The Other Brothers Podcast focuses on positive, informative and inspiring content. Friends and Cohosts, Jared and Cody, have a fascination for interesting people, especially those who've overcome challenges in their lives. Their approach is to balance humor with respect and admiration for those who are willing to share their stories. Season 2: PIVOTAL explores the turning points in people's lives; moments or events that inspired significant change and the discussion of how these pivotal experiences transformed the lives of those who've lived them.
We're still here! And for this episode, we reach way back into our audio vault and re-explore our ORIGINAL take of Episode 3 - The Myth Of The Perfect Family.
At the time of this recording, for some reason(s), we didn't feel like this take made "the cut" so we put a lid on it and boxed it away and re-recorded the episode (what we eventually released as Ep 3).
Recently, Cody and ...
"God Is A Drummer" - an original spoken word by Jared Abraham.
In this episode, Cody and Jared discuss the "D Word". We hear from Brent who was willing to share his experience as a member who went through a divorce, how it effected him, and how we can improve as members in our approach and interaction with those who may have also experienced divorce.
Mawwiage. Mawwiage is wwhat bwrings us togethaw today.
In this episode, the boys discuss the culture surrounding marriage. We've been told that the only way to have a "first class" marriage is by being married and sealed in the temple. Is that true? And what happens when that temple marriage falls apart? What about those who've married non-members? Where do they stand? Is there a &q...
In this episode, Cody and Jared talk about the pressure put on young people in the Church to serve missions. Should every young man serve a mission? What if you served and it wasn't what you expected? What if you didn't serve at all? Will Bill Lamps ever find acceptance back within the Lamps family?! Tune in!
Only two episodes in, Cody and Jared discuss the challenges they've already experienced in making The Other Brothers podcast but out of those challenges, a Mission Statement to reach "The One" is born.
They revisit some audio that helps explain why they feel compelled to continue their project.
In this episode, we discuss how the "Perfect Mormon Family" is not a thing. Why do we always compare our family to others we see that seem perfect? How do we change that in our church culture? Who is ultimately letting Cody in when he gets to the pearly gates? Tune in!
We kick off our "maiden voyage" with this first episode discussing how some members can feel that the Gospel and the Church is true but just don't feel like they're good enough to be considered members of the church. Where do these feelings come from? Is there part of our church culture that unintentionally influences these feelings in our members? How can we help fix it? Tune in!
This episode discusses the ideas that inspired “The Other Brothers” and gives a brief synopsis of what we will be discussing.

Donna witnessed the decline of her father as he succumbed to cancer. Through that experience, she realized no one has a blueprint on how to deal with grieving or how to hold the medical institutions accountable. This inspired her to write the book "The Man of 712", a nod to her father's childhood street address. She also (jokingly?) warns the OB's of her "connections" to the Mafia.
The OB's hang out with lovely producer, Nikki and discuss the season so far, the people they've met and the stories that have been told and give a quick heads up on things to come.
