Muskogee's Three Rivers Museum is tasked to “preserve our past and promote our future”. One way the museum does that is with its annual celebration of Bass Reeves; a territorial marshal for many years based out of Fort Smith Arkansas, then as a member of the Muskogee Police Dept in the early 1900’s.
The annual Bass Reeves Western History Celebration has grown from it’s initial event 15 years ago to what it is today; drawing attendees from all four corners of the United States as well as Europe, the UK, Australia and even Egypt.
Museum Director Angie Rush visits with the Occasional Podcaster this time around to tell us about the museum, it’s benefits to the community and, of course, the 15th annual Bass Reeves Western History Celebration
