My SNL Story is back and we’re talking with Gary Kroeger. Recruited by the show in the fall of 1982, just weeks prior to the start of Season 8, Gary was a cast member on SNL for three seasons, helping close out the Dick Ebersol era.

Gary offers an insider's perspective on one of the most underappreciated and less talked about eras in the show’s history, sharing stories about how Saturday Night Live came to him, being asked to “light a fire” under Eddie Murphy, and what it was like competing for airtime with the likes of Martin Short, Billy Crystal, and Christopher Guest. In addition, we discuss many of his memorable sketches & characters, how he ingratiated himself with the “all stars” of S10, his favorite (and perhaps not-so-favorite) hosts, and the lasting lessons he's carried with him from his time on the show.

And yes...we also talk about a certain “viral” moment that has sparked a lot of discussion from the SNL50 celebration.

Join me on this podcast as I navigate the murky waters of human behavior, current events, and personal anecdotes through in-depth interviews with incredible people—all served with a generous helping of sarcasm and satire. After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
