(00:51):
Ready?
Let's go! Hey guys.
Welcome back.
I am so excited to talk with youguys about something that has
just been kind of simmering onmy heart.
Simmering makes it sound like amad.
I'm not mad at all, but it'sjust been like, I don't know,
like slowly rusting.
And growing.

(01:11):
So summary, maybe up to a boil.
But I'm not, not like Oh, gosh,I feel like that's not a good
analogy.
It's growing like a field ofwild flowers.
How about that?
On my heart to share with youguys.
And I'm really excited because Ithink it's going to touch on a
different point in a differentperspective than what maybe some
of y'all thought about.
And as always, it applies tomore than gut health.

(01:34):
I always say we're humans, we'rebody minds and spirits.
We are systems of systemseverything's interconnected.
So.
Anything that I can teach youguys that yes.
Helps your gut health andoverall health, but also helps
you just be a happier, morefree, peaceful, joyful person.
Is great.
So it's this concept of lastingrelief.

(01:54):
Now I talk a lot about lastingrelief.
From got some DMS and I actuallyjust launched a brand new mini
course on my website.
So make sure you guys go checkthat out.
I will drop the link here in theshow notes on this episode.
Go check that out all about likegiving, finding lasting relief

(02:18):
from chronic chronic digestivesymptoms.
And I know that that's what someof you guys want just so badly,
you know, a lot of you guys havetried so many different things
you've been to.
GI doc after GI doc, you'vetried alternative therapies,
integrative therapies,elimination, diets, supplements,
saying, forget it.
And just eating, you know, cheeseburgers all day.

(02:40):
And it just is reallyfrustrating wherever you feel
like you're doing all the thingsand not seeing any fruit from
any of your efforts.
And so I get it.
And maybe you are a person whohas seen results on something
and you felt better, but then itplateaued and you stopped
feeling better and maybe you gotworse again.

(03:02):
And then what you had tried inthe past.
No longer worked.
That is really frustrating.
Right?
And then you don't know where togo from there.
And I just wanted to take intowhy this might be happening to
you.
And what to do about it.
So I talked to you guys all day, every day, over on Instagram.

(03:24):
If you're not on my Instagram, make sure you go find me over
there.
Again, I'll meet to my Instagramhandle in the show notes.
You definitely want to be overthere.
Come say hi.
But we talk about it there.
I talk to people about thisevery day.
Lasting relief.
What does that really mean?
I'm always talking to somebodyto stay and for her lasting
relief means.

(03:45):
No longer fearing food, becauseshe's gotten to a place where
she has been told by doctors tofollow so many different
elimination diets.
That seemed to work in thenetwork and it's totally
unpredictable as to when hersymptoms common, when they go.
She's starting to kind of beafraid of food, right?
She's like taking a bite andit's like, eh, I don't know if

(04:06):
this is gonna make me feelworse.
It's actually easier to justavoid food at this point.
She's gotten to the place where.
She really, isn't going torestaurants with her family very
much because they feel badbecause they all go and she
doesn't want to eat.
Because she's scared of whatmight happen.
And her family doesn't want togo to a restaurant and sit there

(04:28):
and eat while they watch her.
Watching them eat right.
She's missing their sportingevents because she's afraid of
her symptoms, flaring and therenot being a bathroom nearby.
She wants to take them abroad togo learn more about her culture
and can't because she's afraidthat she won't be able to enjoy
herself while she's there.
And this is her wife, you know, and it's really frustrating, but

(04:51):
she was so inspiring having thisconversation because I asked her
this question, I said, So, youknow, you've been dealing with
this for a few years now.
You've tried all of thesedifferent things.
What would it look like, youknow, in a year or five years
from now, if you don't get thishandled, if you're not able to
make progress on this.
And she looked at me and shethought about it for a minute.

(05:12):
And she was like, well, honestly, I believe it will get
better.
I have faith that it will getbetter.
And I'm going to keep showing upfor myself.
I'm going to keep seekinganswers.
I mean, I keep trying, I'm notgoing to just give up.
You know, and rest with this.
And it will get better.
And I love that so much.
I love her persistence and hertenacity.

(05:35):
And, you know, her openness totry different things, you know
to try a different approach thatmaybe she hadn't tried before to
get different results.
And so I just want to share thatto inspire you guys and help you
feel.
Maybe not as alone, if you'refeeling a little bit alone in
this, because I know gut issuescan be very isolating.
And I'm going to share somethingthat, you know, it may be for

(05:57):
you.
It may not be for you, but itjust came to me and I'm going to
say it.
Anytime I think about isolation, anytime I think about people
being pulled apart or not comingtogether in something.
I think about why that mighthappen.
And who benefits from thathappening?
And I talk a little bit about myChristian faith here.

(06:20):
But it, you guys may or may nothave the same beliefs as me, but
for those of you who areChristians, I just really
encourage you to think through.
If you are being isolated fromloved ones from family and
friends and coworkers, becauseof these gut health situations.
And your symptoms who'sbenefiting from that.

(06:41):
It's Satan y'all.
He wants to pull us apart fromeach other and isolate each
other from each other.
God wants to bring peopletogether in love and support and
community.
And so I just want to reallyencourage you.
Don't let your symptoms don'tlet your gut issues or health
issues.
Cause you to become isolatedfrom other people, reach out for

(07:02):
help.
If.
Other people don't know whatyou're dealing with.
If you feel like you're aloneand you're carrying this burden
for yourself.
That was not really thedirection I had planned on going
in this, but I just, all of asudden had this overwhelming
sense of needing to share that.
And so I did.
So if that was meant for youplease let me know.
I'd love to hear if that washelpful for you.

(07:25):
So we're going to keep goinginto kind of what I had planned.
No.
I know.
But I hope that that was helpfuland inspiring for you guys.
Don't become isolated, you know, don't, don't do that.
That's not what God wants.
And we're, you know, it's hardfor women to ask for help.
It's hard for us to, you know, the good old American, you know,
self-made person.

(07:47):
That's not wholly y'all.
So reach out for some help.
And if you're needing someactual, like professional help
to help walk through this, because you don't know what else
to do, go back and listen to mylast.
An episode of this because I gothrough three critical things
you need to think throughwhenever you work working
through hiring somebody to helpyou with chronic digestive

(08:09):
issues.
Super, super helpfulinformation.
So just one episode before thisone, go back and listen to that.
So going back to this concept oflasting Roby from what does that
even mean?
You know, for a lot of people.
I see going back to that idea ofyou try something, it works for
a little bit, it stops workingand then you feel like you're

(08:30):
back at square one and you haveto start completely over.
To me, lasting relief issomething where your symptoms
become gradually less and lessover time.
And you feel more and more.
At the helm of your body, if youwill, and knowing what your body
really needs for support.
And if you do have a symptomflare, you know what you need to

(08:51):
do, right?
Like, you know, kind of whatyou've allowed to come out of
balance in your life.
Maybe it's stress.
Maybe you haven't beenprioritizing sleep.
Maybe you've been rushingthrough your meals and not
chewing.
Well you know, maybe, you know,A lot of emotional stress, like
I mentioned, where you're justreally letting that get the best
of you.
You understand what has come outof balance?

(09:11):
And you also understand what youcan do in the short term to get
some symptom relief right away.
So that you're not just waitingfor things to resolve or
anything like that on their own,but you can get on top of those
symptoms and it's almost withoutthoughts.
And I know that sounds reallycrazy right now because you're
probably thinking about yoursymptoms a lot.
But I hear that a lot frompeople where they're like, This

(09:35):
felt like stressful andoverwhelming whenever I like
going through it on my own.
But now that I have a plan andI'm really clear on what my body
responds to and what it doesn'trespond to, you.
It's so easy to just take careof myself.
I know, like I have theguidebook now.
But really to get there, itdoesn't just happen overnight.
Y'all you have to have a strongfoundation on caring for

(09:59):
yourself in health and lifestyleand mental wellness.
You have to have a strongfoundation.
And you have to lay those stonesdown in that foundation, brick
by brick stone by stone, one ata time.
And it takes true work andeffort to get there.
And some of some people areaware of that and are willing to
put in that work and effort.

(10:20):
Some people really just arelooking for the easy button
still.
And if that's you I really wouldencourage you to dig a little
bit deeper and give it somethought around your expectations
and what you're really hopingwill happen and wanting to
happen.
And if it's really realistic andserving you in the best way.
Because truly all, anythingworth having.

(10:41):
Whether it's your health orfinancial success or you know,
career success or, you know, awonderful family.
Any of those like pie in the skyend results that are really
worthy goals.
They are worth paying forsacrificing, for and working
for.
Okay.
If it is a truly worthy goal, itis worth the effort put into

(11:06):
attain it.
And it's through that process ofsacrifice and working and all of
that.
That you become the person who'sable to maintain that goal.
Otherwise, you're never going tohave lasting relief.
It's just like, if somebody winsthe lottery, right.
You hear all the time, thesestories of somebody one, you

(11:29):
know, Tens of millions ofdollars in the lottery.
I don't know how much peoplewin, but a lot of money.
Right.
And within a, you know, a coupleof years they're completely
broke again.
Well, it's because they got thiswindfall of money and they
didn't have the investmentstrategies, the money
management, the budgetingmuscles.
Any of that to really be able totake care of that money and grow

(11:56):
it and invest it and give it,and all of those things that
need to be done.
They didn't know how to do thatbecause they didn't have to work
for the money.
It was just handed to them.
Same thing with like a, you knowoh gosh, what am I trying to
say?
Inheriting?
Sorry.
I'm trying to say two differentwords at the same time.
Same thing, same thing withinheriting money.
You hear.
You know about how mom or dad orgrandpa or grandma, you know,

(12:19):
built this huge empire, thisbusiness, all of a sudden, and
then within a couple ofgenerations everything's gone.
And I think that that can happenfor a couple of reasons.
I think people can get reallycomfortable and rest on their
laurels and not change and growand adapt, which is what we
always have to do.
If we want to stay successful.
Just look at blockbuster, right?
By also, you know, those peoplewho inherited that money.

(12:42):
If they weren't really taught.
You know, to work hard for itand how to manage it and all of
that.
They're really not set up to beable to maintain it.
The same thing.
It comes with your health.
Y'all.
If somebody say a doctor, say aGI doctor, Gives you a
prescription and instead ofmaking things worse, Or giving

(13:04):
you bad side effects.
It truly gets rid of yoursymptoms, like miracle
medication, right?
The problem with that is, is ifthat is all you're doing is
taking this miracle medication.
We're following a miracleelimination diet that seems to
fix all of your problems.
Your problems are going to comeback.

(13:25):
And they're going to be worse, and then it's going to require
even more effort to truly setthings right.
Because things have really justbeen building and building and
building while the medication orelimination diet kind of quieted
the symptoms for you withoutfixing the actual problem.
And so you're not going to getlasting relief and that feels

(13:46):
really frustrating because youdon't realize that's happening.
In the moment you're thinking.
That your problems are gone, butreally your symptoms are just
being quieted.
And so by really working anddoing the digging and their
research to really understandwhat it is that.
Makes your body thrive and dowell.

(14:07):
And what really just tears youdown.
Is so worth it, it's buildingthat strong foundation.
Y'all I had to do it with my guthealth.
Right.
Some of you guys know my guthealth story, if you don't go
sign up for that free trainingthat I mentioned at the
beginning of this episode, because I do share a lot more
about it.
In that free training.
If you're curious, just want tohear kind of what I've been

(14:29):
through.
I've had to do with my businesstoo.
I didn't go to business school.
I am a registered dietician.
I have a bachelor of science,nutrition, science.
I have a whole bunch ofcontinuing ed and nutrition
because I'm a complete sciencegeek.
I didn't learn anything aboutbusinesses in school.
I did well, I did do a businessproject.
It was like a group project.

(14:50):
And one of the girls in mygroups, boyfriend, who they're
now married.
W was getting his MBA and helike helped us with it a lot.
But even then it was like sotheoretical.
It was building out like abusiness plan.
Right.
Which I have no idea ever builtan actual business plan for my
business right now.
And I've been in business for.

(15:11):
Seven years now, six, sevenyears.
Because you don't really needthat.
That's for my getting alone andall of that, but you don't
really need to do.
So the actual, like mechanics ofcreating and building and
growing and maintaining abusiness and providing excellent
customer care and the platformsand the marketing and.
All of that.

(15:31):
I didn't want to learn it.
And I fought it for a long time.
I just wanted that reallysparkly, shiny, perfect private
practice.
With the best clients who Iloved serving and you know, got
them great results and, oh, youknow, making a financial
difference for my family.
I just wanted the interest Holt.
I didn't want to have to laythat strong foundation.

(15:52):
And I've had to over the lastfive plus years.
Really digging into themechanics of marketing and
advertising and you know,business stuff.
And now, yeah, I do have all ofthose things and I'm able to
see.
Scale and continue to grow andcontinue to better myself.
Because I've gone through all ofthat to really get to this place

(16:14):
now.
So whenever that happens, because you fully understand the
inner workings of your health.
You're able to weather any stormthat comes along, maybe a
little, you'll get a setback, but you're going to be able to
put things back together a lotmore quickly.
Then, if somebody was fixing itfor you.

(16:36):
Right.
So if you've done the work andI'm not saying don't hire help,
like that goes against what I'vesaid multiple times, right?
If you were at a place whereyou've tried the basic things.
And you're not getting betterand you're really suffering.
Hire somebody as a guide, I'vehired business coaches.
I talked about that in my lastepisode is fall where you know,
I've had to hire some help toteach me the things that I

(16:57):
didn't know how to do, becausewhat that does is it accelerates
your progress.
It doesn't do the work for you.
And I tell people that all thetime hiring me, joining my
program, got rehab.
It's not like a magic button.
That's going to fix yourproblems for you and do all the
work for you.
No, no, no.
The work is just beginning,right?
It's so exciting and it's fun.

(17:17):
And I get to do it with you, andwe're going to walk this path
together and hold hands thewhole way.
And you're going to get evenbetter results even faster
because you have all of myexpertise to build from, but
it's ultimately.
You still having to do the work?
And that's not for everybody andthat's okay.
Not everybody is meant to workwith me and if that's not what

(17:39):
you're wanting, then my programis not for you.
And so that's okay though, butwhenever you're really willing
to pay, to make a sacrifice toreally work for your gut health,
I know you don't want to, Ididn't want to back whenever I
was building my business.
Right.
Like I said, I didn't want to doit.
I just wanted the interest.
But I am such a morecompassionate.

(18:02):
Empathetic.
Stronger determined.
Persistence.
Balanced person because I've hadto go through those things and
learn all of those skillsets.
And you, aren't going to gothrough themes and learn so much
more about yourself.
And, you know, wife and how youoperate and how you interact

(18:24):
with others.
And you're going to be able toultimately live out your purpose
that God has created for you somuch better and amplified
because of the lessons that youlearn.
In this gut healing journey.
So I hope that this wasinspiring for you.
I hope that it makes you feelgood about maybe some of the

(18:46):
harder times that you might begoing through right now.
Keep playing those stones down, keep at it.
Don't give up, have faith thatfive years from now, one year
from now, things will be betterfor you.
And they absolutely will be if Ican be of any service or support
