiting game.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Uh, you know, with with the look uh you.
Speaker 8 (25:27):
Know, practices I need to have with my skill level
had to be to get to the goal I wanted,
which was I wanted to be a D one, you know,
starting D one running back.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
So you know, the.
Speaker 8 (25:38):
Offense was was geared towards me. We ran an option,
triple option, UH, toss left, toss right.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (25:47):
I've been outside zones since since tenth grade and uh
continued all all the way up through uh through Dallas
when I played with Dallas in Seattle, Philly as well.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
So uhh, this just a bunch of coaches.
Speaker 8 (26:01):
Uh, my running back coaches I had at and in Seattle,
they were just you know, invaluable to me because just
fine tune my game. I had all the tools you
know to be a great running back, you know, to speak, equipments, uh,
good hands, Uh, you know, could run inside, could run outside,
(26:22):
and but you know, I had to learn the other
party game past protection, you know, catching the ball, running routes,
knowing where to be on the field.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
So h it was a collection.
Speaker 5 (26:37):
I'm sure gotcha appreciate that.
Speaker 6 (26:42):
Hey, Chris, how did you How did you get from
Maryland to Virginia?
Speaker 4 (26:48):
What? What? What had you go across the bridge to
the Virginia side. Fretty funny story. Uh.
Speaker 8 (27:00):
I was at this this school called Lackey High School,
and I was going to play the year there and
I was still living in Maryland. I just took a
job up and I went out for the football team.
So I get out there after you know, being around
the neighborhood, everybody.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
Knows, you know, what I can do. You know.
Speaker 8 (27:24):
So I'm thinking, Okay, I'm the next running back that
comes through Lackey High School, and you know they're gonna start.
So I get the practice and the first day of practice,
I was playing left tackle in ninth grade. I said, oh,
(27:46):
something wrong here, something is not right, something is not right.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
I want me. They want me to get out of here.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
They tried, they try to keep you.
Speaker 8 (27:57):
Yeah, that day I walked, I left practice, walked home.
I was like I was and that was it. I
told her mom, I said, Mom, I got to move Virginia.
I said, I'm not gonna be able to make it
out of here like this. These coach don't know what
they're doing. Talking about an experience that was my my
(28:20):
you know, my my awakening. Yeah, experiment right. Put Chris
in left time, left time to go back year that
was nineteen whatever, eighty two, eighty three. Nah man, than wow, crazy,
(28:48):
So you know that was you know at that time,
you know, I was, I was, you know, wanting to
go to get to get a scholarship. You know, you
see not the Dame on TV, see all Penn State,
you see all the you know, the glory of college
football back back in the eighties, you're like, man, I'm
giving me a scholarship, so I couldn't make it, you know.
(29:12):
Being so that was my main reason for for switching
schools was just opportunity.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
Hey you you had good feet, so you'd have made
a hell of a tackle. Oh man.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Uh hey, so so you say you play. So once
you come over to Virginia and you you and all
these sports, when when did the reality of going to
college for football really hit? Because I'm sure you had
some opportunity, like to say, you have baseball going on,
you had track going on. When did when did you
decide that football was was the thing for you?
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Like that was gonna get you to college? Oh man,
that's a great question.
Speaker 8 (30:02):
It was probably my junior year, Week three, Week four,
coach tells me there's gonna be scouts at the game.
Uh so I'm like scouts for what I'm thinking, like,
you know, it's someone might just take a film the
next day or whatever. But he said, no, it's some
(30:23):
it's some coaches coming in to watch you play. Like
I don't know, I can't remember. Teams might be Clemson
or whatever whatever, but we just have a scrimmage that
day and uh, you know, it's what you got. If
you gotta, if you mean, you gotta run somebody over,
if you gotta, you know, make somebody looked bad.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
But they come here to see you what you can do.
Speaker 8 (30:48):
And you know, from that day on, I was performing
for for the Scouts even though they weren't there, but
that was that was my motivation. Every day was like, Okay,
I got a practice, like the Scouts are watching, try
I get that scholarship.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
That was my main.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
So what made you, I know you was getting recruited
by everybody? Or what schools were you getting recruited by?
And what made you decide to go to u v A?
Like what what why.
Speaker 7 (31:16):
U v A?
Speaker 8 (31:21):
H H Yeah, I could have went anywhere. My top
top five was Ohio State, Notre Dame.
Speaker 6 (31:30):
Ah, Penn State, US at Guba.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
It was just you know, home home thing I was.
Speaker 8 (31:39):
I was still far away from home, still close enough
to home, but the team was on the uprise.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
They had, you know, going to a big Bowl game.
Speaker 8 (31:49):
A lot of guys were coming back that top five
recruiting class in the country when I went to UVA.
So the guys that came into you, uh that that
ended up you know, we had Sean Moore that that
was there.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
Uh Ray Savage, Herrman Moore.
Speaker 8 (32:08):
So you know, a bunch of guys came came in
and you know, take the program to the next level.
H You know, as as as you go to school,
you know, college, how things get you know, things don't
work out. I had a great freshman year even though
I didn't play. Uh I didn't play running back at all.
(32:28):
I played corner my freshman and uh I was a
co A SEC Rookie of the Year as a cornerback.
And uh because we had Barry Word Howard pet uh
it was too DOWNA might running back see already for
two three years and they were seeing it. I wasn't
(32:49):
gonna see any time. So uh I ended up transitioning
in the corner. Ended up ended up being a good platform.
And uh yeah, I could have gone anywhere else if
my last two final decisions, UH I would have gone
to USC if I didn't go to UVA.
Speaker 6 (33:11):
Mm hmmm, christ I want to back it up just
a little bit, because you did play at Robinson High
School Northern Virginia and the football was was was very
tough in Northern Virginia during that time. I know you
had your rivals with Lake Braddock, and you know around
the corner was like West Springfield, and then you had
(33:32):
your TC Williams. Tell us about the competition that you faced,
uh every Saturday or every Friday night against against those
Northern Virginia powerhouses. Yeah, I get the last part, said
(34:03):
tell them our views of listeners.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
Yeah, went out for a second. I didn't get the
last part.
Speaker 6 (34:09):
Okay, I'll just start over. So, so you came you
came up in Northern Virginia at Robinson while I'm during
the time where there was a lot of great high
school football talent teams competition and if you can tell
less and the viewers and listeners kind of described how
(34:30):
what it felt like every Friday night going against those
going against those top team in Northern Virginia, like a
Lake Braddock, West Springfield, uh T C.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Williams and Adelle. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (34:48):
Man, it was, Uh it was tough competition. Every week.
It was a beast you had to play against. We
had crosstown rival Lake Braddock. You know that was always
a tough game. Uh, West Springfield h top game.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
On the line.
Speaker 8 (35:10):
I remember, you know, just every team he played for,
they were guy on the team. They had two three
four players. Uh, Tis Williams had the twins McNeil and
Joe left Better and the whole team full of full
of athletes and teams and the guys that can play
(35:30):
ball and you know they grew up together. They look
you know, so it's like, you know, that's that's hard
to beat. And it was just tough competition, man. Every week.
It's you know, like the playoffs. If you go to
the playoffs back then, you had to outright win your
conference and anybody else ain't making it. So we're nine
(35:53):
and one and didn't didn't make it no further than
this regular season.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
And was just.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
US and TC were the two best teams in the
same district.
Speaker 8 (36:05):
So they beat us like thirteen and nine. And uh
when state that year, Uh they be handed in crappers
that year. But but I mean playing playing ball in
Northern Virginia was it was it was I could compare
(36:29):
when I got to practice against when I got to
college and practice to do some other programs.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
From high school, you could tell us like, okay, the.
Speaker 8 (36:38):
Things we practiced did and in college when I went
to UVA from from Robinson, so you know, we were
coached at a high level. We had a high level competition,
We had great coaches and and you know we were
help even though at the young age are in high school.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
You know, it's just like you gotta be held accounting
for what you're doing out there.
Speaker 8 (37:04):
So yes, sir, Yeah, it was a something that that
taught me to some discipline toughness, because you know, everything
that that you go through in a football game, you
know you you you learn it.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
Uh you can learn learn something from it in nor
Virginia football.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Mm hm, so so we uh so we we kind
of skipped around a little bit from you went from
high school to UVA and then we went back to high.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
School as far as conversation goes.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
But being you know, I told these cats, Chris when
before before you came on me, you spoke on a
couple of days ago for me, bro like I'm hearing
your story for the first time that I've known you
since nineteen nineties.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
We ain't never taught football.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
So my question has always been, how the hell you
end up at farm College? Out of all places you
could have got, I'd have held you end up at FAMA.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
Yeah, man, it's stuff.
Speaker 8 (38:11):
At UVA was kind of the grade system was was
kind of off.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
I ended up not not having sufficient grades for for
the school with the school UH requirements u n C
double A requirements.
Speaker 8 (38:26):
I was good, but by the n C double with
the college admissions, it was not high for for UVA standards.
So I'm on academic probation for a semester. Then it's like,
you know, same grade averages.
Speaker 7 (38:44):
Like we'll do.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
That's what it.
Speaker 8 (38:49):
So I said, but I just instead of sitting and
then ended up leaving the next semester. So it was
a great It was a great thing. I didn't I
didn't have to high enough GKA for for that sum
(39:09):
and UH to transfer instead of sitting down for a
whole another year to transfer to D one, I could
go D three and play immediately, which was a blessing.
Speaker 4 (39:25):
That was a learning experience in itself. I know, I know,
I know how great pharam is.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
A lot of people don't know about fam that that
hit no oasis.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
Can you hear me? Can you hear we kind of
failure a little bit? Yeah? Yeah, Now, so I was saying,
you know, I know you said right out to the
great lesson, who who was it that who recruited you
at FAM.
Speaker 8 (39:49):
Was it?
Speaker 4 (39:50):
Was it coach Norton? Was it Dave Davis? Was it Clifton?
How did again?
Speaker 2 (39:54):
You know, I understand that you know why you had
to go there, but how did you end up there?
Speaker 6 (39:59):
Like?
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Who did you know they got you into FAM? Yeah?
It was it was all. It was all coach. It
was all coach Norton. You know.
Speaker 8 (40:11):
I spoke directly to him and uh, you know that
was that was all I need to talk to. I
talked to the you know what the school was like,
what you know what my getting myself into you know
and get the ball?
Speaker 4 (40:29):
You know.
Speaker 8 (40:32):
He's like, you didn't even say, I know you're coming
from that school? And yeah, I said, yeah, I can
see that there.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (40:48):
And uh, main recruiter and Darryl Hammond, who who was
at U b A. He went to Family. He had
transferred to to U b A from Family when Family
was it last year they were junior college. That's when
Daryl Hammond came to UBA and I spoke to him about.
Speaker 4 (41:09):
About what, you know what it was like, this, this
and that and a dude, So.
Speaker 8 (41:17):
I'm gonna go with coach Norton and then I'm gonna
get on down there and run that triple option to
see what happens.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
So while while at Film, you were there for only
two years, and to this day you still have thirteen
individual records, and you have four Division three records, three
returning punts and one returning kickoffs. Can you talk to
me about that team, man, and what was special about
(41:53):
that team that you were on, not just as an individual,
but I know it was a bunch of pieces around
you down there too, Like how much talents that had
the Division three level?
Speaker 4 (42:01):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, man, yeah, yeah, yeah. Two years I
was there.
Speaker 8 (42:09):
I think we only lost two games and they were
both in the national semifinal games.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
But we we had a team cohesion like like no other.
Speaker 6 (42:19):
Man.
Speaker 4 (42:20):
It was like, you know, one guy picked another guy up.
You know, we we know each other.
Speaker 8 (42:28):
You know, it was a small campus, so you know,
we we got to know each other really really well.
Speaker 4 (42:33):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (42:33):
It's like it's like everybody's your brother, somebody's a big brother,
somebody's a little brother, somebody's the uncle whatever.
Speaker 4 (42:42):
Those teams were super talented.
Speaker 8 (42:47):
You know, you got Freddie Stoveball, you probably you know,
he was thousand yard Russia be fire got there. You
had uh Melandiller who was uh all American.
Speaker 6 (43:00):
Corners mhm uh tire water area, pressure the ball. But
you know how things happened. But but that team was
just it was full of talent and we had the
right right attitude each other.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (43:17):
The coaching staff they knew how far they could push us,
and you know, we just uh we we went on,
they guess, and you know that that's basically what we did.
I probably, yah, maybe we played in the second half
(43:41):
maybe two games the whole time I was there, where
we had receivers, had running backs. We were you know,
they ranked us up with the Vision Vision two and hm,
(44:01):
I think one one year, my senior year, I remember
in twenty they said we got a new number twenty
was Farm College. So we made it as a joke
as a number twenty team. But we was after like
seven hundred yards wrestling per game. So there was just
a little thing they put up. This gave us a
shout out. But our team was super, super talented, man,
(44:22):
and uh, you know, we had a coach that knew
exactly how how to pushes and how to use it.
Speaker 5 (44:32):
Yeah, that's crazy, that's crazy. I never knew that, Chris.
I thought you went to u v A all four years.
Speaker 4 (44:39):
I never knew that. No, I was only there. Yeah,
two years of UVA and two a farm. Wow. Yep, Wow,
that's crazy.
Speaker 8 (44:52):
So yeah, that that wash, Yeah, that was you know,
it was It's been a it was a journey to
make it that.
Speaker 4 (44:59):
You know. It's like.
Speaker 8 (45:01):
Step up to step up to step you know, like
you gotta cross all the boxes. You can't you can't
skip skip something you're going backwards. Yeah, you know, so
that's that was something that that you know, I found
out hard way. You know what I'm saying. I do
things hm hm, you know, and that gets you in
(45:24):
trouble in the long run. So yeah, you know, going
to farm taught me how look at them the other stuff,
going to business, be a good teammate, stuff like that.
So and it was a little small things.
Speaker 4 (45:41):
But I didn't know I needed that stuff. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:48):
So so I'm I'm I'm gonna take a few seconds
right here, Chris, to give you your flowers from me
because of what you just said. Because when I first
went to farm, as you know, I went there, checked
out the team from the fence and said shit, I
got back at my car, went back home, and I
told him I was too good to be there. But
I didn't meet you until after I went back, and
(46:12):
I played the season right, and I didn't know who
you were until after the season. You were coming back
from your rookie year, I believe, And so I was
at Farrem being an asshole.
Speaker 4 (46:28):
After the season.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
And it wasn't until you and Suran put your arm
around me and said, yo, man, you ain't got to
do all that.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
Man, these mothers love you here.
Speaker 2 (46:37):
And it was because of that conversation you had with
me that typed me up.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
And you ain't know me from Adam.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
And like I said, I told people on here today,
me and you ain't never talked football before. Our relationship
has always been you. You were my big brother coming
in and you ain't have to You ain't have to
put your arm around me. So I told you, man,
I love you from day one.
Speaker 4 (46:57):
You build my big homie. And you know you you
were the reason that I stayed at Pharam.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
And like I said, you opened the door for me
a lot of different ways, man, just from saying, hey, man,
relax with all that bullshit.
Speaker 4 (47:12):
So I appreciate it. And uh, famam, Pam pam, Uh
fam taught me and you a bunch of legings.
Speaker 9 (47:20):
Because yes, sir, indeed, so salute man.
Speaker 4 (47:30):
I appreciate you man, you brothers in your corn. But yes,
so now let's go. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
Let's go about your your drafts. You know how so
you played, you played at pharam man and uh, y'all,
y'all did some great things.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
How did how did the NFL come about?
Speaker 2 (47:47):
Like when did you start knowing that you were gonna
start getting some serious consideration for the league.
Speaker 8 (47:52):
How did that come about? It was probably uh late
until my senior year. We're doing the playoffs. Got a
letter from the Senior Bowl. Don't go down there to
the Panthers, then get your mail. I said, oh, senior
(48:17):
bo okay, I won't be down there with this blend.
Speaker 6 (48:23):
Oh that shouldn't. But it was at that time time
I knew that NFL coaches and you know we're doing practice.
So I'll use that as you know, another stepping stone
(48:44):
coming from Pharaoh. Even though you know I got the
D one pedigree and in the D one background. Uh,
it's still the question in their minds about what kind
of competition they play against?
Speaker 8 (48:55):
Can he hold up against these guys? Can he can
he can he do the same thing against the bigger boys,
So you know that that was my My whole mindset
was I got to make sure that that's not even
in their mind. So you know, I just just made sure,
you know, it's like have a good practice, be fundamentally sound,
and go hard. And that was you know, my main
(49:17):
thing was like I just wanted the opportunity. And you know,
once I get the opportunities, like you know, but that's
probably like, uh, that's when I knew I was on
the infl Radar Senior Bowl letter and I was getting
(49:37):
called and I got invited to the combine and so
that really solidified it then. And uh you know then man,
it was just you know, just working out, you know,
trying to be the best I can be and uh,
you know, just wait for my name to get called
in the draft.
Speaker 3 (49:57):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (49:59):
See you did you have like doing the process like
you didn't have did you have like I know because
you was going to a smaller school, but did you
have like agents and like you know, I know you
said you didn't really know until you got your notice
in the mail, but did you have like agents and
stuff like what you putting up the numbers and y'all
being ranked like that. Did you have agents talking.
Speaker 4 (50:20):
To you, you know throughout the year?
Speaker 3 (50:21):
I mean throughout the season.
Speaker 8 (50:28):
I had, I started getting agents were starting contact me,
starting to invite me up for like, uh in New York,
take me to the next game. Uh, you know, spend
the weekend up there showing me around town. So I
probably had like mayor four guys do that, and I
ended up signing one of them.
Speaker 4 (50:49):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (50:49):
The one that didn't take me all around was the
one I ended up signing it with. And uh so
but yeah, that that that too was another That was
another thing. That was another thing was uh, you know
when the agents started money, there's something something doing right
(51:14):
for sure. That's what's up.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
That's what's up, hey, Chris.
Speaker 6 (51:18):
So, so after you went to the combines and had
workouts with teams and stuff, that you was drafted in
the fourth round, was that about where you thought you
would be drafted or what you're expecting to be drafted
a little higher?
Speaker 4 (51:36):
Uh? I was.
Speaker 8 (51:37):
I was expected a little earlier, you know, on what
what the Seahawks wanted.
Speaker 4 (51:44):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (51:44):
Seahawks drafted Cortes Kennedy number three, overall, Robert Blackman's second
round safety Terry Wooden second round drafted. I was the
first offensive pick at fourth round, so it was a
heavy push for defense. And but you know I had
I had the D one h h That's that's what
(52:09):
you know, got me the high draft pick for being
for d replayer. You know, coming out of D three
be dropped in the in the fourth round in nineteen
ninety was I heard? So yeah, that was uh you
know that that was you know, just just the way
it went. And and uh, you know, I was, uh
(52:31):
top one hundred coming out that year, so I mean,
I'm top one hundred players. I'm drafted. I was an
eighty ninth pick overall, so I was I was one
hundred as far as being picked.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
So that's that's pretty damn good for me. It's you know,
coming from.
Speaker 8 (52:45):
Small school and uh, you know, over scholarships, I had
to wash our own clothes sometimes the uniform.
Speaker 4 (52:56):
No, no way, no.
Speaker 8 (52:57):
Extra globe when I'm getting no, you didn't get no nothing,
no nothing over here, no tape on your feet.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
I said, like you was at an HBCU. That's how
you had an HBCU. Back in the day.
Speaker 4 (53:18):
It was like, uh, what do you call it? You
like you thinking up like it was? It was like
it was like a prison ball field. I feel like
prison Hey what hey? Welcome move.
Speaker 2 (53:47):
Yeah that was that was our slogan every day.
Speaker 4 (53:53):
Welcome the wacky key beach. Imagine where you would love
to be right now? Dang well that's right, that's right over.
Speaker 8 (54:04):
Coach Clifton come out there talking about Rocky keep big
che I didn't know Rocky keep out here.
Speaker 4 (54:13):
I got the whole point. It's all in your mouth,
all your body. Yeah. So so Christy, you get in
so in your first year? Go ahead?
Speaker 8 (54:30):
Yeah yeah, yeah, now, and all this stuff is uh,
I had, you know, I'm having my pro date, So
I had the Seahawks were coming to work me out.
You know, they're doing all the drills, drills, you know,
doing combine over again basically. So I'm I gone home
(54:54):
for the weekend. So I'm gonna gett ready to go,
get me some new shoes. Come back ready, man. I
want and half away from car breaks down. I on
away from hour and half away from the workout from
from school.
Speaker 4 (55:12):
Yeah, coaches there waiting on me. GM then wait.
Speaker 8 (55:21):
Yea, this nigga game is showing up later on the
damn D three. He ain't even here. I'm like, man,
it's oh, we'll make it. Damn for sure. I did
all this ship right up up to that. So they
was like, you know what where you at? Just go
to whatever some so and so rest up and we'll
(55:44):
come up there and meet you. I was like, that's
that's kind of odd. But they come up about an
hour so what so, yeah, we're doing this right here,
said no, right here at the rest stop working eighty
(56:10):
one on eighty one. Eighty one truck stops working.
Speaker 4 (56:15):
From eighty one. Wow, yeah, eighty one truck stop.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
Only only here, the no captain.
Speaker 4 (56:25):
Something like that.
Speaker 6 (56:28):
That's crazy something, man, because up here looking at what
is going wrong here.
Speaker 4 (56:36):
The truck is pulling up and the kids getting out
the car. People get you.
Speaker 5 (56:44):
Okay on the small You over there on a small
of a little.
Speaker 3 (56:50):
Doing your al drill.
Speaker 8 (56:55):
That's crazy one hundred percent going on, yeah, man, And
that's a team that ended up drafting me and I
played in the golf tournament with the running back coach,
the one that Chick Harris. He was my first running
(57:18):
back coach to Seattle. Playing the golf tournament with about
three years ago, and we said, uh, the shout to
go over. He said, yeah, man, I remember the time
you worked out the guy's gonna make it.
Speaker 4 (57:36):
Man.
Speaker 8 (57:37):
I went on down to the next school, the next player,
you know, finish off your listen.
Speaker 4 (57:44):
Check list. I was like, why he's had to see
if it was for real? He said, I just want
to see running person.
Speaker 8 (57:52):
So I finally got the answers to why they came
up there and worked out on the side. He's past now,
but yeah, man' back coach.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
That was dope in itself that they gave you their
chance because they wanted to see it, and they wanted
to see it and for themselves.
Speaker 4 (58:13):
That's tough, yes, sir, Yeah, man, Yeah, well you didn't.
You didn't disappoint, that's for sure.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
Well know who a c Who's some of your o
gs when you got to Seattle. Obviously you came in
with quarts and them. That's a great draft class.
Speaker 3 (58:34):
Uh who who? Who sort of took you under their
wing when you got to Seattle.
Speaker 8 (58:39):
Yeah, to see Oh yeah, that was a ship. Jacob
Green he was a defensive end. I think he had
been up year ten by the time I got there. Okay,
but he was uh, first round out of Texas A
(58:59):
and M.
Speaker 6 (58:59):
I think stop ten all time sack leaders and you
know all the time.
Speaker 4 (59:04):
Yeah, but he you know, he took me on his wing.
Speaker 8 (59:08):
And another another dude, Edward Lly, was offensive lineman from
South Carolina state, and uh, you know we instantly clip.
You know, he's like, I got this young got this
young buck right here, watch the young buck right here.
Where you're from when you say you're from boy, yeah,
y'all got to watch. Yeah, man, come on, come on,
(59:30):
come on here with me. So you know, the older
guys man basic, you know, I just go stay at
all the older dudes and uh, you know, learn what
what the hell was going on? How to navigate through
the league, you know, you know where where the stage.
You know, they they taught me, you know, things unnecessary
(59:53):
ship I didn't have to go through, you know, like
by you know, just listening to listen to the old
don't don't.
Speaker 10 (01:00:00):
Stay out of the CD, don't go to the CD.
Stay away from yeah, stay out the CD. Don't go
to the CD. Stay awaiting the stay away from there.
Don't get off of it.
Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
No, I know.
Speaker 7 (01:00:21):
You nah man, that's dope, No dope, man.
Speaker 8 (01:00:29):
But uh, oh yeah, man, that's what's up.
Speaker 4 (01:00:36):
Yeah, So how was your go ahead? Go ahead?
Speaker 6 (01:00:41):
Hey hey Chris, when did you in your rookie year?
When did you hit your stride? When did you know that? Okay,
I'm officially an NFL baller now and the game flowed
down for you and you was you was ready to rock?
Oh man, that's probably uh because I didn't. I didn't.
(01:01:03):
I didn't become a starter until my beginning, my third year.
My first two years, I carries. My first two years,
I was mainly.
Speaker 8 (01:01:14):
I played all special teams plump return, kick return, kickoff team,
punt team, so.
Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
I was top top five and punk return kick returning
in the league.
Speaker 8 (01:01:23):
And as far as running back, I only got you know,
just minimalm minimal carries. I think I had maybe one start.
Somebody was hurt. I think I started. They gave me
the ball like seven times or something like that. I
barely remember the game my rookie year. But when I
(01:01:44):
really started, like coming to my own party that third
year in ninety two, as my first first thousand yard season,
you know, I felt I could play free without thinking
about you know, past protection, not knowing that quarterback check uh,
make seaw I don't go the wrong way. Uh, you know,
(01:02:04):
making sure I'm always covering the ball, protecting the ball,
you know, all the fundamentals, hitting the hole the right time. Uh,
you know, all that stuff was clicking at the points where, uh,
you know I couldn't get it wrong. You know, I've
done it so many times, you know, wanting to get
get going to work for the starting job. It's like
my time I hit stride. You know, I couldn't get
(01:02:24):
it wrong anymore. So you know, it was a it
was a journey of uh, you know, I learned, I
learned my chops and got my chops toughened up on
special teams, and you know that that kind of built
my toughness knowing you know, gaming definitely confidence that I
could couldn't last physically in the NFL. If I could
(01:02:47):
could play special teams in the NFL, you can pretty much.
Uh you know, you'll be all right when you get
get to game time. So but yeah, that was probably
like the time when I really felt like, you know,
I started to become you know, that's when I could, okay,
start comparing myself to let's see, who's who the top Russian.
Speaker 4 (01:03:07):
On who am I gonna go get? Now? Who on
the who in the list? You know what I'm saying.
And so I wanted that spot. So that was probably
when it started back in ninety two.
Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
And and and that's and that's and that's crazy because
in ninety two you were in the top twelve, You
were number twelve, ninety three was the number eight running back,
you know, top the Russian leader with one thousand and
seventy two yards. And then talk about that ninety four season,
man Like, as you say, if you start looking at
(01:03:40):
the listener, you start going after cats, like, talk about
that ninety three ninety four season when you started to
hit your groove and and you know, start to take
down some of the names that was ahead of you.
Speaker 4 (01:03:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:03:57):
Man, I probably was strongs, fastest and uh uh you
know just ever as bad probably from ninety three nine.
Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
Get through that three.
Speaker 8 (01:04:09):
Times, just a matter of and you know, breaking the
goals that I said, And you know, competing against uh
some of the people that I had to compete against
Wash I had to play against uh Junior, say, we
were in the same division, So I played against him
(01:04:30):
twice a year for eight years. He's uh Derrick Thomas
played against him twice a year for eight years and can't.
Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
City Mons Hall of Fame. Mhm got you, you know
(01:05:02):
what I'm saying. So yeah, mhm we lose. I think
we lose them. You know what I mean? You still
that there you go? There you go. Yeah, you froze up.
(01:05:27):
You you froze up. We missed everything you said, Oh man,
what lost quest? You heard? The last part we heard
was der Derry Thomas.
Speaker 8 (01:05:42):
Oh okay, you're going through the uh the defender of
the Hall of Famers on defense that I played against
UH junior say, Uh, Steve Atwater you know all those
guys know in the same division, and UH played them
(01:06:02):
twice a year.
Speaker 4 (01:06:03):
Hall of Fame. Tough road.
Speaker 8 (01:06:05):
My game had had to be tight. I couldn't, you know,
couldn't at the yard was out there to get. I
had to get it because if you didn't get.
Speaker 6 (01:06:15):
It, they gonna, you know, deal with you know somebody
that you know that's a Hall of Fame level that
that you're going again.
Speaker 4 (01:06:22):
So you know, it was no sleepid night before the games.
But you know, once the game started, everything was all good.
Speaker 5 (01:06:34):
See you also had you had a crazy your team
was was loaded and stacked man like talk about some
of the greats that was on your team and some
of the players that you played with, and also some
of the I guess you we would say some of
the misunderstood players like Bob's worth or you know, Steve Larger.
Speaker 8 (01:06:57):
That would be balanced Coboard. Oh we're going we're going
straight cowboys now then.
Speaker 4 (01:07:11):
Some of the.
Speaker 8 (01:07:18):
Uh see how of course man, yeah, yeah, I mean
you catch like rufus Porter.
Speaker 4 (01:07:28):
I mean, just like if you can imagine just the
person with the most energy and just um hm.
Speaker 8 (01:07:37):
All game came along. He's joking all during the meetings.
We're supposed to be quiet. So I mean, you know
how to how that locker room stuff is, man, master joker,
you have your car somewhere else every time you come
out the land locker room uh him be mentioned Sometimes
(01:07:58):
you don't know where you're you know, take your shoulders.
Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
Pass and how them. So I'm like, man, we gotta
get to the bad practice. He'll make it. He'll make it.
Speaker 8 (01:08:10):
But and Dallas was probably like I mean it was
I mean, Dallas was was uh something something in the
whole beast in himself. With you know, the characters we had,
Man yeah, my m just like just like any person.
You know what I'm saying, He just I want you
to talk. Just might be talking. You know, real good brother.
(01:08:32):
Uh Dion's real good, real good himself and making his money.
But he you know, he sends his hand out when
when it's in need, and you know he'll talk to you.
You know, he want want the brothers to do well.
And uh so you know you always remember remember dudes.
Speaker 4 (01:08:51):
Like that man, uh larry yall.
Speaker 8 (01:08:57):
You know in your heads like that. But other than that,
I wasn't talking. I didn't nobody let's get kind to
beat you up.
Speaker 4 (01:09:12):
Mhm h. You know Troy Aikman, you know what I'm saying.
It was just a perfect guys man. Troy was cool.
Troy Aikman was was head of a leader.
Speaker 8 (01:09:28):
You know, I've seen him walk through on Monday, but
he right there walked through practice everything I said.
Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
Don't see how you're doing.
Speaker 8 (01:09:35):
It, man, And uh so, you know it's just just
uh you know, you get to get to meet a
lot of a lot of good people. You get to
you know, experience a lot of things that you know,
people normally don't experience. And uh, you know, I'm just
grateful for it, for the time I had in the
in the league. You know what I'm saying. I did
the same way all over again from the beginning, you
(01:09:58):
know what I mean. So it was you know, the
people I met, the people that supported me, you know,
just all people that in my life now, you know
what I'm saying, Just like, uh, you know, I'm blessed
have gone.
Speaker 4 (01:10:10):
Through the whole thing, the whole experience. That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
So talk about man, how did you when you when
you broke the all time lead in Russian records for Seattle?
Speaker 4 (01:10:28):
Man?
Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
Talk about that? How did how did that come about?
Because I was watching that as an unfolded Can you
can you explain?
Speaker 4 (01:10:36):
Man?
Speaker 8 (01:10:36):
I was I was never going to get that ball. Man,
Come on, man, we run out of time. Man, I
know y'all gonna cut me after this year. So making
too much money?
Speaker 4 (01:10:48):
Is that moment? Cut line? So I think we're playing
forty nine ers?
Speaker 6 (01:10:55):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:10:58):
Playing the forty nine ers.
Speaker 8 (01:11:01):
I remember, I think it was the last time I
touched the ball and they gave me a h outside
zone left.
Speaker 6 (01:11:09):
I needed left ten yards and I got exactly eleven
yards and broke the record by one yard.
Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
Wow. And so I had to broke just yep one
yard on my last last play. But they didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:11:25):
They didn't they So so the crazy thing was when
y'all were playing Sant fran y'all, they had the ball
and they were running the ball out the time out
and then't then.
Speaker 4 (01:11:35):
The quarterback through an interception or something.
Speaker 7 (01:11:38):
And you.
Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
Because you needed like twenty some yards at that point
right when you went out, when they had the ball
back and they were trying to run out the clock,
and then for some reason.
Speaker 4 (01:11:48):
Threw a man. Yeah, something happened, they got the ball back.
I forgot what happened, but I remember, I remember you
were standing on the sideline. I don't remember. Put you
to out what happened? That game work?
Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
So they so they so San Francisco was driving out
the clock. They were just running out the clock, and
some reason they threw an interception. Because you need it,
you needed like twenty twenty two because we was watching
the game. You need like twenty some yards and I
think you was at like seventy some yards at that point.
Speaker 4 (01:12:24):
You need like ninety nine or.
Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
Something crazy, And for some reason they threw the ball
and it was an interception and y'all got the ball back.
Speaker 4 (01:12:33):
But the crazy part was you wasn't out there on
the first play. It's like, what did we do? You're
not gonna get the ball? Did I think did someone
tell your coach?
Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Did someone remind your coach that, hey man, Chris need
to we need to get crystal ball?
Speaker 4 (01:12:49):
Yeah? Yeah, you let him run it out with it.
Speaker 6 (01:12:56):
I ran in, said, I'm going anywhere, I'm gone. I
need at least I'm trying. Don't don't send me home without.
Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
That was that was crazy because you look, oh and
and Cole he ran the ball. The game went off,
the game was over.
Speaker 4 (01:13:19):
It was like, what happened? What happened? But happened. Nobody celebrated.
Game was over with.
Speaker 2 (01:13:27):
I think y'all have war Moon as your quarterback, didn't
you one Moon was your quarterback at that year?
Speaker 4 (01:13:32):
Wasn't he moons quarterback?
Speaker 1 (01:13:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:13:34):
Sure that was crazy. Moon was the last player of
the game. TV went off.
Speaker 3 (01:13:40):
What year was that due?
Speaker 4 (01:13:41):
What was that year? Ninety one? Yeah, your last year? Yeah,
that might have been. That might have been.
Speaker 5 (01:13:57):
That probably was Sean's rookie year. That probably was Sprange
rookie year because he got he got drifted in ninety seven.
Speaker 4 (01:14:07):
Yeah, yeah, I remember he played. Yep, yeah, that was
that was the craziest thing ever.
Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
Man, a CW. How do you like playing in the Kingdome?
Speaker 4 (01:14:24):
Oh? Man, that is incredible loud.
Speaker 8 (01:14:29):
I mean we I think we only won like nine
games with most games we won in the season when
I was there, but I mean every year we was
nine to seven or eight and eight every year.
Speaker 4 (01:14:41):
You can stamp that down. Yeah, that Kingdome was something, man.
It was.
Speaker 8 (01:14:48):
It was loud, loud, loud energy. You know, people right
there on you. I mean it's not you don't you
don't have to go farther for the crowd, man. And
it was helpful the other team had we had, you know,
(01:15:09):
and they they was on their turf, man, So they
get their crowd kick going in their past rushing, they
come around the corner. Man, like one and a half seconds,
it's over.
Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
So I mean it was just a.
Speaker 8 (01:15:22):
Great, great atmosphere man. And and uh, you know they
get the drinking and smoking up in there. Man, you know,
it's it's it's nothing.
Speaker 6 (01:15:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:15:33):
In the parking lot. The parking lot is even worse.
Speaker 8 (01:15:36):
You know, when you come out to the parking lot,
it's it's uh, they just spill over from the stadium.
Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
And y'all in y'all right downtown too, man, crazy.
Speaker 8 (01:15:51):
Right downtown man, you lead the king Don king Don.
H it's a buck called uh Celebrities, and the and
the underground spot called the Underground and the spot cost
and then we went we would go eat.
Speaker 4 (01:16:10):
At uh FX mccrary's.
Speaker 8 (01:16:12):
They had all these different beers and drinks and you know,
big steak houses.
Speaker 4 (01:16:19):
So see after this crab and all that kind of
kind of health and food. M hm crazy crazy, you know,
that's crazy, that's crazy. Mm hmm.
Speaker 6 (01:16:41):
Chris, Can you compare and contrast the organizations that you
played for in terms of how they treated the players
of Seattle, Dallas and and and Philly.
Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
Mm hmm. That's yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:17:01):
But we had uh listen, they were all different, man,
they had they all had their different styles.
Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
You know, the uh the Seattle was was was probably
I don't know it was. It was different but kind
of similar. You know. They didn't treat us bad. You
know on road trips we had to.
Speaker 8 (01:17:22):
Get our own food sometimes in Seattle, but uh, that
was the only thing we complained about. We always stayed
at nice hotels. You know, let's have the police, esports
and uh you know stuff like that. Uh, but Seattle
ownership didn't have as many nice parties as Dallas.
Speaker 4 (01:17:44):
Cawpitalism very party.
Speaker 8 (01:17:50):
Yeah we have any any holiday season, Halloween party, you know, Thanksgiving,
this party, whatever. You have it right at the at
the stadium, right right in the end zone stadium and
like the field, but all around and uh we have
(01:18:15):
been the end zone in some end zone ballroom I
didn't even know existed in in in the and man
he had like you know, all your the wives and girlfriends,
all they all getting going home with eight nine gift
bags and all kinds of stuff.
Speaker 7 (01:18:30):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:18:31):
So uh you know the aspect Jerry was he was.
Speaker 6 (01:18:36):
Playing around sponsorships and his parties and you know, oh
meet this guy. You know you got to meet a
lot of people, people that you could, you know, probably
use for business. So then in Seattle, but.
Speaker 8 (01:19:02):
You know, Dallas, I mean Seattle seems to be more
Uh you know, what can I say athlete friendly as
far as post career business. Uh, you know it's it's
you know a lot of big companies want to do
do business with players. So now, but you know, since
(01:19:24):
all that the Tech and uh, you know Bill Gates
and all is out there, so that's you know, that's
that's a great opportunities for the guys out there when
they're done. And as far as Philly, I was only
a Philly for like five or six.
Speaker 4 (01:19:42):
Games, so you know, we stayed at nice hotels. You know.
Speaker 8 (01:19:49):
The facility was a piece of trash. So it was
an old Vest stadium, the old He's had meetings and man,
we would had the practice on anything. There was no
practice field, so Andy Reid ran. His practice is totally
(01:20:12):
different than than anybody be seen running. When you get
if you're starting, you run the whole You ain't coming up.
So it's usually like you know, you're run three or four,
then somebody else, you get your four back, then you
get somebody else get Now you got to run the
(01:20:34):
whole thing, seven or seven.
Speaker 4 (01:20:36):
For teams inside you God, thanks.
Speaker 8 (01:20:46):
Use in shape though, because I mean that's how he
got us to like he's like, you're gonna you're gonna
get your running there.
Speaker 4 (01:20:54):
Yeah it will be.
Speaker 8 (01:20:57):
But uh uh, you know they had a nice breakfast
for us. You know they have they had good food.
They were food.
Speaker 4 (01:21:06):
Every day. Yeah, practice was garbage garbage. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
but they.
Speaker 8 (01:21:15):
The way, you know, the way difference, difference in the
weight programs everything. They probably the worst worst weight programs
that ever been in uh but Dallas and uh AFFHILLI.
Speaker 4 (01:21:29):
They you know, they.
Speaker 8 (01:21:32):
Playing the NFC East, man, they live that you're playing
in different So you know, when I played the seeah,
it was more about they were trying to have more
speed and you know, more agility and all that kind
of stuff. But yeah, you know, you're playing on the East,
the NFC East, it was it was different. Yeah, yeah,
(01:21:54):
star ball everything.
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
Why number forty two? About forty two?
Speaker 5 (01:22:01):
Not a lot of people, I'm being honest with you, see, dum,
not a lot of people can make forty two look
good like I don't.
Speaker 4 (01:22:06):
Know wh I know, man, that's a tough one they had.
I don't know how I got forty two I had.
I wore.
Speaker 6 (01:22:19):
I wore twenty two in college and forty four in
high school. So I guess they took one of each
four and the two when I got the Crouse. But
I mean, that's that's the only thing I can say,
because I had twenty two in college and forty four
(01:22:39):
in high school, so that that's it. I think I
would have rather had twenty one or something else, you know,
but shit, I gotta make it work.
Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
I was like, they gave me a both actual face masks.
Speaker 3 (01:22:52):
Got no that joint that j was tough.
Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
I remember you could playing. But then face mask they
gave me. Yeah big his face man this big wait? Yeah,
you want to catch me?
Speaker 4 (01:23:21):
Hey, So Chris, did you did you retire as a
as a as a Sea Hawk? You retired as a Seahawks?
You know what? I didn't retire? Is there anything? Yeah,
like a h a whole retirement thing.
Speaker 6 (01:23:43):
Yet I need to do that with Seattle, okay, because
I know, I know, I just did a female to
the NFL. But I was.
Speaker 8 (01:23:53):
Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, and you know you gotta female
the NFL and everything and start whatever they do. But
I didn't retire officially with any any team yet, Okay,
but I will. I will with Seattle. I'm that's gonna
be my I'm gonna make sure I get But I
(01:24:13):
just you know, I just got got into that top
fifty all time team, so you know what I mean,
I gotta go ahead and selling that up with them
as far as.
Speaker 4 (01:24:22):
Definitive.
Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
Now, how you how you just gonna glaze that over
talk about how you how is it feeled to be
named one of Seattle's fifty top rated plass Ever, you
can't just gloss that all, like, yeah, that just happened,
and it just happened a few weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (01:24:43):
Dropped it on. No man, it was.
Speaker 8 (01:24:47):
I mean, it's honors. It's a great honor, and you know,
to be recognized with the rest of those guys, you know,
with some the act all the All Pros, super Bowl champions,
you know, league leaders, uh you know, just uh you
(01:25:10):
name it man from from uh you know, playing longevity,
Hall of Famers, you know, to be on the same
team with those guys, now, I feel like that that's
that's uh you might as well being the Ring of Honor,
you know what I mean, that's it's the only honor
high that you can get from the named in the water.
(01:25:31):
But you know, I feel like they got expended the
more players, you know what I'm saying. It was a great,
great event. You know, I took my mom out, got
to go back for the first time since uh since
since I left them out there. I have my daughters
out there, and uh so it was uh, you know,
(01:25:51):
it was. It was they treated us well from you know,
from Friday through Monday. You know, the welcome dinner was
you you know, just or John Snyder, the GM and
I think it's GM president. You know, he gave a
nice speech about you know, fifty players, had a little
(01:26:13):
story for everybody, you know, the time to do research
about you know, each and every player, even though some
guys didn't play in his era or play when he
was there, he still had you know, it was it
was a great honor and you know, got to mingle
with with the new team.
Speaker 4 (01:26:31):
I got to meet the new coach, Mike McDonald.
Speaker 8 (01:26:34):
H you know, so it was it was a good
They definitely back to to what's going on right now.
And uh, you know that's that's that's pretty good. You
know it's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (01:26:50):
That's dope. A C. Doug Man.
Speaker 7 (01:26:53):
I just want to tell you brother again. Uh h,
I appreciate you, man. I appreciate you, brother. Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:27:04):
I gotta get ready to.
Speaker 5 (01:27:07):
Yeah, I gotta get ready to get out of here.
I gotta I gotta get ready to get on the plane.
I'm actually coming back home. I know Coach Milton talked
to you a little bit about it.
Speaker 4 (01:27:17):
Getting ready.
Speaker 3 (01:27:18):
Yeah, so I'm getting ready to get on it.
Speaker 5 (01:27:19):
I gotta get ready to move around a little bit
because I got a red eye to catch and I'll
be back in actually north I'm flying in at Doullas,
Northern Virginia or whatever. So uh yeah, hopefully you can,
you know, stop by the barber shop. I know Coach
Milton talked to you a little bit about it, and
we can chop it up a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
Man, and and go from there.
Speaker 4 (01:27:38):
And brother, oh for sure, Man, just hitting me up.
We're back in town and we can set it up.
Speaker 3 (01:27:46):
I'm on my I'm telling you now, I'm on my
way back. Now, I'm getting right now, I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:27:53):
On my way. So I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:27:59):
All right.
Speaker 4 (01:27:59):
So coach got to know.
Speaker 3 (01:28:03):
So so so hopefully I see you tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:28:07):
Yea off that.
Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
Hey so so Chris talking about so talking about uh
so now we we you haven't officially retired, you're you're
out of the league now talk about.
Speaker 4 (01:28:34):
Again.
Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
I don't know if any of the listeners and viewers
noticed talk about how I haven't. I mean, you got
to have kids. Men that have done some great things.
Talk about your kids and some of the things that
they've accomplished, you know since since you've been in and
out of the league. Now, because your kids got some
great stories man that I want you to share with
the viewers for what's that enough with what the my kids? Yeah,
(01:29:01):
talk about talking about having a little junior playing and.
Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
Your daughter playing volleyball, like your kids were doing some
big things.
Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
So oh yeah, yeah your great dad, man, so talk
let the viewers know about how it is and how
being a father of great athletes as well.
Speaker 8 (01:29:16):
Yeah, man, it's you know, with my son, it's the third.
He was a University of Texas running back. You know,
he played there for three years as a freshman, record
for yards in the game to two hundred and seventy
six as a freshman, and.
Speaker 4 (01:29:39):
Ended up after there.
Speaker 8 (01:29:41):
He was there for three years at Texas and then
ended up going to play with the Raiders for two years.
He was on the Hindry reserve for one year and
then came back to another year. But he made two years.
Speaker 6 (01:29:56):
But he's uh, you know, he's one of the top
five high school Texas running backs all the time, you know,
so you know, including up there with Adrian Peterson, uh,
Errol Campbell. He's had uh you know, more yards and
in certain single game yards yards than those guys too.
So yes, has some some Texas records that I didn't
(01:30:18):
I didn't know he had. Yeah, I didn't know he
was doing ithing like that. But he's uh, unfortunately, you know,
he got got a knee injury and you know, never
never you know, bounced back to full strength like he
wanted to. You know, that probably kind of you know,
kind of kept him from from moving further along in
(01:30:41):
the league than he did. And uh, but yeah, he's
always always an athlete and he played uh basketball and
football and uh, you know, he just was he was
just he was a beast of football.
Speaker 8 (01:30:55):
Man. I would like to see what he could have
done if he stayed helped me because him and I
think him and Derek Henry were like, uh, you know
the big boys in college when they were going back
and forth, uh you know, seeing each week battling, you know,
with yardage and and uh you know, just.
Speaker 4 (01:31:13):
Quiet competition between you know, between some schools you know
across the way.
Speaker 6 (01:31:17):
So uh you know that that was that was a
treat to watch, to watch him play during his college
career and uh, you know all that he achieved and
to be able to make it, uh for two years
of openand you know that's you know, that's the hell
of an achievement.
Speaker 4 (01:31:31):
Man.
Speaker 6 (01:31:31):
So you know he he made it, you know, as
far as you can make it. And uh, you know
the game is is not nice for people, you know
what I mean when you come to me quick, you know.
Speaker 8 (01:31:45):
Yeah, and uh.
Speaker 4 (01:31:48):
Is he the one that the coach football at Jefferson
High School? Uh?
Speaker 8 (01:31:54):
Huh Okay, Now, now I coached Jefferson way way back
in the day, back like maybe a yeah with coach
Parker coach okay, okay, yeah was up there. Then I
did one year with coach Parker Edison. Yeah and uh
but yeah, and my daughter also she was a high
(01:32:16):
school basketball player and she ended up uh she didn't
go to college to play. But they won uh state
championship undefeated and uh in six am out in Washington State.
And uh, you know, so they they were always just
into sports in soccer, uh soccer back and basketball mainly
(01:32:42):
and trapping the soccer, basketball and track and uh you know,
both my daughters played basketball. They both played on the
same same basketball team, won state championship together. They went
to school together to when to college at Washington State.
They both went to Washington they together graduate from there.
Now yeah, now they both married one one's living.
Speaker 4 (01:33:06):
In uh.
Speaker 8 (01:33:08):
Yeah, so they are married up now and uh you know,
so you know, they're living their lives and and uh
you know, being adults now.
Speaker 4 (01:33:17):
Yeah. So so what's so what's new with Chris now? Man?
Speaker 2 (01:33:24):
What is so now that Chris then kind of settled
in and you know officially stepped away, Like, what what's
going on with with with Chris now that you know
you want the views to know about it?
Speaker 4 (01:33:35):
What you know, what do you what new ventures are
you looking into now in the next phase? Yeah, next phase.
That's a good question. You know.
Speaker 6 (01:33:44):
I uh, I have some property that I have and
I've completely retired first well you know, congratulations, yeah, thank you,
thank you.
Speaker 8 (01:34:02):
Yeah, and uh so you know, I'm you know, just
just concentrating on on building the legacy and leaving uh
leaving the legacy for for the next generation. And you know,
I want to start something that uh can enriching myself,
uh you know, person mentally hurt all that kind of
(01:34:25):
stuff and help help the next generation. So you know,
I'm gonna develop develop the land. I'm want to put
some uh you know football fields out there and just
start with that. And you know, just have a sports center,
sports recreation. Uh you know you can come out, uh
(01:34:47):
do your sports, you can train. I want to host
football camps. I want to host uh you know, basketball tournaments.
I want to you know, just have a place where
kids can come and train, learn sports. Uh, use your
sports to gain other things in life that are positive.
You know, there's gonna be uh you know, like mentor programs,
(01:35:09):
uh stuff like that. So you know, I'm just it's
a lot I'm saying right now, but a lot that
goes into it. But you know, I'm definitely want to
start out with uh you know, basic football training and
uh mentorship.
Speaker 4 (01:35:23):
It's probably the right I'm going right now. That's dope.
That's dope. That's that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:35:30):
Yeah, and we got and we got some uh we
got some you know, no cap sports, so family members
that we can definitely connect you with to help you,
you know along that day. We got Myron Flowers, we
got Antoine. But they're that's all doing big things that
can lend the hand and you know kind of bringing
it to you know, bringing it to fruition. I know
you're done thought it through. But you know those guys,
(01:35:51):
I know, Maron just opened up his spot, Antoine just
opened up his uh his uh his organization I think
last week or a couple of weeks ago. So you know,
just to give you some ideas or help you along
the way to kind of bring the fruition.
Speaker 4 (01:36:08):
Let us know, we make that connection for you.
Speaker 8 (01:36:11):
Man. Yeah, definitely definitely gonna be reaching out for sure.
Yeah yeah, man, Yeah yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:36:21):
Well, Chris, we we definitely appreciate you pulling up on
the show with us, but we can't let you get
out of here without some rapid fire questions.
Speaker 4 (01:36:31):

Speaker 8 (01:47:47):
Okay, Eric Dickerson by saying this, uh, I gotta put
agent a p in there. Adrian Peterson. I like the
(01:48:09):
way he ran, man, He just you know, until his
last carry, he was running the ball like he was
a Brookie.
Speaker 4 (01:48:15):
He never is.
Speaker 8 (01:48:16):
Running style never changed. Yeah, knee surgeries didn't matter, and

M m.
Speaker 6 (01:48:30):
Oh tough, tough. I mean, I mean it's certain styles,

Yes crazy, Yeah, that's that's a that's something you know.
Speaker 4 (01:51:24):

Speaker 8 (01:51:27):
It wasn't something that was, you know, trying to go
out there and get but you know, I was just
trying to play put together as many years as I
could stack as many years as I could, that was it,
and perform at the highest levels I could as long
as I could. When I couldn't do it no more
or didn't want to do it anymore, or you know,
whatever the circumstances, then say, hey, I got all I
