This week on The One Big Thing Podcast, I sit down with my friend Eric Chiofalo — a husband, dad to three little girls, and sports radio host at 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.
If you’ve followed my journey, you know how much the Dallas Cowboys have always meant to me because of my dad. So having Eric on — someone I’ve admired from a distance — was really special. But this conversation went far deeper than sports.
Eric opened up about what’s been a heavy season for him following the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk — someone he admired as a man of faith, a husband, and a father. We talked about the raw emotions of grief, the anger that’s bubbled up watching people celebrate tragedy, and what it looks like to keep our hearts aligned with God in the middle of heartbreak.
We dove into:

- How studying the Bible has reshaped Eric’s perspective on forgiveness
- Building a daily rhythm of prayer, scripture, and honest conversations with God
- Balancing public influence with private integrity — especially when the mic goes off

This wasn’t just a conversation about faith — it was about being human. About being men who are trying to raise families, steward our platforms well, and not lose sight of who we are in the process.
Eric’s honesty and humility reminded me that even in the public eye, we’re all just people trying to do our best, mess up less, and love well.
